Galar. Somewhere near the Crown Tundra. Nightfall.

Approaching rapidly was Castform and all the Monstrified Pokemon of the Wonderbolts that Grogar had sent out. They were tearing up the landscape from their movements.

The transformed Pokemon would all attack, with Castform leading the charge, letting out another roar as they did so. Castform was the first to attack, manipulating the clouds from the surrounding areas and the sky and using it to unleash a massive blast of elemental power.

"Sweet Celestia...Run away" Mayor Mare shouted to the other Pokemon of One Light. They did as she said, trying to evade Castform's attacks while the other Monstrified Pokemon were approaching, all ready to join in on the attack. With the help of Castform's incredible magical control, it created an electrical blast, unleashing a massive storm on the area, striking everything in sight.

Furious thunderstorms started ripping the ground apart with each thunderous strike of lightning, the sheer amount of power it had causing everything around them to explode. Wind pressures equal to many Hurricanes were ripping apart trees, tearing through the snow and freezing air. And that wasn't even counting the massive hail storms being generated, ice cold and sharp ice was striking many Pokemon in the vicinity, some of which that weren't as powerful as others were quickly falling to the ground from this attack.

The Arcane Institute's students would take cover, knowing full well that Castform's power was no laughing matter. They all knew what Castform was capable of, being able to see the destruction happening outside. The BlueLight Sisters all had a large barrier of light protecting them, all their magic working together.

Castform would continue its onslaught of powerful attacks. With its ability to manipulate weather patterns, it conjured lightning storms, torrential rains, and massive hurricanes to devastate the battlefield. The other transformed Pokemon would all add their powers to Castform, creating a powerful magical field. A combined magical blast would be unleashed, creating an even bigger blast of power.

Charizard, who was the most destructive Monstrified Pokemon out of all of them, would use Fire Blast, sending a massive and overwhelming blast of fire in the direction of Nightmare Moon's team. The flame tore through the atmosphere itself, creating a powerful vacuum of pressure as well as a powerful blast of fire.

The members of One Light all looked on in horror and shock as the flames melted a mass of snow while also obliterating the clouds. Swiftly, Nightmare Moon would put up a massive shield with her magic, protecting them and their Pokemon. It took a gigantic chunk of her power just to keep it up. But thankfully, they managed to pull through as the attack would soon fade. They were all shocked and terrified by the sheer amount of power displayed just now. They looked out in shock as the flames faded, the snow and cold air being melted by the intense heat and power. Nightmare Moon herself was sweating a little bit from the intense heat.

"Goodness...Just what have they been doing to these Pokemon!" Nightmare Moon looked on in awe. Even the Arcane Institute had to be amazed by this power that was on their side.

"Hooh...The Professor outdid himself! This is like, so our lucky break!" Violet BlueLight was ecstatic, as were her sisters.

"With them, we can totally get the job done." Flawless said confidently. "The Soul Crystal may not even be needed."

"Don't get too confident." Alpha spoke. "There is no time to celebrate yet. They can be very unpredictable if you're not careful."

Torkoal was obviously the slowest, being behind everyone else. But he was still just as destructive. From his shell, he shot out a giant flamethrower, creating a powerful wave of fire that engulfed a huge part of the battlefield. He would let out another cry before using Overheat, firing an intense beam of flames. Nightmare Moon and her army had to swiftly dodge out of the way, many Pokemon flying out of the way. Some were unfortunately not so lucky. A Swanna and a Murkrow would both be struck by it, causing them to cry out and crash into the ground.

Castform would unleash another storm. A huge hurricane came down on the battlefield, creating powerful storms and gale-force winds. Charizard and Misty Fly's Charizard were also attacking in tandem, using a combination of fire and electricity to unleash a massive explosion, blasting many of the flying-type Pokemon that One Light had to the ground.

Many more of the Monstrified Pokemon were coming closer, using their powers in unison to decimate their enemies. A powerful vortex of magical energy was building up and would be unleashed on Nightmare Moon, only for the alter-ego of Luna to barely send the attack elsewhere. She deflected it, sending it high into the sky. As a result, a large portion of the sky and clouds was blasted away, revealing the night sky and the stars.

Castform was still the biggest problem, able to manipulate the weather and elements with ease. He was the main powerhouse in this battle and the biggest threat to One Light and their efforts to stop the Arcane Institute. From the clouds, he would create a vicious rainstorm, summoning drops of water so aggressively powerful that they ripped through solid objects and caused massive destruction.

The Pokemon of One would be bombarded by the raindrops, finding that they hit with the force of a hammer. Many Pokemon were forced to fall to the ground from this onslaught.

"W-Why's this rain so heavy?!" A pony yelled, groaning and crying out at the aggressive rainfall.

Charizard was the next to go, breathing out a large stream of fire at their foes, creating a massive explosion and burning away the forest. The blast radius was tremendous and Nightmare Moon and her team had to quickly avoid the attack, though the aftershock of it would hit them and they felt the massive shockwave of the attack. Nightmare Moon had to quickly use a barrier of dark magic to keep herself from being blown back too.

One Light was struggling, as was Nightmare Moon. This was not going well at all. The Arcane Institute were pushing their army back. If they were going to lose, they'd need something to change the tide. That being said, Castform wasn't the only one who could control the elements.

Nightmare Moon used her magic to conjure a dark, starry night, causing a storm of dark clouds to appear in the air above Castform and his group. The dark energy that radiated from it caused a feeling of dread to form over Castform. He let out a growl of discomfort as he was suddenly attacked by the clouds that were now being manipulated by Nightmare Moon. The weather-controlling Monstrified Pokemon would have his own storm attack him, hitting his own body and creating a vortex that was sucking him up. As Castform was pulled into the vortex of clouds, his own power would be turned against him as his storm powers would be amplified, unleashing a powerful blast of wind, snow, hail and rain on him, along with thunderstorms.

Charizard and the others tried to assist their fellow Monstrified Pokemon, but were quickly attacked by Nightmare Moon. She would create a massive, magical blade, swinging it and unleashing a powerful wave of magic at them. The blast would tear the ground apart as it flew at them.

Castform, sensing this attack, unleashed another powerful weather attack, unleashing a powerful tornado on Nightmare Moon's team, creating a massive whirlwind of magical energy that sucked them in, tearing their bodies up from the harsh winds. It tore trees from the ground and ripped through stone.

"Cast...!" Just then, Castform let out a chilling cry that reached all of them while this struggle went on. But when hearing this cry, Nightmare Moon gasped. There was something strongly familiar about it.

"Wait..." She uttered to herself, listening closely to this cry and what it sounded like. Or rather, who it sounded like. "That's no random Castform...You're Rainbow Dash's Castform?!"

"That's Rainbow Dash's Castform?!" Mayor Mare said, just as surprised. "It can't be!"

"It might be...All these Pokemon are ones that the Wonderbolts have!" Another pony pointed out. "You don't think that they're all-?"

"The Wonderbolts?!" Nightmare Moon realized, just how big of a problem they were dealing with now. Because now, the Pokemon they were facing weren't just any random Pokemon. They were allies that were all Monstrified. "Curses...How inconvenient this is."

"Check out how spooked they are. I bet they don't wanna hurt their friends." Phantasia said.

"I doubt it." Alpha said, stepping in. "We have the upper hand, but they're not done yet. The Wonderbolts would not back down, especially not with their Pokemon being the ones in danger. It is likely they will be willing to risk it all to save them. I hope the Professor can see that they're not going to be swayed easily. We will have to prove we're stronger than ever. And I hope that our other forces are doing well enough. If we have more of a numbers advantage, we can overpower them."

Meanwhile, after receiving the carrots, Ash, SciTwi, Sunset and Calyrex would find themselves in the graveyard that Calyrex told them about, the place apparently having a strong enough soil and a good environment for the Shaderoot Carrots to grow.

Ash knelt to place the carrots down in front of him as he spoke to the ground below. "Alright. Is this is good enough, Calyrex?" The others also looked to Calyrex for answers. If this wasn't going to work, then what will? The Legendary Pokemon walked over and examined the ground and the Shaderoot Carrots. He would look at Ash and the girls.

"Everything seems to be in order. All that's left to do is to try and grow them immediately. I hope I have the power to do so." That was Calyrex's main concern, but he had to try regardless.

As Calyrex's power coursed through the ground, they could see the soil shifting and churning beneath the Shaderoot Carrots, and soon, they started to feel something happening. There was rumbling sounds as a mystical light enveloped the ground around them as Calyrex started dancing all of a sudden. The group looked in astonishment at Calyrex's sudden dance which seemed to be a vital part in making the carrots grow.

"Pfft!" Sci-Twi put her hand over her mouth, trying her hardest not to laugh. Sunset on the other hand wasn't as subtle, she started snorting, trying to keep herself from bursting into a laughing mess. She bit her tongue and turned around, holding her laughter as best as she could.

And with grace, Calyrex completed the dance. And from it, a single Shaderoot Carrot popped up. That was it. Just one and nothing more.

"Just one?!" Calyrex's eyes widened. He was shocked to see that he could only generate one carrot when he knew he could do more than this. "So many have been planted and yet only one managed to sprout from my powers...To think that I've fallen so low. It truly breaks my heart. But...I suppose one will have to do for now and-" Calyrex turned around to look at the others. Ash was just as shocked as he was while Sci-Twi and Sunset had different expressions. "Are you two laughing?"

Both of the girls broke down in laughter, unable to contain their glee any longer.

"That dance...was so cute!" Sci-Twi laughed, clutching her stomach, her cheeks red. She couldn't breathe properly, her laughter being too strong. "You are the most adorable Pokemon ever!" Calyrex looked away in embarrassment. He never thought that his dance could ever be laughed at. "Uh, I hope none of my Pokemon heard that..."

Sunset chuckled and put her hand on Calyrex's back. "Hey, don't feel down about it." Sunset assured the Legendary. "It just...caught us off guard, that's all."

Ash smiled as he got back to his feet. "Don't feel bad about the carrot. One should be enough to help. Thanks for your help, Calyrex." He approached the carrot, ready to pull it out with all of his might. He rubbed his hands together and grabbed hold of it, feeling the weight of it as he did.

"Hm, it feels heavy..." He pulled and pulled, but he just couldn't get the carrot out. "Come on..." He tried even harder, but it didn't budge an inch. It was stuck to the ground as if it were held in place. "Hnnnnnn!" He pulled even more, trying to free it from the ground. Thankfully, he managed to overpower the ground, ripping this large carrot out and falling on his back.

"Got it!" He looked at the carrot that he just freed, seeing it was a massive one, one of the biggest ones they've ever seen. "But I guess we can say it was worth the effort." Ash smiled at this, seeing how big the carrot was.

Calyrex looked over, his eyes widening as he was impressed by this boy's strength. "To have pulled out the Shaderoot Carrot with such ease is impressive. Such physical strength." The group approached, looking at the giant vegetable.

"Wow, it really is a giant!" Sci-Twi said, her eyes wide. "No way...This is a Shaderoot Carrot?" Sci-Twi said, approaching it with awe in her eyes. "Does your steed really need that much?"

"It has quite the appetite, believe me." Calyrex confirmed.

"What about these ones?" Sunset then looked at the Iceroot seeds, wondering what purpose they served. "Do we just throw them out?"

"Ah, those. I suppose I should inform you of this. My steed is capable of two different forms depending on the carrot it consumes. Iceroot Carrots cause my steed to take the form of an Ice type while the Shaderoot grant it the power of a Ghost-Type. Either one works, to be honest."

Ash looked up to Calyrex and stood up. "Woah-ho! That's amazing! Those carrots cna just swap its forms like that?! So cool!" He looked back at the Shaderoot Carrot, a big smile on his face.

"Hm. An ice pun I presume." Calyrex snickered, thinking it was a pun, when it was not. "Either way, the carrot will at best grab its interest and keep it busy. What truly matters is the Reins of Unity."

"Reins of Unity?" The trio repeated.

"They will amplify my power, letting me ride my loyal steed with ease. But I doubt I shall ever get another set from the humans in the village." Calyrex said. "Not after so long and-"

Just then, a voice echoed nearby, interrupting Calyrex. It sounded like a neigh from an unseen source, prompting everyone to look around.

"Wait a second...Did anyone else here that?" Sunset asked. Everyone nodded. They all did hear that voice. And it was close.

"That sound...There is no mistaken!" Calyrex gasped as the sound of someone galloping could be heard as well. It got closer and closer until a certain figure was shown rushing by. It had black coat, much like Nightmare Moon and even a mane coloured purple, just like how Calyrex described it. Truly, it did look like Nightmare Moon from this point of view, making the others gasp. That was indeed his steed. "Spectrier! My loyal steed!"

"Spectrier..." Ash gawked in amazement, taking out his Pokedex to scan the Pokemon while it was galloping elsewhere.

"Spectrier. The Swift Horse Pokemon. It probes its surroundings with all its senses save one—it doesn’t use its sense of sight. Spectrier’s kicks are said to separate soul from body. As it dashes through the night, Spectrier absorbs the life-force of sleeping creatures. It craves silence and solitude."

"That glossy black pelt...That rough, violent gallop...It has not changed since the day we first met. Oh, how this brings back memories..." Calyrex reminisced, his heart filled with warmth as he looked at the creature that he used to bond with long ago.

"Wow..." Sunset gawked. "You weren't kidding with the similarities..."

"It is my belief that while my steed picked up on the scent of the carrot, it could not determine what where the scent comes from. But the Pokedex practically explained that to you. Spectrier has no clear sight after all." Calyrex spoke. "Judging from the direction it ran, it must be headed to the village, in an attempt to pillage carrots there! Which means that Freezington is in peril! King of the Sea! Empress! Sunset Shimmer! We must make haste!"

"Y-You don't have to call me Empress..." Sci-Twi scratched her hair. "But yeah! Don't worry! I know someone who can keep up without a doubt." Digging into her bag, Sci-Twi would take out a Poke Ball, specifically Alpha Rapidash's Poke Ball once more. With a throw, she called out her steed.

"Rapidash!"

"Rapidash, I need you to take us to Spectrier as fast as you can. Basically, just get us back to Freezington as soon as possible." Sci-Twi requested of the Rapidash. The Fire Horse Pokemon would nod her head. She turned and bent her front knees, letting everyone get on. Pikachu held onto Ash's head while Calyrex would be on Sci-Twi's back. Sunset and Sci-Twi got on Alpha's back as she got herself ready to run. And with a swift turn, she began to run in the opposite direction.

"Here we go!" Ash exclaimed. Rapidash charged through the forest at an immense speed. The trees blurred together as they raced past, her fiery mane trailing behind like a blazing ribbon. Her hooves struck the ground hard, carrying her riders with unmatched swiftness. Calyrex hung onto Sci-Twi's back for dear life.

"This is far more unstable than being on Spectrier...!" Calyrex groaned as his eyes were twitching.

The group raced through the forest at breakneck speeds. The wind whipped past their faces, carrying the scent of pine and snow. Pikachu let out a joyful cry as he held onto his trainer.

And speaking of approaching Freezington, by now, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and others that went on foot were finally approaching the Crown Tundra. Pheromosa was ahead of them all, seeing Freezington in the distance from a high point.

"Ah! That must be it! Freezington, just like Ash mentioned!" Rarity shouted.

"Phero!" With the location in her sights, Pheromosa accelerated even more. The group followed her closely. All others were still behind Pheromosa, but were still moving at a quick pace regardless.

However, because Pheromosa's group was up ahead, they ended up bumping into it. The Lissome Pokemon gasped as Spectrier suddenly came into view, nearly crashing into the Ultra Beast with how fast it was running.

"Mosa?!" Pheromosa gasped, instinctivelly coming to a screeching halt as she narrowly dodged the Pokemon's path, jumping to the side in a blur.

"W-What is that?" Applejack said. She was not prepared for such a wild looking creature. Spectrier sensed the group, coming to a halt itself before being slightly obscured by the snowy mist.

"Is that...Nightmare Moon?" Fluttershy squinted her eyes as she and the others instantly thought that Nightmare Moon was the one standing there in the mist.

"Hey! You caught up so soon?!" Pinkie Pie waved her hooves at Spectrier. But her smile faded once the Pokemon became more visible to her, revealing that it was not Nightmare Moon, but a different creature altogether.

"That ain't Nightmare Moon!" Applejack was relieved that they were wrong, but was also shocked at seeing the new Pokemon. "Who in tarnation is that?!"

Spectrier, while having no sight, would clearly face the group, fixated on them. All for one reason. Right now, Spectrier could sniff out something. Something truly delicious that caught its attention. And that delicious thing was coming from Pinkie Pie's saddlebag. It was one of her many foods that she brings along with her. And now that it sensed it, it would try and take it before heading for the Shaderoots in Freezington.

Spectrier unleashed a haunting neigh that echoed throughout the snowy tundra, the eerie sound resonating in the crisp air. It was a sound of challenge and determination. It would get what it wants, and would do anything to do it.

As the journey continues.
