My Little Pokémon: Grander World
After 3 Weeks! Grand Festival Fears
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEquestria. Ponyville. Nightfall.
After returning from the Primordial Magic, Ash, Twilight and Stella are shocked to find out that they had been gone for 3 weeks. 3 weeks have passed since Ash, Twilight Sparkle and Stella Bloom went to the Primordial Magic. Upon returning to Earth, they found out that time moves differently in the Primordial Magic's location. 3 whole weeks have come and gone, meaning many were waiting for them for that long.
And with those 3 weeks, Ash and Twilight discovered that their friends had travelled to other universes just to ensure Ash's safety, tracking down Red and the other. Ash and Twilight were currently at the Carousel Boutique, learning about this.
"To be honest, I'm more glad that you came back!" Sweetie Belle said with great relief. "Rarity and the others are gonna love this!"
"But...what else happened in those past 3 weeks?" Twilight asked, wanting to catch up right away. A lot can happen in 3 weeks after all.
"Let's see. Well, after two days, everypony started to worry, including me. We were afraid you wouldn't come back, but we didn't think something bad happened to you, Ash." Sweetie Belle explained. "I haven't seen Rarity for a while since she left with Applejack and the others. Jade's come over to take care of me while she's been gone and sometimes Big Mac. But I guess...I don't really know what else has happened. I just stayed here."
"I see." Twilight nodded in understanding. Sweetie Belle wouldn't have the full scope of the entire 3 weeks. It was best to ask everyone else.
"Ah! But if it interests you enough, the Grand Festival's almost here. We're almost out of this month, which means pretty soon, I'll get to be in the Grand Festival and become a Top Coordinator!" She pranced up and down with absolute glee, waiting dearly for that moment.
"It's nearby? Great!" Ash exclaimed, pumping his fist. "You got your dress ready and everything?!"
"Mhm! Rarity made me a new dress just for the Grand Festival! Take a look!" Sweetie Belle galloped over to a mannequin that was covered by a sheet. With the pull of the sheet, it revealed the beautiful dress she was talking about. A blue dress that sparkled as the light bounced off of the gems on the dress. The patterns of the gems would form a design that was the image of a Pokemon. More specifically, the image of Sweetie Belle's Meowstic.
"Aah...! It's beautiful!" Twilight gushed as she and Ash were both entranced by the beautiful dress. Rarity truly did a magnificent job with it. This would be Sweetie Belle's ultimate dress for the Grand Festival, where she and her Pokemon will perform at their best.
"I love it so much." Sweetie Belle placed her hoof on the fabric before lowering her head. "But...I'm also really nervous about this. I didn't think I'd get enough ribbons to make it to the Grand Festival, let alone pass the Contest Qualifier and make it this far. I don't want to let anyone down. Especially not my Pokemon. They're counting on me."
"Hey, hey, hey. Don't say stuff like that. You're not gonna let any of us down, no matter what happens." Ash reassured Sweetie Belle, getting on one knee to look her in the eye. "We all know you're an awesome coordinator and you're gonna show everyone there what you can do."
"Ash..." Sweetie Bele's eyes were alit with stars and glee when hearing that. Ash's words really struck her heart and made her smile. She was so happy to hear this and was filled with a renewed confidence. She nodded, her mane swaying in the process. "Right. I'm gonna give it my all and do the best that I can! Thank you so much, Ash! You too, Twilight!"
"No problem!" Ash would hold his fist out, prompting Sweetie Belle to bump her hoof against his fist. They both exchanged a grin as they did.
"You're pretty positive for someone who almost had his body ripped apart." Twilight nudged Ash's shoulder, getting his attention.
"Hey, c'mon, it wasn't so bad." Ash lightly scoffed. "My soul's just fine and that's all that matters. The other me's are safe too, and I can't imagine they'd go down so easily."
"That's true. Since you're all one in the same, it's going to be an insane struggle from start to finish." Twilight sighed. "Anyways, I should probably check up on the Pokemon School. As the Principal, I should make up for my absence these past 3 weeks. There's other stuff I need to check out that I might've missed out on."
"Oh!" Sweetie Belle perkd up. "About the Pokemon School. Um..."
"...What happened?" Twilight shuddered. What happened to the Pokemon School while she was gone? Or in this case, what did the students get up to while she was gone?
Canterlot. The Pokemon School. Day.
As the night passed, morning arrived the next day. Twilight would be back at the Pokemon School, and the students were more than excited to see her return. After getting the details from Sweetie Belle, Twilight went to check up on her school. And once she got there, she saw the absolute chaos that ensued in her absence.
The school was an absolute mess, the classroom was destroyed, and all the students were covered in dirt, electricity, grass, Fairy Magic and scratches. There were even Pokemon in the same situation. Some were fainted while others were awake. An assortment of items were scattered around the room, indicating a battle happened here. An in another classroom. And in the next classroom. Battles happened everywhere in this school.
But more importantly, the teachers had been strung up. Currently tied by her hoof and dangling on the ceiling was Potion Nova.
"Ah. Twilight. You're back." Potion Nova spoke to her, but her tone sounded unamused and exhausted. Her fur was a bit tattered from her current situation.
"Oh my gosh, Nova! Are you okay?! Why are you like this?!" Twilight used her magic to free her, making Potion Nova fall down. She groaned upon hitting the ground, but she was relieved to be out of her confinement.
"The students took the school in their own claws, hooves and hands while you were gone." Potion Nova said. "It was all going well for 4 days without you. We figured that we could manage. But during one of the classes, something went wrong while making a potion. It wouldn't been the usual accident as always, but Smolder went into your office to grab a Rift Potions to sort the problem."
"She found my cabinet of Rift Potions?!" Twilight's jaw dropped. All that Rift Magic had been used in her absence and now it's clear that the usage of it led to this absolute chaos.
"Next thing I know, the students take over the school, outside help is impossible to reach and right now, they even have their own hierarchy." Creative little fellas, aren't they?" Potion Nova chuckled nervously, sweating bullets.
"Hah...I'll take care of it." Twilight lowered her head, sighing. This is going to be a problem.
She appeared in the hallway, seeing what has become of it. It was absolutely a mess, looking like an earthquake went through here. Many Pokemon were scattered on the floor, most were awake and moving. Each of them were tired or dazed. There were many signs of destruction. From Pokemon attacks and objects scattered around. Twilight also noticed that all the Cutie Marks on the Pokemon were gone, meaning that the Antibodies' test had come to an end. Her own Espeon no longer had her Cutie Mark as well either.
On top of that, a bunch of food had been spread out, showing that the students ate to their hearts' content as well. Naturally, this left some of the ill and on the floor, groaning.
In the distance, the sounds of the other students yelling and laughing could be heard, confirming that the chaos hadn't ended yet. Twilight had a lot of work on her hooves for this one.
"Alright. First, a quick cleanup." She looked over at Espeon before throwing two Poke Balls out, bringing Cinccino and Ninetales into the mix.
"Cinccino!"
"Ninetales!"
"Eve. Minccy. Ninetales. We're gonna clear everything up until it's spic and span. We can't have the place in this condition for three whole weeks. There's a lot catching up we need to do so let's get to it."
"Cinccino!" This was up Cinccino's alley. She loved to keep things as neat as possible, so despite this being a lot of work, she was more than eager to clean everything up. Thus, they spread out, getting to work.
"Nine!" Starting off, Ninetales used Extrasensory to grab hold of a few items, lifting them into the air. With Cinccino using Tri Blast to ensure that some of the items were frozen, Ninetales followed up with Flamethrower, heating the block of items up, causing the block to melt and evaporate into the air.
While they did that, Espeon used Psychic to levitate more items into the air before using Shadow Ball. Her psychic powers kept the ball of shadows from touching the items as she shot it at the objects, blowing them away in an explosion, causing the items to scatter about.
Meanwhile, Twilight was able to levitate more items with her magic and threw them aside, keeping the area clear and organized. She then levitated some food off the ground and tossed them into a tiny pocket space made out of Rift Magic, causing it to dissolve into nothing, removing it from existence.
"Cin!" Cinccino used her scarf and tail to sweep the floor, picking up dirt, debris, food and whatever else was on the floor. Ninetales would help out by using Flamethrower to vaporize the dirt that Cinccino collected, causing it to disappear.
"Eon..." Espeon would use her telekinetic powers to levitate some objects that were too high for her, and toss them into the air before unleashing a wave of Psychic energy. She would even spice it up and use Dazzling Gleam sometimes. The wave would explode, turning the items to ash and dust, causing the objects to disappear.
The group was able to get rid of most of the items on the floor and walls in an instant. They were truly efficient at what they do, already making parts of the school smooth and clean.
"Let's see." Twilight nodded, pleased with the results. "Next, we'll-" It was only a matter of time until she ran into some of the students, especially in a wild situation. Bursting through the walls a yak who went tumbling, wearing a bunch of plastic items that appeared to be some type of armor, and a cape, and a sword and a shield, the yak tumbled on the floor before rolling into the wall, hitting his head.
"Ough...!"
"Are you alright?!" Twilight ran over to the dazed student as an array of Pokemon suddenly flew out of the broken wall, the chaos finally reaching Twilight's eyes. They rolled across the hallway, some bouncing, sliding or landing on their feet.
Twilight then looked onwards to then see the students all in a scuffle, fighting over something. From the looks of it, it appeared to be another Rift Pootion. A rather big one. One that could be dangerous if not used right.
"That's enough!" She called out, getting their attention. Their faces were hidden under their armor, which consisted of trash and whatever else could fit. Silence filled the area as they all looked over at the Principal, their jaws and beaks dropping now that she's returned.
Twilight looked at them all with lidded eyes, unsurprised that this happened, but still rather disappointed that they would let it get this out of control so quickly. The students let out sheepish grins, knowing what was coming next. But Twilight had to be ready for whoever made this hierarchy in the first place.
Manehattan.
Over at Manehattan, Sweetie Belle didn't head to school today, skipping out for this one. Right now, she was at, thinking about the upcoming Grand Festival. Taking care of her this time was Big Mac, the red stallion watching her while doing some shopping for the day.
As Sweetie Belle pondered, standing near the large lake of the city, she picked up a pebble with her magic, skipping it along the lake's surface.
She took in Ash's words and will hold true to them, like she always has. As the pebble skipped along, prompting a Mantine to jump out and tackle it into the air, somepony approached Sweetie Belle, spotting and recognizing her.
"Sweetie Belle? Is that you?" The voice spoke to her. As she turned around, she saw that it was another coordinator such as herself. Or rather, two of them. Gelidity and Velvetwind.
"Whoa! Velvetwind! Gelidity! It's great to see you!" Sweetie Belle was quite happy to see her fellow friends. "How long has it been?!"
"Months. I haven't been keeping track. Are you here to do shopping too? The Grand Festival is nearby and Gelidity here's looking for something new." Velvetwind explained.
"I mean, I'm not surprised you made it in Gelidity." To Sweetie Belle, it only felt natural that Gelidity was eligble to enter the Grand Festival. She was a prodigy after all. "But what about you, Velvetwind?"
"Mm. I didn't get enough ribbons. I only got up to 4." She explained, a bit saddened by that fact, but keeping a smile. "It doesn't bother me all that much though. Especially since I know I'll always have another chance. It's been a while since we've met each other since I never show up at any Contest Halls you two are in."
"I guess so." Sweetie Belle nodded. "I wish you did make it in to the Grand Festival though...You could've done great."
"It's not a big deal. There's no point in trying to get upset over it." She assured her. "I'll be happy knowing the two of you are going to be in it. I'll be rooting for you both."
"Sweetie Belle. Seeing you again is nice." Gelidity spoke in her usual manner of speaking. "My Friend. Velvetwind has been watching me work. But I'm nervous right now." Even Gelidity, this prodigy at Pokemon Contests was feeling the pressure. "They're out there. So many good Coodinators. I'm sure somepony else is better than me. It makes me question myself."
"She's just spooked that she'll meet better coordinators at the Grand Festival. And I don't blame her." Velvetwind shrugged while shaking her head. "I'd be intimidated too. Geldity doesn't really fall behind others. I think the last pony she lost to was Diamond Tiara, wasn't it? But that was the first loss. Either way, she's an absolute pro! So I have no doubt she'll intimidate everyone else instead!"
"Stop it..." Gelidity felt embarrassed by these compliments, rubbing the back of her hair. "Sweetie Belle. We'll go against each other. For the last time." Gelidity believed that Sweetie Belle would make it far enough to go up against her once more. "Are you nervous too? Friend?"
"I am. More than I've ever been." Sweetie Belle admitted. "But excited too. And yet...there's something that's been coming to mind recently for me...What next?"
"Hm? What do you mean?" Velvetwind questioned.
"I mean...after the Grand Festival, if either Gelidity and I win...what do we do next? This whole time we've been focusing on becoming Top Coordinators, but after the Grand Festival, will that be the end?"
"Well, I said it already. There's always another chance. So if you don't win it, you can just try again. But if either one of you do make it...I guess you can do what Dawn or Fantina do. Just keep doing it." Velvetwind pointed out. "Unless you don't wanna keep doing it?"
"I guess because Dawn and Fantina grew up in a world where Pokemon Contests were always around." Sweetie Belle looked back at the vast lake. "For us, Contests are still new and this will be Equestria's first ever Grand Festival. After this, I guess everypony else will keep on going to become better coordinators. To be honest, I thought about this a while ago and...I wasn't sure if I'd still be a Top Coordinator afterwards. It's why I was so nervous about the Grand Festival, but when I think about it now, there's so many others who might be nervous like me."
"Yes." Gelidity nodded, understanding her worry. "I entered the contest for a reason. Back home...There's not much to do. But when Pokemon came, I was happy. Because we all get to do something together." She held her hooves close, feeling nostalgic. "My friends are my family. It's why we all work hard. But the reason I'm in a Contest is because I wanted to bring my friends and family a little happiness to my home."
"You see? There's no need to worry about anything. If you do well, then it's all worth it." Velvetwind reminded her, putting a hoof around her neck. "So stop stressing yourself out and keep moving forward."
"You're right. It's not like it's the end or something. I'll be able to keep doing what I love. And my Pokemon love Contests just as much as I do. But I didn't think you'd be the type to talk like that, Velvetwind. All motivational and everything."
"Hm-hm. A lot can happen in a few months. Or I guess 2 years technically." Velvetwind proudly held her head up high, puffing her chest out. "Besides, I'll be the first one cheering the loudest when you win. Both of you. You both are going to pull this off."
"Thank you." Gelidly lightly chuckled. "Well. We should be going now. We have to get home after all the shopping."
"That's true. We'll meet each other again soon. Maybe in the Grand Festival. So we'll see each other there." Sweetie Belle smiled. The two will definitely see each other at the Grand Festival, where Equestria's first-ever Top Coordinator will be crowned. All the while, Sweetie Belle looked out into the distance, waiting for her sister to come back from either one of the universes she's in, hoping and knowing she'll be there on time.
As the journey continues.
