The Mirados Circuit

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Universe 50. Mirados. The Mirados Circuit. Day.

The racers were still making preparations Pendence oversaw the entire thing, looking at all of them. The Aerial Car and the Spectral Flyer had a similar base model, with some variations in the wings, engines, and other features, such as weapons and shields.

The Quantum Bikes had a similar base model, with the only real differences being the colors and decorations, with a few models being more streamlined for better aerodynamics, but all of them were designed for speed and agility.

All the other racers had no idea that the newcomers were here via plan. Ash, Twilight and Alpha each had the same thought without either knowing what the other was up to.

A total of 100 Racers were present and were ready for the race of a lifetime. Some vehicles were far larger than others while some were incredibly designed with many applications. There was no telling what each vehicle could do or if it would be able to stand a chance in a race.

Before they could start, everyone had to check up on their vehicles, making sure everything was in order. And the one thing every racer needs is a Pitstop Team to ensure their vehicle was working well.

The Arcane Institute had that covered. Each of the Betas and Zetas were based off of Kimia, who was a natural prodigy at machines. Due to this, they had the largest pitstop tea by a mile.

The BlueLights had a group of Betas and Zetas who were responsible for keeping the vehicles in top shape, with Flawless being the leader of the group, giving them the instructions and what to do. But they wouldn't need any instructions, not with their intuition.

"Right there...There they are." A disguised Twilight pointed her hoof at the Arcane Institute. They were on the far end, but Twilight knew that they would have to face them sooner or later.

"I still say we get them with a sneak attack..." Rainbow Dash grumbled. "I bet we'd catch 'em off guard if we ambushed 'em!"

"There's far too many of them for that." Twilight shook her head before looking around. She viewed all the competitors of this vast race and her eyes soon locked on to the rest of her friends. Right there, she spotted Ash's group. She wanted to cry out his name, but a telepathic link was chosen instead.

The telepathic link struck Ash's head, causing him to react to the voice that spoke to him from within his head. It sounded exactly like Twilight Sparkle, so there was no question that it had to be her.

And when hearing this voice, Ash surveyed the area, soon spotting her. In the distance, she saw Twilight Sparkle, safe and sound. She was no longer captured or in any danger, which led to Ash being starstruck.

His face lit up like a Christmas tree upon seeing his friends. He had missed them dearly and was happy to see they were alright. But there was one thing he had to do before going to them, as he knew he could reunite with them at any time. Ash knew he needed to make his preparations, but also keep an eye on them and the Arcane Institute at the same time.

He had so much going through his head, so he needed some time to sort it all out. Right now, though, all that mattered was getting his team prepared and ready to race.

He was going to go and make his move when a sudden glint up ahead stopped him. Looking in the distance, he saw it was none other than Twilight.

Twilight, in the disguise she wore, had winked at Ash, a smile on her face. "Hey, Ash."

"T-Twilight...!?" He was speechless. She was there, in person, right in front of him! He had to make sure he didn't get too excited or blow their cover, though. He was going to hug her when she held him back, shaking her head. She then pointed at the Arcane Institute members who were watching everyone around them. While Twilight would love to have a happy reunion with him, they needed to stay undercover until the time came to reveal themselves and strike back. Ash nodded and turned to the other team.

Pikachu waved at Ash, running over to him in this vast crowd. Thanks to his small size, he could easily bypass the Arcane Institute without being spotted, rushing over to Ash's side. Once reunited, Pikachu lunged into Ash's group with glee.

"Pika!"

As the three teams were checking out the other vehicles, Alpha took this moment to take a glance at Ash. This was the first time she ever got to look at his face directly, as all she knew about him was information and a photo. Just as Alpha suspected, Ash would be here.

Pendence and the many staff members accessed their devices, scanning each of the racers for their information and data. They scanned their bodies to check for any health problems and to check their vitals, plus their Pokemon since they would be involved in the race. Pendence focused on the newcomers, wanting to know everything about them. She mainly focused on Ash and Alpha, who had rather interesting details.

Ash currently had Hilbert within him as a spirit and that he was the one with the most power in him, along with the soul of Prisma, which was waiting to awaken once more.

Alpha was very different. There was something very unusual about her, something very different. She wasn't like a regular human. She saw that her body was made entirely out of Souls and had a large quantity of magic. The magic was different, though. She was a perfect being, a creation that could be seen as unnatural.

"Oh, my I knew they'd be interesting, but this is a fun sight to discover." Pendence giggled. "These two have quite a lot of potential."

"And what about their Pokemon?" Another staff member asked.

"Mm. Not as special. That Pikachu seems to be the exception. But it's fine. A year without the Pokemon making the biggest impression isn't the end of the world." She then turned her head. "This race will help get everypon's mind off of the recent events. A shame what's happened with the Police Force though Being held hostage is rather ironic but...the show must go on. And this is a great motivation for the race!"

"Right..." The other staff member nodded.

As the Arcane Institute had all the Pitstop members they needed, Twilight's group needed one as well. Ash technically had a pitstop member in the form of Raleigh, who would also be taking part in this race. Raleigh's knack for machines would help fine-tune the vehicles, but Twilight had no one.

That is until she was assigned a pony that would assist her team.

"You're the pony I'm teaming up with, right?" A unicorn strolled over. Her name was Cure. She had a similar color scheme to Fluttershy, wearing a hoodie top and some headphones, currently listening to music and looking at the Pokemon.

She turned her head to look at them, pulling the headphones back as she smiled at them. "Morning!" Cure greeted them, looking at each one. "Lucky me. I get to pair up with the newcomers that are making a fuss in this city."

"Uh, yeah. That's us. Well, partially me. My name is Moonstone." Twilight used her fake name, offering Cure her hoof. Cure was very friendly and accepted the gesture.

"Nice to meet you." Cure chuckled, smiling at the group. She then looked at Twilight's vehicle, scanning it with her magical eyes. "Wow, it looks so nice and clean! You don't get that too often with newcomers. Usually, it's one big mess from the start or slightly above average."

Twilight shrugged, "I like to keep my stuff nice and tidy, so it's nothing special." Her vehicle looked like a standard hoverboard but with an alicorn ornament on the front of the car. In reality, she had her Cinccino to thank for that, always keeping Twilight's things clean for her.

Cure walked around it, taking in its design. She touched it a bit and gave a small nod to herself. "Very nice, I'm sure this'll hold up during the race. We have a few minutes to make any modifications, if needed, and then we'll be off."

Twilight gave her a small smile. "I hope we'll be a good team."

"Oh, we will, I'm sure. I'm the one who'll keep this baby nice and ready." Cure said with pride.

Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy had arrived at the Mirados Circuit Stadium later than everyone else. After seeing the poster, they rushed to the area, hoping that the Arcane Institute haven't attacked anyone there. They needed to get the racers out of there or hide somewhere safe, otherwise the Arcane Institute will have a chance to get more victims.

However, they arrived to see that it was not the case. Instead, everything was rather normal, with the racers preparing themselves for their race and getting the audience excited. As a result, they were confused. They thought that there would be a fight, but instead, it seemed like nothing was wrong.

"I don't understand." Fluttershy spoke. "I thought that the Arcane Institute was going to cause problems here. Why is everything...normal?"

Rarity shrugged. "Who knows. They might've decided not to attack. Perhaps it wasn't their target, and they were going somewhere else."

"Or maybe, they have a reason to be here!" Pinkie Pie smiled. "They could be undercover and they're just waiting to strike! Maybe we can find them and stop them?" Pinkie's words caused the other two to look at her in concern. "Oh, that's not good, is it? I guess we better find out what they're planning and fast."

They were unsure of what to say, so they simply watched as the race was starting. They were surprised that nothing was happening, no Arcane Institute anywhere. Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were left to wonder why they hadn't seen any sign of them yet.

But very soon, they would see them as the race was now beginning.

Everyone got inside, sat on or stood on top of their respective vehicles, and prepared to start the race. The announcer, a pony with a blue mane and glasses, was ready to get things started.

"All right, ladies, gentlecolts and all kinds of Pokemon Species in between! It's time to start the Celestial Circuit!" She announced, her voice echoing throughout the stadium. "100 Competitors plus some new ones. Some of which are responsible for messing with our own police force. Naturally, I can imagine a lot of eyes will be on them. There's some bias...but I can tell it can change the more the race goes on!"

The announcer looked down at her clipboard. "We have so many competitors, and the race will take a while, so let's get things started! In fact, we're already starting! So get your engines ready and your Pokemon ready to fuel whatever you have! The race is about to begin!" She put the clipboard down. "Now let's see who's gonna win this year's Celestial Circuit. I for one am looking forward to the the most."

As the announcer announced the race was starting, the racers all got ready to begin. The vehicles were already in their positions, and the Pokemon were ready to go. All of the vehicles had their engines roaring, the racers were ready to go, and the Pokemon were all set to race. It was a tense moment, the air full of anticipation and excitement, and soon the race was about to begin.

"Are you ready, Pikachu?" Ash asked his Pikachu, who was on Ash's shoulder, staring ahead at the road. Pikachu was ready to go, his tail wagging in excitement and anticipation.

"Pika!" He replied, his eyes gleaming. Ash grinned, and the two of them were ready to take on the world. And of course, overcome the Arcane Insitute in a new way. Ash was starting to feel out the hoverboard the longer he stood on it, much like Hilbert and Nate.

The countdown to the race was starting, and soon the racers were ready to go. They all looked around, seeing who they would be up against. They saw many different species, all of them ready to race, including their opponents, the Arcane Institute, who were in the back with their vehicles ready to go. The Arcane Institute was ready to race, and they had a plan. They were not just in it to win, but to sabotage the race and take out their opponents. They had already sabotaged the police force, so they were confident that they could do the same here. They had a plan, and they were ready to execute it.

The countdown ended, and the race began, the vehicles speeding away. The racers all took off, their vehicles roaring at their peak, their Pokemon giving the power to the vehicles and giving them an extra boost. The vehicles flew down the road, their riders at their limits, their Pokemon giving the vehicles a boost, as they all sped off.

Ash felt a bit wobbly on his hoverboard, but managed to find a balance quickly enough. "Wow!" Ash exclaimed as he rode his hoverboard. "This is so cool!" His eyes widened with delight and excitement as he took in the scenery of the city below him.

"Pika pi!" Pikachu said as it looked around, taking in the view as well. All the vehicles that either passed by him or were right next to him came in all different shapes and sizes, prepped to handle the versatile raceway.

The racers were in a close pack. Everyone was moving quickly and efficiently. They were in the city, and there was no telling what kind of obstacles would pop up. As they continued on, the first major obstacle appeared. It was a large building that had fallen down, creating an obstacle for the racers to pass. This caused the pack to scatter, and everyone was looking for their own path to cross the fallen building.

Ash and his friends were able to get past it with no problems. The race was still young, and they were still far away from the front of the pack. But as they went on, the race was starting to get a little more competitive.

Ash looked behind him to see if any of his friends were there, but all he could see were the other vehicles racing past him. He had lost sight of them. "Where are my friends?" Ash wondered.

"Pika?" Pikachu asked as he too was looking around.

"Maybe they're up ahead?" Ash asked, trying to look on the bright side. He and Pikachu sped up, wanting to see how they were doing and where they were. He didn't know that they were behind him. Ash didn't have a clue that his friends were right behind him. In fact, he was so focused on the race that he didn't even notice the Arcane Institute right behind him.

The first area they were all racing on was known as the Celestial City Streets, and it was filled with many buildings, streets, and obstacles. The streets themselves were made of a mix of metal and glass, giving them an ethereal glow. There were large, twisting structures in the distance that were made to look like stars.

There were many buildings and towers in the city. They had many different designs, and they all seemed to glow with an inner light. The buildings had large digital windows that showed off their interior. They all seemed to be very high tech. There were many vehicles that were moving around the city. They all seemed to have their own unique designs and features. The vehicles were made to be able to go at speeds much higher than what was normal.

The racers were all accelerating past their current speed, and there were many obstacles to avoid. There were many ponies on the ground cheering on their favourite racers. The ponies on the ground seemed to be dressed in very colorful outfits. The racers were all trying to outdo each other.

And one way was with their Pokemon. This was no normal race after all. This was a race where the Pokemon could also battle to take their opponent's vehicle out of commission. They had to battle while racing and at high speeds, and the racers who were skilled in battling would have the upper hand in the race.

One racer in particular had a Talonflame and was using it to help boost her own vehicle. She was using a special technique to have Talonflame to fly in sync with her vehicle and help propel it forward. It was a risky tactic because the Talonflame had to be precise, otherwise the vehicle would not move forward.

The racers were all going very fast. Some were able to keep up with the leaders, and others were falling behind. There were a lot of close calls as the vehicles swerved to avoid the other racers.

Other Pokemon were attacking the other racers. Many attacks like Thunderbolt, Fire Blast and Hydro Pump were flying at each other, hitting the other Pokemon or vehicles and knocking the drivers out. The race had already begun to have its casualties, but that's just how the race worked. The crowd didn't seem to mind this. It was exciting to watch the battles. Some of the battles were even being shown on the large holographic screens around the city, the crowd cheering on their favourites as the race was going.

As they continued on their path through the streets, they were nearing the first major obstacle, and as the announcer had explained, the city streets were littered with fallen buildings, rubble, and debris from previous battles. This made the roads more dangerous, as the racers would have to avoid not only their rivals, but the obstacles in their path.

Ash had a little trouble maneuvering his hoverboard through some tight spaces and sharp turns. He was able to make it through without any major issues though. As they made it out of the streets and into a more open area, the other racers started to slow down as they approached a tunnel.

"I didn't know they'd also battle! Where was that in the rules?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed at this sight, seeing all the moves fly around. "Oh, right, I didn't read the rules..."

"I guess it's just second nature. If there's Pokemon involved, we should expect something like this." Twilight said, using magic to stay stable on her hoverboard. "Something like this benefits the Arcane Institute too, no doubt. They could use this to take us out..."

Ash looked around. He and his friends were in a large, open area, with the tunnel in the distance. The area was filled with various buildings and structures that were all in a state of disrepair. There was a large tower in the center of the area that was falling apart.

The tunnel itself was in the shape of multiple hexagons, radiating Quantum Energy. These obstacles were far more complex, fitting in with Mirados's aesthetics and making it look more like a futuristic tunnel. The obstacles inside included large walls, moving platforms, rotating platforms, and more.

The walls would move in and out of the ground and ceiling, making it harder for the racers to move around. The rotating platform would rotate in a random direction, even letting out blinding lights. The moving platforms would rise out of the ground, then move in a direction of their choice, and fall back down.

Some racers have been through this before, building their vehicles to handle these obstacles or even bring new Pokemon to deal with them. Others were using their Pokemon to help get through. They were using the attacks from their Pokemon to blast the walls, or use them to help get across the moving platforms.

The other racers were also using their own Pokemon to deal with the obstacles, or the other racers, and many were already having their vehicles be destroyed. Some racers were even getting eliminated in this part of the race.

"Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt to get through that obstacle!"

"Pikaa....!" Pikachu leapt off Ash's shoulder and began charging a powerful electric attack. He then launched it at the wall ahead of him. It shattered into pieces, and Ash continued on.

Flawless had the same idea, but she didn't rely on her Pokemon or the vehicle to break through. She simply used her magic and her own aura. She focused on her own aura and unleashed a massive blast, which destroyed the wall ahead of her.

The tunnel's walls had an array of colors and patterns that were moving and shifting around the racers. They were flashing colors and images of various things from around Mirados. But the unique thing about this tunnel was how it adapted to the racers and the obstacles they encountered, changing to provide a new challenge every time they entered it. The tunnel would rearrange its layout, altering its walls, floors, and ceiling in a variety of patterns to keep the racers on their toes.

Ash, his friends, Flawless and her sisters were nearing the end of the tunnel. The obstacles had gotten harder, and they'd had to battle their way through a few more obstacles, including walls, moving platforms, and rotating platforms.

The final obstacle was a massive rotating platform that was moving in a circular motion. It was surrounded by multiple other rotating platforms that were moving in a random direction. They had to move through this rotating platform and then move onto the other side to get out of the tunnel. They'd all been battling each other and their Pokemon while they were moving through the tunnel, and they were nearing the end.

Ash had to jump up onto a rotating platform, then leap off to the next one. He and his friends were all using their hoverboards to get around. He was able to get through this section of the race without any issues, as he and his friends all had a good sense of timing. Flawless, Phantasia and Violet were also having some difficulty with this section of the race. The three of them were using their own methods to get through, such as teleportation, or a magical barrier.

As Ash, his friends and many racers were nearing the end, a loud sound echoed throughout the area. Ash, Twilight and Rainbow Dash had heard the sound and looked up.

The obstacles weren't just objects. Some were Pokemon and one of these Pokemon revealed itself. Flying above the competitors was a Corviknight, its eyes gleaming with an ominous light as it swooped down to attack. Corviknight let out a piercing screech as it swooped down towards the racers, its metallic feathers gleaming in the light. Its wings were stretched out to the side, and it was clearly looking for a target.

"Corvi!" Corviknight had used Air Slash, sending tearing blades of wind down towards Ash and the others. These Air Slashes came in rather plentiful numbers as Corviknight was able to flap its wings fast enough to do so. The blades hit the ground and especially some of the more armored vehicles.

"This is so much cooler than I imagined!" Ash was loving this, his eyes lighting up. Not only did he see Twilight again, who was safe and sound, but he was a part of this wild race against all kinds of opponents and obstacles. And now, there was a massive Corviknight trying to take him down. To think that this was only the first part of the race.

"Nggh...! Why did it have to involve Pokemon!?" Violet grimaced as she ducked for cover. She would've preferred if the race was completely normal, but the moment she saw Corviknight coming in to take a shot, she got herself behind cover. Violet was more than willing to let others deal with it.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" The little yellow rodent jumped up and sent a powerful bolt of lightning straight for the flying beast. Pikachu had been training to increase the strength and accuracy of its electric attacks, so it could now hit even the most agile opponents. This attack had been honed over time, so it was especially effective at taking down flying Pokemon like Corviknight.

The attack hit the flying Pokemon hard and it fell to the ground in pain. But it wasn't over yet. Corviknight was not going to let itself be beaten that easily. Corviknight got up, shook its head and began flapping its wings hard, generating gusts of wind to try and knock Ash and the others off balance. Corviknight also let out another piercing screech. This one was different from the previous one, and it was clear that it was calling for backup. It was going to try to bring in more Pokemon. Ash knew that he had to act fast if he was going to beat it.

"Ugh! Don't start complaining!" Flawless yelled out, seeing that Violet was still standing behind cover. Violet was about to come up with some excuse as to why she didn't fight Corviknight, which irritated the eldest sibling. Flawless knew Violet well enough to know that she could handle this.

"Are you like...scared of being attacked in a moving vehicle?" Phantasia raised an eyebrow. Violet let out a blush and cheeky grin, confirming that she did have that kind of fear.

"Let me take care of it!" Flawless said. She leapt into the air, her horn beginning to glow brightly with a bright, golden aura that surrounded her. She flew at the Corviknight, her aura shining around her body. The aura grew brighter and brighter, and it was clear that it was getting stronger. She was ready to unleash a devastating attack, something that was going to knock out the flying Pokemon.

Corviknight was about to unleash another screech when it suddenly stopped. Flawless had caught it off guard with her attack, and it had taken a hit that was more damaging than it expected. It had taken the brunt of her attack and was unable to continue fighting. Flawless then flew back to her sisters and the others, her aura fading from her body.

With Corviknight out of the way, the racers continued onwards, but they were bound to encounter more Pokemon along the way, with most being far stronger The Mirados Circuit was still early on and the length of it was yet to be seen as the journey continues.
