My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Strengthened Soul
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEquestria. Magehold. Late Afternoon.
As everyone looked on in shock, Alpha was staggered, magical energy gushing out of the wound, flowing in the air. There was a stunned silence from both the students of the institute and their Pokemon. They couldn't believe their own eyes. Had she been defeated that easily? Was it possible? What did that mean for the others? Were they doomed?
However, Alpha would close her eyes, regaining her cool. And much to the shock of Toxicroak and everyone else, the wound was closing, healing itself rapidly. "Toxi?!"
"She's healing?!" Dimstar bellowed with her eyes wide open. The hole made by Toxicroak would start closing, healing the wound that was inflicted upon her, sealing it and stopping any leaks of magical energy. The damage to her body would be repaired in an instant, her magical essence and her soul would regenerate in an instant, repairing and restoring the damage. Her soul would also be healed and her mind would not have been damaged at all. In seconds, her body was restored, the injury completely erased. This would not only restore her to full strength, but it would also increase her durability, allowing her to withstand the next attacks more effectively.
"Since when can you do that?!" Flawless herself needed to know.
"Magic wasn't the only thing added to me." She responded to her. "I was also enhanced to the point where if any damage would occur to me, the bond between the souls in me would immediately repair the damage and strengthen my body and my abilities. Any attack made against us will fail and I'll just keep getting stronger."
"So, you can heal your own wounds?" The eldest sister said, aghast. "That's absurd! And so lucky...!"
"I have been made to ensure that the mission of the Institute sees success. You will not stop me. No matter what." Alpha said while looking down on Toxicroak. "So begone." With her eyes flashing, she would use the magic of Sombra, unleashing a pulse of darkness that would launch her foe far, sending him flying and crashing to the ground.
"Toxi!"
"Toxicroak!" Dimstar gasped, quickly using her tendrils to catch him before he could hit the ground. The force that he was launched at could have seriously hurt him. He was lucky that his master had such strong instincts to save him from further harm.
"You'll pay for that..." Dimstar muttered under her breath before returning Toxicroak to his Poke Ball.
"Let that be more than just a warning. We'll make an example out of you all to give the proper message to all of Prisma's allies." Alpha threatened as her Gardevoir would descend next to her.
"But it doesn't have to come to that." Silver Swirl spoke to them. "Please, let us reach Ash and I'll try my best to be civil about it. We want the same thing you do. To stop Prisma from awakening and destroying everything."
"Well, I'd prefer to just obliterate all his counterparts, but that's just me." Phantasia shrugged.
"As if." But Dimstar wasn't deterred by Silver Swirl's more sympathetic approach, knowing that there was no reasoning with these attackers from another universe. "You've already threatened and harmed my friends. Numerous times even. If you think you're talking your way out of this, you're an absolute fool."
"Mmm..." Silver Swirl pouted before walking back, deciding not to say anything else.
"Finish this. Now." Alpha ordered, continuing the battle.
The group of villains would resume their attack, ready to finish this once and for all. However, when their Pokemon would try and advance yet again, but right as they moved forward or even got closer, they were blocked. A massive invisible force stopped each and every one of them in their tracks. Even the three BlueLight sisters were unable to break past it.
"H-Huh?" The middle child was baffled. What the heck was this?"
"What's happening? Why can't I go forward?" Flawless demanded, her anger rising.
Alpha frowned, not sure how to answer that question. Looking to the side, she saw the cause of the issue, which was none other than Fractured Note, using his magic to halt them. Even if he was the former Lich King and was no longer a Lich but just a unicorn, he still retained a tremendous amount of knowledge in magic and kept some of his Lich Traits. Though his power had weakened, he would always be skilled in his arts. He could cast powerful and ancient spells, making him the perfect candidate to hold the Institute off from attacking or moving in.
"Father!" Dimstar looked over at her father.
"Hm-hm. Don't get too heated, daughter. It'll make your attacks hit harder but you'll lose focus. For a Lich, rage is a detriment." He would give her some pointers, despite having stepped down from the throne, his daughter would need all the advice she could get to win this battle.
Dimstar smiled, nodding her head in response. "Thank you, father."
"And besides. Your Sister is always in tune with her emotions. Isn't that right, Merry?" Fractured Note smirked as he referred to Merry Dread, who was about to make her move.
In the distance Merry Dread was locked onto the Arcane Institute, getting a good look at them. Once all of them were in a good enough position, she could finally use her magic. "I've got them in my sights...No!" With a glare, she would start interacting with their bones, aiming to control the students and the Soul Clones, preventing them from taking another step or even forcing their bodies to shut down. Her skeletal puppets, and her sister's tendrils would combine to restrain their foes.
"Gh! Gagh!" Flawless was the first to feel it, her teeth clenching and her eyes growing wide as she felt her entire body seize. The others were in the process of succumbing to the same fate. Each of the students of the institute and the two Soul Clones were falling victim to this, their bodies becoming paralyzed, unable to act, or speak or react.
"What's...what's happening?" Beta could only ask in horror as her body froze.
"Can't...move!" A Zeta added. Both of their Pokemon would also be affected, frozen stiff and forced to endure this paralysis, the magic seeping in their flesh and freezing their insides and blood. They couldn't move an inch or fight back, nor could their bodies respond to the command of their minds to resist this spell. They were completely trapped, at the mercy of Merry Dread.
And because of this, Merry Dread would have them all turn against each other, forcing them to fight. Pokemon vs. Trainer, Clone against Clone, student vs. student and sister against sister. All of them were now fighting, and the chaos would ensue, screams would fill the battlefield as they would strike at their allies. Some of them were being attacked at once, and some of their attacks would clash in a huge explosion of light that blinded those watching the spectacle.
This would happen repeatedly. Students of the Arcane Institute and their Pokémon were now under the influence of this malicious power, and would attack one another. This was the true might of Merry Dreard's magic. The students would attempt to struggle and break free of her hold on their bones. Some of them would have their Pokemon try and attack, but their efforts would prove fruitless.
With them fighting each other and wearing each other down, the vampires took the opportunity to restrain their opponents with a combination of bone restraints, tendrils, and the powers of the Shadow King and the Nightmare. Fractured Note would use the dark energy to create a shadowy prison to keep the students bound and restrained, the dark force keeping their bodies still and holding their arms to the sides of their torso and pinning their feet to the ground.
The BlueLight Sisters would also have their manes wrapped in the dark, smoky, purple and red bindings that were attached to their horn, preventing them from casting a single spell without suffering the effects of their actions. Their eyes were covered in darkness and they couldn't see. The three of them would scream at the top of their lungs, unable to comprehend what had happened, or how this could have transpired.
They would also have a veil of mist surrounding them, leaving them unable to sense or see their surroundings, rendering their telepathic powers useless. As a result of their lack of senses, they were left vulnerable and susceptible to their foes' manipulations.
"Alright! Once they're all kept perfectly restrained, one of you call for Princess Celestia!" Fractured Note spoke out.
"You won't be calling anyone...!" Alpha said while her body was wrapped by the magic. Despite her bones being manipulated, she was still fighting against it. Her eyes would glow once more. Her left eye would have Sombra's magic while her right had Galela's magic, the two glowing aggressively.
She would use the darkness of Magehold to her advantage, fully embracing it and using its dark powers. The shadow spears were aimed at her and everyone else in the immediate vicinity. They would hover in the air, poised to strike, ready to be flung at a moment's notice. She would unleash them on her enemies in the form of a deadly volley. The darkness would surge through her, empowering her and giving her an incredible burst of speed and strength, allowing her to attack swiftly, with precision and devastating results.
"Huh?! But that's impossible! I have her bones!" Merry Dread spoke from a far distance.
Alpha's power was immense, her magic was so great that she was able to tear through her binds. She was no longer chained up or held in place. The same would happen to the rest of her team, who would regain control of their limbs and be freed of their bindings.
And so, Alpha would unleash the full force of her power, sending forth the shadowy barrage upon her opponents. They were caught off guard as Dimstar would try using her tendrils to block, deflect, destroy or catch them. But the overwhelming number of projectiles and the sheer intensity of the attack was too much, leaving the tendrils broken and shredded and their wielder vulnerable. Fractured Note and his daughter were forced to the side, narrowly avoiding a direct hit from the assault of shadows, but the blast sent them tumbling to the side, the force and the impact from the crash sending a tremor across the landscape.
"Dimstar, Father!" Merry Dread screamed in horror from the distance, hoping that her family wasn't badly hurt.
"With Sombra's magic, the Darkness is something that benefits me, easily." Alpha said, removing the remaining bindings from her body. She started walking forward, having the darkness flow out of her some more. "My body has been attuned to various forms of magic. I was made to ensure the destruction of the most powerful trainer to ever exist. One that is capable of destroying the entire universe. There is nothing I cannot find my way out of."
As she spoke to the vampires, the Darkness would suddenly envelop her body, transforming Alpha. They all looked on in awe and shock as Alpha started changing. She was getting taller and her hair was darker, cloaked in shadows. The very essence of Sombra and the Umbrum filled her, the power and the fury of his Dark Magic. His rage and malice and everything about him was flowing into the soul of a clone, turning her from a normal human to a massive, towering human entity, an avatar of the Darkness itself with the presence and aura of Sombra, but in a feminine manner.
The BlueLight Sisters and the Soul Clones of the Arcane Institute would stare in wonder, in fear and amazement as the power emanating from Alpha had increased drastically.
Mount Evertop. Hall of Nova Legends.
Elsewhere, in the Hall of Nova Legends, The Wonderbolts' conflict Grogar and his small group had begun. Despite him having no body and having his soul in a device, Professor Grogar still proved to be a powerful force, able to use his magic in a horrible state. The magic pressure stunned Rainbow Dash, Spitfire, Soarin' and all the other Wonderbolts that were in attendance.
"Mien...!" Rainbow Dash's Mienshao got on one knee while Spitfire's Scizor could feel his pincers shake. Soarin's Torkoal would try and stay in the air as all the other Pokemon of the Wonderbolts would also have their spirits crushed by this feeling of intense power.
With them in such a state, the four students would capitilize on this weakness, sending magical chains at them, wrapping them around their limbs and wings. This would leave the Flying-Type Pokemon grounded and would prevent the trainers from escaping or even struggling. These were no ordinary chains, these were made to capture and subdue even the most unruly and strong-willed creatures and individuals, including their Pokémon partners. These chains would bind their bodies and render the Pokémon immobile and unable to fight back.
"Foolish Wonderbolts. If you were wise, you would understand the threat that needs to be expunged. But much like how your Unilight, your loyalty to your Princess is invincible." Professor Grogar would chuckle, his voice echoing in the air as the students of the Arcane Institute would step aside. "Grab it!"
"On it!" One of the unicorns would advance towards the Soul Dew contained in the tube, her horn shining bright to open the lock on the glass chamber.
"Ngh...It's not just spirit that we're invincible in! It's everything else!" Rainbow Dash growled while trying to break free. But she just couldn't. However, she could count on Mienshao. "Mienshao!"
"Mien...!" Mienshao was the only one that could grant the Wonderbolts a way to break free. She would manifest the Aura within her body, using it to push back against the pressure. With her teeth clenched, her veins showing and her eyes twitching, Mienshao managed to break free, leaping into the air at full force. "Shao!"
"Hm"? Professor Grogar noticed.
Once she was free, the Martial Arts Pokemon would use Aura Sphere, generating a quick sphere that she would launch at the unicorn. While her back was turned, the unicorn was struck by the Aura Sphere.
"GAGH!" The unicorn's focus on the tube was broken as she was struck. Her body would tumble and roll across the floor, crashing into a pillar afterwards. From that one attack, she was out cold. "Ugh..."
"Hoh? You used Aura to break out of it? Impressive..." Grogar had to give his props.
"Mien!" Mienshao would pose after landing, staring at the remaining three.
"R-Rainbow Dash...!" Spitfire tried breaking free as well, but alas, she and the other Wonderbolts didn't have enough Aura or something similar to break free. So, right now, it was up to Rainbow Dash and Mienshao.
"Don't worry, everypony! I'll free you all! First, Mienshao and I will put the smackdown on them!"
"Shao!"
"Heheh. You won't succeed." Another student would say. Her and the other two students unleashed their Pokemon. The Mawile from before, along with a Druddigon and a Seismitoad would come from the ground and from their Pokéballs.
"G-Good luck...!" Spitfire muttered, still feeling Grogar's magic pushing her down. "Ngh..."
"Get her! Use Iron Head, Mawile!"
"Dragon Tail, Druddigon!"
Go, Seismitoad! Use Liquidation!"
"Maw!" All three of them approached Mienshao at the same time, preparing their attacks in sync, striking in unison, aiming for their foe and trying to bring her down, attempting to overpower her with a combination of physical force and elemental strikes.
"Use Close Combat!"
"Shao!" Mienshao would try and fight them off with the best ofher abilities. As the trio approached, the Bouncer Pokemon would throw punches and kicks at her foes. Even when Mawile would strike, she'd dodge it and kick the Deceiver Pokemon's head and strike at her horns, damaging them. Next was Druddigon, who's tail was met with a fist from her, which was a struggle to keep the Cave Pokemon from hitting her. Lastly, Mienshao would leap into the air and jump over Seismotoad's fists. In an attempt to evade her enemy's attack, she would spin midair, and use High Jump Kick to hit the ball-bearing in the frog's throat, causing damage. This was the weakest point in a Vibration Pokemon and could stop its sound waves. And it worked!
"Mienshao! Keep going!" Rainbow Dash cheered her partner on.
The three students would growl. "That's not important! Get the Soul Dew already!" They would let their Pokemon handle Mienshao while they focus on the Soul Dew. Together, they would gallop towards the tube, their horn glowing and combining their magical power.
"Like I'd let you!" Torkoal! Earthquake!" Soarin groaned.
"T-Tor...!" Even though he was stuck, Torkoal could still use his moves. And in this case, he could create an earthquake. He wouldn't be able to make the building crumble, but he could rattle it and shake up the inside. Because of the pressure, the earthquake would be localized and would only affect a certain spot. But it was strong enough to shake things up. "Koooooal!" He roared. By pressing his feet down just a bit, further helped by the magical pressure by accident, he got the move off.
"W-Woah!" The trio would lose balance, tripping and falling over, their bodies tumbling around. Their momentum and magic were disrupted, leaving the trio of Pokémon momentarily disoriented. "Guh!" They would land on the ground, their heads spinning. It was difficult for them to get up, the shaking and rattling caused them to stumble and trip again. The quake continued, and they struggled to stand up, the force and the energy of the vibrations was so great.
"Torkoal!"
"Use Earthquake as well, Seismitoad!"
"Seis!" But Seismitoad knew a thing or two about vibrations. It was classified as the Vibration Pokemon after all. When the earthquakes were in sync, they would eventually cancel out. And that's exactly what happened.
"Mien!" Then it was struck by a swift chop from Mienshao, the Martial Arts Pokemon following it up by kicking her in the chest and knocking her down. Seismitoad's mouth would widen as its body was sent flying to a wall, cracking it upon impact and making an imprint. Once that was done, the pillar came down on Seismitoad, the rubble landing on its Trainer as well.
"If I break that device, I bet your magic won't work anymore on them! Go after the device, Mienshao!"
"Mieeeeeennnshao!!!" The Martial Arts Pokemon Pokemon would dash towards the device that was on Grogar's device. But Grogar wasn't having any of that and would unleash an array of beams at the Pokemon. Mienshao's muscles tensed and she grit her teeth, managing to avoid the incoming lasers. The room exploded with flashes of light, creating an intense and dramatic scene.
Mienshao quickly adapted, moving at incredible speeds and using her agility and reflexes to her advantage. She leaped from side to side, evading the laser beams as best as she could. Despite the chaos and the explosions, she pressed forward. A laser grazed her shoulder, causing her to flnch.
"Mienshao...!"
"Fool." Grogar boasted, releasing more beams at Mienshao.
"Deflect them!"
"Shao!" Focusing on her defences, Mienshao would start deflecting the lasers back at the source. The Martial Arts Pokemon's arms moved at rapid speeds, the lasers coming in from various directions, trying to overwhelm her. Mienshao would spin and twirl around, her arms extended, deflecting the lasers and sending the energy bursts right back at Grogar's device, hoping to disable it.
"Use Dragon Claw, Druddigon!"
"Drudd!" Drudd would try and attack while Mienshao was deflecting, prompting Rainbow Dash to take immediate action.
"Quick, Mienshao! Aura Sphere!"
"Mien...Shao!" Mienshao would then swerve her body, avoiding the other lasers while conjuring up an Aura Sphere in her claw. Promptly, she would smash the attack on the ground, causing a strong outburst merged with a burst of dust and rock to send a massive blast that would engulf the whole room, blowing everyone back. Rainbow would shut her eyes and look away from the blinding light, and so would her friends, the other Wonderbolts.
But it was a clever play from Mienshao. Not only did it knock her opponents back while also keeping her friends safe, but it ensured that the Aura would break Grogar's Magical Pressure, freeing the Wonderbolts and the other Pokemon from its grip, granting the chance to strike. "Perfect! Scizor, go!" Spitfire yelled. Scizors' pincer glowed. He launched himself forward, ready to attack. His opponent, Druddigon, prepared itself. Scizor flew through the air, unleashing its Night Slash. Drudd was taken by surprise, knocked to the side, its head crashing to a pillar, destroying it and the rubble fell onto her.
And as a bonus, the tube containing the Soul Dew had shattered thanks to this massive blowback and destruction.
"One of you! Grab the Soul Dew and leave with it!" Spitfire ordered.
"I'm on it, chief!" Misty Fly would take it from here. "Charizard, let's get out of here!"
"Char!" With that, Misty Fly's Charizard would carry the pegasus while also grabbing the Soul Dew, snatching it from its spot."
"You will not escape! Throw me!" Grogar ordered. "I can use my magic to move myself in this state!"
"Yes, Professor!" The one student would launch him at the duo, Grogar being flung across the battlefield. His presence was intimidating, and he unleashed a barrage of magical projectiles aimed directly at the escaping pair, his goal clear – to stop their getaway at all costs.
Charizard maneuvered swiftly to shield both the trainer and the precious item in their possession. The heat of battle intensifying, Grogar's relentless onslaught tested their resolve. Determined to protect their cargo, Charizard, while holding onto his trainer, would unleash Fire Blasts to counter the projectiles, creating an explosive showdown in the heart of the institute. As the flames clashed, the race for the Soul Dew intensified, a desperate dance between Grogar and the fleeing duo, each fighting tooth and nail for a crucial piece of the puzzle.
With the Wonderbolts' efforts concentrated on evading the traps, the atmosphere grew increasingly intense. Each narrow escape from the elaborate contraptions heightened the tension, pushing the group to their limits. Their teamwork and precision became paramount in their relentless pursuit to uncover the truth and complete their objective.
"Mienshao! Keep them busy! I'll help out Misty Fly!" Rainbow Dash requested, leaving the rest to Mienshao and the others. She was easily the fastest pegasus here despite not being the captain, so she felt that it would be safer if she went with Misty Fly as backup. Rainbow Dash took off while Mienshao and her allies stared down the only two Pokemon remaining.
Rainbow Dash was already bound to catch up at the speed she was moving at, especially when Grogar would throw projectiles at the duo. Charizard's Fire Blasts were unable to find a proper opening. Grogar was surprisingly precise despite his current state, throwing whatever was nearby.
"Rainbow Dash!" Misty Fly spotted her up ahead.
"Hold on! I'm coming! Castform, use Energy Ball!"
"Cast!" Flying out of Rainbow Dash's Saddebag, the Weather Pokemon would unleash a green orb at the professor, only for Grogar to evade it thanks to his small size in this state.
"You meddling kids..." Grogar growled, wanting a physical body so badly right now. But all of these interruptions were starting to irritate him. He wanted to feel the world once more while also fulfilling his goal of destroying Prisma. But he couldnt do it so as long as Celestia's forces keep getting in his way. "You will not stop me from reaching my goal. No matter how much you wish to protect all 10 of them!"
Angered, Grogar had enough. As the device he moved around in started glowing, Charizard and Castform released another Fire Blast and Energy Ball, attempting to destroy the device. If they attack the same time and pincer Grogar, it would be a sure-fire hit in their eyes.
However, that would not happen.
From the device, Grogar's magic would expand outwards. A gold and black magic would erupt aggressively in the shape of a ferocious sphere, meeting with the two attacks. Fire Blast and Energy Ball were instantly consumed by the power and the resulting explosion. The blast pushed everyone back, a wave of force that had an overwhelming strength. Misty Fly held onto her partner tightly, her wings beating hard to maintain their position in the air. Charizard grunted, feeling the pressure of the wind and the force that tried to knock him back. Rainbow Dash was the same. The energy wave swept through the room, shattering windows, and tearing through the walls, sending chunks of concrete flying in every direction.
The powerful blast tore through the area like a hurricane, wreaking havoc on anything in its path, shaking the very foundation of the place and leaving destruction in its wake. The sheer intensity of the explosion sent a shockwave rippling outward, creating an expanding dome of destruction that threatened to consume everything in its radius. The sound of the blast was deafening, echoing in the ears of all present, as the chaos continued to unfold, engulfing the area in an uncontrollable surge of power.
Rainbow Dash, Misty Fly, Charizard and Castform were fully enveloped and launched back by this outburst, their bodies crashing through some pillars and even hitting their backs against the walls, debris falling on them. Both Pegasi groaned in pain, their Pokemon too. Luckily, the Soul Dew wasn't harmed. Just as Grogar intended. "Guh...w-what the..."
"I will not be denied. Not again. My mission is far too important and vital. This world must not be in the same fate that befell our old universe. I cannot allow that." Grogar spoke as the device would approach the fallen Soul Dew.
"Ngh...Gh...!" Rainbow Dash groaned, trying to get back up in time as her Wonderbolt suit was ruined. The armor was dented, and her uniform was in bad condition. "N-Not so fast...!" Her voice was weak. It was clear that she was exhausted, and that last hit was a powerful one, almost knocking her out cold, yet the pony refused. She had a job to do and she would not let the Professor win.
"You may have the strength and willpower, that's for certain. However..." The Soul Dew would start to hover, slowly floating in the air, ascending upwards, "...you are nothing but an annoyance. An ant to step on, and an insect to crush." The device would lower its altitude, stopping. Grogar would levitate the object towards the device.
In response, the machine's glass window began to glow, and the capsule opened. Inside, a strange substance oozed, a dark and slimy material that seemed to pulsate with an eerie energy. Grogar's essence was being transferred, the ooze dripping from the open capsule, pooling in a circular pattern on the floor beneath. With a flash of magic, the liquid surged, forming an intricate and unsettling sigil that spanned the entire area.
Then, it vanished into the depths below, leaving no trace of its existence behind, the portal closing immediately after. At the same time, the container of the device was now full with the strange, glowing blue fluid, and the capsule sealed itself, the liquid within becoming an eerie, shimmering substance. And finally, a new body was created from that same ooze, a shadowy form that stood tall and imposing.
"Finally...Hahaha...!" Grogar could be heard laughing as a body was finally taking form. They failed to stop him from retrieving the Soul Dew. And now, Professor Grogar, using the soul of the Main Universe Grogar, would finally have a body. Ab ody that he would use to see that his goal is complete.
As the journey continues.
