My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Ash & Celestia
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEquestria. Canterlot. Equestria League Stadium. Afternoon.
The climax of Ash and Celestia's battle was here. It was time for Pikachu and Lucario to pull out all the stops, no matter what. Cobalion scraped his hoof on the ground, knowing that he was also running on lower power than before thanks to his previous battle with Sirfetch'd. Each side were damaged and could be taken out with heavy enough damage.
And just like that, those who bet on either trainer saw that it could go either way. "Cobalion! Use Sacred Sword!"
"Pikachu, Quick Attack!"
"Pi!" Pikachu dashed in at lightning speeds, managing to hit Cobalion before the Steel-Fighting-type could strike with his horns. The Iron Will Pokémon was pushed back a bit, but he managed to hold his ground. He wouldn't have much more room to maneuver due to Pikachu's speed, but it wouldn't stop him.
He raised his horn, swinging it downwards at the Electric-Type, trying to get him to stay in place. But Pikachu jumped out of the way, dashing about, zig-zagging past Cobalion, confusing him.
"Electroweb!"
"Chu-Pi!" Pikachu's tail sparked, as a web of electrified silk was sent forward, the attack striking the Iron Will Pokémon in the face, making him shake his head. The Electroweb stuck to him, sending electricity all around his body. However, all it took was him raising his head to slice the web in half, the silk disappearing and the sparks dying down.
"Metal Burst!"
A powerful blast of silver energy were shot forward from his mouth, but Pikachu dodged to the side, letting the blast crash into the ground, the field shaking from the explosion that followed. He stumbled from the tremor, but regained his footing.
"Sacred Sword!"
With another swing, Cobalion tried to strike Pikachu from the side, and when he tried to do a quick jump to evade, he would quickly be kicked into the air. He flipped, landing on his feet and quickly dashing away. Cobalion followed his trail, charging after him with a great deal of speed, and Pikachu would be forced to do some back flips, cartwheels and twists to avoid being struck.
"Quick Attack!"
Pikachu went from running to running on all fours, going fast and swift, avoiding Cobalion's next attack and managing to leap into the air, spinning around and unleashing a mighty kick at Cobalion's face, the Steel-Fighting-type skidding back. He looked up, seeing Pikachu jump backwards.
"Increase your sword a bit more, Cobalion!"
Heeding Celestia's command, Cobalin poured extra power into his sword, its size growing and pulsating with immense power. Pikachu watched in awe as the sword kept growing and growing. Eventually, Cobalion's sword peaked at its size, only matching the strength he could currently output.. but he was still trying to power it up some more.
"Strike it, Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!"
"Pika...Chuuu!" Pikachu targeted the tall sword with his attack, releasing a stream of electricity that struck the sword with a direct blow. However, the attack did nothing to Cobalion or the sword, barely fazing him, and the sword remained unphased, and in fact, grew a little bit larger. However, the Thunderbolt did paralyze him, getting its effect off.
After feeling the paralysis, Cobalion pulled his head back, ready for a swing so powerful that even Pikachu couldn't hope to stop or avoid it. Ash saw this, promptly bringing Pikachu back. "Get back, for now, Pikachu!" He shouted while having a Poke Ball in his hand. "And it take it from here...Lucario!"
"Luca!" Right as Cobalion swung his sword down, Mega Lucario had arrived, leaping forward with his arms outstretched, and caught the large blade, the attack being blocked. The Aura Pokemon held the blade for a few moments, his knee digging into the ground as tremors and shockwaves travelled across the stadium.
The crowd were on edge, but Mega Lucario's expression was stoic. "Lu-Caaaa...Rioooo!" Using his incredible strength, Mega Lucario pushed back against Cobalion's blade, his own aura beginning to form and manifest. It flowed through his arms, the blade's power clashing against the aura. And with a ton of force, Lucario would lift Cobalion off the ground
"What...?!" Celestia exclaimed in surprise, not believing what was happening. Cobalion's eyes widened in shock, feeling himself get lifted off the ground, the Steel-Type struggling to remain on his hooves.
"You can do it, Lucario!" Ash encouraged his partner. "Jump!"
"Rrr!" Lucario then leapt off the ground while still holding onto the blade. He began flipping over, carrying Cobalion with him, the two soaring through the air. Cobalion couldn't do anything. He tried retracting his sword but it was no good. Lucario was making sure that he wouldn't!"
"I-I can't retract it!" Cobalion exclaimed.
"Now! Aura Sphere!"
"Lu-Caaa-RIOOOO!" As the two Pokemon continued flying, Lucario's palms began glowing blue. His aura would travel along the entire sword and into Cobalion's body. And with that, Lucario unleashed a mighty Aura Sphere, the attack exploding into Cobalion, sending the power sword back to his head and him falling back to the ground.
He landed on the ground, shaking his head as he tried to regain his balance, his vison blurring a bit and his body ringing from the impact. Lucario landed beside Pikachu, the Electric-type and Steel-type standing tall. He was still standing, managing to stay up, surprising everyone. Cobalion smirked for a moment as everyone held their breath, his eyes suddenly closing.
"Well done." He praised Lucario before fainting on the spot. But he did not faint by falling over. He simply fainted standing up. It was his sheer willpower not allowing him to fall over and be defeated. He was too strong and too proud. He fell unconscious.
"Cobalion is unable to battle! Mega Lucario wins!" The crowd roared in delight, amazed at what Lucario had accomplished. He and Pikachu had been taking a lot of hits, and their current states showed that. Ash and Celestia could both see that these Pokemon had more in the tank, but it wasn't 100% certain that they would win against Gardevoir, who had her ace in the hole.
However, Ash smiled, proud of the performance of his teammates. They always kept going and it showed with every step, even though it was getting tough. Celestia walked over to Cobalion, and patted his back, showing that she was grateful. "You did well. Thank you for everything, Cobalion."
"Y-You're welcome...I'm just glad I got to battle alongside you in such a way. Thank you, your highness." He responded.
"Hahahaha...oh Cobalion." She chuckled as the floor beneath would open up once more, returning him. Cobalion would get all the rest he needs as the crowd waited for the final Pokemon. Gardevoir. The audience couldn't believe that there was such a turn of events, especially Celestia who had been at an advantage up until this point. It had been switching from Ash and Celestia, both getting their share of advantages, and the same thing would be said here.
Nessa, who viewed this, scrunched her face as she lowered her head. She expected Ash to lose to another Legendary and only managing to defeat one. But now that he's beaten both, her chances of defeating him one day have been struck down just like that. "I'm never beating him, am I?"
Passion's battle was the only one that hadn't been decided yet, and Celestia couldn't afford to make any mistakes. The two of them knew what they had to do. This was it. "It's all up to you! Passion!"
"Gardevoir!" She cried out upon emerging, her beautiful visage shining like an angel. Ash looked up at her, admiring her appearance, before turning his eyes to his team.
"Now, it's time for us to use all that we have left." Out of Celestia's mane emerged Passion's Mega Stone. From the looks of it, she was about to Mega Evolve, but Ash knew better. He knew that Celestia would take it to the next level. The two of them were about to unleash the Harmony Phenomenon, becoming one.
The Mega Stone would float over to Passion's neck, the Psychic-type reaching her hands over her shoulders. With a small burst of magic, she would clip the Mega Stone on. The item would glow in a bright, golden light. The duo were enveloped by the light, their bodies synergizing and becoming one.
The golden light would soon die down, and Ash could see a familiar sight. But not the same one. This was not the first time he saw them unite, but there was something different about this one. Out of that beautiful light emerged the fused being. Celestial-Gardevoir. The union of a Pony and a Pokemon.
She gracefully descended onto the battlefield, her long mane and hair swaying in the air, her dress-like clothing sparkling, and the crown atop her head, which was a new addition she added. The two worlds had come together, and the beauty of it was amazing as always.
"Well, Ash. Here I am." Celestial-Gardevoir spoke to her opponent. "I know you've been waiting patiently for this, haven't you?"
"You can say that again." Ash replied, grinning, knowing how powerful she could be. "But man, I thought you would've entered that Ascended Form I saw."
"Perhaps I will, perhaps I won't. It's still new to me, but you'll have to try and get me there, if possible. Because I intend on winning this battle." She pointed at him, the voices of both Celestia and Passion coming through. "We'll take you down. Together!"
"Man, I really wanna see you in that state...so we're gonna force you to go into it!" Ash was willing to make his opponent stronger just for the sake of his curiosity, and so that he could fight the absolute best version her.
"Are you crazy!? Just beat her how she is! My money!" One dragon in the crowd bellowed out, earning some chuckles and snickers from the rest. Ash and his antics would always entertain the masses, even when it wasn't meant to.
"Ash..." Celestial-Gardevoir smiled as she shook her head. She appreciated his ambition, and was looking forward to fighting him at her best. "Then, I'll start it off a Plasma Bolt!"
By using Mystical Fire on one hand and Thunderbolt on the other, Celestial-Gardevoir would put her hands together, merging the two, combining the attack, and sending a huge blast of pure plasma. It was much more powerful than a standard Plasma Bolt, and would surely deal quite the damage.
"Lucario, use Aura Sphere!"
"Lu...Ca!" Lucario charged up his aura, launching the sphere straight into the air, creating a wall of aura that was used as a barrier. "Lucario!" He exclaimed as the sphere would block the plasma, stopping it in its tracks. The Plasma Bolt exploded, but the aura did its job and stopped the blast, a wall of blue aura appearing before the duo, keeping them safe.
"Now, use Bullet Punch!"
"Ca!" Lucario's arms were surrounded in an aura and he rushed forward, the wind blowing past him. However, Celestial-Gardevoir would promptly teleport to the side, dodging Lucario's first punch. Her eyes were filled with a bright, golden light, and a psychic aura manifested itself around her hand. She struck at Lucario, her palm smashing against his body as she had used Mystical Fire.
Lucario's body would be lit up, engulfed in magical flames that roared loudly as he was sent flying. The Aura Pokemon hurled through the air, his body crashing against the walls of the barrier, startling some of the crowd from the hard impact. As Lucario was plastered there, Celestial-Gardevoir reappeared in front of him, having another Mystical Fire ready. However, by Ash and Lucario's Auras resonating with each other, Lucario was able to swiftly react, and the moment she unleashed the flame, Lucario was gone, leaping off the barrier.
The crowd gasped as the flame hit against the barrier, Celestial-Gardevoir turning her head. She gave chase to Lucario, flying towards him at high speeds with Mystical Fire in one hand and Psychic in the other. She held one arm out, using Psychic to try and restrain Lucario, only for Ash to act swiftly once more.
"Double Team!"
"Rrr!" Lucario managed to split himself right before the Psychic hold could get him, multiple copies of him appearing, confusing his opponent. Celestial-Gardevoir saw Lucarios everywhere, fro top to bottom, but she could tell which one was the real one. And without any hesitation, she fired the Mystical Fire.
By sensing his presence, she pinpointed the correct Lucario, ignoring the rest. The real Lucario gasped, shocked that she found him. But, with a grin, Lucario faked her out. She did in fact find his location, but she failed to see that it was another clone in front of him in the same position, made to look like he was alone. That clone was used as a decoy. being destroyed as Lucario leapt into the air, appearing right above the Psychic-Fairy-Type.
"Reversal!"
"Lucaaa...!" Taking all the damage he's received in battle and channelling into power, Lucario brought his fist back, the energy glowing a bright orange.
"?!" Quickly, Celestia would use Plasma Bolt to try and stop this, the two unleashing their moves. Reversal was thrown out as a wave, meeting with Plasma Bolt and initiating a clash. The two moves rippled with a powerful amount of power, and they would not relent, neither side budging. However, with enough time, Celestial-Gardevoir might win thi struggle.
"Lucario! Let all the heat come to you!" Ash suddenly said something outlandish, confusing everyone who heard his words. Even Lucario. What did he mean let all the heat come to you? Was he talking about absorbing the flame and using it as energy to fuel the Reversal? Lucario clicked instantly. That's exactly what Ash wanted.
"Lu...!" The Aura Pokemon began letting the heat come to him, allowing it to affect him from this distance, his body growing hot, sweat dripping down his brow. "Ca..." He took a deep breath as his body began to glow a fiery orange, the aura around his fist pulsating.
"What's he planning now?" Rainbow Dash and the others had to wonder, but Twilight gasped, realising what it was.
"Oh! That's genius!" Twilight bellowed.
He allowed himself to feel the heat, but this began working to his benefit. Because of this, Reversal was getting stronger. Not only was it growing stronger, but it was also beginning to merge with Plasma Bolt, the two powers becoming one.
"Hah! He's purposefully getting hurt just to make it stronger?! Incredible!" Celestial-Gardevoir noticed immediately and gasped in disbelief, seeing that she was losing the struggle. Eventually, Lucario's power would become too much, and Plasma Bolt would be overtaken, the move's power going haywire. "Y-You never cease to amaze me, Ash!" She smiled while starting to be pushed back.
"Lucario...!" With a powerful shout, Lucario's Reversal engulfed the Plasma Bolt, striking Celestial-Gardevoir square in her chest, knocking her down to the ground. As she was hit, the power would travel across the stadium, the field shaking once more, and the crowd feeling the heat. They could tell how much power was being unleashed from that single strike.
The impact of the blow caused an explosion, kicking up a lot of dirt and dust, obscuring everyone's view. But, they would quickly see Celestial-Gardevoir rising out of the debris, taking flight. But she certainly felt that attack, no doubt, holding onto her chest, the power of that strike coursing through her veins.
"Rush in with Bullet Punch and Double Team!"
"Rrr!" Lucario would advance, running towards Celestial-Gardevoir while duplicating himself. However, his opponent wouldn't allow that, her eyes glowing bright and she held her hands out, creating an Psychic barrier. "Ca!" Lucario was repelled by the barrier, but he bounced back up, and tried again, only to be pushed back.
He kept at it, punching and smashing the barrier, creating cracks. Each strike would weaken it, and he was trying his hardest to break it, his fist pounding the Psychic shield. But this was part of Celestial-Gardevoir's plan.
"Got you!" She would point at the ground and fire a Mystical Fire, and the attack would create a pit in the middle, causing the barrier to shatter, the pieces of it floating into the air. Lucario would fall into the hole, his head peeking out, but Celestial-Gardevoir's hands would grab onto his arms, the Fairy-type Pokemon holding him in place. "Hm!" By using Mystical Fire along with one of her many spells, Celestial-Gardevoir's hair would grow and extend, the flaming, long strands wrapping around Lucario.
"Lu?!" He cried out, struggling against her, but the power of her magic and the grip of her hair kept him locked in place. Lucario tried exerting his Aura, but Celestial-Gardevoir made sure to shut that down by increasing her grip, and with her eyes flashing golden, she created a Fire Tornado that surround her and the Aura Pokemon.
The fire burned him, and he couldn't free himself, not at all. He couldn't muster the strength to pull away and get loose. Afterwards, there was a great blazing explosion that went off, lighting up the skies. Ash watched as Celestial-Gardevoir emerged from the flame, unscathed and holding the fainted Lucario.
"Lucario..." Lucario struggled, opening his eyes for a bit, seeing his Trainer and Pikachu looking up at him before fainting. Celestial-Gardevoir descended, placing him down gently as he returned to his original form.
"Lucario is unable to battle! Celestial-Gardevoir wins!" The announcer called out, Ash took Lucario's Poke Ball ball, recalling him, and looked over at the others, knowing that the next would be the end of this friendly battle.
"Way to go, Lucario. Rest up as much as you want." Ash said before facing Pikachu. "Alright, Pikachu, the rest is on us!"
"Pika-Chu!"
It's the final showdown. Celestial-Gardevoir vs Pikachu. It will now be decided who will come out on top. It all came down to this. Everyone was anticipating this critical moment. Pikachu had taken a lot of damage, having used so much energy dodging plenty of attacks, and was tired. Celestial-Gardevoir, although she had a ton of energy, the Gardevoir part of her still had all that damage from before, meaning she had yet to fight at her peak.
Celestial-Gardevoir was still a powerful contender and had her tricks up her sleeve. The potential of her reaching that transcendent form was also up in the air, making her seem like she had the advantage. But Ash was not one to let disadvantages drag him down. No matter what. He always fought and battled no matter the odds. He always had something up his sleeve.
"So, you're the only one left, Pikachu. We're both tired, but it won't stop me."
"Pi-ka-chu!" Pikachu responded.
While staring at each other, Ash and Celestia thought back to when they first met and how they got to this point. From the start, Ash was already a strange one to Celestia, but easily approachable. The two of the were relatively mutual at first, but the more Ash helped out her subjects, and the more the Princess grew a fondness for him.
The two became friends, much like how Ash was able to make so many friends here. But more than that, Celestia found that being around Ash meant that she could be more of herself. Not just being the Ruler of Equestria, but being her, the real her, without needing to be so stiff or formal. It was a relief, especially in this era of peace and tranquility.
It was refreshing, and a big help. She didn't need to act as regal, she could be playful, fun and silly, just like every other Pony out there. But she did have that serious and wise side to her that came with being a Princess. And Ash appreciated that side of her, admiring it, even.
Celestia did admire Ash for a variety of things, and for that, she was grateful. It was the only reason she could do all of this, feeling a rush of excitement she's never felt before. And as for Ash? He was just glad to always be with friends. Nothing more, nothing less.
"I'm glad I met you, Ash. Because of you, I got to this point. And for that, I am truly grateful!" Celestial-Gardevoir ascended, her magical aura flaring out of her as she became a mini-Sun, the power burning bright. She levitated, and her hair flowed around her as the entire field was engulfed in an incredible, bright light.
She was doing it. Celestial-Gardevoir was beginning to enter that transcendent state, her body slowly becoming purely white. It seemed that the boost she needed to reach this state was by remembering the times she had spent with Ash, a huge smile forming on her face as she closed her eyes, the energy around her exploding with power.
"We'll finish this one go, Pikachu!" Ash held his arm out, unveiling the Z-Ring on his wrist. It was time. Time for Pikachu's Z-Move while Celestial-Gardevoir was building up strength. Ash placed the Z-Crystal within his Z-Ring, and prepared his pose, while his friends watched on with great interest, knowing exactly what he was doing.
"Pika...!"
"More...!" Ash said to himself, the Power of Alola growing within Pikachu some more. "Way more than this!"
"Pi...ka-chu-u-u-u-u!" As Celestial-Gardevoir reached a higher point, she began to shine even more, her hair extending and flailing in the wind, the aura around her getting wilder. It was like she was about to become a pure sun, or even a Supernova. The light got brighter and brighter, and the power around her increased exponentially, reaching a crescendo.
The barrier started cracking, unable to handle this rising power coming from both of them. As Ash's hat went on Pikachu's head, the Mouse Pokemon would run towards Celestial-Gardevoir while all that Z-Power was flowing within him. From the Light, the Ascended Celestial-Gardevoir appeared, already preparing a powerful Dazzling Gleam in her hands as she raised her arm up.
"Pikachu! 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt!"
"Pika...Pikachuuuu!" Releasing it all, 7 mighty Thunderbolts of multiple colours flew out from the electric-types mouth, rushing straight towards Celestial-Gardevoir.
"Dazzling...Gleam!" With an explosive shout, the Psychic-Fairy-Type Pokemon threw her hand forward, unleashing her own move. A massive golden rainbow of dazzling light flew from her hand, the move flying directly into Pikachu's Thunderbolt. The two moves met head on, creating a loud clash, a paroxysm of energy shooting up. Instantly, the barrier shattered, being destroyed for good as these two attacks clashed with each other.
Ash could barely see anything, but his mind was clear and his goal was set. There was no stopping him now. He knew that Pikachu wouldn't relent until the end. The same could be said for Celestial-Gardevoir who didn't want this to stop.
As they clashed aginst each other, the air started to shake as the seats were breaking apart, and the ground would begin cracking. It seemed that the sheer power from the collision of the two powerful moves were tearing apart the battlefield. The entire arena was in shambles, but the battle would continue on regardless.
"!" Twilight then looked up, seeing what this clash was truly doing. It was doing more than just shaking the air, ground and breaking seats. The intensity of it was starting to affect the skies themselves. Dark clouds would emerge from the sky and the rain was pouring down hard, but it didn't seem to affect the intensity. If anything, the rain seemed to be fueling it even more. A rainstorm instantly started, lightning crackling.
"Woah...They're changing the weather because of this?!" Smolder gawked in awe.
"They're doing more than just that...!" Twilight's pupils shrunk. "The level of this clash...it's slowly affecting reality!" She explained.
"Eep...?!" Fluttershy saw the clouds in the sky swirling around, a strong gale picking up. This was the effect the two moves were having, and everyone could see the destruction caused by the clash. The wind would get stronger, and the rain poured harder, the dark clouds looming above. The air became colder and the wind began whirling.
While gradual, the two of them were starting to shatter reality itself as red, gold and blue lightning were striking from the skies. The crowd and anyone in the distance were surprised and stunned by this display of power. This was a battle like no other, and even they were feeling the effects of this battle, the shockwave spreading across the land, going past the stadium and Canterlot as well.
However, this clash would come to an end before it could get too out of control. Both were giving it their all, but it seemed that neither attack broke through. Thus, they blew up in front of each other, a white light expanding and engulfing both of them. Luna and Chrysalis combined their magic to shield everyone from the expanding light, and it would fade, allowing them to see again.
The end of the outburst was a beautiful white pillar that shot into the sky before fading. As everyone looked onward at this sight with all the dut clearing, the hat of Ash and the crown of Celestial-Gardevoir had fallen to the ground, laying to the side. More importantly, Pikachu and Celestial-Gardevoir were both seen standing, breathing heavily.
"Pi...Pi..."
"Hah...Hah..."
Both of them panted, their bodies smoking. But as they smiled at each other, it happened. Both fell over. Celestial-Gardevoir's body would glow as two beings separated from each other. Passion would hit the floor as Celestia stumbled back.
The end result was a draw.
"Both Pokemon are unable to battle! This battle is a draw!" The announcer yelled, everyone going silent at this result. Ash and Celestia's smiles wouldn't waver as they both fell on their backs.
"Man! That's it for me!" Ash exclaimed, Pikachu panting, smiling, his head lying down.
"My goodness...What a battle..." Celestia breathed in and out, exhausted. The crowd loved it all. From start to finish, this was the greatest battle they've witnessed, and there was no disappointment in the draw. It was an exhilarating experience, one that they'll cherish forever. Cheers from all around, including those watching from home that this was broadcasted to.
Leon smiled at this, knowing that this was just a wonderful promise of whatss to come. He was eagerly waiting for the day Ash enters the Masters 8. Because of this battle, he was more excited to battle Ash when that time comes.
As the cheers continued, Ash and Celestia both laughed together, enjoying the atmosphere. They laughed as friends, their bonds growing even further and so did their strength as the dark skies cleared, showing the beautiful heavenly blue skies once more.
"Those two...What a duo..." Twilight smiled lightly at them both. The boy she loves and the alicorn she looks up to. A wonderful and beautiful combination.
"Celestia..." Ash said to her while looking up at the Sun. "That was an awesome battle. Some other time, let's battle again..."
"I look forward to that." Celestia would gladly battle him again someday. Possibly when they are both stronger than ever. For now, they were just going to lay there and rest under the Sun.

As the journey continues.
