Cosmic Clash! The threat to our Universe

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Equestria. Out at a lakeside. Afternoon.

Ash was currently resting up. His wound was being tended to. His group had largely left Pegalysium and what was left of it. So many islands have fallen, leaving Pegalysium in its worst state ever. The only place they could go to right now was a lakeside, where Ash would be placed down. He would open his eyes, letting out a sigh.

Right now, Audino's Heal Pulse was keeping him stable, but much like Celestia, the heat that had struck him wasn't something that could be tempered so easily. Still, he was alive, and his friends were happy about that.

"What kind of heat is this? Heal Pulse should've restored him by now. Not even Refresh could get rid of it..." Fluttershy couldn't understand it.

"What do we do now? Pinkie Pie's been captured by that Suntree, a lot of ponies and Pokemon up at Pegalysium are gonna be taken to Necrozma and Pegalysium's a total mess now." Rainbow Dash sighed as they were in a rather rough spot at the moment.

"Well, we're going to be heading out again soon." Spitfire said. "With Princess Celestia out of commission, Princess Luna will be the one giving us orders. I'm not sure she'll let us go straight to Universe 11 and attack the Solar Empire from there so soon. That was Princess Celestia's initial idea and now that's a bust."

"Poor Princess Luna...I bet she's so down because of what happened to Princess Celestia. It's just like Ghetsis all over again." Rarity shook her head. "That monster. I can't believe how far she would go."

"Luna will be fine." Ash suddenly spoke, sitting up despite his injury. "She's way stronger than she was when Celestia got badly hurt back then and even stronger now thatat's she's friends wth Lunar Ire. She'll do great, I just know it." Ash had full faith in Luna, trusting and believing in her to get through this.

"Should you be talking in your condition? That burn is pretty severe." Soarin asked.

"No need to worry. I'll make a recovery soon, I promise. In the meantime, you've all got stuff to do. Right now, I bet Daybreaker's somewhere close to space. Maybe even already at space."

"If she's in space, what are we supposed to do?" Fluttershy questioned. "I don't think we can stop her up there."

"We may not have to go after her in space. We can stop Daybreaker without confronting her up close." Twilight already saw another way. "Spitfire. You said that Princess Luna won't let you enter Universe 11 right away, correct?"

"It's not something she'd do so soon. Princess Luna would much rather keep things safe here and take it to Universe 11 right away. But even so, right now, the Solar Empire's moving across the world and most of Equestria's being flooded with them. We saw so many places lose their light because of those machines."

"I figured that was the case." Twilight sighed. "Then let's try another option. Instead of confronting the Solar Empire again, let's do something in advance. She might be close to Lunala, so we'll go for her opposite. Let's try and reach Solgaleo."

"Solgaleo?!" The group shouted, their eyes widened.

"If we get to Solgaleo before she does then we can prevent Necrozma from gaining even more power. Simple." Twilight added, not needing to explain it that much. "Then, we can focus on stopping Necrozma at only around half power at best."

"But how are we gonna find Solgaleo? The last time Daybreaker went after Lunala, she attacked the moon and ripped a part of it. Discord had to fix it but the Sun is a different story. How will we know where it is? We can't just rip the sun." Rarity stated.

"W-We ain't gonna attack the Sun are we?!" Applejack instantly jumped to the worst possible conclusion.

"What?! No!" Twilight frantically shook her head. "But...there has to be some way to reach Solgaleo."

"I know how." Ash would speak as everyone's attention would turn to him. "Nebby."

"Nebby?" They all said.

"Solgaleo's a friend of mine."

"What?!" Once more, their jaws dropped.

"Yeah. I've met Solgaleo long ago. Back when I was in Alola and Nebby was just a Cosmog. We bonded and he's a friend I hold dear. There's a good chance we can find him. I can't go right now with this pain, so I'm counting on all of you. Go to the Altar of the Sunne, find Nebby and make sure he doesn't get absorbed. He'll know what to do."

"The Altar of the Sunne..." Twilight nodded. "Sounds like a plan. We'll head there and try to find Solgaleo, even if it means interacting with Ultra Space again."

"What about Pinkie Pie? Aren't we going to get her?" Fluttershy was worried about Pinkie Pie since she had been encased in the Suntree's branches and taken away.

"I'm going after Pinkie Pie." Applejack spoke up. "Ya'll focus on getting to Solgaleo. Ah'll meet up with ya'll as soon as possible."

"You're not going at it alone. Doing it solo doesn't prove to be the best option. Let me join you." Rarity offered to help out Applejack. "I bet she's still up there, trying to take the energy from the remaining Pegalysium Islands. The same goes for that Sunrise Sparkle."

"Okay, Applejack and Rarity, go for Pinkie. And the rest of us will get Solgaleo." Twilight agreed to the plan. As for Ash, he had to rest up for a while due to his injury, but he could count on everyone else. Just then, before they could all depart, the Pegalysium Giants raised their heads, hearing something above them. Audino would hear it in advance thanks to her hearing as she raised her head and saw it.

"Wait, girls! Look up!"

Up in the sky, a two islands were descending upon them. One was another city location from Pegalysium and the other was an island that was much more controlled. Specifically, Sunrise Sparkle and the Suntree were seeing controlling the movement of this falling island, heading this way.

"You're not getting away from me that easily. I'm taking Ash Ketchum back and as a bonus, all of you will be drained." Sunrise Sparkle said, using her Royal Canterlot Voice. She figured that he might as well put in some extra effort while she was in this universe, aiming to get Ash and take him back to Universe 11.

Even if that means dropping an entire island around his vicinity.

Outer Space.

In Outer Space, an amazing battle between Psychic-Types was about to begin. Mewtwo and Newtwo stared down the hungry Necrozma, each of them hovering in space. Their arms were crossed, their eyes were closed, and their minds were focused.

Their minds were focused, concentrating, and their psychic prowess was growing. A faint aura of blue was emitting off of their bodies, a sign that their telekinesis were ready.

"Listen. Whatever happens, do not let Necrozm absorb even a slither of your energy." Mewtwo spoke to Newtwo. "I can see that he's already pulsating with stolen energy from minutes ago and is constantly growing in strength."

"You don't have to tell me twice. I feel a lot of dark, negative energies radiating off him." Newtwo opened her eyes. "And not just his either."

"So, you feel it too."

"Who wouldn't? He's not the only thing absorbing energy."

"Daybreaker. Her influence is the same."

"She's no doubt feeding him, sharing her energy with him. Whether it's her own magic or the machines she possesses. You know what we must do. To truly stop this, we have to cut off all connections. Destroy every creation she has so that there isn't a chance for Necrozma to absorb any more energy. On top of that, stopping Daybreaker from heading back to her Universe and gathering more resources. Putting her in a position she can't escape is ideal."

"Are you two done planning your little scheme?" Even though she couldn't hear them speaking telepathically to each other, Daybreaker knew they were plotting something. "If so, then allow us to make the first turn. All ships, fire! Necrozma, use Photon Geyser!"

Upon her command, the ships would begin unleashing a multitude of laser blasts towards the two legendary Pokemon, firing all kinds of light beams at them. Necrozma would also be the next to strike, unleashing his signature move, Photon Geyser.

They weren't about to be taken out that easily, especially not by something like a blast from space. With both their hands out, the Mewtwo duo would collectively synchronize their strength, putting up a reflective shield.

The shield appeared as a massive spiralling purple force that blended in with the cosmos. The light beams met with the shield as all attacks were promptly reflected with tremendous force.

All the laser attacks would return back at the enemy, making contact with the Solar Sword. Some of the ships would have their shields broken in just one strike, leaving them vulnerable and allowing the lasers to hit their hull.

The cannons were the most damaged, having their turrets shattered and the control panels destroyed. Other sections would have their shields penetrated, breaking through and causing some serious internal damage.

Daybreaker was slightly taken aback by this. Just by reflecting their attacks once they did pull off such ginormous damage. The Solar Queen narrowed her eyes as Necrozma flew forward, ready to get up close and personal. "Necrozma! Shadow Claw!"

With his claws surrounded by a spectral aura, Necrozma would charge right at the duo, preparing a powerful slash. Together, Mewtwo and Newtwo looked at each other, nodding in unison. Then, the two of them would flash their eyes, creating a powerful Psychic wall that materialized the second Necrozma's attack approached.

The Shadow Claw struck the wall with tremendous strength as it would also have a reflective pressure applied to it. Necrozma felt his arms tremble hitting this wall as he could also feel his body lowly being reflected back. He roared at the duo, trying to push through.

To prevent him from doing so, Mewtwo would manipulate the wall, causing a Psychic lump to appear that would strike at Necrozma's chest with blunt force, breaking his focus and knocking him away.

Necrozma went hurtling through the cosmic skies, bumping into a ship and almost crashing through it. Daybreaker was watching the whole thing, and even though she was impressed, her expression didn't reflect that.

After pushing him back, Mewtwo and Newtwo would go on the offensive, their arms extended and their bodies floating in place. Their eyes were focused, their pupils locked onto the target, Necrozma. Just then, they began using Psychic in unison, focusing all their strength of the asteroids that floated across space.

Their eyes were fixated, their vision was clear and their minds were focused.

Necrozma and Daybreaker would have no idea what was coming their way, the Prism Pokemon floating back up. Mewtwo and Newtwo were able to manipulate the very nature of the asteroids. First, their size. They could change their mass, manipulating the density, increasing their size until the asteroid became as large as the Solar Sword, maybe even bigger.

Next, the shape. The two Psychic Pokemon were capable of changing the structure of the rocks, moulding them, shaping them, and sharpening them. They would then proceed to combine their powers, creating an army of gigantic asteroids, all the sizes of buildings, and the shapes of spears.

With a swift and fluid motion, the Mewtwo would swing their arms, and on command, the giant collection of spears would launch at their foes. It was like a meteor shower, raining down and piercing the void, the speed was great and the sheer power would be enough to leave a mark.

This was an amazing display of combined Psychic, an absolute sight. Necrozma would receive most of it, having these asteroids batter him but the many ships were not exempt from this either.

A few of the ships were completely destroyed by the massive, gigantic spears. Others would be left with holes and cracks, and even had their shields pierced. The Solar Sword proved to be harder to break through due to its build, but the spears managed to leave a dent in its side.

"Necrozma! Prismatic Lasers!"

On command, Necrozma would let out a roar, his eyes glowing. From his face, he would unleash a burst of colorful light, releasing the Prismatic Lasers, the rainbow-like blast heading right for the two. The lasers even pierced through the other asteroids that approached, cutting right through the middle, slicing them clean and causing them to explode.

However, the lasers would stop in their tracks, blocked by a purple and white force field. The lasers would clash against the Psychic Barrier, the two clashing forces causing an eruption. Mewtwo and Newtwo stood behind their barrier, not letting up and holding it firmly, keeping the lasers at bay.

However, the lasers, with enough force managed to pierce through the Psychic Barrier, forcing the Mewtwo to move out of the way. But as soon as they moved to the side, they felt their bodies held back by something. It was another telekinetic hold but it was not their own. Instead, it belonged to Daybreaker.

She had a devious smirk, using her magic to keep these two still in the air. While keeping them there, the Prismatic Lasers would connect with the duo, blasting them. A colourful array of explosions went off, surrounding their bodies.

"Argh!" Both shouted, feeling the force of the attack and the intense heat that followed. However, together, they managed to break free from Daybreaker's hold and separate themselves from the explosions, creating a Psychic Pulse around their bodies. Daybreaker felt this pulse once it shattered her magic, causing her to stumble back in surprise.

Newtwo and Mewtwo had their arms stretched out, their eyes were glowing and their bodies were engulfed in an aura of light. Once they broke free from the Prismatic Lasers, they collectively used Psystrike, forming a massive sphere of Psychic energy and firing it right at Necrozma.

The ball of light rushed right for the beast, and the moment Necrozma tried to counter it, the attack exploded into a myriad of light and Psychic shards, the explosion spreading out. Necrozma screeched once struck by this, the shockwave managing to send him flying back and crashing right into the Solar Sword, breaking the front window.

Daybreaker's eyes widened, feeling the full impact of the blow as the Solar Sword started shaking, sparks flying and fires burning. "Grk...These two are something else. If I'm not too careful, the worst outcome could come for me."

"Now's our chance. Go for the ship and subdue its functions." Mewtwo said to Newtwo. "Let me handle Necrozma."

"Understood." Trusting him, Newtwo would fly forward, charging straight for the Solar Sword. She would avoid the incoming lasers shot from the ship and would then proceed to dodge the cannon fire, moving in a zig-zag pattern, getting closer and closer. The Solar Sword would then build up a plethora of light, building up to one, big beam.

Newtwo narrowed her eyes at this sight, knowing what was coming next. But she was prepared to deal with it, not just because of her amazing strength. The beam flew out from the Solar Sword, rushing right for the Mewtwo, a blinding light. However, as soon as she made contact with it, a certain other light would go off.

It was the light of Mega Evolution.

With her mega evolution unleashed, Newtwo's form changed as she took on the appearance of Mega Mewtwo Y. This Mega-Evolved form granted her even more power, allowing her to take on the shining beam and even reflect it.

She pushed her arm out, gritting her teeth as she attempted to send this beam back to the Solar Sword to deal staggering damage. The ponies within the ships would have no choice but to end the beam, causing it to diminish to avoid potential critical damage.

Newtwo wasted no time and immediately, she flew forward, rushing through the sky, moving faster than before. She would reach the Solar Sword, and with the help of her psychic abilities, she would be able to phase her body, entering the ship.

Newtwo had made landfall in the ship, her head slowly lowering as she narrowed her eyes at the ponies inside. The Solar Sword has been breached. As soon as she entered, the ship let out a blaring alert, its siren ringing, the lights flashing.

Right away, the ship's defences would activate, the doors sealing off and the hallways shutting down. All systems would undergo an immediate change, the security system now set to lockdown. The only areas not affected would be the bridge and the engine room.

The Solar Sword was just as massive on the inside, having a multitude of rooms that Newtwo would have to traverse through. But she knew that all she had to do was interfere with absolutely everything that she could find. The defences of this massive ship weren't just locked and sealed doors, but also magical forces that have been planted here.

Newtwo would start flying forward, moving through this section of the ship, the door behind her closing shut. Her first obstacle would be a set of magical fluids that attempted to drown her. These fluids had a sparkling appearance, appearing from the walls that would open up with small squares, a bunch of the fluid seeping out.

Newtwo placed a barrier around herself, blocking the magic, which would be the key component of this. The female Mewtwo would have to make sure she avoided the magic that was thrown at her, whether it was the fluids or the barriers. However, the properties of these fluids revealed themselves the longer they were around the barrier.

"W-What?!" They had an adhesive property, sticking onto the Psychic Barrier and attempting to tear it apart. Newtwo had to keep the barrier up and her concentration, even if she had to endure the pressure. To help her, she would use her telekinesis, grabbing the bars and ripping them off the wall.

With the bars and the adhesive fluids, she would throw them at the opposite walls, hoping they'd hit something and shut off the function. Thankfully, that worked, and the liquid was cut off, ceasing its flow. Now, the next threat would show itself, the lights in the hallway shutting off. After doing so, Newtwo broke into the next room in front of her, obliterating the door.

Once inside, she would be met with multiple ponies, each one of them already expecting Newtwo's arrival into this room. The Genetic Pokemon gasped once she saw the magical weapons in front of her, all pointed her way.

The magic from them would be released, and upon the release, a bright flash would illuminate the darkness, a flurry of rays striking the Psychic Pokemon. Once more, she had to be on the defensive for this one, her barrier protecting her from the beams.

But like the adhesive magic, these rays would attempt to weaken the barrier but in a different way. Newtwo noticed how her barrier was beginning to shrink, pushed in by some sort of gravitational pull.

Her barrier started shrinking, attempting to crush her, but she wasn't about to let it happen,. Mega Mewtwo Y would expand her barrier, blowing away all the magic that was fired at her. With the beams dispelled, the lights would turn back on and the floor beneath Newtwo would us Psychic on the soldiers and their weapons, lifting them up.

"Wah! Hey!" One of the ponies cried out, dropping her item.

Newtwo would simply toss them out of the room, throwing the ponies across the halls. Some would bounce against the wall, others would get tangled with the wires that hung above and some would crash through the windows, plummeting from the ship.

As they were taken care of, the female Mewtwo would look ahead, seeing more obstacles up ahead. It was a long way to the main room of this ship, but she was going to do her best to get there, just like how she trusts Mewtwo to handle the rest outside.

Speaking of which, Mewtwo would try his best to keep Necrozma and Daybreaker occupied by himself and by extension, dealing with the other ships that could still function.

"You fool. The two of you seemed like quite the power couple and you just let her go?" Daybreaker smirked at Mewtwo, finding the lack of Newtwo beside her a drawback.

"I trust her. And my faith in her will not be misplaced. We know what we are doing." Mewtwo answered, narrowing his eyes. "Unlike you. Targeting the entire universe for Necrozma, feeding him and using him."

"Hmph. From what I know about, you yourself would do the same, wouldn't you?" Daybreaker replied.

"My past self would've had little care for the universe to be honest. But after meeting Ash Ketchum, my mindset has changed. I can say the same goes for Newtwo, who has also changed her outlook. This world, this universe, it's far too sacred. It's one-of-a-kind and absolutely irreplaceable. You and your Empire will never understand, and for that, you're bound to loss."

"Hm. Fair enough. I wouldn't want to replace my universe either. However, our circumstances are different from one another. I've already made up my mind long ago, deciding on what I wish to do. Among one of those things was promise Necrozma that I'd fully heal him and restore his power."

"I see. So, you have an agenda of your own. You're not just fighting for the sake of it, and yet, that darkness in your heart is what ultimately took over and leads you. It's the same darkness that comes from Necrozma."

"Darkness? There's no darkness in me. This is who I truly am and I've long since embraced that." Daybreaker proudly said. "My past self, Celestia, was held back by far too much, too naive to the greater scope of things. Becoming Daybreaker was a path into the truth of it all. Ideals that cannot protect my subjects can kindly vanish. It's the truth that matters to me and I should embrace it instead of trying to shift it."

"Neither are inherently evil. Ideals can be just as destructive as one's truths. In fact, they can easily lead to the very ideals you're speaking of, especially if someone is willing to do anything for their beliefs. You refuse to find another way to restore Necrozma to his true self."

"Probably because there is no other way. Necrozma's illness is something that meagre things cannot hope to solve. Even after absorbing some of the greatest sources of light, his illness hasn't been cured. Therefore, the absolute absorption of the Universe must be done. And also because this universe is too big of a threat to begin with." Daybreaker shrugged.

"So, you've truly made up your mind on what you wish to do. This is how you wish to help Necrozma?"

"Do you see or hear Necrozma complaining? The two of us forged a promise. We have our own bond and nothing will ever break that. That includes any opposition, including yours."

"So be it. Newtwo and I will bring an end to your mission." Mewtwo held his hand out, preparing a powerful Psychic wave.

"You can try." Daybreaker would spread her wings, letting Necrozma stay back for a moment as her horn started glowing. Both of them began charging their respective attacks. The psychic aura grew strong, emitting off Mewtwo's body and Daybreaker's horn shined bright.

Both would attack at the same time, sending powerful pulses towards one another. The pulses collided, creating a double-sided shockwave. The impact would spread the force, sending ripples that interacted with distant asteroids, causing them to explode and shake the void.

Hoenn. The Ranger Union.

The ripples spread even further than expected, managing to alert the sensors over at the Ranger Union. Their screens saw the intensity of the ripples and they could feel the energy of the waves.

"This is a bit worrisome." A Dispatcher said, seeing the results of the readings. "That much force, even just from the initial collision, could interact with more than just asteroids."

"I wonder what could possibly cause this. Whatever it is, it has the capability to destroy an asteroid or a planet with one blow." An Operator would point out.

"There's also the possibility that it could create a black hole." A scientist would add, looking at the screen.

"A black hole?!"

"It's possible. The force of the wave, its strength, and the size of the object. If the collision were to reach a planet, its gravitational force could pull everything towards it, including other celestial bodies, and cause a collapse.

"We can't have that! Is Princess Luna still occupied at Canterlot?! Call her right away!"

Outer Space.

Back in the cosmic battlefield, Mewtwo was able to break the deadlock, releasing a more powerful pulse and overpowering Daybreaker's. He managed to push her back, knocking her into the air, and then he would take the next move, using Psystrike again.

However, this time, his aim would not be at her, but Necrozma. As Daybreaker regained her footing, she watched as Necrozma would charge at him, attempting to strike him.

"Necrozma, don't fall for it! Move out of the way!"

He would ignore her call and continued rushing forward, attempting to claw him. But it was no use, Mewtwo had his arm raised and he fired his Psystrike straight into Necrozma's stomach, sending him flying back. However, Necrzoma managed to recover right away, flying towards the Genetic Pokemon for a second time.

Mewtwo grit his teeth, seeing how persistent Necrozma was. A second Psytrike was used, only for Necrozma to anticipate this one, cutting it in half with his claws. Using Shadow Claw, Necrozma swung his arms as Mewtwo responded with Fire Punch, igniting his hands.

The two clashed, the fire and the spectral aura would spread out and clash with each other. Their strength seemed equal from the initial collission but it didn't take long for the shadowy aura to overcome the fiery punch. Mewtwo knew that, and he could sense the power in the Prism Pokemon, so it was no surprise to him.

He would add some more oomph to his flames, keeping the struggle going. The flames would roar along with the shadows, their auras expanding and waving aggressively on opposite sides. Neither side managed to overpower the other as this struggle kept on. And the effects it had were very much noticeable, especially from Daybreaker.

The ripples they caused were starting to reach distant planets. The planets, though far, would feel the ripple, causing their surfaces to tremble a bit, threatening to go even further. Any moons nearby weren't exempt from this either, especially the Moon most common to Earth.

All scientists on Earth focused on the readings coming from outer space and they all came to one conclusion. A rather terrifying conclusion.

"If this keeps, our Solar System and possibly beyond might be destroyed!"

As the journey continues.
