My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Dreams of the Future
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEquestria. Ponyville. Nightfall.
Hours have passed after the battle with Celestial-Gardevoir, the draw ending with Ash and Pikachu against Princess Celestia. It was a close one, and an experience worth living. The audience and the people who saw it through the cameras would talk about it nonstop, and it would spread far and wide, becoming the most talked-about topic of the week.
With the battle finally over, the Pokemon and Humans had a lot of fun during their stay in Canterlot, exploring the castle and the city, eating the delicious food and interacting with the inhabitants. It was a relaxing time for everyone, and something for the trainers to remember.
In one part of the garden, there were three individuals relaxing on some benches. On one of the benches, Twilight, Fluttershy and Ash sat together, Ash resting up after a long battle, the trio of friends chatting away.
"Ahhh...that was an intense battle." He said while slumped over with Pikachu.
"Pika..."
"That was a lot of fun, though. It's so wonderful seeing you battle as always, Ash!" Fluttershy chimed in. "The same goes for Princess Celestia!"
"Well, if she was looking to take part in any leagues, I'd say she would have the potential to enter the Masters 8." Twilight pointed out. The fact that she tied with Ash was impressive in of itself, truly showing her growth.
"Heh, I can see it." Ash nodded, smiling at the thought. As they were talking, watching from outside was Stella Bloom. She had seen it all. The entire battle from start to finish, just like everyone else. Being that she was the first pony to ever have a Pokemon-Related Cutie Mark, seeing that battle sparked something within her.
She wasn't exactly into Pokemon Battles and she wasn't about to start dedicating her life to them, but this reaction to the battle did do something. It unlocked a new talent for this unique Cutie Mark Bearer, something she had never really experienced before.
"How goes things, Stella?" Luna entered the guest room, meeting with Stella Bloom who turned her attention towards the Princess.
"Princess Luna! Ah, uhm...Well, the battle was a ton of fun." Stella told her, thinking about the intense match that went down earlier. Luna nodded, walking towards her, the door shutting behind her.
"So you did see it, and I could feel a strange sensation of magical energy coming from this room. Is something the matter, Stella?" She asked. Stella shook her head. "Did soemthing significant happen?"
"Yes. Something did happen. But I'm not sure what though..." There were no hints or clues as to what new talent Stella Bloom had, but she did have a good feeling that her new talents would be shown sooner rather than later. "Maybe it will come up at some time. But I bet...it might have something to do with Pokemon Battling."
"Hmm...That would make the most sense. You aren't an avid battler at all either. After all, it's only recently that you caught your first Pokemon. Bulbasaur. So if it's not an affinity for battling, it may be something related to it in another sense." Luna pondered, trying her best to figure it out.
"By the way, you and Princess Celestia told me this one thing. You said that because of my Cutie Mark, just like what happened way before your time, new Pokemon-Related Cutie Marks could appear in the future." Stella Bloom stepped forward. "What would they even be?"
"Anything. Just like how all Cutie Marks prior to this one are bountiful and limitless, the same can be said for yours. Obviously, all things Pokemon will be tackled by the ponies who end up with Cutie Marks such as these and with how the scope of the Pokemon World is bigger than we can imagine and we are still discovering new things, I'd say there will be an endless amount of Cutie Marks to have, especially since Equestria will always be a home to both Pokemon and Ponies. In the past, it was just Ponies, and Pokemon came into play just 4 years ago, but now they are a vital part of Equestrian culture. As a result, Pokemon related Cutie Marks can take place here."
"I see...Then I will work to figure out my Cutie Mark on my own, and once I've discovered it, I will show the Princess, you and the others. But...It's kinda scary." Stella Bloom confessed.
"Why is that, dear?"
"Well, this means that I am going to be the first one of many, many, many different types of Cutie Marks to have the same design. And while I don't mind, there is bound to be someone who will, and the thought of being a target is terrifying, Princess." Stella explained her thoughts and feelings, causing Luna to understand and sympathize with her.
"Yes. This does mean that there is a possibility of that happening, but I won't allow that. As such, I will take full responsibility for everything and keep you protected. You will have my full protection, Stella." Luna declared. "Now then. It's getting late, so it would be best if you head home and get some rest. The night is upon us. Darkrai, Cressela and I will ensure you have sweet dreams. You need not worry, my friend."
Stella was glad to hear that. To have protection by the Princesses themselves made her truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world. She nodded and bowed. "Thank you, Princess." She would leave the guest room and the castle, saying goodbye to everyone and departing to return home, the moon rising into the night.
Outer Space.
At the same time, the Antibodies from the far and darkest parts of the Universe were still on the move, responding to Stella Bloom's Cutie Mark. Even if Stella was unaware of her talent, the Antibodies would know, and would come to deal with her, regardless of if she was useful or not.
A single Antibody was heading towards Earth, the rest being caught up in black holes along the way. This antibody would separate itself, multiplying its numbers in the hopes of finding Stella. The Antibodies started accelerating the closer they got to earth, their speed increasing as they approached the planet, but something would appear out of nowhere and intercept.
A giant cosmic entity. One of the Rifts. A single Rift was enough to stop a whole horde of Antibodies in its tracks. But they weren't done just yet, they needed to fight back. So the Antibodies did, unleashing a massive wave of obscure matter.
And so began a great conflict, with the Antibodies unleashing a powerful attack, only to be stopped by the Rift, the entity firing out a powerful laser from its body, the ray cutting straight through the wave, annihilating all in its path. The Rift fired a beam that struck the Antibody, the antibody unleashing more matter and using its constructed to try and smash the rift, but the Rift dodged with amazing speed.
The rift and antibodies clashed against each other, fighting each other with all they had. They fought across the stars, the rift's light and the Antibodies obscurity. They kept battling each other, until the Rift used a powerful laser beam from its mouth and sliced the Antibody's body in half.
However, the Antibody simply used those split parts to make new variants of itself. The Rift was only doing this for the sake of seeing more interesting things showing up. The existence of Stella Bloom's Cutie Mark basically paved a new and interesting future, and the Rift was interested in seeing how things will go.
But the Antibodies were here to deal with that potential future. In what way? That has yet to be seen. Both cosmic forces paused for a moment, essentially staring at each other even though they had no eyes. Then, the Rift decided to turn around and head off. This would only confuse the antibodies, not knowing what to think of this, but it didn't matter to them.
They continued on their way to Earth, the Rift deciding not to stop them. After all, they could provide entertainment as well.
Stella's Dream.
Late at night, Stella was fast asleep, lying next to her Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur was her first Pokemon, and from this point on, she would go anywhere and everywhere with him. It was a special bond, one she never had before. Stella wasn't sure what her talents were or if she was a talented pony, but she was willing to find that out for herself, and hopefully, her talents had something to do with her Pokemon.
She was currently dreaming peacefully, being in her own Dreamscape with Bulbasaur managing to join her, and it was a very strange dream. Everything around her was nothing more than a white space, a vast and empty area, and Stella could barely see her own hooves. However, the further she walked, the more she would see the silhouettes of various different Pony Types, some big and others small.
The Ponies didn't seem to notice her and neither did she seem to notice them. They just passed her by, but one silhouette stopped, the figure slowly turning around and looking towards Stella. It was hard to tell what she was looking at, but she could definitely feel something was being emitted from her.
"Hmm...?" The silhouette turned around, looking right at her. "Ah!" Stella yelped, stepping back. "Huh?! Who are you?"
The Pony looked at her, the darkness covering her face as she approached her. It was an intense gaze that caused her to shiver a bit, but it wasn't fear that was causing this. Rather, it was the overwhelming intensity. Just then, a cutie mark manifested on this silhouette. A Pokemon-Related Cutie Mark. Stella gasped at this sight.
"Your Cutie Mark!"
It wasn't just this silhouette, but all the others were gaining Cutie Marks of their own, a multitude of colours, each and every one having a different one. As these cutie marks were formed, it was becoming clearer as to what this was. But right before one of the mystery ponies could get closer to Stella Bloom, a magical beam would fly down, getting in between her and the pony. Stella looked up to see Luna descending into her dreamscape, the night sky turning blue and the day sky appearing.
"Princess Luna!" Stella exclaimed with a joyous smile. Just as she promised, she would protect Stella Bloom.
"Hm. These ponies...those marks..." Luna eyed down the silhouettes. "I see what this is."
"W-What is it?"
"This Dream you're having. It's more than just a dream. It's a premonition of the future. What we're looking at are ponies from the future, whether near or far, with Pokemon-Related Cutie Marks. Essentially, those that become derivatives of your Cutie Mark will manifest into this Dream."
"A dream...Premonition...?" Stella questioned, thinking about what was going on.
"Correct."
"So these ponies here are..." Stella looked around. "Are from the future."
"They are." Luna nodded. "There's a multitude of futures for Equestria, and I'd say a good majority of them will have their Cutie Mark as a Pokemon-Related one. But for you to have this dream so quickly, especially since it hasn't been that long since you've got your Cutie Mark means that this is a Dream that your subconscious didn't make. Your Cutie Mark is intervening to show you this."
"Woah..." That blew Stella's mind, not believing her ears. So many Ponies out there, each one unique and each one different, having her Cutie Mark, the mark that she worked so hard to gain. To think there were so many possibilities out there, all thanks to her one-of-a kind mark. It was truly incredible. "So, it's a good dream, right?"
"Depends. You were intimidated by them because your body reacted to danger. As bountiful as the future of Pokemon-related Cutie Marks is, you can imagine there are dangerous individuals that could gain them as well. They may not look the part, but there will be some that can bring calamity to Equestria and beyond."
"A-Ah. I guess I should've thought of that." Stella scratched her mane. "At least my Cutie Mark's showing me this. But what does showing me a dream have to do with Pokemon? How does that even work?"
"It's simple. Here's something interesting. My sister and I...our Cutie Marks fall into the same category as yours. Or at least, close to it." Luna winked.
"Wait, really?! Your Cutie Marks are the first of their kind?!" Stella let out a prolonged gasp.
"Close. They are the second of their kind. Our parents, Sunrise and Eventide had the first Sun and Moon Cutie Marks ever. And after we were born we gained the second generation of them and from that point on, the Magical Landscape changed greatly. Multiple Sun and Moon-related Cutie Marks would soon come into existence and now you see ponies with those very marks. They're all descendants of ours." Luna explained. "It's similar with yours. And because of this, you're naturally gifted."
"Naturally gifted, how?"
"Celestia and I are prodigies since our Cutie Marks came from our parents. We are naturally gifted at magic. Since you have the first Pokemon Cutie Mark, your mark can do amazing things that you yourself cannot do willingly. Not yet at least. That is how it made you see this dream. You have a great magical pool within you as well. Just like my sister and I."
It was all making more and more sense to Stella as Luna kept teaching her. She soon learned that her magical potential was now great, even though she was not a unicorn, who are most known for their magical potential. Being an Earth Pony meant no horn to shoot magic from, but that did not mean she couldn't use it.
"I believe that my sister and I will have to eventually show you the real source of it all for you to better grasp this in the future. But I suppose we can do it now since this is a dream. I can show you the Primordial Magic."
"Primordial Magic?"
Luna smiled. Using her own thoughts since she was in a dream, she began to change the landscape, shifting it to what would apparently be the source of where all the magic they know comes from. The scenery changed, with Stella Bloom and Luna being in a massive grassland with a lake of water, a strange blue-white glow coming from the centre of it.
"What is this place?" Stella Bloom asked, the two slowly walking towards the water, the lake being incredibly clean.
"This is the Source of Primordial Magic." Luna declared. "The Source of all the magic. Not just ours, but the magic that's been gifted to all. From ponies, dragons, vampires, changelings, griffons and so on. Obviously, this is but a mock-up of where the Primordial Magic was said to have originated. A grassland located in the center of the universe."
"Oh...Wow. It all started here? All Magic?" Stella approached the beautiful water, looking down into it, seeing the glowing blue and white. It was beautiful, like a sea of stars, and she couldn't look away from it. She reached her hoof into the water, touching it, the glow moving to her hoof, and her mane glowing with it, as if her hair absorbed some of the magical power. "Oh...! Wow!"
"Bulba!" Bulbasaur would do the same, putting his vine into the water to feel the beautiful glow within him. "Saur..."
"This is what our magical powers are based off of. Even now, our magic has not diminished in the slightest, and has continued to grow. With each passing year, our magic is evolving. The Magic you see here is the same magic that exists throughout Equestria, and through all corners of the world, across the dimensions. The world's Magic, which was first created in this place, has spread out over time, and has evolved as well, changing to suit the environment and the people and Pokemon using it. The Magic that has spread all across the universe was once right here, and is the original Magic. The most pure, raw, and primal form of magic there is."
"Incredible..." Stella couldn't help but stare, her heart racing with excitement, her mane and tail all glowing, and the rest of her body as well.
"As for your new talent, it's important to learn about the Primordial Magic. Anypony who gains a one-of-a-kind Cutie Mark that will shape the future must always be taught about the Primordial Magic. It is a crucial step, and one you must always take if you wish to be a strong, wise, and dependable pony. It will be a slow process, and the fact that this has only happened once makes this all the more significant. So, we will have you visit Canterlot Castle with Celestia and myself every weekend. Does that sound okay with you, dear Stella?"
Stella was already excited for the future lessons. To be able to study something so beautiful, magical and amazing was enough to motivate her even more. She felt as if she would be the best student there was, and she would take these lessons very seriously. "Yes! Absolutely, Princess Luna!" She bowed to her, and Bulbasaur would follow, his little eyes looking at her.
"Wonderful." Luna smiled, pleased with the enthusiasm. She knew it was going to take a long time before the true extent of her potential would be realized, but there was a chance she might have some innate potential and would learn quickly. However, she needed to take the lessons seriously, and Luna would be there to remind her that should her focus waver.
Thus, Luna left Stella to dream peacefully, the princess returning to the real world. She had quite a lot to look forward to in the future. She could fear the future based on what individuals might gain Pokemon-related Cutie Marks, or even be excited for the good it would bring. Only time will tell as the journey continues.
