My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Master It! The Meteor Assault
Previous ChapterNext ChapterKalos. Lumiose City. Afternoon.
Lumiose City.
Ash, Pikachu, Flurry Heart and Flash Sentry had arrived here and were walking about. However, in order to blend in with the rest of them, Harmony had to put on another outfit. Her mane and tail were tied into a ponytail that hung from her head and her back.
An excited Flurry Heart was about to make her way to the Azoth Kingdom, seeking out the Pokemon she wished to have by her side. But before that, she decided to enjoy Lumiose City for a while. It was a rather beautiful city after all and the young princess wasn't about to waste this chance.
"We'll meet up at the cafe in a few hours." Ash said, deciding on a meeting spot once they're all done with whatever they end up doing. Ash already knew where he wanted to go.
"I've got a good idea. Something to warm me up before we head to Azoth. C'mon, Flash!" Flurry Heart ran on ahead, having her friend follow behind.
Ash on the other hand was heading straight for Prism Tower, also known as the Lumose City Gym. There were two friends in particular he promised to meet up with again, Clemont and Bonnie.
Harmony, on the other hand, didn't expect them to be going elsewhere. She thought that she could use her magic and just head straight to where the Azoth Kingdom was and be done with this mission.
"I didn't sign up for a world trip..." She groaned to herself as she walked into the distance.
As Ash was approaching the Prism Tower, he looked up at a large screen that was currently showing a promotion of an upcoming match. A Pokemon World Championship Match that is. With his eyes locked onto it, he saw that it was an Ultra Class battle that involved a certain woman.
Her name was Drasna. The 12th Ranked Competitor in the World Championships and one of the Kalos Elite 4. She seemed to be using two Dragons. Specifically a Druddigon and a Skrelp. But noticeably, the screen showed Ash who Drasna was facing in this upcoming match.
It was Ash himself.
"Wah! That's me!" Ash and Pikachu gasped, with their arms flung around each other.
As it turned out, the date for this match was going to take place rather soon. Ash was described as the Rising Star from Kanto, ranked 15th. And currently, Drasna was being interviewed on her upcoming match with him,
"It's almost time, right, Drasna?" The Interviewer uttered.
"I believe Ash is extremely talented which makes me extremely happy to go up against him." Drasna replied back. "I know he's a bit of a popular figure recently, especially over at Equestria. Challenging a popular figure is always nice."
"And there you have it. Soon, the battle between Drasna of the Elite Four will take place in Lumoise Stadium. Don't you miss the match." The Interview ended.
"That caught me off guard, but this is great! If we beat Drasna, Pikachu...We'll get even closer to Leon!"
"Pika!" Pikachu cried.
"I gotta work hard!" Ash pumped his fists. With his spirit reignited, the young Pokemon Trainer ran onwards.
Ash had arrived at the Prism Tower, walking inside after taking the elevator to reach the top. And while advancing there, at this very moment, Clemont was busy working alongside his Luxray, filling his role as a Gym Leader by taking on a trainer and his Lickilicky.
"Use Wild Charge!"
"Use Hyper Beam, Lickilicky!" The Trainer commanded. The Pokemon charged up their attacks, but with one leap into the sky, a mid-air collision took place. With an intense blast, Lickylicky was defeated and had lost the battle.
"Lickilicky..."
"Lickilicky is unable to battle! Luxray is the winner! Which means the victor is the Gym Leader Clemont!" The Clembot, which acted as the referee for this match announced.
The trainer went up to his Lickilicky, telling it that there was no need to worry. Even if they lost the battle, they'd get better next time and become stronger.
"Clemont!" Right after that, Ash came running in from behind and appeared.
"Ah, Ash!" Clemont cried. "It's great to see you!"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu met up with Luxray, the two of them connecting paws and forming a small crackle of electricity in between. A friendly greeting of sorts between the two Pokemon.
"Glad you got my invitation. And I saw who you're about to take on soon. Drasna of the Elite 4." Clemont approached.
"Oh, yeah. I was actually coming here with Flurry Heart and Flash Sentry to do something else. We were gonna head to the Azoth Kingdom, but we're stopping by here for a while." Ash explained.
"By the way, I also heard about that new team you're a part of. One Light, was it?" Clemont recalled the team that Ash had become a part of. "D-Do you think I could be a part of it!"
"You wanna join it?"
"Oh, for sure! I mean, you have a lot of strong players there! Not just in terms of Pokemon Battling but also science! Especially Science!" Clemont cried out.
"It's not really for me to say, but I don't mind. If we ever find a situation, maybe you could help us." Ash said, giving a thumbs up and a smile. "All you gotta do is ask Twilight. She's the leader after all."
"Ah, well. I'm sure I can do something to help out! I mean, my inventions are amazing, even if they blow up sometimes..." Clemont explained.
"Yeah, but they're still so cool!" Ash nodded, giving him the encouragement.
Suddenly, the door opened as a small blur ran on by, carrying someone with it. It was Bonnie and a Dedenne who had appeared.
"H-H-Hey, slow down, Dedenne! Slow down!"
"Dedene! Dedenene!" The Mouse Pokemon cried out as it finally slowed down, coming to a halt. And right as it did, Bonnie and the Pokemon were launched into the air. "Nenene!" They landed safely, however. Bonnie was able to stand up, dust herself off and greet her friends. "Hey Ash, hey Clemont. Hey Pikachu!"
"Hey." Ash greeted back while Pikachu ran over to Dedenne. Right as he greeted them back, Ash figured now would be a good time to bring out the rest of his Pokemon. Throwing the 5 Poke Balls into the air, the Pokemon that emerged were Sirfetched, Gengar, Lucario, Dracovish and Dragonite. "Alright everyone, come on out!"
With all five of them lined up, Clemont took a good look at the Pokemon that were about to take on Drasna. Well, based on how many Pokemon will be allowed in this upcoming battle anyways.
As soon as she appeared, Dragonite locked onto these new faces. And as was the norm, she would greet them in the only way she knew how. By hugging the. "Dra!" The Dragon Pokemon lunged at both Clemont and Bonnie.
Bonnie screamed out as Dragonite had grabbed onto the two siblings. The only thing Ash could do now was watch as his Pokemon squeezed tightly, lovingly embracing the two.
Clemont grimaced while Bonnie laughed. She didn't seem to be all that phased by it.
"Dra!" The Pokemon nuzzled Clemont.
"I-Is the Dragonite I've been hearing about?!" S-S-S-S-She sure is happy to see us." Clemont stammered, feeling the air slowly leave his body. Dragonite then put them both down.
"Pikachu!" Ash's Pokemon gathered around the Gym Leader and the girl. Pikachu had gone up to Bonnie, jumping onto her shoulder while the other Pokemon had greeted Clemont.
Luxray was busy conversing with them all. And right as Dragonite had let them go, the Pokemon had jumped over to Clemont. Lucario on the other hand, had his head petted by the Gym Leader.
"Dedenene." Dedenne went up to Bonnie, sitting atop her head. She was then picked up by Dragonite.
With all these Pokemon lined up and Bonnie marvelling at each and every one of the, they were all preparing themselves. Not just for the upcoming battle, but also to better themselves now that they were a part of One Light. To ensure that their Trainer was safe, they had to improve. Thankfully, coming to Clemont's Gym proved to be a clever approach to that.
"Since you're about to have a battle with her, let me chime in." Holding out a Poke Ball, Clemont unleashed his next Pokemon, which ended up being Diggersby, no longer being a Bunnelby. At some point, he evolved.
"Diggersby!"
"Look at you, Diggersby! All big and extra strong now!" Ash nudged his chest.
"Diggersby. By." Diggersby said.
"So, since we're about to take on an Elite Four member soon, I figured now's the time to really make a difference! We gotta make sure you're prepared, so what do you say? Will you help us out, Clemont?" Ash asked.
"Sure thing." Clemont answered, pushing up his glasses. "So, do you want to have a practice battle, or do you have something else in mind? Either way, I'll do it!"
"Well..." As Ash thought about it, back on the topic of protecting Ash, Sirfetch'd, being one of the Pokemon who wished to do so, had a more traditional way of doing it.
Sticking true to his Chivalrous role, Sirfetch'd wanted to be the knight that protects his king expertly and valiantly. To pull it off, Sirfetch'd wanted to do more than just grow stronger than he was right now. He wanted to come up with a new move that would guarantee Ash's safety, prompting him to start practising on his own.
"Sir. Sir." Currently, Sirfetch'd was thrusting at the the air repeatedly with the Leek attached to his side. It seemed that he was already working on a move that could protect his Trainer. However, he had yet to find a proper target to test it on. Or even properly manifest it.
He was thinking to himself. He thought that the only thing he needed to protect his Trainer was a shield of some kind, but nothing he found was suitable enough to protect him. Although, he did manage to manifest something miniscule that was the sign of something new forming.
At the tip of the leek, a golden energy would faintly emerge each time he thrust the leek. It would be something small, and nothing to make a fuss over, but he knew that this could be the thing he was looking for. A way to keep Ash safe, even in the most dire situations.
"Draco?" Spotting this were Dracovish, Ash and Clemont. They wondered what that energy was, but Dracovish would do far more than just watch. Its eyes sparkled when looking at that glow, an enticing feeling going through its head. That's when the golden energy emanated out of Sirfetch'd, showing that he was making progress.
He even managed to get the energy at the tip of the leek to linger instead of fading away every 2 seconds. But while Ash and the others saw Sirfetch'd Training, all Dracovish saw was something else. Something it could bite.
"Vish!" Swiftly, Dracovish rushed over to Sirfetch'd while he was practising it, instantly putting its mouth on the tip of the leek. "Dracovish!"
"Sir?!" The Wild Duck Pokemon turned its attention to Dracovish. The Fossil Pokemon was biting down on its leek, attempting to scarf it all down from the looks of it.
"Sir! Sir! Sir!" Sirfetch'd was freaking out, not having the faintest clue as to what to do in this predicament. The Fossil Pokemon kept munching and chomping away at it. Thankfully, the leek was incredibly durable to resist those bites. But for how long?
"Come on, Dracovish. Not when Sirfetch'ds training" Ash walked over, trying to stop Dracovish. But the Water-Dragon-Type just couldn't let its grip go. It was only until now that Dracovish realized that Sirfetch'ds weapon was edible.
But while Sirfetch'd was annoyed by this, he saw a golden opportunity. He hasn't had a target to test this new move on yet and now, here was one right in front of him. Dracovish. If Sirfetch'd was to pull this off, then it could work in the future.
Finding his golden moment, Sirfetch'd would harness all of that golden energy he's gathered and instantly thrust his leek with all his might while it was in Dracovish's grasp. And by doing so, the energy enveloped Dracovish, pushing him forward with great force. Sirfetch'd would also be pushed forward from this attack, the two of them being sent flying as they passed by Ash, crashing into the walls with a mighty impact. A crack of the wall forming from that attack.
"Draco!" Dracovish uttered. The Fossil Pokemon had been hit in such a way that it ended up letting the Leek out of his mouth.
"Sir..." Sirfetch'd had succeeded in pulling off the attack and was now proud to know this, having succeeded. But him and Dracovish ended up fainting in the process. Clearly, Sirfetch'd was not yet a master of this attack.
"V-V-V-Vish..." It stammered.
Ash and the others were left speechless from this. The amount of power that went behind that thrust was incredible. And as they approached the Pokemon, Ash was impressed by what he had witnessed. So much so, he wanted to see that attack again, especially if they were to face off against Drasna, or anyone in the near future for that matter.
"Sirfetch'd, I think you've made a new move! I don't know what it's called, but it was so cool!" Ash rushed over, helping them both up.
"I'm not sure what that was...But based on what it looked like..." Clemont took out a mini computer from his pocket, which was just like the Pokédex but more specialized to him.
It had data on a variety of moves, with the first move that came up on that list was the one Sirfetch'd used. The one where it enveloped the target with a golden energy from the leek.
"It looks like it's a move called Meteor Assault. A powerful attack that comes with a catch. After you use it, you're left with a recharge time, unable to attack for some time." Clemont read out the details.
"Ooh, that's what that was?" Bonnie commented.
"But it looks like Sirfetch'd is just now starting to realize it exists, so he needs more time to perfect it." Clemont said. "But even if it's fresh and new, the power behind that was amazing."
"That' the move we gotta learn for sure! If Sirfetch'd can pull this off, then I think we've got this!" Ash cheered.
"Hey, Clemont, you have any other Pokemon we can battle to make this move a real move?" Bonnie turned to her older brother.
"Not necessarily battle, but..." Clemont turned his head, spotting his Luxray. "I guess we do have something, don't we?"
At a nearby park, a young Flurry Heart had rushed over, with Flash Sentry close behind. In her hooves, she held a certain book that spoke about various things about Kalos and the Azoth Kingdom. And in that book was a certain Pokemon that is rather well-known across Kalos. The same Pokemon that is a part of the Azoth Kingdom.
Magearna.
"That's it. I wanna have a Magearna by my side! Flurry Heart expressed, revealing her dream Pokemon.
"Ah, that explains it. So...are you saying you want to join up with the Azoth Kingdom's Magearna?" Flash Sentry asked.
"No, no. I don't wanna take their Magearna away from there. But I've been wondering what my Pokemon should be for some time now and I think I've found it." Flurry Heart replied. "I met up with Magearna during the Royal Phantasy when all the royals were meeting up. It was so cute! And then clicked with me...Finding Magearna is gonna be hard...Extra hard."
"It will. It's a Legendary Pokemon so it'll naturally be difficult to just find one compared to most." Flash confirmed.
"But...That's where things are special Magearna. We're not gonna find one...We're gonna build one!" She said. Flurry Heart wasn't the kind to give up, especially when it comes to finding a Pokemon. So if finding one is out of the question, she'd just build one herself. A Magearna.
"B-Build a Magearna?" Flash stuttered, confused at this idea. But he also felt like he'd get an answer if he asked, and that answer came soon.
"That's right. The Azoth Kingdom is where Magearna was built after all. Kimia told me there's a guy in Azoth who can do it. Gavial. He's somewhat of a new scientist there." Flurry Heart explained. "If I meet him and explain it, he'll build a Magearna for me. He has the blueprints."
"So that's your plan. Well, it's less effort than finding a Magearna but is the task of building one much easier?" Flash asked.
"We'll just have to see, right?" Flurry Heart replied with a cheerful tone, excited about her upcoming Magearna. "But before that, we'll wait for Ash to finish whatever he's doing and just relax at Lumiose for a while."
"I saw on one of those screens that he'll be having a battle with someone soon. Princess. Do you want to stay here for a while and see that battle or head over to Azoth once Ash returns?"
"See it, of course!" Flurry Heart wasn't in a rush to leave. Plus, she could never pass up a battle between her bestie and the competition. "But for now, let's get something to eat!"
Back at the Prism Tower, Sirfetch'd currently had Motion Capture Balls around his body. They were placed in a variety of locations. From the head, the body and the legs, with a final ball being on the tip of his Leek.
This was the work of Clemont and his newest invention, one which he had dubbed the Pokemotion Capture. This was going to be his next big invention that he'd show off to Ash and his Pokemon.
With all the balls being on his Pokemon's body, Sirfetch'd looked ready to test the new move out again, and with the help of Clemont's newest invention, this could become an actual reality.
"I figured something like this would happen, so I made this. Now, when Sirfetch'd uses that move, it'll show me all the data that it emits. After that, we can get him to learn the move properly. I hope." Clemont explained.
"I can't wait! This'll help us for sure!" Ash cheered.
"Before that, here's what seems to limiting him. Take a look at this." Clemon would show a data analysis on this new Meteor Assault and where the flaw was. "Meteor Assault involves gathering the energy given off by his body into the chest. It takes time to charge. After that, it sends that charged energy into Sirfetch'd's sword and thrusts it forward."
"Okay, I get it..." Ash was following this well.
"But here's the problem. At the third step, normally, he would hit the enemy with that energy stored into the tip, but for him, the core of his body wobbles in the transfer from charge to thrust. The tip of the sword fails to stabilize and the focused energy falls apart." Clemont went on.
"Wait...The third step...You're talking about his core, right?" Bonnie asked.
"Exactly. If the body wobbles, then you can't get a hit." Bonnie said. "So what we've gotta do is have Sirfetch'd learn how to focus his core and remove the wobbe entirely. That way, the power and speed of his attack will get better."
"Alright! So...how do we do that?" Ash asked. He knew how to improve his Pokemon, but in a situation like this, he was a tad confused on what to do exactly. But thankfully, Clemont was there to back him up, especially as a friend.
"Stillness into motion repeatedly is key. But it looks like since his leek is heavier than when he was a Sirfetch'd, finding that balance is much harder. But when Dracovish bit onto the leek, it looks like that helped with the weight a little bit, allowing for more focus on the thrust itself." Clemont said, holding a mini-computer with the analysis of Meteor Assault on it.
"Nice, Dracovish!" Ash praised, even though it was by complete accident.
"Draco!" It cried out. "Vish. Dracovish!" Suddenly, Dracovish jumped up in joy, rushing over to Pikachu and trying to bite onto him.
"Pi?!" Pikachu stammered. "Pika! Pika! Pikachu!" It tried to dodge his bites, but Dracovish was quick to react, constantly changing direction and following the Mouse Pokemon, trying to bite him over and over again.
"So, how are we going to properly stabilise it...? We'll need a good partner for Sirfetch'd..." Clemont thought hard. While thinking, Harmony managed to sneak into the Gym, spying on Ash
"So far so good..." Harmony quietly said, using magic to blend into the walls. She used her magic to essentially camouflage with the background.
But when she spoke, Sirfetch'd continued his training, trying to find that nice stability. He even tried walking while thrusting to hit that sweet spot. And as he kept walking and walking and Harmony's focus was on Ash, she didn't spot Sirfetch'd coming her way in time.
"Sir...Fetch'd!" With all his might, he tried his attack on the walls. But he didn't hit the walls.
Instead, he hit Harmony.
"GAGH!"
And the result of that was a big explosion, sending Sirfetch'd and Harmony flying into the air. Sirfetch'd flew into Ash's arms, his back against his chest. Everyone gasped at this sight as Harmony's camouflage would drop, revealing herself.
"Ah! It's her!" Ash recognized the pony by appearance. And thanks to Fluttershy, he learned that her name was Harmony. But the others, they had no idea who she was.
"Ugh..." Harmony's cover had been blown as she fell flat on her face. So much for being discreet.
Now, Ash had fully seen her and Harmony was already fearful of what might happen next. The one person she wished wouldn't see her has spotted her. Not only that, but thanks to Sirfetch'ds attack, she had been downed right in front of the one similar to Prisma as the journey continues.
