The Future Will Change
Episode VI: Anima Style
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe next morning…
After a night of ravenous love-making as usual, Luna would awaken and walk into the bathroom where she washed her face and took a look at herself in the mirror.
“Hm…mm…”
It took her a moment to realize…that she had a tail.
“...Hm?”
And not only that, her entire body was covered in a layer of blue fur that matched her skin color.
“...what…?”
To top it off, her face was now a fox-like muzzle and her teeth were sharp. All in all, Luna had essentially become a fox-like humanoid creature of some sort.
“WHAT THE HELL--?!” she squealed aloud, which immediately awakened Aidon.
“Huh?!” Aidon leapt out of bed and looked around. “...Luna, are you alright?! What’s going on?!”
Luna stormed out to him and showed him her current form. “Look at me! I’m a poorly-made piece of internet fanart bait!”
Aidon, not familiar with the concept of ‘fanart’, tried his best to process what she had just said. “...I see. Admittedly, you don’t look half-bad all things considered.”
“...” Luna simply stared at him in silence.
“...what’s wrong? Do I have something on my face?”
Luna stood aside, her tail wagging nervously, “You might want to check the mirror.” Though her nerves turned into what sounded like a hardness of breath the longer she looked at him--possibly due to attraction?
Aidon quickly rushed into the bathroom and took a look at himself.
“Huh. So that happened,” he said with an unamused shrug. His tone indicated that this wasn’t at all that shocking to him. But what exactly did he look like?
A jet-black hellhound with three tails that emitted black fire from the tips.
“So I’m Cerberus but instead of three heads, I have three tails,” he rolled his eyes, “Sure, why not? Not the craziest thing that’s happened.”
“...do you think this could be a result of the film we watched last night?” Luna asked, “Was there an actual curse in it?”
“I’m honestly not sure, though it wouldn’t surprise me if it was.” It wasn’t so much the ‘what’, but rather ‘why’ in this case. “I’m confused though. What’s the purpose of spreading some kind of curse through a television?”
Just then, a voice would call out to them. A feminine tone with an accent akin to those found in Trottingham.
“Oi! I think ya caught somethin’ from that movie ya watched!”
“...Hello? Is someone there?” Aidon called back, “Do you happen to know what’s going on?”
“Come out to me and I’ll explain everythin’, mate.”
Naturally, Luna was suspicious. Against her nature, she sniffed the air as her fox ears twitched in the direction “...think we can trust this individual?”
“Given that I could easily rend their soul from their body,” Aidon replied with a yawn, exposing his canine maw. “I don’t think we have anything to worry about, Luna. Just stay behind me.”
With that in mind, Aidon carefully approached the bedroom door and grabbed the knob with his canine paw-hand. Once he opened it, he and Luna both walked out to the living room where an Oni had made herself busy…cleaning the house?
“Oi, you lot are a busy pair, ain’tcha? This place is a sparkin’ mess…”
To be exact, she was a six-foot tall blue oni with two horns on her forehead and a set of long, white hair. Her upper body was clad in nothing but sports tape that held her rather bouncy, well-endowed chest together. Below that, she had a set of rather chiseled abs that matched her muscular arms. Arms that led into hands wrapped in sports tape up to her wrists, though her fingers were bare.
And below that, she wore what appeared to be a pair of white martial artist pants and a black belt that held them up tightly. Lastly, she currently had her shoes off, leaving her blue feet bare for the moment as she continued to put away the trash and started to clean the dishes that the couple had left behind last night.
“Anyway, I came outcha telly,” she continued as she threw some trash away, “And looks like I was too late to help. You’ve already been afflicted with the Anima Curse.”
“...Anima Curse?” Luna tilted her head. “I don’t follow.”
Aidon snapped his fingers as his tails wagged. “Oh! That curse. I remember now, it’s a curse that makes use of transmogrification in order to force people to join a cult. But I never realized it made it here into the human world.”
“Yeah you right on it, old man,” the oni woman commented as he opened the fridge, “Oi, mind if I take one’a these bevvies?” she asked in reference to the cans of beer that were present in the fridge.
“...sure,” Aidon nodded. “Not a problem.”
“You cleaned up for us so it’s the least we could do,” Luna replied with a smile and wag of her tail. Then turned to Aidon. “So…if this is a curse to follow a cult, why weren’t we affected?”
“Maybe we have high concentrations of magic that prevent us from succumbing to it fully,” Aidon mused as he looked at his paw-hands, “...at least, that’s my best guess. But there’s no telling how many others watched that film and befell the same curse, or who’s behind this. Speaking of which…”
Aidon glanced over at the oni who had taken a seat on the couch and started sipping the beer.
“...excuse me, miss, but two questions: Who are you and where are you from?”
“I’m from what you’d call this world’s version of Hell I s’pose,” she answered honestly, “Had a barney or two with Cerberus. Also saw this one bloke named Tirek once…”
“...that confirms my suspicion,” Aidon muttered, “The underworld of Equestria and the human world are one and the same.”
Luna would walk around to her and ask, “...okay, that answers that. But what do you do?”
"Guess you could call me crowd control for this kinda crap," the oni went on, "A paranormal investiga'or of sorts. I'm 'ere to 'elp."
