My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Camp Everfree
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe Human World. Camp Everfree. Day.
Summer Camp was here. A few minutes later, Camp Everfree was finally open. The Counsellors would be present to greet all the students of Canterlot High on this hot and sunny summer day.
"Morning! Glad you could all make it to our camp! I trust your bus ride here was a whole lot of fun." One of the Counsellors spoke.
"Mhm! It's great to have you all here at Camp Everfree! Seems like money wasn't a problem for you all to show up here. We promise you this year's going to be extra special." Another one spoke, seeing the eager and curious gazes from the students.
"Is it because of the Pokemon?"
"Yeah. Are we gonna catch our own Pokemon?"
"I want a Pokemon too!"
"We promise you will. You'll have the opportunity to do so. In fact, that's what this place is for. First, we'd like you to meet our Camp Director." The other counsellors stepped aside as another one walked up. A woman with a nice pink skin that looked close to peach approached, her eyes, being green, her hair being dark shade of red, but still appearing bright. She had a flower wreath on her head and ankles, topped off with the camp getup.
Her name was Gloriosa Daisy.
"Hi, everyone! Welcome to Camp Everfree! I'm Gloriosa Daisy, your camp director! Think of me as your friendly camp and nature guide." She introduced herself in a warm, welcoming voice, having a wide smile on her face. "Glad you could all make it, especially on this year. We aim to please, so before we hand out our tent assignments, we'd like to hear from all of you. You're free to do whatever you like here."
"Anything?" The students collectively said, their eyes widening a bit at what Gloriosa said.
"Anything at all. So don't be shy. Explore all you want, discover new things and make memories that'll last you a lifetime!" Gloriosa raised her hands up, gesturing to the camp as a whole. "I know I'll do the same. After all, this will be the first-ever camp with Pokemon and I made extra sure to keep you all safe and secure. I've seen those news reports as well. So just relax and enjoy yourselves here."
"About the Pokemon! Are we gonna get some right away?!" One student leaned forward, her excitement clear to see. "Are we gonna get to catch our own?!"
"Oh yes! About that!" Gloriosa turned to the Counsellors. "Counsellors, if you will."
"Right." They nodded, turning to the students. "As Director Gloriosa said, we have many surprises for you all here. In order to start off the camping experience, you'll each be getting your own Pokemon."
"All of us?" Sunset asked, raising her hand.
"That's correct. So don't worry about that. All you need is to enjoy yourselves and get out there and discover more about these creatures that have come to our world. I know I have. In fact, not to brag, but I actually have some Pokemon of my own." Gloriosa raised her arm up, revealing 5 Poke Balls. That surprised them.
Next to Sci-Twi, who currently has the most Pokemon in this world so far, she had more Pokemon than any other human here. Most either had one or just 3 and 4. 5 was a big deal for this world to say the least. But Sci-Twi was still on top with the most Pokemon thus far.
"Wow!" One of the students gasped, looking at her. "That's so many! How'd you get five?!"
"Ah, that's a story for another time. Now then, let's get you all settled in. After that, I'm sure you're going to want to get to know these cute little fellas. So, go on ahead and settle down into your tents and make yourself feel right at home!" Gloriosa said, prompting the Counsellors to bring the students to their assigned tents. "That's right. Just a few more minutes and we'll have you all ready to go."
In their tents, the students were settling down. They would get to meet the Counsellors that would be helping them around the campsite. The Counsellors, including Gloriosa, would be hanging around the campgrounds for the most part.
But as for Sunset, she made a beeline straight for Red once she spotted him here. Red wasn't exactly wearing any special camp getup. He was just wearing what he usually does. A dark red jacket and black trousers with his trademark hat.
"Red!" She called out, catching his attention as he turned to her. But as she approached, sliding in and getting in front of Red was Adagio who put her hands on her hips and scowled at Sunset.
"Sorry. We're all full up here." Adagio said.
"Hm! Why are you even here to begin with?" Sunset scowled. "More importantly, why's Red here too?!"
"Is it not obvious?" Adagio tugged her shirt. "I'm a Temp. My sisters and I have been hired here to help set up the camp and take care of the students.
"You? A Temp? You're joking, right?" Sunset said with a disbelieving look. "You're like our age!"
"Ah. Remember, I'm a thousand years over you. I just happen to look around your age...young lady." Adagio smirked.
"You sure don't act a thousand..." Sunset puffed her cheeks. "Aren't you all supposed to be searching for the missing sirens? What happened to that?"
"Hm." Adagio's facial expression changed rapidly once that was brought up. "Truth is, we've been searching for months now, going across different regions and even places in this world too. It's just that we haven't gotten anywhere. They've been hiding well from us. We did manage to find some clues and some leads, but we never find a single one. There's a proof they've been around and yet..."
"Not one? You, your sisters and your mom haven't found even one of them?" Sunset's eyes widened.
"Not one." Adagio looked to the side. "Honestly, it's getting pretty tedious moving around so much. So I decided to get a break for a while. To be honest, I'm starting to doubt this search. It's getting us nowhere and I'm getting sick of it."
Sunset only sighed. "Wow...Sorry that it's been going bad for you." She rubbed her head, unsure how to feel about that. "If you need any help, you can come to me, okay? I mean, it's been a while since we've actually talked or done something together, so why not?"
"Like I need your help." Adagio put on a light smile. "But...thanks anyways, I suppose."
"I'm guessing you invited Red to make you feel better?"
"Hm? Oh, no. I invited Red just to spite you." Adagio admitted, placing her hand on Red's shoulder. "It's a win-win for me really. Either I get to spend time with him, or I get to mess with you. And, well, what's not to like about that?"
"Kh! Spite me? I'm here too! You should've just been somewhere else with him! Away from him!" Sunset pointed at her, her face contorting into an angry scowl.
"Yes, but Red also agreed to work as a Temp here too, so here he is. He's gonna be working with me and being around me the most. I'm not sharing with you though. But if you wanna go at it, that's fine with me." Adagio took a step forward.
"Yeah, whatever you say, Grandma." Just like how Adagio called Jessie Grandma, Sunset returned the favour and called her out as an old lady.
"Huh?!" Adagio's eyes widened, her lips curling into a snarl. "You did not just call me that! I'll have you know, I'm still youthful and beautiful in Siren standards!" She and Sunset would soon butt heads, their craniums smacking into each other as they pushed against one another.
"..." Red simply watched this, staying silent as ever before smiling while closing his eyes.
Now that mostly everything had been set up, activities could begin. As they did, some of the Counsellors and Gloriosa would be overseeing it all, especially when it comes to the students catching Pokemon. But before they could catch some, they were actually about to be granted some. A table full of Poke Balls was shown to them.
"Everyone! I hope you're ready to get to know some new friends. For those who want to, you'll be getting a Pokemon from our Camp." Gloriosa gestured to the table.
"I hope there's still some left. I'm sure everyone would want a Pokemon of their own." A Counsellor said, seeing the crowd gather around the table. The Counsellors handed out Poke Balls to the students as they grabbed them, each one containing a Pokemon.
"I got a Ralts!" One boy exclaimed.
"Wow! Look! I got an Eevee!" A girl gushed, holding onto the Poke Ball as she looked at it with sparkles in her eyes.
"Me too!" Another girl showed off her own Eevee. "Aw...They're so cute!"
"Hey! I got a Bulbasaur! I've been looking for one of these!" Another one exclaimed, showing his own.
"A Vulpix..." Fluttershy gawked at the Pokemon she received. "It's so adorable." Left and right, the students were showing off the Pokemon they got, each one being different and unique. Applejack received a Bellossom, just as she hoped for, while Rarity got a Dratini.
Some of these Pokemon were rare as well. Quite the selection of Pokemon here indeed. As for Rainbow Dash, Sci-Twi, Fiery and Sunset, they passed on it since they already had their own Pokemon. And besides, they were confident in catching their own.
"Ash hasn't shown up yet. You made sure to tell hi the location, right?" Fiery asked as the students were getting settled with their new Pokemon.
"Yeah, I did." Twilight nodded. "He said he'll show up eventually. It'll take some time without a bus though. It'll be faster for him to walk here but even then..."
"Waiting for someone, you three?" Gloriosa went up to Sci-Twi, Sunset and Fiery, who all had something close to worried looks on their faces.
"Just another friend. Ash hasn't showed up yet, unfortunately." Twilight explained.
"Ah, don't worry about that. We have a lot of camp to go through, so I'm sure your friend will-" Gloriosa paused for a moment. "Did you say Ash? The one who got popular fast? That Ash?"
"Yeah. That's the one." Fiery confirmed.
"Oho! What a lucky catch! Do you know how beneficial it would be to have someone as popular as him attending out camp? That would really drive up profits. Just saying. Plus, I bet he could help us out with the Pokemon Problem we have here."
"What Pokemon Problem?" Sunset asked.
"Well, there's this one Pokemon, technically it's three in one but still. It's been causing ruckus. Sometimes at night mostly. Caused so much trouble that I had to send my brother to get some help. He's another Camp Counsellor here, but he's busy at the moment. If Ash could come and deal with that problem, that would be wonderful." Gloriosa winked.
"Well, why don't we give it a try then? We sometimes do stuff with Ash." Sunset brought up past events previously.
"Oh, no, no. We can't have the campers getting involved in dangerous situations such as that. That's where me or maybe someone like that girl Adagio and her sistes come in handy." Gloriosa gestured toward the Sirens who happened to also be Counsellors who stood off the side with Sunburst who would explain some camping activities. "As much as I want you girls to help, let's not get you into some crazy, dangerous fight like always with these Pokemon out there lately. Plus, I had to deal with it myself here and there."
"You took on that Pokemon? Was it strong?" Fiery asked.
"It was difficult yes. Being the only one here with 5 Pokemon helps a lot. For the most part, I've been able to keep it away at night for quite a while. As long as no other dangerous thing happens, that problem will stay as a distant memory. I don't need anything messing up everything I put effort into putting here after all. Now, come on. We're about to begin our first activity."
With that, the students would begin their first activity. The sun rose up higher, indicating how more time has passed during the beginning. Most would head somewhere that wasn't too crowded to have do whatever they could with their new friends.
A couple of minutes of having their own Pokemon did wonders for the first day. They made sure their Pokemon weren't getting into trouble for the meantime while still trying to make do with how fun Camp can be. Some Pokemon could even talk as well. That always makes things a lot simpler though, in terms of understanding that is.
The students spent their entire time getting along and exploring everything here with their respective companions. Some of them chose to spend their time inside a tent to teach more about Pokemon. Even though they already do, at least the new ones here don't have too bad a clue about what goes down.
The Counsellors didn't mind. It would be useful if one knows more after all.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket and the Dazzlings were both ordered to handle the Pokemon problem, specifically the one Pokemon that has been causing such a ruckus late at night. While walking side by side, Jessie and Adagio gave each other sharp stares.
"You should let me and my sisters handle it. I'd say we're way more capable of handling whatever Pokemon is here." Adagio glared and pointed away. "Just for your safety."
"Safety? As if we need safety." Jessie scoffed. "As Temp, we're gonna prove how much better us two can get at taking care of troublemaking problems than you or those sisters, or rather sirens?" She emphasized.
Adagio was a bit caught off by that last statement and the tone. How did she know they were Sirens? "We're both Temps here! What are you talking about?!" Naturally, they started bickering again, causing James and Aria to sigh.
"These two..." James and Aria both said under their breaths in slight disbelief that something like this is unfolding before their eyes once more. As Adagio was arguing with Jessie, something was heard. A rustle in the bush.
"Hm?" Sonata immediately turned around toward it. "Hey! Something over there!" Adagio's argument immediately paused as they stared at where the Siren mentioned. For a brief moment, Sonata saw it. Something with six yellow eyes that swiftly moved back.
More rustles could be heard as whatever this Pokemon was, it was moving at great speeds that the eye cannot see clearly. It was definitely fast, moving faster than most Pokemon. The bushes kept moving until...
They felt themselves pushed backwards. Team Rocket and the three Dazzling Sirens stumbled backwards. Sonata fell and skidded to a stop on her face. As everyone else went straight towards her from their sudden stagger and fall. As they were on the ground, they looked up to see the Pokemon responsible for it and those six eyes were making sense now.
Showing up was none other than a Dragapult.
"It's a Dragapult!" James pointed at the Dragon-Ghost-Type.
"Draga!" The Pokemon roared, staring at them. And clearly, by the tone of that voice, it was not happy one bit.
"W-What's it saying?!" Jessie looked at Meowth, relying on him to translate for them.
"She says..." But before he could even translate, Dragapult would attack, using her signature move. Dragon Dart. The two Dreepys on the side of her head would be shot out straight toward her opponents. Team Rocket and the Dazzlings screeched, scurrying away.
"What's your problem?!" Adagio said, seeing that her hair had been dirtied up.
The Pokemon wouldn't reply as she would fly down upon the group, her expression still the same; enraged and ready to attack. She wasn't even giving Meowth any chance to translate anything whatsoever. She'd attack in full on offensive power right away at anything that was within sight.
"Quick! Toxicroak!" Acting fast, Aria threw her Poke Ball forward.
"Toxicroak!" Out emerged Toxicroak, who put up his arms to block Dragapult's attack. After blocking her, Toxicroak pushed her back. "Croak!"
"Dra...!"
"It's obviously mad about something! Is it because we're here?!" Sonata questioned.
"Well, she should probably get lost!" Jessie shook her fist at the Stealth Pokemon. "We aren't even doing anything! Not yet at least..."
"Hold on, hold on!" Meowth would run forward, waving his arms at her. "Time out, lady! We ain't here to hurt you or your kids! Just tell us what's up!"
"Draga...!" Dragapult snarled once more with narrowed eyes. "Dragapult!"
"Gaea...?" Meowth tilted his head as Dragapult finally said something that he could translate.
"Gaea?" They each said collectively, unsure of what that meant. Dragapult continued on, explaining why they should be gone at once, leaving Meowth to translate it for them.
"She says that if we all don't get going, some lady named Gaea Everfree's gonna ruin our lives!"
"Pah! Who's ruining who's life?!" Adagio scoffed at such a statement, facing Dragapult. "Listen, you! I don't know what you're talking about or who this Gaea Everfree is, but I didn't come here to be punked by a Pokemon! Either you quit all that ruckus or-"
"Pult! Draga!" Dragapult lashed out, zooming right towards Adagio, causing her to gasp. Adagio stumbled back, only for Toxicroak to jump forward, ready to shield her.
However, Dragapult would phase through Toxicroak, leaving a shadow in her path. From there, she went straight into Adagio, her body entering the Siren's. "Gh!" Adagio grimaced, feeling Dragapult within her as the Dragapult disappeared from sight into her physical form.
Adagio' eyes turned yellow, her body convulsing and staggering. She could not speak, let alone make sound, only her head shaking left and right furiously as she couldn't understand why her own body was moving so violently and involuntarily at her will and how hard the control of it all came. Right now, she was being possessed.
Dragapult pulled it off with ease. She would take control of her body and use it for herself. Adagio then went silent as her sister's gasped, calling out her name. "Adagio!" After screaming her name, Adagio would turn around, her yellow eyes staring at them.
"...Hm." Adagio smirked. But right now, she was not in control. Dragapult was. "You all should listen carefully to what I have to say." Dragapult began to speak, her voice still resembling Adagio but with an echo. "If you value your wellbeing, then leave. This forest and everything surrounding it shouldn't be tampered with whatsoever. Not with a dangerous magic lurking around.
"W-What?" Aria stuttred.
"None must be here anymore. Gaea Everfree wishes it and as my thanks, I should see it through." Adagio-Dragapult held her hand out to them all. "She wishes for no one else to be here, so it must be."
"Hold on! We need a better explanation than that!" Sonata stepped forward, only for a spectral energy to fly out of Adagio-Dragapult's hands. The energy moved in an erratic matter, surrounding all of them as they each found themselves being pushed back.
"I'm afraid there's nothing more to explain. What exists here is not to be around you all." Adagio-Dragapult said, turning to them, only to use more of the spectral energy.
The energy would soon be thrown at them, pushing them further back. As the energy did so, they'd find themselves unable to move an inch. They were stuck in place.
At that moment, they felt drowsy, their eyelids starting to droop as their heads fell, their consciousness drifting away as their eyes closed shut.
"W-Wait...!" Aria tried to speak up but couldn't. It was too late as she fell to the ground, her eyes shut. Sonata and Jessie were the same, all of them passed out on the ground.
Just like that, they went straight to sleep in the face of this Dragapult, who was acting as a sort of emissary for the one known as Gaea Everfree as the journey continues.
