For Tomorrow's Light
Alola.
Necrozma had fainted. After a powerful Z-Move from Pikachu along with Palka freeing everyone he absorbed, he was completely overwhelmed by it all.
He hit the ground hard as Daybreaker and Gardevoir started falling, their fusion ending from the attack. Necrozma's dazzling form would vanish, all the light leaving his body as he returned to his original form. He was no longer at his full power.
"Gh...It isn't over yet!" Daybreaker bellowed, surprisingly still active. She managed to recover before her body could hit the ground.
"She took that?!" Rainbow Dash couldn't believe her eyes.
"Activate the Supernova!" Daybreaker exclaimed.
"W-We can't! The Supernova still isn't activating and we can't access any gateways!" A scientist replied through her headset.
"WHAT?!" Daybreaker shouted.
And the reason for this was simple. The Rift Factories in her universe had been sabotaged. All of them. And the ones responsible were Applejack, the Wonderbolts and all the other alternate Celestia's. They were able to locate the Rift Factories and destroyed them with their resources.
On top of that, it was Shooting Star who was messing up the Supernova. He was pouring his Destiny Magic in it, overriding the machine. His body was protected this whole time for one reason.
Ultra Beasts. Buzzswole, Pheromosa and even a Xuritree had kept all soldiers away from him. The Buzzwole grabbed some soldiers, juggling them around as if they were toys. The two Kartana from Kartana's world were very much present as well, ruining all weapons, technology and armour in the process. All of this was happening inside while most of the battle happened outside.
Philomena found herself being restrained by Keldeo's water, unable to power through him. Assisted by a Nihilego, Philomena was held down by large rocks from the Ultra Beast.
With these factories being destroyed and the interference from within the Solar Sword, Daybreaker was unable to activate the Supernova or open up any gateways. This meant that she was now vulnerable to anything else that may occur. Daybreaker was now stuck here with no means of escaping.
"It's over." Celestia announced, addressing Daybreaker and her Empire. Her horn lit up, ready to cast one final spell.
Daybreaker gasped, realizing that she had nowhere to run or hide. There was nothing left for her to do, as all her options had been used up. If there was anything left, it wouldn't be enough to defeat the group in front of her. She growled, trying to think of something but came up with nothing. The spell from Celestia was unleashed, a beautiful white light that would eclipse Daybreaker's entire vision.
She and all her forces shielded their eyes, screaming out as everything became blinding. The last thing she saw before she would be taken was Necrozma looking up at her. Then, everything went bright, so bright that she couldn't even tell if she was still conscious.
"Your Majesty! Dayastra yelled, only to be blasted to the ground by Luminova. She tumbled, sliding across the dirt. Luminva descended, looking down on Dayastra. She was running low on magic, unable to keep this up. "T-This can't be!"
"It be. I'd say we're about done here." Luminova said, eclipsing Dayasta with her own light. The fused pony hissed at the light, trying to fly off, but it was no use. Just like Daybreaker, she would be engulfed as well, already feeling all those ponies within starting to leave her body.
Daybreaker slowly opened her eyes, finding herself in a white space. Completely blank. No one else around. She found that her armour had been removed, no regalia whatsoever. She took deep breaths, realizing that she was now free. The light Celestia fired at her did not destroy her body like she thought it would. Instead, it was just enough to separate her from Necrozma and her entire Empire, trapping her in this state.
She looked around the vast, empty whiteness, not knowing where she was.
"What is this...?"
"Where it all ends." Celestia spoke, her form materializing in this white space. She was smiling, her appearance more soft than before.
"No..." Daybreaker stepped back, unable to process what was happening. She tried using magic but was unable to conjure even the slightest amount. She grunted, realizing that she was completely powerless. "Not like this...! I can't lose here!"
"Daybreaeker." Celestia went up to her, suddenly stopping. "Listen. I know why you turned into Daybreaker, and what happened to you. You lost your sister...and I can only imagine what that's like."
"Kh...." Daybreaker glared at her, refusing to speak any more about it.
"If only you didn't let yourself be consumed by such hatred and rage...However. That does not excuse all that you have done. We may share the same face, but we are different. As different as night and day. We will always be two sides of the same coin, but we aren't meant to be enemies. It does not need to be that way, Daybreaker."
"That's easy for you to say...You don't understand the pain I felt after losing Luna! You never knew how hard it was for me...!"
"I do." Celestia replied calmly.
"What...?" Daybreaker was surprised by this answer, not expecting it.
"The thought of losing my own Luna...or anyone else I love. It is terrifying. But...We cannot allow ourselves to become consumed by fear and anger. Because if we do, we would be no better than the enemy we are fighting against. I once believed that destroying them would make me happy, but then I realized that it wouldn't bring back the people I cared about. And I could've lost something far more precious. A part of myself."
Celestia held her hand to her chest, feeling her heart beat rapidly.
"I know that you're afraid of losing other loved ones and being alone. I know how that feels, believe me. But you must let go of your fears and look to the future. Even if you lose some things, there are always going to be new things for you to gain. If you try to hold onto everything you care about, you'll end up losing them anyway. The more you hold on, the harder it gets. So, you have to be willing to let go. It's okay to be sad sometimes. It's okay to cry. It's okay to feel angry and frustrated. But you have to remember that you can't let those emotions control you. Otherwise, you'll just end up hurting yourself and the people around you."
Daybreak clenched her teeth tightly, rage building up. "I can't lose like this. Not like this. After everything I..." She paused for a moment. "You..."
"I will have to punish you, Daybreaker. I'll decide on it rather soon. I sympathize with you, but endangering my subjects and everyone else was unacceptable. Regardless, I want you to know that I am sorry for what happened to you. And I hope that one day, you will be able to find peace within yourself. And that maybe...one day, you can find your way home as well."
"...." Daybreaker didn't reply to that, staying silent. She broke into tears. Tears of absolute defeat and sadness. It was all too much. "You...The way you speak is of my weak self."
"Except that part of you was never weak. It's never weak to be who you are." Celestia shook her head.
"...You'd better keep your Luna safe then." Daybreaker looked away, trying to hide her face.
"I promise." Celestia smiled. "I'll keep everyone safe."
As the light in this space was about to fade away, Celestia would hug Daybreaker as a way of comforting her, despite knowing that she won't be so welcoming. And yet...Daybreaker returned the embrace, accepting it. Perhaps they were two sides of the same coin after all.
The Solar Sword had been broken. It was now seen on the ground, damaged and beyond repair. All the technology that was inside it was useless and unusable. It was no longer the advanced ship it once was, now merely a shell of its former glory. With all the systems that once powered the Solar Sword being deactivated and the crew within it gone, it was nothing more than scrap metal.
"Hah..." An exhausted Ash sat down, glad it was over. "Man, that was rough..." He said, looking at the others.
"Indeed..." A weakened Twilight Sparkle agreed with him, still trying to process everything that happened. She was exhausted from fusing with Celestia but was glad that they managed to bring peace to both worlds. "Everyone! You did it!" She cried out with joy, hugging Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Rarity. All of them rejoiced as cheers from every single individual here went off.
All the Legendaries let out triumphant roars or cries while everyone else cheered on for the victory. It was truly a monumental occasion for all life, especially after stopping Daybreaker and Necrozma's plans. The humans and Pokemon all celebrated, happy to be alive and together again. Everyone was so thankful for what they accomplished.
Of course, there was the big issue of the lack of a Sun, Moon or stars in the universe at all. "Okay...How are gonna fix this?" Rainbow Dash wondered, walking up to Ash. "This is a super big deal.
"Heh. Nothing Dialga and Palkia can't handle." Ash grinned, looking at his Legendary Friends. "Right?"
Dialga and Palkia nodded in agreement, looking up at the black sky. They prepared themselves to do just that. Everything had to be put back to where it was found. All the locations from Johto, the Sun, the Moon, the Star and even others from various universes. It was going to be a lot of work but these two Legendary Pokemon could pull it off with their power.
Before anything could happen, a familiar pink sparkle would float towards them all, catching everyone's attention. It was a beautiful, bright and shiny diamond, which made it clear who it belonged to.
All the Alolans cheered, some hugging each other out of exhaustion and happiness. Their cheering could be heard from other universes since the gateways were still open. Dialga and Palkia ascended, floating above everyone else with their bodies glowing.
With that, Dialga and Palkia unleashed their power, shooting a beam of energy at the darkened sky. Beams of Time and Space ascended rapidly into space, creating a beautiful colouration of blue and pink. Time was being reversed while Space was being rewritten, restoring the Universe back to how it originally looked before all this chaos.
They had to focus on the task at hand, reversing all the damage that was done to the Universe, starting with the locations from Johto that were displaced earlier. As soon as the beams connected with the sky, all those cities and towns that floated in the air were being teleported to the planet's surface, back where they belonged.
And because they were in different timelines, it would take a while for them to adjust to everything. Entire stars began reappearing in their original locations, shining brightly in the sky once more. The Moon and the Sun would also come back, returning everything to normal. The Moon slowly descended towards the planet, falling back into its original location.
Then, all the stars would light up the sky, shining beautifully like never before. This sight was so breathtakingly beautiful that many couldn't help but gaze in awe and wonder at what they were witnessing. The Sun would also shine, its golden radiance washing over the Earth.
Pikachu jumped onto Ash's shoulder, seeing it all return in the form of a beautiful spectacle. "Wow..." He smiled, enjoying the view. They all did. they took in the breathtaking view, seeing the restoration of the world they love. Zygarde participated, using his power to restore the damage done to the environment, such as forests or mountains, restoring them back to their former glory.
Mewtwo smiled, feeling satisfied with their efforts. Despite the many struggles along the way, they succeeded in restoring peace to the Universe. It was all worth it, knowing that they were able to stop Daybreaker's plans and free Necrozma. Newtwo flew over to him, surprising Mewtwo. "Y-You're okay!"
"It was a few minutes ago." She smiled, floating towards him.
"...Well, I'm glad you are all right." Mewtwo said, crossing his arms while using Psychic to bring the Mewtwonite back to her. "Here's your stone back. I briefly transformed it into a Mewtwonite X."
"Hm." Newtwo nudged him. "You mean our Mewtwonite?"
As Dialga and Palkia continued to reverse time, the rest of the group watched as the universe slowly returned back to normal, with all the planets, stars, moons, suns, and galaxies being restored and reconnected. This included the other universes as well, which meant that everything was going back to the way it once was.
Things were normal once more. Ash looked around, watching the events unfold before him. His heart filled with joy as he saw the beauty of the world being restored. Everyone was happy again. He felt relieved that everything was finally over and that they had been able to save the day. He had never felt so proud of himself in his entire life.
Canterlot. Canterlot Castle.
At the same time, finally reaching Canterlot was Cozy Glow, who ran from Scootaloo, Diamond Tiara and Sweetie Belle. Going from the mall all the way to here took a long time, but she made it. The castle was empty due to all forces going straight to Alola and being present there still, leaving it rather vulnerable.
"If I can just get one Travel Sphere to Daybreaker! I can make a huge change!" Cozy Glow maniacally said, spotting one of the Travel Spheres.
"Don't!" Scootaloo cried out, trying to reach her hoof further. But they all couldn't reach her in time. Cozy Glow was about to grab the Travel Sphere that sat there, going all in.
"I don't think so." Suddenly, stopping her was an outline of magic.
"W-What?!" The pegasus couldn't understand it. She was being held up by someone's magic. Then again, she was a child so the magic of anyone older than her would do the trick. But it was more than just someone older than her. It was Empress Twilight, finally showing up.
"E-Empress Twilight!"The girls all cried out, their bodies being held up as well by the magic.
"Hm-hm." She chuckled. "Sorry girls. But I'm taking this with me instead. Not you."
"Hey! I was here first!" Cozy Glow ranted.
"Hah...I'm a bit late to the party. The plan was to take Necrozma for ourselves but...with Nightmare Rarity and Second Wind done for, that plan is out of the window. So instead, I believe I'll take the other options. You all..." She addressed the girls. "I'll be out of your manes. As much as it pains me to say this...I can't stand up to any of you. You're far too dangerous for me."
"Pfft! That's chicken talk!" Cozy Glow scoffed as Empress Twilight turned her upside down. "Wagh!" By doing so, she dropped all the orbs that contained Fairy Matter as they rolled all over the place.
"I have other things I want to focus on. I no longer have an empire. I'm not an Empress anymore, honestly. But, that won't stop me from going on." A gateway would open behind her, the Empress utilizing the Travel Sphere.
"W-What are you planning to do!?"
"Hmph. Nothing that concerns you. And I mean it this time." She smirked, carrying Cozy Glow with her as she walked through the gateway.
"Wait! My Fairy Matter orbs! Daybreaker!" Cozy Glow screeched, calling for Daybreaker but it was pointless. She had been defeated by another candidate who was a part of the alliance.
Or in this case, a former alliance. The girls were dropped, the Empress's grip ending. They hit the floor, but not too hard. They watched as Cozy Golw screeched and flailed around in pure anger, going through the gateway afterwards. With the gateway closing, they were gone.
The three of them were rather stunned. They never expected that from the Empress. She seemed rather laid-back compared to last time when she was just raging and insane. And while she did give off a menacing presence, she wasn't too riled up anymore. "W-What just happened?"
"Ah!" Diamond Tiara scurried to the Faiy Matter orbs, trying to see which one of them was Silver Spoon's. Any of them could be Silver Spoon's orb but the important part was that they were all safe, no longer in Cozy Glow's grasp. And the one to help them was the Empress.
Now, they just had to reverse these effects, but they would be waiting a while for that to happen.
Alola. Hau'Oli City. Day.
Ash and his friends found themselves back in the centre of Hau'oli City, surrounded by people. They all talked with each other while celebrating, throwing a party for their victory.
People were dancing in the streets, singing and cheering happily. It was truly a sight to behold. The celebration spread out to every corner of the city, reaching far beyond what anyone could imagine. Everyone was in high spirits, enjoying themselves more than they ever had before.
"Honestly. I don't think we'll ever face a threat that massive ever again." Rarity commented, watching the party unfold before her. She watched everyone enjoy themselves, knowing that they deserved this break after such a hard-fought battle.
"Yeah..." Pinkie Pie couldn't argue there. She can't ever imagine anything topping this level of danger. "But at least it's over!"
Ash smiled, happy that everything ended up okay. He couldn't help but feel proud of himself and the others for managing to pull through despite all the odds stacked against them. He turned towards Twilight, who was sitting down beside him. "Hey, Twilight. What was that thing you and Luna did? I saw someone that looked a lot like you in the distance."
"Ah, that. Well, Princess Luna and I simply used the Fusion Spell. Came in handy."
"You pulled off that spell? Nice." Ash smiled.
"So...What now?" Rainbow Dash asked, wondering where they go from here. The alliance is largely done for. Daybreaker and Empress Twilight were the ones running most of it and with both of their empires defeated, the biggest threats were now finished. Aside from a few.
"Well, all we really have to worry about now is just Team Plasma and well...Prisma. But who knows what Team Plasma is doing right now? We haven't seen them in ages. And as for Prisma...We'll cross that bridge when we get there." Twilight. "Right now, I don't want to think of any of them. I just wanna relax. I've been through enough today."
"True that." Ash laughed. All of them laughed, putting their heads on the table.
Celestia watched over all of them from afar, back in her original form and no longer giving off that radiant glow. She smiled at this sight, seeing them enjoying themselves. "I'm glad it's over." She said to herself. "They deserve a break after all they've been through."
"You will have to be the one that makes it a reality." Cobalion walked up to her. Flying over to Celestia was Reshiram, who was now free along with other Legendary Pokemon. Zekrom, Groudon and Kyogre could be seen nearby or in the distance as well. They were all recovering from being used by Necrozma.
"That's right. It is my duty to ensure that no harm comes to Equestria, even if it means sacrificing myself for its sake. This may seem like it will be the hardest challenge we've ever faced. But I'm centuries old enough to know that there will always be a bigger fish out there."
"And what will you do then?" Cobalion questioned. "You also have to deal with Necrozma and his illness. Unless you've already found a solution to that?
"Right now...Rest." Celestia fell on her back, her hooves spread wide as she basked under the glorious Golden Sun. That was all she wanted to do right now. It was all she wanted and all she needed. All everyone needed. Reshiram would curl up, doing the same as he rested near his trainer, taking in the wonderful atmosphere. They can all rest easy and wait for tomorrow to come. It was finally all over.
As the journey continues.
