The psychotic gentlegriff

It was later on in the day and Anubis was just walking around the royal gardens, enjoying the pleasant breeze.

That’s when a stallion in a suit walked up to him and in a snobby accent said. “Excuse me but you’re ruining the lovely atmosphere of the royal gardens, so remove yourself immediately griffon.”

“Hahahaha! No.” Anubis thought that this individual sounded familiar but couldn’t put his claw on where he had heard him.

“How dear you say no you…. you animal!”

“Mhmm I see your problem, yes. You have a severe lack of brain cells, no wonder why you couldn’t except the words that came out of my beak. I do pity you good sir, after all I couldn’t imagine living life as dumb as you.”

“Wha? You beast! GUARDS!!! Help! this griffon tried to rob me!”

Galloping could be heard coming from a cross the garden and three guards sprinted round the corner.

Upon seeing Anubis and the noble, they slowed down and two of them began searching for the thief.

The smug noble look shocked when the third guard came up to the griffon and asked if he saw where this would be robber went.

“Sir did you see where the griffon in question went?”

“mhmm unfortunately I didn’t but this poor stallion seems to be uninjured…. For now.” He whispered that last part whilst looking into the shocked eyes of the noble.

“Is that true lord Upper Class?”

“….Y-yes it is I am uninjured, t-thanks to this griffon.”

“Oh thank goodness my lord and thank you Anubis. If you weren’t here, who knows what might have happened.”

“Yes, who knows…. Anyway I must be off her highness is expecting me, ta ta.”

The guards fussed over the scared stiff noble whilst Anubis flew off.

Upper Class couldn’t get rid of the image of his eyes, they conveyed an intense desire to kill and the words he spoke scared him. What would have happened if the guards not shown up? The griffon was big and intimidating but he was a unicorn, he had something the griff didn’t. Magic.

Anubis landed and thought to himself that, he had heard the name Upper Class once before and that was on the first day he arrived in this world.

“I hope that stuck up pompous prick has trouble sleeping tonight.”

Now walking to Celestia’s private study he lost himself in thought and bumped into one of the guards, a guards hen.

“Oh I am terribly sorry, please allow me to help you up…. You’re one of the guards I’ve been training with…. Mmmmm sorry but I must have forgotten your name when we bumped into each other.”

“Oh no no no I’m the one who’s sorry sir, I’m private Glacier.”

“Glacier? That’s a lovely name, very fitting for such a lovely hen. I have a question for you?”

The blushing hen nodded and her helmet fell over her eyes, she quickly fixed it and tightened the straps.

“hehehe good, so how old are you?”

“Um I’m 18.”

“Mmmmm okay well I’ve got a job for you.”

“Of course sir.” She gave a sharp salute.

“I need you to become friends with Silverfeather.”

“T-the princess!? But I’m just a commoner sir, she wouldn’t want to be around me. I-i was homeless before I joined the guard.”

“Okay and?”

“Wha? Sir didn’t you hear what I just said?”

“I did and I believe that you’re mistaken, you see I am also a commoner…. Or would I be considered a peasant? Nevertheless me and her get along just fine.”

“B-but I thought you were some sort of noble?”

“Nope, heck I’m not even a higher rank than you and that’s because I’m not actually part of the guard. So enough of that sir nonsense, it’s actually quite annoying.”

“What really but everycreature thought you were some kind of special agent or something like that. I mean you address the princesses so casually and all the guards salute you?”

“And just like you I was with out a place to call my own before I was brought here, so I don’t see why you can’t be friends with Silverfeather.”

“But why me? Aren’t you two dating?”

“Yes but a lover is very different from a friend, so I believe that you being her friend would help her feel less alone or detached from others.”

“But what if I upset her?”

“Oh shush friends disagree all the time, so it’s inevitable and I won’t let her take any serious action against you. Just make sure your friendship with her is genuine and if it doesn’t work out with you two then that’s alright.”

“O-Okay sir.”

“The names Anubis and when you’re done with your duties, please come and find me. I’ll introduce you to Silver, the real Silver.”

“Yes of course A-Anubis, um bye see you later.”

“See you later Glacier.” And with that the guards hen went back to her job whilst Anubis rushed to Celestia’s study for he was late.”

He let himself in and quickly made himself comfortable on a large cushion, Celestia watched and giggled at Anubis’s wind swept feathers on top his head.

“Mhmmm I like the new look, it suits you and it’s good to see that you decided to let yourself in today.”

“Argh stupid feathers and sorry about that I forgot.”

“Oh no it’s a good thing, it means your getting more comfortable in the castle.”

“Yeah I guess so but I think you need to invest in new cushions because I just can’t get comfortable, oh and do you happen to know were Silver is?”

“Yes but I’ll tell you only if you put this on, please.” She then proceeded to levitate from behind her the butler’s uniform Anubis got a month back.

“Wha? No! Celestia, it really doesn’t suit me at all.”

“Well I’ll just have to be the judge of that but then again I don’t have to tell you where Silver is.”

“Sigh* fine give it here….”

“So why are you looking for her?”

“Because I want to introduce her to somegriffon who I reckon she will get along with. I want her to make a friend.”

“But aren’t you her friend?”

“She sees me as more than a friend so I can’t fill that role but I’ve found somegriffon who can.”

“Oh so is this friend a griff or a hen?”

“A hen of course, sorry to be blunt but Silver’s not only a princess but she’s beautiful too so no griff would just want to be friends, that’s just not how males work, something that’s universal no matter where you go.”

“I wouldn’t say that it’s universal…. Okay I guess you have a point but mares aren’t that much better, I mean captain Sky is a prime example. Even though she’s in a relationship with Blazing, she flirts with Graceful but because Graceful isn’t the most perceptive when it comes to mares.”

“Yeah he’s oblivious to any advances unless they’re a spearhead approach.”

“Yes…. But he’s a great Captain.”

“I wasn’t doubting that but you see my point, so I found a hen that’s a year younger then Silver so. She needs to have at least one friend she can go and have a girls night with.”

“Yeah you’re right.”

Anubis took the uniform into the next room and got dressed, after 6 or so minutes he exited back into the study.

Celestia’s reaction was immediate. “Oh my goodness you look so dashing in that, oh you just have to wear it more often.”

“Mhmmm I don’t like how plain the colour combo is but I like the tail coat, I might have one made in gray or a dark blue.”

“Oh yes I’ll introduce you to the royal seamstress later but as of right now, I’ll be teaching you some basic magic.”

“Ok but where’s Silver?”

“I’ll tell you after our lesson, by that time she should show up.”

“Sigh* fine let’s begin.”

Celestia spent the afternoon teaching Anubis how to feel and manipulate his manna. She was very impressed with how fast he learnt.

Within two hours he had managed to levitate a quill and then proceeded to write with it, something that the princess didn’t consider would have been possible with such little time.

“Ha ha look I’ve written my name and yours too, without touching the quill or paper.”

“Yes very impressive indeed, so are you ready to learn how to levitate multiple items at once?”

“Yes that would be great but let’s be honest how hard can it really be?” He said in a smug tone.

One hour later.

“How pant* is this pant* so pant* difficult?”

“Okay I believe that is enough for now, just take a minute to catch your breath and we’ll give it another attempt.”

“Pant* yeah thanks.”

Although he thought that levitating multiple objects at the same time would be easy, he couldn’t even keep two up in the air for longer that a minute.

He was also beginning to get a headache but that wouldn’t be enough to stop him from learning magic, this was something that he needed to learn and understand.

Celestia had a cold glass of water brought to him, they laid down on the cushion and made idle chit chat for a few minutes before she stretched out her wing and rested it on Anubis’s back.

He leaned towards Celestia and rested his head on the cushion, on the inside she was squealing with excitement but her exterior was calm and relaxed.

“Argh why can’t I lift more than one thing?”

“Because you need practice, you can’t just try it once and master it silly.”

“I know but it can’t be this hard?”

“Well the spell requires one’s attention and full concentration on all the objects, that means their location relative from you and their shape, size and weight.”

“I know but even when I focus on all of that, I can’t just stop my brain from thinking about everything else. Like my surroundings, potential threats and ideas. I can’t just turn that off!”

“Mhmmm I see, so what you’re saying is that you are focusing on everything as well as coming up with new ideas every second. Now I see why you’re having trouble with this, you’re not relaxed enough.”

“What?”

“You’re not relaxed enough, that’s why you’re struggling. Because you’re focusing on everything else all the time and your mind is filled with ideas constantly, you can’t just focus on a few things at a time…. So try levitating 10 books instead of two.”

“Mhmmmm, maybe you on to something…. Yes that makes sense now because I need to keep my mind busy in some way or another, okay let’s try this.”

Anubis got up and stood on his hind legs, igniting his claws. His crimson aura coated multiple books and he began to focus on lifting them, his headache got worse but the books started to rise up off the table.

He held them there for 1 to 2 minutes before dropping them and gasping for air.

“Well done but you need to remember to breathe silly and you forgot to relax.”

“Yeah but I did it, I actually did it Celestia…. So when do I get to learn fire magic?”

“Heheheheh not anytime soon Anubis but I will teach you how to one day.”

“And will that day be today? Or tomorrow is okay with me.”

“I’ll decide what day I think you’re ready to learn fire spells.”

“So maybe this week?”

“Anubis.”

“Sorry sorry I’m just excited, I mean I can do magic. You gotta admit that’s pretty cool.”

“Yes it is amazing but don’t go around casually casting spells please, I don’t want you to garner any more attention then you already have.”

“Okay I won’t but you don’t mind if I take another minute to rest?”

“Of course not.” She patted on the spot next to her. “Please come and rest her for a minute.”

“Thanks Celestia but are you just using any excuse to get close to me?”

“And what if I am?”

“Ha! then don’t mind if I do.” Anubis walked up to Celestia and fell sideways into her.

“Oof* hey be careful now, you’ve gotten heavier.”

“Gasp!* did you call me fat?”

“Heheheheh no silly, if anything you’re very well built. So I take it that Graceful’s training is paying off.”

“Yep, he’s making me work harder everyday but I can handle it…. Makes me wonder though, I’m still growing and gaining mass but my appetite hasn’t gotten bigger?”

“I for one think that’s a good thing, it isn’t exactly cheap to buy the amount of fish you eat.”

“Yeah but I’m sure if you brought it in bulk, the overall cost would go down.”

“I am doing that but smart of you to suggesting that, especially because of your age.”

“Thanks…. But I appear to be good at negotiating, see this bracelet. I managed to save 200 bits and get Silver a lovely complimentary necklace.”

“Oh really.” She had a knowing smile on her face. “So were you showing off in front of her and where did the 200 bits you saved go?”

“Cough* Cough* well I wasn’t trying to show off but I think i impressed her with the show and as for the bits, well I gave them to a pony on the streets.”

“Oh well that’s kind of you but why?”

“Really? What am I going to do with 200 bits?”

“I guess you have a point.”

“And it was an eye opening moment for Silver as well. She thought because Canterlot was the capital, she thought that everypony here had money.”

“So you showed her that that’s not the case.”

“Yeah it was a scummy thing to do but I couldn’t let her be so naive.”

“I think you did a good thing, a princess needs to know about these things. Better sooner than later if you ask me, her parents are great…. At being parents but they try too hard to protect her from reality.”

“Yeah I gather that, huff* she literally had no friends. I mean that’s just unfair, even if the only friends she could have had were crappie nobles….”

“Yes but I can see why they wouldn’t want her surrounded with that sort of company, a young mind is easily corrupted.”

“Yeah…. Anyway I think I’m ready to continue learning magic.”

“No you need to rest, magical exhaustion is no joke.” She wrapped her wing around him and held him to her side.

“Hey let go!”

“Nope.”

“Fine then but don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

“Wha? ah!” Anubis rolled Celestia onto her back and pinned both of her hooves to the ground.

“Ha see, you can’t contain me!”

She was speechless, her heart felt like it was about to explode. She knew that she could easily overpower Anubis with her Alicorn strength but for some unknown reason she didn’t.

Anubis noticed the position they were in and that Celestia was wide eyed and blushing, he panicked and jumped back.

“I’m sorry Celestia I-I didn’t mean to do that, are you okay?”

She rolled to her hooves and walked up to Anubis and grabbed his head with her magic, he tried to pull away but her magic was too strong.

“Look I didn’t mean to….” He was cut off by a set of lips colliding with his beak. Celestia had pulled him to her and kissed him.

His mind couldn’t come up with a reason as to why she was kissing him but he couldn’t deny that it was a completely different experience to kissing Silver. A part of him felt wrong but they both had already expressed their desire to share him, so it isn’t wrong? This world is confusing.

He slowly began to lean into the kiss and time came to a halt for a moment as they held each other.

When they broke the kiss their faces burned red with embarrassment. “Hehe that was…. Amazing Celestia.” He had a dreamy look in his eyes.

“Heheheh yes…. I have to admit that I kinda liked you flipping me over like that.” Her gaze fell to the ground and she scraped her hoof against the ground in what Anubis would describe as an adorable display by her highness.

“So do you want me to continue, my my Celestia I didn’t expect you desire to be viciously attacked by a dangerous predator. Oh what would the noble scum think of their princess, if they found out.” Anubis lowered himself into a pouncing position and Celestia took a step back. His mind clouded by her highnesses excited scent filling the room.

“Hehehehe oh as if I care about what they think.”

As Anubis was about to jump, he stopped when he heard a lamp fall over. His head shot up and he looked in the direction of Celestia’s desk, then he jumped back as Silver jumped out from behind it.

“Hey why don’t you look at me with that hunger in your eyes?!!?”

“SILVER!!! What the fuck are you doing here!?”

“oops, i um well…. I can explain, you see I gave Celestia some advice and just wanted to see if it would work…. That’s all!”

“Hey you didn’t give me any advice!”

“WHAT!? So you was watching me! That means you heard everything then.”

“Um yes…. I’m sorry but thank you for looking for a friend for me, I can’t wait to meet her…. So do you mind if I stay and watch?”

“Wha No! I’m mean yes I do mind…. You know what, I’m leaving. See you two at dinner and we’ll be having a guest join us.”

“Wait Anubis! I’m sorry!”

SLAM!*

They both winced and looked towards each other.

“I’m not really sure why he reacted like that Silver?”

“Sigh* it’s probably because he thought he was alone with you, when he wasn’t….”

“Look Silver I’m sure he’s not going to stay mad, he probably just needs to vent a little.”
