A Second Chance

Universe 12. The Millerree Thicket. Nightfall.

After knocking out Twilight Sparkle, Professor Grogar's plans seemed to be back on track, thwarting Skyblue Shine's plan to ensure Twilight's safety. This Soul Substitute Form, while limited, brought out his immense power that he once had.

He was able to quickly close the Gateway by manipulating its energies with his own magic, making the gateway disappear from view entirely. This also made sure that any of the portals that connected to it were completely erased. He had to prevent anyone from entering the other side of the portal. With that, he grabbed onto the unconscious Princess.

"I must say, I'm quite impressed that you managed to keep her at bay while I came up with this spell. You're stronger than I thought, Silver Swirl."

"Y-yes, sir... I did what I had to do... For the good of everywhere else, I will do anything!" She replied, though it was clear that she was feeling a little uncertain about her role in the situation. "I only wish I didn't have to do that..."

"She would've never complied, no matter how much kindness or understanding I showed her. It had to be done. We'll just have to ensure she doesn't get to see those friends of hers again. I've already ordered a new container to be carried over."

With a smirk on his face, he would use his teleportation magic to whisk both of them away. Silver Swirl was left behind. She sighed deeply and looked around at the destruction that had been caused by the battle between Twilight and her. "That could've been a lot worse. But it was for the best..."

Twilight's Mindscape

As Twilight was fully unconscious being carried, deep within her mindscape, Twilight was struggling. Struggling to recall any information she could about herself. The battle had resulted in a severe blow to the head, which caused Twilight to suffer from retrograde amnesia. She had lost her ability to remember the past, and she was desperately trying to regain her memories. It was like her mind was trapped in a thick fog, where the past was shrouded in a dense haze, and the present was nothing more than a fleeting, disconnected series of moments.

At least, it would've been. But something kept her from losing everything, using a certain kind of magic. Sorrowful Rage Magic. As Twilight opened her eyes in her mindscape, she saw her alter-ego floating there, responsible for saving her. Horizon Storm.

"H-Horizon..." Twilight gasped. Horizon had taken it upon herself to protect Twilight's memories from being completely wiped out. She was holding onto them tightly, using her powerful magic to prevent them from being erased. Horizon had been the part of her that was most resistant to Grogar's attack. The professor had anticipated this, but not that Horizon Storm would have this level of resistance, or at least that Twilight would call on her in time.

"I won't let him erase you, Twilight... You have too much to live for." She stated firmly. Twilight was surprised to hear this from Horizon Storm. But it only made sense.

She was the manifestation of her darkest emotions, and she usually only came out when Twilight was feeling overwhelmed with negative feelings. But now, she was protecting Twilight from a different kind of danger.

Horizon was doing everything in her power to keep Twilight's memories safe. She had wrapped a protective layer of her magic around the memories, creating a shield that kept them safe from the amnesia. She knew that if she didn't do anything, Twilight would lose everything. She was willing to do anything to keep Twilight from forgetting the people and moments that meant the most to her.

"What do I do now...? Skyblue Shine's plan was for nothing..." Twilight muttered. "If I can't get back to my friends...or even escape this Universe then-"

"It isn't over yet. I know a way out of this mess" Horizon interrupted her, offering a solution she came up with. Whatever it was, Twilight wished to hear it at once. "The Arcane Institute wants you to revive Twilight Luminaria and has already surrounded you in a bizarre liquid. If they get a second chance, there's no telling if you'll ever escape from this. Which is why...I will take your place."

"What?! You'll give yourself up? But why...?" Twilight couldn't believe what Horizon was suggesting. "That would mean you'd be trapped and they'd use your magic."

"I'm not the important one here. I've figured that out a while ago. I am just a part of you that is all your sorrow and rage manifested. I, and other beings made out of Sorrowful Rage Magic, only exist to make sure you are satisfied and happy. Vindication, even. Whenever something brings sorrow and troubles our host, it's our destiny to try and help. That's how my kind was created. And you have a life to get back to, a good one."

"But I..."

"This is something you should never have to think twice about. You are far more important than I ever will be I will gladly take your place so that you can escape. And besides, I also know that there is a chance that you will potentially save me in the end."

"A-Alright..I understand... Thank you, Horizon." Twilight replied gratefully, feeling relieved that she could continue on her journey with her memories intact.

As Twilight closed her eyes once more, the process of Horizon Storm's magic continued, slowly and steadily repairing her memories. She was focused on restoring them in order to make sure that they remained safe and secure, and she could use her powers to make sure that she was able to protect them.

With the memories intact, Twilight would be able to remember her friends and family, as well as the many moments that she had shared with them. As the memories were repaired, she was slowly becoming more and more aware of her surroundings. It was almost as if Horizon had restored a piece of her soul, a part that was lost when she had forgotten everything. It was a gift, and Twilight felt so grateful for Horizon.

Reality. The Arcane Institute.

Meanwhile, Twilight was being placed in a tank. Horizon was now the one who had been taken into custody, with Twilight's memories and emotions locked away. She could feel her mind slipping away as the memories were taken away. As the process began to take shape, Horizon could feel her consciousness being pulled into a new form, one that was far different from her previous self.

Horizon had now taken on a new form, a new life, one that was far different from anything she had ever known before. The transformation was complete, and Horizon was no longer a part of her own self. Her consciousness and memories had been completely taken over, leaving her in a state of total oblivion. The process had been successful, and the memories had been completely erased.

In this state, Horizon would never remember anything of her old self. The memories of Twilight's past, of her family, and of her friends were all gone. All that remained were the new memories, the ones that the Institute had created. She would never be able to recall the experiences of her former self, and the only thing that would remain was the memories of the life she had lived since being taken over. As she floated within the liquid, Horizon had no idea of her past, and only a faint hint of who she used to be.

The liquid surrounding Twilight was being filled with a mysterious energy. It was like a vortex of power, swirling and dancing around her as the energy filled the chamber. As the power continued to grow, Twilight's eyes slowly opened. The liquid seemed to have some sort of magical power that was slowly restoring her. As she regained consciousness, she found herself back in a container. A rather new and fresh one that had just been brought over and was being filled up with more liquids.

Now awake, Twilight took her chance to escape, her eyes glowing as she unleashed a powerful outburst of magical energy, shattering the tube around her. The blast sent shards of glass everywhere, showering down on the floor like deadly raindrops. The force of the blast sent Grogar stumbling back as Twilight turned around, sprinting towards the nearest window, which wasn't too far away.

Without hesitation, Twilight leaped towards the window, shattering it with her bare hooves. The shattered glass scattered around her as she landed gracefully outside of the Institute building, ready to make her daring escape.

Back inside, Grogar watched in anger as the glass fell from the broken window, yet again, the young alicorn had escaped. Horizon Storm stood up, using her magic to grant Twilight as much as time she needed to flee.

"Not this time! After her!" Grogar commanded the remaining students here to pursue Twilight as Skyblue Shine watched the young alicorn fly away, realizing this was the opening that Twilight needed to leave.

Many unicorns chased after her, knowing they wouldn't go very far in their pursuit. With Twilight finally free, he could breathe a sigh of relief for now, knowing that she had managed to escape.

But standing in the way of most of them was Horizon Storm. To give Twilight the chance to escape, she did what she could to distract and buy her precious time. With her horn flashing and her wings spread wide, the pony of Sorrowful Rage would release a radius-wide ray of magic to keep the students busy.

"What. Another Twilight Sparkle.!?" Grogar was perplexed by what he was looking at. Right before his eyes, he was seeing another Twilight Sparkle standing before him. To him, he believed he was looking at a 5th Counterpart that had appeared out of nowhere, having a much more aggressive appearance compared to the other 4.

"Good luck, Twilight.." Horizon spoke, casting a spell and confronting the Arcane Institute on her own. And this was an advantage for her in various ways. Since she crippled her own memories, only knowing who Twilight was and her objective, all that was left of Horizon Storm was one thing. Her Rage.

The Sorrowful Rage Pony would use that to her advantage and take on anyone and everyone that dared get in the way between her and protecting Twilight.

Her rage was her greatest weapon without her doubt, her magic being at its peak due to this advantage. This was shown by her aggressive outbursts as her destructive beams of magic flew out of her eyes and body, like an aggressive disco ball. One student had barely managed to dodge it as the beam hit a pillar right beside them, exploding like it was struck by a missile. She was using this to buy Twilight as much time as possible.

Twilight was determined to reach Ash as she flew as fast as she could. She knew she had to find him. But deep in her heart, she was still scared, hoping that he would actually be alright. Not noticing beforehand, her magic reacted violently. Violently enough that the clouds began to darken, the wind became stronger, and rain and hail began pouring down rapidly. Thunder boomed in the distance, the lightning becoming closer and closer. Everyone nearby heard the sounds, rushing to whatever shelter they could find, except for some who didn't care.

It wasn't a big thunderstorm; it wasn't raining too much, but enough that it could be annoying to anyone caught in it, especially ponies who were trying to pursue Twilight. They tried their best, but unfortunately, they lost sight of her after chasing her for nearly half an hour.

However, despite escaping, she hadn't yet let this universe. The gateway Skyblue Shine created had been destroyed by Grogar after all. So, she had to find her own way back. But that was where the Harmony Badge came into play. Taking it out of her saddlebag, she took it in her mouth and gave the gem a gentle tap.

Then, within an instant, a gateway started forming. Cosmic Energies were moulding into one spot as Twilight closed her eyes, thinking of where she wanted to go. "Universe 50...Universe 50...!" She spoke the name of the Universe, hoping she could reach it. Her friends were unaware of what universe she was truly in, so their badge couldn't do much for them. But this certainly could.

And with a ton of power, the gateway appeared at last. The gateway to Universe 50. She was ready to jump in, but quickly remembered that Togekiss had been left behind, blasted away by Grogar's magic The young alicorn refrained from jumping in, refusing to leave Togekiss behind. To signal her, Twilight shot a spark of magic into the air, mimicking that of a firework. It then exploded in the air, turning into a giant sparkle that filled the sky for miles to see. Hopefully, Togekiss could see it and get back here ASAP.

Thankfully, she did. Togekiss looked up in the distance, seeing the spark of her Trainer. However, Grogar's attack had greatly harmed her, leaving her in a rubble of trees and rocks as she struggled to get back up. "T-Toge..." She groaned Twilight's, wanting to be by her side once more.

The Jubilee Pokemon would close her eyes, attempting to move her wings and get out of this rubble. Twilight had already waited so long, she had to be there for her Trainer now! That's when her wings began to glow. The wings then began to shift, becoming a beautiful colour.

The same could be said about the gems on Togekiss. At last, she evolved and was able to break out of the rocks thanks to this massive boost in power! "Ge-Kisss." Togekiss then soared off into the distance, following the spark into the air. And all of this was thanks to her own Harmony Badge. After all, the Pokemon received them as well, making their bodies elgible for its use. And thanks to the badge's many traits, Togekiss received enough time to get back on her feet and wings, letting the various energies within the badge do the rest.

There was a loud booming sound behind Twilight as she saw Togekiss flying toward her. Her Pokemon's wings looked new and freshly formed as she flew straight towards her best friend, surrounded by so many forms of energy. "Togekiss! Ah, I knew making that Harmony Badge was the best idea yet! Come on, let's go!"

"Toge!" Together, the duo flew through the gateway, back to her home universe to reunite with her friends. It was about time...

This left Horizon Storm all alone, along with Skyblue Shine and her Umbrage Thieves. The Raging Pony who was acting on impulse and instincts continued blasting with all of her might, attacking as many Arcane Institute members as possible, her beams tearing through the building. Alas, this all that meant that she was left in the eyes of Professor Grogar, who looked down upon the raging mare as he could see that there was nothing left of the pony they tried to 'fix'. No sanity remained in her eyes, no mercy.

Thus, a battle between the two was about to begin.

Universe 50. Mirados.

Speaking of Universe 50, as Ash squirmed on the ground, completely staggering from the soul shaking from within him, leaving him vulnerable. But he still had his friends to protect him. Phantasia and Violet stared down the Mane 5, Spike and Harmony, who stood in front of Ash. They were all going to protect him at any cost.

"Ah, you three again. Here to lose a second time?" Phantsia smirked at Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Applejack, taunting them.

"Yeah? Are you?" Violet spoke in a similar tone to them, getting cocky. The three sisters all stood on guard, prepared to take the ponies down, no matter what. Harmony would look over to Ash, who was still in so much pain, trying his best to endure it. That's when Harmony decided to do the hard task herself.

The Fused Pony went over to Ash, picking him up with her wings, promptly placing the Champion of Alola on her back. "I'll get Ash far from here. You can all take it from here."

"Will you be fine?!" Rarity questioned.

"I'm all five of you put together. I think I'll do fine. But I'm counting on all of you to stop them. Good luck!" Harmony took off, flapping her wings at great speeds, escaping the area.

As she flew off, Pokemon from the Arcane Institute were sent out to pursue Harmony. They fused to let this moment slip from them. However, due to all this resonance from three seperate souls, it was happening. Due to this powerful resonance, the three souls would slow down for a moment. Ash, Hilbert and Nate each had their eyes red, all that shaking becoming weaker. But that only led to something else.

Another Awakening.

All three opened their eyes as they gained that crimson glow. Once again, Prisma had awoken. But this time, three of them had awoken instead of one, or even two. Ash, Hilbert and Nate were now each influenced by Prisma. And speaking of Hilda, due to being the most enraged right now due to what had happened to Hilda, his resonance was a bit more potent.

And from this, he placed his hands on the dome that held him, Nate and their Pokemon back. The Zetas and Betas looked onward as they spotted a crimson glow in Hilbert's eyes, unaware that this was a sign of Prisma being involved. Before they could process it, the dome started shaking, a crack was forming. It broke apart like glass, releasing everyone from containment.

The force of this magical dome breaking apart sent a ripple across the area, causing the Soul Trainers to back up or even fall on their backs. That menacing Aura from Prisma flared to life once more, his crimson eyes glaring at them all.

Hilbert's eyes would then lock onto Hilda, who was still down on the ground, completely unresponsive. It was the most agonizing sight, seeing someone so strong, so full of life, looking so lifeless. Prisma began to step towards Hilda, intending to go over to her. He picked up his chlidhood friend, placing a hand on her cheek.

"All of you..." Hilbert and Nate spoke in unison as Hilbert looked at all the Soul Trainers with furious eyes, that malevolent aura of Prisma's slowly enveloping Hilda.

The rage he felt counted to Ash and Nate since they each had the same being's soul within them. While Hilda wasn't close to them like she was to Hilbert, it still counted. In fact, it was technically Prisma who cared for her just as much. Something destructive was coming. Something far worse than what happened in the Nebel Plateau.

As the journey continues.
