Off Duty

Watching the dragon eggs was a painful task for Twilight, First off, was the rainy season, so it was hard for her with no strong cover to protect from the falling water or from the possible sickness causing bacteria in the water. After that, it was onto fall, while it started slow, it really picked up quite fast. It was the easiest for Twilight, it was a little cold but overall the hazards weren't anything dangerous, just a bunch of loose leaves blowing in the wind.

And after that came the worst one yet snow season or snowy season, it basically combined rainy season and cold temperature together, and made it 10 times worst just like the rain no real cover from the snow or temperature. Luckily for Twilight after all that crazy weather was spring no real problems during this season with temperature or conditions. The only real problem here seem to be her mood from experiencing all that crazy weather

Everything that was just described was only 1 one month of this. Yep that's right this ended up lasting for 6 months which felt like a eternity to Twilight the whole point of watching dragon eggs was to wait for them to either hatch or for a dragon to find them all the while protecting them from hungry seaponies/hippogriff.

"I'M AWAKE!" Twilight yelled waking up from a night of watching the dragon eggs, she suddenly found herself get a pair of sunglasses on her face, a sunhat on her head and given a camera.

"HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" she protested "Twilight it's your Off Duty Vacation, your week off" Fluttershy explained to her friend "Vacation i didn't even know, we did that." Twilight responded.

"We all take turns on an Off Duty vacation, everyone else had already taken theirs so now it's your turn, come on get going." Fluttershy said shoving Twilight along "HOLD ON, Hold on who's gonna watch the dragon eggs while i'm gone" the unicorn asked

"Oh don't worry Applejack, Rainbow Dash and The Cutie Mark Crusaders will look after them" Fluttershy explained to her.

When Twilight looked at the nest area she found the others slacking off. Rainbow Dash stretching out her wings , Applejack was busy eating apples from a basket and the Crusaders were drawing a picture.

"Don't worry i'll handle this LISTEN UP EVERYPONY!" Fluttershy yelled in an angered tone, before going back to her normal shy tone "Twilight is going on a Off Duty Vacation it's her week off so she's leaving you 5 to look after the dragon eggs got it?" she said getting a nod from the others.

The other 5 ponies gathered around the nest of dragon eggs and started looking around "See Twilight the eggs are in good hooves, come on better get going" the pegasus said giving Twilight her luggage before pushing her. "Bye see you in a week"
Fluttershy said before flying off back to her garden.

Twilight was never really sure if she should trust the other members of the group with the dragon eggs since it was pretty common for the others to get cocky and distracted. In fact most of the time they act cocky led to close calls with the Hippogriffs almost getting away with the eggs if it wasn't for her. Twilight picked up her luggage with her magic and took a few steps before looking back, finding the others slacking off, as soon as they realized they went into their defense mode.

"Not so sure about this" Twilight thought before taking a few more steps forward before turning around again, finding the other members slacking off before going back to their defense modes. She looked back taking the last few steps before going out of sight.

"You think she's gone?" Rainbow whispered to Applejack "I'm gonna be honest pretty sure she is" the earth pony responded.

"I think it's safe to say that it's safe to go back to whatever we were doing." Apple Bloom said before her and the other 2 crusaders went back to drawing shortly being followed by the 2 older ponies going back to what they were doing.

"HEY!" Twilight yelled trotting over and stopping in front of the group causing them to go back into their defense mode.

Even after that whole mess was solved with the others slacking off and Twilight finally made it to a beach sitting in a folding chair, with a sun umbrella and a coconut cup with a cocktail umbrella. She was still anxious not fully trusting the others with guarding the dragon eggs. Scared of what might happen or how they could screw this up while at the same time trying to enjoy her vacation.

She tried to play some calm beach music to get her mind off this fear, but this didn't really have much of an effect on her. Twilight decided to go for a sip of her drink, but when she did she saw it turn into a dragon egg for a split second "WHAT THE!" the unicorn yelled almost knocking her drink over

"Calm down Twilight don't let all that dragon egg protecting get to you" she thought to herself before putting on her sunglasses trying to relax

Meanwhile back with the others they've just finished with a scavenger hunt "Thought a scavenger hunt for the coolest would make things more interesting." Rainbow said before pulling out a pair of goggles

"Found this pair of goggles looks brand new and could definitely help with my flying." the pegasus said before trying on the goggles

"We managed to find the remains of what looks like a treehouse or a clubhouse not the coolest just strange to us." Scootaloo explained

"I'm gonna be honest i'm not really sure what i found it looks like some kind of orange shiny stone on a golden collar." Applejack explained examining the strange item.

Princess Skystar in her hippogriff form was watching the ponies from the bushes

"Alright every hippogriff not only are the land ponies distracted Twilight Sparkle also isn't there giving us a huge advantage. Here's the plan we'll ambush them and steal the dragon eggs it's that simple." Skystar told an army of Seaponies/Hippogriffs with a variety of weapons.

Applejack and Rainbow started playing ball with the Cutie Mark Crusaders before they noticed shadows under them getting bigger. When they all looked up they saw a huge army of hippogriffs with nets and a variety of weapons.

"AMBUSH GET THE DRAGON EGGS!" Skystar yelled guiding the army.

"Maybe taking some pictures will take my mind off the dragon eggs." Twilight said to herself before looking for something photo worthy. See then found a coconut tree and knew that it was photo worthy, but when she pointed her camera at it the coconuts turned into dragon eggs.

"Dragon Eggs?" she said in a confused tone before pointing the camera at rocks that also turned into a dragon egg "Dragon Eggs,DRAGON EGGS AHHH!?" she yelled before dropping the camera and stomping on it breaking it.

"Phew glad that's over" Twilight thought before looking up at the sun which was in the shape of a dragon egg "DRAGON EGG!" the unicorn yelled "I can't take this anymore!" she admitted before trotting off at a speed not even Rainbow Dash could beat.

When Twilight got back not only was the nest empty Rainbow Dash was beaten into a stone wall, Applejack was beaten into the ground only hat visible, Apple Bloom's head was stuck inside a tree, Sweetie Belle was tangled in a bush next to the tree Apple Bloom was stuck in and Scootaloo fell out of said tree.

With a sigh Twilight ran to a certain part of the beach put on a fish bowl helmet on and dived in, before completely destroying Seaquestria by casting a spell that created an underwater earthquake. In the end she came back with the dragon eggs and put them back in the nest.

"Why weren't any of you focusing on protecting the dragon eggs that was another close call." Twilight said in an angered tone

"Sorry about that Twilight" Applejack apologized followed by Rainbow Dash and the crusaders all feeling bad for what happened "Eh i can't stay too mad at you guys, you know this gives me an idea." Twilight told the others

Twilight returned to the beach but with the other this time who were playing ball. She had also brought the dragon eggs along setting them down in folding chairs and dressed them up in hats and sunglasses. Twilight enjoyed the rest of her vacation knowing that she can finally relax without the fear of the Seaponies/Hippogriffs stealing the eggs.

I decided to to replace the pigs with Seaponies since according to science cracking an egg at the ocean floor doesn't cause it to dissolve into a gooey mess and instead acts like a shell keeping the yolk intact.
