Sunburst sighed, he wouldn't be able to delay his mother forever, he just wished he didn't have to delay her at all. Sunburst said "Actually mom... would you mind if I took a look at your plans after I at least go to my room and unpack?"
Stellar Flare went "Alright, just be quick! We haven't got all day and there's a lot of plans that I need you to take a look at!" Sunburst grumbled and walked up the stairs to his old room, dropping his luggage bags to the floor, his mom could never just let him have a normal visit, convinced that she had the perfect life all figured out for him. Chances were that his mother allowing him to unpack was probably going to be the only bit of spare time he could get, might as well try out the new spell he had been crafting.
Sunburst was knowledgeable, that much was certain, it was why he had managed to find common ground with Princess Twilight because she knew about things that most other ponies didn't, so he could actually have intellectual talks with her. However, there was one thing he didn't understand, it was beyond his reach and he was hoping the spell he had created would help him attain what was previously thought to be impossible! Something so complex and intricate that even Starswirl the bearded himself had never achieved such a feat! No stallion, nor indeed any male of any species in Equestria, had even come close but this spell would change all that!
Sunburst just didn't understand mares.
Mares were difficult to say the least, they were on a completely different wavelength from stallions and the wavelength was so different that it just left stallions bewildered most of the time, which made it also very unfair that mares knew how to deal with stallions so easily, like they were simple creatures that could be treated almost like a pet if the mood so took them. After studying a variety of spells, both old and new, Sunburst was convinced that the spell he had poured hours into and measured out perfectly down to the last tiny detail, would become the spell that bridged the gap and make stallions more in tune with mares.
Sunburst levitated some chalk and drew a large sigil on the floor, a large circle with another smaller circle where Sunburst would stand and in the space between the large circle and the smaller circle would be eight even smaller circles, each with a different symbol that had long been associated with mares. The moon, the venus symbol, the Nǚ character, an elephant, a sheela na gig, a lotus flower, an ichthys and the triple goddess symbol.
Sunburst confidently stood in the center circle before channeling his magic into the markings he had made on the floor. The outer circle glowed brighter and brighter until it basically shone with magical energy, one by one, the circles with the symbols adopted the same glow until finally the circle Sunburst was stood in did the same. The spell was cast and Sunburst felt magic ripple through his body in a rather uncomfortable manner, once completed, he powered down his horn and looked down to see that the chalk drawings were still there but extremely faded, not uncommon for spells that required magical words or pictures. Sunburst stood there for a moment... he didn't really feel any different and he certainly hadn't gained any knowledge, the spell hadn't exactly failed, he'd followed every instruction down to the letter... what happened?
Sunburst didn't get time to ponder what was going on before he felt a searing pain erupt all over his body, he went silent and still from shock, grunting as he thudded to the floor. Sunburst's whole body shook and despite the immense pain, he restrained himself from yelling out in anguish in case his mother came to see what was happening, he knew that he wasn't dying and assumed that it was possible that the amount of pain he was in may have been part of the process of suddenly gaining knowledge the non-traditional way. Muscles tensed and relaxed, bones broke and re-fused, Sunburst was still reeling so much from the pain that he hadn't noticed the fact that his physical appearance was shifting.
His muzzle became smaller and more rounded with fuller lips, long eyelashes developed on his eyelids, his hair and skin become slightly softer and smoother, his thighs and hindquarters gained a layer of fat that made him decently plump, a hefty pair of breasts appeared on his chest, his genitals shriveled away only to be replaced with a fully operational set of female sex organs, his larynx became somewhat smaller, his hips got wider, his height decreased slightly and to top it all off... his goatee fell from his chin and fluttered to the floor. A second later, he heard footsteps as his mother bounded up the stairs and going "Sunburst? Are you alright? I heard a loud thud come from your room! Is everything OK?" Sunburst didn't have time to come up with an excuse to stop her from investigating before she burst into the room, though her reaction wasn't at all what he expected. Stellar Flare just looked at him in a mixture of puzzled and horrified as she went "Sunburst... honey, what in the world has happened to you?!"
Sunburst raising an eye brow and went "What do you- Ah!" Sunburst clamped a hand to his mouth, the voice he responded with wasn't his voice, it was far too feminine, not that he had a very masculine voice to begin with but he at least had a male voice, the voice that left him was definitely female. Sunburst finally took notice of his own body, the wider hips, lack of facial hair plus the much more obvious presence of a very nice bust and the very obvious lack of his male genitalia where a pussy now resided. Sunburst pouted and said "I didn't do it on purpose mom! I was trying to cast a spell I made to try and understand how the mind of a mare works and it backfired!"
Stellar Flare sighed and went "Honey... as a mare, let me tell you right now... there is no spell that anyone could ever create to make stallions understand mares on that kind of level, I doubt even Discord could pull off a stunt like that. What's even worse is that this ruins all of the plans I had for you! I'm going to have to come up with something else now that I've got a daughter instead of a son!"
Sunburst groaned and said "Please mom, no more plans! I've had it with the plans already! Besides, all I need is a couple of weeks and I might be able to reverse the effects"
Stellar Flare ignored him and going "Now then, can't very well call you "Sunburst" anymore, that's a boy's name... now let's see, Sunshine? Sundrop? Ooh, no I've got it! Sunbeam! Yes, that's a perfect name for a young mare to have!"
Sunburst protested "Mom! Will you quit it!? I don't wanna follow any of your dumb plans!"
Stellar glared at her daughter and said "Don't take that tone of voice with me young lady! I make plans for you because I want you to be successful Sunbeam! Do you think I want to see my only daughter waste her life? I won't have it! Time for a new plan!"
Sunbeam scoffed and went "Oh yeah? Well what makes you so sure that I'll go along with it mom? You can't force me to do it, I'm a strong and independent mare who... wait, what the fuck am I talking about?! I'm a stallion! Or at least I was... damn it!"
While Sunbeam was struggling to comprehend how quickly she had taken to identifying as a mare, Stellar Flare whispered "Oh you'll comply, I've worked too hard to raise you and not even this is gonna ruin my plans for your future! I'm sorry Sunbeam but you're too independent for your own good, I suppose I should just consider it lucky that your friend Starlight told me about her handy-dandy enslavement spell..."
Sunbeam didn't even notice her mother lighting her horn before she was suddenly zapped with magic, Stellar Flare had indeed cast Starlight's spell but she wasn't quite as skilled as Starlight, meaning that the effects of the spell were somewhat dampened. Stellar Flare knew her version of the spell wouldn't be quite as powerful but she didn't need it to be, she wanted her daughter to be self aware and independent to a certain degree but still obey if her doting mother gave the word. Stellar Flare cleared her throat and said "Sunbeam, can you hear me?"
Sunbeam shook herself awake from the sudden magic attack and went "Yeah mom, of course I can hear you! Did you need me for something?"
Stellar grinned, already her plan was being executed perfectly, she said "Yes dearest, I have a plan for your future and I want you to follow it to the letter! No talking back, understood? In fact, don't actually talk at all, I just know that you're bound to protest or interrupt even with me telling you what to do, so no more talking, capiche?" Sunbeam rolled her eyes and nodded, reluctantly agreeing not to utter a single syllable or even make a sound. Stellar went "Excellent, now pack your bags sweetie, we're moving, I've lived in Sire's Hollow all my life and I can tell you that mares in this town are nowhere near even a quarter of the way as successful as mares who grow up in big cities, so step one of our plan is to move to the biggest of the big cities, Manehattan!"

Sunbeam looked at her mother with a raised eyebrow, what was wrong with her figure?

Mondays began with cornflakes for breakfast with a glass of orange juice, lunch was cous cous with an ice tea and dinner was a pesto pasta bake with a glass of red wine. Permitted snacks were apples.
Tuesdays began with a simple omelette for breakfast with a glass of apple juice, lunch was tomato soup with buttered bread and a glass of skimmed milk and dinner was a vegetarian pizza with a glass of white wine. Permitted snacks were oranges.
Wednesday was when it got slightly more challenging, breakfast was a corn on the cob with a glass of mango juice, lunch was avocado on toast with a cup of tea and dinner was just a large salad with a glass of lemon & lime flavored water. Permitted snacks were grapes.
Thursday's breakfast was a sandwich that contained nothing but tomato and lettuce alongside a glass of beetroot juice, Stellar Flare clearly hadn't got the memo that a sandwich needed a focal ingredient of a meat or a cheese, she had basically given Sunbeam a BLT without the B! Lunch wasn't much better, nettle soup with two bread sticks and a glass of grape juice, with the day finishing off with a dinner that was simply a bowl of rice with various vegetables in it washed down with a glass of champagne. Permitted snacks were carrots.
Friday was equally abysmal, a breakfast of buttered toast with a glass of some raw eggs that had been through the blender, lunch was a fillet of salmon with a glass of lemon & lime juice while dinner was yet another salad to be washed down with a glass of tomato juice. Permitted snacks were pears.
Saturday went way too overboard, breakfast was a crust of bread with a glass of mineral water, lunch was a single apple with a glass of apple juice and dinner was porridge with a glass of pineapple juice. No snacks.
Sunday was the worst of all because there was no food structure, the main reason for that was because on Sundays, Sunbeam didn't eat any food. She drank plain water out of necessity but there was no breakfast, no lunch, no dinner and no snacks.
Once Stellar had gotten Sunbeam into that weekly routine, that's when she implemented the exercise, it started off that every day Sunbeam had to jog for three hours, once she had lost a significant amount of weight, Stellar dialed back the exercise to a one hour jog and allowed the diet to make way for the occasional naughty treat for being so healthy. It took four and half months but soon the transformation was complete, a flat stomach, a slightly smaller chest, a tight pair of buttocks and the rest of her was as skinny as possible. Sunbeam had been going along with things thus far, mostly because moving to Manehattan and losing weight weren't things that bothered what little of Sunburst still remained in her mind, wearing mare's clothing however? That was something the Sunburst part of her mind would certainly be fighting, Sunbeam had felt uncomfortable going to the boutique and felt even more uneasy as she went in while her mother flitted about picking out clothes for her, thing's only came to a head when she and her mother went into the changing rooms.

Stellar frowned and said "What do you mean "no" honey? You're supposed to be following my plan so that you can make something of yourself in the big city, it's not a negotiation, you're a mare now and these are the kind of clothes that you need to wear, now strip!" Sunbeam stood her ground and just crossed her arms with a scowl on her face, clearly intent on not continuing with her mother's ridiculous strategy that was supposedly going to ensure a happy and financially secure future. Stellar realized that she was going to have to employ a slightly more aggressive tactic if she was going to get Sunbeam to comply once again and get with the program, which is why she, without warning, tugged Sunbeam's jeans down along with the boxers underneath and then turned her around to push her up against the wall. First to go on was a white long-sleeved crop top, which was tricky because Stellar had to magically manipulate Sunbeam's arms into the sleeves without being able to see them, Sunbeam didn't recoil but didn't fully relax either, seemingly still struggling against her Sunburst half. Stellar levitated over a black skirt, having to also physically force Sunbeam to step into the skirt so that she could slide it up her legs before securing the skirt in place with a belt, Sunbeam wasn't tensing up anymore and looked somewhat calmer. To finish off, Stellar put some white socks on her daughter's feet before putting on some black heels and saying "Voila! Nothing too overly complicated, wasn't so hard was it? Stellar smiled in approval before going "Looks like your mother was right again huh honey? That's just the beginning my dear, now that you've got the basics done, it's time to accessorize!" After buying the clothes, Stellar dragged Sunbeam to the nearest store to add some dazzle to her daughter's look before they headed to the salon to complete the transformation. Heading for the jewelry department first, Stellar went "OK honey, we don't wanna go too overboard with these things, the clothes draw attention to your body so we'll need to go for some items that draw attention to your pretty face as well"
They decided to look at earrings first, Sunbeam pointed to some standard gold hoop earrings, to which Stellar went "No no no, those are the most boring earrings available on the market, you need to stand out! Pick something that has some sparkle to it!" Sunbeam kept looking and then pointed to some silver earrings that had a single teardrop shaped blue jewel on each, Stellar again said "Good effort but silver doesn't work with your color palette dear, nor does blue for that matter... maybe you should leave the choices up to me for now, shall we?" Sunbeam rolled her eyes and accepted that her look was going to be defined by her mother, though considering how much she loved the clothes she was wearing, that wasn't necessarily a negative thing, which was only confirmed when Stellar excitedly went "Aha! Those earrings are perfect!"
Sunbeam couldn't help but agree when she saw the earrings that her mother had picked out, gold heart shaped earrings with a fiery pink jewel of the same shape in the center, very fetching indeed. Sunbeam, having never had her ears pierced, tried on the "clip-on version" of the earrings and looked at herself in a mirror, smiling as she looked at them from every angle and saw only perfection. Stellar said "Alright! Now we need an equally beautiful necklace to really frame your features, so go have a look at what you want!"
Sunbeam shook her head in disagreement and pointed at her mother, Stellar got the message and said "Oh, you want to go along with what I think?" Stellar's heart soared as Sunbeam simply smiled and nodded. Stellar scampered off to look through all the necklaces while Sunbeam continued to admire her own reflection, only to return seconds later holding what she believed was the ideal necklace for her daughter to wear that would really offset the earrings perfectly. A gold necklace with a decently sizable square cut ruby was placed on Sunbeam's neck, although Sunbeam wasn't terribly well-informed when it came to fashion, she had to admit that the necklace did add a little something that made it all the more breathtaking, not to mention that the feel of the earrings and necklace just felt right on her... because It was her, that beautiful woman she saw in the mirror was the Sunbeam she felt like.
However, her mother still felt like something was missing as she stared at her daughter, pondering what it was that was ruining the perfect look... then it hit her, glasses. Stellar swiped the glasses off of Sunbeam's face and said "Darling, these glasses are not doing you any good in the looks department, you're probably so used to wearing them you don't even notice and to be honest, I didn't notice! The glasses made the jewelry work but they just didn't match, now your face looks too empty! We need to find you some more fashionable glasses, thank goodness that they are only cosmetic"
Sunbeam didn't know how her mother knew that the glasses were purely a look thing but just shrugged as her mother went away to find a pair that were more suitable, only seconds passed when Stellar returned with some feminine looking sunglasses and slipped them onto her daughter's face. Sunbeam blinked rapidly, the sunglasses had really hindered her view and so she raised them so that they rested on her head so that she could simply pull them down over her eyes if she needed to. Stellar looked at her daughter, proud of her handiwork at making Sunbeam look absolutely gorgeous! All that was needed now was the most practical yet still fashionable item any woman could have on their person - a purse. The purse was probably the easiest item to acquire, purses didn't come in many shapes and sizes, they were mainly a myriad of patters and colors, so Stellar got her a plain white purse to match the outfit.
They were about to leave the shop when Stellar noticed something and went "Well, look at that Sunbeam! I can't believe I forgot!" Sunbeam, stopped as she noticed her mother dart over to a perfume counter, swiftly sniffing a variety of smells before purchasing a small bottle of perfume called "Bright Essence" and immediately squirting it all over Sunbeam's neck to a point of almost soaking her in the stuff. Stellar went "OK sweetie! You've got the clothes, you've got the accessories, now for the final step in making you look as fabulous as possible, hair and make-up! To the salon!" Once again, Sunbeam was, without complaint, being dragged off to the next location in Manehattan they had to visit so that she could perfect what her mother thought was the ideal look that would land her a modelling job in the big city. Upon reaching the salon, Sunbeam briefly removed her earrings, necklace and sunglasses from her head and put the items in her purse, she could tell that she'd need to have her head entirely bare so that nothing was obstructing her features or blocking the stylists from giving her the ultimate make-over.
The head stylist smiled and said "Welcome ladies! How can I be of assistance today?"
Stellar returned the smile and replied "This here is my daughter, Sunbeam, she is hoping to get a career in modelling so she needs to look her absolute best! I wouldn't call myself an expert but I think just the right hairstyle and make-up would do the trick!"
The stylist nodded in understanding and went "No problem! I promise that by the time we are done with her she'll be ready for the catwalk! If she could just pop herself down on this chair, then we can get started!" The second that Sunbeam sat down, a big gown was thrown over her that covered her whole body from the neck down as the stylist spun the chair around and coerced her into leaning her head back into the sink to get her hair washed. Warm soapy water soaked Sunbeam's scalp as the stylist used all manner of hair care products to make her hair as smooth, sleek and shiny as possible, really bringing out the natural color of it while periodically brushing it to make sure all the knots and kinks in her hair were dealt with. Next, they got Sunbeam sat upright again as they, literally, went through her hair with a fine-toothed comb and started using some of the smallest scissors Sunbeam had ever seen to even out the length of her hair, snipping away little bits here and there, trimming it just so that it was a little neater than before.
The stylist brought out the hair dryer and quickly gave Sunbeam's hair a once-over so that it wasn't soaking wet but remained damp and malleable. The stylist worked some mousse into Sunbeam's hair to give it more volume and then used the tiniest amount of styling gel as possible before placing a ludicrous amount of curlers in her hair, after a quick dousing in some hairspray just to ensure it remained stiff when the curlers came off, the hair dryer came out once again to make Sunbeam's hair bone dry without becoming brittle. The curlers were removed and almost like magic, Sunbeam had a beautiful head of hair, curly but in a way that showed an elegant beauty whilst also hinting a cutesy and maybe an even slightly seductive side.
Stellar marveled at her daughter's hair and said "Oh my goodness, I doubt a unicorn could have done a better job! It's perfect! Please proceed with the make-up, I'm dying to see the full look after the wonders you've done for her hair!" The stylist smiled and grabbed one or two items from a make-up drawer, ready to add the final finishing touches that would really make Sunbeam look as fabulous as possible. The stylist dabbed a large circular brush into a shallow tub of blue powder and, after delicately getting Sunbeam to close her eyes, began to give long soft strokes across her eyelids, the brush seemed to glide across her skin, the eye shadow seamlessly fading out near the end of the strokes until both eyes were left with a deliciously dark shade of eye shadow to created a perfect contrast and brought out the shine of her eyes.

To compliment her high heels, Sunbeam decided to get some golden cuff arm bracelets, then to complete the "fiery" look of her ensemble, she decided to get a white fur boa, an unorthodox choice but it was at least an accessory that showed off a substantial amount of wealth if anything. To draw attention to her face, Sunbeam went for some diamond earrings that were, rather ironically, diamond shaped and the stereotypical "I've got money" accessory, a pearl necklace. Sunbeam looked at herself in the mirror and while she thought the outfit looked good, her arms still looked too bare and she needed a couple of things that were darker to create some contrast, salvation came in the form of a pair of black evening gloves and an equally pitch black purse. Stellar, while shocked by her daughter's rather "out there" and bizarre style choices, respected the fact that Sunbeam probably knew better than her what Fancy Pants would find attractive. After Sunbeam bought every accessory she had picked out along with some new perfume called "Dark Essence", they left for the salon.
When they entered the salon, the same woman who had done Sunbeam's hair before smiled and said "Sunbeam! Glad to see you're back! Ordinarily we prefer that people book an appointment to have their hair done but there are two situations in which we make an exception, first-timers and celebrities! I'd say that you're famous enough a model to be given whatever treatment you want straight away! How can I help?"
Stellar smiled and said "You're too kind! I think my daughter would agree that she wants her hair to be curly and straight at the same time, do you know what I mean? Her hair should be sort of "wavy" if you catch my drift"
The stylist nodded and went "Understood, any make-up this time around?"
Stellar shook her head before going "Not necessary... although I think we might as well purchase a different color of eye shadow, purple perhaps?"
The stylist grinned and went "No problem! Now Sunbeam, if you could just sit in the chair, I'll get to work on crafting a fabulous new hairstyle for you! Thanks in advance for not wearing whatever fancy new clothes you have in that bag there, it will make the whole process a lot quicker and easier!" Sunbeam relaxed as the stylist maneuvered her around so that she could wash her hair once again, presumably to make sure that most of the products she used to keep her hair so curly was washed out so that she could manipulate it into a different style. After being washed, dried and straightened out a little bit, Sunbeam now had perfectly long and luscious locks that still kept an ever so slight curl from the ends of her hair right down to the follicle, she had everything she needed for her date with Fancy Pants.
The day arrived, it was early evening and Sunbeam was nervously getting ready for her date, trying to hurry herself up so she wouldn't be late but not getting too stressed in case she got distracted by her own stress and forgot something or messed things up. Once she was convinced that she was ready after triple-checking that she had everything, she descended the stairs to give her mother the full look of her date attire, Stellar just swelled with pride as she said "Oh honey, just look at you! Fancy Pants would have to be mad to not want to marry you! Forgive me for being crude but if I were him, I'd skip the date and get a room at the nearest hotel to get those clothes off of you as soon as possible!" Sunbeam just giggled despite the fact that her own mother had pretty much just said "If I were a man, I'd fuck you", though she felt an odd sensation in her hair, only to notice that her mother was weaving a rose into her hair and making sure it stayed in position by curling the stem around the back of her ear, a stem that was, luckily, devoid of thorns. Stellar went "I think that rose looks rather fetching, it's the cherry on top of the cake and shows your refinement! Quickly now, the cab won't wait forever!"
After practically leaping into the taxi, Sunbeam waited patiently through far too much traffic and somehow still managed to arrive at the restaurant five minutes early, with Fancy Pants arriving about thirty seconds later. As soon as Fancy Pants saw his date for the evening, his mouth was agape and his eyes went so wide that his monocle fell from his face, he had never seen a woman look so ravishing, in all of his years of countless women throwing themselves at him because of his handsome looks and wealth, never had he seen someone so beautiful, she had obviously put in a lot of effort to look good for him and he could certainly tell. Fancy Pants realized he'd been staring too long and fumbled to replace his monocle as he said "My... m-my goodness Sunbeam you look... simply marvelous tonight! Shall we?" Fancy pants offered his arm, which Sunbeam took gladly as they walked into the restaurant together.
The date went as well as could be expected and more, they both really enjoyed each other's company and were able to hold a conversation despite Sunbeam being unable to speak a single word, Fancy Pants was relieved that he could understand what she was trying to communicate so easily. As the night drew to a close, they exited the restaurant and were faced with nothing but dark and empty streets, Fancy Pants had insisted that Sunbeam not go home so late at night and invited her to stay with him at his hotel room. Sunbeam had smirked at the suggestion, Fancy Pants could have easily gotten her home safely, he was clearly hoping for some kind of action despite the fact that she had already made it clear to him that nothing was entering her front or back door until marriage. The idea of them publicly acknowledging that they were officially a couple had been solidified that very night, very much helped along by the fact that Sunbeam had eagerly given Fancy Pants a hand job, even though there was a tiny voice in the back of her mind that had made her nervous about it. How could it possibly get any better?
