C61 magic-tech

magic-tech, a term that Anubis came up with whilst working on project dream gate at his mansion. The basis of this term, is a harmonious relationship between technology and magic.

He was underneath the city, in what was essentially the hanger for his airship. It stayed afloat by using magically infused crystal engines with anti-gravity enchantments that were being controlled by on board computers. The method of thrust was a similar set of smaller crystals that were enchanted with wind manipulation, embedded in the two magic crystal engines were six fire gems that were linked up to an ignition switch.

All in all, Anubis was proud of his work but it had taken longer than he had wanted, that was mostly because of his schedule. But he had found a work around, by giving Zodiacrdanals full control of his body at night. The process of construction was cut in half whilst Anubis slept.

He sat down and stared at it whilst drinking his tea, Silver was behind him floating around. She was using the prototype anti-gravity crystal engine to float around, simulating zero gravity.

“Hey Anubis! Come join me! It’s fun!”

“Hahahahah definitely looks fun but I’m fine dear.”

“Huff* so when is it ready to fly?”

“It’s actually complete but I’m going to wait before her maiden voyage.”

“Well make sure that Celestia knows okay….”

“I’m actually thinking about showing her the blueprints and the smaller proof of concept magic-tech crystal engine.”

“Wha? Wait really?”

“Yeah…. Oh speaking of Celestia, she told me to tell you that when your parents are here. You’ll need to stay in your own room.”

“What!! So Celestia will get to have you all to herself? That’s not fair!!” The echo in the cave made Anubis’s ears ring.

“Silver, shush. Fuck my ears…. Look you’re just gonna have to deal with it.” Anubis spun around to see her heartbroken eyes looking back at him, letting out a deep breath. “Stop sulking about it and get over it, it’s not like me and Celestia are going to be fucking every night.”

“But i might miss out?”

Silver dragged herself across the cave floor and rolled over once she reached Anubis’s claws. “Please~ I’ll do anything I swear.”

They both were making their way to Anubis’s room but at a slowed pace, thanks to an over encumbered hen. Celestia happily pushed a cart full of food and Blackfeather just wondered how one griff was going to eat all of it.

Once they got to his doors, Celestia flung them open and found a bored griff being lectured by Dr Tender. He finished his speech and Anubis’s expression went from joy to excitement and then to nervousness.

“Um hi Celestia and Queen Blackfeather…. Good morning? Or afternoon….”

“It’s the afternoon Anubis and here I’ll help you…. Also Blackfeather wanted to speak to you about Silver, don’t look so worried about it she’s not gonna bite your head.”

“Oh okay….” Anubis slowly began to eat whilst Celestia poured some tea, Blackfeather was shocked to say the least. The last time she had seen the griff he was only a bit taller than her daughter, now he was maybe as tall as Celestia.

“Excuse me but how tall is he now?”

“Just 11 inches shorter than me, why?”

The griffon queen cupped her beak. “I did think that my Silver was walking a bit funny lately….”

Anubis choked on his food and Celestia turned beet red, Blackfeather just giggled. “Well you have my blessing Anubis, from what she’s told me you’re a great griff. So how long do you plan on making me wait for grandcubs?”

“Uhhhhhh swan neck help me please, I don’t have the brain cells for this right now.”

“Well have you and Silver spoke about this?”

“Yes and we’re agreed that we’re not ready yet!”

“Cough* Cough* sorry to interrupt you, your highness but Anubis still needs to rest.”

“Oh my bad Dr Tender, we’ll be leaving now.” Celestia leaned over and gave him a kiss before saying goodbye and leaving Anubis to rest.

“So what did you want to speak to me about Tender?”

“Anubis, that green liquid you gave me is phenomenal. What did you call it again?”

“Oh you mean Recovery soda, yeah it works wonders but I need to figure out how to mass produce it.”

“Revolutionary, is what it is. I mean it can heal nearly any wound, even injuries that are normally lethal.”

“I did use my blood as a template, so of course it’s effective but the after taste isn’t pleasant.”

“I agree with you there…. So have you got anything else that you’re making? Oh and you can probably heal yourself now, unless you want to stay in bed for Harths Warming.”

“Yeah I’m probably going to eat all of this and then get up, see Everycreature.”

“Well the castle mostly empty, I’m only here because you got kicked into a light comer.”

“Nah…. They’ll probably be fine with it, if not sceptical about it but I’m sure they’ll appreciate it once they hear about the effects. I mean Silver’s feathers have never be so healthy looking and soft, so clearly they’ll love it if they find out.”

“You know what, I’m at a loss for words but my wife has noticed an improvement in my physical appearance…. So you wouldn’t mind if I got some more for her?”

“Sure, not a problem.”

“Thank you Anubis and once you’ve healed up, just make sure to limp around. So nopony get suspicious.”

“Yeah I was going to do it anyway, oh and I’ve got a crate of them stashed underneath some clothes in my closet. Just take what you need whenever.”

“Oh are you sure?”

“Yeah it is the time for giving.”

Anubis happily finished his food and climbed out of bed, making sure to heal only his skeleton as to make sure he has a convincing limp.

He left his room and slowly made his way through the castle just wondering around, the guards and maids all wished him a happy hearth warming. He noticed that there were very few of them but to him it made sense, Celestia was kind and considerate.

To be fair he wasn’t just wondering around completely aimlessly, he had picked up on Celestia’s scent and followed it.

Decorations were strung up everywhere and he began to ponder about the last time he had celebrated a holiday of any sorts, work was his only priority back then. After all there was no sleep for the wicked….

“Um hello? Celestia….”

“Oh Anubis your awake?”

“Hi Silver, how are you doing?”

“Better now that you’re awake, come on we’re all in here and Glacier is spending the blue moon festival with us…. And hearth warming.”

“That’s nice to hear that she’s not alone, go on ahead and I’ll catch up with you. I’m still sore from being kick.”

“Oh so Celestia told you what happened.”

“Yes but no, I know I was kicked by her but I don’t know why?”

“Oh…. Well I’ll just go on ahead and save you a spot near the fire.”

“Thanks Nimrod.”
