Hope and Grief

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Unilight. Afternoon.

Snuck by a magic from the Original Grogar, Ash, his counterparts and Celestia were all down for the count, taking critical damage to their bodies, especially through their chests, leaving the rest of their friends in shock and horror.

"ASH!" Sci-Twi cried, trying to rush to his aid. But her body was too weak, she was unable to move. She was too drained of energy to even move her legs. "No...No...!" Tears were starting to well up in her eyes, but she couldn't cry. All she could do was watch helplessly as her friend lay there motionless. "Please..." She whispered, trying desperately to summon the strength to move. "Please..." She begged, her voice cracking. "Please..." Her voice trailed off as she began sobbing uncontrollably.

"Pika-Pi...!"

Each of the counterparts were downed while Professor Grogar looked impressed by what his Original Self was able to pull off. Even he didn't know of such a spell.

"An interesting little spell that was able to bypass all defenses and avoid being noticed by any of my opponents. I must say that you have outdone yourself, Grogar." Professor Grogar praised the original who was in his soul.

"And I've only just begun. Allow me to show the extent of what I am able to offer." The voice of the original Grogar said. The crowd was booming with joy upon seeing this sight. They cheered and applauded, celebrating Prisma's potential defeat. The fact that all 9 of them were down was amazing to them. They didn't even care what it took to get here. They only cared that it was done.

Sci-Twi shook Ash, trying to wake him up as she was on her knees and sobbing. She couldn't stand it. Not at all. Seeing the one she cared for deeply like this was tearing her apart. She tried to use what little magic she had left to try and wake him up, but nothing was working. "Come on! Please wake up!" She cried, desperately trying to wake Ash and the others up. She just couldn't accept that they were defeated in such an anticlimactic way. She refused to believe it.

"Pika...Pikachu!" Pikachu tried waking Ash up as well, but to no avail.

"Ash, say something!" Sci-Twi yelled, her voice shaking as tears streamed down her face. She clenched her fists tightly, trying to muster whatever strength she had left inside her to try and revive Ash and the others. "Please...Please..." She pleaded, her voice cracking as she continued to cry. Her heart ached with every second she spent watching them lie there helplessly.

"Red! Wake up!" Sunset went over to Red, trying to get him up as well. But Red did not stir. He remained completely motionless. He was completely unresponsive.

"Garde! Gardevoir!" Passion looked down at Celestia, holding her trainer in her arms. To see her in such a state made her heart ache. It was painful to watch her master in such a state and it was worse since she felt like she failed her.

"Well, how tragic. But absolutely hopeful for us." Grogar mocked, his voice echoing through the area. The crowd cheered even louder. Prisma had been victorious after all. They finally won. All it took was an evil spell to deal with the threat.

"You...!" Sunset growled, looking up at the sky with furious eyes. "You're going to pay for this!" She shouted at Grogar, her horn radiating intense magic. "We'll make you pay!" She screamed, her voice filled with rage and hatred.

"I doubt you will. Your friends will perish and the only thing keeping you alive is because I haven't killed you yet." Grogar stated. "And you're welcome."

"Why...?" Sci-Twi whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks. She looked down at Ash, unable to believe that he was gone. "Why..." She sobbed, her voice breaking. "Why would you do this...?" She asked, her voice cracking as she began to sob uncontrollably. She couldn't control herself anymore. She couldn't hold back. She couldn't hold anything inside of her. She just let it out.

"You know why. To stop Prisma, no matter what. And now, that goal of ours is seeing its near-completion. But even when they've been downed like this, we can't take any chances." Despite the current situation, Grogar still wanted them truly gone. From the dimension, a cluster of stars would appear once more. But they weren't here to take them to the next stage. They were here to collect the bodies of Ash and his counterparts. "Prisma is too dangerous to leave alone, even in that state. To ensure his defeat, the body must be destroyed."

"As if! I won't let you!" Sci-Twi barked, standing up as she refused to let Ash's body be destroyed by anything. She, Pikachu, Sunset and Passion all looked up, standing next to each other to protect their friends. "You won't harm Ash!"

"Even after all that, you still believe you can save them, let alone protect them? How foolish." Grogar shook his head. "Have it your way. You will be disposed off shortly."

To deal with the four of them, Grogar called for another one of his many Monstrified Pokemon. A crack would form in the dimension, summoning this Pokemon here. This time, it appeared to be a Hatterene, but even more terrifying than it already used to be. In its monstrous form, Hatterene evolved into a dark, arcane witch-like entity. Her hat morphed into a towering, structure adorned with wisps of ghostly energy. The "hair" became a network of serpentine tendrils, each tipped with claw-like pincers, constantly writhing.

Hatterene's body, however, grew more serpentine and elongated, covered in a mass of writhing tendrils. She had two sets of arms, the lower set is now small and has claws, while the upper set of arms retained their original size and ended with two long-fingered hands, resembling a human hand. Each arm has a tuft of fur near the shoulders. On her back, Hatterene has a pair of red, bat-like wings that are covered in tendrils. Her mouth is filled with sharp fangs. Her eyes also became larger and can now open up like a venus fly trap.

"This will be enough to deal with the lot of you." Grogar said as Hatterene descended upon the group.

"HATTERENE!" She howled, her cry being so horrifying that it shook the skies and the area itself. The wind started blowing, the clouds darkened and a storm began to rage around the area. A Psychic Storm to be exact. The rain came down hard as lightning would strike. It was a powerful attack that was created by Hatterene.

"Hatterene. Obliterate their bodies. Leave nothing left." Grogar ordered the absolute destruction of Ash and his counterparts, ensuring that they would not have a physical body left behind. "Once they're destroyed along with their individuals souls, then we'll truly be victorious."

"Pika...!" Pikachu snarled at Hatterene, absolutely refusing to let her destroy Ash. Sunset and Sci-Twi took out their respective Poke Balls while Passion promptly put a protective shield around Ash and the others to protect them.

Sci-Twi would wipe away her tears, trying to power through them, but she couldn't help but let them flow. Her hand trembled when she held her Poke Ball, but it didn't stop her from doing what she had to do. Together, she and Sunset threw their Poke Balls upwards, summoning their respective Pokemon.

For Sunset, it was her Volcarona and for Sci-Twi, it was her Alpha Dusknoir. The two Pokemon emerged, ready for battle.

But on the inside, deep within the unconscious counterparts, something else was occurring. The hit they all took was truly critical, putting them down for the count. But not forever. Ash would open his eyes, waking up to find himself in a vast white area, floating around in what appeared to be space. All around him, he saw what seemed to be stars. And he wasn't alone.

Ash looked around, seeing that he wasn't the only one here. His counterparts were here as well.

"What happened? Where am I?" He asked, looking around, unable to see anything other than his counterparts and the stars.

"..." Red looked at his hands, seeing that he was still alive. All of them were.

"Woah..." Ethan felt beyond bewildered, floating around in this void. "Where are we?"

"We're alive." Lucas said, being sure of it.

"Yeah, I get that, but where are we? What happened?" Elio asked.

"I don't know. One moment we're going through the trial and the next..." Calem crossed his arms, being as confused as the rest of them.

"The next, we're here." Nate shrugged. "In this weird place."

"Well, I don't like this." Brendan said, looking around and seeing the various stars all around them. It was as if they were floating in outer space. "But we're still alive. That's good enough for me."

"Heh. Looks like you guys are just like me now." Speaking up was Hilbert, who was still the same. He was still a spirit, smirking at his counterparts as he was completely untouched by all of this.

"Just like you? Y-You don't mean...!" Lucas gasped.

"Ngh..." There was a reason for their survival. A reason that they were able to live on despite that sneak attack. And that reason was Sombra. Ash turned his head, spotting Sombra in this vast white space as the former King of the Crystal Empire looked weakened.

"Sombra!" Ash flew over to Sombra, seeing him writhe in pain. "Sombra! What happened to you?! Are you okay?"

"Not at all..." Sombra replied. "I had to use everything I had to save all of you. That spell would've surely succeeded if I didn't..."

"Sombra...Did you use all of your magic?!" Ash exclaimed, realizing what Sombra had done.

"It was the only option I had. I took a gamble, put pulling off the same trick I did for Hilbert worked it seemed...In exchange for all of my power." Sombra's body would start fizzling all of a sudden, causing Ash to hold onto him.

"Hang in there, Sombra!"

"Listen, boy. From this point on...I can't help you. I was never able to stop Prisma from awakening or even each time he managed to influence you. I wish I could. But I at least managed to save you all. Even then...Prisma would've saved your lives instead, but he would have taken over without a doubt. Right now...the remaining counterparts are all but spirits...much like Hilbert."

"You mean...You turned us into Spirits?!" Elio exclaimed.

"I had to. My deepest apologies." Sombra smirked. "I have plenty of apologies on head due to what I've done...but I hope this is worth it. Turning you all into spirits will keep you around...but now, all of you are a part of Ash. There's nothing more I can do for you..."

"Sombra, don't go!" Ash cried out, fearing that this would be the end of Sombra.

"I'm not going to perish, idiot. I'm just going to rest. With all my magic spent, I am unable to do anything else for you. I cannot influence you or interact from within and outside in any way shape or form. This magic...it is beyond my own. From now on, you will have to be the one to prevent Prisma's absolute awakening, boy."

"Sombra..."

"I know you won't let him win. I know you won't let Twilight Luminaria win either...I originally thought that my failure to find a suitable body and accidentaly ending up in yours was a mistake. But after being one with you and going through your ludicrous adventures...I've come to realize that it was not a mistake. I could not have asked for a better host to be a part of."

"...Sombra." Ash muttered.

"I know you want things to go back to how they were, boy. To enjoy life with your friends and explore the world. Hm. Even other worlds as of recently. But only you can ensure that reality. Don't let Prisma or Unilight take any of that from you...I'm counting on you...Ash." That was the last of Sombra's magic as he would fade away, being unable to act from this point on.

In Ash's hand as Sombra faded away to rest, a black sparkle of magic was left as the last thing. Ash looked at that sparkle of darkness and then clenched his fist. "I promise. I won't let Prisma or Unilight take anything or anyone else from me. I'll make sure of it."

The others couldn't believe what just happened, seeing that Sombra was gone and that they were all spirits. "So...what now?" Brendan said, looking at his hands and seeing that he was just a spirit. He didn't even have a body anymore.

"What are we gonna do? We're stuck here!" Elio exclaimed, looking around. "There's no way out!"

"We can't be stuck here forever, can we?" Calem asked, worried about this new predicament they were in. Things were silent and there was no sign of them breaking free from here. For them to be in this state, all thanks to a sneak attack, was rather disheartening. The fact that Sombra was out of commission didn't help and the thoughts of their friends and everyone else came into mind.

Red was already worried about Sunset Shimmer. He knew she was distraught about this. But he also feared what Adagio what feel like if she finds out. Each of them had their own friends and family that they cared about and refused to let them be upset. After all they've been through, surely they couldn't let this be the end.

"No." Ash shook his head. "I'm gonna wake up. But you guys won't have your bodies anymore. Instead, you'll all be spirits that are in me or fly beside me. I'm sorry that you won't have your bodies anymore..."

"...Hey, man." Lucas suddenly flew over to Ash, placing his hand on his shoulder. "Spirit or not, we're with you."

"Huh?"

"Yeah. This won't stop us. We're counterparts. One in the same. We look out for each other." Brendan grinned. "We're in this together."

"Guys..." Ash looked at everyone. They were all ready to go and follow through with this. Even as spirits, they weren't going to give up.

"Come on! We got a job to do. Let's get to it!" Hilbert cheered.

"You all still wanna go?" Ash asked.

"Of course. We're not giving up because of this." Elio said. "We'll make sure to do everything we can."

"I'll keep Prisma out of you no matter what." Calem assured him. "He won't take control of you anymore."

"We've been by your side this far. We aren't giving up now." Nate smirked. "Let's do this."

"Yeah. And if we do give up, then there'd be no point in trying to save the world." Ethan chuckled. "So let's not give up. Not after this."

"This isn't even that big of a deal." Brendan shrugged. "Plus, now that you'll be the main host from now on, all of our Pokemon are entrusted to you."

"A-All of your Pokemon?!" Ash stuttered. He would be working alongside every single one of their Pokemon. It was almost too much to comprehend.

"Yeah! I bet you'll be able to handle them just fine." Lucas smiled, being sure of it. "You could team up with Hilbert's Pokemon no problem, so ours won't be any different."

"Mhm. We can trust you with our Pokemon, Ash. After all, you're the main one now." Ethan nodded. "It's all up to you from here on out."

"You're us, so we know you'll get along with them well." Ethan nudged Ash. "We're putting our faith in you, man."

"There's only one counterpart of us left. And that's Victor. You gotta find him, Ash, before it's too late!" Brendan exclaimed, being sure that Victor wouldn't last much longer if Prisma was revived.

"I will. I promise!" Ash exclaimed.

"..." Red smiled, believing that Ash would. He was taking the reins now. All of them would hold their fists out, aiming them at Ash as a sign of their trust in him. Ash looked at all of these fists, wiping away some tears. First Sombra and now all of his counterparts were counting on him. Ash refused to let them down. Doing so would break the heart of his friends and make his mother upset. And he just couldn't do so.

With that, Ash would fist bump all of them at once, forming a small sphere of energy between them. This was the connection between him and his counterparts.

"I promise." Ash said once more. "I won't fail."

Outside, Ash and the others were still unconscious as the Psychic Storm raged on. And as it raged on, despite having the strength to send a Pokemon out to battle, Sci-Twi was currently covering her face, still crying and trying to hold back the ears. Sunset looked at her with concern.

"Twilight..." Sunset spoke her name.

"Kh...Ash...!" She got on her knees, beyond heartbroken. She believed the absolute worst had happened to Ash.

"Noir..."

"Pi...Pikachu." Pikachu felt her pain. He was obviously crying too as tears were being shown. But Pikachu managed to stand tall regardless.

However, this had a huge drawback. Hatterene was a Pokemon that reacted strongly to emotions and with Sci-Twi being so distraught, along with the others, this was actually benefitting Hatterene greatly. This was a Psychic/Fairy Type Pokemon, so its Psychic type power was naturally heightened. Hatterene would start laughing, finding the sadness she was feeding off of to be absolutely delicious.

"Hatter! Hatter!" She cried, causing the storm to get even more intense.

"You might as well give up now. Your tears...your sadness...they fuel Hatterene greatly." Grogar smirked. "The more emotional you are, the more power Hatterene has. So unless you're able to keep your emotions under control, then it's futile to keep trying."

"Terene!" And an example of this overflowing power was shown. From above, Hatterene would fire down a huge cluster of psychic stars, which would be sent down to attack them. The stars were moving at incredible speeds, crashing down towards the group.

Sunset was quick to react, using her powers to create a shield to defend them from the attack. However, the stars were so powerful that they easily pierced through the shield, hitting her, Pikachu, Dusknoir and Passion with extreme force.

"AGHH!"

"Sunset! Everyone!" Sci-Twi cried, looking at Sunset as she was knocked back.

"Voir...!" Passion slid on the ground before looking up. It didn't stop there. A spiral of negative energy was forming from above as Hatterene unleashed a cyclone of psychic energy that could target both the mind and body. "Garde!" Passion waved her hand, creating a cluster of Psychic energy to counter the cyclone. But this was only a diversion as Hatterene would send one of her tendrils at her fellow Psychic-Fairy-Type.

Upon contact, the tendril would latch itself onto Passion's body, making the Psychic Gardevoir wince in pain. "Garde?!" Upon latching itself onto her, the Tendrils started injecting something into her.

Inside of Passion's body, her cells would start rapidly changing. "GARDE!" She cried out in pain, feeling as her cells changed and mutated rapidly, causing her body to change. Her eyes became more serpentine and her ears longer and pointed.

Her skin took on a much darker hue, becoming a dark blueish-green color while her hair became more like sharp needles that were made up of pure energy. "GAR?!" She looked at her hands, seeing how they changed drastically. She couldn't believe it, being so shocked by the transformation.

"AHAHAHA!" Grogar laughed at Passion's mutation and the others' shock and horror. "What you see before you is the injection of all the hateful and negative energy Hatterene has culminated. The Grim Revelry as I call. With this, you will feel the weight of her hatred and despair!"

"Passion!" Sunset cried out, looking at her friend as she was injected with more and more of this negative energy. And the result was already showing. Hatterene would send another tendril to target Sunset. The orange unicorn was quick to dodge, using her magic to cut it in half, but not after it managed to inject her with some of the negative energy as well.

"SUNSET!" Sci-Twi cried.

"Ngh...!" Sunset gritted her teeth, feeling the same thing happen to her. Her eyes became more serpentine as well, and she too was mutating, becoming just like Passion. Her skin changed and her hair became a dark blue and spiked up. "Ah...AHHHHH!" She screamed, feeling the negative energy course through her body.

"Vol! Volca!" Acting fast, Volcarona would use Bug Buzz, sending powerful vibrations towards the tendrils, cutting them in half. But it wasn't enough. More tendrils were sent out, wrapping around both Sunset and Passion, injecting them with even more of that negative energy.

"Voi...Garde..." Passion felt weakened, but Sunset didn't. She had more willpower, but not by much. The two were lifted up as they struggled.

"Pika...CHUUUUUU!" Using Thunderbolt, Pikachu unleashed 100,000 volts onto one tendril, shocking it. By doing so, the electricity would spread to all of the other tendrils, shocking Sunset and Passion, but Hatterene and Grogar as well. "Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed.

"TE! HATTERENE!" Feeling the shock, Hatterene's eyes glared at Pikachu as she summoned something from below. Sprouting from the ground appeared to be a flower made out of Psychic Energy, rapidly growing out of the ground as it sprouted.

And once it sprouted, the flower opened up, unleashing a wave of sadness, despair and heartbreak that would knock Pikachu back. "PIKA?!"

It didn't just knock him, back it started filling his body with sadness, which was already present in him due to the current situation. The sadness he felt for Ash and the others who were in trouble right now. "Pika...Pi..." He whimpered, feeling the magic flow within.

And of course, this would naturally benefit Hatterene. With a sadistic grin, she would rapidly grow stronger, her power increasing by the second. "Hatte! Hatte!" She cried, laughing as she did so.

"Dusknoir!" Dusknoir flew in, using Shadow Punch to extend his arms, turning them into shadows just so that he could reach Sunset and Passion. He extended his hand to the two of them, managing to grab them before flying back. "Dusknoir!"

However, the two tendrils would wrap around his hands and try to drag him down. "Dusk..." Dusknoir gritted his teeth, trying to hold on.

"N-No! Dusknoir!" Sunset cried, looking at the tendrils as they dragged them down.

"Terene!" Hatterene fired another psychic star at the three, this time aiming for Dusknoir.

"Pika! PIKACHU!" Pikachu countered it with Thunderbolt, using it to send the star right back at Hatterene. However, a powerful Psychic field wold crush the Psychic Star as Hatterene laughed at them. To their shock, Hatterene's strength had already grown to a point where she could multitask effortlessly.

This entire situation was a positive to her as her strength kept rising higher and higher. And now that it had reached a certain point, with a single glare, she would paralyze Pikachu, Volcarona and Dusknoir on the spot, leaving them frozen. "Ah...!" Sci-Twi covered her mouth, seeing what happened to them.

"I told you it would be futile to keep trying." Grogar smirked, enjoying the show. "How wonderful it is for Hatterene to be in this situation. I was wise to choose her. Now then, Hatterene. Crush them with negative emotions!"

"Hat!" Hatterene obeyed. Now that she had them within her grasp. she would use the intense weight of all these negative emotions as a weapon, washing them with a wave of emotions. And since this was a wave of negative emotions, it was so powerful that it could crush anything and everything in its path.

"Gaaaaaah!" Sunset struggled, feeling the intense wave of emotions hit her body.

"Voi... Garde...!" Passion winced, feeling the same thing. The negative energy flowing through them only amplified this wave as well. The two were struggling to hold on, unable to do anything but feel these emotions wash over them.

"STOP IT, PLEASE!" Sci-Twi cried out, but Hatterene did not listen. Instead, Sci-Twi's sadness only fueled her. She watched as her friends were being tormented by this attack, screeching at the top of their lungs as their bodies and minds were being crushed by Hatterene's power.

"T-Twilight..." Sunset weakly said as the emotions had already overwhelmed her. The weight of them caused the unicorn to pass out, becoming limp. Volcarona squinted its eyes, only to fail in resisting as well as she passed out.

The only ones left were Gardevoir, Pikachu and Dusknoir. The three of them couldn't take it much longer. All of them would eventually pass out, being lifted up in the air by the tendrils as Hatterene kept using the Grim Revelry on them.

"It seems like you're out of options." Grogar smirked, feeling amused by this whole thing. He was actually enjoying it, seeing how pathetic they all were. "Give up now and save yourselves the embarrassment. There's no way you can win against my Hatterene."

Sci-Twi fell to her knees, looking at everyone who had lost. She felt like crying, not knowing what to do or say. She was the only one left. All of her friends had fallen, and now she was the only one who could do something. "Please...You've already hurt Ash and the others...they're unresponsive. Leave everyone else out of it..."

"Not a chance. You are all those who defended Prisma and is counterparts. To let you go unpunished will not do." Grogar said. "This is the consequence. Even though you are a reincarnation of her majesty, you will still be punished. And so will your friends. Especially that unicorn and Pony. They have done too much for me to forgive."

"Please...you've already won! There's no need to hurt anyone anymore!" Sci-Twi begged. "If you just give us time to-"

"There is no time. We will leave as soon as I know you will no longer stand in my way." Grogar stated. "But I can't risk it if there's any chance that you could win."

"Ngh..." Sci-Twi's tears continued to fall as her nails would scrape the ground. Soon, her eyes closed as her glasses were about to fall off. And in her moment of weakness, she thought to herself while holding onto the Arceus Pendant. "Arceus...Please...if you're awake right now...Help. I don't care how...just please help..."

She was willing to risk it all to save her friends. But at the same time, she knew that Arceus couldn't help her. At least, not in the way she wanted. She wished he could just use his almighty power and make it all go away. But that was not possible. She was on her own. She tried harnessing the power of the pendant, but her mind wasn't in the right place to make that happen.

She slowly rose up, opening her eyes with determination. She didn't want to give up. That's not what friends did. They kept going, even if things didn't seem to be going their way. She would take a deep breath, looking up at Hatterene.

"I...I'm not giving up." She said, standing on her two feet. "You might have taken my friends and done whatever you wanted to them, but that's not going to stop me."

"You are still foolishly trying to resist. How sad." Grogar chuckled. "Don't you understand? Your friends are powerless now. Hatterene has taken away their free will. There's no way you can save them."

"I'll try...I have to." She would take off her glasses, knowing she had to try something.

"Mhm. If you say so. Restrain her as well, Hatterene."

"TE!" Hatterene soon looked at Sci-Twi, eager to capture her as well and feed her a plethora of horrible emotions. But Sci-Twi wouldn't let that happen. Not while her friends were in so much peril. Instead of going for another Poke Ball, she had something in mind. One of the tendrils flew towards her, ready to latch onto the bookworm.

From her pocket, she pulled something out. The Shift Stone that allowed her to assume a human form in Equestria's territory. Usually, she only uses it to appear as her normal self so that she doesn't have to be a pony, still being uncomfortable at the thought of turning into ne. But now, things were different.

She used the Shift Stone as a weapon, clenching her hand and promptly thrusting it at the incoming tendril. The tendril came into contact with the stone, but before that, Sci-Twi had only one thought with it. She wanted the stone to do one thing. And upon contact, the Shift Stone's cosmic energy would explode outward, aggressively interacting with the tendril.

Sci-Twi closed her eyes, looking away at the blinding light as it expanded at immense speeds. This light was a result of the cosmic energy interacting with the magic within the tendril. As a result, the two energies were ripping each other apart, causing a volatile reaction.

"T-TE! HATTERENE!" Hatterene howled as the cosmic energy would envelop her whole body, making her screech. Now she was the one feeling something within her, making her body convulse.

Soon, the volatile reaction would blow both sides back. Sci-Twi would be blown back by the shockwave along with Hatterene and all those she held onto. The outburst even started shattering this entire area, forming cracks within it as Hatterene crashed into a nearby mountain. Sci-Twi tumbled on the ground, harming herself in the process to harm another.

And due to her using the power of the Shift Stone for something else, transferring every ounce of its power into that one attack, she was losing her regular human form, shifting into something else.

As she laid there on the ground while the whole place was coming down, the remaining cosmic light lathered her body, shrinking her. And from that light, Sci-Twi appeared as her pony-self, strongly and perfectly resembling Twilight Sparkle. To a T. It only made sense. She was her exact double. Her true counterpart.

Cracks in the dimension continued to show, being so powerful that they were reaching the outside, shaking the entire stadium along with Unilight itself. This caused the people to panic and flee as the place was about to collapse. "What is this? What's going on?!"

"I didn't expect such a chain reaction! She must've put every bit of the Rift's power from the stone into that attack!" Grogar gasped. At this rate, this whole place could suffer massive destruction thanks to Sci-Twi's act. "I'm changing the area at once!"

Quickly, to mitigate and prevent the mass destruction, he would summon the cluster of stars once more, using them to change the area. It was time for Sci-Twi and the others to leave the third stage and move onto the fourth one of the Star Trials.

Sci-Twi would open her eyes, looking at the bright light before her eyesight would soon go dark, seeing the world fade as she lost consciousness.

Outside, Twilight Luminaria witness the cracks forming across the sky, the force of the destruction starting from the dimension and all the way out here. She looked onward, wondering what caused that. At the same time, not too far from here, at the outside of the city itself, Shining Armor, Cadence and the Crystal Empire forces had arrived at last.

When appearing, they were outside the mega city, seeing that it was protected by Twilight Luminaria's magic, which was so powerful that it couldn't even be breached. At least, that would be the case, if they were in the Valley of Dead Magic. The barrier was strong, but clearly, it wasn't at the best it could be in this area.

"Hmm...Even with the magic being lowered here...This barrier is still so powerful." Cadence could confirm just by standing near it. "Flurry Heart would be powerful enough to destroy it, but she's resting right now..."

"Mm. Yeah. Luckily for us, we have someone else who can do just that. Isn't that right?" Shining Armor's head would turn to face one pony standing amongst the crowd of soldiers and their Pokemon.

And that pony was none other than Radiant Hope.

As the journey continues.
