My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Fiery Throwdown
Previous ChapterNext ChapterGalar. Near Hammerlocke. Afternoon.
Arriving in this world was the counterpart to Sunset Shimmer, who had shown up in time to save Sonia from being caught by Volo. In her hands, she held the Bug-Type Shard while also keeping Yamper close to her.
Volo narrowed his eyes as Sonia scampered over to her side. "You're Volo aren't you?" Fiery asked, recognizing his appearance. "Ash told me all about you. And I'll say, you look exactly like Champion Cynthia."
You...." Volo groaned, seeing yet another obstacle in his way. He was not aware that this was a completely different Sunset Shimmer. "Getting in my way again? Here I thought you wouldn't even bother showing up after what happened back at Unova?
"Hmph! You're mistaking me for my counterpart. I'm the other Sunset Shimmer." She declared. "And for your information, I got nothing going on right now. So, why not pick a fight with someone who isn't busy?"
"Thank you so much..." Sonia sighed with relief, grateful that help had arrived.
"No problem, While my counterpart and the others focus on speaking with Twilight, I can deal with you for the time being." Fiery rubbed her hands together while putting on a grin.
"Hm. So, you intend to keep me here and let them speak to her for as long as possible? How foolish." Volo stated. "Twilight's already made up her mind by now. The two of us are going to find all the shards to the very end. And there's not a single thing any of you can do about it."
"Says you, blondie. They may have trouble with her, but I can take care of you. As long as you don't get back to Twilight and I take some of those shards off you, we'll be smooth sailing right afterwards."
"Are you...here for the shards too?" Sonia asked Fiery.
"Kinda. I'm mainly here from him. I've been itching to do something big for a while. Ash and the others always get involved with stuff like this and now it's my turn." Fiery cracked her knuckles, getting ready to battle. "Are you ready Pyroar?"
"Pyroar!" Pyroar roared, glaring at Volo. This allowed Sonia to run freely, dashing away from here without any worry.
Volo closed his eyes, clearly feeling greatly irritated by this. But a smile soon formed on his face as he regained his composure. "Twilight will be just fine. You won't be leaving here with her." He suddenly spoke about Twilight before reopening his eyes, glaring at Fiery. "So be it. If you wish to challenge me, I'll accept it."
"Then you wouldn't mind if I went first, right? Pyroar! Use Flamethrower." Fiery commanded.
"Py...!" Holding her breath in, Pyroar gathered an intense surge of flames in her mouth. Once she opened it, she would unleash a powerful blast of fiery energy towards Volo.
"Arcanine! Use Fire Blast!" Volo countered, using the power of Arcanine to create a powerful star-shaped symbol of fire, blasting out a powerful torrent of flame energy, clashing with the flamethrower attack, resulting in a great explosion between the two.
The smoke would clear after the great blazing collision as Fiery would take the opportunity to call out another attack."Head in there with Extreme Speed!" Pyroar roared as she dashed forward with blinding speed, leaping into the air and throwing herself at Volo.
"Use Dragon Pulse!" Volo commanded. Hisuian Arcanine would then leap into the air as well, charging up a ball of draconic energy. The ball would then transform into a beam, firing off directly at Pyroar. The Lioness Pokemon barely managed to dodge the attack by shifting her position slightly. "Now use Power Gem!"
Hisuian Arcanine would then gather light blue energy within his body as a bright circle of light appeared beneath Pyroar. From there, several gemstones emerged from below, flying upward and striking Pyroar from below.
"Ah!" Fiery gasped, seeing that Volo was much more experienced than she anticipated. She would then smirk. "Hah! I'm barely even intimidated here! Use Dark Pulse! Pyroar!"
"Py!" Pyroar nodded as she jumped back, unleashing a surge of dark waves from her mouth, shooting them all at Hisuian Arcanine. He would simply charge up Dragon Rush and rush through the attack, completely ignoring it as he closed the distance between him and Pyroar. "Roar!"
"Now finish it with Extreme Speed again!" Fiery shouted. Pyroar would use her extreme speed once more, rushing in with blinding speed.
"Raging Fury!" Volo commanded.
"Arca!" Hisuian Arcanine would roar loudly as flames would suddenly engulf his entire body, causing Fiery and Pyroar to gasp as they saw the flames grow brighter.
The attack, Raging Fury, allowed Hisuian Arcanine to shroud himself in flames, increasing the potency of his moves tenfold. Pyroar tried to rush forward but was soon blocked off by the intense heat of the flames as she found herself unable to get past this wall of fire. She would be struck by the powerful flames, getting thrown back onto the ground while groaning in pain.
"Pyroar! No!" Fiery cried out.
Volo would smirk before chuckling. "It seems you're a lot like counterpart. Much like her, you never stood a chance against me." He said, making Fiery growl at him. "You are clearly not ready for someone like me."
"Bah! Says you! Unlike my counterpart, no offence to her, I'm not afraid to get dirty and rough when necessary!" Fiery declared before putting on a rather devious grin. Volo raised an eyebrow as he wondered what she meant by that. She dug into her jacket pocket before shouting out another move. "Use Flamethrower!"
"Pyroar!" Pyroar unleashed a quick burst of flames towards Volo. He narrowed his eyes as he ordered his own Pokemon to counterattack with Fire Blast. However, he didn't realize that Fiery had other plans as she then pulled out a small bottle that seemed to contain oil, throwing it in front of her. "Py!"
As soon as it landed on Pyroar, it broke, spreading the oil all over her body. The oil would then light up in flames as the fire from Flamethrower touched her body, setting the oil ablaze, covering her entire body with flames. Thanks to this, Pyroar's flames increased dramatically as she rushed forth.
Arcanine continued his Raging Fury, only to be suddenly overpowered by Pyroar who came running in with much greater power and speed, passing through the flames without any issue.
In a flash, Pyroar tackled into Arcanine, knocking him back slightly. Thanks to the oil, Pyroar' was now stronger, even if for a while. The flames around her were bursting with great intensity as she began spraying a strong stream of flames at Arcanine, who couldn't defend himself against them thanks to being caught off guard.
"I see you weren't exaggerating about playing dirty...You're certainly different from your counterpart." Volo uttered.
"Heh! I make sure to stock up on small oil bottles I make just for Pyroar! Makes her stronger and way harder to approach too! I've got you right where I want you! This'll be over soon!" Fiery boasted, looking quite proud.
"I highly doubt that."
Meanwhile, Sci-Twi had arrived at one of the routes leading to Circhester, specifically Route 8, where there was nothing but rubble. No longer was the area accessible thanks to the damage caused by the lands here. It was going to be a bit difficult for them to get out of here.
She also saw how any pathway had been ripped open, leaving behind a rather deep hole in its place. It would be hard to pass through this area as it wasn't safe for anyone to traverse right now. But at least the rest of Galar wasn't affected.
As if that wasn't bad enough, there was also Dragon Energy rising out of the hole, giving off an ominous feeling as it slowly rose up. It didn't seem like the energy was going anywhere anytime soon, remaining stagnant in the air.
"Dragon Energy...That means Volo used the shard. But why? Why destroy all the land here?" Sci-Twi wondered. She believed that Volo had to have a reason to do this since the Dragon Shard was obviously used to cause this damage. There was no other explanation for it.
But Sci-Twi was confused about why he did it. Volo didn't seem like someone who would destroy things so casually. At least she hoped he wouldn't. "How am I going to get past this...? I don't think Dusknoir can get past the Dragon Energy..."
"Need some help?" Suddenly, appearing behind her was Melony, making Sci-Twi gasp as she turned to her.
"Gave me a scare..."
"My that is a massive hole...I definitely can't see anyone getting past this so easily." Melony said, looking around the area before glancing at Sci-Twi. "I wouldn't say we're trapped but anyone wishing to leave or enter using this path will be disappointed."
"Well...I was thinking of a way I could maybe cross it. As long as there's a clear path, I could move through the Dragon Energy."
"Eh? Move through it? You? Darling, wouldn't you get hurt from doing such a thing?"
"I'll be fine." She would suddenly smile. "I have some Fairy Matter in me, so I can pass through it without worrying about any damage." She remembered how she had Fairy Matter within her body, much like her other counterparts, allowing her to use the power of Fairies to protect herself from the Dragonic Energy. "It's probably dangerous for others but not me."
"Ooh, how mystical~" Melony giggled with joy. "But you'd still need a pathway, sweetie. I can help with that. I can have my Pokemon create a pathway of ice just for you."
"Really?! That sounds great! I'm glad to hear it." Sci-Twi smiled. "Thanks so much, Ms. Melony!"
"No problem, darling! I'll get onto it right away." Melony took out all six of her Poke Balls, releasing them as her Pokemon all appeared before Sci-Twi. The girl was quite surprised to see that her team consisted of various Ice-types, all of which were unique and different. "Go ahead, everyone!"
In unison, all of her Ice-Types would unleash their own signature moves, creating a large icy road over the hole. It would span across the distance, making it easier for Sci-Twi to traverse. It moved in a radius shape, reaching far to make sure they had enough room to work with.
Sci-Twi could see that the ice was rather sturdy as well, seeing that it wasn't falling apart anytime soon. She walked up to it, gently tapping it with her foot, only to feel that it was solid. "Wow...This looks amazing." She praised, amazed by the strength of this structure.
"All done, darling! You can go on ahead now." Melony told Sci-Twi. "Be careful though. If you slip and fall, you could end up tumbling down into that big hole. So please watch your step."
"I will." Sci-Twi nodded before taking a deep breath. She was feeling a bit nervous about this whole thing. But she knew that she needed to do this. However, as soon as she was about to step onto the platform of ice, the Dragon Energy would suddenly erupt, breaking it all in one shot as it destroyed the bridge of ice.
"Oh my! My Ice Bridge!" Melony gasped in shock.
"I guess it couldn't contain all that energy for long..." Sci-Twi sighed. "I should've seen that coming..."
"It was such a wonderful idea too..." Melony twiddled her fingers, visibly disappointed by the outcome. So were her Pokemon. Now it seemed too difficult to get beyond this point since the Dragon Energy could just break through the ice.
"....Oh!" That is until Sci-Twi had an idea. It wasn't over just yet. "Maybe we can enhance it with this!" From her bag, she pulled out the newly obtained shard that Melony gave her. The Ice Shard. "This could work."
"The shard? Are you sure?"
"Mhm. I have a good feeling about this one. If we use this on your Pokemon, their strength could be increased and that could hold off the Dragon Energy for even longer. At least long enough for me to get through here without being bothered by it." Sci-Twi explained. "If it's like the other types I've seen so far, then it'll work."
"Hmmm...Alright. If you think it'll work, darling, then go ahead." Melony agreed. "We'll try it out together."
Sci-Twi nodded as she would hold it out to the Ice-Types. This was her first time really testing out the power of these shards on other Pokemon. As far as she knows, she hasn't used them on anyone at all. Not even herself So she wasn't quite sure if this would work or not. She just had to assume that they would react to the Pokemon of the same type as the shards.
It was a bit of a shot in the dark, but it was worth a try. After all, they didn't know when Volo might come back. And she also wanted to see Twilight and Ash again. To tell them what she thought about their decision.
The Ice-Type Pokemon all watched as the Ice Shard began to glow, causing the crystal to shine brightly. Once it did, it released a wave of icy energy that engulfed all of Melony's Pokemon. The energy would flow through each of them, making them all feel stronger than ever before.
In unison, her Pokemon unleashed powerful beams of cold energy from their mouths, firing off towards the large hole in the ground. The ice would shoot past Sci-Twi who jumped back to avoid being caught in the crossfire. The energy would eventually collide with the Dragonic Energy, creating a great outburst that caused a massive gust of wind to blow through the area.
Sci-Twi would shield her eyes as she watched the Dragonic Energy and icy energy clash against one another. However, the ice soon overpowered it, forcing the energy back until it was completely gone. "It worked!" Sci-Twi cheered. "I can't believe it actually worked!"
"Marvelous!" Melony applauded. "You're amazing, sweetie! I had no idea that the shard could do that."
"Now we have a new path. It's going to last longer before the Dragon Energy breaks through it too." Sci-Twi said. "Thank you so much for helping me out, Ms. Melony."
"It's my pleasure, darling~ Now hurry along! You have a friend to find!" Melony winked, causing Sci-Twi to nod before running across the bridge.
Hammerlocke.
Meanwhile, Sunset Shimmer's group were currently at Hammerlocke, away from the Wild Area and Sci-Twi's location. The only reason they showed up at Galar was all thanks to Slurpuff. Thanks to the Pinkie Pie from Equestria lending one of her Slurpuff for help, they were able to follow Sci-Twi's scent, arriving here at the Galar Region.
Slurpuff led the way, causing the girls to follow behind her as they were heading down the path that would lead to Circhester. It was still a long way from here and would probably take a day to reach at this rate. Luckily, Slurpuff could cover more ground and keep an eye on her surroundings in case Twilight was nearby.
"Puff! Slurpuff!" Slurpuff would nudge his head North, informing them of where they should head next.
"You're saying it's....that way?" Fluttershy would try and translate. While she wasn't as skilled as her Equestrian counterpart, she could at least read their mannerisms. And Slurpuff knew this, making sure to make it easy on her. "Oh! Alright! It should be here he's referring to then." She would point at a map that Applejack was holding, her finger focused on Circhester.
"Well, at least he knows where we should go. But it feels like we're moving way too slow." Rainbow Dash grumbled.
"Let's just take the train. We'll get there way faster. Hopefully, she hasn't left Circhester by then...but I doubt she will." Sunset suggested.
"Puff...Slurpuff!" Just then, Slurpuff detected Sci-Twi moving in a different direction, surprising the others as they looked over.
"Eh? You're sayin' she ain't in Circhester anymore?" Applejack raised an eyebrow. "But I thought you said she was over there...?"
"She was..." Sunset blinked before turning her head to the west. "Then why is Slurpuff detecting her over there? She's heading west now?"
"If she's heading West then she might end up in..." Applejack looked at the map, wondering where she would head to next. "Ah! Right around here! Somewhere near Hammerlocke!"
"That means she's close! Lucky us!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed. "Great work, Slurpuff! We can catch up to her quicker this way! Come on! Let's hurry and meet up with her!" She took off, heading towards the area where Sci-Twi was headed to.
"Pinkie!" The other girls yelled before chasing after her, hoping to catch up to the hyperactive girl. They managed to do so thanks to Sunset who was able to keep up with Pinkie while still being in sync with Slurpuff. If they were quick about it, they could meet Sci-Twi soon before she goes any further, but they were also hoping that Volo wasn't nearby.
Volo and Fiery's battle continued as things were heating up between them. Fiery was currently in the lead, managing to gain some ground against him, despite his experience. Pyroar was still covered in flames, making her much stronger than Hisuian Arcanine who was panting from the intense heat of the flames.
He wasn't used to this sort of thing. He never really had a chance to face off against a Pokemon that has its own flames cloaking its body. So for him, this was all new. But even though he was struggling, he could easily tell that his opponent wasn't going to last for long either.
She'd run out of fire eventually, losing the flames that kept her empowered. At that point, it was over for her. He just needed to wait until the moment arrived. And once that happened, he would finish things up quickly and take care of her and her partner.
"Use Flamethrower!" Fiery commanded, having Pyroar shoot out a powerful blast of fiery energy towards Hisuian Arcanine. He simply responded with a Dragon Pulse, using the power of the shard to counteract it. The two moves would clash against one another, resulting in a great explosion in the process.
"Hm." Volo narrowed his eyes while the explosion went off as he observed the battle.
"What's wrong?! Feeling the pressure?!" Fiery smirked. "If it's too much of an issue, I can just finish this right now!"
"Hah...No. I've seen enough." Volo sighed, shaking his head. "I'll admit, despite being newer to Pokemon than your counterpart, you are far more formidable than she was. Perhaps it's that anger of yours...or the blatant cheating."
"It ain't cheating if it works." Fiery crossed her arms right after saying that.
"But...just like her, you were never a match to begin with. I'll have to use more than one shard for this since you're upping your game." Volo said as he shocked Fiery. From his pockets, he unveiled another shard. This time, it was the Ghost Shard. "I only have these two on me since it would be too dangerous to have more than 5 shards near each other. Twilight has the rest but this combination of shards will do just fine."
Immediately, he harnessed both shards, combining them as he formed a draconic aura around himself. Then he would combine it with the Ghost Shard, creating a new surge of energy that seemed to form a spectral dragon. It looked very similar to Dialga and Palkia, but it had a ghostly appearance that was different.
Fiery gasped at what she saw. She couldn't believe that this man could summon something like this. The fact that he was able to create a manifestation of a Pokemon was shocking to her. This wasn't something she had ever seen before. But the feeling of dread soon began to wash over her as she felt the presence of this creature.
The power of the shard made him feel so much stronger than before. And with this, he would unleash the power of the two shards onto Fiery and Pyroar. "Begone." He commanded.
"Py?!" The Lioness gasped as a wave of shadows suddenly enveloped her. Fiery would soon be enveloped too in a matter of moments.
"Aaah!" Fiery screamed as she felt herself being engulfed by the shadows. Everything went dark for them as the energy from the Ghost Shards immediately started attacking their bodies, sending a chilling and haunting presence through them.
It was a horrible feeling, cause Fiery to get on her knees and hold onto herself. Her body was freezing cold and she could hear loud whispers within her mind. It was unlike any other experience she had in her life, causing her to tremble greatly.
"W-What is this...?" "Ah!" Fiery screamed as she felt herself being engulfed by the shadows. Everything went dark for them as the energy from the Ghost Shards immediately started attacking their bodies, sending a chilling and haunting presence through them.
It was a horrible feeling, causing Fiery to get on her knees and hold onto herself. Her body was freezing cold and she could hear loud whispers within her mind. It was unlike any other experience she had in her life, causing her to tremble greatly.
"W-What is this...?" She stuttered, trying to maintain her composure. But it was no use. She couldn't control herself anymore as she felt nothing but pain. She then heard Volo's footsteps, prompting her to look up as he was standing over her. "Nngh!"
"Stay out of this, alright?" Volo kneeled to face her eye to eye as he said that. With a simple wave of his hand, he forced the darkness around her to disappear, allowing her to breathe. He was going to release her from the spell he put on her, but only because he didn't want to deal with her anymore.
Afterwards, Pyroar simply fainted and so did Fiery as they both dropped to the ground. "I will continue this alone. Once I'm finished here, I'll go back to find Twilight. You won't be getting in my way again." With that said, Volo would rise back to his feet, seeing that Fiery was now unconscious which prompted him to leave to try and find Sonia again. But even when unconscious, the counterpart to Sunset Shimmer let out one final word before truly passing out.
"Ash..."
As the journey continues.
