My Little Pokémon: Grander World
A Sparkle of What Once Was
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEquestria. Canterlot. Canterlot Hospital. Day.
Things were easing in for everyone. With Necrozma defeated and all those in that massive alliance no longer having that union anymore, Equestria and other regions could rest peacefully for some time, but they would always be ready for whatever comes next. Right now, they weren't thinking of what big thing comes next. Only their lives and how they live them.
At the Canterlot Hospital, many of the guards found themselves in beds, their eyes covered in light particles, suffering from a newly developed eye infection. At the front desk, Nurse Redheart and her Wigglytuff, as well as the rest of the nurses were all busy with the influx of patients.
"H-How did this happen?" Nurse Redheart asked as she tried to help one of the guards. She had left her usual hospital to show up here.
"I'm afraid that due to looking at Ultra Necrozma for so long, they've developed some kind of eye infection." Princess Luna answered, being there to witness it. "I was lucky to have shielded my eyes with magic for the most part."
"Oooh..." One of the guards groaned, his eyes flashing rapidly as he was seeing bizarre things. Necrozma's light wasn't ordinary light after all. All of them were seeing things.
"Well...I can at least say it will take them 4 weeks to recover from this. I'm surprised none of them went blind." Nurse Redheart said.
"Hmmmrgh..." Luna grumbled. "4 weeks is fine. We can survive without the Royal Guards for a month. But what about the rest of Equestria? I can't be everywhere."
"Wiggly!" Wigglytuff bounced, wanting to help.
"That's true. Wigglytuff can help with the recovery. But we still need somepony else. Perhaps an optometrist."
"Hmmm...we may have to call Doctor Whooves in on this. This is a strange phenomenon."
"We'll also need to quarantine this area. Can't have a bunch of infected guards running around the hospital. And we'll need a containment area." Nurse Redheart suggested. "I have no idea what this kind of light could do if left unchecked. It could be way more that just a nuisance."
"Good idea. I'll let Princess Celestia know about it." Luna said as she used her magic to contact her sister. Her telepathy travelled through the hospital, going straight for the castle which was not too far from here, reaching Celestia. "Sister, we have a bit of a problem."
"Yes, Luna? I was busy checking up on Ash and the others."
"It's the Royal Guards. Many of them were affected by Ultra Necrozma's light. Looking at him for that long had its drawbacks as you can expect. The guards are in need of medical assistance."
"I figured something like this would happen. But not to worry! I have something for this~!"
Canterlot Castle.
Meanwhile, the rest of the group, Ash, Pikachu, Pinkie, and Applejack found themselves in the castle's kitchen, making a collection of food. Coming up soon was the Grand Galloping Gala and they wanted to chime in with some delectable options for everyone.
"You guys must be pretty hungry. And this is the easiest thing I can make for the group. Plus, they're healthy. And you can add anything to them you want!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed!"
"Oh my, Pinkie, you really think that a collection of pancakes would work?" Rarity questioned, not sure of the choice.
"Well, pancakes are pretty popular and easy to eat. They're Mew's favourite food too! He always wakes up at the smell of them cooking!"
"Mew-Mew!" Mew agreed, applauding at the creation of these pancakes. He was already itching to take a bite out of some of them only for Pikachu to hold him back, his tongue out as he did.
"Pika!"
"Mewww! Mew!" Mew exclaimed, getting annoyed by Pikachu's words. Oh, how he wished to consume the right now. He transformed into a Seviper, getting out of Pikachu's grasp and began to slither towards the stack. "Sevi!"
"Figured this would happen. Here you go!" Pinkie Pie already had a ready-made pancake just for Mew, slipping it into his mouth the moment he lunged forward. "Tah-dah!"
"Sevi!" Mew said, happily eating the pancake as he resumed his usual form. "Mew!"
"Alright, all of you. I hope you're making a great amount of these." Entering the room was the head chef of the Canterlot Castle Kitchen. "We'll be having a lot of invitations for this year's Gala, the princess states. We'll be having people from other regions show up for this one and other nobility on top of that. We have a lot of mouths to feed!"
"You got it!" Ash was already going wild, crafting something for the guests to eat. The way Ash builds his food was always chaotic and a blast. "Just watch me!"
Naturally, it looked like a mess was being crafted. A mish-mash of things that usually don't go well with each other were being used for the dish. Some were questionable but in reality, it would be something delicious. Ash has recently gained a knack for making something that looks like a chaotic mess, only for it to actually be wonderfully delicious. It's the way he cooks and his style is definitely different from most people's.
"Well, it's not how I do it, but I won't complain!" The Head Chef stated. "I could use some new ideas, after all."
"Alcrie!" Assisting in the food creation was Celestia's Alcremie who was focusing on a cake. She knows how much Celestia loves cake so all the chefs were coming together to make the best possible cake for their princess. After what she did for them just two days ago, she deserved it.
All the food here was coming together nicely for the Gala which would be due this coming night. And it would be the same night when a special group would be arriving for the event. All the nobility from afar, consisting of Lady Ilene from the Rota Kingdom, Raleigh and Kimia of the Azoth Kingdom, the Royal Family of Pegalysium and more. It would be a packed Gala, the most it's ever been and a grand event was planned for them all.
As this was happening, our other four girls were out in town, making a delivery of goods. Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Twilight and Rarity were all delivering goods from their stores and boutiques for the event. It was the usual routine.
"And with that, the delivery is complete. And the items for the Gala are in tip-top shape!" Rarity said. "Everything looks marvelous! And with the extra security around, nopony is gonna mess with this stuff."
"Yeah. Those Royal Guards are all over the place. Not to mention that light has them all on edge. We got lucky with our eyes, or maybe it hasn't kicked in yet." Rainbow Dash mentioned, being glad that none of them got infected by Necrozma.
"Yeah. That would be a shame if we couldn't attend the Gala." Fluttershy added, holding her own packages close. "I still have to check up on all my Pokemon back home."
"Right. But I have to make sure we're not late. There's still a lot of stuff to do before the big night comes around." Twilight was looking at her schedule, her eyes scanning the pages as she saw what she had left. It wasn't a long list, thankfully. Just a few small errands here and there.
"And speaking of the Gala...here comes the next batch."
The next batch of goods arrived at the delivery address, being a huge crate full of food, drinks and snacks. The food was being brought from Sinnoh and Unova, being delivered straight to the Gala.
"Oooh...they're so cute! I wish I could take a bite out of all of them~" Rarity's eyes gleamed at the sight of all the treats, wanting to eat every single one of them. But her focus had to remain on the delivery, the box being lifted by her magic and taken into the storage area where all the food was kept.
"You have no idea what kind of treats those are, Rarity." Rainbow Dash snickered. "It's all a surprise! But it's good, I've already eaten some of them. Ash's mom has quite a knack for making these."
"Mm, I bet."
The strange and newly discovered palace kept moving through the air, the bottom part was a part of the land below the water, being used to allow the Palace to move freely across the sea. It would travel a certain distance away, flying high enough not to be easily noticed.
The palace itself was huge, being taller than the mountains and bigger than any settlement or town in the country. From afar, this palace could be spotted easily.
"Wow..." A young child whispered, the little filly was out on a trip with her father. The two of them were riding the skies in a small balloon. "What is that place, daddy?"
The filly's father, a middle aged Unicorn, was the one piloting the hot air balloon, the father and daughter having gone out on a small trip for some family bonding. They were enjoying the fresh air and the sight of the skies. Their little family trip took them past a few cities and a few towns and the two stopped by at a cafe that was floating.
When the young child looked off to the side, the filly could see an incredible sight. A large castle that was soaring the heavens, going from one corner of the land to another.
"Hmm...that is odd." The Unicorn's eyes widened a little, not believing his own eyes. But he also recognized the Cutie Mark trail it was leaving behind the further it went. "It looks a lot like Princess Twilight's Cutie Mark actually..." He noted, his voice trailing off.
"Oooh!" The young filly gasped, the girl's eyes sparkling with joy and awe. "Princess Twilight lives in a palace?" She asked, curious. "Maybe that's her new home!"
"Maybe."
But it was not. Instead, this palace was of a different origin. One which would become known sooner or later.
Ponyville. PokePark.
PokePark.
A wondrous, magical park that contains all the Pokemon, creatures and species in the entire world. This amazing location, owned by a Twilight Sparkle which was gifted to her by a friend, has become the home to hundreds upon thousands of different Pokemon from various regions.
Within this massive amusement park, the various creatures who live within can experience the joys of friendship, laughter and more. A paradise that was formed and maintained through the efforts of countless beings.
It is here where many adventures occur and where people of all sorts find a sense of comfort, happiness and enjoyment.
Today, this day in particular, the park is as lively as ever. There are so many visitors who have come and so many attractions that they could visit. There were also the shows, the activities, the many games, the food courts, and so much more.
This amusement park was the greatest, most exciting place in the world, and it had all the wonderful things. The Ferris wheel, the roller coaster, the carousel, the train, and much more. There were many, many rides for both ponies and Pokemon to enjoy, and there were always a lot of attractions going on.
As two children and a Vanillite were running around, they came across something strange. It was minuscule, hard to find from a first glance, and it was barely noticeable, but it was definitely there. The ice cream creature's eyes widened. "Vani?"
The girl's eyes widened as she followed Vanillite's line of sight, staring off into the distance, and saw the thing. The other kid, a boy, turned his head and spotted the object. It was a small, round ball of light that was floating through the air. The three of them stood there, frozen.
"Awww, that's not a Pokemon!" The girl's voice came out. "What a bummer. I really wanted to see one. What is that thing anyway? Some sort of toy or something?"
"Maybe it's used to evolve a Pokemon or something." The boy commented. "You know, like an evolutionary stone."
"No, it can't be an evolutionary stone." The girl, her eyes narrowed as she took a closer look at the thing.
"Yeah, it's not. I've seen stones, and those things are pretty much like giant versions of these little ones." She said. The little girl stared at the object for a bit, squinting. She wasn't sure what it was.
"Well, it doesn't matter, does it? If you can't catch it, then you don't have to worry about it."
Vanillite shook her head. "Vanillite."
"I'm sure whatever it is, it won't do anything to us, right? I mean, there's a reason why they say don't touch things in museums, or you'll break it or something."
The girl giggled. "Yeah, and there's no reason why we should be worried, right?"
"Right." The boy nodded.
As the girl looked up at the sky, she saw something else that caught her attention.
"Wait, look over there!"
"Huh?" Both kids and Vanillite looked over, following the girl's line of sight.
The thing, whatever it was, was still hovering through the air, but now, a bright, golden, shining light was glowing around it. It was moving so fast that it almost appeared like a shooting star. It moved faster and faster, getting brighter and brighter, and then suddenly, it zoomed away.
"Whoooaa." All three of them were speechless. "That was so beautiful!" The little girl was jumping around excitedly.
"What do you think it was?"
"I don't know, but it looked like it was going somewhere important. Maybe there was a meteor shower or something and that's what caused it. Either way, it was neat! I bet we can find more of it in this park! Right?"
The boy turned to his friends and they all agreed that this was just an awesome little sight and nothing else. With that, the kids ran off, continuing their adventure.
As for the floating object, it continued to fly across the heavens, leaving PokePark and entering the rest of the world, and after a few moments, it came to a stop. It slowed down, and it eventually began to hover over the ground, hovering near a cliffside, where a lake was located. It flew low, and eventually landed, gently touching the surface of the lake.
After landing, the sphere floated there, and its light dimmed. A large cloud of smoke emanated from the object, and when the cloud cleared, the object had transformed. In place of the orb, was now a giant castle.
The entire area around the castle began to shake violently, the ground itself cracking and breaking apart, splitting apart as if something was pushing against it. The entire thing was like an earthquake, but with much more intensity. The entire area was shaking violently.
Eventually, the ground began to rise, and the castle started floating upwards, flying off into the distance. There was now a second building that had suddenly appeared.
The floating palace soared high and then descended towards a nearby village. It flew overhead, hovering over the houses. Several Pokemon, ponies, and other residents looked out of their windows, and out their doors. Some of them were frightened, others were confused. But as for where it was heading, it focused on the direction of the palace, going straight for it.
This flying castle, with its grand, royal, futuristic and regal design was headed for a palace in the skies. One that belonged to the nation known as Unilight. The palace had already arrived there and was now approaching its destination. The entire palace was a magnificent piece of architecture, a marvel of beauty. And it was filled with the most powerful magical artifacts.
The flying palace, which was now flying directly towards the strange Palace, began to make contact with it. Its landing gears touched the surface of the building, and a loud sound rang out. A truly magical sound. The noise echoed through the entire sky.
The two buildings began to merge, the castle becoming a part of the palace, the two structures joining together. This caused the ground beneath the two structures to crumble and crack, breaking apart, and the earth began to collapse underneath them. A large cloud of dust and smoke was rising into the sky, obscuring everything in sight.
As the two buildings merged together, the palace gained an updated look while mostly staying the same, becoming slightly bigger. The entire structure seemed to become much larger, more regal, and more imposing, though the exterior had barely changed. The windows became even more majestic, the walls were decorated with new designs, and the entire palace took on a different shape, the new additions making it seem almost like a gigantic, futuristic castle.
And inside the castle, something was forming. Or rather, someone was forming. A tiny sparkle of some kind manifested the second this merge happened, hovering inside the dazzling interiors.
"Finally." The sparkle spoke, having a voice that had an echo to it. "I thought it would never happen. Her plan to bring back this palace took too long for me. Unilight Palace...What a beauty."
The sparkle flew across the inside of the castle, getting a good view of this place, feeling a rush of familiarity hit it. "Well, it looks like everything's the same as she left it. That's a good sign. Now all that's left to do is reach her. Or I guess all four of them Not sure I can do it on my own but I'll make something work. It's time to bring back Queen Twilight."
With that declaration, the palace began moving once more, fulfilling some kind of mission that took a while to finally start.
The Sparkle was related to Twilight Luminaria in a way. Here to fulifill what the Alicorn had planned before back in the Lost Universe. The palace would move at light speeds, lighting up for a moment before vanishing.
As the journey continues.
