My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Feast of Nightmares! Victory is within your sights
Previous ChapterNext ChapterUniverse 11. Appleloosa. Appleloosa's Rift Factory. Nightfall.
Applejack and the Wonderbolts were about to begin their big plan, finally showing up at Appleloosa, taking the underground path. The group would enter the Rift Factory, with the other Fluttershy leading the way. Their objective was simple; Find the Rift Pool and destroy it. As they got deeper into the city, they had to do their best to avoid being seen by the many guards.
This Rift Factory, in comparison to Ponyville's, was not only larger but had greater security. This meant there were more soldiers around than back home.
Applejack and the Wonderbolts followed the pegasus, sticking to the shadows whenever they could. Thankfully, their armours blended well with their surroundings, helping them remain unseen.
They made it to what appeared to be a power plant of sorts. In the distance, they could see a large machine that was releasing electricity into the sky. The electricity was being gathered and used to create a powerful shield around the entire facility.
Not only that, but some things here were powered by flames, most likely Daybreaker's own flames. The flames helped fuel the machines and created a strong amount of energy. There were even Solar Ships hovering overhead, gathering the electricity produced from the plant.
"Is that the centre right there?" Spitfire asked Fluttershy, focusing on a distant structure in the middle of the city. It was the tallest building around, standing at least 200 feet high. It was a cylindrical tower-like building with a glowing red orb floating in the middle of it.
"Mhm. That's it." Fluttershy confirmed with a nod.
"Well then, we know where to go. But first, we have to disable this power plant." Spitfire said. "If we take it out, we should be able to shut down the shields. Once they're gone, we can proceed towards the tower. I bet my Electrivire can shut them down quick enough."
"But how are you all going to get rid of Rift Energy? It's not like water where you can find a way to get rid of it. It always manages to recover and regain some of itself, just to start up again." Fluttershy questioned, wondering how they could pull it off.
"That's easy. Applejack here has Aura. Aura's a great counter to Rift Energy. Once she's near it, she'll use all that Aura in her to erase it." Spitfire replied as they watched the electricity being emitted from the plant. "I'm sure your friend over there would agree with me." She turned around to one of the Golett that Applejack brought along, giving him a pat on the head.
"Gol!" The Golett nodded his head, showing that he agreed with what Spitfire said.
"Leave clearing the Aura to me." Applejack grinned as they continued on the way to the Power Plant.
"There's also something I think we should worry about." Fluttershy said while looking up at the ships above. "This factory is also being powered by the light from the Sun. It's probably connected to the sun too. If the Rift Factory in Manehattan is anything like this one, then the entire city will be covered in sunlight that'll allow the Solar Empire to operate with full force."
"You think the Light is being siphoned from the sun?" Spitfire asked.
"Uh...We'll cross that bridge when we get there." Applejack uttered. She didn't want to admit it but this was one thing she couldn't do anything about. Even if the shield was disabled, there was still a chance for the Rift Factory to be powered by the sunlight from the Sun. For now, they should just focus on the Rift Pool here.
They all hid behind the many crates around them, observing the guards that were scattered all around the area. There were only a few of them, nothing too bad. What they had to do was take care of the machines around here.
"So, here's the plan. We go around and eliminate all the soldiers around here. Once they're gone, we take out these machines. This power plant has to go down so we can get outta here." Applejack told the others.
They were on the way with all 12 of the Golett using their Ghostly Attributes to phase through solid walls for extra stealth. Rarity took the time to give them their own armour sets that were their size. Rather simple since they were so small despite there being 12 of them. And speaking of Ghosts, Spitfire was once again counting on her Froslass, who checked herself out in this stealthy armour set.
The soldiers weren't aware of any intruders. They just carried on with their normal routine, walking around the place and keeping watch over the plant. But the second they heard the sound of a Pokemon cry, they knew something was wrong.
"What was that?!" One of the guards cried, pulling out his light spear. "It sounded like it was close!"
"W-Why are you asking us?! How should we know?!"
"Hmm...Hold on for a moment." A soldier said before flying off. He looked around, trying to find the source of the noise. "Anypony over there? It sounded like it came from the other side of that crate." The soldier spoke while pointing at it.
He went for it, ready to find whatever made that noise. However, he was suddenly knocked out from above. A ghostly figure fell from above, landing right on top of him. The second the others saw this, they pointed their light spears at the figure. It was indeed one of the Golett, staring right back at them.
"What the-" Before they could do anything, more of the Golett snuck behind them while their attention was elsewhere, knocking them out as well with a cooperative Shadow Punch. They all landed on the ground, unconscious. With this group out of the way, the Golett gathered all the light spears and placed them inside a nearby crate, closing it shut.
Once they were down, the Goletts phased through the walls once more, making their way through the facility.
As soon as another guard came around the corner, he saw an unexpected sight. Two of the Golett were standing right before him, both of them using the Ghostly Attribute, allowing them to float around. "Eh? Pokemon? How did they get here?"
"Gol..." Both of them said, acting quite calm. They simply poked each other in the face, giving the soldier a bit of relief. It wasn't until he heard a scream from afar, having to turn around. The moment he turned his head, he was frozen by Froslass, who had him in her grasp.
She grinned at the Golett, giving them a thumbs up while dragging the soldier away. Applejack and the others approached Froslass, seeing she had done her job. "Nice work, Froslas." Spitfire said with a smile.
"Frossss!" She nodded while pointing at the soldier, who was encased in a block of ice. "Froslass!"
"I'll take that." Applejack would use her telekinesis to levitate the soldier over. Once she got a hold of him, she placed him inside a nearby crate, closing the lid shut.
They continued on, hiding behind cover as more soldiers and workers flew above, unaware of their presence. As they watched them go, they would have a couple of soldiers walking their way. The group hid behind the nearest crate, waiting for the right moment.
When the guards walked past them, the second they were gone, they were taken down with a sudden attack. They were dragged away, put into a crate together. The rest of the Golett phased through the walls, taking down a couple more soldiers while the rest were taken care of by the main group.
With each soldier being taken out one by one, they were able to make some good progress, getting closer to the centre of the plant. As they headed toward their destination, they heard a loud bang, coming from the distance. They could even see sparks of electricity flying about.
"What was that?" Applejack raised a brow, wondering what that was. They looked over the railing, noticing something in the distance. There was a large machine that was now sparking with electricity. One of the Golett must've caused it, damaging the machine greatly.
Applejack smirked at this, seeing they were doing good work. With that in mind, they continued on their way, knowing that their time here was limited. They came across another set of guards but this time, there were far more of them. At least three groups of six in the area. However, right up ahead, Applejack saw a very familiar face in this section of the factory.
It was Second Wind.
She had left her Universe to show up here to this other Rift Factory which was similar to the one she had back home, but far smaller. And currently, she was speaking with the workers and guards here.
"Well, tell Daybreaker I need some extra Rift Energy! My own factory's been totalled because of that battle and I can't even get Pinnaculum Pegalysium off the ground anymore!" She groaned in frustration. "I haven't even been able to open that Clock Door to change time! That blasted Shooting Star did a better job sealing it than I expected!"
"But we don't have enough energy to give you, Ma'am!" One of the workers said while showing her the numbers. "See? The readings here say we barely have any energy at all. It's due to the battle happening in Canterlot."
"Well, hurry up and make more! This place should have the most Rift Energy here, so prove it already. I'll wait for at least ten minutes." The Grand Queen tapped her hoof impatiently.
"T-Ten minutes?!"
"Yes, Ten Minutes. Is that too much for you?"
"No, Ma'am!" The worker shook his head, getting back to work.
"Perfect. Because I need to get back into the swing of things at once. No thanks to Sunrise Sparkle interfering, my plans have been set back. But not for long..." Second Wind narrowed her eyes, ready to resume her plan.
As she waited for the energy to be gathered, she would notice something moving nearby. "Hm?" She spotted something from the corner of her eye. A crate was levitating through the air, hovering in the middle of the facility. The crate would stop floating, but Second Wind knew what she saw. She raised a brow, wondering what was going on. "Hmmm."
Applejack moved away, making sure Second Wind wouldn't spot her. The Grand Queen kept a close eye on the area, suspecting there were intruders around. She then spotted a figure in the distance, hiding behind some crates.
She squinted her eyes, trying to get a good look at the individual. "Is that a pony?" She asked herself, seeing the person was covered by armour that blended in with the surroundings. "There's no way those ponies could've made it all the way here."
But before she could do anything, she spotted another crate floating nearby. As if someone was levitating it with magic. "That's not one of our machines." The Grand Queen stated while noticing that the crate was slowly heading toward the central power generator.
She looked back at the other one, who had now moved to the side, keeping out of sight. Second Wind could only wonder what was going on as more of the Golett began taking out more soldiers in secrecy. They all remained invisible, using their Ghostly Attributes to their advantage.
One of the guards would see a crate floating, getting closer to the centre of the plant. "Uh, Ma'am! You might want to take a look at this!" He said, pointing at it.
"What's that?" Second Wind turned her attention to it. She couldn't tell if that was actually an object or just a figment of her imagination.
"It's levitating! We didn't build it!"
"You mean you don't know what's going on right now?!"
"No!"
"Tch. I have a good feeling as to what it could be. Those pests must have found their way to this universe. Either that or they sent an agent here." The Grand Queen guessed, suspecting a pony or even a Pokemon was behind this. "If that's true, then this will make things far more difficult for me. But still, it is very unlikely they'll be able to stop this all. Not with the Light from the Sun fueling our factory."
Having the Sun support the Rift Factory was a massive benefit due to how untouchable it was. And in a universe such as this it was a gigantic positive.
"Some of you, start searching and do your job. If you find any intruders, then take them out immediately. Do not let them get close to the generator." She ordered some of the soldiers, having them fly off.
As they did so, Second Wind spotted another crate nearby, levitating in the air. She turned her head, seeing it heading toward the generator. "Hmph. I can't believe they managed to find a way here." The Grand Queen stated while watching it float around.
"Ma'am! This one's also floating too!" A soldier pointed out to her, showing that it was moving as well.
"I can see that!" She said with annoyance in her voice, knowing that something was truly off. The rest of you, standby until I say otherwise. And keep working on getting me those Rift Energy numbers!" She ordered the workers, keeping an eye on the flying crates. "This will be a great surprise for them!"
Canterlot.
With Necrozma spotting the gateway to Universe 5 and sensing Solgaleo there, he knew he couldn't pass it up. He flew right for it, only for Zekrom to follow him.
Necrozma didn't look back. He simply focused on getting to Universe 5. However, he wouldn't be able to make it that far as the Legendary Pokemon blocked his path with a mighty Thunderbolt that streaked across the sky like a bolt of lightning. It struck Necrozma, hitting him with full force.
The Prism Pokemon cried out in pain, being shocked by the powerful electricity. With how much Light Energy he had inside him, Zekrom knew his attack would leave a grand impact. While the Deep Black Pokemon flew up at the Prism Pokemon, Necrozma wasn't going to take this lying down.
He fired multiple beams of light, blasting them right at the dragon. They all missed, but Zekrom dodged them, avoiding every single one. As the beams crashed against the ground, they caused explosions, damaging the land.
Zekrom tried to hit Necrozma with a Dark Pulse, hoping to knock him out of the sky. The Prism Pokemon managed to avoid this, flying right past it. In response, Necrozma would mess with gravity itself, altering the gravity around them. Zekrom was affected by this, finding it difficult to move. He could feel his body being pressed down by a powerful force, preventing him from moving freely.
Zekrom growled, feeling the immense gravity push down on him and the area. The ground was cracking because of this pressure, the surrounding area feeling the effects as well. And yet, Zekrom was managing to push through the Gravity, the thunderstorms above crashing against the gravitational field.
With all the electricity being gathered, it allowed Zekrom to create a massive electrical storm. The thunderstorms would clash against the Gravity, cancelling it out as the pressure was removed. Once he broke the field, Zekrom threw himself at Dawn Wings Necrozma, using Fusion Bolt. Necrozma turned around to see Zekrom approaching while he tried entering the gateway once more, his guard being down for a split-second.
Zekrom closed in on Necrozma, unleashing the powerful Fusion Bolt that he unleashed back in Manehattan. He attacked Necrozma, slamming right into him and causing a massive explosion.
When the smoke cleared, it revealed a very staggered and bewildered Necrozma. Even though his body absorbed light and became stronger, that back attack from Zekrom proved to be potent. But Zekrom wasn't without his damage either. Necrozma's attacks were nothing to scoff at since he had absorbed so much energy. Necrozma was able to get back up, still having more to offer.
"Still more?" Zekrom said. "I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised. He's absorbed so much, it's hard to tell just how strong he's really become. If I don't figure something out soon, there's no telling what he'll do!"
Zekrom had to try something else. A different approach. Brute force wasn't going to do the trick here since Necrozma could match and very well surpass it. He needed to stop him in a different way. As Zekrom was preparing to try a new approach, a scorching hot beam hit his back, dealing serious damage. "Argh! What?!"
He turned around to see what hit him, only to get another shot of that same attack. It was none other than Daybreaker, who was now flying up at the Deep Black Pokemon with an expression of glee. She managed to push back the Link Union, being able to move once more. At least, for the most part. The Link Union was still potent, trying to breach through.
"You've done quite enough, Zekrom." Daybreaker said, keeping the beam up as she would intensify it, the flames growing in size to envelop Zekrom entirely. The electricity crackled, being consumed by the flames. Zekrom roared, his body being burnt with the force of a raging volcano.
He cried out in agony, being engulfed in the heatwave of fire. Daybreaker did not relent, keeping the counter spell up while also burning Zekrom with these raging flames.
Necrozma was free to pass through, wasting no time. He headed straight for the gateway while Zekrom could do nothing but suffer within the powerful flames. The heat would reach unbearable levels, now resembling that of a burning star They were just too powerful. Zekrom couldn't move at all.
These flames weren't just hot, but they were also restraining, keeping him in place. He struggled to move, hoping to escape this torment. But with how much energy he had used up already, he was running out of energy. His wings burned as well, the electricity fizzing out as it was eaten away by the flame.
"You're done." Daybreaker smirked, seeing Zekrom could barely even move anymore. He was now weakened, the fire diminishing his strength. "There's nothing you can do against me now, Zekrom. Give it up. Accept your fate and go back to your homeworld. Very soon, you and your Universe's light will enter Necrozma."
Speaking of Necroza, he could be seen trying to barge through the gateway, but of course, it was still being protected and this time it was by the Link Union. However, he wouldn't let even the Link Union slow him down.
Universe 5.
And this was seen in Universe 5. In the distance, they saw the visage of Dawn Wings Necrozma trying to break through the barrier. They could see his image, his claws reaching out for the planet as his body was slowly getting sucked into the gateway.
"Necrozma!" The people of Alola performing the Link Union all gasped, seeing the Prism Pokemon trying to break through. But they weren't going to let him enter their world. Even with the Link Union, Necrozma was managing to push through.
"That can't be! Shouldn't it trap him in time?!" Sophocles couldn't understand how Necroza was getting past the Link Union.
"It should! Unless he's somehow transcending time itself?!" Wicke pondered.
"What do we do?! If he breaks though, we may never get the Link Union fully done!" An Alolan asked. All the others were greatly worried, especially since the magic they were given was very much temporary. Commotion came across the area, discussing Dawn Wings Necrozma's appearance
Princess Fluttershy thought for a moment before looking at Twilight, deciding on something. "Twilight take my position. Be the centre of the Link Union for the time being." She told her, stepping away from her spot.
"W-Wait! What are you doing?" The Princess of Friendship asked, watching as Fluttershy left her position.
"I still have all my subjects here to look after. We need greater magic that push him back, so I'm going to get more." Princess Fluttershy flew away, aiming to get assistance from her own subjects. "I'll be right back!"
Twilight decided to do it since no one else could. She would step forward, standing in the middle of the Link Union.
She wasn't fully knowledgeble about she had to do, but she knew she had to focus. She kept the magic flowing through her body, letting it build up inside her. Even though she didn't know what she was doing, she wanted to give it her all. As she kept focusing, she felt something happening. It was like a spark igniting within her body, a burning sensation growing.
Her body was starting to feel hot, almost as if she were on fire. And yet, the flames were not consuming her. Instead, they were surrounding her, engulfing her as she began glowing in a white light. The flames were coming from her horn, making it shine brightly. Her eyes widened, wondering what was going on.
That's when she figured it out. Princess Fluttershy was dealing with Daybreaker's Counterspell this entire time and now Twilight felt it. "I-Is this what she was feeling the whole time?! This heat...! I-It's so intense! My body feels like it's about to melt! But..."
Twilight clenched her teeth, feeling the immense energy running through her veins. "But if this is what Princess Fluttershy was holding back, then I can't let her down! If I don't stop this, we might not get another chance!" The Princess of Friendship's resolve was set, her eyes glowing with determination. Now she would be the one trying to push the Counter Spell back.
Twilight closed her eyes, taking a deep breath as she continued pouring her magic into the barrier, the heat still burning inside her. Her body was shaking, but she tried her best to keep her composure. She kept breathing in and out, doing her best to control herself. "I can do this! I can do this!"
Necrozma roared with great aggression, his brute force managing to slowly break apart the gateway. At this rate, he might succeed in passing through the gateway.
He could already see the sun, the source of all the light here. He wanted it, needed it. His eyes locked onto Solgaleo, seeing his form in the distance. He reached out for the beast, his claws growing longer as he wanted nothing more than to grab a hold of him.
As Daybreaker kept it up, she noticed something. Zekrom's cries of pain were coming to a halt all of a sudden. No longer was he roaring or even showing signs of it being effective.
"What? What's this?" Daybreaker raised a brow, wondering why there was silence. "Have you given up, Zekrom? You're just going to accept your fate after all this? And here I thought you'd be tougher than that."
Daybreaker was met with a deafening roar that made her cover her ears. The Deep Black Pokemon had a new surge of power, breaking free from the flames.
"WHAT?!" The Solar Empress couldn't believe her eyes, having been caught off guard. The flames surrounding them all disappeared, as Zekrom now unleashed a newfound strength. She could sense the aura he was giving off, which was much greater than before. "You broke through my flames?!"
"I was once a part of Kyurem... the Original Dragon, before he separated. The heat you struck me with may be tremendous..." Zekrom slowly turned his head to Daybreaker. "But I can endure it. And with the electricity that runs through me... I can counteract it with enough time."
The ground around them shook, electricity surging through the air. The area was filled with a blinding light, which came from the sky itself. The clouds were crackling, lightning flashing. He managed to push Daybreaker back, his body moving once more as he took flight. Once he ascended, Zekrom went straight for Necrozma, focusing on pulling him away.
Zekrom grabbed onto him from behind and surprised Necrozma. He roared, feeling Zekrom grab him tightly. "If I can't beat you with brute force...I'll at least try and diminish other parts of you as much as I can!" Zekrom was going for a paralysis of titanic proportions. While holding onto Zekrom, he would start to shock him in the most powerful way imaginable. He poured all his energy into this attack, hoping that it would be enough to at least keep Necrozma from crossing over into Universe 5.
A gigantic storm of lightning surrounded them both, crackling and pulsating with the ferocity of a thousand thunderstorms. The light from this attack was so bright, it nearly blinded everyone looking up at it. Zekrom unleashed an unbelievable s burst of electrical power, striking Necrozma with all his might. The Prism Pokemon roared as he was hit by this attack, the electricity coursing through his body.
"Luna's already working hard to overcome all of this for a safer future with all of us...so I won't let her down and fall behind!" Zekrom spoke with a booming voice while continuing the attack. "I know for a fact she'll be here by my side again...where we'll both win!"
Another Dimension.
Luna found herself in an unbearable darkness that was suffocating her very soul. The Princess of the Night could barely breathe, feeling like something was squeezing the life out of her. This pressure was immense, so much that she couldn't even move or open her eyes. Her body felt cold as well, as if she were submerged in the deepest part of the ocean.
She didn't understand where she was, but it was clear she had been captured by someone. She was alone, in this deep dark space with nothing but emptiness around her. She tried to reach out with her magic, only to find that she was unable to access it. Something was blocking her from using it, leaving her trapped in this void.
Not just that, but this void also had the rage of all the Nightmare Creatures that were defeated, the anger attacking her from all sides. Their screams and cries echoed throughout the abyss, causing her ears to ring loudly. Darkrai and Nightmare Moon felt it too. "Gaaaaagh!"
This agony was unbearable, so much so that Luna screamed out in pain. Her voice reverberated within the darkness, as if it were mocking her very existence. It was as if she were in a prison of sorts, being tortured by the voices around her. But she had to endure it. She needed to push through.
After some time, she opened her eyes, seeing that she was inside a pitch-black void, with no way out. She felt like she was in a cage, imprisoned by these creatures.
"Yes, yes! This is brilliant!" Oculus Gloom cacled while looking down on them. Even though she couldn't see in the abyss, she could feel their suffering. "Payback will be sweet! Just stay right there for me and enjoy it!" The Nightmarish Blob sneered at them both.
It's so cold..." Luna felt chilly from all of this. The rage and abyss were fierce but cold. Her body trembled, wanting to get out of here. "I must be in some sort of dream realm...or perhaps...a nightmare..."
"I've never felt this before..." Even for Nightmare Moon, she was feeling something she had never felt in her entire life. She felt powerless, vulnerable, and weak. For once, she was powerless before the nightmares. Darkrai was the only one who seemed to have some resistance, but even he was struggling.
"Ah...What a wonderful feeling this is for me." Oculus Gloom's single eye would squint with glee. Now, fall into definitive despair for all of eternity, surrounded by endless Nightmares that will never rest!" at them, watching their suffering. "You can't do anything! There's no one that can save you now! An absolutely perfect way to avene the Veiled Mistress!" She let out another sinister laugh, enjoying this moment immensely.
"No...!" Luna muttered under her breath, trying to fight the pain. "I refuse! I refuse to give up! There has to be something I can do!" She tried to use her magic, but nothing came to mind. She couldn't even access her magic due to whatever was holding her back.
"Why do you still resist?!" Oculus Gloom became angry, her voice booming through the abyss. "Just give up already! You're stuck in my dimension! There's no way you can escape! You'll be trapped here forever, in a prison of eternal suffering!"
"She wishes..." Darkrai groaned. "Luna. Listen. Even for me, this is a struggle. I can't use Dark Void on them whatsoever since they're still immune as always. But my Thunderbolt just isn't bright enough...!"
"Neither is my magic..." Luna grunted. "We just don't have the light powerful enough to defeat them. But there has to be another way...There just has to be! Becau-" Luna's pupils dilated as a heavy blow was dealt to her body by the abyss and the nightmares. "AAAAAGH!"
"Luna!" Darkrai and Nightmare Moon both shouted in unison.
The Princess of the Night collapsed onto the ground, unable to move. She struggled to get back up, the agony becoming too much to bear. As she laid on the floor, she could feel the rage and hatred surrounding her. It was as if she was being attacked by a swarm of demons, their claws digging into her both. Her eyes filled with tears, as the pain intensified.
"My sister...My sister is in critical condition because of all of them. I promised myself I'd be strong enough to ensure that would never happen again. That I would become powerful enough to truly protect those that I love."She said to herself while forcing herself to get back up. "Harm me as much as you want...Knock me down as much as I want. For my sister's sake, I won't let you have even a smidge of catharsis. We will be returning home to a peaceful tomorrow after this!"
"Kh...Such resilience." Oculus hissed at her. "But, you're all talk right now! All you have is words!"
"She's right. These Evolved Nightmares are above my own league, unfortunately. The magic origin is the same but their new state can ignore any influence could have on them." Nightmare Moon commented. "As far as it stands, they are a completely new breed. It's as if they are bestowing their own nightmares upon us with all this rage."
"...Luna's eyes moved around, trying to think of something. Anything. After some time, she thought of something. Something rather wild but also could be plausible, she believes. "I didn't try this before when we first battled the Nightmare Creatures not too long ago. But...I suppose we can try it. At the end of the day, they are made up of Dream Magic. So, if we cannot defeat them with light...then we defeat them via consumption."
"Consumption?" Darkrai repeated. "What do you mean by that?" He asked, confused by what Luna meant.
"It may sound crazy, but it's worth a shot." Luna spoke up, her body trembling as she managed to hold out one of her Poke Balls. "Appear! Musharna!"
"Musharna!" Musharna had arrived, coming out of the ball and landing in front of her Trainer.
"And what can one more Pokemon do?" Oculus scoffed at this.
"Musharna. I know I tend to keep you from eating the dreams of others since you're always so curious. But...if there was ever a time for you to eat as much as you want...you're free to do so. Eat to your heart's content!" Luna said to her beloved Musharna.
The Drowsing Pokemon was amazed by what she was hearing. Her eyes that were usually closed opened up with glee. She gets to eat as much as she wants? With Luna not stopping her whatsoever? A dream come true.
"Mu?!" Musharna gasped happily, looking at her Trainer. "Musha?"
"Yes! All of them!" Luna replied.
Musharna became ecstatic, happy that she was being given permission to feast upon her favourite food. She faced the Nightmares, more than ready to chow down on them.
"Wait! Consume them!? You can't be serious! That can't be done, can it?!" Oculus Gloom found that outlandish, but she was soon about to witness how much of a reality it could be.
Musharna ignored the blob of nightmares, opening up her mouth wide before consuming the abyss in one fell swoop. The other Nightmares cried out in anguish, feeling themselves being eaten. Musharana went wild, devouring many of them with nothing held back. The Nightmare Creatures couldn't believe their eyes as their essence would be consumed one by one. Sometimes in droves. All that anger, rage, vengeance, was merely seen as a meal by this Musharna.
She kept chowing down, showing no signs of being full or stopping. Oculus Gloom watched in horror as her fellow Nightmare Creaturs were being eaten by this Pokemon.
"What?! What's going on?!" Oculus Gloom could not believe what she was seeing. "You can't be doing this! This isn't possible! Stop her!"
Some Nightmare Creatures would try fighting back. Musharna was still vulnerable after all. The Nightmare Creatures were absolutely shocked by what they were witnessing to the point where they actually hesitated a bit to attack, but went through with it regardless.
However, this was a golden chance for Luna and the others. Now that the Nightmare Creatures had something they feared, their strength had dropped, making their attacks weaker. As soon as they went to attack Musharna, Darkrai intercepted them with Dark Pulse.
"You got your strength from your burning desire and hatred for us...But now that Musharna has you all terrified, you have become weak! Luna, now's our chance!" Darkrai yelled at her.
"R-Right!" Luna responded with a nod. "Darkrai, use Dark Pulse go!"
"Hm!" Darkrai put his claws together, summoning several spheres of dark energy around himself. He then launched those orbs of darkness at the remaining Nightmare Creatures, attacking them with his signature move. The Dark Pulse attack struck the nightmares head on, dealing damage to them.
"Hrrgh!" Oculus Gloom growled, watching her comrades being taken out so easily. "No! This can't be happening!"
"Musharna!" Luna shouted. "Keep going!"
Musharna nodded, continuing to gobble up the nightmares. The Drowsing Pokemon consumed more and more of the Nightmares until eventually, there weren't any left. She had eaten so many leaving very little but emptiness behind. While there was still a lot of them left, fairly soon, they could all be gone if something wasn't done.
"Not for a second time...I won't allow you to ruin everything again!" Oculus Gloom would descend, her tendrils showing as she charged down into the abyss to launch an attack. Nightmare Moon took flight, approaching Oculus Gloom as the two would clash in the air, bashing their heads against each other.
"Different universe or not, you are all still a part of me! While the Evolved Nightmare Creatures are different from the original, I don't see you being any different, making you weak even still!" Nightmare Moon growled, trying to push her back.
"Silence! You will all pay for this! The Abyss will still torture your bodies, leaving you in horrible states! You won't have the strength left to do anything afterwards!" Oculus angrily shouted.
"I hate to admit it but that's true. We've taken a lot of damage, Luna. Musharna is still healthy but if something goes wrong, we'll be back to square one. Or worse." Darkrai said before blasting a Nightmare Creature away.
"Hmph. Then all we have to do is fully heal ourselves." Luna said with so much confidence. And that was because she knew of a way to do it. With another Poke Ball out, she threw it up, knowing the Pokemon who could pull it off. "Appear! Cresselia!"
"Cressselia! The Lunar Pokemon appeared, flying in front of Luna with ease.
"Apologies, Cresselia. There is just one thing I need you to do for me. I need you to use Lunar Dance." Luna requested. "If you do, all of us will be healed and will get our strength back in no time."
"Cresss!" Cresselia nodded in agreement. She faced the group before beginning to use her Lunar Dance, healing them all with the lunar energy that she collected. Her body glowed brightly, generating a powerful aura. The mystical light enveloped them all, enveloping them in its warmth. As the energy coursed through their bodies, the pain started fading away. It was replaced by a sense of relief, as if they had just been given new life.
As the wounds on Luna's body began to heal, every bit of her strength being restored. The same went for Darkrai and Nightmare Moon as well. Of course, this meant that Cresselia would automatically faint, but it was worth it.
"Cresselia..." Cresselia was glad she could help out Luna and the others, giving them a second chance.
"Thank you, Cresselia."
Nightmare Moon roared, keeping her opponent at bay as Oculus Gloom was now getting weaker. "Hrgh...!" The single eye of Oculus Gloom was glaring at them all, anger surging through her. "You can't do this to us! We will not let you win again! We are destined to win!"
"It's not going to be destiny if you continue failing at it." Luna said to the Nightmarish Blob. "You're all the same no matter what universe you come from. Those that threaten our peace and the lives we've come to cherish will be defeated with maximum efficiency! Believe me, I made the mistake of tampering with that peace before."
"Nonsense"! All of you! Quit dawdling and finish this! Merge as one! Gather all of your anger and hatred into a Great Nightmare never before seen!" Oculus Gloom ordered, going for the be-all end-all attack to finish this once and for all.
However, the Nightmare Creatures didn't do it. Instead, they were petrified by Musharna's mere presence. They cowered in fear, afraid of what might happen if they tried to fuse together.
For the first time, the Nightmare Creatures knew fear and had their own Nightmare. And that nightmare was Musharna. "T-This can't be...They're afraid?!" Oculus Gloom couldn't believe it. In fact, there was a part of her that was also starting to feel fear.
"I wonder..." Darkrai had something he wanted to test out. Now that the Nightmare Creatures had someone to fear and even nightmares of his own, he wondered if his Dark Void would work. If he could trap them in their own nightmares, it could help tremendously. With a dark orb ready, he fired it at Oculus Gloom, trapping her and many others inside as the orb would split into dozens of itself.
"W-What is this?! What are you doing?!" Oculus Gloom was surprised, finding herself in a pitch-black void. The darkness surrounded her, preventing her from escaping. She looked around frantically, searching for a way out. She was trapped within her own nightmare, unable to escape. Her body was starting to feel some fatigue.
"But I should be immune! I can't be affected by such a thing!"
Darkrai grinned evilly, knowing full well that his attack would work on these new Nightmare Creatures. "I'm just giving you what you've been giving us this entire time. Payback." Darkrai used his power to create a large cage that locked her in place, keeping her from escaping. "Now, Luna! Finish it!"
Luna was already on it. She ascended higher and higher into the air, her horn glowing with a beautiful light that would glint. "Wait for me...everyone!" Luna said as her eyes started glowing. And from it, she unleashed a powerful Moonlight Spell that would strike down all the Nightmare Creatures in one fell swoop. A bright light erupted from her horn, illuminating the area around them.
As the moon's rays shone upon the Nightmare Creatures, they all became weakened. The creatures cried out in anguish, trying to escape, but their efforts were futile. The light of the moon was too strong, destroying them completely. Their bodies dissolved into nothingness, leaving only a few traces of their existence behind.
Oculus Gloom hissed as the dimension was breaking apart. She let out a haunting cry of rage and defeat, knowing that there was nothing she could do. There was no coming back from this. Not after this.
"This can't be...Our Nightmare Utopia! No, no, NOOO!" Her cry echoed throughout the abyss before she exploded, vanishing into thin air. That was the end of Oculus Gloom and truly the end of all Nightmare Creatures.
"Hah..." Luna took a deep breath, feeling relieved that this was over. The Nightmare Creatures were gone. They had been defeated. It was finally over. It felt like she had finally overcame all things Nightmares, making peace with herself "We did it! We won!" Luna shouted joyfully while hugging both Darkrai and Musharna tightly. She couldn't believe they actually managed to win.
Nightmare Moon slowly descended, landing next to the group. She smiled softly, glad to see everyone safe and sound. "It's good to be free."
"Mhm" Luna said as they were all returning to reality. "But it isn't over yet. There's still Necrozma and Daybreaker."
It wasn't over just yet. The main threat had yet to be stopped. But now that they were free from the dimension, they could jump back into action and end this once and for all.
It wasn't over just yet. The main threat had yet to be stopped. But now that they were free from the dimension, they could jump back into action and help stop the threat that was causing so much chaos.
"Wait for me! Zekrom!"
Speaking of Zekrom, he was still at it, not letting go for a second. The electricity here was unbelievably potent. The greatest ever seen. And Necrozma couldn't do anything about it right now. Not just that, but all this electricity once again messed with the machines but more than ever. All the gateway technology was going haywire, with the portal itself starting to crackle with unstable energy.
Because of this, multiple gateways were opening up all over the place to other Universes while also disappearing and reappearing due to the instability of the machines.
"I can't get close?!" Even Daybreakerwas struggling to get close to them at all. "Such power! But...Necrozma won't let this be where it ends! Necrozma!"
Necrozma heard Daybreaker's cry and knew what he was fighting for. His complete self. He would not let Zekrom stop him, even if he was taking the most amount of lightning anyone has ever received. But before he could do anything, it happened. The Link Union enveloped him some more.
At Universe 5, Princess Fluttershy got the help of her subjects. Across her own Equestria, every single pony chimed in with their magic, adding to the power of the Link Union.
It grew larger and stronger, strong enough to transcend even greater distance. This was the power of many from two different Universes and different locations coming together to make this possible. Their emotions ran strong, believing in their victory as Necrozma felt himself stuck in time at last.
"This is everything we have! Our faith in tomorrow's future!" Princess Fluttershy said with an echoing voice as the apex of the Link Union's spell was on full display. And just like that, the Link Union finished off with great flair, eclipsing the entirety of Canterlot from both Universes.
Zekrom saw it happen, his eyes glowing white as a smile appeared on his face. The light could be seen from outer space, glinting on the continent that it came from as all went silent. In the middle of the air, Necrozma was completely frozen in time, trapped in a timeless prison. He had no way to move and was stuck in place, his head poking out of the gateway which would slowly close.
The same applied to the invading forces of the Solar Empire. They too were stuck in a timelock, unable to move or do anything about this situation. It was seemingly over. Everyone cheered at this stunning victory.
"We did it!" Mallow got on her knees as the magic was leaving on her body. "That was amazing...I feel like I could fall asleep right now. All that magic."
"I'm just glad it worked..." Kiawe said, watching Necrozma. "Now...it looks like we're all free from the Solar Empire's influence!"
"Yeah! We did it! We actually did it!" Sophocles said, amazed by this. "It's over! It's finally over!"
"Hah...Hardest work yet." Faba laid on his back, exhausted. "Nothing in the Aether Foundation will top this."
"My aching back!" Pinkie Pie felt the aftermath of it all as she sat down. "I'll be feeling that one for a few days."
"That was truly incredible..." Twilight Sparkle said with a smile. "All of you are amazing."
"It's only natural." Rarity smiled as her hooves were trembling from all that magic. "As long as we work together, there's nothing we can't accomplish. It's what we live by. Granted...I wish they end with some pain a lot of the time. But that's rather recent."
"Well, we stopped the main guy they wanna power up." Rainbow Dash sighed. "And I guess the entire Empire too. Guess that means the alliance is done for now that the one running it is out of the picture."
"Can we go home now...?" Lana grumbled, lying flat on her face along with her sisters. "I want to go home and rest now."
"Don't worry. I think we've earned it." Olivia chuckled as she looked at everyone. She could see the Pokemon resting peacefully as well as the other Alolans "We need to rest now...for tomorrow."
"Mhm. That was an experience I don't ever want to have again." Acerola sighed as she stood back up, stretching a bit.
"Well done, everyone." Princess Fluttershy teleported here with the amount of magic she had left after that powerful spell. "That was the outcome I hoped for. To keep them stuck in time was the best decision I made. It was a high risk, high reward, but I knew I could count on you all."
"Don't mention it." Kukui chuckled, rubbing his head. "But now it's over...we can all relax now, huh?"
"I can barely move though...My legs feel like noodles." One Alolan groaned. All of them felt the same. Not many of them could move at the moment and needed a bit more time to get themselves readjusted.
"I suppose so. We should all take a break. You've more than earned it. However, we still need to restore your region and..." Princess Fluttershy saw something from the corner of her eye, causing her to turn around to face the source of it. Her eyes widened, seeing what had happened.
In the blink of an eye, she was struck. Right in her centre. A beam struck a critical blow to her, appearing from what appeared to be a gateway that had formed. A new one that was on ground level this time.
"Princess Fluttershy!" They all cried out in shock, watching this happen. Princess Fluttershy's pupils shrank as she collapsed onto the floor, her crown falling off. Twilight turned her head to see this new gateway as that beam was all too familiar. The one who shot the beam would walk out of the gateway, revealing herself.
"You...!" Twilight's voice burned with rage at the one responsible. Yet again, she harms someone innocent with no remorse.
Sunrise Sparkle.
"The Link Union spell is quite powerful but the Empress has her own tricks up her sleeve." Sunrise Sparkle said with such pride. "She managed to keep some of us active, unfortunately for all of you. But luckily, I'm the only one who got through. And that was good enough." She looked down at the fallen princess. "Too bad! Looks like you're back where you started!"
As Sunrise Sparkle laughed while many surrounded the downed Princess, it was revealed that victory was short-lived. It was not a full victory. Not when the Solar Empire was still active. The Link Union may have stopped many, but it did not stop them all. The battle for the Universe's Survival was not yet over.
In fact, it was now reaching a boiling point.
As the journey continues.
