My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Fire Horse vs Swift Horse
Previous ChapterNext ChapterGalar. Near the Crown Tundra. Nightfall.
Spectrier had crossed paths with Rarity's group, coming to a halt. While it was still focused on the carrot seeds, something else caught its attention. The scent of Pinkie Pie's food. It could sense the sweetness from the bag, unable to see it thanks to its lack of eyesight. But regardless, Spectrier knew it was there.
Spectrier wanted what was inside of Pinkie Pie's bag. And it would go about it with full aggression.
The Swift Horse Pokemon reared up on its hind legs, its front hooves slashing through the air with precision, unleashing a barrage of purple blades. The air rippled as the spectral blades tore through the atmosphere, heading straight for the group. This caught them completely off-guard, as they never thought that it would attack first.
"Mo?!" Pheromosa gasped as she tossed everyone off of her, keeping the same. Quickly, Pheromosa swiftly kicked a blade aside with a powerful swing of her leg. She soon kicked the other blades away, destroying them.
Spectrier then leapt into the air and landed with a thunderous impact, its hooves striking the earth like meteors. The ground trembled and quaked beneath their feet, the shockwaves destabilizing their footing.
"Ph-Phero!" Pheromosa grimaced, holding onto her friends tightly while trying to maintain her balance. The impact from the ground caused her to stagger slightly.
"Ooh...You're wasting our time! Pheromosa! Use High Jump Kick!" Rarity yelled.
"Mosa!" Pheromosa would drop her friends, engaging in combat with the Swift Horse Pokemon. However, Pheromosa's kick went straight through Spectrier, dealing no damage and having no effect, causing the Lissome Pokemon to gasp. It was clear now that this was a Ghost-Type, as they have just now realized.
"Drat! A Ghost-Type!" Rarity said. Spectrier retaliated, using Shadow Ball at her. The Lissome Pokemon would quickly duck, the Shadow Ball barely missing her as she jumped back. However, Spectrier attacked her with more.
"Mo! Phero!" Pheromosa had to sway her body repeatedly and keep zipping to avoid these incoming blobs of shadows.
"Use Bug Buzz!"
"Pheromosa...!" Pheromosa slid on the snowy ground before generating a green orb in her hands, releasing a green wave of energy from it that made its way for Spectrier. The Swift Horse Pokemon replied by using Shadow Ball, the darkness clashing with the green wave. The two attacks struggled to overcome each other until the green energy overpowered Spectrier's Shadow Ball, causing a minor explosion in its vicinity.
But that didn't stop Spectrier, who simply slid back. Showing full hostility, the Swift Horse Pokemon suddenly summoned a mass array of shadow pillars that surrounded Pheromosa. They closed in on the Ultra Beast, who was trapped by the sudden grip of shadows. However, Pheromosa's eyes flashed as she prepared herself for what's coming next.
"PHERO!" Pheromosa used High Jump Kick, jumping and hitting each of the pillars before they could hit her. She would do so with so much speed and agility that it only took her three seconds to destroy all of them. Spectrier tried to hit her with Shadow Balls but she kept on moving around. "Mosa!"
However, Spectrier would suddenly move through the shadows themselves and reemerged from behind her. The Swift Horse Pokemon, using Psychic, lifted the Ultra Beast and swung her around before throwing her far off to the side.
"Pheromosa!" Rarity yelled as she watched the Pokemon crash on the ground. But the Ultra Beast was not done yet. She was ready for a comeback. However, the impact caused a mass avalanche of snow to start appearing. The whole area trembled from the impact of Pheromosa's crash as well.
"Ah!" Fluttershy turned everyone's attention to the incoming snow. They gasped at the sight, only for Audino to quickly use Protect, forming a large shield of a sphere around them.
This was used to Spectrier's advantage. The massive amount of snow would fall upon them, only being held back by Audino's shield, which meant only one thing. The Swift Horse Pokemon moved through the shadows once more and in a blur, it ended up attacking Pinkie Pie's saddlebag. The earth pony grimaced and shuddered in absolute shock. It was a quick attack, as Spectrier forced all of the food out. The various pastries would fly into the air, prompting the Ghost-Type to leap into the air, grabbing them all.
"My food!" Pinkie cried out, witnessing Spectrier's thievery. It landed and ran off with Pinkie's food, sliding on the ground before looking at the group.
"Is that what it was trying to do the whole time?!" Rarity gasped.
"Mmrgh...It didn't even try and communicate with us..." Fluttershy puffed her cheeks, a little annoyed that it was something that simple from the start. If Spectrier had properly spoke to them, it would've been solved, but the Swift Horse Pokemon was an aggressive one. However, that was the least of their problems as the snow kept falling in.
"Dino...Audino...!" Audino strained, trying to keep her Protect up, but the amount of pressure was too much. She had already been protecting them for a few seconds now and she couldn't last much longer.
"Don't worry, Audino! I've got ya covered!" Applejack would throw a Poke Ball out, summoning her Sceptile.
"Sceptile!"
"Use Frenzy Plant!"
"Scep...Tile!" Digging his hands into the ground, a mass array of large roots came from below and pushed the snow off the shield. A rapid bombardment of roots would assist Audino, managing to keep the avalanche back. Spectrier was already gone, continuing on its path to Freezington while consuming the food of Pinkie Pie, who is shocked at her food being gone.
"My food..." Pinkie Pie gasped. She looked down, saddened by this, only for Pheromosa to pat her back in reassurance. "Some of that was for Mew..."
The avalanche had been successfully fended off, coming to an end with the roots blocking what remains of the snow.
"Phew. Thanks, Sceptile. Audino, you okay, sugarcube?" Applejack turned to Audino, who panted as she fell to her knees.
"Di..." She felt tired, but was still alright.
"Pheromosa! Are you okay?!" Rarity went over to her partner, concerned for her well being.
"Pheromosa..." Pheromosa assured her that she was fine. She was not going to let that attack deter her.
"Oh...Well I'm glad that's over with." Fluttershy breathed out. "But it looks like that Pokemon is heading to Freezington just like us. It was so hostile though...All those people and Pokemon there might be in danger..."
"Well we're goin' there ourselves to stop it before it can cause any harm." Applejack replied. She recalled Sceptile back to his Poke Ball, the latter nodding with a determined look as he returned. "We're almost at the city, girls. We've got this!"
"You can count on it, darling! Come on!" Rarity said.
The Crown Tundra. Freezington
It didn't take long for Spectrier to arrive at Freezington, leaping over the mountains. The Swift Horse Pokemon had finished eating the stolen pastries, and it was now fully prepared to snag all things Shaderoot.
The people were enjoying the cold weather of Freezington. Some of the people have been skating around on ice. There was a couple sitting on the bench, having a pleasant conversation while watching a few others playing with their Pokemon on the snowy fields.
There was a mother with her daughter, who was playing with an Alolan Vulpix.
"Vulll!"
"Be careful, honey! You might fall into the snow!" She was a kind and loving mother who cared for her daughter very much.
"I know!" Her daughter replied.
The little girl turned her head to see the Swift Horse Pokemon standing before her, its body filled with a sinister purple glow. Spectrier's mouth dripped with aggression and hunger as it looked at the people.
"Wh-What's that?"
Spectrier let out a low neigh that sent shivers down Vulpix's spine.
"Vul!" Vulpix jumped back, using Icy Wind on the Swift Horse Pokemon, who just used Phantom Force, vanishing from sight. Spectrier appeared next to Vulpix, using Night Shade on it, dealing a massive amount of damage. The Pokemon flew into a tree and fell to the ground with a groan. Spectrier's horn started to glow as the Ghost-Type Pokemon was preparing for something. It's horn released an intense light and the Pokemon let out a powerful roar.
It's voice caused everyone in the area to stop what they were doing.
Spectrier would charge up, leaping through a building. The Pokemon left behind a massive purple wave of energy as it broke through the structure, the glass from the building shattered into a million pieces, causing everyone to scream and shout at this sudden occurrence. Spectrier then proceeded to gallop across the town and charge straight through a cart. The food cart was lifted up in the air before crashing down to the ground.
"Everybody, get away!" Some of the people screamed.
The Pokemon continued its path of destruction, charging at another building and breaking through the doors of more buildings in this small village.
"Get outta the way! Aaah!" A bunch of customers scattered around to avoid the incoming attack. However, one man couldn't get away fast enough and ended up being rammed into by Spectrier.
"Ahhh!" The force caused the man to be slammed into the back of another cart. Spectrier then proceeded to ram its head into the cart shelves, knocking them over. It was trying to properly sniff out the carrot seeds since the scent of them was not as powerful as Pinkie Pie's food, making Spectrier have to get a bit more violent to properly find them.
"Hold it!" Thankfully, Ash , Sci-Twi, Sunset and Calyrex had arrived, with Ash's voice alerting the Swift Horse Pokemon. Spectrier turned its head as Alpha Rapidash slid into the scene, letting them off.
"Oh my goodness...The damage!" Sci-Twi gasped at the damage done to the houses around the area. The energy it left behind would also linger and spread across the buildings. A dark aura was enveloping them, slowly spreading.
"Spectrier!" Calyrex glared. The two Pokemon looked at each other in silence. Calyrex had an angry expression while the Swift Horse Pokemon was just staring at her, not moving from where it was at. "It's no use. It doesn't even recognize my voice..." Calyrex sighed as Spectrier's hostility would grow. "Please. You must calm it down. Perhaps then I could reason with it."
"We'll try. Rapidash! Please help me out!" Sci-Twi requested her partner.
"Rapi!" Rapidash neighed, her voice echoing across the village. Spectrier saw that as a challenge as it would neigh back with its own powerful echo.
"Go, Rapidash! Use Smart Strike!"
"Dash...!" Her horn would start glowing, lit up with energy, and then, she charged towards the Ghost-Type.
Spectrier was prepared for that, though, using Night Shade to parry her horn with the purple blades that it produced from its front hooves. Rapidash was pushed back, landing back on the ground, but Spectrier would come from above with Phantom Force, striking her down with its horn.
"Dash...!"
Sci-Twi gasped, but she wouldn't let it stop her. "Rapidash! Hang in there! Use Flare Blitz!"
"Dash..." Rapidash nodded, using Flare Blitz to envelop herself in flames. With her impressive speed, she was suddenly gone, becoming invisible. She then charged towards the Swift Horse Pokemon and used Flare Blitz again, but it would also disappear. The Pokemon kept disappearing and reappearing to try and outsmart the other. Rapidash would dash forward, trying to land a hit, only for Spectrier to vanish and strike her down from above with its horn.
"Are you alright, Rapidash?!" Sci-Twi screamed with worry.
"Dash...Rapi!" She was. She was an Alpha Pokemon after all, being stronger than the average Pokemon of her species. However, Spectrier was no joke, being as formidable as it was aggressive.
"Use High Horsepower!"
"Rapidash...!" The Fire Horse Pokemon started stomping her hooves rapidly, creating a shockwave that shook the ground beneath them. It caused cracks on the earth as she charged at Spectrier once again with great force. The Swift Horse Pokemon saw it coming, though. Spectrier disappeared using Phantom Force, avoiding her attack as it moved out of the way.
Spectrier reappeared and kicked its front hooves upwards, aiming to strike her with its horns. However, Rapidash was ready as she quickly dodged the attack as it missed, causing Spectrier to crash into a tree and fall backwards onto the ground. The two were evenly matched in strength and speed. Spectrier seemed to perfectly match Rapidash's amazing speed.
"It's tough...That Phantom Force is the main problem. I can't risk another Flare Blitz or else the recoil could cause her to get really hurt..." Sci-Twi muttered to herself, looking for a new approach to this battle. And with her eyes glistening with a tiny sparkle, she found that approach.
Spectrier neighed, using Shadow Ball to summon multilple blobs of darkness that were shot right towards them. "Kick them back, Rapidash! High Horsepower!"
"Dash!" Rapidash neighed, using a powerful High Horsepower on the incoming Shadow Balls. She managed to send all of them back towards Spectrier with great speed. Spectrier was taken off guard as the Shadow Balls hit him and created a powerful explosion of energy. Certainly super-effective as the Swift Horse Pokemon was absolutely staggered by this, leaving it wide open.
"Now! Smart Strike!"
"Rapidash!" Rapidash moved in and aimed a Smart Strike right towards Spectrier. With a direct hit, she tackled the Ghost-Type and sent him flying through the air, crashing into the ground and rolling on his back. Rapidash landed gracefully and then stood up.
Spectrier managed to recover by using the shadows to move up. But it was clear that it was heavily damaged, absolutely taken aback by that surprise attack. "I think you got it!" Sunset cried out.
Spectrier shook its head, feeling rather perplexed. Since it had a battle with Pheromosa earlier, having a battle with another powerful Pokemon left it at a disadvantage. Thus, it would have to cut its losses here and now. The Swift Horse Pokemon would suddenly cause a massive outburst of shadows that enveloped itself. The shadow then disappeared into thin air.
"Ugh! Gone!" Sci-Twi groaned, before taking a deep breath. "Oh, well...At least no one else got hurt...Good work, Rapidash. Return." Sci-Twi returned her partner back to her ball.
Calyrex would let out a sad sigh, before shaking her head. He watched the whole thing from a distance, still keeping himself hidden from the eyes of the village people. Speaking of the village people, they went up to Sci-Twi, thanking her and by extension Rapidash, for saving them. She gave them a small smile as they cheered for her victory.
"Oh, young lady! Thank you so much!" An old lady smiled as praises came her way.
"Whatever that Pokemon was...thank your for the save!" The mother of the little girl bellowed.
"Aha...I-It was nothing. Really." Sci-Twi smiled, scratching her cheek with a nervous chuckle. She wasn't used to this much praise, but she did her best to handle it.
"This damage will be hard to repair, no doubt..." The mayor looked at the damages down to the town. Thankfully, not everything had been destroyed. "Have our thanks anyways. That Pokemon was rather odd...I did hear about how a Pokemon with the shade of the night galloped across the Crown Tundra in certain areas, but to think it was actually real..."
"No one's seen Spectrier until now?" Ash asked.
"Not at all. It seems that we now know what the steed of the King was."
"Check this out. It dropped this during the battle." Sunset's eyes locked onto something curious on the ground. It looked to be a piece of Spectrier's mane. It was long and black, shimmering and rather smooth to the touch. Sunset picked it up, examining it. "Its mane?"
"For that to drop...I had heard that the King of Bountiful Harvests was able to weave the hair of its loyal steed with a radiant blossom grown by himself, making it possible to create something known as the Reins of Unity." The mayor added.
"Did you say Reins of Unity?!" The trio bellowed while looking at him.
"Mhm. The reins link its king with its steed. Lucky for you, Spectrier dropped a piece of its mane during the battle. In fact, it was my own ancestors who used to weave the Reins of Unity, following an ancient tradition passed down over the many years."
"Have you seen this flower anywhere by any chance?" Sci-Twi asked.
"No. I myself have never seen any kind of radiant flower, and the method of making the reins has also been lost to time." The mayor shook his head.
"Not for long. I know of a way we can find it out." Ash smiled, having an answer to this that he strongly believed in. By taking his bag off,, there was one item he could rely on in this instance. "If you can't remember, then there's one thing that can show us. The Time Flower." As always, Ash kept a spare Time Flower in his bag for situations like this, holding it out for everyone to see. It was a good thing that Ash brought a spare for this very reason.
"That's brilliant!" Sci-Twi clapped her hands together. This was exactly what they needed to find the answers to making the Reins of Unity. Ash set the Time Flower down, the trio looking at it. Ash placed his hand over it, letting his Aura synergize with the flower to allow it to bloom. In a matter of seconds, the Time Flower bloomed, revealing an image of the past.
It showed Calyrex in the past, holding the mane of a Spectrier of the past, with a flower unlike any other in its other hand, weaving them together. The townspeople all witnessed how their ancestors worked to make these reins possible. "Amazing..." The mayor gasped. "To think that this was the secret of making the reins. I always thought that it was simply a legend...But to think that it actually existed."
"So, all that's left is that special flower." Sunset added. "If only we knew where to find it."
"Well, we can always ask Calyrex." Ash said before turning his head, looking to where Calyrex was. "It's alright, Calyrex. You can show yourself to everyone."
"Calyrex? Calyrex is here?" A man said in surprise. Feeling a little bit nervous, the King Pokemon would slowly hover away from the bushes and trees. The villagers seemed to gasp in shock as they saw Calyrex floating towards the trio. "C-Calyrex...? It's you! It's really you, the King of Bountiful Harvests!"
"So that's what that Pokemon we saw was?!" Another villager exclaimed as they now knew the true identity of the King. This whole time, they either never saw him, struggled to see him or some were spooked out of their mind.
"Yep. This is Calyrex. Kinda almost looks like the statue, doesn't he?" Ash introduced them to his new friend. "See? Nothing to be afraid of."
"I suppose not...What was I so afraid of to begin with? Was I even afraid?" Calyrex uttered.
Calyrex simply waved hello as everyone else got closer. "Amazing. I never would have expected to see it with my own two eyes." An old lady bellowed with surprise. "To think the King has been living in the village. How are you, your majesty?" She asked.
"...I am...doing better than I had hoped for, I suppose." Calyrex responded. "But to all of you, I must apologize. I had assumed your ancestors had stopped making the Reins of Unity ever since I vanished all those years ago. It would only make sense that you would not know how to make them yourselves. But I see that even after my absence, they still kept making the Reins of Unity. I have spent far too long holding my misguided assumptions it seems."
"Don't worry about it! Not with that gnoggin of yours!" A little boy said, snickering as he made fun of Calyrex's crown, prompting a nudge from his mother. "Ow!" The little boy rubbed the area of impact, sticking her tongue out at her. The little boy had his sister laughing at his predicament, the little girl from before. The little girl would then look at Ash.
"Hey mister! Are you friends with Calyrex?"
"You bet. Right now, we're chiming in to get him back to his best. And it looks like we're getting closer to that." He then looked at the memories, seeing the further creation of the Reins of Unity. It was quite the process. "So, Calyrex. Think you can pull it off again?"
"In my current state, I'm not sure. It has been many centuries since I've been able to grow a Radiant Flower. Doing so drains so much of my power. But...I feel as if a fraction of it has returned to me somehow..." Calyrex closed his eyes. "Perhaps it was me throwing away the misjudgements I had...I suppose I doun't sound as knowledgable as I made myself to be, hm?"
"Don't worry about it. I know a lot but there were still some things that caught me off guard. Especially when I met Ash." Sci-Twi laughed a bit. "That's how I got to where I was today. You're still smart, Calyrex, so don't doubt yourself."
"There is only one thing left to be done. Let the Radiant Flower bloom. I will create one at once. Behold, everyone." Calyrex would begin. His crown would start glowing as he held his arm out. Suddenly, the entire area would shake. All of a sudden, a beautiful blue light would form in front of him, amazing everyone that gazed upon it. They watched as with all of his power, Calyrex managed to manifest a Radiant Flower. Or in this case, a petal. A Radiant pETAL. "Crownus bloomus!" He bellowed after creating it.
"A flower?" The mayor exclaimed before gasping at the flower patch that appeared, picking up the flower that was so beautifully grown.
"Hoh...That is the best I can do with my current power. It pains me to say so. Take the strand of Spectrier's mane and the flower and do what you can to make the reins."
"We'll all gladly do so." The mayor spoke up. "Please, King Calyrex. As our show of kindness and a way to make up for so much lost time, let all of us in Freezington help make the Reins of Unity."
"Y-You would do so? For me?" Calyrex asked in bewilderment.
"We would be delighted to do so." A man said, giving a thumbs up.
The townsfolk were determined to do so. Calyrex felt touched by everyone. "I-I suppose...that there's no way out of this predicament." The king chuckled to himself, tears threatening to come out of his eyes. He was still truly appreciated and loved even in this time. "Then...I thank you all from the very bottom of my heart! To be given this second chance to reconnect with the land I had ruled for so long, and for this one chance to mend this torn friendship between all of you and me, and finally to give you all the peace of mind you've long deserved...Thank you! I shall always be in your debt!"
"We'll work together to make the reins, and in return you'll help us out with the whole Prisma thing." Sunset smiled. "Right, Ash?"
"You bet! We-" Ash spoke but someone interrupted him.
"Ash! Ash!" A familiar voice cried out in the distance. He turned his head, seeing Pheromosa approaching rapidly with the others. Pinkie Pie was the one crying out to Ash, waving her hoof at him. "Hey, Ash!"
"Pinkie...Fluttershy...Pheromosa...Everyone!" Ash took off, running to his friends instantly. There was no more important moment for him than to know his friends were okay. Everyone had a big group hug with one another, glad that each of their respective teams were okay. Sci-Twi and Sunset had big smiles, seeing each and every member of their party was alright. "Aw, you guys!" Ash cried out, managing to hold each of them once they jumped off Pheromosa or out of her grasp.
"We were so worried!" Fluttershy said in between the hug.
"Thank goodness we found you!" Pinkie Pie sighed in relief, the hug slowly ceasing. "It's been getting crazy lately!"
"No kidding...I know what you mean!" Ash laughed. "So much happened. So much. But I'm glad to see you all here."
Seeing this raised Ash's spirits some more. He was glad his friends were okay and they saw him in a safe state. All that's happened so far was chaotic in every sense of the word, but so far, they've all managed to pull through. Granted, the original Twilight Sparkle was still in peril, her body overtaken by Twilight Luminaria. But, with the help Ash would soon get from Calyrex once they solve his issue, he believed they would get Twilight back. And seeing his friends here uplifted that without a doubt.
Speaking of Twilight, elsewhere, another Twilight's safety was in peril. That being Twilight Wish. In her castle that was travelling across dimensions, she stayed relatively silent, being largely hidden from others, avoiding any potential attacks that may come her way. After all, she was a target for the Arcane Institute, being another reincarnation of Twilight Luminaria.
But so far, she's been A-Okay, untouched by anyone within the dimensional space.
Until now.
While she was seated, a sudden tremor would take her off her seat. She was knocked to the ground, grunting loudly. "What?! Did they find me?!" She got to her feet, seeing that her castle was suddenly under attack. By who, she did not know yet. But there was no other option to hide herself. She would have to defend herself.
"But that's impossible...Not even the Arcane Institute can access this dimensional space like this castle can. So who could it be?!" She was baffled. She was utterly confused. How could anyone have possibly found her when no one else could enter this space? Who was attacking her? It was someone who could enter this space.
It was Galaxy Master.
Ordered by Professor Grogar, the Fictional Superhero had blown a hole through the roof, making his entrance as a pillar of golden light. Twilight Wish squinted her eyes as the light appeared in her castle, wondering what was happening. The light would fade, showing him standing there with no words said. He had found her.
"W-Who are you?!" Twilight Wish was startled, backing away. She had no idea who this person was. She'd never seen him before.
Galaxy Master said nothing. He didn't have to. His true self would start making a boisterous speech, introducing his name and doing a pose at the same time. But not while he was being controlled. He was just a minion for Grogar. And Twilight Wish was the main target.
As the journey continues.
