Unilight Palace

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Equestria. Ponyville. Late Afternoon.

With the Unilight Palace landing near Ponyville, the Pixie created by Fairy Matter known as Sparkle had arrived. She was here to fulfill the wish Twilight Luminaria had, being a loyal servant to her. But upon seeing Twilight in her aged-up form, mistaking her for her Queen, she also saw Ash, who was also aged up and resembled Prisma. Naturally, the reaction went as follows.

"You...!" The Sparkle would pulsate, showing clear signs of rage as her purple glow would deepen and change colours, becoming purely red.

"E-Eh...?" Ash stumbled back a bit, seeing the rage coming off the Pixie.

"You ruined everything!" Sparkle lashed out, flying at Ash and immediately pelting her body against him repeatedly. Her hits were incredibly light and weak, feeling more like a small breeze that pushed Ash back a few steps. Pikachu didn't like this either, letting out a strong warning to try and get her to back off.

"Pika! Pikachu!"

"W-Wait!" Ash tried to calm the Pixie, who was throwing a tantrum. She continued hitting Ash, the boy simply trying to defend himself against her. "What'd I even do?!"

"How can you say you don't know me?! How could you not remember the faces of the ones you went up against! You're the absolute worst! The lowest of the low! Lower than scum itself! You destroyed everything!"

"Hey, hey! Calm down!" Twilight flew over, getting between Ash and the Pixie. "I know what you're thinking and seeing, but he's not Prisma! I can guarantee that."

"Then what is he?!" The Sparkle stopped and hovered. "He looks and acts exactly like him. There is no way he can't be Prisma!"

"His name is Ash and I promise you, he's not Prisma. Just like how I'm not actually Twilight Luminaria. We're just parts of them....Apparently." Twilight quickly explained.

"...Tch." The Sparkle would return to her original color, slowly backing away. "Still, I recognize that face anywhere. The face of the one who destroyed everything I cared about."

"Yeah, well, it's not him, alright?" Twilight stated.

"Then where is he?! Where is the face I so deeply loathe?" The Sparkle's tone became much calmer and composed. She looked at Twilight and Ash with a calm expression, wanting answers.

"Um..." Ash scratched his hair. "Well, there's technically 10 of us around right now. We've all got a part of Prisma in us. And I'm just one of them."

"Kh! Unbelievable!" The Sparkle shouted. "So, that scum Prisma split his soul just like her Majesty as well?! And he had to boast by making it 10 as opposed to 4! That guy...!" She growled before her gaze turned to Ash again.

"But it's fine. We've all already agreed to keep Prisma in check. As long as his soul doesn't influence or take over Ash in any instance, then we're good." Twilight reassured the Pixie, knowing that Prisma wouldn't be able to hurt anyone for a while. Not if she has anything to say about it.

"...Hmmmrgh...!" The Sparkle grumbled, fixating on Ash as she was a bit unsure. However, she was also willing to trust Twilight's judgement. "I still don't trust you one bit. But it's fine! Her Majesty planned to ensure that Prisma never causes destruction ever again! And that palace over there is a major factor."

"So...Twilight Luminaria owns that palace?" Twilight gazed at the Unilight Palace with wonder.

"Indeed. And by extension, it is also your palace since you are her reincarnation. It is an absolute marvel and the pride of Unilight as a whole. And you all are welcome to come and visit if you so wish." The Sparkle continued. "Except for you!"

"Hah!?" Ash leaned back.

"Anyone but you! You are forbidden to enter its grace and excellence! Not that you could anyway. The magic in there is meant to keep you out at all costs and I can easily lock it down." Sparkle snickered. "Why would I allow someone like you in there? Someone like you was the reason why everything went wrong in the first place!"

"Aw man..." Ash lowered his head as many others in the town would approach the castle, allowed to enter except for him.

"If it makes you feel any better...I'll take photos of the place." Twilight said while flying off.

Unilight Palace.

An incredibly majestic and impressive palace that is filled with powerful magic from within its walls. The walls themselves were made up of crystal and they glowed a strong pinkish hue, containing a lot of Fairy Matter inside them. The floors were carpeted and decorated with royal and rich designs of purple and pink, having been constantly kept clean and neat by the magic within.

The decorations inside were astounding and made many people gawk in amazement.

There was also the famous map room where many maps were painted on the floor, which was designed to depict every single location in Unilight that used to exist in that now-lost Universe. These maps were detailed and showed the number of lands within Unilight, showing just how vast it used to be before the destruction of the Lost Universe. Such locations involved a place titled as the Never-Ending Sea and Fantasia-Valley.

Other things within this palace included a grand throne room where Twilight Luminaria would sit during important occasions, and in that room there was an art gallery and a personal library. Within those books contained histories of the world itself.

The palace was actually designed around Twilight herself rather than Celestia or Luna who would usually have these kinds of luxuries in their palaces. The designs within it were made in mind with Twilight's preferences and how she would decorate things in order to make it feel a little more her, rather than having the things that Twilight Luminaria preferred.

Aside from that, there were things within the palace such as a portrait room and many other places. All around this place were the Sparkles, Pixies that looked exactly like the original Sparkle who were actually embodiments of the original Elements of Harmony. Each one of them had different colors of their own as opposed to the same one as the original Sparkle, making them easily distinguishable from the main Sparkle.

All of these Sparkles were a reflection of their master's interests and beliefs, creating a lot of various personalities among them. Sparkles that embodied a love for mystery and mystery books also loved playing pranks and teasing the others, those who enjoyed helping others also enjoyed being helpful to the princess in order to fulfill their desires.

"Ah. I see you've all awakened too." Sparkle flew up to her brothers and sisters, seeing the other Pixies fly around. "Took you long enough. I awakened hours ago."

"Sorry." One of the Pixies apologized with a sheepish laugh.

"But at least we're all awake now so we can do our job properly!" Another Pixie said, having been slacking off for quite a bit. "You think that the Queen's Reincarnation has arrived?"

"Not yet...but she's coming close." Sparkle narrowed her eyes, seeing something out there in the distance. Something that was her ticket to continuing her duties as a servant to the royal family. "My fellow brothers and sisters...let's give the Queen a warm welcome when she arrives. Let's show her how much we missed her."

Sparkle wasted no time in giving Twilight a tour of the palace, showing her around in ways that seemed impossible due to how big it was on the inside. Still, she was able to keep up with it, finding herself going down corridors and exploring every single part of the massive area. Everything felt so nostalgic for her, yet at the same time, new because this wasn't her place of origin.

Not to mention that there was a lot to see here. It felt like Twilight had a lot to go through. Each room seemed like something she'd seen before in another place, and even in a few, she recognized it as a location within Ponyville itself. With the help of Spike, she was able to write down all of this information with a quill in hoof, making sure not to miss anything.

"What about this room?" Twilight asked.

"That was where you kept all your old journals." The Sparkle flew in front of Twilight and gestured to a nearby door that was filled with carvings of quills and books on the sides of it.

"Old journals?" Twilight approached it and opened it up to find a huge collection of old books with writing on them, along with more recent ones she wrote too. Twilight saw all of her old writings and notes here, causing her to become nostalgic.

"This brings back memories, even though I wasn't there." She grabbed one of them, finding notes about something written by her old self. She flipped through all of these pages, finding them rather fascinating. "Why did I even have this?"

"It was a storage place for your old works. You thought it would be fun to collect all of them and put them there for safe keeping." Sparkle commented, watching Twilight's eyes look through it with a smile. "This place was actually used as your office where you would draft ideas for new spells and such. This was one of the most important rooms you would go to in order to fulfill your desires of magic."

"W-Wow..." Twilight was awed, wanting to read more of these journals as they all contained knowledge that would've been lost had she never found them. When reading it further, she discovered all the different forms of magic Twilight Luminaria studied and even managed to create on her own. But most importantly, there was also a journal on Pokemon Training.

"Hm...Looks like she was a rookie trainer too at an early point." Twilight smiled as she skimmed through it, seeing all of the pages filled with notes and drawings. She saw small sketches of the known Pokemon and notes regarding their abilities and moves.

She also saw some symbols drawn down that had nothing to do with Pokemon at all. The writing on them had an extremely small font to them and they were jotted down quickly without much care. Twilight wondered why they were even here but when looking closely, she soon remembered what they were.

"Runes? Ancient Pony runes?" She eyed them closely, taking a few minutes to fully understand what each one said.

It seemed Twilight Luminaria was slacking off at one point. Writing down her interests and other things over the research that she was doing at the time. And it's not like Twilight could be mad at her or anything since she would've done the exact same thing.

But what truly stuck out was how she wrote down the names of every type of magic she invented for herself. The familiar Digital Magic was seen as Twilight would look at all of these options. However, one of them stood out to her as the magic in question wasn't very familiar at all. It was an odd symbol that Twilight would eventually start to recognize, which was written in Pony with a few translations of its own in a language she recognized as the Human tongue.

The word she saw was SpellVerse, and she had never seen nor heard it before. Was this a spell she invented? Just from the name, it was more likely than not. And all Twilight could do was look at it, becoming intrigued by what it could be. And then she would remember that she could actually ask Sparkle about this, not knowing the answer herself.

"Hey, Sparkle?"

"Hm?"

"What's SpellVerse?"

"Oh! That." The Sparkle gave a sharp gaze, hovering over Twilight's shoulder and looking down at the paper. "SpellVerse was something Her Majesty spent a lot of time perfecting during the many years of her life. She grew obsessed with it over the years and dedicated every waking moment to it until it reached its final form."

"Really?" Twilight was curious to hear more.

"Yes. It was a magical feat of immense power that allowed her to perform unrivaled magic in any universe imaginable." Sparkle explained further. "It allowed her to do whatever she desired. She was able to warp reality to her own desires by using it. It gave her access to spells outside of her own world or even existence."

"Wait...for real?! And I can learn this?!" Twilight became excited at the opportunity to learn a spell such as that. It sounded incredibly powerful and one that she felt was worthwhile for her to learn. She looked over it again and Sparkle gazed at her, knowing what she wanted.

"If you want, I can show you where this was all discovered. You've learned plenty already so you should be able to pick it up quite easily." The Sparkle seemed okay with it, and Twilight found it exciting. She got up from the pile of books and papers and flew off with her guide as they returned to exploring the rest of the palace.

This place really did amaze Twilight, seeing so much in such a short time period. Still, it made her wonder just how long this place would be here for if it could teleport. Knowing how powerful and amazing it is, she can see this staying for quite a while. Which will allow her to return with others later on.

"This is it." Sparkle brought Twilight into a dark room filled with dim lights on the walls, illuminating a symbol on the floor that had multiple circles that went in different directions. This symbol had complex writings all over it and a symbol of a star in the middle. It was massive and was written in an ancient language that was much more ancient than Pony itself. "This is where the master found it."

"Here?" Twilight saw the sigil on the ground with Sparkle flying close to it and putting her hands on the edge of it. Her glow intensified as she closed her eyes.

"Indeed." The Sparkle muttered as her entire body began to emit a bright purple glow that filled up the entire room, allowing Twilight to see what this room was like in its full glory. However, upon seeing this room in its full glory, she was rather underwhelmed and not surprised by how it looked at all. It looked more like an old ruined basement rather than a room inside a castle. The roof was crumbling and there was dust everywhere. It was made of rocks that were falling apart and debris was scattered all over the place.

This whole place was in shambles but that didn't mean much when there was a source of magic nearby that was allowing this room to stay intact despite its appearance.

"With the power of the Fairy Matter I've given, I can help you witness the SpellVerse and understand what it truly is." Sparkle opened her eyes as the symbol on the floor lit up brighter than before. Suddenly, images appeared inside the empty spaces within the circles around it. All of them depicted the endless universes that once existed and still exist to this day.

Twilight stared at these images as they flashed across her eyes, the Sparkle controlling them with her own magic in order to give Twilight a proper display. Then she took her eyes off them and started walking, seeing that this was already something that she had witnessed before back during the time of the Dimensional War.

"SpellVerse was based off many things. The user needs to understand how it works and it is more difficult to use than one would think." Sparkle commented while still using her magic. "This is where it was found. And what Her Majesty managed to grasp."

She gestured to a blank wall, the symbol being shown on it, but it was black rather than the color it showed before. The Sparkle cleared her throat as she began speaking once more.

"At first, Her Majesty thought it would be a useful tool for everyone to use and decided to let all her people study it and find a way to replicate its power." Sparkle explained. "But no matter how hard they tried, no one was able to pick it up as easily as her. It took her years to actually perfect the spell and to accomplish everything she ever wanted."

She shut her eyes briefly as her body glowed brighter, making the image change on the wall. That was Twilight Luminaria but back in her prime during her early days. Twilight was seeing her full appearance for the first time, but only as a memory projection.

"However, in the end...This magic proved to have a higher ceiling than even she expected." Sparkle remarked in a solemn voice while still using her magic to control the image. The symbol changed and showed multiple people falling in a blue world filled with strange figures around them as they began disappearing one by one.

Twilight became a bit uncomfortable seeing these images flashing before her eyes. She still couldn't tell if these were real or not but everything felt too real and too much for her. She was confused by it but Sparkle would continue on, raising her voice a bit louder so Twilight could hear her properly.

"This power began to corrupt her mind and with each passing day, Her Majesty went more insane." Sparkle's tone deepened as the images changed again, showing a horrified look on Twilight Luminaria's face as she snapped her gaze up and reached for the sky while summoning a massive army of unknown beings who followed her.

Twilight knew where this was going now that she was hearing about how this magic corrupted her master. Even with someone as powerful as her, the Spellverse proved to be overwhelmingly grandiose.

"But even then, Her Majesty managed to overcome the odds and regain control over herself, however she only did so long enough to right a terrible wrong." She glanced at the images before them that showed Twilight Luminaria doing battle with Prisma, releasing her wrath upon them with great vengeance and furious anger. "After doing so, she used the full force of the SpellVerse against Prisma, resuslting in a truly destructive battle between Unilight and Prisma."

The image on the wall changed again to depict a battle in full bloom. The fighting was intense and numerous, and everything felt so chaotic as Prisma proved to be a one-man-army, only needing himself and his Pokemon.

Twilight's jaw dropped at the sight of it all, never having imagined this at all. This battle felt incredible. And in the heat of it all, she saw a surprise. Something that made her do a double-take and stop the Sparkle from continuing.

"W-Wait! Back up!" Twilight focused on a small portion of the image on the wall, seeing three small silhouettes behind Twilight Luminaria.

"What?"

"Those three there!" Twilight pointed to them with a hoof as the Sparkle glanced at them and stopped for a moment, using her magic to enlarge it so they could see them properly. She gazed at them quietly, just as surprised as Twilight was before turning back to her with a strange look in her eyes.

"...That is..."

"Sci-Twi...Wish...Moonlight!" Twilight Sparkle realized who those three were. It was herself but the three versions of her that she knew of already. "So she already planned this?!"

"She did. In case things did not go as planned, she pre-emptively planned to split herself into four, so that parts of her would exist in another existence without her having to go through the trouble of reincarnation." The Sparkle explained as the image began showing Twilight Luminaria with Wish, Moonlight, Sci-Twi and herself. "It was only when she decided to erase the Universe itself, starting anew."

"Wait...She erased the Lost Universe!? I thought it was destroyed by like Prisma or even the Rift!"

"The Rift assisted Her Majesty. Prisma had already destroyed a large portion of our universe but it was her Majesty who decided that if it was all going to come to an end, she should be the one to do so and guarantee a better outcome in the next existence, which is this one." The Sparkle calmly explained and Twilight became amazed by that, knowing that Twilight Luminaria had a part to play in the existence of her current Universe.

She erased an entire universe all for the sake of ending Prisma's reign.

"That is the power of SpellVerse." The Sparkle waved a hand to return the images back to normal and relinquish Twilight of her shock. "So, what do you think?"

"...I'm amazed." Twilight uttered. "That magic is incredible."

"You'd be interested in learning it? To ensure Prisma never returns, learning that magic will do great wonders, your Majesty. I promise you." The Sparkle said to her.

"Hmm...It's tempting. It's powerful and wonderful to think about. But..." Twilight closed her eyes. "I don't want to use anything against Ash. I just can't."

"Kh!" Sparkle's glowing body dilated, but she would say nothing more as she calmed down a bit. "But what if he does return? You'll need this magic for protection. I recommend learning it now while you have the chance."

"He won't though." Twilight reassured. "And if he does, we'll make sure he never gets that far again. But I don't want to fight Ash ever."

"But-"

"Ash will be fine...and we can train him as well."

"...No!" The Sparkle flew up and turned into her raging red, startling Twilight who backed away a bit as she saw the other glaring at her with pure hatred. "You have to! You just have to! Her Majesty foresaw the potential of Prisma returning so it is a must!"

"Now calm down...Just hear me out. Ash and I promised that it'll never happen. There may be times where he'll be influenced by Prisma and he takes over, but we'd never let Prisma fully return. That's a promise and we always keep our promises. I believe in Ash and he believes in me."

"...Hmmrgh..." The Sparkle returned to her original purple colour. "I see what this is...You have a crush on him, that's why."

"W-Wha...?" Twilight's cheeks became tinted red as she averted her eyes. "N-No! No! T-That's not what it is. I mean, I do but...! It's common respect and a bond that drives it!"

"Mhm. I can't believe one of Her Majesty's reincarnations is in love with a Reincarnation of Prisma." Sparkle sighed. "What a horrible reality."

"It's not like that!" Twilight's face became redder as she creamed at the top of her lungs, her voice echoing across the entire palace for everyone else to hear, with some of them overhearing what she said and gazing at her with confusion, especially Ash who heard her voice from the entrance.

"In any case, I will still count on the other three. Perhaps they can understand."

"Uh, well..." Twilight scratched her face, shifting her eyes to the side. She knew the other three well enough to know where they stand. Twilight Wish wanted to stop Prisma too, but she was on the more peaceful side, opting for a good outcome for everyone. Sci-Twi also had a crush on Ash too so there was that.

And finally, there was Twilight Moonlight who was on the more serious side and wished to see Prisma gone so that no one would suffer from him ever again. She was the one willing to capture all of Ash's counterparts to finish them off.

"D-Dont' tell me they have the same feelings for him?!" The Sparkle gasped.

"Well, just me and Sci-Twi. I'd say you'd have better luck with Moonlight than anything. But besides that, we're not destroying Ash, Red, Ethan or the others. We'll stop Prisma in our own way."

"Hah...I suppose if you're saying it then I should maybe believe that to be a possibility. But I don't like it. I don't like this at all." The Sparkle mumbled. "But if it means you won't allow Prisma to return at all then I suppose I can relax about this. At least for now. But, your Majesty. I recommend staying around the palace for a while. I am also on a mission to find the other Twilights to complete the wish of my Queen. Do you accept that?"

"..." Twilight stayed silent for a moment. But she had her answer coming up.

Outside, Ash sat in disappointment, wanting to see inside the castle so badly. His head was down as Pikachu began patting him on the back to reassure him, telling him not to worry about it. "Pikachu..."

"Yeah." He said dryly and flatly, his head still down. Just then, Ash's Rotomphone began ringing. Seeing that it was Sci-Twi calling him, he answered it. "Hey, Twilight."

"Hey, Ash, I-" Sci-Twi suddenly paused for a moment before speaking. "That voice...Who is this?" Naturally, because Ash had been greatly aged up, his voice was way different from what it used to be. It had become much deeper but still keeping that energetic tone, so when Sci-Twi heard his voice on the other line, she was startled by it.

"It's me! Ash!" He even proved this by showing his face on the screen. Despite the change in age, he kept that signature look on his face and the Lightning Bolt Birthmarks.

"Ash?! But you sound different! And..." She sounded incredibly concerned now. "Where are you?! What happened to you?!"

"Relax! I'm still the same guy! It's just that..." He trailed off as he was trying to find the right words to describe what happened to him and how he'd explain this to Sci-Twi. "I got drenched in some Fountain stuff and somehow I've been turned into an adult! It's not that bad! See?"

Ash tried to make things lighthearted for her but it didn't work as Sci-Twi looked downcast and felt upset at the fact that something happened to him and she couldn't do anything about it, especially after all he's done for her.

"Hm...Well, I was just calling you about the Summer Camp I'm heading too. Camp Everfree. It's due in 2 days. You're still gonna show up to help me out, right?"

"Hm...Yeah!" Ash raised a fist into the air confidently. "I promised I'll show up for it! Can't let you down! Count on that!"

"Really? Thanks! That's so great to hear!" She was overjoyed to hear this as he seemed to be excited about it. "We'll be waiting for you on the big day then!"

"Got it! I'll be there!" With that, the call ended.

"Kaaa~" Pikachu breathed in relief, glad that Sci-Twi was safe and didn't get transformed like Ash. He wanted to ask her what was happening at the camp but didn't have the time to do so. However, they were given a breather as they needed it. He wondered just how long the camp will be but nonetheless, he felt happy knowing that he was able to spend time with Sci-Twi during it.

Not long after, the door behind Ash opened as Twilight walked out. She let out a sigh as she approached Ash with a small smile on her face, obviously not mad at him or anything.

"Well, on the bright side, Sparkle told me that there's a way to turn us back to our original ages. Turns out she's the one who created that Ageing Magic based on a wish she heard."

"Really? Awesome! So, what is it?" He asked as he was wondering what it could be.

"She said something about having to solve something that'll put us back to normal. It'll take us quite a while to actually solve it and turn us back to our younger selves but..." Twilight rubbed her chin with a hoof, thinking about what to do next. "Still, she suggested that we stay in here for a while since there are a lot of things we can do in here. Well...I still have to stick around here."

"Alright." He understood what she was talking about as he thought of it all. It would take some time until they were their right ages again, but they could wait.

As for Ash, he had a Summer Camp to prepare for, mainly to help Sci-Twi out. Of course, there was a good chance he was going as this which would certainly confuse many. But for now, he was going to have to power through it as the journey continues.
