My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Gaea Everfree
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe Human World. Camp Everfree. 1 Year Ago.
It was 1 Year Ago.
Camp Everfree was rather basic. Nothing out of the ordinary, except for the existence of Pokemon. They started settling in after they found one of the many portals that led to this world. It's been a few months, with the campsite being set up, the equipment being there.
With summer fast approaching, Camp Everfree was being run by Timber Spruce and his sister, Gloriosa Daisy. They have been running this camp even before the Pokemon showed up. The Pokemon certainly changed things up as to be expected.
Many different species. Many different types. Some were harmless and others were not. Timber and Gloriosa made sure everyone was safe with the existence of the Pokemon, especially considering how they have the power and the ability to harm people.
But that was when one specific day came along that truly changed everything.
The truth is...That Gaea Everfree story is true. But I was always Gaea Everfree. One day, I found Magical Geodes in a cave not too far from this one here. Those five geodes were wonderful. The camp was at risk of being brought out, so I was hoping for a way to prevent that from ever happening and finding those geodes was the key.
Gloriosa explained, revealing more. She remembered how she first held those Geodes in their hands, feeling the magic from them. It was wonderful. Way beyond anything she expected. With this, she believed she could prevent the camp's purchase.
So, I used the power of those geodes for myself, finding out that they can easily control plants. It was perfect. It allowed me to protect the camp. But one of the things it also allowed me to do was come up with a legend. The Legend of Gaea Everfree.
Creating a Legend was the best idea in her mind. A Legend that she managed to exact by using the power of the Geodes. Due to this, it was easy to make many who came to the camp believe in the Legend of the mythical being named Gaea Everfree. She did this for months on end, not caring if they had a clear difference.
And the Legend of Gaea Everfree worked. None could not resist believing it and with that, they were frightened. They would then spread word, causing fear among others. Fear was the thing that was able to make potential buyers from backing out and with no potential buyers, the sale of the camp could never happen. I was going to ride it out until the end. But surprises kept on coming.
One day, when using the power of the Gedoes once more, Gloriosa came across something found in the lake that had recently surfaced. Rift Energy. It found itself in the lake, just near the outskirts of the camp. Some of this cosmic energy would flow out, reacting to Gloriosa's Geodes and her powers.
This resulted in a new phenomenon. Due to how many times she had used the power of the Geode, the Rift Energy promptly brought the being she fabricated to life. The Rift Energy raised her into the air, surrounding her with its strange might.
Confused, she was unsure of what to do as the Rift Energy pulled off another one of its unpredictable actions. From it, within Gloriosa, Gaea Everfree was being created. Her magical visage outlined Gloriosa's body, soon turning into a silhouette.
But it wasn't that Gloriosa was becoming Gaea Everfree. It was actually Gaea Everfree becoming her own being. Her own body. Gaea Everfree was her own individual, one that was separate from Gloriosa.
In one flash, the transformation was complete. Where once stood Gloriosa, was now an entirely different person. She fell through the air, descending down. She almost fell into the water, only for a group of vines to catch her. These vines were connected to the trees, controlled and manipulated by her.
Gloriosa couldn't believe it. The legend she made up was now real thanks to the Rift Energy. It was not only a part of her that had been used ot make but also the entire forest itself was added into this new being. Gaea Everfree was no longer a fictitious creation.
I didn't know how to take it at first. But I realized it was fate smiling down on me some more. First the Geodes, my own Pokemon to help me and now this. Gaea Everfree was real and since she was a part of me, we both had the same goals. Naturally, we worked together to realize our goals.
The two of them were essentially the same person in a way, making it easy for them to collaborate on things. With their newfound partnership, the goal was still the same. To ensure the camp remains untouched. They would do everything together to make sure it was never brought out. All of Everfree would be protected by them.
It would've been perfect. Time was ticking until the day it could've been brought out, so we were confident we could rest easy and solve that issue. But...Gaea Everfree had other things in mind. That's when we started to have conflicts. Gaea was way more aggressive about saving the cap and all of Everfree.
There was a shift in attitude with her, one which had an impact. The goal remained the same. But the approach was a bit more ruthless and unorthodox. As time kept progressing, the plan would grow bolder, all because of one thing. While it was true that her and Gloriosa were the same due to Gaea Everfree being a part of Gloriosa, that other part of her that was the entire forest was another story.
Since she embodied the forest itself, she also embodied its wrath. Its desire to not want the camp. Eventually, those thoughts seeped into her, resulting in the problem. Anyone else who had even the slightest intention or hint of bringing the camp out was met with extreme aggression and the full extent of her power.
Anyone that would dare mess with the camp or anything associated with it was harmed. Greatly too. Not only could she cause natural disasters but could also cause Pokemon to act hostile towards any visitors. Needless to say, we got more complaints and people backed out, but she wasn't satisfied. In fact, she started becoming the threat that could end Camp Everfree itself.
Due to Gaea Everfree's strong will, not only did people not want to invest in the camp, but they also started wanting to stay away, believing that the land was cursed or something. Even worse, they could not continue with the yearly tradition of Camp. Gaea Everfree began a downward spiral in terms of her own stability, something which had an effect on Gloriosa. Thus, she decided to go against Gaea Everfree.
They had a great conflict of viewpoints, resulting in Gaea Everfree lashing out against Gloriosa herself. Gloriosa could thankfully defend herself, having her Pokemon and even the geodes by her side. However, their battle resulted in the lake and a lot of the area in the woods getting destroyed, becoming damaged.
Thankfully, I was able to save the camp but there was damage. The camp took a massive hit in popularity and it didn't help that rumors started up. Those rumors were a great contributor for no one to show up, making the situation much direr for both of us. We went our seperate ways. Gaea opted to stay in the forest mostly since I could use the Geodes to keep her at bay a lot. Since then, it's been a constant back and forth between us.
Present day.
"So this cave and all this Gem Dust is a way for me to try and figure out a way to stop Gaea. If I could use this Gem Dust, a lot more people could have confidence in the camp, making it rise above the rumors, and ultimately, allowing the camp to continue once more. Sure, Pokemon would still be a thing and while most have left, the ones left are tame and docile for the most part."
"So that's what it is...But I don't get why your Milotic felt the need to attack us and why I feel so weird. Plants almost grew on me." Adagio ranted.
"Oh, that. Eh. Milotic's just like that. Don't mind her, ha. That and the Gem Dust is really potent, that's why. As long as you're in close proximity and not careful, it could affect you. But I notice it mostly affects Water-Type Pokemon. But you aren't a Pokemon, are you?"
"I'm a Siren. But I guess...because I'm related to the Water, that's why I had a reaction." Adagio hypothesized.
"A what now?" Gloriosa blinked before shaking her head. "Look, it doesn't matter. What matters is that is none of your concern. Respectfully, of course. Gaea and I have been going back and forth for so long it's been pretty hard keeping a positive attitude in front of everyone else. I pull it off well, but it's rather frustrating. You understand, right?"
"..." Red did. He understood where she was coming from. Having to do this against someone she once worked alongside with would have an impact on anyone.
"I can see it in your eyes. You do see where I'm coming from. Well, you don't have to worry anymore." Gloriosa turned around, looking at all the Gem Dust behind her as she held up the geodes. "I promised myself that this would be the year it all ends. Gaea's done far too much and I've been too passive with her for far too long. It's time I dealt with my other half. before it's too late. I'll teach her to harm my friends and my brother."
"...?" The way that was said was rather menacing, based on what Red processed. It sounded like Gloriosa was about to amp things up to a rather aggressive degree, just to match Gaea's aggressiveness.
"What are you gonna do?" Adagio grunted.
"One last gambit. Nothing I do works all that much. The best I can do is just keep her at bay, but her magic grows stronger since it's tied to the entire camp and anything near it. To stop Gaea Everfree, I'm going to have to envelop the entire area in magic. That way, I can stop her from any direction if the entire camp is covered. I've been spending months gathering as much magic for this day."
"The whole camp in magic? Is that even safe?" Adagio asked.
"Of course. Once she's stopped and I get rid of all this tension, everything can go back to normal and we can continue the annual Summer Camp. Perhaps with more of these Pokemon. I didn't want to tell anyone else this since I don't want to scare any campers. This is my problem and I'd like to solve it."
"It's my problem alone, Gloriosa." Suddenly, a voice echoed across the area.
That was Gaea Everfree's voice.
Gloriosa gasped when she recognized that voice. She couldn't believe her ears. Gaea Everfree had found this secret spot, being in the presence of her own other. "H-How?!" Gloriosa stuttered. "How did you find this place?!"
"It was the girl, of course." Gaea referred to Adagio. "The moment my Dragapult took control of her for those few moments, I was able to reach into her subconscious and follow her movements. It was wise of Dragapult to do so as this now allowed me to find your secret area. So this is where you've been gathering the strength to match me."
From the ceiling itself, an array of plants started breaking through. Vines, roots, and many leaves. And they all carried a certain hostility, having a faint blue glow around them. With that, Gaea would break through the rocky ceiling, sending debris everywhere as she descended down.
There she was. The Embodiment of the Everfree Forest. She perfectly resembled the Legend that Gloriosa described her as, down to a T. Red and Adagio looked up to see this Magical Being descend, carried by an array of plants.
"N-No way!" Gloriosa was shocked, stumbling back as she fell on her back, looking up at her other half.
"I will be honest. Any longer and you would've reached a level of magic that would have truly stopped me. Too bad for you, I will halt your magical progress and instantly increase mine." Gaea declared. "You planned to have the entire camp be surrounded by magic? Well, I intend to do more than that."
"What do you mean...?"
"I've seen and felt this world progress. There has also been a sudden change in time that many have not noticed." Gaea referred to Lena Ketchum's actions. The threat of the area will not die down for even a moment. So, to ensure that Everfree is forever safe, I will turn the nearby city into the Everfree Forest. And then after I envelop the city, I will go beyond and over other locations. My power shall expand and extend to every corner, ensuring no threat will ever harm us again."
"B-But you'll be a threat by yourself! You can't make everything the Everfree Forest!" Gloriosa screamed.
"A necessary step." Gaea proclaimed, narrowing her eyes. "With my current strength, the magic I'm wielding is only affecting a few square miles, if not a small part of the country. To make an effect on the entire world, I have no choice. This is the best possible course of action, and the easiest and safest one. For Everfree. My Everfree."
"I thought it would be our Everfree..." Gloriosa lowered her head. "But it's fine! I still have a chance to stop this. I asked for Timber to-"
"Your brother?" Gloriosa halted her. "He actually came back yesterday, but I was able to catch him. And by doing so, take a gander." One of the plants would open up, revealing her brother.
Timber Spruce.
Once he emerged, his eyes opened, resembling that of Gaea Everfree's eyes. Gloriosa looked shocked, unable to speak. Gaea had total control over her brother.
"You...No way!" Gloriosa jumped onto her feet, a concerned expression etched across her face. "When did you possess him?!"
"The other day." Gaea answered. "Obviously. Your brother, who is also my brother, has a noble cause. But just like you, he's far too weak to go above and beyond. I intend to fix that by having him help me. Soon, you'll be the same and so will many others."
"Oh, great! Just when I thought I had some time to cool off, someone like you shows up!" Adagio suddenly bellowed, gaining the strength to yell at Gaea Everfree. "You've got some nerve, lady! Especially when I just wanna cool down! Get lost!"
"Rude little girl. You have no place to talk in my area." Gaea faced her. "I'll see to it that you become a loyal member of my Everfree. Timber." By speaking to Timber, he suddenly held a Poke Ball out. And out of it emerged a Trevenant.
"Trevenant!"
"..." Red would step forward, moving past Adagio as he had a Poke Ball out as well. He was more than ready to take on a foe like this. By throwing his Poke Ball forward, he summoned his Charizard.
"Charizard!" The Flame Pokemon let out a mighty roar, his wings spread wide.
"Tch. A Fire-Type?" That actually stunned Gaea Everfree as even she knew how Type Matchups worked. "No matter. One Pokemon may not do, but your flames won't burn down the amount of grass I have!"
Suddenly, the other plants opened up, revealing not one, not two, not three, not even four up to six, but multiple Grass-Type Pokemon. Grass-Types galore started pouring out. Each and everyone of them were influenced by Gaea Everfree's own powers.
Each and everyone of them had a predatory and threatening aura around them. They were all glaring at their targets, not saying a single thing. Their expressions said a thousand words. Gloriosa quickly scurried back, running to hide behind Red.
"Pfft! Grass." Adagio scoffed at this, holding out two Poke Balls. "Red's Charizard isn't the only thing you have to worry about. There's more than one way to deal with Grass. Pheromosa! Vespiquen! Appear!" By throwing both Poke Balls into the air, an Ultra Beast, a giant bee appeared, both strong against Grass-Types.
"Go. Make them a part of Everfree." Gaea commanded her servants as they all took action.
The many Grass-Types attacked, mostly attacking from afar with moves such as Magical Leaf, Energy Ball, Seed Bomb, Razor Leaf and Petal Blizzard. But even in the face of so many attacks Red would respond accordingly, pointing forward.
"Char!" Charizard roared as he used Flamethrower, holding his breath in for a moment before letting out a searing wave. Not just one, but an array of hot fire was launched in the forms of several Fire-Shaped dragons.
The Dragons collided with the incoming onslaught of Green Leaves, causing an explosion. Red stood there with a sharp gaze as a bunch of seeds nearly flew over his head.
"Go! Use Triple Kick, Pheromosa! Vespiquen, use Attack Order!" Adagio shouted, pointing forward with confidence.
"Pheroma! Mosa!" Pheromosa leapt into the air before doing a few flips to avoid the incoming attacks, delivering a devastating kick to a Shiftry's head, planting it into the ground. Using her superior speed, she then dashed forward, kicking a Whimiscott square in its chest. Whimsicott was sent flying, crashing into other Grass-Types. The final kick was done on a Wormadam, kicking it aside.
On the other hand, Vespiquen had already sent out her swarms of worker bees that very tiny, who engaged the attacking horde, firing various powerful stingers and sharp twigs at one another. Despite being tiny, their teamwork made up for it, being perfectly coordinated for the sake of the Queen.
The tiny bees surrounded so many Grass-Types, aiming their stingers and shooting. The Stingers did not hit the Pokemon, but did hit their respective bodies, piercing the green skin and biting away at them.
"Bug Buzz!"
While the smaller bees dealt with that, the large Queen herself charged up and unleashed a powerful spray, her signature Bug Buzz, sending powerful waves at many Grass-Type Pokemon. They felt the strong vibrations, making them recoil.
"Zard!" Charizard then flew in, using Dragon Claw. His body was outlined in a bright Dragon-Shaped silhouette. With a flap of his wings, he rocketed forward with a fist held.
His claw had a vicious aura, with a sharp blue light trailing from him. He rushed toward his enemies, punching and smacking many aside. Even the bigger and heavier Pokemon would get knocked down. He didn't waste a beat in taking them all down, as they all started falling.
Trevenant would use Shadow Ball, using it as a projectile and threw it. Charizard would cut the ball in half with Dragon Claw before approaching Trevenant, striking the Phantom Pokemon and leaving a mark.
Gaea watched from her position, snarling with anger. Charizard, Pheromosa and Vespiquen were tearing through her Pokemon. Charizard's amazing strength, Pheromosa's ludicrous speed and Vespiquen's fierce ranged attacks were just a few of their amazing features, working together to decimate the opponent's Pokemon.
Gaea knew what she had to do.
She raised her arm into the air and swung her entire arm around. And as a result, the floor itself shook. Rumbling even. She had her palm on the rocky floors, causing it to shift a little, disrupting the battle.
"Wahhhh!" Adagio yelled, stumbling as she dropped her guard and was thrown back by the sudden shaking.
"Phe...mo....!" Pheromosa grunted, sliding across the floor.
"V-Veeeespiqueen!" Queen Vespiquen yelped, the Bee Pokemon dropping into a hole that had just been opened. She quickly recovered, taking flight to avoid the drop.
Charizard, however, managed to withstand the movement, spreading his wings wide as he looked directly at Gaea Everfree. Gloriosa yelped, clutching onto Red's shoulder's and hiding her eyes, whimpering a bit.
Afterwards, Gaea Everfree summoned a plethora of roots and vines from the earth itself. However, all those roots and vines weren't the only things that came up. An abundance of spores came up as well, having a purple, almost sinister glow around them
"Zard!" Charizard bellowed, unleashing Flamethrower from above, sending a searing stream downwards. The flames would meet with the vines, roots and spores, and with an eruption, the burning ashes were released in the air, floating a bit.
Gaea Everfree snarled and hissed, covering her eyes in the face of these flames. She then looked at Red, realizing he was the biggest threat here. If he could be taken down, then her job would be easy.
"Crush him!" She yelled, making her Pokemon and her other plants launch an array of Magical Leaves at the Pokemon Trainer.
"Pheromosa! Poison Jab!"
"Phero!" Pheromosa intercepted these leaves, dashing forward as her legs were coated in poison and aimed to strike Gaea's Pokemon. With great speeds, she started kicking at the leaves, disintegrating many and making others miss their target.
"Milotic!" Getting involved was Milotic, who had used Water Pulse on the opposing Pokemon from a distance, striking them while they were distracted by Red and Adagio's Pokemon.
Gaea saw that it was getting harder and harder to stop them. She was actually going to lose. Gloriosa had a smile slowly form on her face. It was finally the time she could win and be done with this. But that's when Gaea resorted to bigger tactics. She turned her attention to all the Gem Dust here.
She raised her arms into the air, focusing on the Gem Dust. Gloriosa gasped, realizing what was about to happen. Gaea was going to use her magic on the Gem Dust and cause something dangerous to occur.
"You can't! Don't do it!" Gloriosa stood up, trying to approach Gaea Everfree, but it was too late. By using some vines, she carried herself to the Gem Dust, laying her hands on them.
And once she did, the whole area became shrouded in a dark, ominous, and almost ethereal aura. All the plants glowed a faint blue and Gaea Everfree had an aura envelop her body. Gloriosa backed away, feeling that ominous and threatening energy.
From it, a plant that has never existed would be born. Reda nd the others couldn't see exactly what it looked like since it came flying out so incredibly fast. Faster than even Pheromosa could perceive. Speaking of Pheromosa, she was struck by this strange plant, finding herself being launched back. "M-Mo!"
"Pheromosa!" Adagio gasped as she saw her Pokemon crash into the walls. Red narrowed his eyes, looking up at this strange plant that would hover above them. It was just radiating with magical energy, combined with the power Gaea Everfree's own magic, the Gem Dust and some Rift Energy.
That's when Red sensed and saw it. A part of this mysterious plant would materialize behind Adagio, ready to envelop her. Swiftly, Red would push her out of the way, preventing the plant from touching her for even a moment. Adagio yelped at this push, her head turning to see what had just happened. By pushing her out of the way, Red ended up being caught by the plant itself.
Her eyes widened as she saw witnessed Red's body be instantly enveloped by the mysterious plant, a part of his body covered in an array of thorns and a substance that resembled honey.
"Red!" She got on her feet and tried to approach the Pokemon Trainer, but the same plant would come back, forcing her to jump back. She looked up and saw Gaea Everfree was smiling down upon them.
Charizard spotted this, ready to dive down to save his trainer, only for the plant to catch him as soon as his back was turned. "Rarrrrrr!" Charizard roared.
"Z-Zard...!" The plant completely consumed the Pokemon's entire body, making his body glow a bright blue and his wings were unable to open up. His muscles and his entire body became locked in place, paralyzed and unable to move. Red then looked at Adagio as his eyes were the last thing she saw. But the way he narrowed his eyes said everything. He wanted Adagio and Gloriosa to get out of here as soon as possible.
Adagio froze for a moment before understanding. She closed her eyes. turning around and holding out both of her arms to return Vespiquen and Pheromosa to their Poke Balls. Gloriosa did the same, bringing her Milotic back and running as fast as she could.
"No. NO! You won't escape!" Gaea shouted, throwing her arm forward, sending a plethora of thorns in their direction. They all flew towards them. The thorns raced after the two of them, tearing through the ground and walls in the process.
"Come on, Magic...I need you more than ever right now!" Adagio held onto her pendant, gripping it tightly as the magic within her emanated. By doing so, she would use it to fly, her feet beginning to leave the ground. She then looked at Gloriosa, holding her hand out to have her grab it. "Hurry!"
But it was too late. One of the thorns caught up, wrapping around Gloriosa's leg, and then, with a swift tug, it pulled her down, making her trip. Gloriosa yelled, hitting the ground, her hand letting go of Adagio.
"Gloriosa!" Adagio called out, trying to reach down. But she quickly flew up, realizing that it would be too risky to stay here any further. Adagio ascended upwards, using her magic to fly away. She felt so bad for leaving her and Red behind, but she had no choice. It was either that or the thorns would get her as well.
The thorns tried catching up, but Adagio did manage to successfully outpace them, making it up to the surface, flying away. Gaea Everfree noticing this, snarling at this before smirking.
"It doesn't matter. She'll be next regardless." Gaea spoke, having the thorns drag Gloriosa over to her. Gloriosa Daisy groaned, trying to break free but finding it pointless. "This will truly be the last time we ever have to be at odds with each other. Starting today, everyone in that camp and soon the city will become a part of my Everfree. But it can also be our Everfree once I have you become a part of it."
"Please don't do this! I always opted for another way that wouldn't lead to something like this!" Gloriosa pleaded.
"It's far too late for that. Now, let's become one once more, my other half." Gaea Everfree cackled, causing an echo across the entire cave system. She was now about to begin her big plan to turn everything and beyond into the Everfree Forest. In her eyes, it was the way to achieve peace. If everything was the forest.
If she were to succeed, with enough time, this world would become an entire Forest Planet. All bending to Gaea Everfree's will. Gloriosa closed her eyes as she was being enveloped in vines, realizing that she had failed as the journey continues.
