Anubis’s POV

It’s been a month since heat week and I have been busy with relocating Jernick and the others, building a decoy house in the Whitetail woods and exploring the Dreamscape. I had to insure that my dear Celestia didn’t find them or the mansion, I’ve also been working on an aircraft that uses anti-gravity magic to fly at high speeds. It was located under the castle, in the cave behind the waterfall.

But that wasn’t anything I should be worrying about right now, because I was outside of Canterlot College. I felt weird, thanks to the height difference between myself and the other students…. I was also the only Griffon from what I could see or so I thought, seeing a fellow beaky individual. I walked up to say hi.

But when i approached what looked to be a half griffon, half pony. I slowed my approach, once I was spotted by him. The reaction was surprising to say the least, I saw instead fear in his eyes and he immediately balled up shaking. He even had a cutie mark, his was a test tube with a bubbling liquid inside of it. He was a soft pinkish red with green feathers on his wings and head.

“Um hello….”

“P-please don’t eat me, I don’t taste good.”

“Wha…. I’m not hungry anyway, so what’s your name and why are you terrified half to death?”

“Y-you’re not going to eat me? B-but my cousins all said that other griffons would try and eat me up?”

“Why would other griffons try to eat you?”

“I-I’ve never really met other griffons, well other than my dad’s family…. So I just believe them because they were griffons and I’m a hippogriff.”

“A…. Hippo-griff? Okay that’s new, so what’s your name? And stop shaking.”

“O-Of course! Um I’m Galeyus Dusk, son of the head of science here. Professor Dusk, she’s my mother…. And you are?”

“Anubis, Anubis Grimgost…. today’s my first day here, so pleasure to meet you Galeyus.” I was cut off by a familiar voice calling my name.

“Anubis!!!! You’re here!!!!”

Spinning around to find Spring Torch running at me, i just stood there and watched as the mare slammed headfirst into my chest. “Morning Spring…. And ouch.”

She bounced back up and somehow managed to not drop her violin case. “Good morning to you too…. Oh hey Galeyus, looking good this morning.”

“T-thanks…. And um sorry but.” Spring cut him off.

“I would compliment you Anubis but the griffon princess would probably have me banished.”

“The what!!”

“Spring please, that’s meant to be on the low.”

“Oh sorry, so do you know what classes you are in?”

“Yeah…. I’ve got my timetable but I have no idea about where the classrooms are.”

“Um I’m sorry but…. Are we just gonna fffff….” Galeyus lost his voice when i looked at him.

“Go on, don’t stop.”

“F-forget about t-the fact that you’re huge, like scary huge.”

I just raised an eyebrow and a grin appeared on Spring’s muzzle, Galeyus tried to make himself smaller.

“Because I’m different from normal griffons, see I don’t have talons.” All of a sudden Galeyus lost all fear and grabbed my claws, inspecting them vigorously.

“Wow! Your forelegs have a muscle structure like nothing I’ve ever seen in a textbook, I need to ask my mum about this!”

“Heheheh and fear is replaced by fascination.”

“Anyway my first class is….” I checked the pocket watch Celestia had given him and the timetable. “Combined sciences in 10 minutes, any clue on where that is?”

“Oh! I’ve got that first too, I can show you the science block and help you look for the right class.”

“Sure, honestly I think they should have told me who my professors were before my first day.”

Meanwhile Captain Sky was fuming outside the castle gates, Anubis was meant to wait for her to take him to the campus grounds. She had a scroll with the classrooms and professors names on it which he was meant to have.

“That fricking griffon is so gonna get it!!! 1000 wing ups minimum!!!”

Anubis followed his new acquaintance who seemed way more comfortable with him, he didn’t mind his presence by any means. His only other male acquaintances who he actually went out of his way to speak with was Jernick, Graceful and Tender.

He had met with the two foals who he befriended when he first got here. But when they met, Twinkle and Rustic were shocked and immediately tried to use his wings as climbing equipment. So he had kept contact to a minimum.

“Anubis I’m going to ask my mum which class you’re in, so please wait here.”

“Got it.” He took a seat on the floor and waited, as he did a crowd began to form. Curious, confused and even some sour looks were being sent in his direction but he didn’t care.

Then a unicorn that was holding her head up way too high shot an unprovoked comment at him. “Argh, I only thought that thing Galeyus was allowed to attend because his mum worked here, now we got another wild animal on campus? Wait until my parents hear about this.”

Anubis chose to not bite back and continue to sit in silence, waiting. The other ponies began to back away, all looking uncomfortable with the situation.

“Be careful everypony, the security guard had to detain him a few months back. Clearly he might go feral.”

“Hey! That’s not true Frostlight Shiver!”

“It isn’t? So how come your mum sometimes has bite marks on her neck then? There’s clearly something wrong with the brain of a griffon.” Galeyus looked like he was about to cry but Anubis butted in before it went any further.

“Are you just going to spout nonsense or do you have anything of substance to say?”

“Excuse me? Do you know who you’re talking to?”

“No and to be frank, I don’t want to, thanks.” A collective gasp came from the crowd, even Galeyus had looked shocked.

“Psssss Anubis, she’s a noble!”

“Oh…. So the worst she can do is complain.”

“The worst I can do is have you kicked out of this house of learning, I could also have the princess remove your claws! So I would worry if I was you.”

Anubis began to giggle, he tried to suppress it but failed to do so. Everycreature looked at him as if he had gone mad. “I’m sorry to break it to you but no, just no. Although I wish you luck, just try not to lose too much sleep over it.” He walked past her and towards Galeyus. “So which class am I in?”

“Umm oh yeah, we’re in the same classroom and here’s a scroll with all of your classroom on it.”

“Thanks dude, so let’s go.”

Once they made it to their classroom, the professor greeted Anubis and told him to wait by his desk for everypony else to get settled in. He observed two ponies immediately go up to Galeyus and they pulled out some cards, Galeyus also got a deck of cards from his saddle bags.

He brushed it off as some kind of training card game and began to identify all the possible escape routes, once he finished that he began to look at all the ponies in the classroom.

“Okay, listen up everypony. We have a new student who will be studying with us, as you all can see he is a griffon.” The professor turned to him. “Go on and introduce yourself Grimgost.”

He nodded and took a step forward. “Hello everycreature, I’m Anubis Grimgost and I’m looking forward to conducting my studies with all of you, I hope that we all get along….” ‘I should probably add something more?’ “Does anycreature have any questions? Because I’m willing to answer 3.”

A lot of hooves went up and Anubis began to regret asking that, he assumed that because they were college students they wouldn’t be to interested. But he was wrong.

“You there, with the brown and white mane.”

“Why do you have your wings up like that?”

“Because it’s comfortable for me, next question…. You in the front row with the orange mane.”

“Are you single?”

“Uh…. No. So last question, mhmmmm you there at the back with the black mane.”

“Since you’re a griffon, why does Galeyus’s dad bite his wife?”

“Mhmmmm i can’t really answer that but I give my hen-friend love bites, which typically leaves a mark. If that helps?”

They all looked towards a very embarrassed Galeyus who was turning red whilst he tried to hide in a feathery cocoon.

“Okay okay everypony, that’s enough. So Anubis please take a seat wherever.”

“Sure.” He decided to take the empty seat next to a mare who was sat next to Galeyus but he ran into a problem, he didn’t fit on the college seats. So he just removed the seat and sat on the ground.

40 minutes later and the lecture about magical biology was finished, Anubis had vigorously wrote everything down. This was useful for him because he needed to understand how to allow his body to manage more magical power.

Galeyus was walking to his next class with his friends whilst Anubis took a look at his timetable, he saw that his next lesson was banking and economics that was located in the maths block across from the science block.

“Yo Galeyus, I’ll see you later and sorry. I didn’t mean to embarrass you.”

“Yeah it’s fine and okay see you later.”

Walking through the math block, looking for the classroom. He eventually found the right one and greeted the teacher who was a young looking mare who didn’t even bat an eye upon seeing him walk in.

Going through the same process of introducing himself to his fellow classmates and getting comfortable Anubis got straight to studying. The ponies ether side of him decided to strike conversation with him, to his dismay.

“So your name is Anubis…. That’s a cool name, does it mean anything from where you’re from?” The one asking the question was a larger than average Pegasus stallion with a red coat and white mane.

“Mhmmm yeah it does but I’d rather not say…. So what’s your name?”

Before the stallion could answer another voice butted in. “He’s Razor Wing but we just call him Wing and I’m Flame Sparkler, nice to meet you.”

Flame Sparkler was a tall yellow unicorn, who was way too touchy for Anubis’s liking. “Well it’s a pleasure to meet both of you.”

“She always interrupts me. So Anubis, do you like to fly?”

“Hey I do not Wing and of course he does, look at him….”

“Excuse me?”

“Sorry but don’t mind her, she’s a pervert but harmless.”

“Hey that’s not true.”

“Well to answer your question Razor, I do like to fly.”

“Sweet. So do you wanna have a race at lunch time?

“It’s a little on the beak but sure why not.”

“Oh yeah! I’m going to smoke you.”

“Ha not in any universe bud.” They were both grinning at each other.

“Oh you should meet our friend, he’s a hippogriff. A bit nerdy but still cool.”

“Yeah, we’ll meet up with him and maybe he’ll try to race.”

“Like Galeyus would do that.”

“Hey he might, as long as you don’t scare him off again.”

“Again?”

“It wasn’t that bad, I wasn’t thinking straight okay.”

“Yeah…. So she tried to kiss him but he wasn’t interested because he has a massive crush on.” Razor was cut off by a hoof in his mouth.

“Shut it idiot, we promise to not tell a soul.”

“Sorry….” Then all three of them stiffened up when the professor butted in.

“I hope you’re helping our new student with the material Razor, Flame?”

“Sorry miss Bank Books.”

Anubis found it funny but found it weird that they were immediately buddy buddy with him but if they knew Galeyus, then they can’t be that bad.

“Hey Anubis it’s lunch time, come hang with us. We’re going to the library, that’s where Galeyus is normally.”

“Okay I’ll follow, so why is Galeyus in the library?”

“Oh he’s probably playing his little card game with his other friends, Wing tried to play but he’s too stupid to understand it.”

“Hey! I’m not that dumb.”

“Hahahahah!”

Once they made it to the library and found the hippogriff concentrating intensely on the cards in front of him. Anubis immediately inspected the cards from a distance, he noticed that Galeyus was holding a bunch of cards. He had no idea what was going on, nor was he overly interested.

“Hey Galeyus.”

“Ah! Anubis, what are you doing here?” He nearly dropped his card but just managed to hold them.

Both, Flame and Razor Wing looked at Anubis in surprise.

“We’ve already met.”

After Galeyus finished his game with his pals, they made their way outside.

“So Anubis, when did you meet him?”

“Earlier todAY!!!!!!” They turned around to find a pegasus mare with Anubis’s tail in her mouth. “Sky! That hurt…. Sky?”

“I’ve been looking for you all day Anubis!!! And it’s Captain Sky to you!” He straightened up and gave a sharp salute, the others all froze up realising who the mare was.

Razor Wing’s mind was spinning at a million miles per hour whilst Anubis was being scolded by her.

“Look I’m sorry I forgot to meet you before college…. I also forgot my lunch, so I’ve got to head back to the castle. Do you want to accompany me? Unless you have some bits you could donate to the charity of my stomach?”

“You’re a bloody moron, yeah I’m heading in that direction anyway…. I don’t get paid enough to feed your appetite.” She jumped up and took off. “Just keep up Stud!”

“Ahh what?! Um sorry guys and gal, I need to go!”

“That lucky bastard….” Flame just patted him on his back and Galeyus just laughed softly.

Anubis was hot on Sky’s tail but no matter how hard he flapped his wings, it just wasn’t enough to pass her. They flew through the castle gates and Sky landed with a hint of elegance whilst Anubis wizzed past her.

CRASH!*

“Sigh* it’s a good thing you have a thick skull…. And can heal yourself.”

“Doesn’t mean it doesn’t still hurt, I know what death feels like without actually dying…. I already did that once, not that painful.” He mumbled that last sentence.

“Sorry what was that?” She shook her head. “Never mind, just get up before somecreature sees and reports that you’re injured to the princess.”

“Oh shit yeah!” Anubis shot up like a rocket and shook himself off before the blood on his forehead began to reverse its flow. “I’m good, so I need to get my lunch and go.”

“What? No you don’t, it’s college not school. Not to mention that you have music next and that doesn’t start until 1:30, I never knew you liked music?”

“Well yeah, I thought that it’ll be fun to serenade Celestia and Silver.”

“Ahh, so you do have a romantic side. Now don’t go and get distracted by other mares or hens but if you do, just make sure that your other two herd mates are aware and okay with it.”

“Okay I’m ambitious but not greedy, so relax. Not like they would even tolerate me messing around with any other mare or hen….”

“Mhmmm what about a dragoness…. Probably not, so how does it feel to be a royal stud?” She pressed a hoof against his beak and gave him a smug grin. “From what Princess Celestia said, you like to bite.”

“Cough* Cough* shut up, any louder and the whole castle will know.”

“Hahah what don’t they know? I mean the rumour for the past month has been about how hung you are.”

“Argh! Come on, I wasn’t thinking straight okay it just happened.”

“Are you sure you forgot your lunch or were you looking for something else?”

“Sigh* it was nice seeing you today Captain but good bye now.”

“Awwww have I hit the nail on the head?”

Anubis just covered his now blushing face from the Wonderbolt Captain and began walking towards the kitchen. She followed with an even bigger grin, until they bumped into Celestia. Her grin immediately faded and Anubis gained a little more bounce in his step.

“Swan neck! My love.”

“Oh Anubis, how’s your first day of college?”

“It’s been pretty good, I’ve made some friends.”

“Mhmmm are they all stallions? And Silver parents are coming in a few weeks.”

“Ha ha hah…. No but relax okay just theres only one mare, not including Spring Torch…. Wait what? In two weeks?”

“Just be careful around mares please. And yes in two weeks oh and here, Silver ate your lunch so I was quickly making you some more.”

“Wow Anubis, she’s not only beautiful but she can cook! You’d be an idiot to not marry her highness.”

“Oh heheheheh, believe it or not but I really enjoy cooking and Anubis loves food. So I’ve been reading some cookbooks from Griffonstone.”

“Heheh well I’ve heard that he himself is a great cook or that’s what Princess Silverfeather says.”

“Oh is that so? Anubis why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because it doesn’t matter that much, I mean I’m not as good as the castle chefs.”

“But it’s the thought that counts, my tea isn’t as good as yours but I still like making it. I’ve even tried to copy your blend but it’s just not the same.”

“Sorry but it’s a family secret my dear.”

“Heheheh that’s why I’m going to keep you around until you marry me.”

“Well what if I just stay as your griff-friend forever?”

“That’s fine by me, I mean all I have to do is ask for some.”

“Well played swan neck, so what have you made me? It smells good.”

“Oh it’s a cheese omelette with a side of chicken and rice…. But I’m not sure I did it right so here you are.”

“Wait chicken? Isn’t that like cannibalism?”

“I’m not actually an overgrown chicken! And if it is, then I’m a cannibal because it smells good.”

“Heheheheh yeah I was also shocked to discover that griffons eat chicken, Anubis has eaten boar before.”

“That’s just wrong….”

“Hell no! That’s nature, the circle of death or was it life? Can’t remember, I was so young….” He took a fork and scooped a bit of chicken and rice into his beak. “Mhmmmmmm oh my god, Fffuck me that’s good! Nah you need to try some Celestia, for me?”

“Um I don’t think I should Anubis, I’m a herbivore.”

“Yeah but biologically speaking, herbivores still can consume meat on occasion.”

“Even if it might be true, I don’t like meat.”

“Have you ever had any before.”

She just giggled and gave him a smirk. “Oh Anubis, we need to talk about your behaviour. I mean you try to shove meat down mine and Silver’s throats at every opportunity you get.”

“Yeah and? You and Silver love my meat. So what difference does a bit of chicken make, just try it.”

“Ah okay I’ll be taking my leave now princess, bye Anubis have fun.”

“Bad griff…. So it’s good?” She scraped her hoof on her foreleg and Anubis saw a side of his normally confident and calm mare-friend that surprised him, she was all bashful.

“Y-yeah….” She looked at him and he scrambled to compose himself, Celestia just tilted her head.

“That wasn’t a very sure yes?”

“Sorry, it’s just that you looked so cute when you’re all uncertain…. Not that I don’t like that you’re certain about most things, hahahahh….”

“Heheheh so you like when I’m not sure? Why’s that Anubis, do you like taking the lead? Because I know I like you leading.”

“Same here but it seems I only get to lead in the bedroom.”

“Well we both know why that is my apex predator.”

“….”

The silence was loud enough to hear and Celestia had turned beet red from embarrassment, Anubis just had his beak hanging wide open from shock.

“No, that’s illegal to say. No, for that you need to try some chicken.”

“What? Why are you so incessant about having me eat chicken?”

“Because you have fangs, well not now but that one time when you were super mad. Your eyes became slitted and orange, as well as your mane was smoking and your fangs appeared.” Her eyes widened but she quickly composed herself, Anubis noticed this but stayed silent about it.

“Look okay, I’ll try a little but I’m not going to like it.”

“Mhmm you’d be surprised, here.”

She took the fork in her magic and gave the chicken an experimental nibble. She pulled back and looked at it with an aura of conflicted morals before putting the whole piece in her mouth, where she happily chewed away.

“Told you so.”

“Mmmm oh shush.”

“I’m just full of great ideas, like a never ending factory of brilliance.”

“Okay it’s good but not a word to anypony or griffon….”

“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t but I need to finish this and get going…. I also need to get that violin as well.”

“No problem, here.” She gave him the fork back and teleported away and came back with a violin case, she gave him it and stole another piece of chicken before giving him a kiss.

“Hey my lunch….”

“Anyway I’m leaving now Anubis, love you and stay safe.”

“I love me too Celestia and I will don’t worry, I’ll be home at 4-ish okay.”

“Okay, then if you’re not back at 5 I’ll assume the worst.”

“And what’s the worst?”

“Either you’ve been foalnapped or murdered.”

“What? No, I could just be out socialising.” Now they were both grinning.

“Why would you want to socialise with others when you could just relax with me?”

“Because theres not much relaxing with you Swan neck.”

“Hehehe you’re loss then.” And she walked out of the kitchen swaying her hips.

“Curse that mare and her flanks…. But as much as I want to, I have something to deal with first.” He opened the violin case and inside was an untouched, beautifully crafted violin and bow but Anubis took them out and removed the padding.

Underneath it was a needle and a vial of light blue liquid with a large skull and cross bones on it. After checking it was all there he put everything back and flew out of the nearest window back to college. It so happens that his new target lives near the college and was enjoying her day off, the target was lady Charity Pot and Anubis had been observing her behaviour patterns for a month now.

At 3:40 she will take her afternoon bath and be at her most vulnerable, that was when he’d strike. He had noticed that the brand of shampoo she used had a certain chemical in it that would make it nearly impossible to tell what killed her.

But right now he needs to get to his music class.

He arrived just before the class started and Spring Torch Immediately greeted him with a smile. “Hey Anubis! Come sit next to me!”

The others laughed at her antics but Anubis just went over to the teacher and greeted him. After introducing himself, he sat down next to Spring and she immediately started explaining how to read sheet music to him. But he just had a lost expression painted on his face. “Look I know it’s complicated but until you can understand how to read it, you can’t play music.”

“Hey I’m sure you could teach me how to play without having to teach me to read this confusing language?”

“Huff* well that’s too bad, just practice going through the notes Anubis.”

“Sigh* fine mum….” Over a few painful hours had passed and Anubis was a little better, Spring found it amusing that he was really trying but still struggled with distinguishing the different notes.

Anubis and Spring were both walking out of classroom, one of them had an annoyed look on his face whilst the other giggled.

“Trust me, you’ll get the hang of it. It is your first day after all, so don’t look so annoyed.”

“Huff* easy for you to say, if i want to decipher silly symbols then i would have studied archaeology.”

“Heheheh, anyway I’ve got to meet up with my friends. So see you tomorrow and stop pouting.”

“I’ll consider it and see you tomorrow!” He watches as the mare ran off and Anubis’s annoyed expression faded and was replaced with a small grin as he looked at the pocket watch and grabbed his violin case. Using his hind legs to jump up into the air, he took flight and immediately darted off to the east.

As he flew, his fur and feathers quickly turned into a brilliant white whit light blue accents but he kept his size and eyes the same. Thanks to the training that Captain Sky had given him, Anubis was able to avoid being detected or noticed in broad daylight.

Once he got to his target’s house Anubis folded his wings and began to scale the left side of the building leaving his belongings in a bush, using his scythe like bone blades for extra stability. Upon reaching the fourth floor bathroom window that was typically open, he slinked in and snaked his way toward the tub.

He slipped himself under the blanket of bubbles.

But then the door flung open and from the description, lady Charity Pot walked in. He stopped breathing and waited for her to get into the tub before he struck, the needle ready in one of his claws.

She threw a towel off her back and slowly lowered herself into the pre-made bubble bath, completely unaware of the danger lurking under the surface.

“Ahhhhh this it just was I needed, I really don’t spoil myself enough.”

“Don’t spoil yourself enough? You have a luxurious bubble bath every day.”

“Who’s thERE? Mmmmmmmmmm! Mmmmmmm!” He sprung up and pushed her down underneath, her hooves were striking out in a panicked flurry.

“Sorry but this is only the beginning.” He wrapped his claws around her muzzle and pulled her out, she was desperately trying to take in oxygen but her attacker knew what he was doing.

Making sure that she only got enough to stay conscious but simulate suffocation, the mare looked at him with fear. Then Anubis slowly pulled the needle up and her eyes widened as she saw it, panic and terror took over and tears began to stream down her damp face. She tried to brake away from him but when that was hopeless, she gave up and stopped.

“Don’t worry, it’ll only be agonising for a few seconds.”

She just stared at the needle as it got closer and closer to her, the point pressed against her chest and she shivered from the contact. Applying pressure, it pierced her skin and Anubis emptied the contents of the needle into her.

“Mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!” Her pupils turned to pinpricks as pain ravaged her entire body, tears streaming and she began to involuntarily convulse from the pain.

The emotionless griff just stared at her as pain, terror and horror slowly passed and became a lifeless expression.

Climbing out and using a neat little spell that Celestia had taught him to dry himself off, Anubis jumped from the window and grabbed his stuff before taking off with no creature ever knowing that he was here.

An hour later Anubis landed outside on the balcony of Celestia’s private study, the regal Alicorn and Silverfeather were both in there. He could see that they were in the middle of a lecture, that from what he could hear was important.

So he laid down and got comfortable just watching them, he had lost track of time and dozed off. He was woken up by a certain hen that didn’t have the strength to drag him inside.

“Yawn* no, I don’t want to get up….”

“Huff* fine then, oh Celestia~ we have a tired Nubie and he needs to go on a diet.”

“Heheheheh, that’s fine…. So will you join me for a nice hot bath Silver, there’s a spot on my lower back I just can never reach.”

“Oh of course Celestia but only if you help preen my wings.”

“Okay let’s go.” As they both were about to walk off, the sleeping giant awoke and briskly walked up next to them. Wrapped a wing around both of their barrels, Celestia and Silver giggled at his sudden enthusiasm.

“Well ladies, what are we waiting for? I want to see some mare on hen action, so forward march!”

“Now we know what motivates him, it’s going to be easer to get him to do what we want Celestia.”

“If only it was that simple….”

“I’m always motivated, there are just different levels of my motivation…. And stop walking so slow!” Anubis decided that they were doing it on purpose and took the initiative.

“I can’t wait anymore.” He slipped under Celestia and lifted her onto his back, then he grabbed Silver by the scruff of her neck. They were both in shock but didn’t complain about it one bit. “You two can’t promise me a show and make me wait a million years for the bloody thing.”
