My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Lena vs Volo
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEquestria. Lowice Town. Day.
Lena and Team Rocket came across the next shard at last, that being the Electric Shard, nestled in this small town that was resting in a mountain of snow with a gigantic lack of light. The only form of light present here was the Electric Shard and the faint glow it was giving off.
Lena had restrained the shards now that five of them were near each other as only the Electric Shard was glowing, but the light it gave off was not strong enough to illuminate this whole town.
"Pichu...!" Pichu wanted them nowhere near his trainer. He was still lively compared to everyone else, having the most energy without a doubt. .
"What's his problem?" Jessie would grimace at Pichu.
"It's fine, Pichu..." The boy would say, being as drained everyone else but managing to speak up despite his condition. Pichu would back then, letting Lena and the others approach.
Lena already got a good grasp of what was potentially happening here as she kneeled in front of the young colt, wanting to ask him something instead of going straight for the Electric Shard. "This town of yours...Where's all the light?"
"Gone. Ever since the Storm Behemoth, the lights have been gone. We've tried fixing it, but nothing's working."
"The Storm Behemoth?" Lena asked as this was her first time hearing of this entity.
"Ah, that thing." James and Team Rocket very much knew of the Storm Behemoth's existence. "That 500ft monstrosity from around 4 years ago. Even after its defeat, those aftermaths left their mark on other places, hm?"
"Hmph. I'm getting tired of hearing its name sometimes. I thought we'd be over that thing by now." Jessie would grumble once its name was brought up yet again.
"All that electricity ruined any chances of us having any light here. The shockwave brought all the snow and buried us around, so it's been difficult for us to leave without getting too cold."
"Hm. This part of the north does feel a bit warmer than the rest actually..." Lena could confirm. This town, despite its condition, had some warmth to it compared to the rest of the North. "But that shard...you found it somewhere else, didn't you? That means you left the town."
"I did. But I didn't get that far for too long. I found this shard somewhere in a lake where it almost shocked a lot of Water-Types. I knew it was important the way it was glowing and thought it would help light up the place so I brought it back home. But...it's no use. I don't even have a Poke Ball to go and catch a Fire-Type. And even if I did, the Pokemon here are too weak to do anything."
"I see. So, you're stuck here."
"Yeah. I'm sorry, but I can't give you the shard. It's the only light we have." The cold understood what Lena wanted already and just couldn't give up the shards.
"I understand." Lena understood clearly. "I won't be taking it from you. Not until I've helped your town get back its light."
"Eh? R-Really?" The colt looked up with his eyes widening. So would some of the ponies and Pokemon here once they heard such a response.
"Mhm. I'm not leaving this place until I've fixed the lights. I'm not gonna take the shard from you. Not yet." Lena stood up, facing all the civilians here with a bright smile. Seeing that she comes from a small town in the past, more specifically a village, she wasn't about to let it suffer like this.
"Hah...We could just take it but...Whatever." Jessie shrugged, knowing this is what Lena was like. They could so easily snatch the shard since everyone here but Pichu was so weak, however, with Lena's decision, they decided not to.
"This reminds me of when a strong heat wave hit my village one day. It was so sweltering hot that we couldn't even move. Thankfully, a few Pokemon came to our rescue and cooled the place down. I'm not about to let this town stay in the dark."
"Thank you, miss." The colt would bow his head, grateful that someone was willing to help.
"No problem. Now, let's get to work."
"So, how are we supposed to fix the lights?" Meowth would ask, not sure how they were going to do that.
"You three are pretty great at creating things. I need you to make something for me." Lena snapped her finger. "Make something that can give a lot of power and after that, I'll have the Electric Shard power it. Volo's not the only one who can harness their power after all."
"Create something? No problem!" The three of them collectively said. When it comes to creating unique inventions, Team Rocket have no equals.
30 Minutes Later.
Team Rocket had all the items they had to craft something thanks to the array of items in Lena's massive bag. They grabbed whatever they could, their hands moving at a breakneck pace. All they had to was make something that could generate a form of heat and light at the same time
"Alright, let's get to work. Take this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this and put them together and...done." Team Rocket would present Lena with a strange device. "Here, it's done."
"Huh, that was fast. What is it?"
"A portable generator. A really big one. It'll provide enough energy and light to this town and maybe even the rest of the North. All it needs is a little bit of Infinity Energy. That shard will do just the trick, and since you're the one who's doing the honours, that's up to you." Jessie uttered.
"Okay. I'll handle it." Lena would nod, facing the young pony. The colt understood that there had to be a way to bring light back here and if this way the only way, so be it. He would pass the Electric Shard over
"Thank you." Lena would gladly accept the Electric Shard, holding it in her hand. "Alright then..."
The Electric Shard would react to her touch, the light of the shard glowing even brighter. She would hold the shard close to the generator, the light shining on the surface. Lena allowed the Divine Egg within her to exert that latent energy, letting it flow gloriously around the Electric Shard, giving it the strength it needed.
"Now, insert the shard into this slot." There was a slot specifically made for the shard that James pointed to, making sure it was the right size.
The Electric Shard would glow a bit brighter, and with the flip of a switch, the generator would hum and whir, its body lighting up. The light from the generator would slowly spread across the town, its light reaching every corner. In a grand outburst, the light would grab onto every nook and cranny of darkness, colouring it with absolute grace.
The town rejoiced, seeing that their town was lit up once more. They couldn't believe their eyes, seeing all this light return in such a gracious way. The heat coming from it was spectacular, the warmth reaching their bodies. Their eyes were alit with wonder and absolute hope as the brightness of this light would even break through the misty clouds.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Everyone would run over, hugging Lena and the others, thanking them for their efforts.
"Don't mention it." Lena would reply, a wide smile on her face. A great sense of satisfaction came from helping this small town get back on its feet
"No, I can't let you leave without a reward." The colt would shake his head. "At least, let me give you a gift. Hold on, I'll be right back." The boy would rush off, heading inside his house and returning with a small box in his hand. "Here. For helping us."
"Oh, you didn't have to."
"But I want to. Take a look, at least."
Lena would open the box and her eyes would widen. It was nice, hoof-crafted bracelet.
"For you."
"Um, are you sure? This is yours, isn't it?"
"It is, but I'm giving it to you. It was a gift from my mom. I'm not sure where she is now, but I'm sure she'll be happy to know that I gave it to someone who helped us out."
Lena would look at the bracelet, which was a simple gold band. She would gently pick it up, examining it. "Pretty...Well, I guess it's mine now, huh?"
"Mhm. It's yours."
"Take this as well!" It wasn't just the colt but all the other ponies who had gifts to give. Gifts that they haven't touched in a long time due to their previous conditions. They would all toss their own personal trinkets Lena and the others, all of them being unique and handmade.
They were being showered with attention and admiration all over the place, bringing life back to this small town. While Lena giggled, slightly overwhelmed by all of this attention, Jessie was soaking it all in, her eyes alit with wonder.
"For me?! Ohohoho! Why, thank you!" She let out a boisterous laugh while taking the gifts.
But of course, the greatest gift was the Electric Shard. It helped power this machine and even after removing it, the generator was still active. The tremendous power the Electric Shard gave was more than enough to give it an automatic power surge.
"Ah, thank goodness. Not even the Sun was able to break through all this cold. We've been living in the dark for so long and now, we finally get to enjoy the light. Thank you, miss. You and your friends."
"The least we could do. As long as you're all happy and healthy." Lena would smile, putting on the bracelet on her wrist. "We'll be going now. Take care, everybody."
"Bye-bye!" The ponies and Pokemon of this world bid their farewells to Lena and Team Rocket.
"Safe travels!"
"Good luck on your journey!"
All the townspeople would wave goodbye, watching Lena and the others leave. And of course, with a successful catch of the Electric Shard, meaning that only 4 shards in the world have yet to be found. The Normal, Fighting, Grass, and technically the Fire Shard, even if the latter's location was somewhere in Alola.
This also meant that Lena and her group could leave the North, exiting the cold area and entering the central part of Equestria. The group would be greeted by a vast green land, the grass beneath their feet swaying with the winds.
"Ah, the central part of the North, the most beautiful part of the entire region." James would sigh, having missed this scenery.
"Hmph." Jessie would cross her arms. "Nothing beats the beauty of the Southern Isles, no matter what part of the world it may be."
"Hm, I agree. There's a certain charm to it." Lena would nod, agreeing with James.
"I'm just glad we're not cold anymore." Meowth would stretch his arms. "Man, I can't wait to get to a Pokemon Center and get some grub."
As the four of them conversed with each other, they stopped to take a slight relief in this lush and vibrant area, sitting near a lake. And of course, to also enjoy Lena's cooking. She had some saved in her bag, present for Team Rocket to feast on.
When chowing down on Lena's food, it would, once again, draw the attention of many Pokemon nearby due to the beautiful scent it gave off. The Pokemon in this respective area gathered around to feast on Lena's cooking, enjoying it immensely.
The whole scene became a feast with everyone eating under the golden sun in this lush land. But as they were eating and enjoying themselves, the Water-Types in the nearby lake would start swimming over to try out this delectable food. However, there was one oddity amongst all these Water-Types. Specifically, an incoming Lumineon that looked a bit too excited getting here. With impressive speed, it would pass by all its fellow Water-Types, aiming to get in front of them all.
Lena noticed this speedy Lumineon showing up and blitzing past them all. Even certain Water Pokemon that should be faster could not keep up. The Sharpedo were absolutely left in the dust, or in this case, the waves.
"Such speed. I guess you were that hungry, eh?" Lena would lean forward to meet with Lumineon. "I know how you feel. I get an amazing adrenaline rush when I really want to eat something."
"Lumine." Lumineon would speak, a smile forming on its face. But it didn't look like it was all that hungry. If it was, it would've jumped out of the lake just to get near the food.
Lena would decide to feed it regardless, turning around just to scoop up some grub. However, as she was doing so, Lumineon would suddenly act while her back was turned. That smile moved up a bit more as Lumineon would open its mouth, unleashing something.
It didn't unleash a Water-Type move or anything of the sort. Instead, it released what appeared to be a Draconic Wave. The nearby Water-Types all gasped as the force of this wave had ruptured the lake, pushing them all back.
"Mm? Lena!" Jessie and James would cry out once they saw Lena at risk of being harmed. They dropped their food and immediately rushed over to shove Lena out of the way.
As a result, Jessie and James took the wave, crying out as it engulfed their bodies.
"Jessie! James!" Lena would watch the two of them get taken out by the wave. The two of them dropped to the ground, "You!" Lena would turn to the culprit, who would start taking on a different form. Or rather, his original form. The energy of the Rift surrounded Lumineon's body, revealing the shape of a human.
It was none other than Volo.
"Volo?!"
"It's been a while, Lena." Volo would walk towards her. He had used the power of the Sift Stone to mask himself as a Luminenon, aiming to catch Lena by surprise and steal her shards, but that obviously failed thanks to Team Rocket. "Here I thought I could knock you out in one go, but these two got in the way."
"Jess! James! Get up!" Meowth ran over to his friends, trying to wake them up.
"Hah...I can't believe I let my guard down." Lena would stand up, her hands balling into fists. All the Pokemon feasting here were immediately nervous and intimidated by Volo's presence, some running for the hills.
At last, Lena and Volo have encountered each other. Not since they both were in Hisui and clashing each other have the two of them crossed paths. Fate has brought them together once more.
"I'm this close, Lena. I'll be able to finish what I started in Hisui, but without you ruining it for me." Volo stated. "And of course, your descendant and his friends. They're quit the troublesome group."
"As long as people see what you're doing is wrong, you'll have obstacles me, Ash and many more in your way." Lena would glare.
"Perhaps. But that just means my drive to succeed will grow even more. The more obstacles that get in my way, the greater I perform. It's somewhat symbiotic, don't you think?" He would smirk while Lena kept a serious frown on her face. "Ah, but nevermind that. You know why I'm here." With his hand out, he went straight to the point. "Your Shards. Hand them over."
"..."
"Are you not going to say anything?"
"Why should I? You've already made it clear you're not listening. I'm not handing over the shards. Not until you stop all of this. Can't you see that this world doesn't need to be changed? Just take a look at it all. Our own universe in this era has merged with completely different universe and become one. Isn't that beautiful enough? Why do you feel the need to change it?"
"There's always room for improvement, Lena. What is this world if not a canvas to be painted? Those who paint it are those who have the power to create a better world. It doesn't matter how big it gets or what new things pop up? They eventually lead to even bigger problems and newer problems. Bigger doesn't always mean better, Lena, and I plan to rectify that when I get the chance.
"It's not yours to make. It's ours. We all have a part to play in this world, no matter what. We can all have a say. It doesn't have to be just one person."
"I think not. My world will be built on one say and that will be it. If there is only one decision, then the path this new world will go down won't have to worry about anything else. It'll all be united by one single thing. I'll be the one to decide what it was."
"But that's so much history that'll be lost! I thought you loved Mythology, Volo?! Why?!" Lena would scream, her voice creaking a bit.
"I do. But it's never given me all the answers I needed, only showed me towards my purpose. The very end of Mythology itself is Arceus himself. That is what it's all been leading to. Just like how we had that discussion back at Hisui, I alone will become the new deity." Volo would point upwards. "I'll finish what my ancestors started."
"I don't know all about your ancestors, but from what I've seen of their remnants, they'd never want something like this!"
"They wouldn't. But I do. I and Cynthia are the last of them all so it is my decision. I spoke a few times about returning to my time after my decision is complete and that is only partially true. Once I accomplish my goal, I'll go to the very beginning. The beginning of a new universe and watch over all life from there, making sure it's the world I envisioned. And..." Volo would then hold his hand out once ore. "Perhaps then, you'll join me when we meet up one day."
"...Never." But Lena was adamant in that decision.
"You won't have a choice in the matter at the end, Lena. I'll be the one who makes all the decisions. Now..." Volo would then reveal the Life Plates he currently had, releasing their energy and no longer holding them back. He would also unleash the power of the Dragon Shard to create this powerful resonance.
Lena gasped as Volo was fully willing to unleash their destructive power. All 6 of them went off, their power resonating with the shards she had. Volo had forced her shards to activate even though Lena herself was holding them back.
"Ack!" Lena would drop to her knees, the shards she had glowing brightly. They were reacting to the Life Plates, creating a massive reaction that was hurting her since some were in her pocket. "Ugh!"
Above this area, the clouds began to gather due to this powerful divine energy radiating from the Life Plates and Shards. The wind would begin to pick up, the grass blowing a bit harshly. Meowth gasped, looking up at the celestial even that was beginning to occur above.
And speaking of celestial, Volo would once again have the power of the Life Plates and Dragon Shard envelop his body to change into that astral-like form before. This time, with the addition of the Dread Plate which was previously the Dark Shard, but now in its restored form.
"Not like this...!" Lena would continue to struggle, trying to keep the shards under control. However, the sheer force of the Life Plates was affecting her and the shards. The more Volo held it, the worse it got for her.
However, by using the power of the Fairy Shard, Lena managed to soothe her body, giving her the chance to get up and stand. She would then use the Water Shard to give her some coolness since the shards did give off a searing sensation. Even though Volo used the Life Plates to their full destructive potential, Lena had a perfect counter to it, opting for a relaxed variation.
"You won't get them...Not as long as I'm here."
"Figures. I'm not scared to battle for it, Lena." Volo would then throw two Poke Balls into the air, summoning two of his Pokemon. His Gabite and his Hisuian Arcanine.
"Gabite!"
"Arcanine!"
Lena didn't have Pokemon of her own so she had to rely on her skills and the shards themselves. Although, Lena was more keen on avoiding conflict and battling and the shards, despite being destructive, could make that possible. Speaking of destructive, the clouds above would send out violent crackles of Infinity Energy that rained down on this land.
"Here." Volo would gladly let his Pokemon feel the power of the Life Plates, showering them with their awesome power. This time, their forms didn't change, but they did feel an amazing power within them, elevating their strength to new levels. Although, Gabite's body was aggressively pulsating, almost like a vonstant heartbeat.
Lena gasped as she would quickly turn around, prompting Volo to make his move. "Use Dragon Rush, Gabite! Arcanine, use Raging Fury!"
"Ga! Gabite!"
Gabite would charge forward, a stream of draconic energy surrounding its body. Its speed was immense as it was approaching Lena, roaring violently.
Lena would use the power of the Flying Shard to make herself far more nimble and lighweight, narrowly avoiding the attack. She would also use it to take flight, ascending into the air which allowed her to avoid the flames that spewed out of Arcanine's mouth.
"That won't work." Volo would raise the Stone Plate, causing rocks to fly out of the ground itself, aiming to bring Lena down from the air.
"?!" Lena would grimace as the rocks would start chasing her, some aiming to strike her. She would then use the power of the Water Shard, bringing a veil of water around her body. The rocks would not only slow down upon hitting the veil, but would immediately erode away.
"Hm. Smart." Volo smiled, complimenting Lena's quick thinking. Despite lacking any Pokemon, she was still capable of protecting herself. The force of this area coming apart could be felt as the ground itself began opening up. But not just the ground, the sky itself was beginning to open up aswell.
Lena turned around, looking up to see the skies opening up as they were being torn apart. It was a disaster on a widespead scale since so many shards and Life Plates around each other. A force greater than any hurricane could be felt coming through the torn sky as the clouds would aggressively rumble. Lena groaned as the force pushed her back to the ground, the winds and everything else were far too much.
"Arceus..." Lena would try to resist the forces, but the pressure was pushing her to the ground.
"Lena!" Meowth would cry out, not knowing what to do.
"Meowth, run! Get out of here!" Lena wanted Meowth to be as safe as possible. The same goes for all the Pokemon here and Jessie and James. No harm should come to them.
"But what about you?!"
"Just go!"
"..." Meowth would reluctantly leave, not wanting to stay here and get caught in this mess.
"I'd listen to her if I were you." Volo would walk past Meowth, intimidating him to the point where he couldn't move. Using the power of the Ice Shard, Volo began freezing the ground tself, attempting to freeze Lena in place. A flash-freeze of sorts.
"Ugh...!" Lena would struggle, but the more she struggled, the more the ice would grow. It wasn't over yet for her. Lena knew that using more shards would just cause a greater risk but she had no choice in this scenario. By using the power of the Steel Shard, she would shatter all the ice that formed around her, freeing her from its grasp.
Lena took a deep breath before revitalizing herself with the Electric Shard, giving herself a jolt. Lena then looked around to see all the nearby Pokemon fleeing for their lives in the wake of their homes being totalled by this rising disaster. However, this would extend beyond just this area due to the immense power gathering up in one spot.
The Crystal Empire.
Over at the Crystal Empire, its residents could feel the pressure all the way from here It went straight to the North of Equestria, the empire feeling the rippling effects of this catastrophe. The civillians were asked to stay inside of their homes, leaving only the royal guards to handle it.
"What's going on?!" Cadence would exclaim, looking outside. "Who's doing this?!"
"I'm not sure, your majesty! We don't seen ayone else but...that!" The guard would say, turning everyone's attention to the Infinity Energy storm above. It got so massive that it reached here of all places and there was no telling just how widespread it was.
"Lena..." The older Flurry Heart already had an inkling as it what it was. If it isn't the cause of any magic, then it had to be Pokemon-related. And so far, the shards have been the biggest talking point of it all.
Ash and his friends were already planning on reaching Lena, knowing that Volo was going for her next. By having Slurpuff lead the way, they were currently on a train to get around much faster. Twilight and the others returned to their original forms now that they were back in Equestria while Sci-Ti kept herself asa Human thanks to her own Shift Stone. And during their trip, they witnessed the Infinity Storm above along with the tear in the sky.
"That looks like the biggest one yet! Don't tell me Volo's found more shards?!" Twilight would bellow. "Unless he's just that close to Lena and her shards?!"
The results of such a terror would show themselves as the Infinity Storm's lightning would crash down, hitting the train tracks. This caused the entire vehicle to shake, shaking the passengers and their respective Pokemon. A fearsome energy ran across the vehicle, the sheer force of it all making it unstable.
"Kyaaah!" The girls sreamed along with many of the passengers on board. With the train tracks greatly damaged and the vehice taking a beating from all of this energy, everyone here was at great risk of being hurt.
As the storm increased, the train would be pushed off course, the rails breaking. The train would then fall off the edge, heading towards the ocean below.
"N-Not like this!" Fluttershy would quickly bring out her Poke Ball, unleashing her Bayleef from within. She had to count on Bayleef's Fate-Changing Leaf to save them all in this instance. "Bayleef, please!"
"Bay!" Bayleef knew what to do. She would harness the power of her leaves, a cosmic light exuding from the one top of her head. A chunk of her leaf flew off before touching Fluttershy's face. And upon touching her face, it would unleash a white light that enveloped everyone's body, including the entire train.
In that instance, Bayleef had changed fate, the force of the collision causing the train to flip over instead of falling into the ocean. It would also fix the train tracks, but obviously, such an action drained Bayleef greatly. Thankfully, she had the Sun to heal her gradually.
Everyone would turn their attention to the ocean, seeing the waves become rather violent. The water was becoming extremely choppy, the waves increasing in size.
Ash would then look in the distance, worrying about his ancestor, hoping that she was alright. At this rate, more and mmore will get hut if Volo is not stopped. His pursuit for power was getting more and more unhinged.
"Grandma..."
Back with Lena, she wanted to help save all the Pokemon here, but the problem was, she couldn't. Not with Volo and his Pokemon being here.
"Ugh, ugh, ugh!" Lena would groan, trying to move.
"Give it up, Lena. You're not going anywhere." Volo would smirk, holding the Life Plates in his hand. "The more you struggle, the worse it'll get. But I suppose that's the type of person you are. Always trying to help those who can't help themselves. But it's in vain. No matter how much effort you put in, no matter how much you try, it'll always be in vain. Because I'll be the one to decide everything. That's the reason why I'm here."
"Then I'm here for a reason to." Lena would find the strength to stand up. She wiped the dust off her face as her clothes were scratched thanks to hitting the ground earlier. "Volo...You're not the only one with some kind of destiny."
"What's that?" Volo narrowed his eyes at such a response.
"You should already know this. There's a reason why I was flung through time. There's a reason why I was sent to Hisui. I wasn't just randomly chosen at all. I didn't understand why I was suddenly brought to Hisui all of a sudden, away from my own era and far past my time. But now that I've spent enough time in Hisui and even you, I know why I'm here. To stop you!"
"Kh!" Volo's eyes widened, hearing her words. He was taken aback by this revelation. "You...You're lying!"
"I'm not." Lena would declare. "And just like back in Hisui, my onw ancestor and his friends are getting in your way. I'd say it's more than just pure coincedence, don't you think?"
"That so? You're telling me destiny put me against you? You honestly think it wants me to fail? What nonsense. But honestly...that doesn't seem impossible." He would palm his own face while chuckling at such a possibility. "In that case, only one side of destiny is allowed to win and I intend to steer the hands of fate to my side. And it starts with all the advantages I have. Behold!" He would then point at the scene before Lena, seeing how it was getting worse for the Pokemon who wer running out of spaces to flee towards.
"!" Lena, refusing to stand around any longer, would run towards the Pokemon, attempting to help them while Volo simply stood by and watched.
"Hmph. As expected." Volo would watch Lena, her body surrounded by the power of the Fairy Shard to protect herself from the crashing lightning from above.
Lena used the full capabilites of each shard she had on her to protect and save these Pokemon, not sparing anything for a moment. Using the power of the Ground Shard, she managed to close massive gaps that threatened to drop the Pokemon into a deep chasm, saving their lives.
She would do this repeatedly, closing aup any massive holes or tears in the ground. Lena would do her absolute best, not leaving a single soul behind. With the power of the Steel Shard, any falling debris was penetrated by a sharp energy, crumbling into bits. The ground continued to break apart, the earth itself not being able to take the pressure of the Life Plates and the Shards.
"If I use the Electric Shard now...!" She would try to focus, using the power of the Electric Shard to shield herself and the Pokemon from the incoming lightning, allowing their bodies to become immune.
After dealing with the lightning, Lena then used the power of the Ground Shard to open up a path that would take all the Pokemon away from this area, granting them safe passage.
All the Pokemon would book it, moving through this passageway Lena granted them, not slowing down for a moment. But they made sure to thank Lena, being grateful to her. She put her life on the line just to keep them safe. With the power of the Electric Shard, any Infinity Lightning that came down was negated, doing nothing to them all.
Lena smiled while seeing all of them safely escape. As for the Water-Types, she made sure to use the Water Shard, creating a stream for them all to pass through which was connected to the safe passageway. Lena made fll use of these shards for the safest reasons and it showed.
However, as soon as all of them left, Lena felt her body being helt by a Psychic power, causing her to grunt and gasp. She would slowly turn around, seeing that Volo had used the Mind Plate to hold Lena in place.
"Ugh!"
"I'll admit, you did a good job. I can see that you've improved since Hisui. All the same, your efforts are futile. No matter what you do, no matter how much you resist, I'll always have the upper hand. It's the sole purpose of the universe, after all. I can't have you ruining it." Volo would approach her, his foot touching the surface of the ground which caused it to shake a bit.
Lena attempted using the other shards to break free, only for Volo to use the Ghost Shard, summoning spectral chains from below that would restrain her.
"Ack! Ugh!" Her wrists were specifically targeted, preventing her from harnessing the power of the shards. Lena couldn't clench or focus her mind since the spectral power was harming her and invading her mind. ANd of course, the power of the Mind Plate was already invading her mind. Volo attempted to put Lena under a form of mind control, hoping to turn her to his side, but that proved to be much harder than expected.
So, Volo just focused on getting the shards and in Lena's current condition, she couldn't retaliate anymore. She grit her teeth as Volo approached with a smir, knowing he had her beaten in this instance.
"I'll be taking these off you, Lena." Using the power of the Spooky Plate once more, he made his hand phase through Lena's hands, gripping the shards she had on her and snatching them.
"No...!" Lena closed her eyes as she failed to keep the shards out of Volo's grasp. She tried struggling as much as possible but it was no use. The chains were too strong for her and she had no other shards to use in this instance.
The Fairy, Flying, Water, Ground, Electric and Steel Shards were now in Volo's possession. However, Volo wasn't done here ust yet. There was just one thing he had to do before he could depart.
"Just one last thing...You said it was destiny that brought us together, right? well, perhaps this is a major reason for you being flung through time. So I'll be taking that off you as well!" Volo referred to the mysterious Arceus Egg in Lea's body, aiming to remove that as well.
He would phase his hand through Lena's chest, intending to steal the egg. Lena let out a haunting cry as she could feel the Arceus Egg being ripped out of her body. A divine light would aggressively crackle out of her, and due to the fact that the Dread Plate was also a part of him, a dark aura would erupt.
"Gaaah!" Tears would form in her eyes, her heart feeling empty as the egg was being removed. It was a different kind of pain, a pain that was unimaginable. It was the worst pain she's ever experienced in her life.
"Ugh...!" Volo grunted, pulling his arm back. In his grasp was the very source of Lena's powers. The Arceus Egg.
"Hah, hah, hah, hah..." Lena's eyes were wide, her face pale.
"Unbelievable...So this is what you've had in you all along?" Volo would admire the Arceus Egg, the radiance of the Divine Pokemon's power shining brightly. "No wonder you could use the power of the shards as well as I could."
Volo found the reason for Lena's ability to use the shards despite not being one of the Celestica People. This special egg was now longer within her. The very thing that led to her being chosen to appear in Hisui was gone. And to make matters worse, Volo now had a majority of the shards on him.
Lena's body was limp, the strength to stand up having completely vanished. The chains were gone, and the power of the Life Plates and the Shards were no longer radiating off her. As the Infinty Storm lingered above the skies, crackling its Infinity Energy, Volo stood over Lena, triumphant in this struggle.
