The Magic of Hatred

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Unilight. Velestra Ascent. Day.

Ash and the others were now in the midst of the Star Trials, finding themselves in the Velestra Ascent. A massive mountainous area with various winds of nebula, meteors that rose from the ground and stars that fell from the ground. But now, that was the least of their problem as a Monstrified Tyrantrum was here, ready for absolute destruction.

Attacking them immediately, it would use Stone Edge. A large amount of stone would jut out of the ground, heading towards them. Ash and the others would quickly move out of the way, avoiding the stones as they came down on them. The group would avoid the stones as they came down on them. They were fast, and the stones came down on them quickly.

After that, Tyrantrum would use Dragon Claw, sending out a wave of energy that would cut through the air. Ash and the others would be cut by the energy as they tried to avoid it. It was a powerful attack, and it would send them flying.

Ash and the others would be sent flying. They would quickly get up, but the Tyrantrum was already coming at them again. It was fast and powerful. It was using its speed to its advantage. Ash and the others were having trouble avoiding its attacks. It was using its speed and power to its advantage. They were being overwhelmed. It was too much for them.

"Charizard! Use Flamethrower!"

"Ho-oh! Use Sacred Fire!"

"Dragonite! Use Dragon Claw!"

"Char!" "Ohhh!" "Dra!"

Three of the Pokemon unleashed their attacks, the fire burning into Tyrantrum's body and the Dragon Claws cutting into it. Tyrantrum was being overwhelmed. It was taking a lot of damage. It was being pushed back. It was being hurt. Even though it was resistant to rock and Monstrified at the same time, attacks from these powerful Pokemon were still mighty. Plus, the Dragon Claw was something to worry about.

But it was still strong. The flames were burning into its body, but it was still standing. It was still strong. It was still powerful. It was still a threat. It was still a danger.

It would roar loudly, causing a shockwave to shake the landscape once more. From its body, it used one of the unique traits it received due to being transformed by Grogar. It would roar, letting out a deafening roar that summons molten magma from the earth, erupting around it in geysers of fire and lava.

"It can do that now?!" Lucas gasped. Celestia would get in front of them all, using her magic to shield them from the erupting fire and lava that would burst out from the ground. It was incredibly hot, and it was burning at the ground. It was trying to burn them. Celestia would hold her hands together, creating a magical barrier around them. The barrier would protect them from the fire, but it was getting hot. Celestia was struggling to maintain the barrier.

"What did you do that Tyrantrum?!" Celestia exclaimed, speaking to Twilight Luminaria while using her Royal Canterlot Voice to be heard some more.

"I didn't do this. Professor Grogar did. You can thank his expertise in magic for making this creature." Twilight Luminaria explained. "When our universe was still around, he spent years working on a formula that would help draw out a Pokemon's inner potential far quicker than it usually does. Monstrification is what he calls it."

"What...#? So your Grogar is a creator of monsters as well..." Celestia snarled.

"With Monstrification, the inner potential of a Pokemon is unleashed. They can go beyond their limits and tap into powers they never had before. But it's not a pretty sight. It can drive them mad and turn them against their trainers." Twilight Luminaria explained. "You see, the Monstrification process is the process of drawing out a Pokemon's inner potential, but it is also a process of madness. The Pokemon becomes more powerful, yes, but it also loses its mind and its sanity, becoming a mindless beast that will kill anyone or anything in its path. It becomes a monster. Which is why only the best Trainers must be permitted to use Monstrification. With the return of Unilight, that can happen once more."

"That poor Tyrantrum..." Sci-Twi shuddered.

"Don't be mistaken. It's a Wild Tyrantrum. It has no Trainer. It simply exists to do my bidding and ensure the defeat of Prisma. Now, Tyrantrum. Crush them."

"RANTRUM!" Tyrantrum would leap into the air, leaving behind a shockwave while doing so. The Tyrantrum would land on the ground, causing the ground to shake once more. Ash and the others would be knocked off balance. The crowd cheered, eager to see them fall. Tyrantrum would use Head Smash, the move being a devastating blow that would send them flying.

"Charizard! Use Blast Burn!"

"Char!" Calem's Charizard would use the move, unleashing a powerful blast of fire that would burn Tyrantrum. It was a powerful blast, but it was not enough to stop it. "Charizard! Use Fire Blast!" Charizard would use the move, unleashing a powerful blast of fire that would engulf Tyrantrum. It was a powerful blast, but it was not enough to stop it.

"TYRA!" Using Crunch Tyrantrum's jaw opened wide, revealing a row of sharp teeth, which glowed with a crimson aura. It then bit the ground itself, its jaws infused with tectonic energy that creates shockwaves upon impact, shattering the ground and causing widespread destruction.

Dragonite and all those that could fly would ascend, having the Trainers all on their backs. They would all take to the sky, avoiding the destruction that would occur. The crowd cheered, excited to see them fall. The Tyrantrum would continue to bite into the ground, causing more and more destruction. The area was being destroyed, but they were still able to avoid it.

"We'll have to calm Tyrantrum down then! Passion!" Celestia cried out, her Poke Ball appearing out of a flash of magic. And out of it emerged Passion.

"Gardevoir!" She bellowed upon arriving, letting out a beautiful light that prompted Tyrantrum to look up and stare at her with confusion. It would stop biting the ground for a moment to observe the Gardevoir that was floating in the air, surrounded by a beautiful light.

Tyrantrum would be confused, staring at her. Passion would slowly descend, coming close to the Tyrantrum. She would then gently touch his head, causing a wave of calming energy to flow through it. Tyrantrum would close its eyes, feeling the energy that was flowing through it. The crowd would look confused, wondering what was happening. Passion would continue to calm the Tyrantrum, its rage slowly fading away.

"Passion's an expert at this. If she can just get inside its head, she can bring Tyrantrum back to its normal state." Celestia explained to the others. "She's done it to all kinds of Pokemon. Be it a raging Pokemon or a Legendary one that's been driven mad with anger.

"Can she really do that?" Sunset asked.

"I know about Grogar. It sounds like even Unilight's Grogar worked on creating monsters. Our Grogar did the same. In fact, Ash, a majority of monsters you've seen in the Everfree Forest are Grogar's creations. He created many of them, scattering them across Equestria and even beyond" Celestia explained.

"Seriously...?" Ash gasped.

"Luckily, with all the knowledge I know about him, there is a way to reverse it. For the longest, I was unable to do so, but now that Passion and I have grown, I believe I'm capable of casting the spell that can undo the Monstrification."

"Garde..." Passion smiled.

"As if it will be that easy." Twilight Luminaria uttered.

"TRAAA!" Tyrantrum roared, getting angrier and angrier. It would then unleash a powerful attack, using Hyper Beam. The beam of energy would shoot out of its mouth and hit the ground, causing an explosion that would shake the landscape. The Tyrantrum was still enraged, and it would continue to attack. The beam of energy would continue to shoot out of its mouth, causing an explosion that would shake the landscape. Tyrantrum was still enraged, and it would continue to attack. The beam of energy would continue to shoot out of its mouth, causing an explosion that would shake the landscape. Tyrantrum was still enraged, and it would continue to attack.

"Garde!" Passion would be sent flying, only to be caught by Celestia.

Celestia would then unleash a powerful spell, one that would freeze the Tyrantrum in place. It would be unable to move. It would be unable to attack. It would be unable to do anything. Celestia would then cast another spell, one that would cause a barrier to form around the Tyrantrum. It would be unable to break free. It would be unable to escape.

"This'll keep it from moving." Celestia stated. "But it won't be long. That thing's going berserk with power. Now, Passion!"

"Voir!" Passion flew towards Tyrantrum once more, hoping to calm it down. She would target his mind, sending Psychic and Magical waves through it. She would then enter his mind, seeing the chaos that was inside of it. She would try to calm it, but it was too much. It was too chaotic. Tyrantrum's mind was filled with rage and fury. It was a storm of emotions. It was a whirlwind of anger. It was a tornado of hatred.

All thanks to Grogar's Magic. It was driving its anger, but not just for the sake of being angry. It was the rage towards Prisma. All the rage was because of the threat of Prisma. That's why this Tyrantrum was transformed. To destroy him. That's why the Monstrification process was completed, so that the Tyrantrum would be strong enough to destroy him.

"Gardevoir?!" Passion gasped when feeling this before being pushed by a magical shockwave, that would send her flying back to Celestia once more. "Garde?"

"The Magic is full of hatred?!" Celestia translated. Due to that hatred, trying to return Tyrantrum to normal was harder than expected.

"Tyrantrum feels it too. The hatred we all have for Prisma." Twilight Luminaria spoke. "The weight of it all is within its body, fueling its form and its reason for its actions. But it's not just Tyrantrum. All Pokemon Grogar has monstrified feel the same way. Their hatred towards him fuels them. They won't rest until he's defeated. And that includes the remaining incarnations of him, including his soul."

"But Tyrantrum has nothing to do with this! Neither do the Pokemon you've transformed!" Celestia argued, shouting to the sky. "Leave them out of this!"

"Negatory. Now, try and make it out of this one. Get them, Tyrantrum!"

"Tyran!" Tyrantrum would charge forward, targeting every last one of them with pure hatred in its eyes.

"Pikachu, use Iron Tail!" Ash bellowed.

"Pika!" Pikachu leapt off Dragonite and landed on the ground, his tail glowing. "Chu...Pika!" He would then slam his tail into the ground, causing a shockwave that would stagger Tyrantrum for a moment.

"Passion, use Dazzling Gleam!"

"Voir!" Passion followed up by throwing a sphere of rainbows forward. The sphere then expanded in size and turned into a massive rainbow. This rainbow would then engulf the Tyrantrum and its body would start to glow in a multitude of colours, blinding the creature and everyone else around it.

"If we can't calm it down that way, then we'll use brute force!" Celestia decided for the more upfront option. "Dazzling Gleam one more time!"

"Dragonite, use Dragon Claw!" Ash pointed forward as did Red, saying nothing to his Charizard. Dragonite, Charizard and Gardevoir would fly towards Tyrantrum, having their attacks ready for an up-close impact.

But Tyrantrum wouldn't allow it. It charged at them, swinging its tail at the trio. Passion would evade the tail swipe, while Dragonite blocked it with her Dragon Claw. Tyrantrum's Tail Swipe would shoot out pure energy, converting them into rays as they pushed Dragonite back. The rays then went after Charizaard, who sliced them apart in midair with a slash of his claws.

Passion would slam the Dazzling Gleam down on Tyrantrum's head, causing a rainbow explosion in the process. Tyrantrum's head would be covered in a rainbow, rendering him temporarily blind.

"Tyran!" Now blinded, Dragonite and Charizard both flew in, slashing at Tyrantrum at the same time. Both of their Dragon Claws would cut into the Tyrantrum's body, causing him to stumble backwards. But that was not enough to stop him. Its strength was immense. Its power was immense. Its might was immense. It would not let itself be stopped. Not until the job was done. Until Prisma was destroyed.

As the two dragons continued to attack, Tyrantrum would swing its tail at them again. His tail would slam into their bodies, sending them flying. As they flew, their tails would slam into the ground, sending them sliding along the surface. Tyrantrum would then stomp on the ground, sending a shockwave that would send the two of them flying.

Afterwards, Tyrantrum would try and smack Passion, only for her to teleport away. Suddenly, Tyrantrum unleashed that rage within, converting it into energy that it could use as an attack. The group watched as its entire body glowed red, the same red colour that the sky was. Pure anger. Pure hatred. Pure rage. That's what was going through its body, and now it would unleash it upon the challengers. The challengers that stood in its way.

"Get out of the way!" Celestia shouted, prompting the other flyers to get higher. Tyrantrum was charging up a move that would have a huge blast radius. Everyone would ascend to avoid the blast, but suddenly, stars and meteors would come crashing down, getting in the way and forcing the fliers to dodge and weave past the debris, making them lose momentum.

"TYRANTRUM!" With a loud roar, an enormous ball of fire would materialize, expanding to an incredible size. Then, the ball of fire would explode, releasing a massive shockwave that would destroy the landscape and anyone near it. A wave of heat, flame and pressure would wash over the landscape.

"Garde...VOIR!" Countering this, Passion would put her all into her Psychic, pulling her arm back while seeing the wave of rage come her way. With enough build up, she thrust her arm forward, unleashing her own powerful wave of psychic energy that would clash with the wave of fire.

Thankfully, Passion managed to over the wave, causing her Psychic Energy to reach Tyrantrum. The Rock-Dragon-Type cried out as it felt the intense Psychic Energy reach and strike its body, causing an onslaught of inner outbursts.

"T-TY! TYRAN!" Tyrantrum cried out when feeling the outbursts from within. They were so powerful that they even reached the skies, clearing them of all the stars by dispersing and deflecting them elsewhere. Everyone was shocked to see the sky cleared, the sun shining through. Tyrantrum was on the ground, fainted.

"Phew, that was close." Ash sighed in relief.

"No kidding...Man that Tyrantrum could take a hit." Ethan commented.

"Gardevoir..." Passion was exhausted, the Psychic Energy used to help her counter the attack took a lot out of her. But her energy would eventually replenish. Rather quickly too.

"You did great." She praised her. "Now let's undo this Monstrification spell. After that, we'll finish this first stage of the trial and move on." Celestia turned towards the Tyrantrum, hoping to undo the spell.

As the summit and the spire in the distance, it was still untouched. All they had to do was reach it and now, with nothing else in their way, they could finally clear this first trial and move onto the next, which would obviously be harder than this one.

But as Celestia went over to Tyrantrum, all of a sudden, as soon as she came near it, Tyrantrum would suddenly awaken, its eyes opening and its rage exploding from its body, engulfing Celestia.

"GAH!" The Ruler of Equestria screeched as she was caught off guard, taking the full force of this outburst up close. Her body would be engulfed in devastating magic, forcing her to the ground.

"Celestia!" They all cried out in shock.

"Voir!" Passion cried out, watching her trainer being burned by the magic. Her body was twitching aggressively, the magic crackling around her as it burned her body and soul.

"It got back up?! How?!" Nate questioned.

"It's the Hatred." Twilight Luminaria's voice returned. "You see, in Unilight, we have many unique forms of magic that we can call our own. And one of them is the Magic of Hatred. Think of it as the opposite to the Magic of Friendship, Family and all things related to it. The hatred for Prisma is so great that even if knocked down, Tyrantrum will get back up. As long as there's even the slightest bit of hatred left, it'll keep coming at you."

"The Magic of Hatred..." Sci-Twi shuddered at those words while Passion flew over to her trainer's side. She then clutched her Arceus Pendant, her lips quivering for a moment.

"Something like that exists...?" said Lucas.

"It was originally a concept formed by Giratina, but eventually, it leaked onto our world and became a part of us. Truth is, the Magic of Hatred was rare to see. Unilight was always so peaceful after all. If only we had known what Prisma would do, then that magic would've helped us greatly. But now that we have this second chance, we won't waste it. Bare witness to the most terrifying magic in existence."

"Gardevoir..." She gasped, holding onto Celestia.

"D-Don't worry...about me..." Celestia winced. "Go...go and get to the summit. Carry me there with you..."

"RANITAR!" Tyrantrum roared, running towards them while Celestia's body twitched and struggled against the Magic of Hatred. It would then use another Head Smash, the ground shattering as it charged towards them.

"Charizard, use Flamethrower!"

"Char!" Charizard would unleash his Flamethrower, the stream of fire hitting the charging Tyrantrum. The Rock-Dragon-Type wouldn't be fazed by this, instead charging through the flames. Its body was protected by a powerful barrier, rendering the fire useless.

"Dragonite, use Hurricane!"

"Drago!" Dragonite would unleash the powerful storm, surrounding the Tyrantrum with a vortex of wind. The hurricane would continue to swirl around, increasing in intensity. It would lift Tyrantrum off the ground, spinning it around in the air. Then, it would slam Tyrantrum into the ground, causing a powerful shockwave that would shatter the ground and cause cracks to form.

"Tyran!" Tyrantrum would roar as it got up, glaring at them.

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"

"Pika!" Pikachu would unleash the Thunderbolt, the bolt of electricity striking Tyrantrum. It wouldn't do much, but it did stagger the Pokemon.

"Celestia..." Passion would hold onto her trainer, wincing as she saw the pain she was going through. The Magic of Hatred was strong. It was powerful. It was relentless. And speaking of hatred, Passion was already furious, wanting to get back for Celestia. But she knew that giving into her rage just wasn't it. She would have to stop it in the best way she knows how.

The crowd cheered, believing that Ash and the others were at an impasse. Tyrantrum would just keep getting back up just out of pure hatred alone. It wouldn't matter how many times they attacked it, Tyrantrum would just keep coming back. But that just meant Ash and the others would have to keep at it until they knock Tyrantrum down for long enough.

"Wait!" However, before they could continue their battle, Sci-Twi got in between the counterparts, glaring at the Tyrantrum.

"Twilight? What are you doing?" Ash questioned.

"Tyran...!" Tyrantrum shook its head, shaking off the electricity and growling at the group. It then spotted Sci-Twi suddenly being in the way while Sunset Shimmer was panicking. What was she was possibly thinking?

"Let me try something, please." She spoke to Ash, wanting to give something a test. Twilight Luminaria actually had to sit up for this. Mainly because this was one of her counterparts at risk. If she perishes, it could comprise her plan to become herself once more. She mostly expected Sci-Twi to be safe during this trial, believing she would do very little.

Sci-Twi faced the Tyrantrum while looking at her Arceus Pendant, her eyes focusing on the center of the necklace.

"Tyrantrum!" Tyrantrum roared at Twilight, stomping towards her as a threat. But Sci-Twi would stand firm. "Tyran...!" Tyrantrum growled, seeing that she wasn't backing down. So, it prepared itself to attack. It would prepare to use Head Smash, but Sci-Twi's pendant suddenly lit up.

"Pika...!" Pikachu gasped as he saw the pendant shine brightly. The Light of Arceus was radiating from the pendant, mezmerizing Tyrantrum for a moment.

"T-Tyran!" Tyrantrum growled as everyone watched Sci-Twi take action, managing to figure something out.

"What?!" Twilight Luminaria gasped at this sight.

"I know you don't want to do this, Tyrantrum! It's the Magic of Hatred that's doing this to you!" Sci-Twi said whilst holding the pendant up at him, letting the light continue to flow, the energy making her hair flow as well. "But...I thought about something Twilight Luminaria said. She said that Giratina's the one who made the concept. So I figured that if Giratina is the reason for the Magic of Hatred, then Arceus's Light could help you!"

"Twilight...!" Sunset gaped at what she was doing.

"You...you must understand how it feels! To be so angry, so hateful, so enraged about someone like Prisma!" She continued, looking into Tyrantrum's eyes. "But I know you don't really feel that way about him! You just want to live your life right now! So let me do that for you, please! And I know I can! I learned some things from Volo...and one of them is that the perfect counter to Giratina is Arceus!"

The light reached its apex as it started attacking the Magic of Hatred from within, rapidly and elegantly attacking it while also trying to soothe Tyrantrum. Sci-Twi's hair would continue to flow, the pendant radiating with immense divine power.

"Pika...!" Pikachu could feel the pendant's power, seeing the light shine brighter.

"R-Ranitar...!" Tyrantrum growled when feeling the light attack the Magic of Hatred, the two energies fighting for dominance. This light would attack the magic directly, preventing it from fueling the Monstrous Tyrantrum anymore.

"There's just no way...That small pendant? It doesn't even have a majority of Arceus's power!" Twilight Luminaria refused to believe. But she very soon would.

"Haaaah!" Sci-Twi's eyes would glow with a Divine Light as the light enveloped the entirety of Tyrantrum's body, forcing it back as it roared out.

"R-RANTRUM!" It roared loudly as the light would envelop its body, forcing the Magic of Hatred to dissipate and weaken. Tyrantrum would cry out as the light continued to shine, it being forced onto its back by the divine light. Tyrantrum would cry out before eventually calming down, its body starting to revert to its original form.

"Tyran...!" Tyrantrum breathed out, its body slowly shrinking as the light kept shining, forcing the Magic of Hatred to be dispersed entirely. The light would then shine around the entire area, getting rid of all of the magic in the air and returning the land to its normal state.

"Rantrum..." Tyrantrum's roar would quieten down as it started to return to normal. "Tyran...Tyrantrum!" Tyrantrum's body would return to its normal size, the light now fading away. The Tyrantrum was now back to its normal self. It had a blue colouration, its body being smaller than before. It had yellow eyes and it was also smiling at Sci-Twi.

"Oh my gosh, it worked!" She gasped, smiling back at him. She had done it. She managed to turn him back to normal.

"I don't believe it! Grogar's Magic and Giratina's Hatred? Each countered?!" Twilight Luminaria gaped in shock.

"Sweet stuff, Twilight!" Ash and his counterparts ran over along with Sunset Shimmer, all while Red stood back with a smile on his face.

"Pika! Pikachu!"

"Oho! Smart thinking there! Why didn't I think of that?!" Lucas said to himself.

"Good job, Twi!" Nate smiled.

"Heck yeah!" Ethan gave her a thumbs up.

"That was too risky...but amazing either way! Don't scare me like that!" Sunset sighed with relief.

"Well...it was nothing, really." Sci-Twi smiled. "I just remembered how Volo taught me a lot. So that's something I actually owe him. Plus, I was kinda just guessing and it looks like my guess was right." She blushed a bit.

"It was amazing regardless." Celestia groaned while being helped up by Passion. "Well done, Twilight."

"Are you alright, Tyrantrum?" Sci-Twi then looked at Tyrantrum, wondering if he was now feeling much better.

"Ran..Tyra..." Tyrantrum muttered a bit, shaking his head. But he would be fine. In fact, he felt better than ever. The light did more than just remove the Magic of Hatred within him. And once he felt this and could feel his true self once more, he looked at Sci-Twi with a deep gaze.

"Ran...Tyran..." Tyrantrum then lowered his head down to her. "Tyran!" He smiled a bit, letting out a roar as if to say, "thank you".

Sci-Twi smiled back, glad to see that he was doing so well. It turned out that the light was able to cure Tyrantrum from all the madness that had overtaken his mind and soul. And that light came from her pendant. That light that was able to overpower the Magic of Hatred was powerful enough to return Tyrantrum to normal and make him remember his true self.

"You're welcome." She smiled at him. Just then, Tyrantrum would lightly nudge Sci-Twi, indicating at something.

"Huh?" She raised a brow, only to see him lean close to her. "Oh..." She blushed a bit, looking into his eyes while the group watched. Then, Tyrantrum would press his snout against hers, giving her a kiss.

"Hah! You got Tyrantrum kiss on your face! Aahaaa!" Hilbert laughed, pointing at Sci-Twi. Sunset couldn't nudge him since he was a spirit, but she could use her magic to twitch his astral body. "GYAH!"

"Tyrantrum...Do you want to help out?" Sci-Twi was starting to understand what he was saying.

"Tyrantrum." Tyrantrum nodded in confirmation. After what Sci-Twi did for him, he wanted to help out and make it right. In fact, more than that, he wanted to be alongside Sci-Twi.

"...Okay!" Sci-Twi nodded in understanding, digging into her bag for one thing. A Poke Ball. "Go! Poke Ball!" She would then throw it at Tyrantrum, the ball enlarging as it went towards him. The ball would then bounce off his head, opening up as it started to suck him in.

"Tyra!" Tyrantrum's body was engulfed in red light before he was sucked into the Poke Ball, the ball falling onto the ground. It would start to shake a bit, going back and forth.

1...2...3...Gotcha! Tyrantrum was caught.

Sci-Twi walked over and picked up the Poke Ball, holding it up as she smiled. "Welcome to the team, Tyrantrum." She smiled. "All that's left is reaching that summit. Shall we?"

Everyone smiled and nodded at her, knowing they had to keep on going. The summit was so close, but they still needed to get there. They all moved out, flying up the rest of the way on their Pokemon.

Twilight Luminaria was visibly annoyed by this, squinting her eyes. She never expected them to get past the first trial, let alone in such a way. Grogar was annoyed and stunned too. A Monstrified Pokemon of his had been undone by a single girl using the power of Arceus, something that shouldn't even be possible.

"It seems that Arceus's light is still potent even at its weakest." Grogar frowned. "I underestimated its abilities. Especially that reincarnation of you, Your Majesty. This...this may be harder than I anticipated." He shook his head. "But no matter. I will simply have to advance with more of my MonstrIfied Pokemon. She can't possibly overcome multiple levels of Hatred."

"That is exactly what I wanted to hear, Grogar." Twilight Luminaria smirked. She then looked back at the screen with a serious look. "If this is how you want it to go...then so be it."

As the journey continues.
