The Human World. Camp Everfree. Nightfall.

It was currently nightfall at camp, many were asleep, with some staying awake, mainly the counsellors and some nocturnal Pokemon here and there. Sci-Twi slept peacefully in one of the rooms here in the tent, but that peace was not permanant. She began twitching, her face grimacing as she was having an unpleasant dream

In her mind, she came across someone she very much wished she would never be again. Sci-Twi turned around to see the visage of Midnight Sparkle, the manifestation of her darkest impulses, glaring at her.

"You...!" She gasped upon seeing her.

"What's wrong? Thought you'd never see me again? Tough." Midnight smirked, the background behind her was nothing but an abyss. "After what happened last month, I'm honestly surprised I didn't make an appearance. But I have a good feeling about the near future. You can't suppress me forever."

"But I thought I was past you! Why are you coming back after all this time!?"

"Past or not, you can never forget, and what's better than an outlet for those feelings? That's why I'm back and I won't stop until the darkness inside you has consumed you completely. Try as you might, you'll never overcome those weaknesses of yours. Sooner or later, I'll come back."

"But, Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon-"

"What? Those two? Eh!" Midnight Sparkle crossed her arms. "There's a huge difference between those two and us. Those princesses have the experience and the will to overcome that. They've been around much longer. You on the other and are far more vulnerable. You've always been distant from others before this, so I'm primed to show up and reject you completely."

"That's not true...!" Sci-Twi began sweating.

"No? Think about it. What if it's not just a nightmare? What if it's the truth?"

"Shut up! It's not. I'm not like that, not anymore. I refuse to accept that."

"We'll see about that. Or rather, not long until the others do. Good luck with that." Midnight Sparkle chuckled sinisterly. "I'd be on the lookout for Prisma too. That's a huge rising problem. If anything, just like how I'm within you, Prisma being within Ash is the same. There's a chance that you'll lose Ash too. And it'll be wonderful to see your reaction."

"Gah!" Sci-Twi woke up, gasping as she was sweating. Her eyes faced the bed sheets as Alpha Pikachu grumbled, sleeping. That caught her off guard and it was such a scary, horrifying experience. She would reach her hand up, touching her face and checking her forehead. Nothing was there.

She was alright. Midnight Sparkle wasn't around and Prisma wasn't possessing Ash. Sci-Twi was free. Lowering her head, she would let out a sigh, thinking about the possibility that her worst side may one day rise back.

"I can't let that happen..." She said to herself, refusing to let Midnight Sparkle take over her body once more. She couldn't. Not when she had many friends and family she cared about, and a life of her own. But even after all she's been through, the fact that Midnight Sparkle still existed within her was greatly worrying. Sci-Twi had to wonder if there were still some issues she has yet to overcome.

Not wanting to think about it too much, she laid back down, trying to go back to sleep. But as she did, Sci-Twi couldn't help but feel a presence with her. And the warmth from that presence was what was able to lull her back to sleep.

A new day had come for the Summer Camp. And on this day, Team Rocket took the time to build another one of their many contraptions in response to Dragapult. They spent all night building it, and their Pokemon were working alongside them.

"Alright. Let's test out the Dynaic Dragapult Dealer!" Jessie grinned, having an iron claw.

"Looks pretty impressive if I do say so myself." James commented.

"Now then, Meowth. Go ahead and start it up." Jessie pointed and commanded.

"Roger dat. It'll be my pleasure." Meowth walked over. The machine was a massive white and black tube, with a large cannon at the end. Around it were metal wings, making it resemble a UFO. It was also a tad heavy, but it was manageable for the three. "Here we go."

The Machine was online, ready to handle Dragapult and whatever it may try.

"Let's see. She can be fast, but the Dynamic Dragapult Dealer's speed will surpass hers." James observed. "Or DDD for short."

"The Dreampuff Disruptor will stun her." Jessie added.

"And the Digitizer will do the trick." Meowth rubbed his hands.

"I can't wait." James cheered as Wobuffet cried out.

"Wobbuffet!"

"Oooh. What's this?" Suddenly, appearing behind them with pure curiosity was Derpy Hooves. The Trio screeched, seeing the counterpart to the Equestrian that accidentally sabotaged one of their creations once. Despite it happening once, it was a devastating outcome. "Is this a part of the camp? It looks like so much fun!"

"Oh no you don't. You're not ruining our plans again!" Jessie narrowed her eyes.

"Again? When was the first time...?" Derpy raised an eyebrow, tilting her head. Jessie covered her mouth once she realized what she said.

"Um...Nevermind."

"It's so pretty..." Derpy approached the machine, ready to put her hands on it. However, Jessie quickly slid in front of her, preventing Derpy from interacting with the machine in any possible way.

"Look, just back away and pretend you never saw us or anything." Jessie pleaded to her. But even if she were to ask Derpy to leave, the machine caught the attention of others.

Others such as Gloriosa. "My, oh my. What's this" Glorosia said with a smile, stopping in front of this contraption. "Did you three make this?"

"Hm? O-Oh, yes!" Jessie stuttered as she grinned alongside James and Meowth. "Not too shabby, right?! It's for the Dragapult problem you told us to deal with it. With it, we can easily sort things out and fix the situation."

"Oh? Fascinating." Gloriosa leaned forward, observing the device. She then looked at Derpy, prompting her to leave."I didn't know you all were tech-savvy. If anything, that helps a lot. By the way, I would like to apologize for how Dragapult lashed out at you all. She's quite the fierce one, isn't she?"

"She said something about a Gaea Everfree or something like that." Meowth scratched his head. "What's that all about?"

"Just a silly little thing she's crazy about. But, do tell. How does this thing work?"

"Allow me." James stepped forward. "See this button here? Pressing this activates the weapon. For the capture portion, we use the large cannon at the back. Anything the target touches will be caught and transported into the base, where they can't escape."

"Hm-hm. Not too shabby. I trust you'll get it done. It seems I was right to leave the Dragapult situation to you three if you can create things such as this. The other trio, not so much. It seems they are only best at being regular temp workers. No offence to them."

"Don't worry about a thing! We'll teach that Dragapult a thing or two! Let's get rolling!" Jessie exclaimed, beginning to enter the machine. Once they were all inside, the machine would activate, taking off from the ground.

It was back to the deep part of the forest to confront Dragapult. And as Gloriosa watched the machine depart, her smile formed into a frown as she would wake off. There was something she had to do.

Back with everyone else, Red found himself peacefully sitting by the lake, where he was fishing. It was a pleasant day, the sky was blue and the sun was shining. Many different kinds of Pokemon were either swimming around or sitting and resting near the lake.

"..." He cast the line and waited patiently. He had an abundance of bait. Magikarp were the common Pokemon, with Goldeen and Feebas occasionally making their appearances. As he sat and waited, he would notice Adagio approaching him. He glanced over at her, acknowledging her.

"Hello. Am I interrupting?" She asked him.

Red simply shrugged, his eyes still focused on the lake.

"Mind if I join you? Water's my speciality after all. I could always jump in there and find something for you. As a Siren, hunting is one of my specialities.

"..." Red would respond by nodding his head, telling her that she could.

"I'll take that as a yes." Adagio said. Red wasn't the best with words. Adagio, however, was. But she was okay with that.As Red continued to fish, he would soon feel a tug at the line, his eyes widening. Red fought against whatever was caught by the line, pulling the rod with all his strength. The water started sparkling with an odd light, making the lake seem rather beautiful. Whatever it was, it was making the water glorious.

"...!" Red narrowed his eyes, standing up as his feet were planted into the sand. Eventually, the creature pulled itself onto land. Upon seeing the Pokemon, it was not just a Milotic but a Milotic with a strange material on its back. That material was none other than Gem Dust.

"Milotic!" The Tender Pokemon called out as the Gem Dust sparkled. Red was mostly focused on the Gem Dust more than anything and so was Adagio. "Lo!" But they had to take their eyes off it for a moment as Milotic suddenly attacked them with a Water Pulse. Out of its mouth, a strong vibration of water materialised, flying towards them in the shape of a sphere.

"!" Red would then drop his rod, grabbing Adagio and getting her out of the way. The attack missed them both, hitting the ground with water splashing. But not only that, plants seemed to grow from the initial impact, covering that small spot with vegetation.

"What the...." Adagio rubbed the back of her head.

"..." Red was silent, his eyes on the Pokemon. Milotic was not going to give them a break. Not while the Gem Dust was on its back. Adagio then realized that Red was holding onto her for a while, making her mouth scrunch and her face turn red for a moment. She composed herself, her hair whipping.

"Um, Red...C-Could you let me go?" Adagio stammered, her eyes shifting.

"...?" It was at that moment he noticed the position he was in. Quickly, his arms shot off her, his face flustered, realizing he was holding her for a while.

"Ahem." Adagio cleared her throat. "Not that I don't mind it but..."

"Milo!" Her words were cut off by Milotic who would cry out at both of them. Red then stepped forward, wondering what the deal was with the Gem Dust on its back. He then connected it back to the vegetation that suddenly appeared. Somehow, instant vegetation occurred due to the Water Pule and Red knew that mystical material was the cause of it.

Not only that, instead of leaving, Milotic stayed hostile, eyeing them both down. In fact, a smile even formed on its face. It was almost as if it willingly let itself be tugged and pulled onto land.

"What's with that sinister smirk?" Adagio questioned the Pokemon, the Siren's eyebrows furrowing.

"..." Red responded by throwing a Poke Ball forward, summoning one of his Pokemon to take on Milotic in the lake. And for this, Lapras was the correct choice.

"Lapras!" The Pokemon cried, looking back and forth between her trainer and the enemy.

"Lotic!" Milotic cried out at Lapras, the two Water-Types confronting each other. Red wasn't sure what this Milotic's approach was, but he wasn't about to let it have its way. "Milo!" Milotic attacked with Dragon Tail, the end of its tail glowing and forming a large dragon-like extension.

"...!" Red pointed forward, not needing to say anything as always. Lapras would stand her ground, not letting the attack push her away.

"Lapras!" Lapras lowered her body, withstanding the hit by using her heavy shell. That shell had some great defence by it, easily taking the attack as the water would ripple.

"Milotic!" Seeing as her opponent was not going down, Milotic would charge its attack, with a radiant glow surrounding its entire body.

Red and Adagio squinted their eyes at this light as it seemed to be the Gem Dust reacting and changing the state. "...!" Red pointed forward, having Lapras use Protect.

"Bra!" Lapras complied, her eyes glowing as a translucent shield of green energy surrounded her body.

"Milotic!" Instead of attacking with a move, Milotic would simply unleash a bright flash, a blinding light emanating from its form. The Gem Dust acted as a catalyst for the brightness, making the effect even stronger.

"Why is the water glittery?! It's so bright." Adagio used her hand to block her face from the intense lights, her pupils shrinking. What truly mattered was what the Gem Dust really did. Parts of the lake started growing plants that came from the Gem Dust.

These plants looked rather odd. They did not resemble anything Red and Adagio have ever seen. All he could see was the vines, thorns and flowers which were yellow, purple and blue. The most notable thing about these plants was the purple mist and the pink pollen coming out of their seeds. They were also covered in a strange magical energy never-before-seen by them.

But even more surprising, the water below was beginning to open up, receiving a hole that was slowly growing larger. Lapras looked down, surprised and confused. The hole kept increasing in size until eventually, Milotic descended into it, heading elsewhere.

"That hole...It leads somewhere else?" Adagio gawked as Red promptly ran ahead, not having any second thoughts. "Ah, hey! Red! Hold on a minute!"

Red, not bothering to listen, would follow the path, getting onto Lapras's back. Something weird was going on and he intended to find out. Once on her back, Red had Lapras descend into that hole, pursuing Milotic.

"Argh!" Adagio rolled her eyes, promptly following him. "Will you hold on a minute?! Why are you so impulsive?!"

Red paid no mind as he and Lapras ventured through the tunnel. It was a pitch-black tunnel, having nothing but a single beam of light. That beam of light was the sunlight, the source being the lake. While following Red, Adagio made sure to call for her sisters, holding up her phone.

They kept pursuing the Milotic, moving through this underwater system. The further they went, the more Gem Dust they spotted across the walls and ground, with the dust acting like a light source. This light helped the trio navigate the depths.

"What is this stuff anyways?" She peered, reaching her hand over and picking the material up. Instead of it being simple dust that was seemingly intangible, some of it down here had become physical gems. It was as though the substance could change its own structure. Adagio saw how it started forming plants on her hand, prompting her to put it down and shake the growth.

It had a similar reaction to what Milotic's Water Pulse did. Not only did the Pokemon carry the material on its back, but the substance seemed to react with other liquid sources in the vicinity, such as the lake. This meant the gem was everywhere.

And unfortunately for Lapras, she went through the same thing. The further she swam, she eventually came across waters filled with the Gem Dust. Her underbelly would absorb the Dust, the substance immediately taking root and spreading across the underside of her body.

"La!?" This came off as a surprise, and it wasn't comfortable for her. Her underside was no longer just a smooth surface but it was now growing crystal. As Lapras became more and more alarmed, the substance began making her dizzy. Red noticed this before also noticing some land up ahead. He quickly returned Lapras to her Poke Ball, hopping off her.

Once off, Red would swim over to this piece of land that had an open area waiting, Adagio promptly following him. However, Adagio found herself slowing down, her head spinning in the same way Lapras was.

"Red...I don't feel so good..." Was all she managed to utter, before the effects got the better of her. She stopped in place, slowly slipping and almost falling over. Red caught her before her head was about to fall in the water. Adagio grunted as Red held her close. He witnessed how some plants were slowly growing around her hand.

"...?" Red's ears perked at a familiar roar. He looked over, his eyes facing the same Milotic that attacked them. That same mischievous look was present and a wide smirk was on its face.

"Milotic~" She called, her tone joyful and a tad sly. That's when she revealed the area behind her. This open area had a plethora of Gem Dust floating everywhere. Those pieces were either embedded in the ground or in the wall. This room was like an underground cavern.

But that was not all.

"Hm?" Someone else was down here. Someone Red did not expect to see. Slowly turning her head around was Gloriosa Daisy of all people. "!"

"...?" Red was caught off guard. What was Gloriosa doing all the way down here?

"H-How did you get here?!" Gloriosa gasped before gazing at Milotic, knowing it was her fault. "Milotic!"

"Milotic~!" Milotic giggled mischievously, giving Gloriosa an apologetic grin.

"Why are you so devious? Bringing the campers down here? Or I guess in this case, Temporary Workers." Gloriosa complained, crossing her arms and shaking her head.

"..." Red had to know what was going on down here. Gloriosa being down here raised a lot of questions, especially with the Gem Dust. Se also seemed completely fine being around it, unaffected by it. Then again, so was Red. Only Adagio, Lapras and Milotic have shown signs of reactions due to the Gem Dust.

"W-What...?" Adagio squinted her eyes, speaking weakly. "It's you? What are you even doing down here? What is all of this?"

"Hmm..." Gloriosa tapped her foot. "I was hoping no one would have to find out about this. Far too dangerous for that. But now that you're down here, I suppose I can share a bit. But you two will have to leave soon. I'm in the middle of something very important here."

"Important enough that I have to be affected? And that's your Milotic? She attacked us, excuse you." Adagio snarled, leaning forward before being held closer by Red.

"That's how Milotic is. I apologize for that. But all you need to know about this is simple. It's about Gaea Everfree. What if I were to tell you...That we used to be one in the same?"

That name was brought up again. Gaea Everfree. Gloriosa Daisy was clearly aware of all of this. The Gem Dust and Dragapult's actions obviously. But the fact that she was involved in both of them was surprising. Red felt something rather eerie about this. Gloriosa wasn't displaying it, but Red could feel it.

But he could also feel something about Gaea Everfree coming as seen by the Gem Dust all around them. However, the fact that Gloriosa said those words implied that there was something bigger going on as the journey continues.
