Equestria. Las Pegasus. The Grand Festival. Day.

The Grand Festival continues, finally entering its battle stage. The first match was Sweetie Belle vs Premium Polish and so far, Premium had the advantage, restraining Sweetie Belle's Pokemon. Masquerain had stunned Meowstic by making the eye pattern on her wings match the former Lich Queen Rosa Maledicta's face while Flareon had a metal-coated body, using that weight to pin down Prinplup.

"You're doing great, Premium!" Skyblue called, proud of her daughter. Premium smiled back at her mom, winking as she knew what she was going to do.

"Push up, Prinplup!"

"Prin...Prinplup...!" Straining himself, Prinplup tried to get Flareon off his back, the pressure he felt on him increasing as he was unable to get the fiery Pokemon off him. He tried and tried but it was of no use. Flareon made sure to stay directly there with no sign of removing himself.

"Now's my chance! Alright, Masquerain! Use Psybeam!"

"Mas! Masque...!" Spinning in the air while both her opponents were restrained, Masquerain unleashed a powerful rainbow-coloured beam straight at Flareon and Prinplup. Flareon gladly took the attack, letting his metal-coated body reflect the beam while Prinplup took damage, the colours shining through the entire stadium.

"Prinplup! Use Aerial Ace on the floor!

"Pri...!" To get himself up while the Psybeam poured onto his body, Prinplup's flippers were moving at high speeds, vibrating as this caused Flareon's balance to be disrupted.

"F-Flare?!" As the attack went off, Prinplup managed to break free of Flareon's hold and fly into the air. Now he was in the sky while Masquerain flew over. "Flare!" He would try and run back to his trainer to avoid being attacked once more, descending near Sweetie Belle. As for Meostic, she shook her head, quickly scurrying to Prinplup's side.

"All that caught us by surprise, but it's fine now." said Sweetie Belle. "We've still got time."

On the board, Sweetie Belle and Premium Polish each lost points due to how each side played, both managing to outperform each other so far. Masquerain flapped her wings constantly, keeping the eye pattern of the Lich Queen on her just as a large intimidation factor. The three of them had 4 minutes left to battle.

"Mm. I was hoping to keep your Pokemon stuck the whole way through. So that I would pull off as many tricks as I could for free." Premium scratched her mane, one part of her plan being negated already. But that didn't matter. She could still do the other part. "But it doesn't matter. Let's keep going. I can do one thing that nopony else can do. All because I'm an android."

"Huh?"

"Watch this! Masquerain! Use Silver Wind on me!"

"M-Masquerain!" With a screech, Masquerain would flap her wings once more, unleashing a silver whirlwind from her wings. The silver tornado would hit Premium Polish dead on. Everyone gasped, thinking she had just given the advantage to Sweetie Belle.

But then, something happened to the android.

Her mane began to rise, the wind being sucked up and entering her mane, causing it to change colour as she would flash a smile. Since her body was a strong metal that allowed the Silver Wind to be absorbed into her mane, her body didn't have a scratch on it, nor did the Silver Wind hurt her. All that energy from the attacked reflected off her metallic body, but that wouldn't be the end of it.

"Pysbeam!"

"Flareon!" Flareon went next, shooting at his trainer. This one didn't reflect, instead, it hit her body directly and her eyes would open wide as it entered through her body. The Psybeam would enter her body and travel all the way through to her mane, changing the colour of it once more.

"She's pulling it all in her?! How?!" Marian was befuddled, completely thrown off by this.

"She was once the conduit for a powerful magical machine. The Magical Unite. Her body can naturally absorb even high levels of energy. It seems that she's managed to use that part of her as a benefit." Celestia explained.

"Hehehe!" Premium Polish giggled. That machine which caused her pain was now being used to make her win this battle. Her horn was glowing, the same glow she used to emit as she would raise her hooves up, charging the attacks up to full capacity. The Silver Wind and Psybeam would fly off her body, shooting off into the air under her own movement as the two attacks would merge together. "Again!"

"Masque!" Masquerain and Flareon used Silver Wind and Psybeam once more, firing them at the merged attack in the air. The attack was being controlled by Premium as it would fly through the air. With that, it absorbed the attacks and grew bigger with even greater colours and flare."Masque!"

Sweetie Belle looked at the screen, seeing that her points were starting to drop rapidly. Premium Polish's unique approach was starting to succeed greatly. It was truly something only she could do. "I need to think fast...I don't think I have something that can outperform that. But I can still win this the usual way."

Sweetie Belle was going for a knockout before the time runs out and Premium's points were starting to fall.

"Masquerain, use Scary Face! Flareon, Copycat!"

With her move copied, Flareon's body began to vibrate rapidly, manipulating the shape of his own fur to the same terrifying eye patterns that resembled the Lich Queen. He looked at the two Pokemon with that terrifying look in his eye, making the both of them tremble once again. "F-Flare!"

"I feel totally unstoppable! Now, go!" Premium Polish exclaimed with glee, bringing the attack down on top of her opponents.

"Use Psyshock!"

"Meow!" Meowstic swallowed her fears, knowing it was just a pattern and not the real deal. She ran forward, putting her arms up and constructing a shield made out of Psychic Energy, the shield resembling a hexagon. She would hold it over her and Prinplup, bracing for the attack to come. "S-S-Stic!" She struggled, trying to hold her own as she tried to stop the merged attack from hitting the both of them.

"Meowstic, hold it there!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed.

The attack was so strong that the force of the collision was sending a powerful gust of wind through the stadium. The force was so strong that the wind pressure pushed back Meowstic and Prinplup. "Stic!" Her legs dragged along the floor and her arms would begin to ache as she held the shield up. Prinplup was right behind her, ready to move whenever she was able to get through this.

"Water Pulse!"

"Prin!" On his flipper, a ball of pulsating water appeared. He tossed the attack over to Meowstic, hoping for her to use her follow-up with it. The Water Pulse landed on one part of the shield as Prinplup fired another one, aiming at his partner.

"Meow...stic!" With a screech, Meowstic's shield changed into the form of a lance made out of Psychic Energy. Water Pulse was being used as the tip of the lance, glowing a brilliant shade of blue as it merged with Meowstic's Psyshock. The lance pierced the attack and broke through it, slicing it in two.

At full force, the Psychic-Water Lance struck Flareon head-on. "Flare...!" Flareon cried out as the lance would instantly carry him through the air, causing him to crash into Masquerain, soon carrying her as well. It went at such a speed that it was impossible to see where the lance went until it reached its final destination, the far wall.

Premium gasped at this as she saw Flareon and Masquerain pinned against the wall. The attack did not fizzle out. Instead, it stayed there, the lance pinning them both there. Premium's points began to drain, just like Sweetie Belle's had.

"She has them both pinned! And that lance keeps pressing forward and spinning!" Marian commentated as the wall behind the duo was starting to tremble and shake, threatening to crumble from the pressure. Premium's points continued to fall as the pressure increased.

"Push back, you two! Quick!" Premium hollered. However, unlike with Prinplup, Flareon couldn't escape from this. It would be hard for them both to even try and push back against this. Masquerain's wings began to flutter rapidly and Flareon's feet started flailing, the two trying to get out of the situation they were put in.

"Finish it! Aerial Ace!"

"Prin!" Prinplup ran forward and started using his flippers like drills, spinning at a great pace as the speed would send gusts of wind through the stadium, making Premium's hair and mane blow. His attack was aimed right at the Psychic-Water Lance, and it would only take a matter of seconds before he would connect with the two Pokemon. If Premium doesn't act quick, she'd be in big trouble.

"Flareon, use Overheat!"

"Flare...Flare..." Gritting his teeth, Flareon let out a mighty cry, opening his mouth wide as a large stream of flames poured out. These flames were the strongest attack he had and they were coming straight for Prinplup. His flippers began spinning faster as the two attacks were coming in closer to one another. "Flareon!"

The lance that was holding Masquerain and Flareon would start to be pushed forward by Overheat, pushing it away from the wall. The Psychic-Water Lance would meet Aerial Ace and the flames would soon reach Prinplup. "Prin...plup!" He was being engulfed in flames as they swirled around his body. However, the speed of Aerial Ace was able to negate most of the fire. The only damage that was being done was from the heat itself.

"Prinplup!" With all of his might, Prinplup cut through the attack, striking Flareon head-on with Aerial Ace while he still had some flames surrounding him, causing a massive explosion as he made contact with the Flame Pokemon.

The force of the explosion caused a huge amount of dust to blow around. Premium and Sweetie Belle covered their eyes to protect them, along with many of the audience. The dust cleared up as the four of them waited for it to clear.

"Masquerain..."

"Flareon..." The two of them were lying on the ground, knocked out. Aerial Ace had managed to do a number on both Pokemon, being the deciding blow, obviously being supported by Water Pulse and Psyshock. The attack was successful. Premium Polish's points went to zero as the time also hit zero.

"And that's the end of the first round of the A Block Contest Battles! Sweetie Belle wins!"

With that Sweetie Belle pulled off a victory, the crowd cheering for this great first battle of the round. Premium smiled and sighed. She knew it wouldn't be an easy victory. But she was not upset whatsoever. Her mother watched her perform, coming all the way here just for that. That was enough to keep her head up. "Oh, well. There's always the second one and the rest. Flareon, Masquerain. Thanks for everything."

"You did great!" Sweetie Belle called over. She ran over to Premium Polish, who did the same as the two hugged. "I got a bit worried, so I decided to go straight for the knockout."

"Heh, you did. You were right. I was hoping that'd catch you off guard with that rick of mine. I mean...I totally did throw you off. Using myself as the trick was nifty, huh?"

"It was...Terrifying." Sweetie Belle admitted.

"Well, this is it for me. I'm glad I made it to one of the rounds either way." Premium said. She waved to the crowd and soon took a bow, knowing her performance was a stellar one, one that the people in attendance will not forget for quite a while. With a wink and a peace sign, Premium soon exited the stage.

With that over with, the other coordinators of the brackets could have their battles, the next round beginning in the A Block. Everyone watched with awe and wonder at all the performances.

Outside, Premium Polish met up with her mother, the android filly running straight to her, almost crashing into Skyblue. The mare chuckled, hugging her daughter and petting her head. "That was amazing. I was so impressed with what you did."

"Really? I was just happy you came to see." Premium said with a smile.

"Well, that's something you don't have to worry about. I was going to come even if you were eliminated at the appeal stage."

"You were...?" Premium's smile grew wider. She was happy that Skyblue was here. It made her feel more confident about the future. She could do this.

"I'm not going anywhere. Not for a while, anyway." Skyblue replied. "Now, why don't you show me around, hm?"

"I'd be more than glad to! Come with me!" She grabbed her hooves, guiding the both of them through the city.

Back at the contest hall, the battles kept going and going, one coordinator after the next was being defeated, and more were winning. The next set of battles in the A Block were underway as everyone watched the screen for matchups once more. After all, they had a little bit of time before the next battles started.

Sweetie Belle managed to get past all those in Block A, working well with her Pokemon to pull off amazing and stunning appeals that left her opponents defeated. It took some time, but eventually, she was able to get to the final part of the block, emerging victorious there as well. Sweetie Belle would officially become one of the final 16 Coordinators later on.

Block B's coordinators went by as well, each round becoming more intense as the time went on, with the next part being the battle of the two blocks to determine the eight who'll advance into the final parts.

In Block C, Gelidity's turn came and she was as impressive as ever, getting through her opponents. Block D was next, but it'd take a bit of time to get through all of Block C, the fights becoming more fierce. Diamond Tiara managed to make into the final 16 over at Block D. By then, Gelidity's battles were done and she became eligible to go on.

After 8 contests in all four blocks had gone up against each other, spanning 11 hours total, the late afternoon had come, meaning the second day was coming to an end. By the time it had come, it was night, and they were exhausted.

Sweetie Belle laid on her back, sinking into the soft bed as she sighed in content. "Ahh...What a day..." Battling through each of those coordinators on her block put her through the wringer, each one getting more and more intense and more and more impressive.

Rarity put a blanket over her little sister, knowing she was out of it. Never before has Sweetie Belle had to deal with so many coordinators on her level. Usually, there would be one or two that she could outperform, but in the Grand Festival, everyone was on her level and the stakes were high. It was a good thing that Sweetie Belle was able to pull through.

Of course, there would be more tomorrow, making this the first time Sweetie Belle would have multiple battles consistently. "Get a good long rest. For your age, you'll need it for the amount of battles that will come your way."

"Yeah. I struggled a lot. Everypony was so good...and to think...I'm gonna be battling way more of them tomorrow." The little unicorn let out a yawn. "I'm asking for all the luck I can get..."

"Mana!" Manaphy would barge into this room just to meet with Sweetie Belle. She leapt off the ground, landing on Sweetie Belle's stomach at full-force, making the unicorn cough and wheeze, the wind being knocked out of her as the little Pokemon landed right on her gut.

"Agh! Ough...! Manaphy..." Sweetie Belle let out another groan, trying to recover from that attack. It wasn't strong enough to hurt her, but she still needed a second to catch her breath. She patted the top of Manaphy's head.

"Now, then. Don't bother her, Manaphy. She needs to rest." Rarity would promptly grab Manaphy with magic, pulling her away as Manaphy pouted. "Get some rest for tomorrow. It's always wonderful to keep the momentum going."

"I won't stop, Rarity..." She rolled over, letting out another yawn. "Just for a few hours." Afterwards, she was out like a light, dozing off. It took her about a few minutes, and she was sleeping peacefully. Her dreams were quite vivid, as she had so much excitement from the day.

Outside the hotel, Dawn, May and Zoey found themselves hanging out with each other for the night, discussing the current Grand Festival. There were many surprises that came along, including Premium Polish's defeat despite putting up an amazing fight.

"I wish I was an android too. The things I'd be able to pull off with my performances!" Zoey said with a smile. "I'd be totally immune to a lot of things that come my way."

"Except Water." May joked. "But if I was an android, I'd do the same. Aside from that, for their first Grand Festival, they've done a lot. All the stuff we've seen is something we had years to work hard on."

"They grow pretty fast, don't they?" Dawn nodded, taking a deep breath. "You could say that they're all prodigies."

"No kidding." Zoey closed her eyes. "It's actually pretty scary how fast they got here. Really, they could've shown off stuff like this last year if the Grand Festival in Equestria didn't take so long to start." She looked to May, wondering. "Are they that good?"

"But of course~" Fantina slid over, startling the three of them with her sudden appearance, as she would appear right in front of them out of nowhere. She put her arms over their shoulders, smirking. "Natural Prodigies, every last one of them! But it only makes sense. They've always had it in them."

"They have?" The trio said in unison.

"Oui. Here's something fun to know. Pegasi seem to be the best at Pokemon Battles because of their history as warriors. Unicorns are the most frequent pony tribe to be found in Pokemon Contests. They have the most grace, elegance, beauty and the ability to make anything they touch sparkle! Just look at their fashion! And as for Earth Ponies, they are skilled at both from the looks of it!"

"Is that really true?" Dawn tilted her head to the side.

"Largely, yes. They've always had this potential in them, and as soon as our worlds met, it was drawn out." Fantina said. She would then twirl her way, spinning to a small fountain and leaping up to it. She stood on top of the fountain, balancing on top of her heels as the water spewed. "The same can be said for you three. You've always had it in you. The three of you have something special in yourselves. But now, you have to bring out even more of that potential!"

"She's right. I became a Top Coordinator, but I still have a lot of ways to go." Zoey admitted. Dawn and May certainly agreed.

"Exactly!" Fantina twirled around, posing. "I can feel it, all this power in the air. And we've only seen the surface level! I wonder what else could be brought out of us. I am so glad that we met this world." The Top Coordinator would hop off the fountain and land in the water, letting it soak through her clothes as she laughed. Instantly, she used her Lich Magic to dry herself with ease. "Now then! Let's all get some rest and prepare for tomorrow~".

Calling it a night, they all went over to the hotel to get some shut-eye. Today was intense, but tomorrow will be even more intense. That was just how these things worked and they never slow down. Not even for a second.

Diamond Tiara slept, much like everyone else. But as she slept, the earth pony knew one thing. Despite how far she's made it, she'll have to go up against the heavy hitters next. And one of those heavy hitters was Geliditiy, who she defeated once, but could she pull it off again? If she gets paired up with Gelidity once more, that answer will be revealed eventually. She slept as she had to wait for tomorrow as the journey continues.
