My Little Pokémon: Grander World
A Night Well Deserved
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEquestria. Canterlot. Nightfall.
The Grand Galloping Gala. Time passed until nightfall came. The night of the Gala had come at last. Celestia had already started the preparations and had begun welcoming her guests to the event. Many were dressed in fine attire, looking their absolute best for the princesses. It consisted of regular citizens and the nobility and the rich as well as popular figures from certain places.
The event was going to take place outside this time compared to how it usually happens inside, a beautiful starry night sky overhead. There were many tables filled with delicious foods and drinks from across Equestria, Unova, and Sinnoh. All the dishes were a sight to behold.
"My, it is wonderful to see you all again. I am delighted to have you here, my old friends." Celestia was already greeting a lot of guests, giving them a warm smile. It was more than just a warm smile though. After stopping the Solar Empire, this smile had a ton of weight on it that made Celestia feel like a little kid.
"I see you're doing better now. I was worried about you when I heard the news.." Rota's Queen Ilene replied, happy to be here.
"Hm-hm. I'm tougher than I look. Both in body and spirit." Celestia proudly patted her chest, feeling proud. "But thank you. The same goes for everyone else that was worried about me. Now, come along and enjoy yourselves tonight. I know I will."
Droves upon droves of people, ponies and Pokemon were arriving, all dressed up for the night. A whole bunch of guards were present just to make sure the security was tight. However, it still did not compare to the number of guards currently in the hospital but it would have to do.
In just a few minutes, the whole place was packed from the outside and even from the inside. Everyone was busy eating, drinking and having a grand time.
And soon enough, the rest of our heroes had shown up, each of them dressed in their finest attire, whatever suits them. Already, the two that went straight to the food were Ash and Pinkie, their Pokemon having the same appetite as them as they were busy eating.
And speaking of their Pokemon after Pikachu got a good fill, he decided to converse with the other Pokemon. All the Pokemon of his friends were currently out and active, doing whatever they found enjoyable here.
"Pikachu-pi!" Pikachu waved at the other Pokemon, seeing all the usual faces of the day-to-day life here in Canterlot, all of them looking happy and jubilant. They had their own table too. "Pika!
"Ninetales!" Ninetales greeted back, a toothy smile on his face. "Nine~."
"Cinccino!" Cinccino was already running around with Rapidash, the two playing around with a bunch of other small Pokemon such as Raboot, Munchlax, and Bidoof. A plethora of Pikachu and Mew's friends were here, each from different trainers far and wide. All of them knew each other by this point.
Espeon already figured out what was about to happen. Whenever her friends gather around during a party, they always run off and do something while their trainers are occupied.
And with the Gala this crowded and a lot of Pokemon here to have fun with, it would be an amazing opportunity for her to spend some time with her friends and get to know them more. She looked back at her trainer who was busy talking with Luna right now, not even looking at her. This was her chance. "Ciinnnnn-Chiiii-nnno!"
As always, they were off, ready to roam around the castle. The Royal Guards already knew not to interfere with what the Pokemon were doing in general, not that they could do anything with so many of them here anyway.
Immediately, they found themselves in the halls of Canterlot Castle. The doors were wide open for them since this was to be expected as Pikachu led the charge through the halls. The other Pokemon were all following suit.
"Pika! Pi! Pi!" He called out to the others. His voice echoed down the hallway, the Pokemon happily following him all the way. It was just their way of showing the humans that they had other things to do besides sitting around. "Piiikachuuuu...!"
All the other Pokemon quickly caught up and the rest of the day proceeded like this. A nice group adventure with them going all around the place. They played all sorts of games, some involving magic, some not as Espeon's Psychic and Telekinesis skills were showcased, the girls' Pokemon using them on the group, playing various tricks on the little fellas. They went to the gardens, having their fill of food here. And they all had a lot of fun overall.
But as always, usually they leave behind some sort of mess when interacting with the objects that the guards have to clean up afterwards and tonight is no different. However, anticipating this was Celestia's Gardevoir, Passion. The second Mienshao opened up a door, there she stood.
"Gardevoir." Passion spoke, a grin forming on her face as she started Mienshao.
"Mien!" Mienshao replied jittering back. Passion has gotten pretty used to the shenanigans of the Pokemon over the time she had been here. But she doesn't get mad. If anything, she's actually amused by what they do and sees it as a way of bonding with them all. However, that does not mean she won't take control sometimes.
With a devious grin, Passion generated a rope of Psychic Energy by using Psychic, immediately catching all of the Pokemon with it and pulling them over to her, wrapping the Psychic rope around their bodies and dragging them along the floor like worms. She was holding the Psychic rope like a fishing pole, reeling in the bunch like it was no big deal. They all were helpless against it.
"Gar! Gardevoir~!" Passion giggled. They didn't want this, not at all. She was taking advantage of the situation. And now that she was in charge, having them all restrained so that they don't break anything else. These past 4 years of knowing them has prepared for her their shenanigans.
The rope suddenly released, unraveling from all of them and dispersing. However, before any of them could run away, a huge cloud of Fairy Aura was spread all over them as they felt their feet being covered by grass. Then, they all saw the doors of the hallways slowly shutting close and locking as the windows had curtains pulled down over them, sealing them off. It was pitch black but with the grass underneath them, their natural power began to act up as they were surrounded by a green light. They weren't in a hallway anymore.
Passion had warped them into another dimension of her creation and brought the castle garden with them, putting the whole world here. And this stunned Pikachu and the others. Up until now, Passion has never been able to do this but after she and Celestia had an awakening, she could perform new feats.
The dimension in question was a beautiful landscape with lush green fields, a clear blue lake and the sky covered by clouds with the sun high up. They had an inkling of an idea where they were, being able to tell the resemblance of the place, a location that they were quite familiar with. This was Canterlot Castle's gardens, specifically its courtyard with all the greenery surrounding it.
But the sun's light in the sky wasn't as radiant as it was in their world, this one was much softer and warmer on the skin. It felt nice and comforting, a perfect environment to just take a nice nap or bask in the grass. Not to mention, it was devoid of almost everything else but the castle, garden, lake, and the small forest.
The group of Pokemon had a good look around, their eyes scanning the surroundings, making sure it was just a mere illusion. The Mew that was a part of them, in particular, couldn't stop staring at this illusion, seeing something he missed. His mouth hung open and the look in his eyes became somewhat distant.
"Mew...!" He cried out. It was the first time in many years that he got a good look at this garden. For this place brought him nothing but pain for being so alone but now seeing it again, a happy feeling filled the area. The past has become nothing but a memory to him.
As Passion stared at him, she smiled gently, nodding her head.
"Garde-vior. Gardevoir." She patted the top of Mew's head, glad she could do this for him. Her powers had grown to a point where she could recapture things that have been lost to time. And the same goes for everyone else before they found their Trainers.
But they could do more than just see them. They could live them for real! Passion's power allowed her to bring all the Pokemon together at the garden. Passion spread her Psychic to make everything feel more real and made the world of the courtyard larger and bigger, allowing all the Pokemon to be in there.
A nice grassy field, a clear lake full of water, some small Pokemon here and there, it was the perfect place to play some games, relax and enjoy life. All the Pokemon here immediately went to work, starting to explore the new area, having fun with all the small details that Passion added to make the whole thing better. It was just that easy for her to do and in the blink of an eye.
She let out a hearty chuckle seeing the joyous look in the Pokemon's eyes as they explored the area. They would stay here for a good while, not coming out for hours. The girls were also able to notice it, seeing the same exact place with the same exact Pokemon there as always.
Back at the Gala, entering the event was a new face, his first time showing up at the Gala. Stepping forward, bursting the doors open in a grandiose fashion and making sure everyone knew he was here was none other than Hilbert.
"Hm?" Rainbow Dash, who had her mouth full, almost choked on her food once she saw who passed through. Mr Loud, Proud and Boastful himself. "MRGH!"
"Evening, Equestria! The Number One Trainer has arrived! Stylishly this time!" He announced as right behind him was Hilda, who would gently wave while looking embarrassed.
"E-Evening." Hilda softly greeted them, being taken aback by her friend's entrance. A good handful of people didn't mind the arrival as it was common for Trainers to boast about themselves here. "Sorry for him, as you guys know, he gets...excited for events like these..."
"My first Gala? It'll be just like my 10th Birthday party, where I went all-out." Hilbert strolled in, hands in his pockets and he had an aura of pride. He made it seem like this Gala wasn't a big deal at all, acting too cool for it.
"Why'd you have to invite him, Princess...?" Rainbow Dash lowered her head while Celestia snickered at the sight. Hilbert really did arrive just a few minutes ago. This was planned ahead of time but Rainbow Dash wished Hilda or someone else would have informed her about Hilbert showing up tonight. Because now that he's here, either two things will happen. One, he'll talk about being Number One, claiming to be the best of the best, or two, something chaotic. Either one would get on everyone's nerves and already some of them were eyeing Hilbert with a nasty glance, especially Rainbow Dash.
"Makes it all the more fun." But to Celestia, it was the fun factor that mattered.
"If he bothers any of you tonight, I'll make sure to yell at him on the way home." Hilda said while walking by some of Ponyville's residents.
"So, so. I heard you guys dealt with the Solar Empire. That's all threats done with, right? Well, all threats are a part of that alliance anyway." Hilbert went up to Ash, Celestia and the others.
"We believe that this is it. The last of that alliance had been dealt with just two days ago." Celestia replied. "Really, all that's left is Team Plasma and Prisma, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Outside of that, isn't there something else you want to tell us, Hilbert?"
"Oh, yeah, yeah." Hilbert grinned, rubbing his hands together. "Now that you've gotten the alliance out of the way, how about this? Why don't we start exploring?"
"Exploring?" Fluttershy repeated.
"Yeah. Explore all those alternate universes. You helped free a bunch of them and gave them back their light. So I say, we start visiting them to see what they have."
"Nice!" Ash was all for that, being on the same page as Hilbert. They are counterparts after all. "Something like that was totally on my mind!"
"I guess we are allowed to do that. Nothing's stopping us anymore. We don't have to worry about Daybeaker or anyone else like that, I don't think." Twilight saw a good point in all of this before facing Princess Celestia. "You agreed to this, Princess?"
"I did. Because why not? It's also a good way to bond with our alternate selves once more. And besides, if I recall, just yesterday, Red and the others already started, didn't they?"
"Wait! Red and the others are in other worlds?!" Ash looked at Celestia.
"As we speak." Hilbert chimed in, having just returned from visiting another universe today. "Just got back here. You know, there's even versions of our parents! Or, uh, versions that share the same names. The usual. I'm more interested in those worlds that have ponies and Pokemon living with each other. A lot like this one but way different."
"This is the Main Universe were everything branches off. I'm still shocked that they have Pokemon. They didn't have them before..." Twilight pondered for a moment. "Could it be that wishing for Jirachi to merge our two worlds as one affected every other world?"
"Most likely." Celestia nodded. "Princess Fluttershy's Universe has Infinity Energy, even though it never existed there before. History has been slighty rewritten for them all due to one wish. Now, everywhere we know has Pokemon."
"That's so cool..." Fluttershy gasped in surprise while Pinkie Pie's eyes lit up.
"It's strange though..." Hilda pondered. "In our own universe, there aren't any ponies around. Nothing changed and it's all the same. Ethan said the same thing too and so did Lucas when they went to other worlds. Why do you think it's only worlds just like yours that changed?" She looked at the ponies.
"Hmmm..." Celestia hummed while her head tilted.
"Is there anything we did differently?" Twilight questioned before a lightbulb went off in her head. "Actually, I think I know!"
"You do?!" Both Hilbert and Ash shouted.
"Well, it's just a very, very strong hunch, but if I had to guess, when Ash made the wish, Jirachi only changed the worlds he knew nothing about. So, he placed Pokemon in worlds that didn't have any. The Rift already brought us together just for fun but Jirachi did it out of gratitude. Just a theory though. And even I don't think it's that specific, really." Twilight explained. "So, it's probably something else and it's just a coincidence, most likely."
"Whatever the reason is, you know what we gotta do next, right?" Hilbert grinned.
"You're free to do so." Celestia nodded in approval. "Just be careful, alright? You, Ash, Red and the others all have Prisma's soul within you. There is still a universe out there that wants to see Prisma gone so you are still in danger."
"We'll be fine, Celestia. I've got you and everyone watching my back." Ash replied.
"And that goes double for me!" Hilbert stated. "So I say, tomorrow, we start exploring these other dimensions and go wild. Maybe we'll find some Pokemon we've never seen before!"
"So, what are Red and the others even doing right now?" Rainbow Dash asked, curious as to what they were getting up to in these other worlds. They'll have to wait and see when they start exploring. For now, they were going to enjoy this night with everything it had to offer.
With the Gala underway, Hilbert's presence caused a whole mess of things to happen that had him be in the spotlight. Naturally, with Hilbert around, it's just going to be a wild time, his braggadocious self having a huge role in what happened today.
In one part of Canterlot Castle, many guards who had suffered from Ultra Necrozma's light were busy trying to cure their eyes by bathing in the soothing waters of the castle hot springs. The water here was able to cleanse and rejuvenate those who bathed in it. The Water-Type Pokemon nearby chimed in, doing their best to soothe their eyes.
Naturally, some dancing came along as people were enjoying their night together, sharing good times with friends. Hilbert took Hilda out onto the dance floor to have a ball, much to his trainer's embarrassment and it brought joy to those around to see them dance.
Although Hilbert was a terrible dancer.
"Do I have to dance...?" His high energy was soon shut down once he realized what he had to do. Not even a dance of his own, but an elegant and sophisticated one. The dances here had a rhythm and beat to it, being too posh for his taste. "Isn't there something I could do instead...?"
"It's alright, you can get the hang of it. I can just teach you how to dance along the way. Unless Mr Number One's too nervous and shy?" Hilda smirked. Hilbert didn't want to back down, knowing his pride was at risk.
"Ghhh!" He clenched his hand, his teeth baring as veins were appearing.
Twilight watched this, scrunching her face before looking at Ash. She would like a dance with him but the build would not allow for it. Ash was a Human and Twilight was a pony. If only she had the Shift Stone with her.
"I wish I could dance with you but...that won't work." Twilight sighed. "N-Not like that though! As friends of course!"
"What are you talking about? All we have to do is this!" Ash would instantly grab Twilight, removing her from the ground as he lifted her into the air as if she were a Pokemon.
"Waagh! Ash!" Twilight bellowed as Ash started moving around while carrying her. Her eyes spun rapidly at his movements. Ash certainly saw dancing as something that didn't need to involve feet touching the ground as he spun Twilight around. His arms were holding her, being careful not to let go while also making sure not to get hit by someone else while spinning. Twilight screamed while being spun, unable to properly focus.
Meanwhile, Raleigh wasn't really looking for anyone to dance with. He felt himself far too young to do any fancy dances as he walked across the dance hall. But while doing so, he accidentally bumped into Hilda, almost falling over. "Ow..!"
"Oh sorry about that." Hilda turned to face him as Raleigh squinted before widening his eyes, stunned for a moment. In every young boy's life, there is that one moment. One girl who looks absolutely beautiful and stunning while you're in love. The moment a girl steals your heart. Raleigh just experienced it with Hilda right now, the brown hair and red dress was his new fixation. "Are you alright?"
"...Yes."
"Looking for someone to dance with?" Hilda lowered herself to speak with him. That's when Hilbert hit the jackpot.
"Heh. Kid, tag out!" Hilbert patted Hilda on the back, opting to toss her to Raleigh so he has to dance with her. "Hahaha! Good luck! You'll need it!"
"H-Hey!" Hilda yelped as the young prince, Raleigh took her hand, leading her away onto the dance floor with Hilbert walking to the refreshments table and stuffing his mouth with food. "Hilbert, you blockhead!"
"Umm..." Raleigh scrunched his face before raising his arm. "I-I'm Raleigh. I mean! Prince Raleigh of the Azoth Kingdom!" He quickly became formal, his face red like Hilda's dress.
"Ah, you're a prince? Well, then, pleasure to meet you. I'll make sure to dance with the utmost respect, your highness." She giggled a little. And that sent Raleigh flying, making him nervous again. It was quite entertaining to watch for some, such as Twilight. She was still spinning in Ash's arms.
In the distance, while sitting with other nobility, Kimia locked onto the scene that she could not ignore. She saw her little brother dancing with another girl and he was looking like the happiest boy in the world. To her, that's all that mattered. But she also wanted to make sure he was being treated right. Like an android, her eyes were fully locked on them.
"G-Gardevoir..." Kimia's Gardevoir already knows how she gets when she sees new individuals around her little brother. She'll always look out for him.
"You don't have to worry, Gardevoir. I think he'll be just fine this time." Kimia smiled, looking away and trusting in Hilda, seeing that she was a good person to be around. But her sisterly senses kicked in once more once she realized a few other details and factors. "But what if he embarrasses himself...?! His first crush will leave him in tears!" Kimia got up and rushed after the two, ready to defend her little brother, only for Gardevoir to hold her back.
It was a wonderful night for all after everything that's happened and they wished for this moment to last forever. And the next gala, and the gala after that and so on. A wonderful night in a wonderful new and Grander World.
As the journey continues.
