Unova. Trixie's Great and Powerful School. Day.

Aside from the one that exists in Canterlot, there was another Pokemon School that was newly created just for Equestrians that were getting used to the world of Pokemon. Ironically enough, it wasn't even located in Equestria, but rather in the Eastern parts of Unova, somewhere around Undella Town and Undella Bay.

Trixie's Pokemon School was actually before Equestria's Pokemon School, predating it a bit, and naturally, with this fact, Trixie took full advantage of this. The front of her school had a sign that read 'Trixie's Pokemon School' while having a banner that said 'The First Ever Pokemon School Created By An Equestrian'.

It wasn't even a lie and that was only an even larger reason for Trixie to show it off. She wanted to be known as the first-ever Equestrian to create a Pokemon School,

It's been 2 years since it's been established and it has gone through some upgrades, going from a relatively small school to an average size school. It was still smaller than the one in Canterlot, but it was still a good size.

Arriving here was none other than Volo, who was once again using Sonia's body. He had come here for one reason only since he was currently a wanted man. If he was to continue his quest without being watched or followed, he needed a way to bypass that. And there was indeed something in Trixie's School. Volo-Sonia approached the front doors, entering the building.

Inside, the students were already active with their Pokemon, moving and acting in a frenzy. Previously, this school was filled with ponies but now, mans have been added. This was due to the other purpose of this school's existence. Magic. Trixie never abandoned that all and involves it with her Pokemon, which in turn, allows the students to the same.

They were all wearing the same uniform, which consisted of a white shirt, blue pants, and black shoes. Some of them were also wearing hats, but not all of them. It was mainly the humans who wore the shirts and pants while the ponies only wore the shirts and sometimes the shoes.

Volo-Sonia walked past them all, heading towards the main office where she knew she would meet Trixie. While walking, she saw how bombastic this school was, having that Trixie touch to it. Everything about it was over the top, just like how Trixie always does things just to stand out and really make herself feel larger than the rest.

He soon arrived at the main office, knocking on the door. She waited patiently for a response, hoping that Trixie was inside. After a few seconds, the door opened with a lot of flair. The way it opened up was similar to a magician's trick, with smoke coming out of it. A lightshow was put on display as well, making it seem like a big deal.

Music even played as there was a line of Gothoritas standing on the side, holding instruments. They were playing music that fit the mood perfectly. And right there was Trixie Lulamoon herself, having an overly decorated seat for herself. One would think it was a throne.

"Welcome! Welcome!" Trixie greeted Volo-Sonia, who was rather surprised by the whole thing. "I see you've come to visit my school. What can I do for you?"

"Hm." Volo-Sonia checked out the office, seeing multiple pictures of Trixie all over the place. There were also posters of her shows, showing how much she thought of herself. She even had a picture of herself as a trophy.

"So...you're Trixie, correct? The one who created this school?" Volo-Sonia asked.

"Indeed. That is me. The Great and Powerful Trixie." Trixie nodded. "And you are...?"

"Sonia. A Pokemon Professor from Galar. I'm just here to ask for something."

"Oh, a Pokemon Professor?! In my school?!" Trixie had a prolonged gasp, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I never thought I'd see the day when someone like you would come to my school! This is such an honor!"

"Yes, yes. Now then, I need something from you. Something that will help me out greatly." Volo-Sonia explained.

"Of course! Anything for a Pokemon Professor!" Trixie smiled. "What do you need?"

"This is the place where the Shift Stone is usually found, isn't it?" Volo-Sonia got the point, immediately targeting the Shift Stone.

"Mhm! It is! The Great and Powerful Trixie is the one who discovered a huge chunk of it one day and took it with me. Ever since then, I've been chipping off pieces of that stone and trading those pieces with those who are interested. Well, for the most part, I mainly pass it on to ponies over at Ponyville. Even then, only 12 of them ever brought them from me."

"Well, let me be the 13th. I would like to purchase a Shift Stone from you." Volo-Sonia leaned in. This was his ticket. The Shift Stone would allow him to change his appearance to whoever or whatever he chooses. Combined with the power of the Ghost Shard allowing him to possess bodies, Volo had some strong options. "As a Pokemon Professor, I'd like to research it myself. And I'll pay you handsomely for it."

"Handsomely, you say? Mmm...The way I pass on a Shift Stone is by trading it with another item. I have no interest in money." Trixie shook her head. "No, no. It has to be by trading. Something valuable in exchange for something else."

"...Trading, you say?" That struck something in Volo-Sonia. Volo was a merchant after all. He knew how to trade. This was a walk in the park for him as a smile formed on his face slowly. He knew exactly what to do. "Alright. I think I know what I can give you."

"Really? What is it?" Trixie asked.

"Just give me a second!" He got up, immediately making his way out of the office. "I'll be right back!"

Volo-Sonia left the office, heading towards a secluded place in this school. She needed to get rid of Sonia's body for now so she could return to her normal self just to get a hold of his items once more. His spirit would leave her body once he found a place he could hide for a while as Sonia's body dropped to the floor.

Once he emerged, he immediately dug into his bag, pulling out a few items. These were all things he collected during his time as a merchant. Items that he used to trade with others. This was speciality and he wasn't about to lack in it for even a moment.

"Let's see here...I have a few things that might interest her. I'm sure she'll appreciate these." Volo smirked before repossessing Sonia's body.

He returned to the office, holding a few items in his hands. He showed them to Trixie, hoping that they would be enough to trade for the Shift Stone.

"Here. I think these will do nicely." Volo-Sonia said. "What do you think?"

"T-These are ancient items from Equestria!" Trixie was starstruck. Right before her eyes were items of old, lost for centuries upon centuries. "How did you get your hands on these?!"

"I have my ways." Volo-Sonia chuckled. "So, do we have a deal?"

"Deal! Deal! Deal!" Trixie nodded rapidly. "I'll give you the Shift Stone right away!" She then used her magic to open up a cabinet, unveiling a collection of Shift Stones. It was beautiful. All of their Cosmic Energies radiating together in a symphony, lighting up Trixie's already colourful room.

Volo hit the jackpot but he was fine with just having one Shift Stone. He wasn't going for the whole thing. Trixie took one of them, giving it to Volo-Sonia. And since such valuable items were shown to Trixie, she slid in two more as thanks. The deal had been made.

"Excellent. Thank you very much." Volo-Sonia smiled as he took the Shift Stone from Trixie. "I'll be taking my leave now. Have a nice day." He waved goodbye before leaving the office, closing the door behind him.

"Bye bye!" Trixie waved back. Once Volo-Sonia was gone, she turned to the Gothoritas who were still playing music. "Alright, girls. You can stop now." The Gothoritas stopped playing their instruments, putting them down.

"Thank you for coming to visit my school. I hope you enjoyed your time here." Trixie smiled. "Now then, let's get back to work, you all! We have big things ahead of us! Big things!" She clapped her hooves, causing the Gothoritas to leave the room while Volo left with satisfaction.

Volo-Sonia left the school with a smile on his face. He had a way to move around stealthily and it was time for him to utilize Shift Stone. He was already aware Sci-Twi was in possession of one but she only uses it when entering Equestria. She's not exactly comfortable about being a pony after all.

For Volo, he knew what they were capable of so he wasn't having any second thoughts. While still using Sonia's body, he harnessed the power of the Shift Stone, his mind immediately thinking of someone to transform into as a cosmic energy surrounded his body.

The cosmic energy soon faded away, revealing a Braviary. He decided to take the form of a Pokemon first, preferably someone that can move swiftly across the air. He would fly off from here, heading towards Sinnoh. This is just what Volo wanted. His plans were back in motion once more but he would still have to be careful. There are powerful forces out there that could get the better of him.

"This is perfect."

Galar. Motostoke.

Back at Galar, Sunset Shimmer and her friends failed to find Sci-Twi anywhere. They searched all over the region, but couldn't find her. It seemed that she had vanished into thin air.

"Ugh...Where could she be?" Sunset Shimmer sighed as she leaned against a wall. "We've been looking for her for hours now and we still haven't found her."

"Yeah. This is getting frustrating." Rainbow Dash groaned. "I wish we could just find her already."

"Look on the bright side. Slurpuff still has her scent locked down." Pinkie brought optimis while hugging Slurpuff, gazing at her friends. "So no matter what, we can still follow her trail."

"That's true. But it's still annoying." Rainbow Dash crossed her arms. "I just want to find her already. Where do we go next if she isn't in Galar?"

"Maybe we should try searching somewhere else." Fluttershy suggested. "Like another region or something. If she's not here, then she's probably gone to another region already."

"But which one? There are so many regions out there..." Applejack pointed out while observing the map. Right now, Galar's Map was of no use.

"Well, I guess we'll just have to keep looking until we find her." Rarity shrugged. "It's the only thing we can do right now."

"Yeah. You're right." Sunset nodded. "Let's keep going."

The group continued their search for Sci-Twi, hoping to find her soon. They didn't know where she was or what she was doing, but they were determined to find her. They needed to make sure she was safe and sound.

Unova. The Arcane Sea.

Another day was about to come to an end and Volo was once again on the move, but he had not yet arrived at Sinnoh. Instead, before he could do so, there was just one more thing he had to do. He had to create a counterfeit shard for Sonia once he finally leaves her body.

To do that, he arrived at the Arcane Sea located far off in the Unova Region.

He was currently taking on the form of a Water-Type, specifically an Eelektross. He had to do this since the Arcane Sea is filled with Water-Type Pokemon, making it easier for him to blend in. He swam through the sea, looking for the perfect place to create his fake shard.

He was currently taking on the form of a Water-Type, specifically an Eelektross. He swam through the cosmic sea, looking for the perfect place to create his fake shard.

He would then return to his original form, finding a piece of land that was floating in the air. He landed on it with precision before holding out a small pebble. To replicate a shard, he needed to make sure he got every detail down, which caused him to find a pebble that was roughly the same size as the shards.

"Alright...Let's see here..." Volo muttered to himself as he held the pebble in his hand. "I need to make sure this looks exactly like a shard. If I don't, it'll jut raise heavy suspicion."

He closed his eyes, dipping the pebble and his hand into the Arcanse Sea. He focused hard, trying to harness the power of the sea. He needed to use its magic to create a fake shard.

A cosmic light flared from the sea as the power of the Rift was moulding the pebble into a shard. It was slowly changing shape, becoming more and more like a shard.

"Yes...Yes! This is it!" Volo grinned. "Just a little bit more and it'll be done!"

The cosmic light would increase dramatically as a great surge of Rift Energy came flying out of the sea. The pebble was now completely transformed, having been turned into a fake shard.

Volo pulled his hand out of the sea, revealing the fake shard. He smiled as he looked at it, seeing how well it had turned out. "Perfect. Just perfect." He chuckled, having the perfect counterfeit at his disposal. With this, he could finally dispose of Sonia's body and let her believe she never lost the Bug Shard at all. All of it was coming together perfectly for Volo.

Galar. Near Hammerlocke. Nightfall.

"Ngh..." Sonia's eyes were slowly opening up as she woke up from her slumber. She found herself lying against a tree, wondering what happened. The light of the Moon beamed down on her as she sat under the starry night sky. "Ugh...What happened...?"

She got up, rubbing her head as she tried to remember what happened. She couldn't recall anything that occurred after she was chased by Volo. Everything was a blur.

"Wait...Volo!" Sonia gasped, remembering that she was being chased by him. "Where is he?! Did he get away?!"

She looked around, trying to find any signs of Volo. However, there was no one else around. It seemed that he had already left. She then wondered why was the case and couldn't even remember a thing. She never remembered that he possessed her body and everything else beyond that.

"I guess he must've gotten away..." Sonia sighed. "I can't believe I let him get away. I'm such an idiot."

She then noticed that she was holding something in her hand. It was the Bug Shard. She was surprised to see that she still had it.

"Huh? What's this doing here?" Sonia questioned. "I thought I lost it when I was running away from Volo. How did I end up with it again?" Sonia didn't know how she got the shard back, but she was glad that she did. "Did he...not take the shard? No, that can't be right. He wouldn't just leave it behind like that..."

It didn't make sense to Sonia. Why would Volo leave the shard behind if he wanted it so badly? It didn't add up. But she decided not to question it too much. She was just happy that she managed to keep the shard. But Sonia felt a rather ominous air to all of this. As if something was not right about all of this.

For now, she would have to keep moving to avoid Volo, even though Volo was no longer pursuing her. Not when he's managed to deceive her with an elaborate plan.

Sinnoh. Sunyshore City. Day.

Over at Sinnoh Region's Sunyshore City, reading the latest news while sitting on a bench was none other than Cynthia. She was currently taking a break from her duties as Champion, enjoying some time to herself. But even when having time to herself, she was still hit with surprises. Once she saw the news, the Champion of Sinnoh would witness a report of her own ancestor, Volo.

Cynthia was stunned by this, her hand dropping her phone as she was unable to process what she just read. She couldn't believe that someone who was once a part of her family was now a wanted man. She never even knew her ancestor entered the present until now.

"My Ancestor is here...? And he's wanted...?" Cynthia muttered to herself.

She picked up her phone, looking at the news article again. She couldn't believe that her ancestor was involved in something like this. She wondered why he was doing this and what his motives were. This felt like a whiplash to her. Cynthia had to know more about this, but alas, the information was limited despite being crucial.

"I need to find out more about this..." Cynthia said as she got up from the bench. There was only one way for her to discover more. Find Volo himself, but that was easier said than done. So, Cynthia decided on one thing. She knew this would all get confusing fast, so she decided to reach one other p.

Ash.

His own Ancestor, Lena Ketchum, was also present here, involved in the news report. Ash was the only person she could think of that would know anything about this. She needed to speak with him as soon as possible since both of their ancestors were currently a hot topic. Cynthia could only assume that Ash was aware of this, but she had to make sure.

Cynthia wanted to make sure she was caught up on everything, even if this news report was available to her. It seems her downtime would have to be cut short thanks to this recent development. To see her own ancestor being up to no good was shocking to her and very few things can surprise Cynthia nowadays.

Kanto. Pallet Town. Ketchum Household. Afternoon.

A knock on the door occurred over at the Ketchum Household. Someone would answer right away and it was none other than Delia herself, constantly present. Delia's eyes widened a bit once she saw the woman standing before her. Cynthia. She had used the gateways to show up here at a quicker pace, saving up a lot of travel time.

"Oh, my. Cynthia, isn't it? What brings you here?" Delia asked.

"Excuse me, Mrs Ketchum. But it's rather urgent. Is Ash home?"

Much like her counterpart, Cynthia didn't waste time and went straight into things. And she knew for a fact Ash was the same, always jumping into the heat of things. And in this instance, the two of them had something crucial going on.

The Ancestor of Ash Ketchum and the Ancestor of Champion Cynthia were both active and somewhere in the world, focused on the same goal. Only 7 Shards are left, waiting to be discovered somewhere in the Grander World.

As the journey continues.
