My Little Pokémon: Grander World
The Link Union
Previous ChapterNext ChapterUniverse 11. The Solar Empire. Nightfall.
Elsewhere in Universe 11, Spitfire and her team were doing a great job at trying to bring the factory in Ponyville done. Any guards that tried to stop them were knocked out by their Pokemon. All machines would be smashed apart by the Pokemon with strength while others would be melted by those of fiery types.
The residents of Ponyville couldn't believe what they were seeing. These Solar Empire Guards were being taken down at last, no longer breathing down their necks and watching over them.
"H-How did they catch us off guard?" One guard said before fainting.
"Whew." Spitfire wiped her brow. before facing the ponies here.
"You...You defeated them." They were so stunned that the thought of these guards being defeated seemed outlandish. They stayed silent for a moment, unsure of how to react. But then, they started cheering. "You beat them! You really beat them!"
"I'm glad we could help." Spitfire smiled. "But geez...It took you a while for that to register? How bad was it here?"
"For over...I haven't been keeping track of the years. It's been far too long. We've been working for so long..." The Pony from Ponyville spoke, looking around at the fallen guards. "It feels like a dream come true."
"Well, it's not a dream. This is reality. We're here to help you all." Spitfire stated. "I'd love to stick around and chat but we have to get going. There's still a lot of work to do. I bet there's more of these factories across the Solar Empire."
"W-Wait! What should we do now?" A pony asked.
"You can do whatever you want. Just hold on tight. We're gonna beat Daybreaker and put a stop to this." Spitfire winked, ready to set out with her fellow Wonderbolts. Defeating Daybreaker sounded insane to the ears of the Ponyville Residents. But Universe 1's individuals do pull off insane things and they were going to make sure this was no different.
As Spitfire and the Wonderbolts ruined the factory here, Applejack and Universe 11’s Fluttershy were on their way to find Universe 11’s Rarity and Pinkie Pie. The two ponies navigated through the town, keeping an eye out for any guards. But thankfully, the Wonderbolts dealt with them all.
"This place sure is somethin' else," Applejack muttered, glancing around at the desolate landscape. "Ain't like our Ponyville at all. I'm feeling sad looking at it.
They soon arrived at a rundown part of town where Universe 11’s Rarity was known to be staying. Applejack knocked on the door of what looked to be Carousel Boutique. After a moment, the door creaked open, revealing a haggard yet elegant Rarity.
"Hmmm...? Fluttershy?" Rarity blinked with a weak tone, looking at her friend who she hadn't interacted with all that much in years due to all this work. But she was more shocked to see Applejack, unaware that this was not her Applejack. "Applejack? Is that really you? I thought you were still a Suntree.
Applejack tipped her hat. "Not exactly the Applejack you know, sugarcube. I'm from a different universe."
"Different...Universe?" Rarity's eyes widened. "How did you get here?"
"That's a long story, but we're here to help." Applejack said."And uh...talk for a bit with you, if that's okay.
Rarity nodded slowly, stepping aside to let them in. She led them into the living room and sat down on a couch. The inside of her home had changed too, no longer being as fancy as she would like it to be. The once elegant decor was now replaced with practical, worn furniture and signs of makeshift repairs. It was more of a simple house now, with only the essentials.
Fluttershy looked around, feeling a pang of sadness for her friend. "Rarity, it's been so long...I haven't talked to you or Pinkie Pie in years. We've been so busy working and working..."
"Mm." Rarity lightly nodded while shoving aside some items. "It's fine. Not like we've seen the others. Twilight...or I suppose, Sunrise, is too busy being second-in-command to Daybreaker. Rainbow Dash is now a full part of that fleet, living her dream I suppose. And our Universe's Applejack is still a Suntree. I suppose we have a lot to catch up on." Rarity sighed. "I haven't been able to talk to anyone in a while. Not since the factory opened up here. I'm sorry if I'm not acting like my usual self."
"What about Pinkie Pie? What happened to her?" Applejack was curious about this Universe's Pinkie Pie.
"She went back to her Rock Farm to be with her family. Although, it was to do more manufacturing. I can't imagine what they're doing to her there. I'm sure she's just as miserable as us." Rarity replied. "But enough about me. What brings you both here? I doubt you came all this way to see how I'm doing. It'd be pointless for that if you're from another universe."
"Yeah, it would. But that's not why I'm here...even though this all bums me out. I'm here because I need your help. I'm heading over to one of the factories to shut down all that Rift Energy. The Wonderbolts and I are gonna do just that."
"Shut down Rift Energy..." Rarity narrowed her baggy eyes. "Doing that would ruin so much, especially Universal Travel."
"Applejack spoke to me earlier today. She asked for my help to empty out the pool of Rift Energy for the Solar Empire. I went against it since I was't so sos sure...but I really want things to go back the way they were." Fluttershy whimpered, lowering her head. "My animals are so tired and weak from the lack of...being themselves, really. If we don't do something soon, then I fear the worst will happen to them. I can't let that happen."
"...What can I do? I only make armor sets for the Solar Empire. Even then, I don't have the time to fully customize their designs. Sucks all the life out of it. Why would you need me to shut down a Rift Factory of all things?"
"I don't just need you. I need everypony's help. Everypony from Ponyville to do something about this. And that includes you, Rarity." Applejack told her. "The other you is doing her best to bring an end to this. So, what about you? Are you going to help us or not?"
Rarity was silent for a moment, unsure of what to say. She wasn't sure if she could trust these two. For all she knew, they could be working for the Solar Empire. But she saw the look in their eyes. It was a look of hope, one that she hadn't seen in years.
"I suppose...I can try." Rarity finally spoke, standing up from the couch. "It's not like I have anything else to lose. And if there's a chance that I can help save the universe, then I'll take it. Sweetie Belle's all grown up and instead of living her dream, she's working at a factory. I'm sure she'd want this too. There is one thing I can do for you that might work..."
Universe 5.
Meanwhile, the location of Twilight Sparkle and the others had been found, a crack forming in Universe 5 which was gradually turning into a gateway. The Solar Empire were coming through, ready to invade this universe to find Solgaleo.
Viewing this from her base of operations, Sunrise Sparkle, who was out of her fused state, focused directly on Universe 5, seeing a powerful energy signature coming from there. A signature powerful enough to be Solgaleo's.
"There you are." She spoke, knowing that was Solgaleo without a doubt. "Try and run to another Universe and I'll find you there. In fact, at this moment, other ships are already making their way to those other worlds."
More and more the crack was growing, showing that the gateway was nearing completion. Fluttershy's spell was slowly being destroyed because of this and if this keeps up, her Universe will most certainly be ruined. There was no time. She had to bestow magic to the residents of Alola as soon as possible to pull off the Link Union.
"Alright, everyone. I'll bestow magic upon you all right now. But we have to make this quick. The Solar Empire will be here any second." Princess Fluttershy said while facing the residents of Alola.
"We're ready!" They all agreed, getting ready to join hands.
"Okay." Princess Fluttershy smiled. "Let's begin."
She stood there, facing them all as the tip of her horn started glowing. It would be difficult to get every single person magic, but she was willing to do it. With her horn glowing, she began to imbue magic within each of them.
The process took a few moments, with the residents of Alola feeling something different. They felt a warmth in their chests, a warm sensation spreading throughout their entire bodies. It was a strange yet pleasant feeling.
They all gasped, seeing a light form on their chests, lightning the place up. Each of them all had different magical colours, representing themselves. A marvelous sight to behold, a true spectacle of magic.
"This feels amazing!" Mallow's eyes sparkled while looking at the rest of the people who gained magic, including Pokemon like Rockruff and Torracat. "I feel so energized!"
"Mhm! And it's so natural too." Lana's eyes lit up, her cheeks flushed. All of them felt energized in some way as the magic that flowed within them felt so natural. It didn't feel unusual to them whatsoever. Whatever this magic was, it blended well with them all.
"This...is incredible." Kiawe watched as his own magical aura flared up, showing a fire-like presence.
"Truly is." Olivia agreed as a magical aura surrounded her. She was more than impressed by this display of magic. "It's like it's always been a part of us. What is this magic?"
"Phew..." Princess Fluttershy sighed, lowering her head as that was all she could do. She could not grant magic to every single person from Alola, only a chunk of them, but it would have to do. "That's all I can do for now. We have to make use of it immediately. Please...all of you. Join hands, paws, claws and whichever limbs you all may have."
It was time for the Link Union Spell to be executed. The residents of Alola did just that, coming together to join hands. Their combined magical energy would soon flow through each of them, forming an aura around their bodies.
The people and Pokemon closed their eyes, focusing on their bond with each other and the magic they just gained. They could feel their emotions growing stronger, becoming more powerful.
Twilight and her friends joined in, their hooves being connected and held by the hands of the Alolans. Pikachu looked up at Solgaleo, who would share his strength as well. He didn't need to connect his paws with anyone else, mainly because he was far too large for that. But instead, he could focus his energy into Princess Fluttershy, who would act as the center of it all.
The Alolan residents' hands were now interlocked, connecting them all. As they all concentrated, their magical auras grew even brighter, engulfing the entire area with light. It was so bright that it could be seen from high up in the sky itself.
Princess Fluttershy could feel the power growing within them and how it was getting stronger. It was clear that the Link Union had begun to form, with its magical energy being released. The power of all of their feelings was starting to take shape, manifesting itself in front of her eyes.
The power of the spell spread far and wide, reaching the crack that tried to form into a gateway. It was so great that it went past the crack, entering Universe 11 itself.
A shimmering and wonderful glow entered this blazing Universe, immediately beginning to colour the skies with its colours. This light was enough to reach Daybreaker herself, making her turn around and gasp at what she saw. "W-What?!"
The Link Union Spell started to cover the land, its radiant light spreading everywhere. The people of the Solar Empire looked up at it in awe, unable to believe what they were seeing. All of the fighting stopped just to bare witness to this grand spell. Even Zekrom had to look at what was coming this way.
"Nnh...?" Zero grunted, his eyes slowly opening as he watched the colourful light reaching him, feeling its warmth. "This magic...What is this?"
"What's going on in Universe 5?!" Sunrise widened her eyes, turning around to see the glowing light. "And what even is this magic?! I've never felt something like this before...!"
Meanwhile, the residents of Ponyville looked at the sky in amazement. They had never seen anything like it before. It was such a beautiful sight that made their hearts fill with joy and hope.
Even the guards of the Solar Empire couldn't help but stare at the sight with wonder, their weapons lowering down as they gazed upon it.
"This magic...It's so warm." Sunrise muttered, standing still. She felt like she could stand there forever, letting it wash over her. It was a strange yet comforting feeling. It was almost like someone was giving her a hug or embracing her with love. However, despite the feeling, it was directly targeted to halt her and the Solar Empire, planning to trap them in a state of frozen time. "Wait...I-I can't move...!"
Her body began to freeze up as the Link Union continued to build up, its power increasing exponentially. It was already starting to take effect, with the Solar Empire now becoming affected by the spell. They all slowly got down on their knees, struggling to even stay upright.
The entire landscape became encased in this magic, gradually preventing any movement from anyone. Every living creature within the Solar Empire found themselves unable to move. The air itself became thick and heavy, making breathing difficult for some.
The Solar Empire ships, including the ones heading towards Universe 5's gateway, were also starting to experience the effects of the spell. Many of them could no longer fly properly, staying in the air with no progress whatsoever.
Noticeably, it had no effect on those that were considered friendly. That was a major benefit to the spell. Anyone the magic did not perceive as a threat would remain unaffected, keeping their ability to move.
All Solar Empire forces within the vicinity of this spell would find themselves inactive right away, their bodies immobilised.
"Whatever this spell is...Its purpose to immobilise us indefinitely." While Daybreaker didn't know what the spell was, she was knowledgable in magic to figure out its properties. "It can't be Celestia doing this. This doesn't feel like her magic. Whoever it is...They'll soon know that this is pointless!" With a booming voice, Daybreaker would perform a counter spell.
A blazing flare erupted from her horn, breaking through the light that surrounded her. She began pushing back against the Link Union Spell, showing that she wasn't going down without a fight. She stood her ground, using her own magic to try and break free.
Now, a struggle between Daybreaker's Magic and the Link Union began. Daybreaker's magic was so potent that all in the way in Universe 5, everyone partaking in the Link Union felt it. They gasped, feeling a shock to their bodies as if they were being attacked.
"What's happening?! Is this part of the spell?!" An Alolan said.
"It's Daybreaker...!" Princess Fluttershy already figured out who was pushing back against this spell.
In Universe 1, currently making their way to Alola were Ash, Cobalion and Shooting Star as Ash could be seen riding on Dragonite, the seal on his back doing wonders for him. The burning pain was still present but he could at least do something without having to worry about it constantly. But as they were making their way towards Alola, that's when Ash saw someone up ahead.
A certain Gardevoir could be seen flying in the direction of Alola as well. Celestia's Gardevoir Passion to be exact, wearing Celestia's Saddlebag around her arm and everything.
"Passion?"
"Garde?" Passion looked over, seeing these familiar faces. "Gardevoir!"
"Nice, you're okay! And what about Celestia?! Is she alright?!" Ash asked as Dragonite flew over to Passion.
"V-Voir..." Gardevoir wishes she could say that. Alas, Celestia was still in the hospital, suffering from that blazing pain, unable to move. It made her sad thinking about it.
"She's resting up, huh...?" Ash understood, seeing the saddened face on Passion. "No need to worry. I'm sure she'll be up soon. But that bag...isn't that hers?"
"You're not thinking of doing what I think you are?" Cobalion questioned the Embrace Pokemon. Indeed, Gardevoir was going to do things in Celestia's place, such as becoming her own Pokemon Trainer.
"Garde!" Gardevoir confirmed this to be the case. Since Celestia was inactive, she felt the need to do this. To make it up to Celestia by stopping the Solar Empire.
"Are you in any proper condition to do this? Especially without Celestia?" Cobalion asked her, knowing full well about her current state after her battle with Daybreaker.
"Gardevoir!" Passion felt that without a doubt. But Cobalion saw it as something different. She seemed so desperate to get this done. Desperate enough to leave Celestia's side. He didn't want to question why, but he felt it was important to know. Gardevoir knew it would be dangerous, especially with how she was defeated but she wanted to try regardless.
"Well, you're not going to do it alone." Ash replied. "Even if Celestia isn't with you, you're never gonna do it on your own."
"Precisely." Just then, from the saddlebag, one of the Poke Balls started glowing, a powerful voice coming from it. It was the voice of Reshiram as an orange light emerged from the bag. Reshiram forced himself out of the Poke Ball, already knowing Passion's decision. He'd turn around, facing his teammate. "Passion. I already figured you would try this, but I said nothing at all. Going at this alone was your only thought, wasn't it?"
"Garde..." Passion answered, lowering her head.
Reshiram lowered his head too. "It was a foolish move. You shouldn't go through this on your own. However, I have no doubt Celestia would do the same." His frown turned into a smile, raising his head while looking directly at Passion. "I will follow you as well."
"V-Voir...?!" A smile soon formed on her face. The Embrace Pokemon did feel like she jumped the gun a bit too fast, deciding to rush in on her own, even if she had the rest of Celestia's Pokemon with her. But even if Celestia wasn't with her, she still had the rest of her friends by her side, which was more than enough.
"Alright! Then it's all of us straight to Alola!" Ash said with a wide grin before looking onwards. In the distance, a gateway to one of Alola's could be seen. Once they're through that gateway, they'll be in the hotspot of all the action, according to Cobalion. They moved on with Passion, Reshiram and the rest of Celestia's Pokemon joining them.
Zekrom took advantage of the situation before him, seeing how many of the Solar Empire's forces were currently frozen. However, with Daybreaker pushing back against the spell, she could potentially reverse that very soon.
Time was limited and they could be free once more. The Dragon of Ideals continued on his way, spreading far and wide. And this time, the soldiers had no way of defending themselves. As he approached her, he let out a loud roar, gaining her attention.
She turned around, narrowing her eyes at the sight of Zekrom. "There you are. Zekrom." The Solar Queen said, managing to break free of the Link Union's effects as she could be seen moving. Even when moving, she was able to keep up this counter spell.
"Daybreaker." Zekrom spoke back to her.
"Bold move coming to my Universe. I assume you've already heard the news. How I absolutely defeated Celestia and by extension, your brother Reshiram. Even though he didn't battle at all, with Celestia down, she and any of her Pokemon won't be an issue. You'll meet the same fate, just like every other version of yourself that I've defeated."
"While you're occupied with this? It's my chance to defeat you and put an end to this once and for all. If we can defeat you here, then there will be no more Solar Empire. Your fleet will fall apart and your empire will be no more."
"Eh. I doubt that. I have full faith in Sunrise Sparkle to take my place and keep things going. Not that I will lose either way. On top of that, you're forgetting one more factor in all of this." Daybreaker winked as Zekrom gasped, realizing what that was. Barging through the walls was Dawn Wings Necrozma, launching his body at Zekrom.
The Dragon of Truth was tackled at full force, being sent crashing to the next room. He got up, facing the beast, finally coming face to face with him. Dawn Wings Necrozma roared at Zekrom, knowing he would give him outstanding energy to absorb.
"Necrozma! Keep him busy while I push back this spell!" Daybreaker commanded as Necrozma responded with a roar. "Once he's dealt with, I want you to absorb all the light from him!"
Necrozma would gladly do so. He began his assault on Zekrom as the battle between the two had begun. Zekrom couldn't afford to waste time, having to fight Necrozma at full power to get it done quickly.
Necrozma advanced, using Giga Impact to launch himself at Zekrom once more, only for Zekrom to respond with a blast of electricity from his body, hitting Necrozma at close range. Necrozma flinched but kept going, using Photon Geyser immediately. Zekrom took flight the second the photons were being gathered, leaving behind a trail of electricity as he flew around.
He moved so fast that Necrozma could barely see where he was. He ended up getting hit by Zekrom's Fusion Bolt, causing the Prism Pokemon to be knocked back. But even after that, he didn't stop charging the photons. Dawn Wings Necrozma got off his attack, firing a blast of charged photons straight towards Zekrom.
Zekrom was hit, feeling the immense pain of the beam. All those photons felt like they were piercing right through him. But he managed to endure it, responding with a Dragon Pulse. The attack hit Necrozma head on, causing the latter to fall over. Necrozma got up, letting out another roar at Zekrom.
Upon getting up, the Prism Pokemon would use Prismatic Lasers, his body lighting up with an array of colours, ready to release an absolute onslaught of lasers. Zekrom knew what was coming and already planned to avoid every single one of them. He took flight, zooming back to gain some distance before flying to the side. He avoided the first laser that was fired from Necrozma's mouth, moving around to dodge the next one.
Necrozma continued firing his lasers, releasing them rapidly as they would break through various walls in the castle. The castle itself was being destroyed because of these lasers. This helped Zekrom since it meant the castle would take more damage, its resources being stripped away because of all this destruction.
After dodging a few more lasers, he'd respond with a Thunderbolt. Necrozma took it, shrugging it off. The Dragon of Ideals charged up a Bolt Strike, ready to smash into the Prism Pokemon. Necrozma was about to do the same but with Giga Impact, the two attacks collided with one another, with Necrozma's attack pushing forward.
The force of these two attacks meeting sent grandiose shockwaves across and outside the castle. Everyone in Canterlot felt it as well, having to hold on for dear life as the very ground shook beneath their feet. The air grew more intense and chaotic, rippling aggressively as the many machines were also disrupted by this.
Necrozma gained the upper hand with his attack, pushing Zekrom back, making the Dragon of Truth crash through wall after wall. With such incredible speed, it wasn't long before Zekrom crashed outside, still being pushed by Necrozma's attack.
Necrozma was relentless in his attack, not stopping until he had Zekrom defeated. Even after Zekrom was pushed outside of the castle, he would use Prismatic Lasers to follow up, bombarding him with laser after laser. Zekrom got up, using his tail to smack away the first laser. Then he used his wings to block the next one.
But even when blocking them, there was no escaping them. His body would be pelted with each laser. He let out a roar as his body began to spark with electricity, unleashing a powerful thunderstorm. He sent the lightning straight at Necrozma, hitting him with full force.
Dawn Wings Necrozma roared in pain as that was the heaviest attack he had taken so far. His body would soon be encased in electricity, getting shocked by the storm. It left him paralyzed for a bit, giving Zekrom a chance to retaliate.
As for the Thunderstorm, Zekrom kept it coming, bolts of lightning aggressively crashing down everywhere, targeting everyone in the Solar Empire. This lightning attack struck many ships and even the ground, causing an electrifying effect.
Even Daybreaker couldn't help but feel the effects of this attack as she tried to fight back the Link Union Spell, the electricity rushing through her body. She was able to endure it, not allowing it to make her stop moving.
"Blast it! They'll ruin our chances of reaching Universe 5!" Sunrise Sparkle groaned at this great interference as the gateway to Universe 5 was weakening because of this battle.
"What do we do?! We won't be able to keep the gateway steady!" A pony asked. "All the other gateways we've opened will close up at this rate!"
"Don't lose focus on Universe 5 whatsoever!" Sunrise ordered. She still couldn't move but she could at least use her magic, focusing it on the control module. "I'll make this easier on us. I'll merge all the gateways into one and just focus on that one."
"Merge them all? That'll put too much strain on the machines!" One of the ponies said as it sounded like a high-risk attempt. But Sunrise was more than willing to take that risk.
Using her magic, she would start hanging the location of the current gateways, minimizing them from the universes they found themselves in. By removing them, they would be redirected to just one universe in one point Universe 5. All the gateways were being moulded together, fixated on the crack that had yet to form into a full-fledged gateway.
Universe 5.
Those at Universe 5 saw it. The sight of the gateway finally forming into a full blown gate, but not with just one dimension. Instead, multiple gateways were merging together, showing how many portals to other Universes had been opened up.
Even though the Link Union was holding back the rest of the Solar Empire, thanks to Daybreaker's Counter Spell, this gateway was able to form.
"Oh no..." Princess Fluttershy gasped at this sight. Even though the ships still couldn't move, unable to pass through the gateway at the moment, thanks to the Counter Spell, Sunrise Sparkle could feel her body moving a bit. She was starting to move, her hooves twitching and her wings spreading.
"A-All units...Enter Universe 5 when you can!" Sunrise ordered while forcing herself to move forward, struggling greatly with each step. Her magic was already in full force, her horn glowing brightly as it allowed her to use her telekinesis. She used her magic to pull the control module to her.
Spotting this in the distance was Necrozma, who was blasted out of the castle by Zekrom's Lightning. He saw it. The gateway to Universe 5 was out in the open. Another Universe with fresh light. In fact, when looking at the gateway, he sensed the tremendous amount of Light Energy coming from it. This was thanks to the Link Union which had the power of so any individuals including Solgaleo.
The Prism Pokemon turned his attention away from Zekrom and instead focused on that Universe. Hesitating absolutely nothing, he would change his target, zooming toward the gateway. Zekrom flew out of the broken castle, witnessing how Dawn Wings Necrozma was ignoring him outright.
Zekrom wasn't sure why that was the case, but if that gateway leads to the Main Universe, he would make sure he would stop him. And even if it didn't, no matter what, Zekrom could not allow Necrozma to gain any more strength.
Appleloosa.
At last, Applejack and the Wonderbolts had arrived at one of the major Rift Factories out here in Universe 11. Appleloosa. Specifically, from Underground. All 12 of her Golett dug through the Earth, creating an underground pathway to Appleloosa. The very moment they made it up, Applejack and the others would emerge, witnessing the sight before them.
This Rift Factory was massive, far larger than the one in Ponyville. It became one big Factory City, losing its original image. There were several buildings and structures all over, along with various types of machines and vehicles. There were even airships flying overhead, hovering around the area.
"Good gravy, y'all." Applejack's eyes widened in awe at the size of this city. "I don't recognize this as Appleloosa at all."
"So, are you sure this is where most Rift Energy is made?" Spitfire asked Fluttershy.
"Mhm. Here and Manehattan. The Rift Pool is somewhere in the very middle, I think."
"Right then. We'll just have to find it and put a stop to it. The middle right?" Applejack narrowed her eyes while adjusting her hat. "With these outfits Rarity gave us, it'll be a lot of help."
Speaking of the outfits she gave them, since Rarity was known for making armour sets for the Solar Empire, in this instance, she made some special armour for Applejack and the Wonderbolts.
Armor made out of a unique magic that concealed their bodies with excellent camouflage, capable of changing colours, blending in with the environment or remaining the same colour as the wearer's fur.
They were also lightweight, allowing them to move freely. Since she was one of the Armor Makers in the Solar Empire, it was easy for her to gift them this. Now, they had to use what they had to the best of their abilities while focusing on this mission. Because they only had one shot at this.
As the journey continues.
