My Little Pokémon: Grander World
King and Princess, Down
Previous ChapterNext ChapterPegalysium. On a Sky Island. Afternoon.
Ash had been hit. Attempting to protect Twilight from Sunrise's sneak attack, he pushed her out of the way, taking the attack that struck his back, ripping parts of his jacket and shirt off. The King of the Sea laid there on the ground, groaning in pain.
"Ash!" Twilight was the first to reach him, turning him over. "Are you okay?!" All his friends gathered around him.
"Pika!-Pi!"
"Gen! Gengar!"
"Ngh..." Ash gripped onto the grass, feeling the sting on that beam. "That wasn't too bad..." Audino immediately started healing Ash, putting her hands over him and using Heal Pulse. A beautiful and soothing green energy washed over his body, attempting to nullify what Sunrise had done.
"Hmph. Idiot." Sunrise Sparkle insulted him, sparking Twilight to turn her head with anger.
"Why you...!"
"You're lucky we actually need you around, Ash Ketchum. If not, you would've been completely downed for good." Sunrise scoffed. "As for the rest of you, I could care less what happens to you."
Angered by this, Twilight would charge up her own magic, furiously unleashing a frenzy of magical rays at her variant. Sunrise Sparkle replied with her own rays as these two magical attacks clashed against one another, creating a flashy display of magical outbursts.
Alas, it ended in a tie.
"Hmph. You're not as dangerous as I thought you'd be now that I'm here right now. Perhaps because of the circumstances around you, you aren't performing at your best. Pinkie Pie's been encased by the Suntree, officially joining everypony else in there. All of you, minus Ash, can join her soon, or be engulfed by the Sunstorm. Or even fall to the lands below. Either one will be a suitable conclusion for me."
"You're heartless! How could you do this?!" Fluttershy exclaimed."
"Perhaps. But after Daybreaker opened my eyes, anything relating to Friendship, I gladly tossed aside long ago. Things like Friendship have no value and can only take you so far. They also become a crutch for you and her Majety has witnessed how much of a crutch it can be when she lost her sister and a stallion she truly loved." Sunrise continued. "She decided that she wouldn't be held back by such things. The same should go for all of you."
"Never!" Twilight greatly objected. "As if we'd abandon friendship like you did! You're going to pay for all of this! Especially hurting Ash!"
"Don't let your emotions get in the way." Sunrise smirked, obviously getting a rise out of Twilight. The Princess of Friendship was ready to attack once more, her eyes glowing and pulsating with magic.
"Twilight! We don't have time for that!" Rarity held her back, reminding her of the fact that the island was coming apart. Everyone had to leave right away, but there didn't seem to be enough time.
Just like that, with very few clouds being left to keep the island afloat, it would start tilting, ready to fall over. Everyone screamed. Sunrise Sparkle would simply watch them all lose their balance as it all came apart. But she still needed Ash to be in one piece and it all related to Prisma.
Luckily for her, Twilight could do that for her, putting a protective shield around the downed Ash Ketchum. Once the shield was on him, everyone started falling as the island finally gave out.
The giants no longer had the magical capabilities of flight on their side, thus resulting in them falling without any way to recover whatsoever. The only ones who could fly were Twilight and Flutterhy, but that wouldn't matter too much if they could save everyone.
"B-Bay!" Bayleef's leaf had mostly recovered under the Sun, ready to try and change fate once more to save all these lives. A chunk of her leaf came off as Fluttershy held onto her with Audino holding onto both of them at the same time. The top leaf and some of the leaves around her neck would come off, flying to Fluttershy.
Fate would be changed as reality was being warped, rearranging things. A chunk of the broken island would be transformed beneath them while an evaporated cloud would be restored. The island would catch them all but that would not last for long. The cloud would be burned away the nearby flames of the Sunstorm, which raged on greatly.
"L-Leef..." That was all Bayleef could do right now as she needed time to recover her. From this point on, they were on their own. Twilight looked around for something she could use or do, but there was nothing of use around. She wondered if her own magic could even stop this disaster.
"T-Twilight..." Ash groaned while suffering from the pain. "My Dynamax Band. Use it on Dragonite..." It was clear that Ash needed Twilight to fill in for him. For her to summon Dragonite, having her Dynamax and keep the entire island afloat, preventing their doom.
"Ash...Okay!" Twilight nodded, using her magic to pull out Dragonite's Poke Ball while also removing the Dynamax Band. The band slipped onto her hoof right away, the energy reacting to a new host. And with a launch, she had summoned Dragonite.
"Dragonite!"
"Dragonite! Please!" Twilight pleaded to Dragonite for help since they were in a rough spot right now. The Dragon Pokemon looked down, already knowing what had to be done the moment she emerged. Twilight would then return her to the Poke Ball, causing the Dynamax Energy to pulsate. The Poke Ball would expand in size as Twilight would throw it even higher. "Dragonite! Dynamax!"
As the Poke Ball opened up, emerging from it was a Dynamaxed Dragonite. Her body was massive, towering over everyone, matching the giants.
"DRAGONITE!" Dragonite roared, her voice echoing throughout the skies. Once she showed up, the Dragon Pokemon would fly underneath the island, catching it with her arms. Her strength was enough to hold the island, but the Sunstorm was still a threat. Those particles of blazing lights lingered in the air, heating up the skies themselves.
Sunrise Sparkle looked down on all of them from the island she stood on, narrowing her eyes as her horn would start glowing. She fully intends to keep this attack up on them. She managed to manipulate the energy of the Sunstorm with her magic, redirecting the flames towards the island.
"Dragonite, use Airstream!" Twilight commanded, hoping the attack would be able to counter the Sunstorm.
"DRAGON!" Dragonite would unleash a powerful spiral of wind, blowing the flames away. She managed to put some of them out as well, but the Sunstorm was still a threat, being great in numbers.
"Hm. Applejack. Do it." Sunrise ordered Suntree Applejack to take action and she did just that. The Suntree would expand its branches, leaving the sky island that it was on. The branches would grow and grow, homing in on the island Twilight and the others were on.
"Dragonite, use Max Wyrmwind!"
"GON!" Dragonite would unleash a powerful outburst of Draconic energy, blowing the branches away. However, the branches would continue to approach, not giving up. Since she had spread the branches across the island, she had a great abundance of them at the ready. The branches would then strike Dragonite's chest, dealing a noticeablow. "G-GONITE!" She grimaced.
Afterwards, the branches would start aggressively whipping Dragonite's body, dealing multiple blows. The Dragon Pokemon would receive this beatdown while holding up the island, making sure to not let go.
"Dragonite, no!" Twilight cried out. Dragonite would then feel some of the branches wrap around her body while she received this beatdown. Some of the branches even struck the underneath of the island, breaking through the clouds and erupting from below, surprising Twilight and the others. The branches would then start pulling Dragonite, trying to drag her down.
The Dragon Pokemon would also feel the blazing heat the Suntree's branches gave off, harming her body in another way, not just with aggressive whipping and grip. And with so many of them approaching, more and more branches would surround Dragonite, wrapping around her.
"You can drop to the very bottom for all I care. But I'll be down there to retrieve Ash Ketchum." Sunrise Sparkle said, even though they couldn't hear her from up here. "Now, you'll truly find out why going against the Solar Empire is always a foolish endeavour. The rest of you. Gather the remaining Rift Sphees and bring them to Necrozma."
At this rate, it seemed rather hopeless. Dragonite was restrained and being dragged down, which meant that the Sky Island was bound to drop. There weren't any options left to keep it floating. That is until a ray of rainbows would fly in, breaking some of the branches off Dragonite. The Dragon-Flying-Type blinked, looking to the side of these rainbow rays.
The ones responsible for this were Togekiss and Espeon. Togekiss was seen with Espeon on her back, the duo using Dazzling Gleam to attack the branches. Just as Twilight suspected, her Pokemon would be fine even if they were knocked off the island.
"Togekiss! Eve!" Twilight smiled, seeing her Pokemon.
"Kiiiss!"
"Espe!" The duo would continue to unload Dazzling Gleams of the branches, each ray breaking through them. Sunrise spotted this from afar, using her magic to elevate her vision. She witnessed Espeon and Togekiss blast away at the vines and the Suntree most definitely noticed. Once enough vines were off Dragonite's body, she would wriggle a bit, ripping the remaining ones off.
With this freedom, Dragonite would then regain her balance and momentum, controlling her falling speed as she could see the clouds of Equestria below her.
Once she saw them, Dragonite would slow down her speed, focusing on an array of clouds up ahead that could potentially hold up this Sky Island. But they just weren't big enough. She needed their size to be far larger if the island was to be kept stable.
That is when new clouds could be seen being pushed next to each other. Many clouds began gathering as one to form an even greater array of clouds. Much like how Espeon and Togekiss showed up to prevent the worst, so did Rainbow Dash and Braviary as the duo had finally returned. But not only did they return, just as Rainbow Dash said, she brought the Wonderbolts with them.
"Rainbow Dash!" Rarity and Applejack cried out.
"Brav!"
"Hey, guys! Sorry, we're late!" Rainbow Dash grinned. Her, the Wonderbolts and all their Pokemon began gathering the biggest array of clouds possible, pushing them together.
"We've got the clouds, Dragonite! Get the island on top of them!" Twilight instructed.
"Dragonite!" Dragonite would then fly towards the clouds, carrying the island. They finally had somewhere to land as they had left the outskirts of Pegalysium, re-entering Equestria. With a safe landing, Dragonite would place the island on top of the clouds, allowing the island to rest.
Dragonite would pull back, letting the island find its footing. Everything had calmed down for them now that they were back in Equestria.
"Hah..." They all sighed in relief, glad that they were no longer in danger. And it also looked like they were out of the view of Sunrise Sparkle at last. Togekiss and Espeon would land on this island, rushing over to their trainer who looked exhausted.
"Nice save...all of you." Twilight thanked them all greatly. Her body was aching a bit from the speed that they fell, but she would manage. The same could not be said for Ash, who even after receiving healing from Audino, could still feel the searing burn on his back.
"Is he alright?!" Soarin flew over, noticing Ash's injury. "Just what were you all going through up there?"
"A lot. Right now, Pegalysium's ruined. This island a the very few still up there are the only ones remaining." Fluttershy explained to the Wonderbolts. "Plus, Pinkie Pie's been captured by that Suntree and all of Pegalysium's magic has been taken away."
"All that happened...?" Misty Fly blinked in astonishment, looking up at the skies.
"Not only that, but Princess Celestia's been defeated..." Twilight lowered her head, hating to bring that up. "Daybreaker's no doubt stolen a lot of light for Necrozma after that and there's no telling just how powerful he is."
"Well, right now, Princess Celestia's been taken to a hospital. Keldeo found her, Passion and Kommo-o on the outskirts, saving them in time. But while Passion may recover eventually, Princess Celestia..." Based on how Spitfire paused her sentence, Celestia's condition wasn't exactly the best right now, making Twilight and the others worry even more.
Unova. Driftveil City. Local Hospital. Afternoon.
Using a gateway that led to Unova, Keldeo brought Celestia and Passion to the local Pokemon Center and Hospital. Passion would find herself being healed up in the Pokemon Center while Celestia was in the Hospital, being treated by the doctors.
Celestia was unconscious, laying on a bed with her eyes closed. Her body was covered in bandages, showing the damage she had taken. It was far greater than expected, mainly due to the heat coming off of her.
"Look at this. The heat...It's beyond unnatural and there's no signs of it fading away." One of the doctors said, checking her temperature. "I've never seen anything like this before."
"What do you think could've caused this?" Another doctor asked.
"It would have to be something hotter than I'd say even magma. Something that's around the same heat level as the Sun even. If not, then it's close."
"But what could've done this? What could've possibly been capable of doing this to her? Do you think it has something to do with the recent Daybreaker problem."
"Oh, most definitely. The Ranger Union informed all hospitals about how potent their flames can be. And the one that has more flames than them all is Daybreaker herself." The main doctor nodded in agreement. "Most likely, she came into a confrontation with her and ended up like this. I don't think anything could diminish this heat. We would need someone as powerful as I'd say...Kyurem, to cool it all off."
"Kyurem? You mean the Legendary Pokemon that's known as the Boundary Pokemon?"
"Yes. He's the only one I can think of that could possibly cool her off. But he's not here and we can't contact him. Not to mention, the fact that the Rangers are currently busy with the Daybreaker problem."
"So, what can we do?"
"For now, we can only wait and hope that the heat doesn't get worse. We can't treat her properly if she's like this. All we can do is make her comfortable and hope for the best."
"Voir!" Suddenly, the cries of Passion could be heard nearby as she opened the doors to Celestia's room, barging in.
"Gardevoir, no! You can't be in here right!" A nurse tried to stop her, but the Pokemon wouldn't listen.
"Voi! Voir!" Passion cried out, rushing over to Celestia's side. The nurse and some Pokemon tried holding her back, only for Gardevoir to easily overpower them, moving forward. The Embrace Pokemon would then stop by her bed, leaning over her trainer to see her condition.
"Our deepest apologies, Passion. But your Trainer will have to rest up here for a while longer." The doctor said.
"Voir..." Passion lowered her head, feeling the heat coming off of her. It was so intense that she ended up retracting her arm due to the sting. She looked her hand, seeing the burn mark appear on it. Touching Celestia was suddenly dangerous. In fact, the bed she was on was not just an ordinary bed. Due to the heat she was letting off the bed was layered with a special material that could withstand the heat. But just barely. Already, the material was seen slowly diminishing in strength in the presence of this heat.
"Don't worry. We'll do everything we can to help her." The doctor assured her, promising that he and everyone else here will do their absolute best. "It's rather dangerous out there right now with Daybreaker on the loose. I'd recommend you to stay clear from anything involving that. You should focus on recovering for a bit longer. We can see some burn marks still on you.."
"..." Passion stayed silent, scrunching her mouth while looking at her trainer. She'd never want to leave Celestia's side or even see her in such a horrible state. The Embrace Pokemon wished she was stronger. Stronger than what Daybreak-Gardevoir currently was and strong enough to have fully overpowered that massive fireball.
She blamed herself for letting this happen to Celestia since a majority of their fusion's power comes from Passion's side. But that power, for the first time, had failed them, leaving Celestia in a searing condition. All while Daybreaker and her Gardevoir to roam freely, continuing their plan to absorb all light in the universe.
"Garde." But she wouldn't let that happen. Passion promised herself to help Celestia just like how she helped her during her hardest time and now was the time for her to really put everything she had forward, helping her beloved Trainer. The Embrace Pokemon narrowed her eyes, standing up tall and looking to the side.
There, Celestia's personal saddlebag that had all her Poke Balls inside could be seen as Passion decided on what she had to do. While Celestia is unresponsive in a terrible state, she decided to go and stop Daybreaker herself.
The Psychic-Fairy-Type would flick her hands, levitating the saddlebag towards her. Passion placed them around her neck, wearing the saddlebag in Celestia's place. The doctors and nurse were rather surprised, already knowing what this meant.
"I-Is she going to do it herself...? Is that possible?"
"I heard that some Pokemon are capable of being Pokemon Trainers, but the only one that fits that category is Oranguru." The main doctor replied. "But it seems she's ready to fill that category herself."
Passion looked back at Celestia before taking flight, using Psychic to open the window. "Gardevoir." She promised Celestia that she would finish this for her and make things right. Just like that, she was gone, flying out the window, ready to continue the mission to stop Daybreaker before it was too late.
Alas, Celestia simply stayed silent, but a tiny bit of her would twitch, that being her wings, but it was only for a brief moment and it was incredibly weak.
High in the Skies.
Speaking of Daybreaker, at this moment, the Solar Sword was moving higher and higher into the sky, aiming to enter outer space to find Lunala. It's what they did last time, targeting the Moon and everything. Daybreaker silently sat on her throne, her eyes closed, waiting for them to reach outer space.
"Your Majesty, we're almost there."
"Good. Once we're there, we'll find Lunala and finish what we started." Daybreaker replied. "And as a bonus, if Deoxys gets involved again, we'll take his energy too. Not a single soul will be allowed to escape us scot-free. Not when Necrozma is this fueled."
"Yes, Your Majesty. Ah..." One of the ponies noticed something approaching on the radar. "Your Majesty, it seems that some of the Legendary Pokemon are catching up at last. Some are right behind us."
"Oh? Which ones are they now?"
"It looks to be Articuno and Zapdos, Your Majesty. They're accelerating at this very moment."
"Just those two? No Moltres?" Daybreaker raised an eyebrow as it seemed odd that Moltres wasn't included. "Hm. Whatever. Engage with them at once. Let them become extra fuel for Necrozma."
All ships in the sky would turn their attention to Articuno and Zapdos, readying their arsenal. Articuno and Zapdos noticed them turning their attention towards them as their weapons could already be heard charging up. From the ships, beams of light were shot out first at high speeds, attempting to knock them out of the sky. Together, Zapdos and Articuno would start evading these beams of light, dodging them left and right.
As the two continued to evade the beams of light, they began to fly side by side. Articuno's wings would sparkle, sending down a shower of snowflakes and hail at the ship. The hail would collide with the surface of the ship, damaging it.
The solar panels on top were hit and destroyed, which resulted in the engines slowing down. Other ships would come and help defend, blasting Articuno and Zapdos, but they couldn't get through their defenses.
Together, Articuno and Zapdos would release powerful blasts of energy. Articuno's would be a blue ball of cold energy, and Zapdos' would be a yellow ball of electricity. These balls would blast towards the ships, striking them and breaking their shields, dealing major damage.
The solar ships would tremble, some of them slowing down due to the electricity messing with their wiring. Articuno would swoop down, unleashing a wave of ice. This wave would strike the bottom half of the ships, freezing them. Some of the ice would break the ships in the process, causing the bottom halves of them to break off.
Zapdos would charge up his energy, sending a powerful electric shockwave. The wave would strike the frozen parts of the ship, shattering the ice, causing the ships to plummet.
In response to this, the ships amped up their firepower, using more than their light beams. Fro them, they unleashed light waves that rippled across the area as if they were soundwaves. Articuno and Zapdos had to weave between the light waves, avoiding them.
Once the opportunity was clear, the Legendary Birds would send out their attacks. Articuno's was another icy breath attack, and Zapdos' was a lightning strike. Both attacks would strike the ship's engines, knocking the ships out of balance.
At the same time, the Solar Sword was reaching outer space. As this was happening, the clouds would part, allowing the sun's light to shine brightly upon the Solar Sword, bringing out its best qualities under the sunlight.
"Hm. Those two are getting closer, aren't they?" Daybreaker commented on Zapdos and Articuno's performance. "Not a bad performance from the two of them. But I do wonder where the third one is. It's far too odd for them to suddenly appear without the third one. Normally, they would move in a trio when together, so where is Moltres?"
It was rather curious, but also suspicious that Moltres wasn't here. Daybreaker had to wonder why that was the case. If all Legendaries are after her due to her actions, then surely, Moltres should be here right now. That is until, as soon as there were this close to reaching outer space, something bright would shine above the Solar Sword, glistening from the clouds.
They noticed how this one large cloud was glowing, its light intensifying before their very eyes. And at that moment, a powerful burst of flames erupt from the clouds, sending a great shockwave.
The entire sky trembled and shook, the shockwave causing many of the ships and almost the Solar Sword to fall out of balance. The ships would try and correct their momentum, but the flames would spread and burn the wings of the ship, dealing critical damage.
The one responsible for this was Moltres.
"Moltres!" Daybreaker gasped, realizing the true identity of this flame. And all this time, the reason why Moltres was seemingly out of the picture was because this was a sneak attack. As soon as Moltres showed itself, Articuno and Zapdos collectively used Thunderbolt and Ice Beam, targeting the Solar Sword while Moltres used Flamethrower.
It was a pincer attack.
The heat, chill and shock collectively surrounded the Solar Sword, hitting it from both sides. The ship received a staggering hit because of this surprise attack as the culmination of these three beams would result in a blinding light that eclipsed not just the Solar Sword but this part of the sky with a glorious flash.
The Legendary Pokemon continued their pursuit of Daybreaker, present to punish her for what she has done to the world twice now. They would not allow her to cause any more damage to it or even let her come close to having Necrozma absorb absolutely everything.
As the journey continues.
