Bonus Part 1: Awkward Parenting and a New Plan

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It was a nice sunny day in Equestria, with only a couple clouds dotting the sky. A couple of pegasi flew over the town, while other ponies could be seen in the town, doing various activities such as picnicking, sunbathing, and shopping.

It was quite peaceful.

Sitting in the town was the very prominent Castle of Friendship, owned and inhabited by Princess Twilight Sparkle, Starlight Glimmer, Spike the dragon, and Chrysalis, former queen of the changelings.

Said Changeling had been living at the castle for three months now and was currently sitting in her bedroom located below the castle. She had a book in her hands that she was looking at while resting her chin on her hand.

Chrysalis sighed as she stared at the book, not paying attention to the words at all. ‘Still haven’t thought of what I could say to my former hive,’ The changeling thought, frowning a bit. ‘Dammit!!!’

As she sat there, staring at the book she wasn’t reading, the nearby door opened, before Starlight Glimmer walked in.

“Hey Chrysalis, Twilight wanted to see you- oh for Pete’s Sake Chrysalis!!” Starlight said as she covered her blushing face as she gazed on the form of the nude changeling.

“What, you’re not used to this by now?” she said with a smirk, sitting up from the bed and setting the book to the side. “I’ve told you ponies a thousand times, I don’t need clothes,” She continued, her MM-cup chest proudly displayed for all to see.

“Would it kill you to at least put a robe on?” Starlight groaned. “I had to drag Spike out of here the last time he walked in on you like that.”

“It’s not my fault he was sheltered and can’t see a naked mare without getting a nosebleed,” Chrysalis replied with a smirk. “And besides, I was only teasing him.”

“You know a pony can only take so much Chrysalis,”

“Aw, is somepony still bitter that she tried to reach out to me, but a stud colt beat her to it?” Chrysalis taunted as she got up from the bed, revealing the rest of her 8-and-a-half-foot tall sexy body. Her hips were quite wide, perfect for laying eggs, and her ass cheeks were each as big as soccer balls.

“N-No!!” Starlight said, her voice wavering a bit.

“Oh!! You are!!” She replied with a grin. “Good!! I was afraid you’d gotten over it by now!!” She continued, causing Starlight to groan. “Now then, what brings you to my domain?”

“Twilight said that she wanted to see you in the throne room,” she added in annoyance. “Something about your former hive after she got in contact with them.”

Upon hearing that, Chrysalis’ heart started to beat a bit faster than normal. ‘What could they have said?’ She thought with worry and confusion. “Is that all?” She asked Starlight.

“She wanted to ask how you were going to talk to them,” Starlight continued.

“I’m going to talk to them by…” Chrysalis trailed off as she stood there, mouth wide open, revealing her bright green tongue. ‘How will I talk with them?’ She thought. ‘I don’t even know what exactly to say to start the conversation off well.’ She had many ideas of how to start the conversation, but none of them would be good, as over half consisted of threats. And the others consisted of a combination of “I’m your mother” and “I kept you all safe!!” reasons.

“You have no idea at all, do you,” Starlight said after fifteen seconds had passed by, arching an eyebrow as she stared at her.

“Yes, I do!!” Chrysalis replied quickly. “I just need to run it by Twilight before I say what it is,” She continued with a smirk.

Starlight chuckled at that. “Alright, if you say so,” she said, before she turned and walked away. “Oh, I should also mention that Button’s in one of the guest rooms right now,” She continued, stopping at the doorway. “He just arrived.”

“Oh, really now?” Chrysalis said, a grin growing on her face as she licked her lips. “How delightful!!”

“You can visit him after you speak with Twilight,” Starlight replied with a roll of her eyes, before she continued on out the door. “And if you lay any more eggs, be sure to let us know immediately!!” She called back as her hoofsteps started to get fainter in sound. “And put on a robe!!”

Upon hearing that, Chrysalis rolled her eyes. “Ponies,” she said with a shake of her head, before she turned to a nearby wardrobe, which she then opened with her magic. “They have to be soooo modest,” She continued as she levitated out a dark green bathrobe with a black letter “C” on the breast, before she slid it on, with her wings going through two slits in the back.

Once the robe was securely on, she walked out the door of her room and started heading towards some nearby stairs.

As she did so, her mind drifted a bit. The three months of living at the castle with Twilight Sparkle and her student Starlight had not been easy. The two didn’t trust her much, which was to be expected after all she’d done. Heck, the only reason she wasn’t in irons or turned to stone was because of the stud Earth colt named Button Mash. It was at least better than whenever she went out. Word spread around pretty fast in the small town of her being with the Princess of Friendship. The only reason that she wasn’t even attacked yet was because she was under ‘protective custody’ and she was technically on probation, which some considered very lucky. Time would heal wounds, but it was pretty difficult to adjust to it all.

‘But at least I can see Button Mash,’ She thought with a small smile, before she shook her head, losing the smile as she reached the top of the stairs. ‘Ugh!! No!! Don’t think of him like that!! I do not love him!!’ She continued, sounding very stubborn as she walked through the halls. ‘That pink princess Candy is wrong!! I don’t love him!!’

She continued to stubbornly grumble about not loving Button Mash as she reached the doors to the throne room, before she sighed, and pushed them open. “Twilight Sparkle!! What is so important that you had to interrupt my reading?!” She stated firmly as she entered the room, putting on a face of frustration.

“Chrysalis, there is no need to yell,” Twilight replied with a sigh as she sat in her throne, a small pile of papers on the Cutie Map table before her.

“Then could you tell me why you called me in here?” she asked in annoyance.

“I spoke with King Thorax about your current accommodations,” she began, and Chrysalis grimaced a bit, hearing his name.

“Still can’t believe he’s the king,” She grumbled with a shake of her head. “He is sooo unqualified.”

“I’ve heard that a lot before,” Twilight added, rolling her eyes in annoyance. “But that doesn’t mean you have to be petty about it because he was trying to help you and your kin go in a new direction. I’d just wish you would get over it and stop being so stubborn.”

Chrysalis huffed. “Easy for you to say. He’s not your kid,” She answered. “You’ve never been overthrown by your own blood. And I told you, I didn’t believe that we could live by sharing love, or that it was even possible.”

“I know!!” Twilight replied, pinching the bridge of her eyes as she sat there and took in a deep breath, before letting it out. “Anyways, He is willing to meet you to discuss your progress in a few weeks,” She continued, unknowingly causing Chrysalis’ heart to start racing slightly with nervousness.

“Where will it happen?” She asked Twilight, trying to sound as uninterested and calm as possible.

“Oh, it’ll happen here!!” Twilight replied. “He doesn’t think it’d be a good idea to meet at your old kingdom. He doesn’t want to bring up any bad memories,” She continued with an uneasy smile.

“Why am I not surprised given I ran away in a rage because I let my pride get the better of me,” she said in annoyance and gave Twilight a dull stare. “Just say that he’s scared of me, and not dance around it,” She continued, causing Twilight’s uneasy smile to grow more. “Is that all?” She questioned.

At that, Twilight shook her head. “No, actually, we have two more things to discuss,” she said. “Number one, Ocellus.”

“What about her?” Chrysalis replied.

“Well, since she found out that she’s Zephyr Breeze’s daughter and you’re her mother, she’s been a bit…upset,” Twilight continued with a small smile, before she arched an eyebrow at her. “How could she not know she is your daughter anyway??”

“I lied saying that she was my niece from another distant cousin since I was too ashamed of how she was conceived from that nuisance I slept with last time,” she admitted in annoyance. “And since I have so many kids, I obviously had help with raising the grubs. And I didn't spend as much time with her, so I let her think that the ones who raised her were her parents, as it helped hide her father.”

“Well, in any case, she’s been hiding in her room for the past couple of weeks, and none of her friends can get her out,” Twilight replied.

“So, you’re asking me to go and talk to her despite what I did?” Chrysalis asked her with an arched eyebrow. “Are you serious?”

“I am,” Twilight replied firmly. “And I want you to talk with Zephyr Breeze and introduce her to him. Fluttershy’s told me that he’s rather nervous about meeting his daughter and could use a companion when talking with her.”

“Oh, buck no!!!” Chrysalis said quickly and firmly. “No way in all of Equestria am I even looking at that mess of a stallion ever again!!”

“Even if it means she’d never meet her father?” Twilight asked her.

“I never wanted her to even know who her father was,” Chrysalis replied firmly. “I won’t do it!!”

Twilight groaned at that. “Chrysalis!! Please!!!!” She said, starting to sound a bit frustrated “Ocellus’ mental state could seriously suffer if you don’t do this!!”

“It’ll do more than suffer if she meets him!!” Chrysalis replied. “I will not have her meet him!!”

“Please!!”

“No!!”

“Please!!”

“I won’t do it!!”

“PLEASE CHRYSALIS!!!”

“No!!”

“GRRRAAAAAAAGH!!” Twilight groaned with much frustration, clenching her fists as she stared at the changeling queen, who was staring back at her with crossed arms.

The two stared at each other for several seconds, before a nearby door swung open, and Button Mash walked in.

“What’re you doing here?” Chrysalis asked upon seeing him.

“I brought over some cake, and I figured you wanted some,” he added, holding up a couple slices of yellow cake on a plate. “I heard you and Twilight in a yelling match, what is that about?” he asked her with a cocked head.

“Pretty Princess Twilight here wants me to meet Zephyr Breeze,” Chrysalis replied with a growl. “And to introduce him to Ocellus.”

“Then why don’t you?” he asked her.

“Did you and I not have a talk about why he’s been a nuisance in my life?” Chrysalis replied, while Twilight watched her talk with Button Mash. “I can’t stand the guy!! And Ocellus doesn’t need to meet him!!”

“That doesn’t mean it’s right,” he said as he walked closer to her. “You shouldn’t deny her the chance to get to know her father just because you don’t like him,” He continued. “And hey, maybe he’s not as bad as he once was.”

“I’m not meeting him, and that's highly unlikely."

“You don’t mean that,” he told her as he walked closer.

Chrysalis frowned at that and started to raise a hand up. As it reached halfway up into the air, he set the cake down on the nearby table, before he wrapped his arms around her in a loving hug. This caused her to freeze, and she felt the emotion of love pouring out of him. “Come on Chrysalis,” he said as he hugged her. “You can do it. Imagine if that was me or you and you never got to meet your family. How would that make you feel?”

‘Bucking dammit!!’ Chrysalis thought as she looked down at the Earth Pony stallion, her heart fluttering as she did so. ‘I’m not in love with him. I’m not in love with him. I’m not in love with him!! Why do you make me feel this way!!?’ She said in her head, while her mind started pulling up her answer to his question.

She was silent for a couple minutes, before she lowered her arm, and sighed. “I’d be upset,” She replied, sounding frustrated. She then turned her head around to look at Twilight, making her a bit uncomfortable due to how far she’d turned her head. “Fiiiiiiiiine!!!!” she hissed. “I’ll do it!! But don’t expect me to like it!!” She continued as she turned her head back around.

“Oh, that’s wonderful Chrysalis!!!” Twilight said, a smile gracing her face as she looked at her. “I know this will help Ocellus!! And maybe help you!!”

“I doubt it,” She replied flatly. “So, when do I meet her?” She asked.

“Right after we finish our conversation,” Twilight said, causing Chrysalis’ face to drop a bit more. “She needs help as soon as possible,” She continued, her smile disappearing and being replaced with a firm look.

“Ugghh!! Alright,” Chrysalis replied with another roll of her eyes as Button let go of her. “What else did you want to talk about?”

“Oh, well, I was wondering,” Twilight began, a curious look appearing on her face. “Do you know why Princess Luna has been seen in Ponyville so much lately?” She asked.

“She’s been in Ponyville?” Button said with surprise. “I didn’t know that.”

“You’re not an Alicorn, so of course you wouldn't notice,” Chrysalis sarcastically said. “I’ve noticed her after our ‘sessions’, probably to try and keep an eye on me or something,” She continued, grinning on the inside.

“Maybe,” Twilight replied with a small nod. “Maybe. It’s kind of strange though. I saw her yesterday in the clouds, looking down at the town. I tried to get her attention, but she disappeared as soon as I did so. You’d think that if she was keeping an eye on you, she’d at least want to talk with me.”

“I’m not sure what’s going on in her head right now, and I don’t care,” Chrysalis said in annoyance. “If she wants to talk to me, I’d wish she wouldn’t act like a ghost every time.”

“Well, you can be a bit hard to approach,” Twilight said.

“I was aiming for that, so thanks for the compliment,” Chrysalis replied. “Now, was that it?”

“Yes, that was it, Chrysalis,” Twilight said with a nod, before she smiled excitedly. “Now then!! Let’s go get Zephyr Breeze and see Ocellus!!” She continued.

“Oh…joy…” she groaned, before Twilight hopped out of her chair and walked towards the door. “This better not take long,” She continued as she started to slowly follow Twilight.

“Bye Chrysalis!! Good luck!!” Button called out as the two left the room, before he sighed. “Now then, what to do?” He questioned, standing in the room and tapping his chin in thought for several seconds.

Then, he smiled. “I better say hi to the kids!” He said, before he left the room and started to head down the nearby hallway. As he walked, he smiled. ‘I wonder how much longer we’ll have till they hatch?’ He thought as he rounded a corner and went down another hallway. ‘I know Chrysalis said that it usually takes around four months for them to fully grow. But she’s never had access to such bountiful amounts of pure love, so she’s not quite sure.’

He continued to walk through hallways and go downstairs while pondering over the eggs, before he reached a doorway next to Chrysalis’ bedroom and entered it. The room was very big, with it being painted a gentle gray color. A large black boulder sat on one side of the room, with green resin on the walls and a couple comfy black chairs in the middle. Glowing mushrooms sat on the walls as well, helping to illuminate the room, along with the large crystal light at the top. And resting on the walls and boulder were the gentle green changeling eggs.

All 69 of them.

“Hello everypony!!” He said softly as he walked over to some eggs and gently touched them. “How are you all today?” He continued as he rubbed them a bit, before he moved on to look at some more, a smile on his face. “Everypony good?” he questioned.

As he spoke to the eggs, with a couple twitching every once in a while, he was completely unaware of a pair of moderate cyan eyes sitting in a shadow-covered corner of the room. And said eyes were watching him intently, full of intrigue and lust.

“Now then, Zephyr Breeze is visiting Fluttershy right now,” Twilight said to Chrysalis as they started to walk through the town. “So he should be at her cottage,” She continued, while Chrysalis frowned.

As they walked through the streets, various ponies, hippogriffs, and griffons stared at her, with most looking away after several seconds. Others kept on staring at her, her robe doing the bare minimum to keep her tits contained and attracting their eyes. Chrysalis, of course, did not care in the slightest that she was getting stared at.

Her presence in the town had been a bit difficult for several of the townsfolk, like Lyra and Bon Bon, as they couldn’t help but think that this was all a trick. But many of the others had accepted that she wasn’t tricking them, and had moved on, although her figure did draw their attention at times. A couple had even approached her in friendship, such as the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Cheerilee.

The CMC had been rather interesting to talk to. The three were very happy that Button had a special somepony in his life, although she denied that she felt anything for him, which only made Sweetie Belle smirk. Scootaloo was impressed by her physique, and Applebloom was a bit suspicious at first. But she’d come around after working with her on the farm that one week.

The three often took her out to get treats at Sugarcube Corner, which was not super fun for Chrysalis, as she had to deal with the pony she called “The Pink One.” But they also took her out to just talk, to get to know her better, like what her hobbies were.

Overall, Chrysalis thought they were okay.

“And we’re here!” Twilight said as she teleported them to the front yard of Fluttershy’s cottage, which ever so slightly startled Chrysalis, although she’d never admit to being so. “Now then, let me get Zephyr Breeze, and we’ll go to the school,” She continued as she walked up to the door and knocked on it. “Fluttershy!! It’s me, Twilight!!” She said as she wrapped her knuckles on the door several times.

She had just finished knocking on the door when it swung open, revealing Fluttershy, as well as Angel Bunny, who frowned upon seeing Chrysalis in the distance. “Oh, hey Twilight,” she said in her soft voice. “What brings you here?” She continued.

“I’m here to pick up Zephyr Breeze,” Twilight replied, causing Fluttershy’s eyes to widen a bit.

“Oh!! You got Chrysalis to agree?” She asked her, her voice sounding a bit hopeful.

“Well, somepony did,” Twilight said with a smirk, and Chrysalis immediately looked away blushing and frowning.

“Wonderful!!” Fluttershy replied, perking up a bit. “Oh, thank you Chrysalis!!” She continued as she looked at the changeling queen, who huffed. “We’ve been so worried about Ocellus!!” She said, before she turned around and headed deeper into the home, Angel stayed behind and gave Chrysalis the stink eye. “Zephyr, it’s time to go.”

“Aw, but big sis, I was just about to practice my stylin' on your bear friend here,” A relaxed male voice that sounded slightly whiny at the moment said, causing Chrysalis to start grinding her teeth with annoyance.

“Zephyr!!” Fluttershy said firmly, raising her voice a bit as the sound of items getting thrown into a bag reached their ears. “I told you, don’t practice on my animal friends!!”

“But big sis!! He’s got so much fur!!”

“Zephyr!!” Fluttershy said a bit louder, before they heard her take in and let out a deep breath. “It’s time to go!!” She continued as she walked back to the front door, a frustrated look on her face.

“Alright, I’m coming,” he called out as he walked out of the kitchen with his scissors in hand, along with a small blue bag. “I’m coming,” He continued as he went through the living room and reached the front door, revealing himself to everypony else.

“Hello Zephyr,” Twilight said to the pale grayish aquamarine pegasus stallion, whose body was rather skinny, and his mane was grayish gold and in a large, somewhat messy bun.

“Why hello Princess Twilight,” Zephyr Breeze replied with a smile. “What desire makes you need to get me?” He asked her. “Could it be perhaps a surprise date with Rainbow Dash?”

Twilight rolled her eyes upon hearing that. “No, Zephyr,” she said, causing his face to drop a bit. “I’ve come to get you to see your daughter.”

As soon as she said that, his eyes widened, and his jaw dropped. “M-M-My d-d-d-daughter??” He replied, prompting her to nod. “Y-Y-You’re going t–t-t-to t-t-take me to meet m-m-my daughter?!!”

“Yes,” Twilight said simply. “She recently found out about her parentage, and, well, she’s kind of shut herself in her room for the past few weeks,” She continued, a worried look appearing on her face. “So, I think that she needs to have a talk with her biological parents. Now, before things get any worse.”

“N-N-N-N-Now?!!!” Zephyr exclaimed, his heart racing a bit.

“Yes, now,” She replied.

“Oh buck!! Oh, buck oh buck oh buck!!” Zephyr cursed, much to Fluttershy and Twilight’s surprise. “Oh buck!! I didn’t think we’d meet so soon!!” he continued as he started to panic. “I didn’t think I’d be a father so soon!! I didn’t-”

“Oh, shut the buck up and grow a pair!!” Chrysalis growled at him as she walked forward a bit, catching their attention. “Stop being a bucking pansy!!” She continued, with Fluttershy staring at her with shock, while Zephyr gained a confused look on his face.

“Who are you?” he questioned.

“I’m the bucking mother of our child!!” She growled, before she used her changeling ability to shapeshift into a baby blue pegasus with a long blonde mane and tail, as well as a cutie mark of a flower bouquet. “I was Celeste!!” She continued, her voice becoming sweet and high-pitched for several seconds.

“C-Celeste??” Zephyr said with confusion. “Is that your real name?” He continued, before his mouth was slammed shut with a green magic aura.

“No, you incompetent, pre-ejaculating pansy of a pegasus!!” “Celeste” growled, before the disguise disappeared, revealing Chrysalis in her bathrobe. “I’m Queen Chrysalis!!” She continued. “Now then, don’t talk to me, don't acknowledge me, don’t even think about trying to hit on me, and don’t say anything stupid, or I will hurt you,” Chrysalis threatened as she held his mouth closed with magic. “Got it??!”

Zephyr stared at her with wide eyes for about ten seconds, before he nodded several times.

“Good,” Chrysalis replied, before she turned around and walked away a bit, releasing her magic grip on his mouth as she did so.

“Zephyr,” Fluttershy began as she turned to her baby brother. “You need to behave, and be brave,” She continued. “You’re going to meet your daughter and talk with her. Really think about what you’re going to say before you speak, okay?” She said to him, her body not as full of tension as it was before.

Upon hearing that, Zephyr was snapped out of his staring, before he spoke. “Yes sis,” He replied with a nod, getting the feeling that now was not the time to try to back out. In fact, it felt like there was no place for him to back out at all. “I’ll try.”

“Good,” Fluttershy said with a smile, before she turned to Twilight. “He’s all yours Twilight,” She continued, before she gently pushed him forward. “Good luck!!” She spoke.

“Thanks, Fluttershy!! I’ll let you know how it goes afterwards,” Twilight said, before she lit up her horn with magic.

And then, with a flash of brilliant raspberry light and a gentle “Poof!!”, they teleported away.

“Oh, Zephyr, be careful,” Fluttershy said as she shut the door, before sighing. “Please be careful.”

As their surroundings changed to that of the large main hallway of the school, Zephyr Breeze stumbled, clutching his stomach while an uncomfortable look appeared on his face.

“Ugh!! That was most unpleasant!!” He said as he stood there, before Twilight cast a spell on him. “Thank you, princess,” he said with a grateful smile as he felt his upset stomach settle down. “I feel much better!!”

“Good. Now come on!! Let me show you to Ocellus’ room!!” Twilight said with eagerness, before she started to walk down one of the nearby hallways, prompting her companions to follow her, albeit at a slower pace.

As they walked down the hallway, Chrysalis and Zephyr Breeze had different expressions on their faces. Chrysalis had a frustrated look on hers, while Zephyr had a nervous and worried look on his.

‘This is so not going to go well,’ Chrysalis thought in her head as they rounded a corner. ‘You better not scream!! You better not scream!!’ She started to chant as she looked at Zephyr from the corner of her eyes.

‘I’m going to meet my daughter!! I’m going to meet my daughter!!’ Zephyr thought with shock and some fear. ‘Oh buck!! Oh buck!! Oh buck!!’

The walk through the school was rather quiet, and fortunately for them, school was out, so there were very few students in the school currently.

Twilight soon led them through a large set of doors and into a large common room that had a fireplace in it. Sitting by it, reading a book, was a brilliant gamboge dragoness with light gold ear fronds and orchid spines.

“Hello Smolder,” Twilight said to the dragoness, who’d looked up when the doors had opened. “Anything new with Ocellus?”

“Not a thing, Headmare Twilight,” Smolder replied with a shake of her head, before she looked at Zephyr Breeze and Chrysalis. “So, you two are her actual parents?” She said, arching an eyebrow at them.

“We are,” Chrysalis replied quickly, with Zephyr slowly nodding in agreement.

“Huh,” was all Smolder said in response, before she walked back over to the chair she’d been in earlier and sat back down. She then picked up her book and started looking at it again.

Chrysalis and Zephyr looked at the dragoness for a few seconds, before they heard Twilight clear her throat, prompting them to look at her again. She was standing next to a large teal door with a ladybug on it. She then waved them over, prompting Chrysalis to sigh and head over, with Zephyr gaining a more nervous look and following her.

When they arrived, Twilight turned and knocked on the door a couple times. “Ocellus, it’s Twilight,” She called gently through the door. When there was no response, she continued, “I brought a couple ponies that you should talk with. I’ll let them in now.” She then turned to Zephyr and Chrysalis. “Good luck you two,” She said as she lit up her horn, before a lock clicked on the door, and she pulled it open, revealing the dark interior of the room beyond it.

Chrysalis and Zephyr Breeze stared at the dark room, before Chrysalis let out a long sigh and walked into the room. Zephyr continued to stare at the room for several seconds, before he let out a shaky breath and followed her inside, with Twilight shutting the door behind him and locking it.

“Good luck you two,” Twilight muttered again, while Smolder’s eyes peeked over the top of the book, looking at the door to Ocellus’ room.

Despite what they’d seen from outside, Ocellus’ room was not fully dark. It was in fact a bit illuminated, with said illumination coming from softly glowing fungi in pots that were scattered about the room. With the illumination, they were able to see that thick curtains were drawn over some windows in the back wall. Multiple bookshelves sat on one side, while a large cushion surrounded by some candles sat next to a small bookshelf that held some music on it.

In one corner was a large bed that resembled a bed from the Changeling Kingdom, with it blackish green in color and oval in shape. And in the bed was a somewhat small lump underneath the green blanket.

Chrysalis stared at the lump for several seconds, while Zephyr looked around the room, taking in what he was seeing.

“I must say, this mood lighting really makes this feel all spooky,” he said with a shudder. “Like a haunted ca-Oof!!” He wheezed as he was cut off by an elbow jab to the gut, with Chrysalis glaring at him and holding a finger to her mouth. She then turned her attention to the lump once more, and saw that it had moved away a bit from them.

Chrysalis sighed, before she spoke. “Ocellus,” she said, causing the lump to jump and shake a bit. “Ocellus, we’re not leaving until we talk with you,” She continued as she looked at the nearby door with a frown for a few seconds.

There was no verbal response from the lump on the bed, but there was a physical one. The lump started to shake even more, and it grew a bit smaller.

Chrysalis sighed again. ‘Buck this is hard!!,’ She thought to herself. ‘How do I even start this conversation?’ She continued, while Zephyr spotted a beanbag chair nearby and sat down in it.

Silence filled the room as she stood there, trying to figure out what to say to her daughter, while Zephyr sat in the chair, a nervous look on his face.

“W-W-W-Were you e-e-ever going to t-t-tell me the t-t-t-truth?” Ocellus said from underneath the blanket, her voice very soft and sounding like she’d been crying.

“No,” Chrysalis replied after a few seconds of silence had passed. “Not if I could have helped it,” She continued, making Zephyr gain a surprised look on his face.

“S-S-So, y-y-you d-d-didn’t c-c-c-care a-a-about me,” Ocellus said, her voice getting more emotional, the sounds of sniffling starting to become audible. “I-I-I th-th-thought so!!! Y-Y-Y-You j-j-just t-t-tossed m-me to the s-side like trash!!” The sniffling then turned into loud sobs, with the lump shaking more like a leaf in a hurricane.

Upon hearing that, Chrysalis sighed, and tapped her chin in thought. ‘What do I do now?!!’ She thought, unsure of what to do. She thought and thought for several seconds, before she remembered something. It was some mothering advice Cream Heart had given her a few weeks ago, which was something she regularly did. ‘This better work!’ She continued, before she stepped forward and sat down on the edge of the bed. She then reached a hand out, and gently rested it on top of the lump, causing it to shake violently.

“Ocellus, I…I never meant to abandon you,” she said with a sigh. “It’s just that…I wasn’t exactly proud of who I’d had you with,” She continued as she glared at Zephyr, who gained a hurt look on his face. “Zephyr’s not good father material.”

That made his hurt look somehow increase with pain.

“But-But w-w-why d-d-d-didn’t y-y-you tell m-me you were my m-mom?” Ocellus asked between sobs. “Y-Y-You could h-h-have at least t-t-told me that.”

Chrysalis sighed again, rather heavily this time. “Back then, I was only focused on revenge on the ponies of Equestria,” She admitted. “I wasn’t thinking about my children at all other than getting them to do my bidding so that I could take over Equestria. I wanted everything to go perfectly,” She continued, the memories of her actions at the time running through her mind. “I didn’t realize that, by doing that, I was hurting my hive. My children. And myself,” she said with a sigh. “And then, I lost everything,” she said, her voice getting slightly emotional.

The lump that was Ocellus started to stop shaking at this point, while Zephyr stared at Chrysalis with intrigue and surprise.

“When you all turned against me, I was horribly hurt,” Chrysalis continued. “My own children, betraying me. I had never even imagined that being a possibility.” She then sighed. “And the only way I could think to respond to it was by getting angry and plotting revenge,” she said. “I traveled and hid in the Everfree Forest for months, gathering information and formulating plans. I was filled with revenge to the point that I was losing my mind” She continued, remembering how she’d started talking to a piece of wood as if it was a fellow changeling. “But then it all changed one day.”

At that, Ocellus stopped shaking completely, while Zephyr’s face remained the same.

“I was going into Ponyville one day to take some more photos of the school, when I spotted an Earth Pony at the Arcade,” Chrysalis said, absentmindedly removing her hand from the lump as she spoke. “He was playing some game with some pegasus stallion his age, and the two were getting into it. I didn’t know what it was at the time, but something about him drew my attention,” She continued, smiling a bit as the memory of that day played in her mind. “I started to follow him whenever I saw him in Ponyville. Secretly, of course. I never revealed myself to him. At least, not until three months ago, when I snuck into his room and had a grand time,” she said, her face turning red a bit at the memory of that wonderful night. “He was wonderful!!”

As she thought about that night with a smile, she stiffened suddenly as she realized what she’d been saying about Button. She furiously then shook her head trying to shake her thoughts from him. “Well, um, after meeting Button Mash, I managed to get some stability and really think about what I’d been doing, as well as have deep conversations,” She continued. “And I realized that…that I was wrong about a lot of things,” she said with a heavy sigh, having found it hard to admit she was wrong. “I should have been more loving to you. I shouldn’t have let my obsession with revenge cause me to turn you all against me. I…I…I,” She stammered, finding the next thing rather difficult to say. “I should have been a better mother to you all,” She admitted after ten seconds of stammering, with her voice getting more emotional. “I’m sorry.”

Once those words left her mouth, silence filled the room, while she stared at the bookshelf across from her, memories and various emotions running through her.

The silence continued to fill the room like a stifling presence, before it was broken once more.

“D-D-Do y-y-you mean that?” Ocellus asked as the blanket moved back a bit, before two large moderate cyan changeling eyes appeared, locking onto Chrysalis. “A-A-All of it?”

Chrysalis sighed, and then slowly nodded. “I do,” she said simply, causing Ocellus’ eyes to tear up again as she felt the sincerity and truthfulness pour off her queen-no, her mother.

“Th-Thank you!!” Ocellus replied as she pulled the blanket back some more, revealing her arctic blue head as the lump grew even bigger. “Th-Thank you!! I needed to hear that!!” She continued, tears streaming down her chitinous cheeks as she looked at Chrysalis. She sniffled and sobbed as she stared at her, before she turned her attention to Zephyr as she started to calm down once more. “A-And w-w-what about you?” She asked him. “H-H-How do you feel a-a-about me?”

Zephyr was silent for about ten terrifying seconds, before he spoke. “Well, first off, you are a beautiful changeling,” he said sincerely, surprising her. “And your mane is perfect!! I love the little sparkles in it!!”

“You idiot!!” Chrysalis growled as she put a hand to her eyes, pinching the bridge between them. “That’s not what she meant!!”

“I-I know that!!” Zephyr bravely snapped back, surprising Chrysalis.

‘When the buck did he get some backbone?!!’ She thought with confusion. ‘He never would have done anything like this back when we met.’

“I was just trying to compliment my daughter on her beautiful body,” he replied, causing Ocellus to blush a bit. “Which she got from my family, of course,” He said with a proud smile. “All the mares in my family are pretty and have pretty manes.”

‘There’s that ego of his,’ Chrysalis thought with a sigh and roll of her eyes. ‘A shame he didn’t lose that.’

Zephyr then turned to Ocellus, and sighed. “I gotta be honest, I didn’t think I’d be a father so soon,” He said as he leaned back in the beanbag chair. “It’s rather scary for me,” he continued. “I mean, I’m the baby of my family. I don’t have any experience with kids,” He said, before he looked at Chrysalis. “Unlike the babe that is your mom, who’s had hundreds.”

“Thousands, and don’t flirt with me,” Chrysalis corrected with a small growl.

“It’s not flirting if it’s the truth,” Zephyr said with a smile. “Anyways, I don’t really know how to feel about you,” he admitted. “I don’t know you. I don’t know what your likes and dislikes are, what your hobbies are, and other things.”

Upon hearing this, Ocellus’ ears drooped.

“But, I’d like to get to know those things, if that’s alright with you,” He continued, making her ears perk up a bit.

“R-R-Really? E-E-Even th-th-though y-y-you d-d-d-don’t have to?” Ocellus asked him.

“Um, yeah,” Zephyr replied with a nod. “The old Zephyr didn’t try anything cause he was scared of failing horribly,” He said, before he smiled. “But the new Zephyr’s up for trying new things!!” he continued, striking a proud pose. “And I’d never abandon my daughter,” He said sincerely. “That’s not my style, abandoning family.”

‘Okay, who the buck is this?!’ Chrysalis thought as she stared at Zephyr Breeze with wide eyes. ‘This is not the same pony I slept with all that time ago.’

Ocellus stared at Zephyr with wide eyes, before she started to tear up again and sniffle.

“Hey, hey, don’t cry!!” Zephyr said quickly, worry appearing on his face. “Don’t cry!! Please don’t cryYYY!!!” He yelled as the somewhat small changeling leaped forward and wrapped her arms around him while sobbing.

“Th-Th-Thank you!!” Ocellus cried as she hugged Zephyr, her grip being surprisingly tight for a changeling her size. “Thank you!!” She said again as tears streamed down her face, wetting his shirt.

Chrysalis stared at the situation with wide eyes, while Zephyr stared at Ocellus for several seconds, before he slowly started to wrap his arms around the changeling in a hug. As he did so, he smiled widely.

“You’re w-welcome, Ocellus,” he said as he hugged his daughter.

Chrysalis stared at the sight for several seconds, before she turned away, feeling a blush forming on her cheeks. ‘Ugh!! Why am I finding this to be so sweet?!!’ She thought to herself with some confusion and frustration.

As the three sat there in the room, they were unaware that somepony else was there. Looking at the group from the shadows in a corner of the room were a pair of moderate cyan eyes. They looked from Ocellus to Zephyr, before going to Chrysalis, and they widened a bit upon seeing that Chrysalis was blushing and looking a bit uncomfortable.

“So, how was it?” Twilight asked Chrysalis and Zephyr as they walked away from the dorm common room, while Ocellus sat near Smolder, who was smiling as she spoke with her friend.

“Oh, it was lovely princess!!” Zephyr replied with a wide smile. “I am so glad that I’ve met her!!” He continued.

“Wonderful!!” Twilight said with a large smile. She then turned to Chrysalis. “And for you? Was it as bad as you thought it’d be?”

Chrysalis just stared at her, remaining silent for several seconds, before she huffed and turned away. “It was…okay,” she said. “Not as much screaming as I thought there’d be.”

“Aha!! I told you!!” Twilight said with a grin, sounding somewhat immature. “I told you that talking with her wouldn’t be so bad!!”

“Oh, shut up!!” Chrysalis growled as Twilight looked at her, her grin growing even bigger as she continued to say “I told you!!” like a seven-year-old. “Shut up or else I’ll cocoon you!!” She threatened.

“I told you it was a good idea!!” Twilight said once more, before she giggled and walked ahead of her.

“Uggggggh!”! Chrysalis groaned as she looked at the alicorn, before she put a hand to her head and rubbed the side of it, feeling a headache coming on. “I swear, if she says ‘I told you so’ one more time, I will cocoon her and punt her to the Everfree!!” She growled. “Damn the consequences!!”

Zephyr then spoke up. “Um, Princess Twilight,” He began, catching her attention as they exited the school. “Am I allowed to leave now?? Or am I still needed?” he asked her.

“Oh, you can leave Zephyr,” Twilight said with a smile. “Thank you for coming to meet Ocellus. I know she appreciated it.”

“Oh, thank you Princess for letting me meet her!!” Zephyr replied, before he turned to Chrysalis. “Goodbye Chrysalis, and thank you for making me a dad!!” he continued as he took off into the air. ‘I need a nap,’ He thought as he flew away. ‘And some snacks. Oh!! I should find out what Ocellus likes to eat!! Perhaps I could send her a nice care package!!’ He continued.

‘Okay, seriously, why is he acting so different from when I met him?’ She questioned as she watched the pegasus fly away with a surprised look on her face. ‘It’s freaking me out a bit.’ She stared at the retreating pegasus for a few more seconds, before she looked towards the castle. ‘Perhaps Button or Fluttershy could shed some light on his change,’ She continued as she walked towards the castle with Twilight.

When they got back to the castle, Starlight greeted them in the main hallway.

“Hey Twilight!!” She said with a smile to her teacher. “Hello Chrysalis,” She continued, her smile dropping slightly as Chrysalis rolled her eyes and huffed.

Although Chrysalis had been better behaved while living in the castle, and been learning to be better, she still had a bit of a grudge against Starlight. “What is it, unicorn?” Chrysalis asked the mare. “Why are you here?”

“Well, first off, I live here Chrysalis,” Starlight replied with a sigh, having gotten rather used to this response. “And second, I need to tell Twilight something.”

“Oh, and what would that be?” Twilight asked her student.

“Trixie’s requested my help with a show in Manehatten,” Starlight said. “So, I’ll be gone for a few days to help her out.”

“Oh, well, good luck with that!!” Twilight said to Starlight with an encouraging look. “Did Trixie say if she was going to be doing any new tricks in the show?”

“All she said was that it would be her best one ever!!” Starlight replied with a smile.

“That illusionist says that with everyone she does,” Chrysalis said with a roll of her eyes. “She is so full of herself.”

At that, Starlight and Twilight looked at her with flat looks on their faces. “You of all ponies should not say that,” Twilight replied, with Chrysalis huffing and crossing her arms a bit. “Starlight, I wish you the best of luck. When do you leave?” She asked the unicorn.

“Eheh, right now,” Starlight replied as she levitated over two small suitcases. “Trixie’s leaving in ten minutes.”

“Oh!!” Twilight said with surprise. “Um, well, good luck!!” She continued, prompting Starlight to wave to her as she started to walk towards the front doors.

“Thanks!!” Starlight replied as she reached the doors and pulled it open, before she walked through them with her things.

As the doors shut behind her, Twilight sighed, before she turned to Chrysalis with a large smile. “Well then, how about we talk?” She said, with Chrysalis letting out a groan. “I want you to tell me all about how the conversation with Ocellus went!!” She continued as she summoned a quill, ink pot, and a couple scrolls.

Before Chrysalis could verbally respond, though, a loud “Poof!!” was heard as a light tan scroll appeared before her with a light gold flash of light. “It’s from Princess Celestia!!” Twilight exclaimed as she saw the wax seal on the scroll when she grabbed it. “Oh!! What could she want?” She questioned as she set her writing things to the side and opened the somewhat short scroll, before she started to read it.

“What does that cake-eating fat-ass want now?” Chrysalis asked her as she stood there, before she heard Twilight let out a massive gasp.

“Oh, my goodness!!!” She exclaimed with wide eyes as she reread the scroll for the fifth time. “She needs my help in Saddle Arabia for the week!!” She continued.

“With what?”

“Some sort of magical emergency situation,” Twilight replied, before she started to hurry past Chrysalis. “Doesn’t say any more. Can’t talk now. Gotta pack!! See you in a week!!” She continued, before she teleported away in a flash of light raspberry light.

Chrysalis stood there, staring at the empty hallway for several seconds, before she sighed. “Well, that was good timing,” she said to herself, before she started to walk down the hallway. “I am not in the mood for a long questioning from her,” She continued as she walked, remembering how many questions Twilight had asked about changeling history. She’d asked so many that Chrysalis hadn’t gotten any sleep for an entire two nights during the first round of questions. And Twilight had filled up over 50 large scrolls with information.

She walked through the hallways of the castle for several more minutes, before she reached the guest bedroom, which had the sounds of buttons being pressed coming from it, along with electronic explosions. When she walked into the bedroom, she saw that Button Mash was sitting on the bed, looking at the GameColt in his hands with concentration.

‘He’s probably been playing that thing since we left,’ Chrysalis thought with a silent sigh as she looked at him. ‘I still don’t get what the point of those things are,’ She continued.

Button continued to play on his GameColt for about thirty more seconds, before there was a loud explosion from the game, causing him to sigh. “Dammit!!” He cursed with some frustration. “That damn orc got me!!” He continued as he set the game system down.

“Are you done with your little fantasy game?” she said in annoyance as she lazily rested her shoulder on the side of the doorway where she was standing.

“Oh!! Chrissy!! You’re back!!” Button exclaimed with surprise, jumping a bit at the sound of her voice. He then sat up and looked at her, a curious expression on his face. “So, um, how did the visit go?” He asked her.

“Fine,” Chrysalis said as she stood there, leaving on the doorway as she crossed her arms. “And don’t call me Chrissy!!”

“Chrissy!! Come on!!” Button whined, a somewhat pleading and curious look on his face. “You can tell me!!”

‘By the hive, why does he look cute doing that?’ She thought as she stared at him for several seconds, before she huffed. “I do not wish to speak of the experience,” she said firmly.

“Come on!!” Button said again. “Please!!! I really want to know!!” He continued. “Please??” he asked. “Please??” He repeated.

As she stared at him, her eyes looking into his, she sighed. “Ugh!! Fine!! If it’ll prevent you from getting annoying,” She replied, prompting him to go “Yes!!” while pumping his arm. She rolled her eyes at his reaction, before she started to speak.

She sighed as she spoke of how she and Twilight had gone to Fluttershy’s house to get her brother, who she’d been dreading to see again. And how he was still a big idiot. She spoke of how they’d arrived at the school, and how they’d gone into Ocellus’ room, which she said reminded her of how the Changeling Hive was at night. She spoke of how Ocellus responded to the two of them being there, with her being rather upset. She then begrudgingly mentioned how she’d confessed that how she’d been acting during the time of Ocellus’ birth and hatching was wrong.

She spoke of how she’d admitted that she’d been wrong, and that Ocellus had hugged her, which she admitted to Button was rather surprising. She’d been expecting to be punched. And she spoke of how Zephr had acted rather differently from what she’d known of him, how he’d been accepting of Ocellus, and was wanting to develop a relationship with her. She was very quick to say though, that she would not be dating or sleeping with the pegasus again, as she had no interest in him.

When she finished speaking, Button stared at her for about thirty seconds, silent as could be. “Well, it sounds like it went rather well,” He said with a smile as he looked at her, with her feeling his love pour over her like a gentle river. “Extremely well, actually.”

“Yes, it did,” She replied, sounding a bit frustrated. “And that doesn’t make sense!!” She continued with a loud groan. “She should hate me!! She should want nothing to do with me!!” She growled, raising her hands up with frustration temporarily. “But she doesn’t, and I don’t know why!!”

“Well, maybe she doesn’t hate you cause you’re her mom?” He suggested. “Maybe she wants to get to know you better.”

Chrysalis huffed. “I doubt that,” Chrysalis replied firmly. “She’s grown up and been shown by my traitorous children how I am a monster,” She said. “She knows that I can never ch-”

“You are not a monster, Chrysalis!!” Button growled angrily. “Stop calling yourself one!!” He continued as he got up and walked over to her, giving her a hug. “You’re not a monster.”

Chrysalis looked at Button as he hugged her, and a small smile appeared on her face. “It does not bother me, Button,” She said to him. “I have been called worse.”

“Well, it should bother you,” He replied firmly as he hugged her, looking up at her as he did so. “It bothers me.”

“I know, I know,” Chrysalis said as he continued to hug her. “You’ve made that quite clear over the past few months,” She continued. “But ponies still treat me with mistrust. Those flower ponies scream every time they see me, and that couple at Sugarcube Corner hide their foals whenever I’m brought to that establishment.”

“I know,” Button replied as he looked at her. “But remember what I said the second time we met,” He continued. “‘Time heals all wounds,’” He said with a smile. “They’ll come around to you eventually.”

Upon hearing that, Chrysalis smiled a bit, before she leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. Said action made him stiffen up a bit with surprise, and he started to kiss back with a smile.

The two kissed for several seconds, before she broke it, a small string of saliva connecting their mouths for several seconds.

“Like you did when we met?” She said with a smile, making him blush a bit as he remembered their first meeting.

“W-Well, um, not exactly like our first meeting,” He replied as he let go of her, his cheeks still red. “But they will come around one day,” He continued. “I promise!!”

At that, she smiled. “I’ll hold you to that promise,” She said, before a grin appeared on her face. “But for now, I think you better run home,” She continued. “It’s just going to be me here at the castle for a week, and I have something special planned for you later on tonight,” She said, a sultry look appearing on her face.

“W-W-What??! R-R-really?!” He replied with a surprised look on her face. “What is it?” He asked.

“You’ll see when I allow it,” she told him with a smirk. “Now then, run along!!” She continued, prompting him to nod before he walked past her and out into the hallway.

‘Oh man!! A whole week with Chrysalis?!! I have to tell Mom!!’ He thought as he went down the hallway. ‘I wonder what the special thing is?’

Chrysalis watched as he walked down the hallway, his hoofsteps echoing on the walls. Her smile remained on her face for several seconds, before dropping once he’d rounded the corner and disappeared from sight.

“How long are you going to keep watching me Luna?” Chrysalis said in annoyance as she turned around behind her to see a pair of moderate cyan eyes looking back at her with surprise from the shadows in a corner of the room.

“How did you know where I was?” she asked with curiosity as she materialized from her shadow form into her physical form. She was wearing a grayish blue dress that had two large slits on the sides, letting her thick thighs be visible. The bust of her dress was dark blue, with silver swirls on the front, while a large boob window sat at the top, showing off a decent amount of cleavage. Her shoulders were covered in a dark blue, almost black cloth that connected to the bust of her dress and to a silver collar around her neck. Said collar had heart-shaped sapphires embedded in it, with a silver crescent moon hanging down onto the top of her cleavage. Silver bracelets sat on her wrists, with a silver arm band on her left arm next to her shoulder, another sapphire in it. Her black tiara sat behind her horn but in front of her ears.

“I could feel your presence from back when I visited that silly school,” She added as she gave Luna a dull state. “I can sense your emotions and it was rather irritating with you following me all day. You weren’t exactly subtle.”

“You aren’t exactly subtle with your emotions either Chrysalis,” Luna countered, making Chrysalis flustered. “Why are you so stubborn to put your pride aside for someone who clearly cares for you?”

“Don’t you dare say I’m soft,” she growled, getting a bit angry at the mere suggestion. “I’m still a ruthless changeling!!”

“A changeling that refuses to accept her feelings,” Luna remarked, making Chrysalis let out a small growl in response. “I have seen how you look at him when no pony is looking, and I’ve seen your dreams,” She continued with a small blush, causing Chrysalis to blush a bit while looking at her angrily. “So, again, why will you not put aside your pride and tell him you love him?”

Chrysalis frowned at that, before she leaped forward at Luna. “Shut up!!” She shouted as Luna quickly flew back, causing her to miss. “Shutupshutupshutup!!” She continued to shout as Luna encased her in her magic aura, holding her in place up in the air. “Don’t you dare bring that up!!” She growled angrily as she glared at Luna.

“I was merely stating the truth,” Luna said matter-of-factly as she looked at Chrysalis with a frown.

“Grah!! Shut up!!” Chrysalis growled as she started to struggle, trying to break free of her magic grip by brute force. She flailed her arms and kicked her legs. She flapped her wings and gnashed her teeth.

But nothing worked.

“You’re the mother of all changelings, yet you’re acting like a petulant child when someone points out the truth,” Luna added as she struggled in her magic grasp for several seconds, before she momentarily stopped. “You did it with Thorax when he only wanted to help, you did it with Starlight when she wanted to save you, and you’re doing it with me now when I was simply trying to give you some advice about your feelings.”

Chrysalis glared at her with enough hate and anger that it could have melted pure steel upon hearing that.

“Now then, I’ll set you down once you’ve calmed down, and you are going to listen to me and answer me,” Luna said firmly.

“If it weren’t for the fact that I’m on limited magic right now, I’d break out so easily!!” She yelled as she started to thrash around again in her grip. Luna simply sighed as she sat down in a chair waiting for Chrysalis to end her little temper tantrum.

Chrysalis’ growls and grunts of exertion filled the air as she watched the changeling wiggle around in her magic aura.

‘By the moon!! She is as stubborn as Celestia is with her cake!!’ Luna thought with a roll of her eyes as Chrysalis tried to reach down to grab the foot of the bed, only to let out a loud growl of anger and frustration as Luna moved her higher into the air. ‘When will she give up?’ She questioned.

About fifteen minutes went by, with Chrysalis growling and struggling in her grasp during all those minutes, before the changeling stopped, breathing somewhat heavily as she laid there in the air.

“Well then, are you feeling up to liste-” Luna was cut off as Chrysalis let out a very loud frustrated scream.

“Whywhywhywhywhy?!!!!!” Chrysalis yelled as she laid there in the air, staring at the ceiling with frustration. “Why do I feel this way for that bucking stallion?!! I have slept with thousands of males, and yet he is the one that makes me feel this way for him?!! Why?!! I have no need for this feeling!!” She continued, while Luna stared at her with an arched eyebrow. “And the CMC!! Why do they claim to care about me?!! Why do they try to make me enjoy them?!! Why does that pink pony try to make me laugh every time I see her? Why does Twilight let me help her understand changeling magic? Why do her other friends try to get me involved with them?!!! WHY?!!!!!” She roared, her voice reaching near Royal Canterlot voice levels, while tears started to form in her eyes.

Luna’s arched eyebrow had been joined by its twin at this point as she stared at the former changeling queen, who was now sniffling. The tears in her eyes then started to overflow, and run down the sides of her head. And Luna’s eyes widened upon seeing that. ‘How long has she been keeping all of that inside?’ She thought with surprise as the changeling cried before her.

She had seen Chrysalis express many emotions in the time she and her sister had known of her. She’d seen her be mad, upset, enraged, happy, hungry, cruel, and seductive.

But she, and every other pony and changeling she knew, had never seen her cry.

“A-Are thou afraid?” Luna asked her, her voice sounding rather soft compared to how it’d been earlier.

Chrysalis was rather quiet upon hearing the question, with only her sniffles and sobs being heard in the room. Eventually though, she managed to calm down a bit.

“Yes,” She admitted, her voice sounding deathly quiet. “I am so very scared. Of so much!”

Luna opened her mouth to ask what she meant, but Chrysalis continued on, preventing her from speaking. “I’ve lived for centuries, protecting my hive from you ponies, fearing what you could do to us,” She said. “I made sure every one of my changelings knew how dangerous you were, and that we should not attempt to contact you. When I led the invasion in Canterlot, I had tried to plan for everything. But I failed,” She continued with a frown. “I made so many mistakes with the invasion that I should not have done. And when we’d managed to get back to the hive, I tried to make the perfect plan to conquer Equestria and provide for my hive,” She said, with Luna frowning at the memory of being in that pod.

“But that failed horribly,” Chrysalis said, her voice getting lower and more despondent. “All because Thorax saw what I could not. I banished him when he continued to bring up the idea of peace with you ponies. For how could there be peace when we’d invaded your capital city and ruined a Royal Wedding? I refused to listen to his ideas, for I was afraid. So very afraid,” She repeated. “When he returned with his allies and I lost my hive, I nearly lost my mind. I hid in the wild areas of Equestria, planning revenge on you all for what you had done. And during that time, I started to go insane. I began talking to trees and branches as if they were fellow changelings. I slept with a rock as if it was one of my children. I was lost, and nearing the point of being lost forever,” She said as she laid there in Luna’s magic grasp, her face dropping as she looked at the ceiling.

“But then you met Button Mash,” Luna replied, with Chrysalis nodding. “And he saved you.”

“Yes,” Chrysalis said with a small smile. “He did. He brought me from the edge,” She continued.

“But why do you not willingly accept our help? Our friendship?” Luna asked her. “You sometimes accept Button’s help, but you don’t accept any pony else’s help at all!! You have to almost be threatened at times to accept it. Why?!!”

“Because I know that Button Mash means no harm at all!!” Chrysalis snapped back firmly. “I am not scared of him!!” She continued, before sighing deeply. “I’m so scared of you,” She admitted, her voice starting to shake a bit. “I’m so, so scared of the rest of you. I’m scared Fluttershy might try to sick her animal minions on me. I’m scared Pinkie will try to poison any food she gives me. I’m scared Applejack might try to kick my head off or smash my limbs into paste. I’m scared Rarity will try to strangle me with her fabric or cut my eyes out with gems. I’m scared Rainbow Dash will try to smash me into a pulp with a flying maneuver. I’m scared Twilight Sparkle wil try to torture and kill me for what I’ve done to her,” She continued, her voice really starting to shake, while tears streamed from her eyes. “I don’t sleep very well at night unless Button is around, fearing that she might come at me in the night to take me away to her lab and perform horrible experiments on me. I fear Starlight will try to mind control me or blast me with magic. I fear Spike will try to burn me alive. I fear what you or the other princesses could be planning to do to me. I fear what the rest of Equestria could be planning to do to me,” She said, full on sobbing at this point. “I. AM. TERRIFIED!!” She shouted as tears poured down her cheeks, fear in her eyes.

Luna stared at her for a couple minutes as she cried, eyes wide with shock and some worry. ‘I had no idea,’ She thought as she stared at her. ‘I don’t think anypony knows she’s this scared of us. Not even her old hive,’ She continued, having been informed by Thorax a month ago about how Chrysalis had been a bit fearful of ponies.

But this was more than just “a bit fearful.”

This was extreme.

“P-Perhaps, if thou had listened to Thorax, and learned from him, thou wouldst not be in this position,” Luna replied. “Thou and thy hive wou-”

“You think I don’t know that?!!” Chrysalis roared at her, making Luna’s eyes widen with surprise. “I’ve known about it for a while!!” She growled. “I’ve watched it happen and I just sat there as all of my children just walked away from me!!!” She continued. “And my own selfishness cost me my family!!! How can you possibly live with that?!!!”

Upon hearing that final part, Luna sighed, memories of an old fight appearing in her mind. “Not easily,” She said as she looked down. “You know of who I once was, yes?” She asked Chrysalis.

“Yes, but what does that have to do with anything?!” She spat angrily.

“Nightmare Moon,” Luna began. “Was born out of my own anger and jealousy,” She continued. “I became her when I could no longer stand my sister getting all the adoration of our subjects. All the love and praise was hers, and none of it was mine. None of them adored my night!!” She growled, her voice getting a bit deeper as she frowned at the memories. How ponies would ignore her all the time, and disparage openly how the day was their favorite time of day, not the night. “When I became her, I wanted to make her suffer, and make my subjects see the beauty of my night. But I was defeated by my sister, and sealed in the moon for a thousand years,” She continued. “I lost so much time with my sister, and I can never get it back,” She said as she looked at Chrysalis, a couple tears starting to drip from her eyes and down her cheeks.

“Pah!! I do not want pity!!” Chrysalis hissed at her with a frown.

“It’s not pity if you show genuine empathy,” Luna added as she walked over to Chrysalis, who laid there in her magic grasp. She then opened her arms and wrapped them around Chrysalis in a gentle hug.

“What are you doing?!!” Chrysalis hissed with confusion and shock as she laid there, eyes wide and staring at her.

“Showing you that there’s nothing to be afraid of,” Luna followed up, still keeping Chrysalis in her warm embrace.

“You could be trying to crush me with your strength!!” Chrysalis replied with worry.

“I am not,” Luna answered her as she continued the hug. “I’m not even squeezing you!!”

“You could be trying to get me to lower my guard and then rip off my head!!”

“My hands are nowhere close to your head!!”

“W-W-Well, you might be trying to…trying to,” Chrysalis stammered as she struggled to come up with an excuse as to why Luna had her arms wrapped around her. Any excuse besides what the princess of the night had said she was doing.

But after a couple minutes, she was unable to think of another excuse, and she started to sniffle again. “Y-Y-Y-You’re s-serious?” Chrysalis said to Luna, her voice trembling a bit. “Th-This isn’t a trick to get revenge?”

“Not at all,” Luna said as she looked at Chrysalis with a sincere look on her face.

Chrysalis continued to sniffle upon hearing that, with tears streaming down her cheeks again. She could feel the sincerity of Luna’s emotions pouring off her. “Th-Th-Thank you!! Thank you!!” She said as she laid there in her magic, while Luna continued to hug her. “Thank you!!” She said again, her voice full of emotion.

She continued to cry and sniffle for the duration of the long hug, which Luna eventually broke after about fifteen minutes had passed. She only started to calm down again when Luna removed her magic from her, and she stood there, wiping her eyes and rubbing her snotty nose. “Y-You tell anypony I was c-c-crying, and I’ll s-scratch out your e-eyes,” Chrysalis said to her as she sniffed.

“I’ll try not to, for your sake,” Luna began. “But you will have to confront your fears eventually.”

“Wh-whatever…”

“How about I prepare us some tea?” Luna asked, holding out her hand.

“I guess that would be nice,” Chrysalis replied, before she slowly took the offered hand.

“Now then, do you have a favorite kind of tea?” Luna asked her as she looked in the tea cabinet in the castle kitchen. “Or do you not have a preference?”

“What’s left?” Chrysalis asked as she sat at the nearby counter, her head resting on her hand.

“Hmmm, well, there’s licorice tea, black tea, dandelion tea, and green tea,” Luna replied as she looked at the various boxes in the cabinet.

“I’ll take the licorice,” Chrysalis said, prompting Luna to levitate out a dark green box, along with a gentle yellowish gold box.

“Excellent choice,” Luna replied as she closed the cabinet and grabbed two large tea cups, before she started to work on making the tea.

A kettle was filled and heated up with a spell, before the now-hot water was poured into the cups. Luna then added the tea to the cups, and steeped it quickly with another spell, before she removed the wet tea leaves and tossed them in the trash. “Now then, let’s have some tea,” She said as she put up the boxes and carried the two cups of tea over to Chrysalis, before she sat down next to her.

“Enjoy,” She said as she set the licorice tea in front of Chrysalis, before she blew on her cup of dandelion tea gently. She then took a sip of her cup, and sighed happily at the taste.

“So, other than the whole moon banishing thing, what did you do when you got back after being… reformed?” Chrysalis asked her as she picked up her own cup and sniffed it, before taking a tiny sip. ‘Hmm, not bad,’ She thought as she took another sip. ‘Not bad at all.’

“Adapt to the entirely different culture,” Luna replied with a sigh, sounding slightly frustrated. “So much has changed. And I don’t understand it all!!” She continued.

“Guess you were of a different time entirely,” Chrysalis added jokingly, causing Luna to look at her with a frown. “Sorry, bad joke…”

“Indeed,” Luna said, before she took another sip of tea. “But yes,” She continued. “That is mostly why I have struggled to adapt to modern times.”

“There were times where I wanted to pose as you, but I had to be near Celestia and I can’t exactly move a celestial body,” Chrysalis added. “Not to mention, you were rather secretive.”

“You wanted to pose as me?” Luna said with surprise as she turned to look at her. “Why?”

“Did you forget who I was at the time?” Chrysalis said with a dull stare. “That was back then when I was trying to find weaknesses after my last defeat. Speaking of which, are you a heavy sleeper or something?”

“What do you mean?”

“You slept through the invasion I planned from what I’ve heard from the others,” Chrysalis added. “You didn’t even realize what was happening until later.”

“Oh, yes, well, I had a very rough night in the dream realm before the wedding,” Luna replied. “There were several nightmares that I had to deal with, most of them dealing with a new video game that had come out around that time. Something called FNAF or FNAP, or something similar."

“And that tired you out that much?” Chrysalis asked her with an arched eyebrow.

“Yes,” Luna replied firmly as she looked at Chrysalis. “Do not underestimate how difficult strong nightmares can be to defeat.”

“Can’t be that hard,” Chrysalis said casually, shrugging as she drank more tea.

“Hmph!! Celestia used to think the same thing,” Luna replied with a smirk, before she chuckled. “But then Starlight Glimmer switched our cutie marks for a day over four months ago, and she got to have a taste of my duties.”

“She did what?!!” Chrysalis said with surprise. “I thought pony cutie marks were permanent, unable to be changed!!”

“For the most part, they are,” Luna replied as she took another sip. “But with certain magics and spells, as well as talent, they can be affected,” she continued. “Starlight is one such talented individual.”

Chrysalis gulped upon hearing that. ‘By the hive!!’ She thought with wide eyes, body shaking a bit. ‘She is more powerful than I thought!!’

“Starlight used her magic to switch our marks so that we could learn to appreciate each other better,” Luna continued, missing the panicked look on Chrysalis’ face. “That day was…interesting for the both of us,” She said, chuckling a bit at the memory of that day. “We both found that we’d underestimated what the other sibling’s duties were like. And at the end of it all, we gained a new understanding of each other, and grew closer.”

“I-I see,” Chrysalis replied, voice shaking slightly as she drank her tea. “So, the nightmares are rather difficult to deal with,” She continued, before she gained a smirk. “How about wet dreams?”

Luna’s eyes widened a bit upon hearing that question, with her nearly choking on her tea. “You’d be surprised by how often those happen,” Luna said, face getting a slight blush to it.

“I’m guessing by your reaction that they happen a lot,” Chrysalis replied, before her smirk widened a bit. “Let me guess, most of them have your cake-eating sister in them.”

“Some do, yes,” Luna said with a hint of a frown on her face as she set her teacup down. “Some are of their loved ones, and others are more…extreme,” She continued with a shudder.

“I see,” Chrysalis replied, having an idea of what some of the things could have been in those extreme wet dreams thanks to her former hive and infiltration of Canterlot. “So, none of them involved you?” She asked with a curious tone in her voice. “The beautiful mare of the night.”

Upon hearing that, Luna shook her head. “No, none of them do,” She said firmly. “They dream of the other princesses, but not of me.”

“Hmmmm,” Chrysalis hummed as she stared at her intently. “I doubt that,” She continued with a shake of her head, smirking as well. “There has to be at least one pony that has wet dreams about you,” She said as her smirk grew.

“There are none,” Luna replied firmly as she gently glared at Chrysalis.

“Doubtful,” Chrysalis said with a roll of her eyes as she took another sip of tea while watching Luna, who went to pick up her cup of tea.

As Luna picked up the cup and put it to her lips, Chrysalis continued speaking. “So, do you have wet dreams about anypony?” She asked, causing Luna to blow a bit into her tea, sending some of it out onto the counter.

“I-I-I-I-I do not!!” Luna replied firmly with a frown as she looked back at Chrysalis, who was smiling at her reaction. “I am much too busy and old for that!!”

“Oh, you’re never too old for a wet dream,” Chrysalis said with a smile that was growing bigger and bigger, showing off her fangs. “And I think you’ve been having a lot of them lately,” She continued as her eyes flashed a little.

“Do not read my emotions!!” Luna shouted with a blush. “That is an invasion of privacy!!”

“Too laaaaate!!” Chrysalis said in a sing-song tone. “I’ve already read them!! And I know who they’re about!!” She continued, her smile turning into a massive shit-eating grin. “My mate Button Mash!!” She hissed.

“N-No!! Th-Th-That is not w-w-who my dreams are a-a-a-about!!” Luna stammered with embarrassment, her cheeks heating up a bit more. “H-H-He is not in th-them!!!”

“You’re lyyyyiiiing!!” Chrysalis said knowingly. “I saw how you looked at him when you first found me at the castle,” She continued, causing Luna’s eyes to widen with shock. “You wanted to get to know him,” She said, before she giggled a bit. “And you’ve been popping up secretly in Ponville to watch him ever since!! Cause you got a crush on him!!” She continued as she leaned closer to Luna, who was as still as a statue and rather red-faced.

“Come on,” She said as she got closer to Luna, her grin staying on her face. “Admit it!!”

Luna was stony silent for several seconds as she sat there, eyes wide and cheeks burning red.

Then, she spoke. “I-I-I-I do have f-f-feelings for B-B-Button,” She stammered, causing Chrysalis to cackle with glee. “S-S-Silence!! This is no l-l-laughing matter!!” She snapped at Chrysalis.

“Oh, on the contrary!! This is a perfect time to laugh!!” Chrysalis replied as she laughed. “You, the fearsome princess of the night, have fallen in love with Button Mash, a mere gaming Earth Pony!! You’re complete opposites!!” She continued.

“You let him impregnate you when you didn’t understand your feelings,” Luna replied with a flat look appearing on her face.

“Well call it payback for making me cry and admit mine earlier,” Chrysalis added. “Now spill, what made you like him so much?”

“W-W-Well, I came across his gaming stream one night,” Luna began as she thought back to that far-off night. “And I started to watch him, as he was one of the cleaner streamers I’d seen. I kept my identity a secret, as I did not want him to change how he played or acted. I wanted him to be himself, and not put on a mask like all our subjects do when around us,” She continued. “As I watched him, I found myself being drawn to his unique personality. He was lonely, like me.”

“Mmm, so you were drawn to him because you both were lonely?” Chrysalis asked, with Luna nodding. “Huh. Interesting,” She continued. “So there was nothing else?”

“Not at first,” Luna admitted. “But as time drew on and I watched him more and more, other aspects of his drew to me as well. His love of his single mother, his patience with extremely difficult games, and his loyalty to his friends,” She continued, remembering how she’d seen and heard examples of those things in his streams. “Eventually, I wanted to meet him face to face, but I wasn’t sure how to do it. I couldn’t just arrive at his house and ask to come in. That would be too much!!”

“You know, this is making you sound like a bit of a hypocrite,” Chrysalis replied, making Luna arch an eyebrow at her. “You asked me to be more open with others about my feelings, yet you’re doing the exact opposite with your feelings towards Button,” She continued.

“...Yes, I guess it is hypocritical,” Luna replied after a few seconds of silence. “But I do not have much experience with approaching a potential partner in these modern times.”

“Oh, so the younger sister of the solar princess is a virgin in bed with no experience with the opposite sex?” Chrysalis asked teasingly, causing Luna to blush a bit more and look away while crossing her arms. “Oh, how hilarious!!” She continued with a giggle.

“Well excuse me for having to deal with horny stallions and mares with dreams where I have no time to myself for that kind of thing,” Luna said with some frustration. “And I was going to invite him to a hotel to play some games together, but youuuu had to come along and ruin my plans!!” She continued as she looked back at Chrysalis with a frown. “I was finally going to have a chance to make a move on a stallion I liked, and you ruined it!!”

“You had that bottled up this whole time and you were still willing to befriend me?” Chrysalis said with surprise and confusion as she stared at the somewhat upset alicorn.

“Well excuuuuse me,” Luna said in annoyance. “Given your reputation, I first thought he was under a spell, but as I said, the more he was closer to you, the more you changed,” she added with a huff.

“Ah, well, he is a bit naive, especially when we first met,” Chrysalis replied with a smile. “But he’s gotten better. And at least I’ve gotten to know him up close and personal rather than hiding behind a screen.”

“It’s not easy to get back out there in the public eye after being away for so long!” Luna fired back in frustration. “I cannot just walk up to him and ask him to hang out for the day.”

“Sure you could!!” Chrysalis replied with a smile. “I’d be there, watching you stammer and stumble over your words like a little filly!!” She continued, her smile turning into an eager grin as she looked at Luna.

“I would not stammer!!” Luna snapped, crossing her arms as she spoke.

“Prove it then,” Chrysalis added with a smirk. “I actually have something planned for the little stud, and maybe you could help me with some illusion magic involving a pair of old games he played.”

Luna arched an eyebrow at her. “What do you have in mind?” She asked, causing Chrysalis’ smirk to grow even larger.

“You’ll see tonight.”

Author's Note

Sorry it took so long, but this is Part one to the bonus chapter I have planned with my friend for this idea that he wanted to see. We had it done for awhile, but I wanted to try and fine tune a few things before we work on part 2. This'll be the kinky one since it involves some spectral illusions, and Button will be quite the busy pony later.
