-----------------------------------------------------THE FRANCE-LUXEMBOURG BORDER---------------------------------------------------
It was now 5:00am here, and it was a stressful day for Private Charles Macron, and his French Army platoon on the border with Luxembourg. The German Army had rapidly advanced through the small nation that Luxembourg was, and was rapidly charging towards France. If they took France, it would be a crippling blow to the Allied nations, and France would once more be in dark times, as it had during the era of Napoleon, and before the Revolution. That was a horrifying thing to think about, thought Macron, as he got his sniper rifle, and was on overwatch, keeping an eye out for Germans. This outpost thankfully had an anti-aircraft gun, to deal with German Stukas and Bf109s.
As Macron and his comrades continued the overwatch of the borders, eyes peeled for any Germans, they suddenly heard aircraft engines. It was extremely loud, and only got louder, indicating a plane, or many planes, were coming, low and fast. No aircraft in the French military was that fast, and no Allied planes were in the area, which only meant one thing. Germans! The alarm began ringing, and the anti-aircraft gun began to be aimed, as the planes came nearer. Soon, it began firing, as the planes were directly above them, and getting ready to rain hellfire.
As the gun began firing, the crew watched as two Bf109s dropped out of the sky. Then, they saw multiple German tanks charging towards their positions. They would hopefully be able to deal with them before they could break the border open, as a large number of soldiers had been moved to this post in the last day. They had strength in numbers, while the Germans had the stronger equipment.
As the Germans raced towards the border, guns blazing, the French soldiers began firing back, with all of the might and equipment they had available. As the French began to fight, a loud explosion was heard, and with a shock, they realised that a bomb, dropped by a lone Stuka that had not been detected, had destroyed the anti-aircraft gun, and the soldiers manning it.
As the horrified soldiers began running helter-skelter, panicked by this, Macron and his friends continued fighting, determined to prevent the Germans from entering France at all costs. If France was lost, they couldn't imagine what would become of the rest of Europe, once the Nazis had established their rule everywhere across the continent. Macron and his friends were not willing to surrender, and they continued shooting at the Germans, who were closing in. Multiple German soldiers had already fallen, and two tanks had already been destroyed.
As the French continued fighting, Macron suddenly heard multiple of his fellow soldiers shouting, as they were trying to restrain a few of their own. "You filthy traitors! You want to give ourselves up to the Germans! What are you thinking, you putain assholes!", as the soldiers at the post began beating them up. Macron was horrified and disgusted at his fellow soldiers on hearing this.
"WHAT THE FUCK! YOU GUYS WANT US TO SURRENDER TO THE GERMANS?" shouted Macron.
"Yes, it is the only way to avoid bloodshed! They'll kill us all if we continue to fight!" shouted the cowards, as they continued to get beaten by their fellow soldiers.
"You're crazy! Do you know what the Germans will do to our country if they take France? They'll pillage our nation, rob it of all of its gold and wealth, and turn it into their paradise!" said Macron, as he took out his gun, and began aiming it at the two traitors, who began screaming at that, as some of Macron's fellow soldiers began cheering him. Two seconds later, he fired a shower of bullets upon the traitors, killing them instantly. Traitors had no place in France, thought Macron, as he continued firing at the Germans.
However, soon, the Germans activated their most powerful weapon, the Zyklon C gas dispensers, and soon, the whole area was covered in the poisonous gas, and melting the French soldiers' lungs, including Macron's. He was violently thrashing around, unable to breathe, desperate for air, as his lungs melted. Soon, he and the other French soldiers were all no more, killed by the poison, bravely trying to fight the Germans.
The Germans, however, were unaffected by the gas, as the tanks were gas-proof, and the ground soldiers were also wearing gas masks, to avoid inhaling in the Zyklon C, or their own lungs would also have been melted by the gas. As the gas dissipated, it showed that all of the French soldiers were dead. Not even one was still alive, not even a spider. The happy Germans began breaking down the border post, their path into France now obstructed. Soon, it would be their country.
----------------------------------------------------------------CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES, PARIS-------------------------------------------------------------
It was now 8:00am here in Paris. The warm summer day in France had turned into a nightmare from a calm day. Out of nowhere, without any warning, German troops and aircraft had suddenly burst into Paris, and the whole country was starting to be taken by force. The beautiful avenue that Champs-Élysées normally was had turned into a warzone, between the French and the Germans. Already, the French seemed to be losing.
Some of the luxurious shops and boutiques on the street were ablaze, and others were battlegrounds. In one of the few intact remaining ones, Rarity, a few ponies, and some French people were taking shelter from the battle outside, which was raging in insanity. Rarity had never been in a battle before, and she had not enlisted in the military like how Rainbow and Applejack had, so she now she felt how terrified they must have been whenever they went into a battle, and they were trained military now. She was a civilian, caught in this horrifying war.
Rarity and some of her friends had been touring Paris, the city of love, they had heard. They had been in France for the last week, and had been thoroughly enjoying so far. The fashion, the monuments, it was all beautiful. Now, that had been destroyed with the invasion by the Germans. The roads of the city were in ruins, destroyed heartlessly by the Germans.
Rarity and her friends were all huddled in a boutique called 'Maison des vêtements', trying to figure out how they could escape the Germans. Road and rail routes out of Paris would have been blocked off, so the only way was by air. Unfortunately, the Le Bourget Airport in Paris was still around 20 to 30 minutes from where they currently were, which gave the Germans plenty of time to kill them. They had already lost quite a few in the crossfire outside, and they didn't want to lose anymore.
"What do we do? We can't just stay here, the Germans will kill all of us!" said Rarity.
"Well, we have to do something! We need to get to Le Bourget, or else we'll be stuck here in occupied France! Who knows what the Germans will do, especially to you ponies!" said one of the Frenchmen who was there.
"Well, how do we get there, and if we do, what is the probability that there will be an intact plane, with pilots, to get us out of this city?"
"Well, we could just steal a car from the underground parking lot. I don't think anyone is there right now, so we should be able to use that to get out of here." suggested one of the other ponies.
"Then what are we waiting for, let's go!" said some of the humans, as they followed by Rarity and her friends, ran downstairs to the parking lot, where thankfully, some cars were still intact. The keys were on the wall, as the store had valet parking, and two of the humans were chosen to drive. They chose two of the larger limousines, to accommodate more. Soon, they had started the cars, and the door was opened, as the cars began charging out of Maison des vêtements, headed for Le Bourget.
The Germans were taken by surprise, as the two cars charged down the streets. In fact, they were surprised enough to see that people had escaped that they were too slow to get their guns before the cars disappeared from their sights. In fact, the two cars were speeding so fast down the streets of Paris that their occupants were both happy and terrified at the breakneck speed. Thankfully, the one time they encountered a German patrol, they just ran the Germans over, although one did fire, but the bullet only hit the cars' mirror.
Soon, after a 23-minute ride of terror, at exactly 9:00am, they arrived at Le Bourget Airport, and ran inside, hoping to get on a plane as fast as they could. As they ran onto the tarmac, on which multiple planes were burning, they noticed one plane that was somehow intact. It was a French-made Potez 62 twin-engine monoplane airliner, which had Air France markings.

(this but with Air France markings)
They quickly ran to the plane, whose passenger door seemed to be open. As they ran inside, they saw the surprised pilots, coming outside to see if Germans were trying to stop the plane from taking off. "You're all French?" he asked in French.
"We are, the ponies aren't, but we all need a ride out of here. Let's go!" said one of the humans, as they all ran to the seats. The pilots, despite being stunned, quickly went back to the cockpit, as they began starting the plane's engines, and closing the door. Soon, the plane was taxiing. However, the main runway was unusable due to damage suffered by German bombing. Thankfully, they had one last option. The main taxiway, which was not at all cratered by any bombing.
The Germans probably didn't expect it, but so did anyone on board, and they held their breaths as the pilots throttled up at the end of the taxiway, and the plane began rolling. Thankfully, there was just enough room for the plane to get airborne, and it was in the air just by the end of the taxiway.
As the plane began climbing away from Paris, and towards the coast of France and the English Channel, the ponies watched sadly as the burning city disappeared, especially Rarity, who had loved Paris, and gotten compliments for her accent from many of the French people she had met, who had said that if she wasn't a pony, she seemed like a born and raised citizen of France. Rarity and the others just hoped that one day, the war would end, and they could come back to France again.
