Professor Grogar

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Universe 12. The Arcane Institute. Nightfall.

Professor Grogar was about to make his move, but he needed a temporary phyisical body to do so, powerless in this stationary state.

The staff members looked on with wonder as the Soul Crystal began to hum. They could feel its power, and they were eager to witness its capabilities. It seemed that Professor Grogar was going to be able to get his physical body back. The crystal's energy pulsed in time with the Professor's voice. He spoke a few words, and suddenly, the crystal glowed even brighter and pulsed with energy, and a body began to form around the crystal.

It was a transparent figure that was slowly becoming solid. The body formed around the crystal, slowly filling it out until a goat-like figure was formed. The body was made of a translucent, glowing material that looked as if it had been moulded around the crystal, creating an almost ghost-like form. Despite resembling a goat, there was something aggressive about it, making him seem rather bulky.

The Professor had regained a physical form. While not his real form, it would be a sufficient substitute for a limited-time.

"Thank you. With this form, I will have no issues recapturing Twilight Sparkle and dealing with the spies that are causing a ruckus here. Oh, but it has been so long since I have had a body, I feel I should have a little test. On those intruders, of course." He said as a smile came upon his face. The Professor was eager to test his newfound abilities, and the spies would make the perfect target.

Feeling out his new body, he stretched his limbs, getting used to having a physical form once again.

"My goodness, Professor. I didn't think you'd take on such a terrifying form..." One of the staff members said.

"It's only a substitute. My true form is less imposing than this. But this is excellent. This will do nicely. Let us see if my power is up to the task. " The Professor then vanished, using a teleportation spell to confront the spies. Now that he had his physical form, he was determined to confront the spies and show off his newfound capabilities. He would use the opportunity to test out his abilities, to see if he could use them as well as he remembered.

The Professor had been without a body for a while now, but he didn't forget his spells whatsoever.

Skyblue Shine would toss aside more staff members with her magic, pinning some of them down with a magical shield. Her Umbrage Thieves were doing the best they could to buy as much time for Twilight Sparkle. Due to their actions, the Institute was in a frenzy. Staff members were scrambling, trying to maintain order, but Skyblue Shine and the Thieves kept causing a distraction, leading many students to focus on them, which was what she wanted in the first place.

"Very well then, let us continue on. Whether or not Twilight's left yet, we'll do our best to ruin everything they have in here!" Skyblue ordered, and her thieves immediately obeyed. As they raced to bring more chaos, the Professor teleported right behind her and her crew, appearing out of nowhere. They noticed his sudden appearance.

"Oh! My my my, you're the one who was behind all of this." The professor mused.

Skyblue turned around to see a transparent, bulky goat in front of her. His energy was strong and powerful. It was clear he was not to be taken lightly.

"And who might you be?! You seem...familiar somehow..." She said. There was a small hint of recognition in her voice, and she tried to figure out where she had seen him before. She couldn't quite place it.

"I am the Professor of this Institute that you have annoyingly disrupted. Your actions have caused me great frustration, but they will be for naught. After this, you will all be my next targets, after I have dealt with that pesky Twilight Luminaria reincarnate." Professor Grogar stated. His presence was powerful and intimidating. It was clear that he was the one in charge of the Institute. And he was not going to take lightly the actions of Skyblue Shine and her group of thieves.

"Professor Grogar!" Skyblue Shine gasped in horror as she recognized the name, and she was filled with dread. This was a dangerous opponent. The thieves immediately readied themselves, not knowing what to expect from him.

Skyblue immediately tried to restrain the professor using a binding spell, but the professor swiftly used his telekinesis to break it. He then used a telekinesis spell of his own, lifting and slamming the thieves into the walls with great force.

The Umbrage Thieves couldn't do anything. The Professor had them completely pinned. He then used his magic to bind them with chains, preventing them from using any more spells.

"Now then, you can be captured later." Grogar said, dismissing the thieves and focusing on Skyblue. She tried to use a teleportation spell to escape. However, he quickly caught onto the magical energy and grabbed it in a fist.

"No no no. You won't escape that easy." He said as Skyblue gasped.

She tried to break out of his grasp with a spell of her own. But he was too fast for her and quickly used a spell to counteract her magic, rendering it useless. With a powerful telekinesis spell, the professor slammed her into a wall, causing her to grunt in pain.

"I still have my Pokemon as my allies...Bisharp!" Naturally, Skyblue Shine and the Umbrage Thieves had Pokemon of their own that were currently active and running amok. From the smoke, her Bisharp leapt into the scene with its metal blade-like hands.

"Sharp!" With its hands high up, it went straight for Professor Grogar to cut him. But he was ready for the attack and used a powerful spell to deflect the attack, causing it to fly backwards and crash into the ground. Professor Grogar smirked. He was clearly amused at the Bisharp's futile efforts to hurt him. It seemed nothing could stop him. Skyblue was getting increasingly worried as the professor continued to deflect and counterattack all of the Pokemon's attacks.

"Bisharp, Night Slash!" Skyblue ordered her Pokemon to attack once more. It charged up its energy, and its hands began to glow purple as it unleashed a powerful slash of dark energy at the Professor. However, this bulky body proved to be more than just for show, as he stood there, taking the brunt of the attack. The attack was powerful enough to leave a scratch, but the damage was minimal compared to what he could have done to her.

Thankfully, this did allow Skyblue Shine to find a window of opportunity, breaking free fro the telekinesis and dropping down onto the ground, before quickly leaping back into a corridor.

All the other Pokemon came to the aid of their Trainers as the Umbrage Thieves were freed from their restraints. Grogar laid his eyes on these intruders with a devious grin.

"You've been running around my institute in disguises, barely making a scene or even sabotaging anything until now, which is strange to me...But I suppose I can let that go." Grogar spoke. "A shame. I would've automatically made you fellow students or even staff members if you weren't against me."

"I've sworn loyalty to Princess Celestia. I know better than to latch onto someone like you." Skyblue Shine replied. "Destroying Ash Ketchum is the last thing you'll ever do, just to ensure that Prisma does not return."

"And yet you have no answer to such a predicament. Just like the rest. If Prisma is to ever return, do you honestly believe I want to go through that cycle again? All that destruction could return with a greater rage. Or perhaps, it could return and start the cycle anew as always."

"It?" Skyblue Shine replied, confused.

"The Star Tyrant that Prisma so desperately tried to prevent every single time, only for it to keep coming back with each reset. It was never going to end. That was how that universe kept ending and starting over. With a reset, the Star Tyrant's arrival is inevitable. And it was the reason Prisma was forced to erase the Lost Universe, to avoid any further destruction. But of course, it cost us our existence and I am one of the few that is left of it. If the Star Tyrant was left to its devices without Prisma's interference, it would've started eating away at our land. Our universe. Eating away at time itself, leaving our world a barren wasteland. That Red and Black scourge would have never stopped. But Neither outcome are ideal."

"The Star Tyrant...?" Skyblue Shine paused for a moment, taking it all in. While the name didn't sound familiar, the way the Star Tyrant destroyed the world sounded familiar to her. Eating away at time and the land itself rang a bell to the android. And that's when it hit her. It finally clicked for Skyblue Shine.

Before she was an android, she was a human, living in her own Universe with her newborn baby Premium Polish. That universe had suffered untold damage by an entity she had no idea of. No one in that world knew. All they knew was that it moved across the Earth, ruining everything down, withering everything away. Just like the way Professor Grogar had described.

That meant that the entity that ruined her world, was the same entity that had been responsible for Prisma and the Professor's world ending so many times. The only reason she was here now as due to Empress Twilight finding her and recreating her as an Android Pony.

Her heart began to sink at the thought. Premium's home, was ruined by that creature. "That's it! That was the entity that destroyed our home! The Star Tyrant!"

"Ah. I see you've already experienced one of your own." Professor Grogar grinned. "Then obviously, you must understand where I am coming from, and why Prisma is so important. Your own universe has been taken from you by the Tyrant. I'm sure you'd hate for it to return and lay waste to the one you live in now. Or, if the Star Tyrant doesn't destroy it, Prisma eventually will."

Professor Grogar smirked at the shock in Skyblue's eyes as he revealed this truth to her, aiming to bring her to his side. Now that he knew Skyblue Shine lost her universe to the Star Tyrant, he would try and persuade her. "Perhaps, you can see your universe restored. Destroying Prisma isn't the only end goal to it. But it is the first step."

"You can do that?! You could restore my universe?!" Skyblue gasped.

"But of course. This Institute has many resources to make that happen. It has all been built to defeat someone was dangerous as Prisma after all. The power to destroy one who can obliterate a universe can also be used to recreate a lost universe." He said with a wicked smile. "You just need the right materials. And assistance from us."

Skyblue Shine hesitated, thinking about the possibility of her universe coming back, but knowing what Professor Grogar's intentions were. She had to make a choice.

"As hopeful as that is...I refuse." Skyblue Shine turned it down. "I have a new home, one that my daughter can enjoy, and I have no intentions of leaving. While the offer is kind, it puts two individuals in harm's way. Two that are close to my daughter."

"Hm. It was worth a try." Grogar shrugged it off. "I can't say you weren't an easy one. But, perhaps I can persuade you after this. As of right now, you and these Thieves are no match for my might." He then looked to the Umbrage Thieves, staring down at the lot of them with a grin.

Grogar then took a moment to size them all up. "If you will not be swayed by my words, then perhaps my magic will be enough to convince you. Everyone you are powerless before me!"

With his horns and eyes glowing, Grogar cast a spell that convered sound into energy that was launched at them. It went beyond the very fabric of sound itself, being more akin to shockwave of pure energy that would cause anyone caught in it to be left incapacitated, their bodies wracked by an unceasing pain and a loss of motor function. The Umbrage Thieves all felt the full brunt of the spell. They couldn't move, their entire bodies felt numb and heavy as lead. They collapsed onto their knees or onto the ground. Even their Pokemon felt the effects, unable to do anything but writhe in pain. It was an excruciating experience for all of them.

"B-BIsharp...!" Bisharp's body would rattle, all those sharp parts around it would vibrate as a result. It felt like a bunch of metal getting shaken about, the pain all across its body being too much. Bisharp tried to fight it off, but its was still stuck.

Grogar chuckled as the Thieves struggled to get up, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. He turned back to Skyblue, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "And now for you," he said, his voice low and menacing, turning his attention towards her. "Your friends are unable to save you now, so you must join my side. You'll have your own universe to call home again."

Skyblue gritted her teeth. "No! I already told you! I won't!"

She tried to move her body but felt frozen in place as if an unseen force had paralyzed her. The other Umbrage Thieves could only watch in horror as Grogar's spell took effect, their eyes wide and full of dread. They wanted nothing more than to rush to her side, to stop whatever was about to happen, but their limbs wouldn't obey their commands. They were powerless to intervene.

"Sleep now. I have a princess to recapture." Grogar cast a spell of pure darkness over her. A dark wave that was meant to send her to sleep.

Skyblue Shine growled, her Android Body shivering at the incoming darkness. The rest of her thieves had already fallen asleep as well as their Pokemon.

She didn't want to leave her friends and her new home behind. And epsecially not her daughter.

But alas, even as an Android, she could not bypass this spell as she would fall on her face, and her eyes would shut, leaving her unconscious.

The Millerree Thicket.

At the Millerree Thicket, Twilight Sparkle continued her Pokemon Battle with Silver Swirl, having recently taken down her Gholdengo. Togekiss panted, putting a lot to take down Silver Swirl's Gholdengo, only having seemingly Houndstone left.

"Togekiss, we've got this, girl!" Twilight Sparkle cheered. "You're doing so great!"

Silver Swirl frowned as she returned Gholdengo. She had two options, use the Pokemon she had on her that was a secret, or use her Houndstone. She had faith in Houndstone, and so she was going to use that option. Houndstone came out, and it growled at Togekiss.

"I know you'll win, boy!" Silver Swirl said to Houndstone, petting his head before the fight began. Houndstone howled and faced his enemy, ready to battle with all his might.

"Houndstone! Use Last Respects!"

"Hound...!" Due to Gholdengo being defeated, Houndstone emanated a truly fearsome spectral aura from the gaps in its bones, aggressively howling and crackling.

"Use Dazzling Gleam!"

"Toge!" From her body, a sparkling orb enveloped Togekiss's body, before expanding out, releasing countless sparkles that'd be launched out and towards Houndstone.

"Stone!" In response, the spectral energy would finally be unleashed in the form of an omnidirectional blast that'd hit everything around him, even if they were close, they would be damaged.

The two moves collided, but Houndstone's move was a bit stronger, resulting in the Dazzling Gleam's destruction. The sparkles would be enveloped in shadows, disappearing and turning into a bunch of sparkles. Togekiss would feel the effects of Last Respects as well.

"Kiiiissss...!." The attack would make contact, damaging Togekiss. She felt like she was being ripped apart, as her wings felt heavier than ever, the move hitting her entire body. "Toge...!"

"Togekiss!" Twilight cried out in horror. She quickly pulled out her Pokedex to learn about Last Respect and figure out a strategy to defeat it. "Last Respects?!" Her eyes widened. She had to figure out how to counter that.

Silver Swirl grinned. "Go, Houndstone, use Phantom Force!" The canine vanished in the darkness and prepared to attack the already injured Togekiss, striking her hard with a devastating blow. Twilight Sparkle was shocked by how strong Houndstone was and couldn't help but be impressed by the way Silver Swirl commanded her Pokemon.

Twilight had no idea how to respond to this. But she couldn't just stand here and let Houndstone get his way with her Pokemon. She needed to do something. She looked at Togekiss and saw the determination in her eyes. That was when an idea came to her. Togekiss was capable of a few other moves that were more powerful, however, one of them, Aura Sphere, was pointless against a Ghost-Type.

And yet, that wouldn't stop Twilight. It never stopped Ash , so why should it stop her? It was time for Twilight to improvise. "Togekiss! Use Aura Sphere!"

"Aura Sphere won't work, you know!" Silver Swirl said. "You're wasting time!"

Twilight Sparkle smirked. "Am I?" She then looked back at Togekiss and spoke in a firm voice, "Togekiss! Merge Aura Sphere with Dazzling Gleam!" Togekiss, understanding what was expected of her, nodded her head in understanding and took a deep breath, her aura beginning to shine with an intensity that had never been seen before. Her aura began to expand, surrounding her and Togekiss, and began to form a powerful sphere. Twilight and Togekiss had been practicing this for days on end and they were confident they could pull it off.

Houndstone howled in anticipation of his attack, the dark energy surrounding his body building and building. Togekiss would shoot the attack into the air, causing the attack to linger there, as if it were a star in the night sky. And right as Houndstone reappeared, ready to strike, the Dazzling Aura Sphere would start raining down Rays of Aura and Sparkles, hitting him hard, damaging his spectral form and forcing him to the ground. His attack was cancelled due to the massive pain. And this new attack would not stop.

The attacks rained down at tremendous force, a constant explosion of sparkles and outbursts of Aura would rain upon the Houndstone. The attacks kept coming, one after another, a constant barrage of attacks that were powerful enough to break through Houndstone's spectral body.

The ground was littered with holes and craters from where the attacks had hit, the dirt and grass scattered in a chaotic pattern. Twilight and Togekiss had to take a step back to avoid being caught in the crossfire of the attack, the force of the impacts enough to knock them back. Houndstone's form flickered in and out, the power of the attacks too much for him to withstand, and eventually, he fell to the ground, unable to continue.

Silver Swirl gasped and watched in horror as the attack finally ended. "Houndstone!"

"It's over! Let me through, Silver! You agreed to this! Now, let me go and save my friends! Please!" Twilight pleaded to her once more, seeing this as th eend of the battle. Togekiss was still standing, despite being rather exhausted and Twilight had more Pokemon to defend her if needed.

However, to Silver Swirl, it wasn't the end. As she returned her Houndstone, she already had another Poke Ball out, ready to continue this battle. Naturally, Twilight Sparkle was shocked by this.

"Not yet! Not when I still have my Galarian Rapidash! I-" Before Silver Swirl could continue, an ominous chill spread through the forest, and Twilight and Togekiss shuddered as a cold wind blew past them, causing their skin to crawl. The trees began to rustle ominously and a strange, eerie silence settled over the area.

"What's going on?" Twilight whispered, fear creeping into her voice as she scanned the area.

"Dark Magic." Silver Swirl shuddered, unable to send out her next Pokemon.

A loud growl suddenly filled the air, causing Twilight and Silver to jump, and they turned around to see an intimidating figure approaching. At incredible speeds, tearing through the trees, grass and even the very dirt itself was a terrifying beast that towered over the two girls. It was an entity that resembled Grogar's substitute build, its fur a deep blue that seemed to absorb any light that touched it.

Its eyes glowed an unnatural shade of yellow, giving off a malevolent aura, and it moved with an unnatural grace that made it seem as if it were floating instead of walking. It snarled and growled as it moved closer, revealing a set of razor-sharp fangs that could easily tear through most things.

This was Professor Grogar, using a spell to propel himself as a terrifying force of nature. Just as he said, he would recapture Twilight Sparkle. Right as Twilight made out who was approaching her, the force of his magical aura would reach her and knock her off of her feet and send her flying into a tree. Silver Swirl managed to stand her ground, but only because she knew how to counter this magical force and how to stay strong against it.

The creature stopped right before Twilight and Silver Swirl, a menacing aura radiating from it as it surveyed the two. It's piercing gaze sent shivers down their spine, making it clear that this creature was not something to be taken lightly. With a powerful, deep voice, it spoke to Silver Swirl.

"A job well done at keeping her occupied, Silver Swirl. As passive as you may be,

"A job well done at keeping her occupied, Silver Swirl. As passive as you may be, you are still capable." He praised the younger unicorn. "I would've preferred if you had won, but I can accept this."

"P-Professor..." Silver Swirl gasped when looking at this terrifying for, even if it was only temporary.

"Ngh..." Twilight groaned as Togekiss quickly flew to her side, but even she was overwhelmed by the power of this being. Grogar's substitute body reached for Twilight, his heavy hooves striking the ground with each step.

"I would suggest you not move, unless you want your Pokemon hurt. Here, you are powerless before me, Princess." The Professor taunted the princess, already grabbing her and hoisting her into the air.

Silver Swirl looked at this with uncertainty, almost feeling sorry for Twilight. But Twilight didn't look sad, angry or fearful. Rather, she was irritated. Irritated that she was being kept from her friends.

"Ah, that fire in your eyes. It looks just like Queen Twilight Luminaria's without a doubt. We'll soon have you join us again."

"I-I won't!" Twilight refuse,d trying to break free from his magical hold, gradually building up her own magic. She certainly had the power to fight back, but Grogar refused to let anymore retaliation come.

"You thnk you can escape me and head to your friends? Ludicrous. To ensure that you do not return, I will render you powerless...not just in the magical sense." Grogar smirked, going for something far more aggressiv. "Observe!"

Pulling his head back, his horns would shake violently as he prepared to smash them onto Twilight. The young alicorn looked up in a shock as Togekiss tried flying to her in time, but she wouldn't make it. And within seconds, the forceful impact happened. The magic surrounding her ensured the impact would not be lethal, but she felt the shockwave as it crashed into her forehead.

"Guh...! GYAAAAAAHHHH!!!" Twilight screamed at the top of her lungs, a scream of sheer pain echoing throughout the forest. Silver Swirl flinched and looked away, knowing what the intention of this attack was.

By striking her head at full force with his horns, Professor Grogar aimed to inflict Twilight Sparkle with amnesia. While his regular body didn't have this ability, his substitute body did.

Twilight would try and heal her wounds and focus her magic to retain her memories, but she struggled to hold on, feeling weaker and weaker as the amnesia took effect. As Togekiss tried to help her, she found herself struggling to remember anything, except for some distant memories of a war. She began to forget the names and faces of everyone she had ever met, even those closest to her. She closed her eyes tightly as everything went black, and she was unable to hold onto any of her memories.

Grogar would promptly blast Togekiss with magic, causing the Flying type Pokemon to become heavily injured before landing in the ground with a hard crash. After seeing how this affected Twilight, Silver Swirl had to turn away, unable to look anymore as Grogar finished his assault.

"Queen Twilight Luminaria, we shall meet again soon enough." With a satisfied chuckle, he was ready to take Twilight Sparkle in, continuing his mission on both fronts. Try as she did, Twilight Sparkle could not get through the gateway and with it being out in the open still, this left it vulnerable. Vulnerable to Grogar.

As the journey continues.
