The Adventures of the Equestria Girls
Trixie
Previous ChapterRainbow ran throughout a dark city with an eerie green moon in the sky as corpses burst out of the ground, grabbing at her flesh and tearing the meat from her bones.
She screamed as she suddenly woke up in bed, gasping for air and clenching her chest. “...Okay then…”
The Adventures of the Equestria Girls
“So…” Rainbow said as she laid across the couch, her feet and head on the opposing armrests. “I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure these dreams mean something. Which I’m not sure because, we got the heart thing. Now we just need to slip it into Scoots without noticing… that sounded better in my head.”
“...Do the two people you’ve killed come to mind?” Trixie asked as she pinched the bridge of her nose. “From what little I know, I think it means you feel guilty.”
“Guilty? Those guys put Scoots in the hospital. And gave me this stupid wound.” She exposed a bandaged part of her leg that had been hid with long socks.”Do you know how hard it is run on an injured leg? Lucky the magic helps me heal fast and power through it.” Rainbow said as she turned and looked at Trixie. “Why would I feel anything about them?”
“...Because you are, somehow , a good person.” Trixie said as she glared at her, causing Rainbow to frown.
“...You good?”
“...Good? Good…” Trixie said as she stood up and started laughing. “Good?! I started this thing so I could give people a stress reliever! And instead I become an accomplice to multiple crimes, including murder!” Rainbow widened her eyes as Trixie walked around and groaned.
“When I started this I hoped that the most I would deal with was someone cheating on their partner! Not second degree murder!” Trixie yelled as she glared at Rainbow, who popped her lips. “...Did you just pop your lips?!”
“I didn’t know how to respond!” Rainbow shouted back as she raised her arms and sat up. “Look, I’m sorry I’m doing exactly what this little place is for but I needed someone to talk to!”
“Talk to your pretend girlfriend.”
“She’s not talking to me.”
“Oh.” Trixie said as she gaped her mouth open and spoke sarcastically. “I wonder why?”
Rainbow looked at her dryly as she rolled her eyes, prompting Trixie to lung at her and shake her by the collar of her shirt as she pressed her against the couch. “Motherfucker! You’re such an idiot!”
“Hey! Quit it!” Rainbow yelled before she vanished and was suddenly behind Trixie as she fell to the couch. “...You done yet?”
“I hate you all.” She said as she laid on the couch. “Why do you have such a stupid power?” She asked in annoyance as Rainbow smirked.
“It is pretty awesome.” She bragged before she looked at Trixie and tried to cheer her up. “ But it does have some weaknesses. I’m not like the Flash, I can’t phase through stuff, I can’t run on water, not that I haven’t been trying. If I wanna move someone heavier than me I need momentum to move them so that’s fun.”
“All you’re doing is listing extra powers. You can still get out of nearly any situation.” Trixie said dryly.
“What? No…” Rainbow said as she tried to deflect how awesome her power was. “I can’t handle money problems.”
“Steal the money.”
“Kidnapping.”
“Search the city.”
“Tests.”
“Superspeed reading.”
“Okay I’m just gonna stop you right there. The whole moving fast with a fast mind thing only works when I’m running fast, cause then I’m like sooming around and processing things quickly. Otherwise if it’s something like reading a book I’m just sitting there and reading a book for like hours . Do you know how boring that is?” Rainbow said as she gagged.
“...I have another person, get out.”
“So… she lied to her parents about me. Am I supposed to take that? Ah mean, come on. My whole thing is that I expect honesty from others and give it in spades.” Applejack said as she spun her hat.
“Ah don’t know, maybe it’s just me. Ah’ve never really been all that flexible. Do the work, do the job, simple as that. Need me ta… what’s that word? Stray from the path like a wayward dog, yeah, might not end so well… What do ya think?” Applejack asked as she looked at Trixie, who looked back at her dryly.
“I… I don’t know. I’m woefully unequipped to deal with your problems but no actual therapist can be told these problems because said problems are illegal . So I guess I’m fucking stuck!” She yelled as Applejack looked at her with wide eyes.
“...Ya seem like ya need someone ta talk to.” She said as Trixie looked up at the ceiling clenching her fists before she started talking.
“I’m bombarded with tales of criminals and stealing from cops. I’m about to be evicted. I’m an accomplice in international theft. You girls are insan-” Applejack listened before she raised her eyebrow in concern.
“Hold on now, what was that last one?” She asked as Trixie paused and looked at her.
“You girls are insane?”
“Before that.”
“I’m an accomplice in international theft?”
“That one too.”
Trixie frowned before she realized what she said and sighed. “I’m about to be evicted.” Applejack looked at her in shock as Trxie pursed her lips. “Look, long story short, rent is due and I’m relying on the show I’m doing tonight to make ends meet. Flash is helping me but I’m just really stressed about this.” She said as she exhaled.
“I haven’t really told anyone this so… thank you.” Trixie said, walking to the door. “Now as for your problem, just talk to Rarity about it, that’s really your only option here.” She said before Applejack stood up.
“Oh no, we ain’t done here.” She said with a smile while she pulled out her phone. “Who’s free tonight?”
“Okay, I appreciate the fact that you’re willing to do this for me, but did you all have to be here?” Trixie asked as her seven friends walked throughout backstage, using their various powers to set up her show.
“Come on, after all the listening you do to our problems, it’s pretty much the least we can do.” Rainbow said as she zipped around the area before she eventually stopped, panting for air. “Okay, there’s this heavy crate… I…I… need someone to help…” She said as she held up a finger. “One minute while I… catch my breath…” She said as Applejack went with her to help.
Pinkie hopped about as she set her sugar containers about. “Okay if I place that there and the explosion comes from that specific amount then…” Sunset carried some supplies as she watched it happen.
“Trouble with the sugar?” She asked, only for the pink haired girl to shake her head.
“Nope, just measuring the sugar needed to do the proper fireworks for this place.” She said as she spread her arms to gesture to the stage Trixie was performing at. It was pretty fancy…
Especially since it was a giant stage.
“Yeah… hey Trixie how’d you book a place like this?” Sunset asked as Trixie set up her tricks.
“Guy owed me a favor for helping him get his keys out of a locked car.” She said casually. “Just need this to go well…” It was then Flash came in, carrying some stuff.
“Alright, got the supplies you needed.” He said as they all immediately stopped using their powers. “...I interrupt something?”
“Nope.” They all said quickly.
“So why isn’t she talking with me?” Rainbow said as she sat on the box of supplies while Applejack carried it with ease. They were both below the stage in an area full of supplies. “I’m likable.”
Applejack looked up at her and rolled her eyes. “Fluttershy probably is just trying to figure out her feelings. Just give her some time. Now ya know ya could just take the stuff out of this box-”
“But come on! I’m just trying to be the person she deserves and she won’t even let me try and be there for her.” She said as she crossed her arms.
Applejack looked up at her in annoyance. “Beginning to see why Trixie gets so stressed.” She said as she breathed out of her mouth.
“So how are things with you and Rar?” Rainbow asked. “Never figured you two would get together.”
“...What does that mean?” The farm girl asked as she stopped moving the box.
“Oh you know… Just the fact that you’re basically opposite people.” She said, not realizing that she and Fluttershy were the textbook definition of that.
“...Really?” She said as she looked at the rainbow haired girl with a frown.
“Ummm, so hey…” Sunset asked as she looked at Pinkie. “How’s… you know…” She held up her hand to twitch it.
“Oh, you mean the skeleton that lives in my head and is likely the source of my powers?” The pink haired girl said causally. “She’s actually got a name. The One Who Ignites.”
Sunset looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “That’s what she said. Though she said if it was easier, we could call her Iggy.”
“Yeah I’m gonna go with that option.” Sunset said as she didn’t feel like saying that whole thing every time she wanted to talk to her. “So what about the whole thing with… you know… how exactly is she in your head right now?”
Pinkie smiled before she held out her hand. “Wanna come see?”
“So, what’s going on?” Flash asked as he looked at Rarity, who raised her eyebrow and smiled.
“Oh I’ve got this amazing new dress on the line. I just need to have it done and it’ll be off to-”
“ Not what I’m talking about.” Flash said, putting a box on his lap to the side as he looked at her. “You and AJ were all lovey dovey before the trip, now it seems like you two can barely be around each other.”
“...It’s… Well it’s…” Rarity frowned as she tried to make things make sense so she could explain things.
“Complicated?” Flash asked as he raised his eyebrow. “I’m in love with a pony in a different dimension, who probably doesn’t even think about me on a day to day basis. I think I’m well past complicated.”
“...My parents… I don’t know whether or not they… whether or not they accept the fact that I…” Flash didn’t ask her to continue, knowing what she meant. “I… I don’t see them all that often, I don’t wanna risk everything…”
“...” Flash pursed his lips as he frowned. “Well… you’re definitely in a complicated situation…” Rarity nodded as he continued. “That brings up the main question… Do you love her more than you fear your parents not loving you for you?”
He then stood up and left, leaving Rarity to sit there and bit her hand. “...I need some ice cream…”
“Look I’m sorry, that was a bit harsh of me. I shouldn’t have said that.” Rainbow said as she sat on top of the crate. “It’s just that you’re the farm girl who gets her hands messy and Rarity…”
“...” Applejack twitched her eye. “...Ya know what? I am done tip toeing around this. Rainbow, you are a selfish, arrogant, ignorant lady who never thinks anything through. No wonder Fluttershy doesn’t wanna date ya, who would? Ya talk first and think never, and somehow don’t run your feet nearly as much as ya run your gums, because ya don’t even got the sense that God gave a goose. You’re so obsessed with fame and fortune and being a hero that ya forget to be an actual good person. And I can’t even say that you’ll die alone because there’s probably someone out there with a brian smaller than a minnow enough to think they can have a happy relationship with the girl who’s got a piddlin’ amount of consideration.”
Rainbow looked down at her as she smacked her lips. She sat cross legged on the crate as she took her phone out of her pocket and placed it on the crate. “....I’m gonna hurt you.” Applejack raised her eyebrow, only for Rainbow to vanish in the blink of an eye. She looked around for a few seconds before suddenly feeling herself get socked in the face.
The country girl stumbled a bit, but ultimately was fine. “I have super strength! Ya can’t hurt me!” She yelled before she tripped on seemingly nothing and fell to the floor. “That’s a cheap shot! You’re throwing a hissy fit!”
She was bombarded on all sides, before she growled and slammed her fists into the ground. “Oh forget it!” She yelled, sending out a wave of force that sent Rainbow flying into the wall. Applejack frowned as she got up and heading over to her. “Ya wanna fight?! Don’t blame me when ya end up in a wall ya jockey…” She paused as she couldn’t come up with a good name.
Rainbow smirked at her. “Oh we’re just getting started farm girl.” She said before she vanished and started running around her, creating a vortex that started siphoning the air from her.
Oh… great…
“Okay, this is going to be fine. Everything is gonna be fine.” Trixie said as she prepared to go out onto the stage. Your friends are helping you, you have nothing to worry about.” She then watched as the curtains started opening.
She took a deep breath before she spoke up. “LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE G-” She was interrupted as the area started shaking and rumbling as sounds of fighting came from below.
“...I hate my friends.”
