The Power to Soothe

Previous Chapter

Prisma's Mindscape.

And since Selene was the key to it all, Twilight knew exactly who to target.

Prisma's body started to glow, and a strange energy began to emerge from him. It was unlike anything anyone had ever seen before. It was a pure, white light that radiated from him and seemed to fill the entire area. Everyone was taken aback by the sudden display of power and couldn't help but wonder just what was going on. Prisma's eyes went wide and he screamed as the light consumed him entirely, blinding everyone temporarily.

Twilight Luminaria's objective was to reach or Delia within Prisma, entering his Mindscape. It would be tricky to find her, but she had to at least make the attempt. The chances of succeeding were slim, but she had to try. But she didn't have to look that hard, because the second that she entered, she was greeted to the sight of the woman standing in front of her, stuck in this Mindscape.

"Delia!" Twilight Luminaria called out, her face manifesting in the Mindscape and staring directly at Delia.

"Twilight? Is that you?" Delia looked up at her.

"I knew I sensed you in there! But how long have you been here, Mrs Ketchum?" Twilight Luminaria questioned.

"I'm not sure. I believe it was right after breakfast." Delia giggled. "Either way, I talked with Prisma a bit, but he suddenly left and I've been stuck in her ever since. I don't believe he intended to leave me here at all."

"For you to still be here...that must be the Selene part of you maintaining this much power to stay in Prisma's mindscape. But...that's exactly what we'll use to win."

"Eh?"

"Delia. Since you're Selene's reincarnation, you're the only one that can stop this. Specifically, the cycle. If you can find a way to get in touch with Selene's power, you could put an end to the cycle. We'll handle Prisma. All of us."

"Me? Are...you sure, Twilight?"

"You're the only one that can. You were always the reason why the Cycle reset. But don't worry. I'll ensure that you're able to use magic yourself." To ensure Delia could pull it off, Twilight had to awaken her. She was the only one that has not yet awakened the dormant soul within her or even shown a inkling of awakening it. But Twilight Luminaria was about to change that, willingly trying to awaken Selene within Delia for the sake of stopping the cycle.

However, even though Twilight managed to enter here, it would not be so easy. Something roared its way in, attacking her projected form. It was the Dragon Matter, which zoomed by, pushing Twilight Luminaria back as Delia gasped. It was clear that Prisma was getting involved from within.

The Dragon Matter started taking form, becoming a energy entity that could interact with the Mindscape. From it, Prisma had emerged.

"Did you seriously think you would have a chance to go through with that, Sparkling Queen?! With this being my own mindscape, I have a huge advantage over you!" Prisma boasted. "You're not gonna reach the 7th Dimensional Space! I won't let you!"

With a powerful yell, he breathed out Dragon Matter from his mouth at the two of them. Twilight Luminaria quickly threw a barrier around herself and Delia, preventing the attacks from getting to them. She glared at Prisma and then at the massive amount of Dragon Matter in the area. She had to get rid of it and quick, or else they wouldn't have a chance to stop the cycle.

"Prisma! Listen to me! You and I both know that the cycle is being caused by Selen! So please, let us try and stop it by freeing Selene! You don't have to keep fighting!" Twilight Luminaria begged. She believed that Prisma would stop if he was told that since there was a clear reason to his madness.

"Hmph. You believe it to be that easy? Clearly, you're forgetting two factors. What will you do about the Star Tyrant and Thyrian?" Prisma questioned. "My mother had to form this cycle because of those two. She isn't the only one adding to this cycle. It's all to stop them from destroying everything...but that's precisely why I'm doing to do their job for them.

"W-What?! Why?!" Twilight Luminaria stuttered.

"You can stop the cycle sure, but my mother has suffered for too long and the Star Tyrant will still come. In your current point in time, it's far too early for it to appear. But down the road, it will descend upon your world."

"And you don't believe that we can't stop it?!"

"I didn't say that. But I will say this...I want it all to end. My mother's suffering and my own. With each reset, more and more of her life has been sapped away, damaging her body just to protect me. I want that to finally be undone." Prisma admitted. "And besides...you honestly think I can be the same up here?" He pointed to his head, referring to his sanity. After 88.8 Billion Resets, his mind was in tatters. Would he ever be the same again?

Not at all. In fact, because of him breaking on that fateful day, destroying everything was all that was on his mind with the only thing left being the the thirst for battle and the will to destroy.

"So...if you think you can truly stop me, go ahead. But that won't stop me from bringing everything to ruin!" Prisma yelled at the force of his shout, the dragon matter moved in his favor, beginning to form giant ists that would attack the duo. As expected, the MindScape was completely under his control. Now the question was how Twilight Luminaria was going to deal with this.

All she had to do was give Delia the chance to awaken the dormant soul within her, so that she can use magic and bring an end to this cycle. But holding Prisma off was the first objective.

So, using a spell, Twilight Luminaria summoned a pressure worth 10 Hurricanes, clashing with the Dragon Matter and stopping the fists. After stopping them, she turned the fists into her own weapon, throwing large magical projectiles at Prisma and the Dragon Matter. The Dragon Matter resurfaced, absorbing the projectiles and erasing them.

Twilight Luminaria then made herself into a living whirlwind, moving swiftly across the Mindscape without being detected, landing direct hits on him. While it didn't do much damage, the fact that Prisma was feeling anything was a miracle in itself. Prisma swung his arm, tearing apart his own Mindscape in the process.

By doing so, he managed to hit Twilight Luminaria's whirlwind body, knocking her out of it and making her slam into the ground, forming a crater in the mental landscape. Prisma's hand grabbed hold of her, lifting her in the air and slamming her back down on the ground. He then used his other fist to punch her through the Mindscape and send her crashing into the distance.

But despite that, Twilight Luminaria managed to recover. She promptly used her magic to manipulate the mountains behind her, managing to move them. The massive mountains were flung at Prisma, but the man simply punched the mountain, shattering the massive culmination of rocks.

However, Twilight wasn't finished. Using a spell, the rocks that shattered from the mountain came to life, forming hands and mouths. They were given a singular purpose, and that was to tear and devour the dragon matter in the mindscape. The Rocks became sentient and attacked the Dragon Matter, causing it to scream in agony as chunks of it were torn apart and eaten. Prisma grunted, annoyed at the turn of events, deciding to use the rest of his dragon matter to blast the rocks to smithereens and revert them to normal, inanimate boulders.

As Twilight Luminaria tried to recover from the earlier attacks, the Dragon Matter went on the offensive. It began to surround her, and the moment that happened, the entire Mindscape went dark, with the only things visible were her, Prisma and Delia. Suddenly, the darkness took form, becoming several gigantic dragons. These Dragons surrounded Twilight Luminaria in a circle and all of them were roaring at her.

Without a second of hesitation, they rushed at her, opening their mouths and firing off a devastating beam of pure destruction that combined into a single, concentrated beam of light that engulfed the alicorn princess. It was a destructive, chaotic display that tore apart the very fabric of the Mindscape.

But after a while, Twilight Luminaria had enough of the beams, using her magic to cut off the attack from the dragons. Now that she was free from that, the alicorn was able to fight back against the dragon matter, which had formed into dragons.

With a swing of her hoof, the Alicorn conjured a massive light blade of raw that sliced the dragons in half, leaving only the main target left. Her focus returned to her foe. Prisma was still watching her, smirking, knowing that no matter what, he was in the superior position.

"Think you can pull off what you want in here?!" Prisma laughed at her.

"I can...but I'm not going to do it alone...I have to count on my friends!"

Reality. Sinnoh. Alamos Town. Nightfall.

And speaking of the outside, even though Twilight Luminaria managed to land the spell on Prisma's chest, leaving him stunned, it didn't leave him defenseless. In the real world, Prisma's Dragon Matter was fighting for him. The Dragon Matter was reacting violently, expanding and latching onto the ground below him. It was starting to create fissures, cracks that allowed the Dragon Matter to pour out and spread. It was slowly turning everything around him into the material.

"What's going on?! Is Twilight winning in there?!" Rainbow Dash cried out.

"I don't know! Neither have moved yet, but the Dragon Matter is instinctively defending Prisma from us, so I'd say we're not getting anywhere close to him!" Celestia responded. "But...we can't waste this opportunity whatsoever."

"And we won't. If you need all the help you can get, I know exactly what to do." Calyrex had something in mind and it involved freeing more souls. But this time, it wouldn't be the souls of Prisma. With Spectrier galloping away, Calyrex was off to gather extra help.

As for the other Trainers, their Pokemon were dropping left and right in the face of Prisma and his Pokemon who were disgustingly strong. Many were blown back and knocked out of the battle. Despite their best efforts, they weren't gaining any ground.

The ponies of Ponyville grunted as many of their Pokemon were being overwhelmed, the pressure of these attacks reaching them and knocking everyone back. The sheer power of the blasts were overwhelming and the ground was being ripped apart. Even the Legendary Pokemon were struggling to hold their own. No matter what strategy or move they used, the many Pokemon that Prisma had were far too much. And it was only going to get worse.

Emerging from the Dragon Matter was Prisma's Charizard, who took flight immediately. It was followed by a flock of Flying and Psychic Types, such as Xatu, Corviknight, Unfeazant, Braviary, Staraptor, Noctowl, Talonflame and so on. This group of birds was led by a Corviknight, whose body was now composed entirely of the Dragon Matter. These flying Pokemon swarmed the skies, attacking from the skies with powerful physical moves.

Charizard, on the other hand, charged up a Blast Burn from above and unleashed a torrent of fire that rained down from the sky, burning the land below.

On the surface, a Typhlosion rose from the Dragon Matter, shooting off a series of Fire Blasts that exploded in the air. A Machamp, Dusknoir and Gallade emerged from the Dragon Matter and started to attack the trainers and their Pokemon with a variety of punches, kicks and psychic moves. Soon, the whole area was a mess with the members of One Light doing their best to hold out. They knew they couldn't win in a full-on battle, so all they had to was buy some time.

But how long could they hold out?

In the midst of the chaos, Prisma's Lucario was unleashing a terrifying Aura Storm, ripping the earth apart. His Gengar was using Shadow Balls to launch a devastating barrage of shadowy energy that was tearing through the battlefield. More and more Pokemon were appearing from the Dragon Matter with violent tendencies, only adding more and more pressure. It was overwhelming for everyone to handle.

Celestia, Luna, Gardevoir and Darkrai put up a massive wall of magic, Fairy Energy and Darkness in front of everyone, keeping the attacks from hitting anyone else. With their amazing power, they could actually give everyone more and more time to hold out. And in the case of Darkrai, he would throw awn orb into the sky, that orb being Dark Void.

The Dark Void then released multiple mini orbs that scattered across the field. Each one of these small, purple spheres of darkness would strike the heads of the wild, frenzied Pokemon, putting them to sleep. As a result, the crazed Pokemon fell to the ground, fast asleep. The Dark Void was the best shot at holding them back, even if some of the Pokemon could wake up with the Dragon Matter forcing them awake or even outright ignoring it with their respective abilities.

"At this rate..." Luna saw the state of this current battle, wondering if they could really keep on going at this point. How could they hope to win if their enemy kept growing in strength and numbers? Alamos Town was being swallowed by the Dragon Matter along with the rest of the world.

"Heh...Haha...HAHAHAHA!" Suddenly, Prisma could be heard laughing from both the Dragon Matter and his body. His eyes moved up as he had regained some consciousness, looking at everyone around him. As his laugh intensified, so did his Dragon Matter, whipping everything with immense force.

His Charizard flew in, attempting to strike a group of ponies, only to be stopped by Leon's Charizard. The two fire types were in a fierce clash, the Dragon Matter of Prisma's Charizard spreading to Leon's Pokemon. However, Leon's Charizard was not about to let that happen and pushed back with a Fire Blast. The intense heat burned the dragon matter, causing it to hiss and recoil. Then, the two Charizards were engaged in a vicious aerial duel, their bodies twisting and turning as they clashed again and again.

"Come on, Twilight..." Ash was counting on Twilight Luminaria to pull it off within Prisma, no matter how difficult the challenge. But as he counted on Twilight and this battle kept escalating, someone had appeared.

It wasn't Calyrex. But rather, someone else.

"Evening, all of you!" As the voice spoke to them from above, they all looked up to see it was none other than Discord. Not just Discord, but also the tiny Fairy Creature born from the Fairy Egg who was on his back.

"Discord!" Fluttershy gasped with a bright smile on her ace. In fact, all of them had smiles form on their faces. For once, a majority of them were glad to see Discord, the Draconequus known to cause mischief and mayhem. If anyone could turn the tables, it was him. The tiny Fairy Creature waved at everyone while bluring her babyish babble.

"My, look at all of this. The world's all bruised and the moon's been destroyed again." Discord shook his head. "Nothing I can't fix, but that right there..." He pointed at Prisma who continued to violently attack the land.

"Can you fix this by stopping Prisma?!" Mayor Mare yelled at him.

"I can't stop him directly. All that Dragon Matter is a bother. Just like this little darling. Her Fairy Matter is potent enough to mess with my magic." He scratched the creature's head, making her giggle and coo. "I call her Fariety. Anyway, I'll help with the cleanup. For starters..." Discord snapped his fingers. Suddenly, the sky turned from dark red to blue, the sun shined and the clouds dispersed. A rainbow of colors burst from the horizon, the first signs of a beautiful day. Then the city itself was restored to its former beauty, no longer corrupted and covered in Dragon Matter. And finally, the people of the world were no longer in pain, their suffering had ceased. The entire world was free of its corruption and destruction. It was as good as new!

But it could easily be ruined again by the Dragon Matter if something wasn't done quickly. "As for Prisma, Fariety here has a nice solution to your predicament. She's a bit of a visionary."

"Well, what is it?!" A pony asked as they all needed the answer.

"She sees that Twilight over there is trying to get Delia to end the cycle, her being Selene and all that. But right now, even with all that magic, she can't hope to give Delia the power she needs since Prisma is in the way." Discord explained, revealing that within Prisma's Mindscape, Twilight Luminaria was struggling like no other.

"Twilight..." Ash turned to look back at the body of Prisma.

"But...there's a solution. What you all need is a way to soothe the soul. And thankfully, Fairy Matter can do just that."

"Is there even any Fairy Matter left? Most of it has been destroyed by the Dragon Matter." Luna spoke.

"Even this little troublemaker can't pull off enough Fairy Matter to stop this...but all of you can try and soothe the soul in your own ways. What you need to do is hit Prisma with something so soothing that it can give Mrs Ketchum that golden chance to fix all of this. Any ideas, all of you?" Discord quesitoned.

"...I know!" Fluttershy certainly had a method and that came directly from Audino. She looked at Audino as they nodded in unison. It was time for Mega Evolution. Fluttershy grabbed her keystone, readying the process.

Audino stood in the middle of the battlefield, ready to face Prisma's army of wild, raging Pokémon. She had to use Heal Pulse to its maximum output, resulting in an Overheal that can soothe the bodies of others.

"Here goes...! Audi! Mega Evolve!" Fluttershy cried out as the keystone would glow brighter than ever.

"Aud! Audinoooooo!" Audino yelled as she was enveloped in a brilliant white light. The light burst forth with multiple particles of Fairy Magic flying all over. When the light faded, Mega Audino emerged.

"Here goes! Heal Pulse! Max Output!"

"Audino!" Mega Audino raised her arms as she began building up all the power she had, every single ounce of Fairy Energy. Then, she unleashed the ultimate Heal Pulse. This pulse of pink energy was larger and more powerful than anything seen before. It washed across the entire battlefield, enveloping the frenzied Pokémon and the raging Dragon Matter in a calming, soothing aura.

The Pokemon of Prisma grimaced as they were frozen in place, the raging energy of the Dragon Matter within them reacting to this sudden influx of Fairy-type energy. Their movements slowed down, and their attacks became weaker. The wild Pokémon started to calm down, their aggression slowly fading away. Even the Dragon Matter began to lose its fury, becoming less aggressive and hostile. But it was clearly fighting back.

The Heal Pulse reached Prisma who was the main target of this. As the energy struck him, he too reacted even with the rest of him within the Mindscape. But the effects of the Fairy Magic were strong, and his struggles against it were evident. He was not completely immune to its effects, but his connection to the Dragon Matter made him resilient. Nonetheless, the Heal Pulse had a noticeable effect.

"Y-You...!" He growled. Both in reality and within his Mindscape. Twilight Luminaria saw Prisma jitter, the Dragon Matter that made up his energy visage pulsating as the Fairy Magic was affecting him in a negative manner. And yet, his reaction was still to push back and resist the attempts at soothing him. "This won't work! Nothing you will do can ever change the outcome!"

"It's working! Keep it up, Audi!" Fluttershy cheered along with everyone else. They were getting through to him, and the result was clear. If the healing continued, he would soon succumb to the calming effects.

"Audi...Audino...!" Audino growled, pushing her power to its very limits. Her body began to shake from the strain, sweat forming on her brow. Still, she persisted, pouring every ounce of her energy into the Heal Pulse.

"I don't think Audino can keep it up forever!" Rarity pointed out. As powerful as she was, she would not be able to last against such a force.

"Not for long!" Celestia, Luna and Harmony would assist with that. The three Alicorns aimed at Audino, shooting their horns to send a beam of powerful magic her way. With this power increase, Audino would be at her strongest and her stamina would not drop too rapidly. "Keep going, Fluttershy!"

"Right! Come on, Audino. We can do this together! Please!" Fluttershy exclaimed.

Mega Audino's body glowed with a radiant, sparkling light. She closed her eyes and concentrated, focusing all her willpower on the task at hand. The air around her vibrated with an immense, magical pressure. This clash was tremendous but it was only going to get bigger from here.

Fariety assisted, bringing forth the Fairy Matter. Being a creature born from the Fairy Egg, another contingency that Twilight Luminaria had in store, she was overflowing with Fairy Matter and Fairy Magic. Though not the most experienced, she was able to generate a disgusting amount. "Ba-Ba! Ba-ba-ba!" She babbled as the Fairy Matter emerged from the ground in massive quantities. It shot straight at the Dragon Matter, and the two forces clashed in a violent storm of magical energies.

The Raging Power of the Dragon Matter and the Soothing Power of the Fairy Matter plus Heal Pulse were now in direct conflict. Each side strained to gain the upper hand, their respective forces colliding in a spectacular display of raw, elemental might. The skies themselves were rapidly changing colors, from a deep red to a soothing, soft pink, and then back again, reflecting the intensity of the struggle. Lightning of pure, intense magics crackled and danced through the air. Explosions of energy erupted at random, and the earth shook beneath their feet.

And yet, One Light couldn't fully push through. The Dragon Matter was doing an excellent job at holding back the Fairy Matter and Heal Pulse at the same time. It was a miracle that they were pushing hard, but it wasn't enough. How can they truly soothe the mind of someone who is in so much pain?

"Is it still not enough...?!" Spitfire shuddered in shock. Many were flabbergasted by how much resistance was shown. No matter what, the situation was not improving. Something was missing and they did not have any idea of how to solve it.

"Not even all of that can soothe him?! What's it going to take?!" Pinkie Pie said with confusion. It semeed like they didn't have enough soothing options available. They all started thinking of something. Anything to overcome this.

And that's when it hit him. Ash knew of something that would do the trick.

And that something was the location they were in right now.

"Oracion..." He said, looking up at the Space-Time Towers in the distance. And without saying anything else, he bolted for it, rushing to the Space-Time Towers with Pikachu by his side.

"Ash! Where are you going?!" Following him was Fluttershy, who flew after him.

"If there's one thing I know that can really soothe someone...It's Oracion! It's gotta be!" Ash was betting it all on Oracion. His eyes narrowed as he rushed towards the Space-Time Towers. Right now, it was all coming down to the wire. He would not fail. Every second counted.

As the journey continues.

Chapter 777 End.
