The psychotic gentlegriff
C12 This definitely isn’t Site Alpha?
Previous ChapterNext ChapterNow within his own mind. Anubis felt another presence as he looked around this eternal plane of consciousness. He knew that something was watching him and he didn’t like it. “Show yourself intruder! At once!”
“I’m the intruder? Says the one who subconsciously stumbled into my place of sanctuary, mortal.” A ominous and omnipresent voice echoed out to him.
“Show yourself loud shouting voice of the unknown.”
“Ha ha ha hahaha!” The voice billowed out in a mocking tone, from what Anubis could gather. “Mortal, if I was to reveal my form to you. Your terrestrial mind would shatter beyond repair and you’ll be nothing more than a husk of your former self.”
“That’s cool, but have you ever considered making a form that won’t break my mortal mind? Just a suggestion.” The silence spoke louder than the ominous voice itself. “Didn’t think of that, no.”
“Silence mortal! It had never crossed my thoughts. But it’s a alright idea mortal.”
“The name’s Anubis Grimgost. And don’t the mind bending cosmic entity that is confined to the ninth dimension, have a name?”
“My name is Zodiacrdanals, you should be honoured to know this name, Anubis Grimgost.”
“Well that’s a little bit long for a name and I can’t pronounce that. So I’m going to call you Zodiac. So why am I here Zodiac?”
“I will allow you to call me such for now. Well it seems that your physical form has merged with one of my Necrovine artefacts which is simultaneously good and bad for you. The one you bonded with is called the Red Stone of the Bloody Empire. It allows your body to control its own cells and atomic structure, which is good. But it also gives your corporeal form access to my sanctuary.”
“And why is that a bad thing?”
“Because! Your mind is slowly cracking as we speak, terrestrial. The inhabitants of Equas can not comprehend what I am. But you seem to be unaffected by the void, by the eternal plane of emptiness and more so myself. So what are you really?”
“Well that’s a long story but is there nothing in this place other than you Zodiac?”
“Yes there are other lesser beings that inhabit this realm. But I must warn you, they are horrors beyond your understanding Anubis. If you are still curious, then I can show you, one that is weaker and less draining on your sanity. But I’d advise not to.”
“Really! Oh you just have to show me, I need to see this abomination against creation itself.”
“But are you not concerned for your safety? Oh I’m actually conversing with a mortal, that’s already gone mad. And I was just beginning to enjoy my peace.”
“Yo I can still hear you, so when do I get to see this unspeakable creature?”
“If you take a second to look around you will see it.”
Anubis started to search the eternal plane for anything different, when he saw it, amalgamation of twisted and distorted faces trapped inside a large fleshy blob that stood on two stubby legs. The creature was about 7 to 8 feet tall and 5 feet wide, the colour was one he had grew familiar with. A dark reddish brown with green patches along its mass. The the colour of decay itself. The entity had long tendrils reaching out in every conceivable direction. Trying to grab something it can never reach. In the centre of the blob of flesh there sat a large hole, which acted as a mouth with endless rows of sharp jagged teeth. But it didn’t seem to scare him. No, it made him grow more curious of the creature. Because it reminded him of one of his experiments at Site Alpha. Where he attempted to mix the D.N.A. of a human with an octopus which worked but he had classified as a failure because the creature was too stupid and confused for its own good. So he killed it, a month after it’s unholy creation. Then in a blink of an eye it was gone, as if it had never there to begin with. “See Anubis, that is some of the horrors that reside with in this place. Now do you understand why this is bad for your mind.”
“Oh on the contrary my incomprehensible friend. You mentioned that there was more of these artefacts in existence, right? So what with happened to me if I was to bond with all of them?”
“Yes, there are two more and I do not know what would happen if you obtained the other two? But I doubt that your mind and body would survive that outcome.”
“Maybe but aren’t you curious about it? I mean an entity such as yourself not knowing the answer to a simple question, such as what would happen if.”
“You have peaked my curiosity but you’re nothing more than a tool. A foolish tool at that.”
“Aw thank you Zodiac, I love you too. So what does the other two Necrovine artefacts do?”
The first of two is known as the Green Stone of the Ancients. It will give the inflicted individual the ability to control atoms that are outside of their body. Effecting the world around them. And the second ability is control one’s how long they want to live for, minus unnatural causes of death.
“Those two abilities seem useful, very useful. So the third one.”
The last one is known as the Blue Stone of the Primordials. It harbours the ability to have access and use the primordial elements at will. Its second ability is to combined the soul with the body. Allowing the inflicted individual to use spatial gates, and pocket dimensions.”
“They all seem very powerful but what’s the trade off?”
“The trade of is the cost of the individuals mind and soul if used by one who is of weak mind and spirit, Anubis.”
As Anubis form began to flash in and out of existence. He asked if he could visit Zodicrdanals again. Which took the higher being by surprise and Zodiac planned to make a form that Anubis would be able to interact with. As the griffon’s form disappears and was now on its way back to his body.
———————————————————————
He awoke with a chill and an uncomfortable sensation in the back of his mind, as if he could still feel the presence of Zodiacrdanals with in his mind. “What have I gotten myself into now? Oh well I guess I’ll try to enjoy this new opportunity for discovery.”
Author's Note
A shorter chapter but it was an odd conversation between a higher entity and curious mortal.
But I’d say Anubis made a good first impression. I think?
