Celestia vs Daybreaker

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Outskirts of Equestria. Nightfall.

Celestia and Daybreaker were now face to face at last. The two alicorns stared each other down, neither of them saying anything. It was a tense moment for both of them, but it was Celestia who broke the silence first.

"Daybreaker. I've come to talk." She used her Royal Canterlot Voice to reach Daybreaker from this distance.

"Talk?" Daybreaker raised an eyebrow, also using that same voice. "What is there to talk about?"

"About Necrozma. To stop you from having him absorb absolutely everything."

"That's why you came here? And here I thought you would immediately start attacking the second you showed up." Daybreaker smirked. "You actually want to talk? How come you didn't talk to Nightmare Rarity or even Empress Twilight when they were issues at the time?"

"After what I've heard from your past, I couldn't bring myself to judge you so easily. Not after what you've been through. And even though I already know how big of a threat you are, for this, I'd like to put an end to it as soon as possible. Without any destruction."

"Without any destruction? You're funny." Daybreaker chuckled. "But I'm afraid that's not going to happen. I'm here to do what I must for Necrozma. You and I are still the same being after all, so you should know how important our promises must be kept."

"I understand that, but this isn't the way to go about it. And any danger to my subjects is always something I will do my best to stop. Even if it means stopping you." Celestia said. "I want it all to come to an end here, Daybreaker. So that we may all go on with our lives peacefully."

"Pah. For me, peace is much harder fought for than what you have to go through." Daybreaker narrowed her eyes. "You may think that your universe is being put through the wringer, having to come across so many threats and such minimal time to rest and be away from it all. In my universe, that was no longer the case. I spent years tackling so many threats that greatly outnumber what you have seen so far, having to prioritise the safety of my subjects over anything else. And even then, I still lost so much. Do you know how I see peace?"

"?"

"Absolute peace can never come so naturally. The values I held before could only get me so far, Celestia. Things such as the Magic of Friendship, Harmony, and Unity were ideals that I once believed in. But now, I know better. As strong as they are, they have their limits. Reality is cruel, Celestia. You and I have both seen it at its most volatile. This is the truth of reality. And I've learned to accept it. I've accepted it because I know that's how the world works."

"Daybreaker..." Celestia frowned.

"The only way to bring peace is with power unmatched by anyone. To do so means to control the flow of the world. Fate itself, even. I've dedicated everything to seeing that realized. What you have, won't last. I can promise that to you."

"You're wrong! What I have will always be around, whether it's under my rule or by someone else that will one day take my place." Celestia greatly object to such a statement.

"Really now? Even though you also have your own Daybreaker within you?"

"?!" Celestia gasped, knowing this was true. Daybreaker was still within her, lurking and lingering, waiting to erupt and take over.

"That's right. You haven't managed to erase that part of you yet. And how could you?Just like how Nightmare Moon is always a part of Luna, Daybreaker will always be a part of you. Much like how she was always within me and I finally awakened into her. The fact that she is eternally within you proves a lot, doesn't it? And you can't remove her. Not for a moment."

"I've been making sure to prevent myself from ever becoming her. My friends and family feel the same way. I'd hate myself if I ever became like you, abandoning everything I've held dear to me. I never want such a reality to come to pass."

"Oh, but it will. You may think you can avoid it, but it'll happen eventually. It's inevitable. The more you try to fight it, the more it will consume you. It's only a matter of time before you give in to your inner self. And when that happens, you will become me. There's no escaping it."

"No...I refuse to believe that!" Celestia shook her head. "I will never become you! Never!"

"We'll see about that." Daybreaker smirked. "But for now, I'm afraid we must put this conversation on hold. I already know what that veil you've put up does. Any ship that passes through it will be shut down immediately. I have the same spell after all but the Solar Sword is an exception to that rule."

"What?"

"Pierce through." Daybreaker ordered as the Solar Sword would begin to move forward. It began piercing through the veil, causing it to ripple violently. Celestia tried to stop it, but the sheer force of the Solar Sword was too much for her to handle. She grunted, trying to keep the veil together, but it was no use.

However, a smirk suddenly formed on her face as she had something else up her sleeve. Obviously, Celestia did not come alone, but her own forces were hidden until now. Daybreaker raised an eyebrow as she suddenly saw the veil regenerating each time the Solar Sword tried piercing through it.

"?!" Daybreaker gasped as she looked at the radar. She saw that from below, in the distance, the Canterlot Guards had their Pokemon power Celestia's veil from afar. They were using their own energy to help her maintain it. Standing in front of all the Pokemon was Celestia's Gardevoir, Passion. She held her arms up, pouring her magic into this veil and giving it its stellar strength.

"Gardevoir!" The Embrace Pokemon cried out as the veil managed to recover fully. The Solar Sword, despite its amazing strength, could not piece this veil which was also being supported by amazing strength. But it did more than just hold the ship back. The veil would expand, reaching out to the many ships up ahead.

The Siphon Rods and Flux Capacitors would be affected by this veil, losing power as they were shut down. The Pokemon trapped inside of them would be freed as the storage units would break apart. hey gasped as they fell to the ground, breathing heavily. Their bodies had still lost a lot of energy, some being completely drained.

However, Celestia wasn't just getting help from her troops and her Pokemon. She had even more extended help nearby. Situated almost near the outskirts of Equestria were the Pokemon Rangers. Their job was to ensure that Daybreaker is slowed down as much as possible. Currently, they were using their own machine.

A machine specifically designed to sabotage Daybreaker's creation. Made by the brilliant minds of at the Ranger Union, it was able to do one thing. It was capable of creating a barrier that would prevent any light from passing through it. This would be used to stop Daybreaker's plan of having Necrozma absorb all the light in the universe.

This machine was called the Light Barrier Generator.

"This should do it!" One of the rangers said as the others nodded their heads. They would begin to activate the machine, turning it on. A large beam of light would shoot out of the top of it, forming a barrier around the area.

"It's working! The Doctor outdid himself with this one!"

"Right!" The rangers nodded their heads as they watched the barrier form. It would surround the entire area, preventing anything from entering or leaving. "Let's see how she likes this!"

Thanks to this Light Barrier Generator, any remaining Siphon Rods and Flux Capacitors would be unable to pull anymore light, being blocked off completely. Such a creation was only natural since Daybreaker has been such a problem recently. To stop her, making sure Necrozma never gets to full power was the main objective so the Light Barrier Generator was an item that had to exist. It just had to.

"Something's blocking them..." Daybreaker uttered, seeing that her items weren't pulling anymore light in. "Celestia..."

"What do we do, your majesty?! We can't push through that veil and we can't draw in anymore light!" A pony asked. "Do we try and-"

"Hold on. Something like this is annoying at best. Celestia came prepared, no doubt. Of course, she would. She is me after all. Whatever she has can counter whatever we have..." Daybreaker would get off her seat. "But so can we. I'll take care of this myself. You all stay here and do what you must."

"Yes, ma'am!" The ponies saluted as Daybreaker would fly away from the Solar Sword. She exited her main ship, hovering over it as she and Celestia locked eyes once more. The Solar Queen would hover there with a smile on her face while looking at the Sun Princess, the tension growing in an instant.

"So. You wish to stop me here and now. That would be a bit anti-climatic, wouldn't it? After all, you've come all this way just to talk to me. And then, you go ahead and do something like this. Why not just attack me right away?"

"Talking to you was my first idea. I wanted to see if that option would triumph in some way, but I suppose not." Celestia said. "Even when knowing why you're doing this, the second option is what has to be done. And the one I've been fixated on the most as of recently. Full-on conflict."

"I was hoping you'd say that. Because when I defeat you, I promise you that you will never grasp on this flawed hope ever again. I'll see to it that your universe is fully drained of its light, giving Necrozma all of his strength back. And you will watch it all play out."

"Hm!" Celestia would then use her magic to bring out one of her Poke Balls. Passion sensed that Celestia was about to begin her battle with Daybreaker, prompting her to teleport next to her partner. Passion appeared, here to support Celestia against such a dangerous foe.

"With you. I'm most definitely going to be slowed down. I'll be 100% honest about that. You have the capability to occupy me and there's not much I can do about it right now. So, to make it simple..." Daybreaker would hold out her own Poke Ball and from it, she summoned her own Gardevoir. Specifically, the Gardevoir that is an Aura Vampire.

"Good evening!" The Embrace Pokemon cried out as she stood by her trainer's side.

"I don't believe it! You became her Trainer?!" Celestia gasped.

"Mhm. We were already in an alliance to begin with but I never had the intention of becoming someone's Pokemon. Obviously, that's changed as you can see. And honestly, it's not so bad. It actually helps me perform much better." She grinned deviously while looking at her fellow Gardevoir.

"Voir...!" Passion frowned.

"This is how you do things in your universe now, right? Pokemon Battles to settle things. Not too shabby of an idea, actually." Daybreaker chuckled. "It just gives me more opportunities to defeat you. And defeat you, I shall!" Her eyes suddenly flashed as she made the first move.

From her horn, she unleashed a stream of flames at Celestia. The Sun Princess reacted quickly, using her own magic to create a barrier around herself and Passion. The flames crashed into the barrier, causing it to ripple violently. Celestia grunted as she tried to keep the barrier up, but Daybreaker wasn't done yet.

Daybreaker would unleash another attack, this time, a beam of light. This attack would crash into the barrier, causing it to crack. The flames were unbelievably hot, burning through the atmosphere itself with ease. Celestia was struggling to maintain the barrier, but she knew she couldn't let it fall. If she did, she and Passion would be burned alive.

"Gardevoir!" Passion cried out as she used her own psychic powers to help Celestia maintain the barrier. The two of them worked together to keep the barrier up, preventing themselves from being burned. Together, they dispersed Daybreaker's flames.

But after dealing with their flames, Daybreaker would unleash another attack. She would spread her wings as they were suddenly covered in wings. These flaming wings grew to great lengths, reaching out far and wide. She would flap her wings, sending them towards the duo.

In response, Celestia and Passion ascended, narrowly avoiding the flaming wings. Even though they avoided it, the force of the wings flapping would send large fireballs raining down onto the ground. They exploded upon impact, creating a massive explosion that shook the area.

Celestia looked down to see this large explosion, seeing that it was still going on. She could only imagine what would happen if one of those hit her. She would look back at Daybreaker, who would retract her wings, getting ready to flap them once more.

"Passion! Use Dazzling Gleam!"

"Garde!" Passion flew forward, generating a grand light around her body, using it as a shield. The wings would fly in once more, this time, hitting Passion's rainbow shield. The Embrace Pokemon grunted as she was pushed back a bit, but she managed to hold her ground. After blocking the wings, she then unleashed a barrage of rainbow rays from her shield, firing them at Daybreaker.

However, stopping these rays was Daybreaker's own Gardevoir, who held her hand out, using Psychic to grab them all. After catching them, Gardevoir would throw the rays back at Passion at greater speeds. "V-Voir?!" Passion would gasp, trying to teleport out of the way, only to be struck by her own attack.

"Gardevoir!" Passion cried out as she fell to the ground, crashing into it. Celestia gasped as she saw Passion fall, but she didn't have time to worry about her partner. Daybreaker was already flying towards her, intending to strike her with her horn. The horn in question was currently ablaze with flames. Celestia would block the attack with her own horn, enveloping it with a bright light, grunting as she tried to push Daybreaker away.

The two alicorns struggled against each other, neither of them giving in. Their horns clashed with one another, causing sparks to fly. Celestia and Daybreaker glared at each other, their eyes locked in a fierce gaze. They both grunted as they pushed against each other, trying to overpower the other.

But Daybreaker had the upper hand. She was actually slightly stronger than Celestia, and she knew it. She smirked as she pushed Celestia back, knocking her off balance. Celestia stumbled backwards, but she quickly regained her composure. She looked up to see Daybreaker's flaming horn grow in length. Much like how Cobalion and the Swords of Justice use their horns as a sword, Daybreaker could do the same, only with magic.

The flaming sword was brought down, prompting the Sun Princess to put up yet another shield. The shield blocked the attack, but the damage it dealt to the area beneath her was tremendous. It would slice the ground open, creating a large fissure that spread across the land.

Flames erupted from that fissure immediately, rising up with the ferocity of a volcano and spreading like a wildfire. Even the clouds had been split from that slash, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. All the Pokemon that could barely move were in danger of being consumed by these violent flames, including Passion, who was still on the ground.

"Garde?!" Passion's eyes widened once she saw the flames spreading rapidly, approaching her and the drained Pokemon as well. Looking back at all these defenceless Pokemon, the Embrace Pokemon would use Psychic to lift them all up. She would then fly away from the flames, carrying them to safety.

But as she managed to save them, descending towards her was the oppossing Gardevoir, who tried to launch a sneak attack on her. Celestia's Gardevo managed to sense the incoming danger, managing to fly out of the way, avoiding an incoming Shadow Ball.

"This is going to be sweet, sweet revenge on my part!" Gardevoir exclaimed once she descended. "You robbed me from my chance at ultimate immortality! And now, I'm going to make you pay for it!"

"Garde...! Gardevoir!"

"Pssh! Don't call me foolish" Gardevoir scoffed at Passion. "At the end of the day, you're still younger than me by many, many centuries. You are nothing but a child in my eyes."

"Voir..." Passion frowned.

"If you were in my position, you would be pursuing that path for immortality so vehemently, I guarantee you. Let me put you in your place!" Gardevoir cackled, using the many magics she's managed to steal for herself. Her body would exude a digital aura, showing that she had managed to get a better grasp of such a difficult magic that she struggled with in the beginning.

She had her hands out, generating a spiral of digital energy around her. This spiralling energy would then fire out at Passion, who flew out of the way. However, the effects of this digital energy showed themselves as soon as it made contact with the ground. The ground would suddenly become glitched, becoming distorted and pixelated.

The grass would turn into a mess of pixels, the trees would lose their leaves, and the water would become a mess of blue squares. The entire area was affected by this strange distortion, making it look like a glitchy mess.

But more importantly, it affected reality, causing Passion's position to change. She gasped as she found herself a few steps back, prompting the energy to hit her. "V-Voir!" She yelped as she was struck by the attack, falling to the ground. She groaned as the Digital Energy crackled out of her body for a bit before fading away.

However, she couldn't lay there forever. Not when Gardevoir was about to use Shadow Ball, imbuing it with Digital Energy and throwing it at her. Celestia's Gardevoir promptly leapt out of the way of the Digital Shadow Ball, but she knew that it could mess with reality so she braced herself for the worst.

And sure enough, the Shadow Ball randomly move from spot to spot at ridiculous speeds. Passion's eyes moved around, trying to track the erratic movements of the Shadow Ball. However, she struggled to do so, the movements being completely unpredictable.

Due to this confusion, it allowed the opposing Gardevoir to stealthily appear behind her. She smirked as she used Psychic to grab Passion, lifting her up. "Gardevoir!" Passion cried out as she struggled against the psychic grip.

"I've got you now!" Gardevoir cackled as she threw Passion towards the ground, intending to slam her into it. But Passion wouldn't let herself be defeated so easily. She stopped herself from crashing into the ground, hovering over it. She looked back at Gardevoir, who was flying towards her.

"Gardevoir!" Passion cried out as she unleashed a powerful Dazzling Gleam, firing it at Gardevoir. The Embrace Pokemon flew forward, unleashing a barrage of rainbow rays at her opponent. Gardevoir grunted as she was hit by the attack, but she managed to endure it. She then flew through the attack, using her own body as a shield.

She would fly past Passion, grabbing her by the neck. "Got you!" Gardevoir exclaimed as she slammed Passion into the ground. The Embrace Pokemon cried out in pain as she crashed into the ground, creating a small crater. Gardevoir would hover above her, smirking as she held her hand out, generating a ball of Dark Energy.

Passion's eyes widened at the ball being thrown at her and at this very moment, Celestia was experiencing the same thing, but it was a massive fireball instead. Together, Celestia and Passion had the same thought even though they were away from each other. They both grit their teeth at the size of this massive attacks, ready to destroy them.

Celestia's horn and eyes lit up while Passion's eyes and arms would glow. In Celestia's case, her horn would generate a light that slashed the fireball, splitting it in two. It exploded on either side of her, causing her to grunt as she was pushed back a bit. She quickly regained her composure, looking ahead to see Daybreaker flying towards her.

In Passion's case, she would use Psychic to lift up the Shadow Ball, throwing it back at Gardevoir. The opposing Gardevoir gasped as she was struck by her own attack, being sent flying backwards. She groaned as she crashed into the ground, sliding across it.

Celestia and Daybreaker clashed horns once more, getting up close and personal with each other. Their eyes locked in a fierce gaze as they glared at one another. Both of their auras would exude from their bodies during this struggle. For Celestia, it was a beautiful golden solar light. While for Daybreaker, it was a fiery red solar flame.

These auras would clash against each other, creating a powerful shockwave that spread outwards. The ground beneath them cracked as the force of their auras colliding caused the land to shake violently.

They managed to tie, even though Daybreaker was physically stronger. Celestia was managing to draw out more of her strength in this confrontation, holding her own and keeping things stable so far.

"I need your help! Kommo-o!" Celestia, while flying back, launched her Poke Ball forward. From it, she summoned her Kommo-o for assistance.

"Kommo-o!" The Scaly Pokemon roared as he appeared.

"Use Clanging Scales!"

"Kom!" Kommo-o nodded his head as he began to spin around, generating a powerful aura around himself. He spun faster and faster, becoming a blur. Then, he unleashed the energy, sending out a wave of scales that flew towards Daybreaker.

Daybreaker grunted as the vibrations of the scales hit her, causing her to stumble back a bit. Kommo-o would continuously clang on his scales, keeping up the soundwaves that would assault Daybreaker. However, the Solar Queen wasn't going to let herself be pushed around like this.

She would growl, immediately letting out a powerful roar that was so great, it managed to fight back against Kommo-o's soundwaves. The Dragon-Type gasped as he was pushed back, his sounds overpowered by Daybreaker's yellow. Kommo-o planted his fist into the ground, managing to halt his movements.

"Heh." Daybreaker grinned as her mouth suddenly started flickering. Celestia squinted at that sight as she then saw Daybreaker hold her breath in. "Haah...!" She huffed as much as she could and from her mouth, she would breathe out of fire, surprising the Sun Princess and Kommo-o.

The size of this flame breath was great as well as its power. Immediately, the grass that stood in its path would be incinerated as Kommo-o was forced to put his arms up, blocking the flames with his scales. Celestia would do the same, putting up a barrier to protect herself.

But even with all this protection, the heat was still intense. It was so hot that Celestia's fur coat was starting to burn. Her eyes widened as she realized that she couldn't take this for long. She had to act fast.

"Kommo-o! Use Close Combat!"

"Ko!...! Kommo-o!" Kommo-o would try and power through the flames, charging at Daybreaker. He would leap forward, throwing a punch at her. But Daybreaker would's flaming aura acted as a shield, protecting her from the attack. Kommo-o would throw another punch, but again, it was blocked by the aura.

"Kommo-o!" Kommo-o cried out as he tried to break through the aura with his fists, but it was no use. His punches were being deflected by the aura, preventing him from landing a single blow. Daybreaker smirked as she watched Kommo-o struggle, finding it amusing.

"Aw. The Dragon can't get through? A shame." Daybreaker taunted before expanding her magical aura, causing it to repulse Kommo-o away from her. The Scaly Pokemon cried out as he was sent flying through the air.

"Kommo-o, no!" Celestia cried, seeing Kommo-o ascend into the sky. Daybreaker wasn't done with him just yet. Using her magic, she caused flames to erupt from the earth, flying upwards to chase down Kommo-o.

He couldn't defend himself in the air, resulting in the flames catching him. Literally. They formed into massive claws, grabbing a hold of the Dragon-Fighting-Type. "KOMMO-O!" He roared as he struggled against the flames, trying to escape their grasp.

"Hmph." Daybreaker scoffed before facing Celestia. She would keep Kommo-o up there as the flames would repeatedly burn his body.

"Drop him!" Celestia ordered, unleashing a beam at Daybreaker out of anger. However, the Solar Queen would block it with her own horn, grunting as she did so. She deflected the beam, promptly whipping her head back. "?!"

By doing so, she would use her own flaming mane as a weapon, whipping her head forward. This would send a wave of fire towards Celestia, who was struck by the enlarged mane. She had her body engulfed in the mane as she cried out, feeling the unforgiving flames burn her.

Afterwards, the mane would combust, launching Celestia as Daybreaker retracted her mane, the missing flames regrowing. The Solar Queen smirked, seeing her counterpart tumble across the ground before crashing into a damaged hill, shattering it. The whole hill came crashing down, every bit of it falling on Celestia.

Pegalysium.

Meanwhile, over at Pegalysium, the giant Pegasus was approaching Twilight, Rainbow Dash and the citizens of this area, attempting to stop them from leaving. The sight of such a giant approaching brought absolute fear into the eyes of the pegasi, causing some of them to faint.

Twilight would act fast, using her magic to form a giant pressure, manipulating the winds themselves to push the giant back. It would be to two great pressures going against each other, one being the wind while the other was the giant's strength. Just him flying was enough to whip up a pressure as strong as a hurricane.

But Twilight was able to match that, pushing him back with her own magic. She would try and give Rainbow Dash and everyone here enough time to leave. "R-Rainbow Dash! Now's the time to get moving...!"

"Right, right! Everypony, gather some clouds! Quick!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, prompting the pegasi to do so. They all gathered up clouds as fast as they could while Twilight held back this giant. The giant was completely silent, saying absolutely nothing. Only blankly staring at Twilight with his crimson eyes.

All the while, Twilight sounded like she was giving everything she had just to keep this giant at bay. Her horn would glow brightly as she pushed against the giant with all her might. She grunted as she tried to keep him at bay, but even she knew that she couldn't hold him forever.

Her body was straining under the pressure, her muscles were aching, and her mind was starting to feel dizzy. She needed to end this quickly or else she'll collapse. Assisting her was her partner Espeon, who would use Psychic to further hold back this giant.

"Esp!" Espeon cried out as she used he psychic powers to help Twilight. But even with both of them working together, it wasn't enough. The giant was still pushing through, slowly making his way towards them.

Twilight's hooves were scraping against the cobblestone ground, creating sparks as she was being pushed back. She grit her teeth as she tried to resist, but it was no use. This giant was too strong for her. She looked back at Rainbow Dash, seeing that she and the others had managed to gather enough clouds.

Once gathered, they would all start getting on each and every cloud that they could as soon as possible. They would then fly away from the area, leaving Twilight and Espeon behind.

At that moment, Twilight was unable to keep the giant back for much longer as the Pegalysium Giant broke through, making landfall. He stomped onto the ground, causing a massive shockwave that spread across the entire nation.

"Gaah!" Twilight yelped as she was sent back along with Espeon, feeling the full brunt of this landfall. Rainbow Dash was in shock after seeing her friend be launched in such a way. "Twilight!" She cried out, wanting to go back and help her. But the aftermath of the shockwave blew with the ferocity of a typhoon, preventing her from doing so.

All the residents here were already gone, travelling with the clouds they've gathered. They were far away from here, safe and sound. Rainbow Dash was the only one left, hovering in the air. She looked back at Twilight, seeing her get up. "Twilight!" She called out once more.

"So strong..." Twilight uttered, looking up at the giant. Once the giant finally descended, they would get a good look at the titan that stood before the two. He was absolutely massive, towering over them like a skyscraper. His wings were large enough to block out the sun, casting a shadow upon the land.

His eyes were crimson red, glowing brightly as he stared down at Twilight and Espeon. The two of them gulped as they gazed at this giant now that they've finally laid their eyes on one. The Pegalysium Giant looked down on them with his glowing eyes, saying nothing as always. The fact that these giants didn't make any audible sounds made them even more intimidating.

"H-He doesn't scare us!" Rainbow Dash growled, ready to unleash one of her Pokemon.

"Wait, Rainbow Dash!" Twilight halted her. "These pegasi...from what I've read up on them, they shouldn't be hostile to anyone without good reason. But the fact that they're on Second Wind's side proves that they're not doing this willingly. If we can just talk to him, maybe he'll understand."

"W-Will we?" Rainbow Dash gulped, seeing how the pegasus was blankly staring at them with those glowing red eyes.

"If we can snap him out of it, then we can do the same for all the other giants. Right now, he's not attacking us. Probably because we aren't leaving Pegalysium and-" However, Twilight would soon be proven wrong about him not attacking as he would go to raise his hoof up.

The two of them gasped, quickly flying out of the way of this incoming stomp. The giant's hoof would crash into the ground, creating a small crater where they once stood. Rainbow Dash gasped as she saw the size of this crater, realizing that if she had been caught by that, she would have been squashed.

They watched as this part of the sky island would fall apart, dropping off Pegalysium entirely. It would fall down towards the clouds below, crashing through them and falling further down. The two of them could only watch in horror as the destruction of Pegalysium continued.

"Okay! He's very much fully under her control! That was my mistake!" Twilight quivered a bit. "But we can still try and snap him out of it! All I have to do is get in his head and break her control. Most likely, she used Rift Magic to control his mind or even the Unown. Whichever one it was, I can reverse it!"

"Hah..And you want me to keep him occupied, don't you?" Rainbow Dash already knew where this was going.

"Mhm. You're fast enough to outpace him without a doubt. So please, keep him fixated on you at all costs so I can find my golden opportunity. I'll need some time to do this."

"Got it!" Rainbow Dash nodded her head. "You can count on me!" She exclaimed before flying forward, charging at the giant. "I'll become 10x more famous in Pegalysium after this! No doubt!" She smirked, flying around the giant.

He would turn his body to face her, watching as she flew circles around him. He would then attempt to swat her away with his hoof, but Rainbow Dash was too quick for him. She would fly out of the way of the incoming hoof, causing it to miss.

However, even though she was obviously faster, the force of the giant's movements were enough to create powerful gusts of wind. These winds would blow Rainbow Dash back, preventing her from getting close. "Woah!" She cried out, struggling against the strong winds.

She would then use her wings to flap them at high speeds, creating a small tornado that would push her forward. She would then charge through the winds, flying towards the giant. To really keep him fixated on her, Rainbow Dash would bash her body against his face. However, as soon as she did so, it didn't even budge him.

It felt like she had just rammed into a wall. She grunted as she bounced off the giant's face, falling backwards. She would quickly recover, looking up at the giant. "Oh come on! That should've done something!" She exclaimed, seeing that the giant was still standing there, staring at her.

"Ugh...I wish I had a Dynamax Band right now..." Rainbow Dash groaned, rubbing her head. The multi-coloured-maned mare squinted her eyes before bulging them, witnessing the giant's hoof coming down on her. "Yikes!" Quicky, she would zip out of the way, dodging another close-call.

The giant's hoof would break through a cloud, causing it to burst into smaller clouds. Rainbow Dash would fly through these clouds, using them as cover. The giant would look around, trying to find her. He would then spot her, flying out of the clouds. Upon spotting her, the giant flapped his wings, changing the direction of the winds

Rainbow Dash gasped as she was blown away by the sudden change of winds, being pushed back. "Woah!" She cried out, struggling against the winds. She would flap her wings, attempting to fight against the winds. But it was no use. She was unable to resist the winds, which were far stronger than her own.

She was sent flying through the air, crashing into a building. She grunted as she fell through the already fragile roof of this building, tumbling across the floor. "Ow..." She groaned, slowly getting up. She looked around, seeing that she was in some sort of library.

She would then hear the sound of the building shaking, looking up to see the giant's hoof coming down on her. "Ah!" She cried out, quickly flying out of the way. The giant's hoof would crash into the ground, destroying the library entirely. Rainbow Dash would fly through the debris, escaping the area.

So far, she was doing a good job at keeping the giant's attention on her, but even with her amazing speed, she could not do this forever. Thankfully, this whole time, Twilight has been building up a plethora of magic into one spot, her horn glowing vibrantly. She kept gathering as much magic as she could, making sure this spell would be as effective as possible.

"Just a bit longer, Rainbow Dash..." Twilight muttered, focusing on her task.

"You won't get any more time." A voice suddenly spoke to Twilight from behind, causing her to gasp. She recognized that voice from anywhere. It was Second Wind's. As soon as she turned around, Twilight Sparkle was struck by a zap of magic from the Grand Queen herself.

"Aaah!" Twilight cried out, feeling the electricity course through her body. Her muscles would gyrate as she was electrocuted, falling to the ground. Espeon would cry out for her trainer, running over to her.

"Esp! Espeon?!" Espeon would try and use Dazzling Gleam, shooting out rainbow rays, only for the Unown to interrupt with Hidden Power, intercepting her rays. "Espeon!" She cried out, trying to push through. However, the Unown were too powerful, pushing back against her attack.

"Twilight Sparkle. Another pony I absolutely loathe." Second Wind spoke, walking up to Twilight while she was still on the ground. "I'm glad you're here. Each of your friends. Vindication works better that way."

"Oh, get over yourself." The Princess of Friendship groaned, managing to get herself back after the electrocution. "You've terrorized everypony for way too long now. From targeting Shooting Star, changing time and even threatening to wipe us all from existence just so you can rule. You're the worst."

"Feh! That won't be the case once I win. History is written by the winners and by manipulating time itself, I can make that as literal as possible. It should've happened already when I first entered the clock door but interruptions galore just had to give me a monkey's paw."

"Hmph." Twilight would suddenly smile. "Well, I guess fate doesn't want you to win. It put us here to stop ponies like you."

"Smart-mouthed girl...!" Second wind showed an annoyed grin and grumble. "But it won't matter. I have my army of giants and Unown to help me. And soon, I'll have the power of Necrozma himself under my control. Then, I will become the most powerful being in the universe. Nothing will be able to stop me."

"The power of Necrozma? But he's Daybreaker's Pokemon...Unless..."

"Duh! Do you think I'd let her have that kind of power? It's very clear that I want to be at the top!" Second Wind unleashed a bolt of magic, promptly causing Twilight to sway her body, avoiding the zap as it flew through a cloud. "Nevermind that! Getting rid of you is my top priority right now! And of course, unlocking that door! Unown!"

Her Unown responded to her shout as they all flew to her side. They would then start glowing brightly, surrounding her and building up their Hidden Power. "Daybreaker is currently on her biggest attack yet. Says that this is where it all ends. Where she succeeds and gathers all the light possible. I estimate that she brings down Princess Celestia herself."

"Bring down Celestia?! No way!" Twilight objected.

"It's obvious, isn't it? One in the same, after all. The two of them will always have similar thoughts and Daybreaker suspected that her encounter with Celestia would be sooner than expected. Not sure how soon she thinks it will be, but regardless, the next time they meet, will most likely be the last. And once that passes, dealing with Equestria will be so much easier."

"Princess Celestia won't lose!" Twilight aimed her hoof at her. "We're not losing this!"

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, Twilight." The way Second Wind said that made Twilight shudder a bit. It almost sounded like Second Wind knew that Daybreaker had something that could stop Celestia. Something massive. Something that Celestia herself wasn't prepared for.

Outskirts of Equestria.

"Ngh..."Celestia pushed all the rubble off her, getting up from the ground. She looked around, seeing that she was surrounded by destroyed hills and mountains. The area was completely ravaged by Daybreaker's attacks. The entire area was now ablaze with ferocious flames, colouring the night skies in an orange hue.

She looked up, seeing Kommo-o still trapped in the grasp of the flaming claws. He struggled against the flames, trying to escape. But no matter what he did, he couldn't break free. "Kommo-o..." Celestia cried out before seeing Passion slide back, managing to defend herself from her fellow Gardevoir's attack.

"Garde...!" Trainer and Pokemon were beside one another once more, doing their best to gain control of this battle. Daybreaker and Gardevoir would also hover right next to each other, looking down at their counterpart and fellow species.

"Are you playing around, Celestia?" Daybreaker asked, staring down at her opponent. "I can tell. You're not working at your best. I know you have more up your sleeve, Celestia. You have Reshiram with you after all and something else of great importance. You're still too soft, it seems."

"Don't be mistaken, Daybreaker." Celestia replied. "I'm not quick to waste everything so soon. You should know that as well if you are me."

"Hmph. Fair enough. But at this rate, I might get the job done without having to do much myself. Well, that's how it usually is." Daybreaker snickered.

"This attack you've launched on my world...It won't get any further than this."

"An attack? Hmph. Celestia. This isn't an attack. It's not a small little visit to your universe." Daybreaker used one of her feather wings to mimic a finger wag. "No, no. I suppose I haven't made it obvious, but right now, I'm declaring war on your universe. And I'll make sure that it ends with me as the victor."

"War?!" Celestia gasped.

"Exactly. I've been through my fair share of them in my universe. Years of being at war with those who would threaten my land. The experience I have always comes in handy, as you can imagine. All your troops in the distance over there, keeping that veil up, won't be able to handle what will come next."

"War or not, I've never let a massive threat win over us all. Not even once." Celestia still stayed strong. "You could have the ultimate power at your disposal and it would not stop me or anyone from trying to stop you."

"Hm." Daybreaker frowned at that response. "I can tell."

"If you want more from me, then bare witness to it!" With a flash of her eyes, Celestia's body would start glowing as she materialized the Gardevoirite Keystone for Passion. Passion would do the same as her Mega Stone would appear before her. They were going to amp it up, but they weren't about to utilize Mega Evolution. Instead, they would go above and beyond that.

A magical wonder was exuding from their bodies, lighting up this damaged area with such grace and beauty as the two Mega Stones would pulsate. It was time for the Harmony Phenomenon to occur.

"Garde...Voir!" Passion cried out as her and Celestia's body would merge as one. The two stones made DNA symbols that connected together, fluctuating with Infinity Energy. Daybreaker was expecting this since this was the most synonymous with Celestia and Passion.

Daybreaker watched as the Gardevoirite Keystone and Passion's Mega Stone would float up into the air, spinning around each other. They would then glow brightly, causing a bright light to shine down upon the battlefield. The light would spread across the entire area, engulfing everything in its path.

Celestia and Passion were completely surrounded by this light as their bodies would change. Out of the light emerged Celestial-Gardevoir, the fusion of both beings.

"There you are." Daybreaker commented at her arrival. "I knew you'd show up eventually."

"Kh...Hard to believe that these two created such a phenomenon." Gardevoir commented.

"Believe it. It's because of our bond that we can perform such great feats." Celestial-Gardevoir replied, crossing her arms. "And I'm not letting you get away with this. Daybreaker. Even though I feel so much sympathy for what happened to you in the past, I will see to it that you will be punished. For taking the light away from so many universes and threatening the absorption of this one and many more in the future."

"Hm. You'd have to overpower me first for that happen." Daybreaker looked so casual about it. "And in that state, you could pull it off. It's absolutely stunning how you can reach this point based on the bonds you have..." Her smile then got a bit wider, turning into a smirk. "A shame I can do it too."

"What?!"

In a flash, catching Celestial-Gardevoir off guard, two more Mega Stones emerged out of thin air. Both Daybreaker and Gardevoir had the same devious smirks on their faces as the Mega Stones went off. But the way these stones reacted to each other, while they did let out a bright light, they also unleashed a ferocity that shook the surrounding area.

The light was so intense that it was blinding, forcing Celestial-Gardevoir to shield her eyes. Daybreaker and Gardevoir were beginning to merge as well as the force of their merge was shaking the area itself and beyond. Celestial-Gardevoir saw that the clouds were being pushed away by this power, revealing the night skies above. The stars were shining brightly, but even they were being overwhelmed by the light of this fusion.

Celestial-Gardevoir gasped as she witnessed the light of this fusion grow brighter and brighter. It was almost as if it was going to engulf everything in its path. She would then hear a loud roar, causing her to look up.

The locations in Equestria would feel this trembling sensation as well. The ground would shake, causing everyone to lose their balance. The buildings would tremble, the mountains looked like they were about to shake and many, many locations, even beyond Equestria would feel this unusual presence.

This was the same presence felt at this year's Pokemon Festival and now Celestial-Gardevoir was about to see the reason for this violent presence. At Kanto and many other regions, those that were asleep would soon feel the pressure of this light, waking them up.

It was an overwhelming feeling that made many feel uneasy. Some would get out of bed, wondering what was going on. Others would stay in bed, trying to ignore it. But no matter what they did, they couldn't escape it.

Across the world, it could be felt. There was no exception. The main reason for it was due to the fact that the creation behind the two Mega Stones was unorthodox, done by Celestia and Gardvevoir themselves. And now that they were unleashing that power once more, the world would feel that unnatural energy yet again, only this time, it was far stronger than before.

As the light subsided, the being emerging from it looked all too familiar. Much like Celestial-Gardevoir, it looked like a Mega Gardevoir but with some noticeable changes. Her hair was far more upright, matching Daybreaker's blaze. Her body was covered in a flaming aura, which was constantly changing roaring. Her body kept the same colour as a Shiny Gardevoir, mainly for the black dress part while her hair was blazing. Her eyes were glowing red, staring at Celestial-Gardevoir.

"It can't be..." Celestial-Gardevoir asked, looking upon this new form in absolute disbelief.

"You call your little union Celestial-Gardevoir, don't you? Well, how does Daybreak-Gardevoir sound for this one?" Daybreak-Gardevoir asked, smirking at her counterpart. "Not too bad of a name, don't you think?"

"But how?! The Harmony Phenomenon should only respond to those who have a strong and close bond!" Celestial-Gardevoir shouted as this shouldn't be possible. She didn't think the two of them had that strong of a bond to pull this off.

"Oh, but we do. It was Daybreaker who saved Gardevoir from sinking into despair. It was Daybreaker who gave her hope. More hope than anyone else has ever done. Or really, ever. Thus, this was made possible." Daybreaker explained. "Seems that your way isn't always on top~"

"Kh..." The situation got even more dire in Celestial-Gardevoir's eyes. Now her enemy was capable of what she was.

"Aw, you look so scared stiff? Can't handle being unique anymore? Or are you too amazed by my spectacular power?" Daybreak-Gardevoir taunted, shrugging casually. "Well, I'm not surprised. This is a first for me as well. But I can tell that this will be a great advantage for me. And it's all thanks to you and Passion. So, thank you."

"Either way...Even if you have what we have, that won't stop me from defeating you! Beating you like this means I take out two in one!" Celestial-Gardevoir declared, pointing at her.

"Hmph. You're still underestimating us. Even after seeing what we can do, you still think you can beat us? That's cute. But it's also very foolish." Daybreak-Gardevoir replied. "I'll show you just how wrong you are."

Daybreak-Gardevoir would hold her hand out, beginning the first attack. Quickly, Celestial-Gardevoir would take flight, moving as fast as she could, only for Daybreaker-Gardevoir to instantly pursue her. The two of them moved so fast with a simple take-off that they became sparkles in the night sky. A golden sparkle and an orange sparkle were seen, glistening like stars.

Daybreak-Gardevoir would then unleash a powerful barrage of flames that were the mixture of Daybreaker's flames and Gardevoir's Fairy Energy. They came down upon Celestial-Gardevoir, causing her to gasp. She would fly around all the incoming flames, dodging them to the best of her abilities.

The flames rained down on the already damaged landscape, tearing everything to shreds and incinerating it. Celestial-Gardevoir looked behind her, seeing the destruction caused by those flames. She couldn't believe how destructive these flames were. They were far more potent than anything she had ever seen before.

If any of those were to hit any civilizations, the damage would be catastrophic. But as she was thinking about that, Daybreak-Gardevoir would teleport in front of her, having a Shadow Ball ready. "Ah!" Celestial-Gardevoir gasped, promptly blocking the Shadow Ball that was slammed against her.

A dark explosion went off, pushing her back, but she managed to recover. Swiftly, she would use Thunderbolt, releasing 100,000 volts of lightning from one hand. Daybreak-Gardevoir would block it with one hand, absorbing the electricity into her body. She would then fire a beam of light from her other hand, which was blocked by Celestial-Gardevoir.

The two beams clashed, creating a bright flash of light that illuminated the entire area. The clash between the two was intense, neither side giving up. Celestial-Gardevoir would try and push forward, trying to overpower her counterpart. But Daybreak-Gardevoir would do the same, keeping her at bay.

"Ngh...!" Celestial-Gardevoir grunted, struggling to keep this going. Just then, she saw Daybreak-Gardevoir's body phase all of a sudden, splitting into another. It was a shock seeing that happen as the Daybreak-Gardevoir firing the beam ended up becoming a clone, fizzling out as the Thunderbolt flew through it. This allowed the real Daybreak-Gardevoir to fly in, pushing her head against Celestial-Gardevoir's.

It was a rather heavy headbutt too, causing her eyes to widen and her body to stagger. As she was staggered, Daybreak-Gardevoir would put her hand on Celestial-Gardevoir's face, immediately releasing a powerful flame that engulfed her. "Aaah!" Celestial-Gardevoir cried out, feeling the flames burn her body.

However, with her magic, she was able to reduce the pain while also pushing Daybreak-Gardevoir off her. After distancing herself a bit, Celestial-Gardevoir would merge two attacks into one. Mystical Fire and Thunderbolt. By doing so, she created plasma, utilizing her own unique move, Plasma Bolt.

She fired the bolt at Daybreak-Gardevoir, who would simply flick her hands up, summoning a great wall of fire. The flames would absorb the plasma, making it disappear. "What?!" Celestial-Gardevoir gasped, not expecting that to happen. "That can't be! The flames overpowered plasma?!"

"Plasma is no issue for me. It hasn't been for a long time." She smirked before then materializing the flames she summoned, transforming them into a Flame Spear. The fusion would then throw the spear at Celestial-Gardevoir, forcing her to dodge it. The spear would fly past her, only to fizzle out, turning into smaller flame particles.

Those smaller particles would then enlarge, turning around and approaching Celestial-Gardevoir. She was forced to use Dazzling Gleam, unleashing rainbow rays in every direction to block these flames and to also hit Daybreak-Gardevoir. However, the latter would teleport away, avoiding the attack.

Celestial-Gardevoir would then see Daybreak-Gardevoir appear behind her, grabbing her by the hair. "Ah!" Celestial-Gardevoir gasped, feeling the tight grip of her counterpart.

"You don't seem to be all that focused as much." Daybreak-Gardevoir said, pulling her closer. "Still too shaken up by this?"

"Ngh..." Celestial-Gardevoir grunted, trying to break free. But Daybreak-Gardevoir was far stronger than her. She could feel the immense power coming from her counterpart. It was overwhelming.

Daybreak-Gardevoir would then throw her higher into the air at full force, creating a shockwave from the initial launch. Celestial-Gardevoir would then be pushed upwards with a Psychic, being sent flying into the night sky.

Higher and higher, Daybreak-Gardevoir kept pushing her up. Celestial-Gardevoir would try and resist but it was futile. She couldn't stop her counterpart from doing this. As she was being pushed up, she looked down, seeing the ground get further and further away.

She could see the damage done to the landscape, the burning hills and mountains, the destroyed forests, the ravaged land. It was all so devastating to see. And it was all caused by Daybreaker and Gardevoir.

As she was thinking about that, Daybreak-Gardevoir would then appear right next to her, attempting to use Shadow Ball. But this Shadow Ball also had a great blaze around it, giving it that extra boost in power. As Daybreak-Gardevoir when to slam it on her, Celestial-Gardevoir managed to hold it with one hand, blocking the attack. "Oh...?"

"It doesn't matter if you have it now or that it's surprised me. I still have far too much riding on the line here!" Celestial-Gardevoir shouted, pushing the attack back. She managed to obliterate the Shadow Ball while successfully distancing herself from Daybreak-Gardevoir once more. The fusion of Celestia and Passion then started panting

"You're really struggling, aren't you?" Daybreak-Gardevoir asked, looking upon her counterpart. "You're not used to going up against someone who has the same capabilities as you, are you? Ah, no that can't be it. I forgot that you don't have full mastery of this state."

"Ngh...!"

"Yes, that's it. Obviously, neither do I, but since I used it a bit earlier than you did, I have a bit more time running in this state. You're probably thinking about how unfair this is, aren't you?" Daybreak-Gardevoir smirked. "Don't worry. I'll be sure to end this for both of our sakes. I don't have much time in this form either, so why don't we end this?"

Deciding to bring this to an end, Daybreak-Gardevoir raised her arms up, summoning a massive amount of fire energy. The flames would surround her body, forming a large sphere of fire. To say it was gigantic was an understatement. It was absolutely beyond that. Larger than what Celestial-Gardevoir has ever seen.

Celestial-Gardevoir could only look upon it in awe, wondering just how powerful this attack was. It was so big that it was starting to block out the stars above. It was so bright that it was beginning to illuminate the entire area. It was so hot that it was causing the air around it to distort. The heat it was giving off was unbearable, matching that of a summer Sun. No. Surpassing it. Easily surpassing it.

It felt like the Sun itself was about to drop.

"Prove to me that you have what it takes to win this! Try and stop this!" Daybreak-Gardevoir would then launch the attack, throwing this gargantuan fireball down at Celestial-Gardevoir. It was coming down fast, moving with such speed that it was creating a sonic boom.

Celestial-Gardevoir could not let that attack hit the ground at any cost. The damage it will do will be too grand to compromise with. She had to stop it and that meant destroying it. But how? How could she destroy something so massive?

With her arms up, she generated plasma around her hands, approaching the fireball. Her hands met with the fireball, causing a massive explosion to occur. The force of the explosion was so great that it pushed her back, forcing her to use Psychic to keep herself in place.

She gritted her teeth, trying to push forward. She tried to overpower the fireball, but it was far too strong. It was pushing her back and the longer she stayed there, the more her body was being burned. "Ngh...!" Celestial-Gardevoir grunted, feeling the pain of the flames.

"Come on now. You can't give up yet. You still have a lot more in you." Daybreak-Gardevoir said, watching from above. "I know you do."

"Kh...!" Celestial-Gardevoir growled, clenching her teeth. She didn't want to admit it, but her counterpart was right. She did have a lot more in her. And she wasn't going to let this fireball get the best of her. She couldn't let it.

From the point of view of everyone in Equestria, it looked like the Sun had appeared in the night sky and was getting closer and closer. It was a sight to behold, seeing this massive fireball descend upon the world. It was a terrifying sight for those who were awake, wondering what was happening.

Oceans would boil, clouds would fall apart, and the ground would shake. It was as if the end of the world was coming. All of her Infinity Energy and Magical Energy would start rising within her, reaching their absolute peak. The peak of what Celestial-Gardevoir could do and has ever done. This was both Celestia and Passion's peaks. The fusion closed her eyes, feeling her form gradually fade away. But it wasn't fading away because she was running out of time.

It was fading away because of the flames burning away at it.

The flames were so intense that they were literally burning away at her very existence, threatening to end the transformation early. The pain was unbearable, but she had to endure it. She had to.

Together, the yells of Celestia and Passion could be heard echoing through Celestial-Gardevoir as she too would scream at the top of her lungs, mimicking their voices. That yell was enough to make her reach her apex, using her stellar power to just barely destroy the fireball. The great attack would combust, the sound being greatly delayed due to the sheer size of the fireball.

Daybreak-Gardevoir was very much impressed that she pulled it off, blocking her eyes as the explosion lingered for a bit. As the smoke cleared, she saw Celestial-Gardevoir panting heavily, looking absolutely exhausted. "You did it. You managed to stop my attack. I'm proud of you." Daybreak-Gardevoir said, flying down towards her.

"Ngh..." Celestial-Gardevoir grunted, trying to stay conscious. She was struggling to keep herself together. Her body was badly burned and she was on the verge of passing out. She tried mustering up some more energy to continue, but that was it.

In that moment, her fused state would be burned away, incinerated by the flames. And once it was all lost to the ferocious fire, Celestial-Gardevoir defused, bringing back Celestia and Gardevoir. The two of them had exhausted faces as well. So exhausted that neither of them could stay afloat any longer.

Thus, they both fell, their eyes closing as they descended. Smoke trailed from their bodies as the two Mega Stones would fall as well, separating from them instead of returning to them. Daybreak-Gardevoir watched as they fell, heading straight for an unbelievably large chasm formed by the fissures she made earlier.

Unable to fly, unable to recover, unable to teleport, unable to do anything, the duo fell into the deep, dark chasm, unresponsive. Their Mega Stones would soon fall into that chasm as well, lost to the darkness.

Daybreak-Gardevoir had won.

Daybreaker and Gardevoir defused, looking at the bottomless chasm which still had flames running across it. The chasm would then start closing up, sealing itself shut. "They did their best, but it seems that was their limit." Daybreaker commented, descending and landing on top of a hill. She was the victor of this battle, defeating Princess Celestia herself.

"And now with my victory, a new dawn will grace this world. No. This universe." With her horn glowing, she would suddenly move the Moon itself, making it descend. By doing so, she ended the night early, bringing the dawn upon the world. The Sun would rise, illuminating the land in its light.

The sun's rays would shine down on Daybreaker, giving her a sense of satisfaction. With Celestia's defeat, she declared victory by raising the Sun herself in her place. Her biggest threat was out of the picture, meaning that her chances of accomplishing her goal had greatly skyrocketed. This was not a Sun of Hope. This was a Sun of Despair.

Daybreaker started cackling under the Sun's rays, her laughter echoing through the air. It was a laugh of pure joy. A laugh of triumph. A laugh of success. She was closer to victory. More than she's ever felt. More than she may ever feel until Necrozma's wish is fulfilled.

As the journey continues.
