My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Gear Up for the Mirados Circuit
Previous ChapterNext ChapterUniverse 50. Mirados. Nightfall.
The Arcane Institute is under turmoil after having to come up with new strategies regarding Prisma. They had all regrouped, meeting up at a vast lakeside in this world. It was night, a full moon glowed and lit up the area with its light. But soon, the sun would rise as the night was slowly ending. To report their current status and what they've done, the students began speaking to Professor Grogar via a device.
"Professor. So far, we've only managed to strike Hilbert critically. His soul has been attacked, but his body has been turned into a spirit. While we didn't see that coming, it should at least hold back Prisma's revival." A student spoke.
"I was close, too, Professor." A voice that belonged to Flawless. "That Sombra or whatever his name was saved him. I wish I could've taken him out for good." She explained.
"Interesting. That still brings benefits to our plan. Even if you cannot be rid of them, I'll at least want each counterpart to be put into a similar state of existence." Grogar said. He was not amused, but he at least knew that there was a chance. "Now, some of you can return to rest up, but I expect a majority of you to continue the mission. As for you all, Alpha, Beta and Zeta, so far, you're proving your worth. Especially you, Alpha."
"Thank you, Professor" Alpha said with a stoic face. "I have made sure to keep the Braviary from Hilbert as a hostage for now, until I can figure out what to do from there."
"Keep on with that. Make your next plan and guarantee another victory. With Hilbert out of the picture, Prisma's revival has been held back, so I expect similar results with Nate and Ash Ketchum. But I need you to do one more thing for me. Twilight Sparkle has managed to escape."
"Already? So soon?" Phantasia replied to that.
"No thanks to some spies that were lurking around our Institute. She's feld to the universe you're in, just to reunite with her friends. But, we will make that null. Recapture her and bring her here. I have a pony by the name of Horizon Storm in captivity. While she isn't exactly Twilight Sparkle, she appears to be an alter-ego, so I can find some use for her."
"No problem, Professor. I captured her once, I can do it again." Flawless flipped her mane and smiled confidently.
"Do what you must and get it done."
"Understood." Alpha finished the last word.
With that said and done, the communication was cut off. The students regrouped with each other, knowing that they had to get their mission done.
Alpha stepped forward and looked at the students.
"I have an idea." She looked over at the trio, known as Flawless, Violet, and Phantasia. She then motioned the three of them to gather up and speak privately for a moment.
"The Mirados Circuit? What makes you sure they'll be there?" Flawless crossed her arms. "It's an intergalatic racing competition that's held once a year. It is an event where people bring their own vehicles to race against others. From what we know about Ash Ketchum, he would be interested in participating in many sports and challenges like these, and he might try to do the same with the Mirados Circuit."
"So? Are we just gonna try and find them there? What are we supposed to say to the others, or to the professor? What'll we do?"
"Leave the talking to me. I will explain the details." She turned back around and walked towards the rest of the group, as the other two continued speaking.
"So, why'd you need to speak to just the two of us and Flawless?"
"No reason. Just that if I have you, Violet and Phantasia, you three will be the ones who will fight for me and protect me. I don't expect to trust any of those others to be reliable, but the four of us can handle them all. Don't you think?"
"Well, yes. We are the BlueLight sisters after all!" Violet agreed with her. The three sisters then made their way back, to start planning their attack.
As the night kept going, slowly making way for a new day, Ash and his current group waited in Delilah's Vacation Home, keeping a good eye out. Ash had yet to reunite with the rest of his friends. Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Luna were absent. The same goes for Shining Armor and all the troops that came with them. In fact, that group had been misplaced somewhere in Mirados, having yet to be seen Even Luna herself was suddenly hard to find, being in he police station one moment and then suddenly gone during the chaos.
Ash laid on the couch, wondering where everyone could be and what to do in the mean-time. If anything, he didn't want to go to sleep, not while everything around them was in such a chaotic state. The safety of Twilight was on his mind, unaware that she was here and safe.
Ash wished to reunite with all of his friends, hoping that they were each safe and sound. But with the Arcane Institute around, it would be difficult to meet up with them without some conflict happening. However, Ash knew his friends well, knowing they could take care of themselves. But he also knew that at this very momen, they would try something to guarantee victory.
Ash's mind went to one thing. The Mirados Circuit. A high-paced racing competition that was going to happen rather soon, according to the news. Knowing his friends, they might use it against the Arcane Institute in a way that they would never suspect. They were crafty like that.
And so was he.
"Mirados Circuit. I bet my friends would use it to distract the Arcane Institute from something. If I can participate, I may be able to get the institute away from us." Ash said to himself. He pondered about what kind of vehicle he could use, before finally coming to a conclusion. "Yeah. That should be good. All I need to do is win. I've got some experience with stuff like this. Plus, it looks fun."
He gave a slight grin and relaxed. At least that would give him something to do today. And if he sees any of his friends while doing so, even better. It's what he's gotta do.
An hour before Sunrise.
The Mirados Circuit.
A massive racing event held by the City of Mirados where people would come together to compete with their vehicles, moving at extremely high speeds across a variety of environments, from the city to the deserts to outer-space.
Races for every possible vehicle imaginable occurred. Such as the Ground Vehicles Race for cars, trucks, tanks and anything else that moves with wheels; the Water Vehicles race for boats, ships, submarines, skis and anything else that moves on water; the Sky Vehicles Race for jets, helicopters, planes and anything else that flies through the sky; The Space Vehicles Race for Rockets, UFO's and other vehicles meant to move through space and more races besides that.
These races took place in a number of environments. Many different environments that would take days or weeks to reach on foot.
But since the events are hosted by Mirados, a place full of magic, technology and weirdness, they figured out a way to reduce all the travel time.
Each racer was given a small wrist band that was attached to each of the contestants. The moment a race begins, they're transported from the track to a certain environment, meaning that there was no need to waste time travelling between locations.
This allowed them to set up a few dozen different races within one single day!
Every year, hundreds of racers show up and test out their skills on the tracks, hoping to become champions and win prizes.
Now this year, a special kind of race is being held. It was known as the Celestial Circuit, and this particular circuit had several different phases of races throughout. These races had unique types of rules and settings applied to them.
One race is done through Sky Runners, another race through Spectral Flyers, and another through Dragon-Bikes.
Some tracks may take place through Mirados, going from the skies, to the cities, to even the vast oceans, while others may take place across various dimensions, from an ethereal forest filled with mystical Pokemon, a volcanic region with raging lava flows and steamy heat everywhere you look at, a vast desert wasteland inhabited by Rock and Ground-Types, an underwater reef full of Water Pokemon and other Aquatic Creatures of all kinds, and even a mysterious space station drifting in outer space. Not to mention a lot more environments and realms.
Such were the rules that were laid out for his year's race. And the one holding it was a pony by the name of Pendence. A Staff Member who helps run the Mirados Circuit.

She gazed at the rules, knowing what to expect today. Or at least, she would have. However, news of what had happened during the night. The Mirados Police Force has been held hostage in their own police station.
Mirados was so gigantic that all that chaos happened in a fraction of the city to the point where a majority of the entire place was unaffected.
And that included the Mirados Racing Stadium.
But still, with this news getting out, many might not be excited for the Mirados Circuit this year, worried about these sudden invaders from other universes coming to tear things down. However, this interested Pendence, giving her an idea.
"Actually...I could use this to my advantage." She said. "I bet they would love a race that involves these newcomers." But for Pendance, this was something that could be entertaining for everybody who lived here in Mirados. The earth pony was only thinking about the fun it could bring, making this the most interesting Mirados Circuit yet in her mind.
She decided upon it, but would have to here from her fellow staff members about this if they wanted this to happen. But Pendence knew them well. They would most certainly say yes.
Day.
The Sun rose on a new day. And immediately, promotions for this year's Mirados Circuit were everywhere. On giant screens, posters plastered onto the sides of buildings, holograms appearing in the air showing off what was going on today...
Everything was covered. Even the ground was painted with information and signs directing everyone toward the stadium.
People swarmed around in droves to witness the spectacle and get involved. Aerial Cars zoomed past in waves as crowds surged forward. Some stood along the roadsides watching the procession or taking pictures, while others climbed trees or stood atop nearby roofs for better views. More than anything else, they wanted to see this amazing race unfold live! So much noise filled the air from people yelling, screaming, cheering and just shouting random words altogether.
Naturally, catching news of this was Ash's group. They looked at the posters all around them, telling them all about what's going on with this event. The event didn't explicitly tell them about who the races were as Pendence didn't want to ruin it for either side. She wanted them to race against each other without knowing who they were prior to it. But she did at least put an image of Alpha, making her the main focus of this race.
Ash held the poster in front of him with a grin on his face. This was exactly what he had been looking forward too. "Oh yeah...they'll be too."
Meanwhile, Alpha herself heard of the event too and quickly made haste to find out where to sign up. After all, she knew that Prisma would end up showing himself here if she did join. With how big of an event this would turn out to be, there's no way Prisma wouldn't take notice and participate in an attempt to stop her.
"Ah, what?!" Flawless grabbed one of the posters, gazing at it. "How come you're the main focus?! I should be on there too!" She complained angrily. "That's totally not fair at all!"
"I think it's because of that whole police thing." Violet leaned in, only for Flawless to shove her away.
"Not even a shoutout for us." Phantasia sighed. "We're the ones who brought all those vehicles to life."
"Let's go." Alpha ordered. "We don't know how many participants are entering. But I'd rather not leave things to chance. We can't afford any slip-ups."
"Slow down. Why do you get to call the shots? Let yours truly handle it." Flawless smirked. "After all, I'm the more experienced one here."
"I was made to be biologically superior to each and every one of you. Your experience means nothing." Alpha uttered, causing Flawless to stagger in absolute shock at what she had just heard. Alpha said nothing else as she walked off, the other BlueLights following suit while trying not to laugh.
Twilight's group, which consisted of Spike, Rainbow Dash and Applejack, would also sign up, but undergoing disguises so their identities would remain hidden for the most part, alongside using different names.
The most excited for this was Rainbow Dash, who did love a great race after all. Using the disguises, they shuffled their way to the sign-up booth, writing down fake names. Once they got their names down, there was one thing they were ordered to do. Most races come with their own pre-built vehicles, but at times, they are allowed to build their own vehicles if they so please or even rent them. And in the case of these newcomers, that would be their approach.
Ash's group didn't bother writing down fake names. They used their real names and were going to make sure that the Arcane Institute knew they were participating. Once they finished, they made their way out of the booth and straight to the Creation Room, a large building that contained all sorts of tools and equipment that could help make and customize their own vehicle.
The room in question had a multitude of parts, gadgets, tools, and everything else imaginable to create a unique vehicle for the Mirados Circuit. A wide range of different materials, metals, woods and plastics were available to choose from. Everything from engine components, tires, brakes, batteries, suspension systems and even body kits and other modifications were provided for people to choose from.
The space contained numerous workbenches with all sorts of tools such as saws, drills and welders. There were also plenty of computer monitors displaying blueprints for all sorts of different vehicles, from cars to planes to spaceships and more.
Ash and the others began building their vehicles. Each of them working together as best they could to construct their respective vehicles, taking advantage of their teamwork skills and making sure they made something durable, speedy and capable.
"Alright. All this future tech for us to work with it. Let's make something awesome then!" Ash took the lead, working hard on his own vehicle. His was based off of the Spectral Flyers. These were the kind of vehicles that had wheels but would also glide through the air, using a unique propulsion system to do so, making it extremely fast and able to move through the air. But for Ash's, he was making his more like a hoverboard. Much more than what Mirados currently had.
The rest would do the same, working together to build their own Spectral Flyers and Aerial Cars. Each one having a different theme and style, from the sleek, fast and agile to the big and strong, each one designed specifically with their personalities in mind.
Twilight and her group did the same. Twilight was busy making hers, taking inspiration from the Spectral Flyers but also adding a bit of her own magic to it, using her horn and a set of crystals to make it glow and look more powerful and cool.
Applejack and Rainbow Dash worked together to make a vehicle for Applejack, while Rainbow Dash worked on her own vehicle. This time, it would be a large truck, with an extended bed and a powerful engine. Rainbow Dash worked on a smaller one, based on his old racing bike. Hers was more for speed and maneuverability rather than strength or size.
Spike was busy with his own creation. A big and bulky machine that looked more like a tank than a car. It had large, sturdy wheels and a powerful engine that could rip through any obstacle in its way.
Due to how advanced the technology was, they didn't need plenty of experience to know what they were doing. The tech pretty much put everything together itself. All they had to do was provide the parts and design. They were done with their vehicles in less than 2 hours.
That included their own customizations and additions. Ash had a red and blue hoverboard that he called 'Bright Streak', Twilight's was purple with a yellow star design that she called 'Starshine', Rainbow Dash had a racing bike which had been painted blue with yellow lightning bolts, and had been given the name of 'Stormchaser', and Spike's was called 'Armored Dragon'.
"Hmm...Shouldn't we make it so that we're all using the same vehicle?" Twilight thought about it for a moment, before shaking her head.
"Would it?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I guess so...We already made this stuff though."
"If we all rode on the same thing, it'd be pretty easy to get spotted." Spike added. "But..."
"But we'd all be in the same vehicle..." Applejack pondered for a moment. "It's a bit of a toughie. Any ideas?"
"Let's just keep our vehicles." Rainbow Dash insisted. "Besides, I already made my baby! There's no way I'm just getting rid of him!"
"You're right. We race separately but with the same goal in mind." Twilight Sparkle agreed.
As for the Arcane Institute, they made the most amount of vehicles thanks to their mass numbers, being at a staggering amount. But one stood out among the rest. The main vehicle was built to seat multiple racers, being a giant battle machine of sorts, with the cockpit sitting in the middle. The vehicle was designed with a lot of speed in mind but was also extremely strong, capable of withstanding heavy impacts, having the strongest armour of the group, alongside having powerful weapons.
The design of the vehicle itself was reminiscent of a dragon. The body of the vehicle was shaped like a large, powerful reptilian body, with the cockpit in the shape of a large head, featuring sharp claws, long, curved wings, and a long, spiked tail. It was made of a dark metal that gave the impression of scales, and was equipped with an assortment of guns, rockets, and other weaponry.
"Excellent." Alpha said. "It looks versatile enough. Now, let's see how fast we can get it going."
The BlueLights, however, didn't really care about the vehicle. Their focus was mainly on their own racing skills. Violet was eager to go fast, while Flawless was more interested in showing off.
Phantasia, on the other hand, was more concerned with her own skills. "So, you're gonna race with that big hunk of metal?" She said. "Why? Just get in one of those Spectral Flyers or whatever it's called and fly away!"
"Hey! I've got my reasons! I don't need to explain myself to you." Violet replied, as the three of them walked to their separate vehicles. They weren't really that interested in the race, or the Arcane Institute. They just wanted to have fun.
Alpha had the vehicle in the front and center of their group. It was huge and could hold all the members, while the other racers would use the Aerial Cars, Spectral Flyers, and Quantum Bikes that were built for speed and combat, but also for a fast getaway.
"We'll use this as our flagship." Alpha explained. "This is the one we will be racing in. It is heavily armoured and armed. It's also extremely fast. The rest of you, pick your vehicle." The Arcane Institute members quickly began picking out their own vehicles.
The BlueLight Sisters went off in different directions. They weren't going to be racing in the same vehicle. Phantasia was going with the Spectral Flyer. The vehicle looked similar to a large, mechanical bird, with large, powerful wings. Its feathers were silver, and it had sharp talons.
Flawless BlueLight went for the Aerial Car. The car was large, bulky, and looked like it was made for speed. It had a sleek design and a large, powerful engine.
Violet went with a Spectral Flyer, much like her sisters, but this one was more compact, sleeker, and more agile than the other two, with the body being much thinner and the wings being much shorter.
Alpha herself would take command of her vehicle. She would have the Arcane Institute members in the other vehicles follow her, protecting her vehicle as she would lead them to victory. She had confidence that she could take down the rest of the racers and would do whatever it took to make sure they won. But more importantly, capture the reincarnations of Prisma. That was all that mattered.
