My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Strength Beyond Alpha
Previous ChapterNext ChapterKalos. Nightfall.
Volo made his getaway but his next target was clear. He was heading straight for Lena, aiming to get the other shards from her since he was this close to his goal. And even when leaving, he managed to leave behind the threat of the Alpha Pokemon. At this moment, the confused Alpha Pokemon were running wild, each far from their respective homes. Handling them were the Pokemon Rangers, having their hands full with the dangerous and aggressive Pokemon.
"Man, there's a bunch of 'em!" A Ranger exclaimed, trying to hold back a rampaging Alpha Vespiquen.
"So these are what Apllpha Pokemon are like!" Another Ranger exclaimed, barely hanging onto a tree. "And to think they just up and vanished one day!"
"Vespi!" The Vespiquen would roar, unleashing a screech that would send chills down their spines. The same could be said for many other locations that the Alpha Pokemon have appeared in. Thankfully, all the Pokemon Rangers managed to keep them away from any cities or towns, but it was only a matter of time before the situation would escalate.
Because they were Alpha Pokemon, their strength was not something that could be easily dealt with. They were much stronger than a normal member of their respective species, making it a tall task to calm them down.
However, it was not impossible. With the aid of the Pokemon Rangers, the Alpha Pokemon would eventually calm down, their rage subsiding.
Near a lake, an Alpha Scyther attempted slashing at some Pokemon that lived here, holding nothing back whatsoever, only for Ash's Dragonite to swoop in, catching Scyther's claws.
"Scy!"
"Dra...!" Dragonite would snarl at Scyther after catching its claws, restraining its movements. Despite not being an Alpha Pokemon, Dragonite had the strength to compete.
"Dragonite! Use Hyper Beam!" Ash would bellow as Dragonite opened her mouth while holding onto Scyther.
"Drago...!" A huge flow of Infinity Energy was gathering into one spot as Scythier's eyes widened, fearing what was coming next. But it was unable to retaliate or even fly away from the up-close Hyper Beam.
"Scy...Scyther!" Scyther tried shaking its head, not wanting to deal with this, but it was too late.
"Nite!" Dragonite's mouth would open up, firing a massive beam of energy right at the Bug-Flying-Type, the force being so great that it would knock Scyther's entire body into the water, causing a large splash.
"Scy...?" Scyther groaned, its body soaked as it swam across the lake, having not drowned. The crimson glow in its eyes would fade away, ending its aggressive rampage. Ash had dealt with the Alpha Pokemon on his side and was counting on the others to handle some of them.
"Use Rollout, Whirlipede!" Rainbow Dash would command.
"Wheeee!" Whirlipede would spin at high speeds, its body building up more and more momentum as it would tackle the parasitic mushroom, its hard shell clanging against the exoskeleton.
"Sect!" Parasect's eyes would widen before being sent flying, its body tossed into a nearby tree. It would get right back up, ready to keep fighting.
"Rollout! Again!"
"Pede!" Whirldipede would roll up before zig-zagging towards Parasect, going at an incredible speed. Thanks to Speed Boost, he was faster than before and thanks to Rollout's main effect, the attack had increased, giving it some extra power.
"Paras!" Parasect would try and get out of the way, but it was too late. Whirlipede would strike Parasect dead on with tremendous force, knocking it out. "Parasect..." With the crimson glow in its eyes fizzling out, Rainbow Dash had dealt with this Alpha Pokemon, putting on a proud grin.
"Heh too easy."
And speaking of too easy, in unison, Pinkie Pie and Rarity managed to overwhelm an Alpha Torterra which was by far the largest out of the Alpha Pokemon have appeared so far, but that didn't deter them. The way they overwhelmed it was by sheer numbers. Pinkie Pie's 6 Slurpuff and Rarity's 12 Leavanny would easily put the pressure on Alpha Torterra, keeping him busy.
A barrage of X-Scissors, Dazzling Gleams, Bug Buzzes, Leaf Storms, Fairy Winds Aerial Aces and so on were unleashed, some super-effective when they landed. And since the Slurpuff were the ones staying back for the most part, they provided ranged support with their Dazzling Gleams and Fairy Winds while the Leavanny mostly got up close and personal but would also attack from afar at times. Some would even use String Shot on Torterra to slow down its already slow movements.
"Torterraaaa!" Alpha Torterra would cry out, his body covered in a thick string. On top of that, his movements were slowed down even further, thanks to the cotton that was sticking to his body.
"Now, use Play Nice!" Pinkie Pie bellowed as three of her Slurpuff unleashed a calming aura, their attacks being gentle and soft. This would cause the Alpha Pokemon to calm down, his ferocious attitude disappearing.
"Tor..." He would groan, his eyes becoming half-lidded. Play Nice seemed to be rather effective against the rage of the Alpha Pokemon, even if it did take three Slurpuff to do it. It was good to know that some moves could stop their rampage without any action involved. The Pokemon of this area had great sighs of relief as that could've gotten out of control fast, especially with Torterra being that massive.
"There, there. Everything's gonna be okay." Pinkie Pie would walk over to the Alpha Pokemon, gently patting its head, the other Slurpuff doing the same. Torterra was genuinely confused, forgetting what he was even doing in the first place. "Sorry if we were a bit too hard on you. It happens sometimes. Here, have a cupcake."
To remedy this, Pinkie Pie whipped out a cupcake for Torterra to snack on. Rarity would sigh after dealing with this issue in such a swift way, but she knew they weren't quite done yet. The fashionista looked up at the night sky were all the Time Leaks were still lingering there even after Volo's departure.
"What do you suppose we should do about those Time Leaks, darling? We can't leave them be, especially if more of those Alpha Pokemon are bound to come through."
"Not like we can close them." Pinkie replied while having Torterra chew away.
"Maybe we can. Now we know how they can open up and it involves the power of those plates. If we had our hands on multiple Life Plates, we could close them without a doubt."
"Oh yeah..." It clicked for Pinkie Pie. Quite the easy answer that was always present. After all, the whole reason the Time Leaks first appeared was the same reason Lena and Volo were flung into the present. It was all thanks to the Life Plates being used by Volo in a destructive way. And sincewhat was used to open them were the Life Plates, no doubt, they can close them up once more.
Meanwhile, Sunset and Sci-Twi had come across an Alpha Pokemon recently, watching it tear down the hoes of the Pokemon living here. Specifically, an Alpha Wailren. Its ice would begin freezing spots of this area in seconds, its sharp icicles piercing the ground.
"Wail! Wailren!" The Alpha Pokemon would roar, its icy breath scattering throughout the area.
"We'll finish up here and then meet up with everyone else." Sunset spoke having her Pyroar stand next to her. "Then, when tomorrow comes, we'll know where to go. Straight to Lena since Volo's going for her next.
"Mm. After what happened back there, I can't believe Volo would go that far." Sci-Twi still couldn't believe Volo went through such lengths just to reach his goal. It was just mindblowing and heartbreaking. A part of her was still attached to Volo.
"It's in the past now. The only thing we can do about it is stop him before it all gets way too out off control.
"Yeah." She would nod. Her smile attempting to form into a frown but failing. With her Poke Ball out, she threw it into the air, summoning her Alpha Rapidash. "Appear, Rapidash!"
"Rapidash!" The Alpha Pokemon would gallop forward, standing in front of her trainer.
Both had their respective Fire-Types out, grabbing Wailren's attention. In Sci-Twi, a fire was burning. One that was determined to stop Volo and everything he's done, which greatly involves the Alpha Pokemon he's summoned. Sci-Twi, who had come to terms with Volo's actions, had an even stronger drive than ever. And by extension, making her stronger overall.
"Pyroar, use Flamethrower!"
"Rapidash, Fire Blast!"
"Py...!" Together, the two Fire-Types would release their powerful flames, the intense heat melting away the ice that was being spewed out.
"Ren!" Alpha Wailren would roar, not taking this attack lying down. It would attempt to counter with another burst of Ice Beam, but the overwhelming power of the fire would manage to overcome its attack, melting it completely. Wailren's eyes widened as it was blasted by these blazing attacks.
"W-Wail!"
"Go, Pyroar! Dig!"
"Roar!" Quickly, Pyroar would burrow his way into the ground, travelling through the earth while Wailren was staggered by the initial hit.
"Rapidash, use Smart Strike!"
"Dash!" Rapidash would raise her horn, charging it up with the power of the sun. Her horn would glow a bright orange before rushing at Wailren, thrusting her horn straight into the stomach. "Dash!" The Alpha Pokemon would wail out, staggering back before falling on its side.
That allowed Pyroar to follow up by emerging from the ground, bashing his body against Wailren the second it fell to the side, sending the Ice-Water-Type upwards. The Fire-Types didn't give Wailren enough time to make a counterattack as it was now airborne, lingering there for a while before finally falling.
"High Horsepower!"
"Rapi!" But before Wailren could even hit the ground, Rapidash would charge up her hind legs, performing a powerful kick. "Das!" Upon impact, a massive cloud of dust was kicked up, obscuring the view.
"Fire Blast!" Truly, they weren't holding anything back, especially Sci-Ti. Rapidash would unleash another Fire Blast, unloading it on Wailren and staggering it even more. Even Wailren was confused as to why it couldn't keep up.
"Waillll!" And after the smoke cleared, the Alpha Pokemon would have a crimson aura around its body disappear, its eyes returning to normal. But Sci-Twi wasn't done just yet. There was one thing she had to do. In her hand, she held another Poke Ball, this time, with the intention of catching Wailren. She did make a promise to catch as many Alpha Pokemon as possible and that goal was still active even after everything that's happened.
"Poke Ball, Go!" She would lob the ball at Wailmer, the sphere expanding upon contact and sucking him in.
1...2...3...Gotcha!
Wailren was caught.
After the catch was successful, she walked over to the Poke Ball, picking it up. An Alpha Pokemon was stopped successfully and was now a part of Sci-Twi's team.
The Pokemon here rejoiced after Sci-Twi and Sunset had saved their home from the rampaging Wailmer, even melting all the ice here thanks to the fierce Fire Attacks that were unleashed. Their job here was done. At least for this area. Sunset wiped her forehead, glad to have dealt with that situation.
"That puts an end to that. Honestly, after battling Volo, even Alpha Pokemon don't seem as intimidating or as powerful anymore." Sunset commented.
"Yeah." Sci-Twi smiled before turning to her friends. "Alright, let's hurry and meet up with the others. We need to get ready for tomorrow."
"You're right. We got a lot of work to do." Sunset nodded, the two of them riding on the backs of their Pokemon.
Sunset's Pyroar would carry her on his back while Sci-Twi would ride on the back of Alpha Rapidash. Together, they would rush towards the others, wanting to join them in stopping the Alpha Pokemon and also dealing with the Time Leaks.
Overnight, all the Alpha Pokemon that have been seen so far had been stopped, calmed down immediately by the combined efforts of AThe Pokemon Rangers, Ash and friends. They had their hands full, but they managed to get the job done.
And the morning would come, the sunlight shining down on their tired bodies as they had all gathered up in Lumiose City.
"Man, I don't think I've ever been this beat." Rainbow Dash would yawn, her body aching.
"Yes, and to think, we haven't even had a chance to sleep." Rarity would grumble, having spent the entire night dealing with the Alpha Pokemon.
"But we managed to help out those Pokemon." Applejack would smile. "All we gotta do now is find Volo. Again."
"Mhm. Slurpuff can handle that." Pinkie Pie would proudly say, counting on Slurpuff to track Volo down via his scent.
"Since we were dealing with all the Alpha Pokemon, he's probably gotten far by now. But I know we're not too late." Twilight would reply.
"Well, we can't just sit here and wait. Let's go." Ash would declare, his body not aching for even a moment. Even when pulling an all-nighter, he till had the strength to carry on.
"Right." Everyone would nod, following after him.
"Wait, hold on a minute." Sci-Twi would speak up, causing everyone to stop. "Before we go, there's something you need to hear."
"What is it, Twi?"
"It's about the Time Leaks. We know how to close them, but we're lacking the Life Plates. However, there is a way to close them without the use of the plates."
"Really? How?"
"I've been thinking about it for a while. The reason the Time Leaks appeared was because of the Life Plates. So, if we can replicate the same energy that the Life Plates have, then we can close them."
"Replicate the same energy? You mean, like, Infinity Energy?"
"Exactly. If we can harness the raw power of Infinity Energy, we can close the Time Leaks. And the best way to do that is to have a Pokemon that can use it. Obviously, we don't have that right now. Volo has access to it thanks to the Life Plates. I doubt if we were to all use our strongest moves to their best levels, it still wouldn't do a thing."
"But Lena has some shards on her." Sunset pointed out. "She could probably shut them down if she uses those shards. Even if they're not as powerful as the Life Plates, if a lot of them are together, then it could be possible."
"I see, I see. The problem is that they get so out of control when gathered." Rarity sighed. "It's far too risky having 5 or more shards close to each other. It could cause a disaster."
"So, we're gonna have to rely on Volo to gather all the Life Plates." Rainbow Dash would cross her arms. "He's the only one who can do it."
"Yeah, and we're not letting him do that." Ash would shake his head. "No way we're letting him get all the Life Plates. He's not going to win."
"Ash is right. We're not going to let him do that. We're going to stop him before it's too late. That's why we're going to have to do the next best thing. We're going to have to stop him before he can get his hands on the last few shards. And once we stop him, we'll use the Life Plates to close up the Tme Leaks." Twilight added.
Once this conversation was done, they would all start following Slurpuff's lead, the Fairy-Type sniffing the air, trying to pick up Volo's scent. "Slurpuff!" The Meringue Pokemon would point forward, leading the way.
Equestria. North of Equestria. Blockfire Hotel. Day.
Back in Equestria, the day had risen and it was time for Lena and the others to continue their journey. With a full stomach and some rest under their belts, the group was ready to take on the day.
"Thank you for your hospitality," Jessie said, her voice tinged with genuine gratitude.
"Yes, thank you," James added, nodding in agreement.
"No problem, dearies," Elderly Rose replied, smiling kindly. "Now, get out there and be safe, alright? And don't forget, the journey is just as important as the destination. May the stars guide you on your quest."
"Thanks. We'll keep that in mind," Lena nodded before holding out her four shards, seeing how they were still glowing when next to each other. It was worth nothing that they were trying to let out an even brighter light, which meant that another shard was somewhere near or far, but not too far enough. "Now to pick up where we left off. The next shard is still somewhere in the North. They're still glowing after all, so whoever has it hasn't left the North just yet. Let's head out."
The four of them were off, departing from this nice hotel and heading back out into the cold.
"Brrrr! It's still freezing out here!" Meowth shivered, his body trembling.
"You're telling me. It's not even winter and it's already this cold." Jessie would rub her shoulders, her body shivering.
"Don't worry, it's not that far. Just a little bit more and we'll reach the next town."
"How can you tell?"
"Because the glow is getting stronger. Which means whoever has that shard is on the move and is pretty close. We'll pick up the pace right away and I know exactly how to do that." From her large bag, Lena would take out the Azure Flute, relying on the Noble Pokemon once more.
Lena would raise the Azure Flute to her lips, playing a beautiful melody. The sound would echo throughout the area, reaching the ears of a certain Pokemon to help traverse the snow. As a crack in the sky that interacted with time itself appeared, jumping out of it was Wyrdeer, who was flung from the past.
"Wyrdeer!" The Big Horn Pokemon would land on the ground, shaking his body. Once here, Lena and Team Rocket got on his back. Lena then looked at the shards, seeing that their glow haven't wained even once. And she was going to make sure that they don't as Wyrdeer ran off in the direction Lena told him to.
The Normal-Psychic-Type was off, dashing through the snowy plains, his hooves kicking up the snow. Lena gripped onto the shards tightly, making sure that one of them would be held back since she had four of them at her disposal. Once they get close to that fifth shard, it will cause a violent reaction and she wasn't about to let that happen.
Even though she wasn't a descendant of the Celestica People, thanks to that Arceus-Shaped Egg she ate in the past, she was able to utilize their power, just like Volo.
Brighter and brighter the shards would get and faster and faster Wyrdeer would move, passing by many Pokemon and their habitats. So far, no harm has been done to any area by whoever was possessing the shard, so Lena had to assume it wasn't someone dangerous. At least, from what she's decided so far.
"There's the next town!" James would point ahead, spotting the next town.
"Alright, let's hurry and get there." Lena pointed onwards. "Wyrdeer, use Giga Impact!"
"Deer!" The Normal-Psychic-Type would increase his speed, running even faster than before. Team Rocket would scream, wailing at the top of their lungs while Lena had the brightest look on her face. But it did the trick, the boost of Giga Impact helping them get to the town much faster. Wyrdeer would then come to a halt right at the entrance of this town that was covered in snow, resting in it as it were liquid in a cup while a strong lack of light was seen.
"Nice, we made it." Lena would hop off, her feet landing on the snow.
"Why are you like this, Lena...?" Jessie would sigh, her body trembling.
"Like Ancestor like Descendant, I suppose" James would reply.
"Thank you, Wyrdeer. You can return now." With that, Wyrdeer's body would return to the past, his body flashing with a brilliant light as he would dissipate from this era.
The group would walk into the town, their eyes adjusting to the darkness. There was a distinct lack of light here, but that didn't bother them. It was unnaturally dark though. This whole area was nestled around a huge chunk of snow after all but there fact that not a single bit of light was showing was unnerving. Especially since the buildings here didn't look newly made.
Present here were the civilians of this town. They would all look at Lena's group once they arrived, staying silent and not saying a thing. All these ponies and their respective Pokemon looked to be rather tired and drained, their bodies looking weak.
"Uh...hello?" Lena would wave her hand, trying to get their attention. "We're looking for a shard."
"..."
"Hello?"
"..."
"Anyone?"
"..."
"What's wrong with them?" Meowth would ask, his fur standing on end.
"I'm not sure. Maybe they're just tired." Lena would try and think of a reason.
"I don't think that's it." Jessie would reply. "They're not moving. Not a single bit."
"And their eyes are glazed over." James would add.
"That's not good." Lena would frown, not liking the sight before her.
"What's not good?" A voice would speak, echoing through this snowy civillization, causing the group to turn around.
"Who's there?" Lena would turn her head, the sound of her shoes crunching the snow.
"Me." The voice would speak again, revealing themselves. Lena and the others found the source of the voice as there was a small bit of light up ahead, glinting in this darkness and in front of a small building. The one possessing was a young colt, who sat next to his Pichu. But the Pichu was not the cause of the light. Not at all.
It was the Electric Shard.
Lena gasped as another shard had been found, the shard being the cause of the light. It was the only piece of light in this entire place, standing out immensely. "You have a shard!" Lena would exclaim before running over. Pichu immediately got in front of his trainer, electricity sparking out of his body as he did not want Lena getting close for even a moment.
"Pichu...!" Out of all the Pokemon here, Pichu looked the most lively, not drained whatsoever. Lena came to a halt once Pichu growled at her, obviously taking it as a sign that he didn't want her close.
This whole sight was rather haunting to Lena as she could already deduce what was happening here. This town looks to be suffering from all this snow and cold and the only semblance of light they have is this Electric Shard, found by the little pony. And since it was the only piece of light, no wonder Pichu was standing in Lena's way.
This was the first time Lena or anyone else saw another way the shards were being used. Instead of causing large levels of destruction or trying to reach another dimension or being, they instead were used for the sake of others. However, it didn't seem like there was that much of a reaction at all.
And all the while, Volo was making his way here.
As the journey continues.
