The Daily Life Of Anonymous
History Repeats
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTwilight heard a sudden clicking sound as her eyes were scanning the crowd. Her head snapped to Anon who was shaking slightly and clearly distressed. Mayor Mare continued trying to get the ponies questions, oblivious to the situation behind her. As Twilight took a few steps forward, her head tilted slightly, trying to see the human's face better. "Are you ok?" She asked concerned. His eyes were shut tightly while his face was scrunched and twitching with clear anguish.
Anon turned his head towards Twilight before opening his eyes, which gave off a green, almost smoke-like haze. Twilight's eyes widened before her head snapped to Mayor Mare. "Thanks for having us Mayor, but we really need to go thanks again bye!" Twilight quickly blurted out before her magic enveloped both her and Anon as they disappeared in a bright purple flash, before reappearing in Twilight's Study
As soon as they teleported, Anon lashed out with a punch. The Alicorn managed to duck just in time before a magical barrier surrounded her. The human's second punch struck the barrier. The noise filled the room as it echoed off the crystal walls. Again and again he struck the barrier, his knuckles bled with each blow. Blood began to smear and splatter across her protective bubble from his relentless assault.
"Anon you need to snap out of it!" Twilight exclaimed loudly. The punches ceased for just a second before the barrier shook as it cracked. "Forgive me." She stated quietly, her protective bubble morphed into a thick transparent wall that began to push the human back. Anon's shoes scraped against the floor as he got closer towards the room's wall.
Just as he began to be sandwiched between the two walls. Twilight saw thin tendrils of magic suddenly fly from out behind the wall, before their trajectory changed towards Twilight. She jumped back, causing them to collide with the floor, the impact making the tendril ends dissipate. Her horn glowed brighter as she used this respite to sever the tendrils of magic with a quick few blasts of her horn. The alicorn could now return her attention to Anon. Who seemed to still be struggling between the walls.
"Anon, enough. There has to be a better way to get you under control than force." She pleaded before her hoof hit something as she walked forward. It was the collar. "When did he take it off?" She questioned out loud to herself, without the collar, her options were very limited, and she had a feeling most of them would not work.
Her thoughts were interrupted when the thick magical wall faulted for a moment as a large green spike broke through the middle, cracks began to quickly spread to the corners before it shattered and dissipated along with the spike moments later. Now free, the human did not wait a second before sprinting towards Twilight, she attempted to grab him with her magic, but he deftly dodged each of her attempts as her magic grabbed nothing but air.
Taking a deep breath, Twilight erected another protective bubble, but this time around Anon. It was up in less than a second, but the human almost managed to escape it before completion, smacking into the curved wall that halted his movements. While the bubble was partially transparent, the strength and thickness of it prevented her from seeing the human clearly. Instead, it acted like frosted glass.
"MAC! I need your assistance." Twilight shouted, her breath heavy and uneven from exertion. Normally, strong spells don't impact her quite as hard, but in-between the dodging and constant manipulation, it tired her out quickly.
Anon began punching the dome. Again and again in an almost rhythmic pattern. Each crack or fault was fixed immediately as Twilight stalled for time. She did not have to wait for long, however. Heavy footsteps echoed throughout the castle hallways as they got louder and louder before a familiar wooden construct entered the room.
"Is everything ok Princess!?" Mac questioned concerned.
Twilight swallowed as a bead of sweat rolled down her forehead. "For now, but I need you to help me restrain Anon. I'll explain everything afterwards, but he's not himself and needs our help." Twilight explained briefly. The thuds from Anon's constant barrage never ceasing.
Mac nodded. "Understood." He replied simply. His back shrunk slightly as the wooden mass moved about his body until they rested on his hands, they grew into large three-digit claw-like appendages.
Twilight took another deep breath before she let the protective bubble break against the human's assault. His fist punched through the magical barrier, shattering it completely. The dissipating magic obscured the construct from his vision until his hand reached towards the human's chest, who managed to duck in time as it went over his crouched frame. In one swift motion, Anon weaved past Mac's grasping hands before uppercutting his wooden chin. Just after the impact, a large green spike grew from the human knuckles, it went through Mac's head with ease as it poked out the top. Sharp pieces of wood scattered about the room.
Twilight could only watch as she charged her horn, magic gathered around as it swirled. The construct struggled to keep up with the human as Anon broke piece after piece off him. The floor was covered in wooden chunks and splinters. Mac was not expecting such a different fighting style. Last time they fought, Anon was cautious and calculating. Here, he had no care, no strategy and no respect. Mac's thoughts were cut short when Anon's fist broke straight through the construct's chest, punching out Mac's core. He quickly went stiff as all magic left his wooden form. The crystal core fell to the floor as it rolled into the corner.
Anon pulled his fist from the now pile of wood before it fell over, breaking. His eyes quickly found Twilight. Before he could charge her, her magic turned a dark blue before it poured from her horn like a dense smoke. It coated the human as he swung his arms, attempting to clear this sudden smoke. Each step he took, his eyelids became heavy. His legs began to buckle just as the smoke cleared. He managed to crawl a few feet towards the Alicorn before his head hit the floor and was taken by sleep.
