Equestria. Ponyville. Day.

"Ash! Twilight! Pikachu! Eve!" Crying out their names were Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, who were over the moon to see their four friends back from the Primordial Magic after being gone for 3 weeks. The girls were ecstatic, running over to see their three friends.

"You came back! Those past 3 weeks were terrifying to us!" Rarity said, rushing over to see them.

"We're so glad you're back!" Pinkie Pie cheered, jumping around.

"Yeah. We didn't think that it was 3 weeks. Sure didn't feel like it." Ash grinned, happy to see them as well. Twilight smiled and nodded in agreement. It had been so long since the three of them had last seen the others. And for the past 3 weeks, the others were so concerned, wondering what had become of their friends.

"Sorry that we had you all worried. But it looks like a lot happened while we were gone." said Twilight. "Aside from the smaller things like what happened with the Pokemon School, even bigger things happened elsewhere. I've...yet to catch up on all of them though."

"We're just relieved that you're here!" Fluttershy held Pikachu. "We even travelled to other universes just to make sure Ash would be safe in the future. We're still on that actually."

"Mhm. So far, only managed to get Red on board. I mean...he was always gonna be on board anyway." Rainbow Dash shrugged. "Now we just got 8 more of your counterparts to talk to. How did it go with the Antibodies, by the way?"

"The Primordial Magic and the Antibodies let us go and are letting us have our chance. But at the same time, they'll come to Earth here and there. So we have to do what we can as soon as possible to ever stop Prisma from returning, otherwise the Antibodies will take matters in their own hands."

"Great! 'Cause, we were already thinking of heading to the next universe pretty soon! This time, we're gonna try and find Ethan, Brendan or whoever!" Rainbow Dash flew over. "We've been on a bit of a Universal Field Trip, ya now."

"Well, obviously we're not going now. I have to get ready to see Sweetie Belle's first-ever Grand Festival soon." Rarity added on. "It's only a week away, or even a few days, I believe." She smiled at the thought of it, already imagining her sister doing her best on stage in front of many.

"So soon? Oh, I bet she's beyond excited." Twilight said.

"Oh, she definitely is. I'm so proud of my sister." Rarity was practically bursting with joy. "Ah...to see her perform at her best. That will be bliss. Truly."

"Meanwhile I'm over here waiting for the Equestria League to begin. I've already got all eight badges and stuff." Rainbow Dash stretched out her body, ready for action. "I could also just finish the Battle Frontier while I wait. I've only beaten two Frontier Brains so far though..." Rainbow Dash shrugged.

"We're not really doing anything too important." As for Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, they weren't in a hurry for anything at all. Since they don't partake in Pokemon Leagues or Contests, they had a ton of free time. Technically, Fluttershy is always occupied due to taking care of the Pokemon and animals and both Pinkie and Applejack do still have their regular work.

"But we'll definitely come along to see your sister at the Festival!" Fluttershy nodded to this.

"Absolutely!" Pinkie Pie bounced. "We'll totally see the performance and we're totally gonna love every second of it!" Pinkie Pie was practically bouncing off the walls. The thought of seeing Sweetie Belle and her performance on stage was enough to make the Party Pokemon lose it. "It's gonna be super exciting!" She bounced up and down and up and down and up and down.

"Right! So...for this week, it'll just be the usual stuff until we leave, I guess?" Ash said, looking around to the rest of the group. "I had to rank back up after I was gone for 3 weeks. Had to battle a ton of trainers."

"I've got a ton of orders to finish up, actually!" Pinkie Pie recalled, zooming off to where she had left the dresses and other clothing she was working on. "There's also a few cakes I have to bake and finish and...other stuff I need to get done!"

"So it'll be another normal week." Twilight chuckled, seeing everyone return to what they had been doing beforehand. While she was happy to have the normal life back for at least a week, the Grand Festival was on her mind, as well as the thought of having to travel through more universes.

But for the moment, Twilight decided to focus on the Festival, which was only a week away. Or perhaps a few days. Sweetie Belle and the others have been practicing so hard to make sure everything was absolutely perfect for her.

Sweetie Belle, who was already excited beyond words, couldn't help but practice as much as possible in the background. With only one week and a few days to spare, she had to make sure her Pokemon were at their best. Plusle, Minun and Meowstic could be seen sitting outside with her in the backyard. "Ok, you three! I think we should try it once again. We can't fail! I won't let that happen. Are we all ready?!" Sweetie Belle asked.

"Plusle! Plus!" Plusle jumped around.

"Meeeowstic! Stic!" Meowstic jumped high into the air, using the thick masses of Psyshock to keep her suspended in the air, making them solid platforms for Plusle. The Cheering Pokemon would leap onto them, jumping higher and higher. As Plusle leapt into the sky, she summoned a massive blue orb of electricity.

"Minun! Nuuun!" As Minun watched his sister jump through the air, he did his own thing. The Cheering Pokemon summoned his own electrical orb that grew bigger by the second, until it became a massive sphere of blue lightning, sparking wildly.

"Meee! Meeee!" As Plusle reached the top, Meowstic's Psyshock faded. But Plusle kept herself up by using Electro Ball. Her momentum was enough to propel Plusle into the sky, and when she was high enough, the Electric Orb exploded, creating a shower of sparks.

"Miii!" Minun's attack was thrown into the sky as Plusle was, the sphere exploding and creating another shower of electricity.

"Meow." When Plusle began falling to the ground, Meowstic summoned her Psychic powers once again, using Psyshock to form platforms that she would safely land on.

"Great job, Meowstic! Now let's try this!" Sweetie Belle's eyes lit up. She was more excited than ever. She had an amazing idea. She wanted to see how far they could take their new trick. So, she turned her gaze to her brother and sister Pokemon. "Plusle, Minun, get ready to jump on the platform Meowstic makes for you both! And then we can try the next trick!" Sweetie Belle clapped her hooves together, unable to wait any longer.

"Meow! Meeee!" As Sweetie Belle cheered on the side of the backyard, Meowstic summoned her powers. In the sky, the thick, dark masses of energy that were shaped like cubes began to appear. The two Cheering Pokemon looked up at them, ready to leap up to the top.

"Plus! Le! Plusle!" The two siblings were getting ready for their big leap. They looked to one another and then nodded, before jumping high up into the sky. "PLUSLE!"

"MIIII!"

Plusle and Minun leapt onto the mass of energy, pushing off of it and jumping onto the next one. As they did that, they summoned a large amount of electricity. As the two leapt to the next platform, they unleashed an immense electrical blast that hit the ground, leaving a large crater.

"Alright! That's great, guys!" Sweetie Belle shouted, smiling widely as she watched the two siblings continue to leap to each of the masses of Psyshock in the air, jumping to each one with a lot of power. "Meowstic! Make some more!" The young girl exclaimed, watching as Meowstic did her part to make the next part of the performance happen. As Meowstic continued making platforms for the Cheering Pokemon to jump on, Plusle and Minun were getting ready for the next part. Plusle was getting ready to unleash her next attack.

"Pluuusle! Plus! Pluuuuusle!" As she continued to leap higher into the air with each passing moment, she unleashed the electric attack she had been preparing for, firing off several orbs of crackling electricity. Minun, on the other hand, had a different plan in mind. He began to summon a large amount of lightning around him.

As he leapt up to the next mass, the sparks around him were starting to get stronger, the light they emitted growing more powerful. As the two Cheering Pokemon continued to leap from the platforms, Minun unleashed a huge surge of electricity, sending the blue lightning everywhere, causing the whole small area to be illuminated by the electrical glow. "Minun!"

"Hm." The nearby residents took a peek at Sweetie Belle's practice session from afar, seeing the lights flashing in the distance.

"Alright, you three!" She exclaimed, her eyes shining. "Let's finish it!" The young filly shouted out, seeing Plusle and Minun jump high into the sky, leaping off of Meowstic's Psyshock.

"Meow!" Meowstic delivered the final act, having Plusle and Minun jump high into the air and then plummeting to the ground, landing safely as she caught them both with Psyshock, bringing them back down safely.

"Plus!" The three Pokemon were finished with their training session. The pratice performance had ended. Now, it was just up to the Grand Festival itself.

"Great, great!" Sweetie Belle cheered. "We'll definitely do this at the Festival!" The young girl smiled brightly. She couldn't help but smile. She was beyond excited. After all, it was her very first Festival. She couldn't contain the excitement. "Oh, this is gonna be so good. I can't wait!" The girl said, smiling. She then turned to Meowstic. "And you, Meowstic. I know you'll be ready to show off what you're capable of as well, right?!"

"Meow!" Meowstic confidently flipped her ears, feeling that the Grand Festival would go off without a hitch. With the Festival approaching in a few days, she'd make sure she and her trainer would do great.

Beyond Equestria. Seaquestria.

Due to the Grand Festival being the sister event of the Pokemon League, all coordinators that had enough ribbons and were eligible to enter were fine-tuning their own skills to the absolute best. before the fateful day. The day where the best of the best in a region would compete to see who would be the Top Coordinator of a region. The Grand Festival was like the Pokemon League to them so they had to be at their peak.

For Sweetie Belle, it was something that had to be absolutely perfect. She had practiced day in, day out for this special day. It was the one day she needed to shine.

Over at Seaquestria, Queen Novo, who had recently gotten into Pokemon Contests as a rookie, held up a newspaper that told her about how the Grand Festival was near. Oh, how she wished to be a part of it.

"If only I had gotten into Contests sooner..." She pouted. But she couldn't help but be happy as she would be able to see what a Pokemon Contest looks like at its best. While she wouldn't get to join this one, once it's over, she can continue working to improve as a new coordinator, so that one day, when the 2nd Grand Festival appears, or even the ones after that, she'd be more than ready to participate in it. But at least she could watch the one going on soon.

Johto.

A day later, and the time was drawing near for the Grand Festival. Only 5 more days to go until it arrived. This meant that it was only a short time before all of the competitors were set to take part.

And all the way over at the Johto Region, May was holding up a newspaper that informed others of this coming Grand Festival

"So, a few days left, huh?" May was reading the paper. "I've been waiting to see this one. It'll be just like when I got to witness a Grand Festival for the first time. All fresh and new." The young coordinator said.

"Blazi." Blaziken agreed. "Ken!"

"In just 4 years too...Actually...I think the 5th year's getting close, isn't it? Soon, it'll be 5 years since our worlds have crossed over." She had been a coordinator for that long now. In that span of time, she had gotten far. She and her team of Pokemon had made a name for herself and only aimed to get better from that point.

Unova.

Not just her, but so does Dawn.

Currently, she was in Unova, holding the newspaper as well. She too was informed of the coming event. Since she was a type of mentor figure to Sweetie Belle, seeing how close this was and knowing that Sweetie Belle was eligible to enter the Grand Festival had her feeling so many emotions at once. Excitement, anticipation, happiness and joy, as well as pride. To see Sweetie Belle go through so much to reach this point, Dawn couldn't help but want to see it with her own two eyes.

"Mm...I can delay a few things. I've gotta be there for this." Dawn had her eyes locked on the paper. "There's no way that I'd miss it. I'd never forgive myself if I did."

"Pip." Piplup stood by Dawn, looking over the paper with a big smile. "Lup! Piplup!" The Pokemon was excited to go too, wanting to see Sweetie Belle's first Grand Festival as well. Dawn had been mentoring the young filly and her friends in the world of Contests, and to see the young filly now ready for the Grand Festival, it filled both with excitement.

Sinnoh.

Another day had passed, and the countdown continued.

Only 4 days remained. The Festival would arrive in a few short days. It'd only be a short amount of time before all the coordinators were set to take part. Over in Sinnoh, Zoey was already planning on what to do, having been informed of this event. As a Top Coordinator, it's expected that she'd at least see this. She's even won a Festival in her career.

"Only a few days away." She read the newspaper, her Glameow standing by her side. She hadn't entered one of these events in a long time, and to think one is so close by, she'd have to see it for herself. It would be an exciting and interesting experience.

Equestria. Saddle Lake.

Another day came and went. And back at Equestria, Diamond Tiara, another coordinator who accumulated enough ribbons was sitting next to her Liepard, viewing the ribbons she's obtained. And much like many of the eligible coordinators, Diamond Tiara was nervous. Beyond nervous. Her usual proud and confident disposition had been swapped out for an anxious and uncertain disposition. It was almost unlike her to act in such a way.

"Just a few days left..." She nervously said, being present at Saddle Lake. She sat by herself. "This isn't like all those contests in different places we did. This is the real thing. Hehe..." Diamond Tiara laughed awkwardly as she stared at her Ribbons.

"Lie..."

"Hey! You're also nervous too!" She pouted at her partner. She didn't know if she should feel happy or scared. "You're just good at hiding it. I'm not. I'll be honest and say that I'm good at a lot of things."

"Liepard." She rolled her eyes.

"Well, it's true to an extent. But this...I haven't been afraid of failing something in a long time now. This Grand Festival is a big thing, though. I'm going up against all kinds of other coordinators. Some who are just like me, and others who have more experience." Diamond Tiara had a lot going through her mind at the moment. "I'm just a little worried that we won't win.

"Lie? Liepard?"

"No. My mom and I patched things up. Recently, we've been getting closer and that makes me all the more happy. If this was in the past, she'd be so disappointed in me if I end up losing this thing." The Coordinator shook her head. "This time, I'm afraid I'll let myself down instead of my mom."

"Lie..." Liepard knew what her trainer meant. Diamond Tiara was worried about not winning the Festival.

"Are you scared too?" A voice spoke to her from behind, startling the young earth pony. Right behind her was Sweetie Belle, who had shown up with her Prinplup. She looked at the earth pony.

"Oh, it's you." Diamond Tiara sighed, calming herself. "Well...I'm a bit scared. Just a little."

"You are? That's unlike you. You were always the one that's so proud of herself." Sweetie Belle walked to the other. She sat right next to the other.

"It's only because it's a big event, alright? That's all. And you? Are you afraid?" Diamond Tiara wanted to change the topic to her.

"Very. I'm terrified!" Sweetie Belle admitted, not wanting to hide anything at all. "I've never competed at the Festival before. I don't know what it's going to be like. I had to with Gelidity a few days back and she's just as terrified as me and you. We're all terrified. Then again, we're all just kids at the end of the day, right?"

"I'd like to feel like I'm older than I am." Diamond Tiara looked to the side. "But I'm not. We're not. It's just natural, I guess. But unlike everything else in my life, this is the one thing I don't want to fail at."

"None of us do. We've come a long way in just 4 years and who knows what it'll be like on our 5th, 6th and so on. Dawn and Fantina told me one thing to always think about with contests. Just have fun. If I'm not enjoying myself at the Grand Festival, then what's the point?"

"Just have fun?" Diamond Tiara repeated. She thought about that for a bit. It sounded so easy and yet it wasn't. "Yeah, I'm sure I'll do just that." She didn't believe it, though. The thought of failing in a place where all eyes were on her was just too much. However, if she could win, then that could change. "I'll try to have fun. And from it, I'll be the winner. Not you."

"Hey!" Sweetie Belle yelled while Diamond Tiara snickered.

The duo would chat a bit at Saddle Lake along with their Pokemon. With the Festival this close to appearing, the important that they and by extension, everyone else would follow is to have fun. Win or lose. For most though, it's all about winning as the journey continues.
