The Moon's Rage

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Kalos. The Nebel Plateau. Nightfall. Within the Moonscape.

The Soul Crystal.

The Crystal that the Arcane Insititute used had managed to capture the souls of many, placing them within the crystal. This included many from the Azoth Kingdom and would've soon happened to those in the Nebel Plateau. Thankfully, Harmony put up a shield, holding back the Soul Crytal's power in the meanwhile.

All the while, Twilight Moonlight's Moonspace was active, blocking out any chance of escape through gateway portals.

Twilight Moonlight faced off against Twilight Sparkle while Luna was struck from below, leaving the princess's wings incapacitated. The princess didn't have much time to call upon her Pokemon before she was suddenly shot out of the sky by Delight.

The Poke Ball she held fell from her grasp, bouncing off the hard surface below. Ash, who was nearby, reacted quickly and rushed to Luna's aid. However, he was blocked by the BlueLight Sisters, who refused to let him escape.

"Don't worry, the Professor has something in mind that's less violent. But still..." Flawless spoke. "You'll have to come with us."

"You've been through enough, so you should come along." Phantasia suggested. "Ease off your shoulders and all that."

"Please, Ash, darling. Just this once. You'd really save us the hassle if you came with us peacefully~" Violet spoke in a sultry tone. But Ash was not swayed, his face was full of defiance, a determination to fight against their demands.

"As if he'll come with you...!" Luna growled while getting back up, her wings twitching in pain. "I'm fine, Ash...!"

Ash was about to retaliate, his eyes burning with defiance, but Luna held up her hoof and shook her head. "I'll hold them off, you just keep going!" Ash was shocked that she could still stand, her wings twitching in pain. The princess seemed to have taken quite the beating from that attack. The boy was about to argue, but he knew that Luna was right. He needed to get as far as possible.

Right as the BlueLight Sisters were about to attack, all three of their horns glowing, with pure instinct, Luna shot a beam directly at Ash, causing him to be launched at great distances and at high speeds. Flawless, Phantasia and Violet were left in surprise as the boy disappeared.

"What?!" Flawless stuttered in surprise.

"There..." Luna sighed. That non-hostile beam took Ash far from them. But it was up to Luna to ensure that the BlueLight Sisters don't reach Ash again. "Unless you wish to reach him, you'll have to overcome me and everyone else."

"Pfft! Yeah, right! After you just got blasted? That's like, so rich!" Violet scoffed as she and her sisters started laughing. While Luna's wings were injured and twitching, the trio just laughed at her, looking down on the Princess of the Night. They weren't even going to take her seriously, seeing Luna as a weakling compared to the three of them.

"What do you say? We'll just get past this lame pony and keep chasing Prisma." Flawless said. Her sisters nodded, and the trio turned to Luna, ready to confront her. Luna was outnumbered, but she didn't believe she was outmatched. "The two of you, deal with her. I'll get Ash." Flawless flew away from her sisters, intending to follow Ash and leaving Luna with Phantasia and Violet to deal with.

"Okay then. Just one good blast will knock her out. Like this!" Violet exclaimed as her and Phantasia unleashed two great beams in unison, the attacks approaching Luna.

However, emerging from the fallen Poke Ball and intercepting these beams was none other than Darkrai, the pitch-black Pokemon blocking the hit. By holding his claw out, he managed to deflect the beams. Luna, who was standing behind Darkrai, smiled, impressed. Darkrai had emerged just in time, saving her from another hit that would have incapacitated her. Luna knew that this was a sign of his loyalty, and that he had been waiting patiently to assist her. "Thank you, Darkrai," Luna spoke, and the Pokemon gave a curt nod in response, his blue eyes glowing in the dark.

"Luna. Your wings." Darkrai glanced at her injured wings, which were still twitching in pain.

"I'll be fine, thank you, Darkrai. I'm not letting these fools pass me. This is something I can heal anyway, I'm just not going to be flying." Luna replied. She turned to look at the two BlueLights in front of them. "You're not going to get away that easily."

"What is this? One lame, beaten-up Pony and a pitch-black Pokemon? How sad." Phantasia scoffed, unimpressed.

"This'll be easy." Violet added. "Like, really, really easy!"

Luna knew what to expect from the two sisters, so she wasn't caught off-guard when they both fired beams at her. This time, Luna and Darkrai both deflected their attacks in unison, sending the blasts in opposite directions.

By deflecting them, the blasts would hit a Druddigon and a Rhyperior in the distance, taking them both one in one shot. The two Pokemon roared as they fainted on the spot, falling over. The impact of them falling caused powerful tremors that could be felt near and far.

"Tch. Alright then. You two think you're so cool, huh?" Violet scoffed in exasperation. "We'll make you two look lame in no time."

"We refuse to let you through. And Ash will be out of your reach before long. You and your sisters have lost!" Luna declared. Darkrai's claws were at the ready. The battle would continue, and it was only a matter of time before Luna and her partner emerged victorious. At least, that was what Luna hoped.

Flawless flew over the vast, expansive space of the Moonspace, searching for Ash and Pikachu. She knew that Luna's beam had sent Ash flying at a high speed. Her sisters, meanwhile, remained behind to confront Luna, and she trusted in their skills.

With each passing second, Flawless grew increasingly frustrated. "Where is he?" She thought. Suddenly, a familiar sensation washed over her, the aura of her target. It felt like she was on the verge of discovering something.

"Found ya," Flawless muttered to herself, her gaze fixed in the direction of her quarry. She had sensed the boy and Pikachu, and was certain that they were close by. With renewed determination, Flawless changed course, her focus solely on locating Ash.

In the meantime, Ash had landed in the distance, having been shot by Luna. "Ugh..." Ash groaned. The boy had fallen to his knees, and Pikachu had fallen beside him. Thankfully, Luna made sure to restrain the power of the beam, ensuring that Ash wouldn't be hared.

"Are you okay, buddy?" Ash asked.

"Pi, Pikachu." Pikachu said, indicating he was okay.

Once they caught their breath, the duo looked onwards at the destructiona nd chaos happening across the Nebel Plateau. All that peace was being ripped away. Ash couldn't tell, unaware that those in the Azoth Kingdom had their souls taken and stored away. Despite that, the fact that all of this was happening because of the soul within him was hard to ignore.

"This is because of me. Everyone is getting hurt because of me." Ash spoke.

"Pika...?"

"I wish I didn't have this ul inside of me...Then all of this wouldn't happen...Everyone's lives wouldn't be at stake..."

"Pika! Pika, Pika!" Pikachu cried, trying to reassure his best friend, who looked down in sorrow. But there was little time to reflect on the events unfolding. The sound of footsteps echoed in the air. Flawless, one of the BlueLight Sisters, had found them and was now approaching quickly. Her aura radiated with great power, her gaze locked on Ash.

"There you are." She said. Ash and Pikachu turned their heads in surprise, seeing Flawless approach them. "Not too hard to find you. You've run for too long, Prisma." She spoke, as if she was addressing the boy. Ash and Pikachu were ready, but Flawless had no intention of harming him, nor did she intend to force him back to the Institute by force. "Come back with me to the Arcane Institute. I promise you won't be harmed."

Ash wasn't having any of it. He had seen enough from these so-called Arcaners. "You've been trying to harm everyone around me and those I care about! You're not gonna get me that easily!" He retorted, and the boy and Pikachu were prepared to fight against Flawless, but she had something else in mind. "I don't want to harm you or force you. It'll just be easier for both of us. Plus, I don't have a grudge against you or somethng like that,"

"You don't?" Ash asked.

"I mean, sure. It's not like you did anything to me or something. I've got my own problems. Or I guess, I had my own problems. Parents abandoned me and my sisters because of our Aura and we would've been left alone forever. I'm like, not really sure what would've happened. Probably would've ended up being street ponies, if you ask me. But when the Professor found us."

"He found you like that? And it's all towards me?"

"Well, yeah. To be honest, I was more worried about how I'd stand out in the Institute and how good I looked, ya know? My parents didn't care, so I kinda just stopped caring too. As for the others? They've all had it worse. A lot of people in the Institute were abandoned by the ones they loved. But we're all in the Institute for another reason. To stop someone like Prisma from taking that away and all that. So, it's nothing personal. But we still gotta take you in. It makes the Institute proud and makes me feel proud too. You understand now, right? The institute's doing this for a good reason."

"If that reason involves attacking and threatening others, then I'm not going." Ash narrowed his eyes, his gaze meeting Flawless's.

"Pika, Pikachu!" Pikachu added in agreement.

"Ugh, that's like such a predictable response. Well, then, if you don't wanna cooperate, then I guess we have no choice. I'll just take you in, Prisma. I can't wait to see the look on Twilight's face when I end up being the one to defeat you. It's not personal, okay? Just gotta do what needs to be done, right?" Flawless said. "So...if that's what it's gonna be...then I'm afraid that this means that I have no other choice! Don't take this personally, Prisma. We all just have our roles to fulfill."

Flawless levitated, a smile on her face as her horn started glowing. She prepared herself for the battle, ready to show the two her incredible strength, and the aura of her power washed over Ash, Pikachu, and herself. Flawless knew that the two were formidable, and the battle ahead was not to be taken lightly.

But right as she was about to attack, someone stepped in for Ash.

"Gardevoir, use Psychic!" Flawless's attention turned to this voice that came out of nowhere, and it belonged to Kimia, who had been making her way to this spot and had sensed Ash here. The Princess had just arrived to assist. Right as she gave the command to her Pokemon, her Gardevoir attacked Flawless, causing the unicorn's eyes to widen as she was struck by a Psychic blast that sent her flying backwards.

"Huh?!" Flawless grunted, caught off guard.

Kimia was quick to attack. She didn't want to waste time and she was determined to protect Ash and his friend from Flawless's intentions, and she was ready to use any means necessary.

"Kimia! Gardevoir! Ash was surprised by this turn of events, but he knew that Kimia was there to help them.

"Whatever you're thinking, Ash, don't do it. For your safety, Let us do all the hard work for you. We're here to take care of you and we won't let anyone harm you." Kimia said, her words reassuring as her gaze fixed upon Flawless. "Even if that means you don't get to battle."

"Kimia...Okay, I'll leave it to you two." Ash nodded. He knew he couldn't do anything without risking the safety of everyone, and he was grateful to have allies like Kimia and her Pokémon.

Flawless, still reeling from the attack, quickly regained her composure. Her gaze fixed on Kimia, and a smirk appeared on her face. "Oh? What's this? Another princess?" she taunted, her horn still glowing with power.

"Precisely. The Princess of the Azoth Kingdom and a proud member of One Light. As long as I and many are here, you won't ever hope of capturing Ash or the Soul within." Kimia replied.

"Yeah? And who said I wasn't allowed to do so?" Flawless retorted.

"My Pokemon and I. We are the only thing standing in the way between you and them, and we won't be letting you get to them any time soon." The two princesses were now ready to engage in battle, their eyes locked on each other. Both were determined to come out on top.

"Fine. You'll regret getting in our way." Flawless fired a beam in their direction as Ash ran for it while he had the chance.

"Gardevoir! Dazzling Gleam!"

"Voir!" From her hands, multiple rays of light came out, intercepting Flawless's beam and rapidly clashing against it. The numbero f rays managed to rush through a Flawless flew to the side, narrowly avoiding the rays as they kept going.

Flawless turned to Kimia. "Hey! You almost got my hair all messed up and all! What do you have to say for yourself, huh?!"

Kimia was unamused. She had no patience to respond to Flawless's comment and instead decided to use that moment of distraction to attack again. "Gardevoir! Moonblast!" Kimia ordered.

"Gar! Garde!" From her hands, a sphere of energy materialized. She launched the powerful orb directly at Flawless, catching her off-guard. "VOIR!" the sphere made contact and exploded into a bright burst of light.

"Ghhhh!" Flawless was sent flying, and as the light from the attack faded, she emerged, looking more disheveled. "What?! Hey! You got my mane and tail all messed up! And I spent all that time working on it too!"

"Oh, well." Kimia smirked, briefly taunting Flawless. "You look better with wilder hair anyway."

"Hmph! I'll wipe that smirk off your face in no time! Luccario!" Throwing a Poke Ball out, Flawless summoned her Lucario once more.

"Lucario!"

"Lucario! Bone Rush!"

"Rrrr!" Lucario began forming a bone staff in its hands. Once it was complete, the Aura Pokemon rushed towards Gardevoir.

Gardevoir was quick to dodge, leaping to the side. Kimia was prepared, and as her Gardevoir evaded the attack, she called out her next command. "Use Dazzling Gleam, Gardevoir!"

"Gar! Gardevoir!" The light burst forth from Gardevoir, but Lucario quickly blocked the attack with his staff, deflecting the beams away and creating multiple bursts of light.

"Gardevoir, close in and use Magical Leaf!"

"VOIR!" The Pokemon formed leaves from seemingly out of nowhere, closing in on Lucario, but the Aura Pokemon swung the staff to block the leaves. However, Gardevoir had managed to close the distance, using the Magical Leaf as a diversion, and the Pokemon threw a punch at Lucario.

"Lu?!" The Bone Rush was still active in Lucario's hands and he quickly swung the staff to block the incoming attack.

"You can do it, Gardevoir!" Kimia shouted, cheering her Pokémon on. "Just keep pushing!"

"Voir! Voir!" Gardevoir was locked in combat, trying to land an attack. Lucario's reflexes were too fast, as the Aura Pokemon managed to block Gardevoir's strikes with his staff.

"Lucario, don't let it get near you! Force Palm!" Flawless called out.

"Luca!" The Aura Pokemon had an opening, his hand striking the Gardevoir. This caused Gardevoir to fly back in pain. "Ca!"

"G-Garde?!"

"You okay, Gardevoir?!" Kimia asked in worry.

"Voir!" Gardevoir nodded in affirmation.

"Here! Have this! Lucario, use Aura Sphere!" Lucario charged a ball of energy and shot it towards Gardevoir.

"Gardevoir!" Kimia shouted, prompting Gardevoir to quickly dodge. The energy orb went past her, and Kimia was ready to fight back. "Dazzling Gleam!" she called out. A barrage of beams was launched at Lucario, but Flawless's next order caught Kimia by surprise. "Aura Sphere!"

"Lucario!" The Pokemon formed an Aura Sphere and threw it, intercepting the Dazzling Gleam. The attacks exploded and the beams from Dazzling Gleam were blocked by Aura Sphere.

"Now! Close in and use Aura Sphere again!" Lucario rushed towards Gardevoir, holding in an Aura Sphere in one paw. He moved through the smoke, appearing in Gardevoir's sight, ready to attack.

"GARDE!" The Pokemon quickly raised a barrier in time to stop the Aura Sphere from landing on her. "Gar! Voir!"

"Grrr..." Lucario grunted as it's Aura Sphere was pushed back.

"Magical Leaf! Now!"

Gardevoir launched the leaves from the ground, forcing Lucario back, and he narrowly avoided them, jumping in the air. Lucario would evade them while charging forward, skillfully avoiding every single leaf that came its way.

"Lucario! Meteor Mash!"

"Rrr!" With his paws coated in power, Lucario prepared to unleash his powerful move on Gardevoir.

"Psychic! Now!" Kimia called out.

"GARDEVOIR!" The Embrace Pokemon used its power to restrain the Lucario, but failed as Luario struck her in time. Square in her face, the attack landed, dealing super-effective damage. A silver outburst of infinity energy went off, launching Gardevoir away from the Aura Pokemon and causing a great deal of pain.

"G-Garde..." Gardevoir grunted, landing on the ground, her eyes glowing as she tried to maintain her composure. "Garde!"

"I expected her to be strong. This shouldn't be a surprise." Kimia remained stone-faced while Flawless smirked. The Arcaners were more than ready to take Kimia head-on, but Kimia wasn't ready to give up, not by a long shot.

"Not too shabby, princess. All that Psychic and Dazzling Gleam is enough to give my room a new aesthetic. Not that I want it, but still." Flawless giggled.

"You haven't seen anything yet. Gardevoir and I have more to ffer than this. You're about to witness it for yuorself." Her eyes glinted and so did Gardevoir's. Kimia was ready for the next level. She was ready for Mega Evolution.

Flawless took notice, her expression turning from a smug grin to a serious expression. "Ah? Is that what's coming next?" She spoke.

"Gardevoir!" Kimia held out her Key Stone as Gardevoir's Mega Stone would resonate instantly. "Mega Evolve!"

A brilliant golden light erupted, engulfing the Pokemon and drawing Flawless's attention. As the light faded, the Mega Evolution of Gardevoir took its place. Its appearance was now more elegant than before, its dress giving it an angelic aura.

Flawless shielded her eyes a bit from all that light as it would illuminate a part of the Moonscape. When she lowered her forelimbs, her eyes widened in shock at the sight of Mega Gardevoir. But a smile soon formed into a smile. Despite this brilliance, Flawless was not fully worried. In fact, there was something she was waiting for.

Elsewhere in the Moonscape, right in the center of it, another brilliant flash went off. This time, from the clash between Espeon and Hisuian Samurott. Espeon jumped back after using Dazzling Gleam, having beautiful rainbows fly out of her body at high speeds, only for Samurott to deflect them all with its scimitars.

"You're in my way! Get lost already!" Angered, Twilight Moonlight would release a powerful flash of magic, forcing Twilight Sparkle to fly out of the way, narrowly avoiding this flash as it tore the moonlit ground apart. However, due to the Moonscape favouring Twilight Moonlight, it would alter reality, causing Twilight Sparkle's levitation magic to give in as she fell to the ground.

"Gh!" Twilight Sparkle groaned.

"I don't know why you keep bothering to speak with me when I've already tried with you! I've tried telling you that Ash Ketchum is far too dangerous to keep around due to Prisma, and yet you still resisted and fought back!" Twilight Moonlight spoke. Twilight Sparkle tried to stand, but was forced to her knees. The gravity was increasing. "You've got some nerve wanting to talk to me now of all times! I thought I already established myself as the more superior version of us!"

"Ugh! You are...!" Twilight Sparkle tried to say.

"The more superior version of you, yes, that is correct. It's been so obvious that you'd be blinded by the light itself if it was right in front of you, Twilight." Twilight and Espeon had their eyes widen, knowing that she was going too far. "I've tried to make you see that Ash Ketchum must be brought back to the Institute to prevent the inevitable from occurring once again! All for what? Friendship?! Ridiculous!"

An outburst of Lunar Magic erupted from below as a Lunar Pillar, attempting to strike Twilight Sparkle. Espeon was quick to use Quick Attack, knocking Twilight Sparkle out of the way and narrowly avoiding the Lunar Pillar as it tore the ground.

"Eve, use Shadow Ball!"

"Samurrot! Ceaseless Edge!"

"Esp!" Espeon formed the Shadow Ball. Right as it was ready, she threw it in the direction of Samurott.

"Rot!" Samurott formed her Ceaseless Edge, the two scimitars forming into one and she rushed in its direction. Samurott sliced the Shadow Ball clean in half.

Espeon's eyes widened and she rushed out of the way of a massive blast of darkness that exploded out from the Shadow Ball, narrowly avoiding it.

"Eve! Use Dazzling Gleam!"

"Eon!" Twilight Sparkle levitated herself back into the air as a barrage of rainbows came flying at Hisuian Samurott. She slashed each of the rainbows with her blades. "Now, use Psychic!" Twilight Sparkle called out. A bright flash would emanate, manipulating the ground itself. "Esp!" With pure mind strength, Espeon managed to lift a chunk of the ground with Psychic. Right as she did, Twilight Sparkle had her take control of the floating debris and send it at Samurott.

Samurott quickly evaded the attacks as she dodged a chunk of the ground and proceeded to evade the rainbows coming in her direction, deflecting each and every one of them with her blade.

"I won't let you win! You can't win within my Moonspace! Here! I'm the equivalent of a God!" Twilight Moonlight's eyes lit up as she demonstrated why that was the case.

Altering reality itself, she created another Lunar Pillar and threw it in their direction. This pillar would force the duo to evade, causing them to lose focus as Samurott closed the gap in the blink of an eye. All thanks to Twilight Moonlight giving him altered speed.

Samurott was in the air, using her blades and striking Espeon right across the face. Twilight Sparkle saw the look of shock in Espeon's eyes and a cut was formed on her cheek. Samurott proceeded to slice her again with his other sword. "Esp!"

"EVE!" Twilight Sparkle shouted. Another Lunar Pillar emerged, aggressively smashing upwards against Espeon's body as he went tumbling. Twilight Sparkle's eyes widened. She couldn't reach her in time. "Eve, no!"

"I even tried bringing you back to ensure Prisma's ultimate end. All four Twilights as one for a safer existence. And yet, you turned that down as well." Moonlight stood on a Lunar Pillar that would descend. Her horn glowed and her eyes narrowed as she stared down the purple mare. "But I'm done trying to reason with you. I've made up my mind on things. By defeating you and Ash, I will have become the pony I was meant to be."

"But you helped take on Twilight Luminaria with us in the dream...I thought-"

"You thought wrong. Despite my dislike towards her, my mind never changed. Not one bit. We were never going to bond. Even if there was a chance of that, all the times you resisted effectively shut that down. Your Friendship means nothing to me. And now I'll show you how pointless it is to continue this fight any longer. I am stronger than you, I always have been, and I always will be. Allow me to show you just why...starting by knocking you out right now! Samurott! Ceaseless Edge!"

"Samu!" Twilight Sparkle gasped as Samurott lunged at her, having his weapons high in the air. He was ready to strike Twilight Sparkle down with enough force to knock her out. This was Moonlight showing a slither of mercy, only for the sake of reuniting the 4 Twilights.

The Princess of Friendship was unable to move thanks to the gravity. Her levitation was weakening as her eyes grew in fear.
The blade came down. Espeon was unable to move or help in time. And Twilight wasn't quick enough to cast a counter spell and save herself. It looked to be a decisive hit as the journey continues.
