The psychotic gentlegriff

The sun was just rising when Silver Blood had exited the Canterlot general post office, under orders from Anubis the soulless mare had sent him 3000 bits and a list of corrupt nobles that potentially needed the chop.

She knew exactly where he was thanks to Zodiacrdanals and had a Pegasus hoof deliver the parcel to him with haste, the address was the home of Captain Sky and Blazing.

She had been siphoning a few hundred bits a day into an account that the griff had access to, it was one of the first orders he had given her. The second was to clean up her businesses and notify him about any nobles that were planning anything remotely criminal.

Anubis had taken great joy from discovering that the majority of the noble cast had come to hate his guts.

But with his puppet’s status he was able to get almost every bit of information and evidence he needed to back them up into a corner and manipulate them when the time was right.

The soulless Princess in title alone knew that the contents of the letter would spark her master’s interest.

Meanwhile in the castle.

Celestia monotonously rose the sun and began getting ready to start the day, she had sent a notice to all neighbouring cities and towns in hopes that one of the guards there would find him.

She had ordered that they not approach him and if they must, then they are to be as none aggressive as possible so Anubis doesn’t flee away or do something rash.

She had gotten very little sleep the previous night, Silver tried to help after the doctors all confirmed that she was virus free. But Celestia insisted that she just get some rest and stop worrying about her, weirdly enough the hen didn’t even seem fazed by the shocking revelation that Anubis was a biomancer.

Silver wasn’t even worried when the Alicorn told her that Anubis had ran away and was still missing, at best she was annoyed.

All Celestia wanted to do was fly out her balcony window and search for her griff-friend and fix this whole mess but she had duties.

She couldn’t shake the thought of Anubis sleeping in a cold damp alley with nothing but his fur and feathers to keep him warm.

Meanwhile in Cloudsdale.

Anubis awoke with a snoring Blazing drooling all over his wing. The griff took great offence to this and tossed the sleeping mare off him.

Thud*

“Ouch! What was that for?”

“I’m not a pillow.”

“Then why are you so soft and fluffy….” She grumbled out.

Taking himself up stairs and sneakily looking for the bathroom, trying his best not to wake up Sky. It didn’t take long for him to locate it and take care of his business.

He was about to go into the kitchen when a knocking at the door made him spin around and answer it.

“Hello who’s there?”

“It’s a package for Mr Grimgost.”

“Oh, um thanks.” He took the package and closed the door, heading into the kitchen he sat down and opened the parcel.

Inside was a pouch containing 30, one hundred bit coins and a list and letter from Princess Silver Blood.

After realising that she knew of his location a shiver went down his spine but then again he did basically control her indirectly, so it made sense.

The contents of the letter informed Anubis that some of the nobles are funding a group of smugglers, his first thought was that they would be acceptable test subjects. His second thought was how could he foalnap the smugglers without being caught by Celestia’s guards.

“I’m gonna have to put more time into planning this, sigh* how boring.” He folded the letter and list up, ignited his claws and burned them. He knew that he’d remembered everything but if he didn’t, then his soulless puppet would.

Grabbing a frying pan and making some pancake batter, Anubis got to work making breakfast. The aroma of fresh pancakes and fresh fruit woke a groggy Blazing and she quite literally floated into the kitchen and got seated.

“So why aren’t you and Sky up early today?”

“Oh because we get a month off, we do training and shows all year round and get the month off.”

“Oh okay that makes sense, so you two have anything planned?”

“Nah.”

“Mhmmmmm might I interest you in a proposal, I want to head to the south continent and need a team to help me. I’ve got everything prepared for the expedition but it’s all near Canterlot, so we’d have to retrieve it at sun down. So you in?”

With her mouth agape and a piece of pancake hanging out she answered. “That sounds cool…. But we’d have to convince Sky but just so we’re clear about this, it isn’t something that could land us in hot water with the princess and I’m not going to have to report you to her highness. Am I?”

“No…. I’ve read all the laws and what I’ve done isn’t illegal by any means and if anything, she’d probably want me to have some form of protection.”

“Then if it’s going to be fun, I’m in.”

“Good but I’m going to need a disguise if I’m to stay low, mhmmmmm oh i know! I’ll disguise myself as a small white hen with black accents and blue eyes, yeah that’ll work.”

“Cough* Cough* what?!?”

Anubis just raised an eyebrow. “Yeah so I don’t get recognised, I think I’ve earned some time away and I’d rather not have to deal with her yet.”

“I…. Kinda see your point, sometimes me and Sky need some space but that’s love…. So can i watch the transformation?”

“If you want, it’s a bit weird to watch but not gross or gory by any means.”

“So how does the changing of your sex work?”

“That doesn’t matter and I’m not fully converting myself, just my outward appearance.”

“Oh that sucks, I wanted you to experience losing your mare-hood or in your case, hen-hood.”

“Fuck off.”

The two got interrupted by Sky who had appeared at the table from thin air, this made both of them jump slightly.

“What the heck Sky!?!?”

“Bloody hell!? So I see your getting used to your soul technique then, would have given me a heart attack if I could have one….”

“Yawn!* sorry but I couldn’t resist, it’s just too fun.” She beamed.

“Huff* so when do I get a cool power?”

“It’s not a power, it’s soul magic. To be fair I don’t even need to give a soul technique to you, I could just allow your body to use soul magic and make its own.”

“Pfffff nah I want a technique thingy.”

“Fair enough, I already have one in mind that’ll suit you.”

“Yeah! What is it?” Excitement in her voice.

“In a minute, so Sky I take it you already know what i asked your mare-friend?”

“Yes I did and I’m not entirely on board but you had some good points, if her highness finds out that you went anywhere dangerous without protection she’ll certainly lose her cool.”

“So you’re going to be coming, good and now for what I had in mind for Blazing’s soul technique. I was thinking something that converts your soul magic into a concentrated flame on your hooves.”

“Yes!!! That sounds awesome! Eeeeeeeeeeeeee! I want that please!!!!!!” She was almost about to shoot off her chair.

“Okay okay relax, before you break something…. Now give me your hoof.” She happily did so and Anubis began the process, he still doesn’t know how he’d learnt to do it but it was a new type of magic for him to explore.

This only helped to fuel his desire to acquire the last Necrovine artefact, not only so he can tinker with soul magic properly but so he can give or make Eclipse an actual soul. He hadn’t really given it too much thought on the details but he’ll find a way, somehow.

After Anubis tinkered with Blazing’s soul and gave her the soul technique, she immediately used her hybrid wings to fly out the back door and get acquainted with her new abilities.

Sky followed her and just smiled lovingly at her mare-friend’s excitement, Anubis initially believed that she’d be a bit jealous but was pleasantly surprised.

With both of them busy, the large griffon took himself upstairs and into the bathroom. He was going to transform himself.

The sensation was a little more that uncomfortable when he changed his sex and the rest of the changes were more than easy but the only thing he couldn’t change was the deep scar going around his neck that Celestia would find herself more often then not tracing with her muzzle.

“Grrrrrrrrr* I should be able to get rid of it completely. So why can’t I?!” His voice was substantially more feminine than before.

Looking himself or herself over in the mirror Anubis gave a solid nod at the white hen with black tipped feathers and talons. The griffon kept the large ears and lengthen the hear like feathers on top of his head, so they cascaded down to the shoulders.

Anubis was a quarter of his original size and had a waste slightly thinner than Silver’s.

Happy with his results, he or she for the time being exited the bathroom and made her way downstairs.

Upon walking out to the garden, Sky and Blazing froze in wonder.

“Fuck you’re hot….”

“T-that is still you Anubis?”

“Yes it’s me Sky and thanks for the compliment Blazing, so how are you getting on with your soul technique?”

“Oh yeah! Really good actually but…. Um do you have any settings other than hot?”

“I mean it’s soul fire, so no.”

“Not my soul fire, I meant you! You’re sexy as fuck dude!”

“Oh! Um probably, if I’m too hot I’ll just draw unwanted attention.”

“Don’t you dare! I was just curious…. I mean you’re cheating technically.”

“Yeah I sort of am but it’s not intentional, if that makes sense?”

“That sucks….”

“I second that, you cheating scumbag.” Sky says with a smirk. “Some of us have to work for our figures.”

“Oh shut up, so are you ready to start heading to Canterlot?”

“Yeah let’s go right now!!” Blazing cheers.

“Wait! Are you sure you’re gonna be able to make it? I mean with your smaller frame and wings.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. In fact I’m lighter than before but just as strong, so it’ll be easier for me so can we go now?”

Both Anubis and Blazing rounded on Sky with teary puppy dog eyes.

“Uuugh fine, let’s go then.”

They both jumped up and cheered. “Yaaaaaaaay!!!!”

With in the hour, Sky and Blazing are locking up their house. The group of Two mares and one hen take flight, passing the cloud factory which Anubis nearly crashed into. They were now on open wines and soaring above the clouds themselves, being carried by the high winds.

A few hours later and the capital city of Equestria was now in sight, the two Wonderbolt’s follow the griff turned hen down the side of the city and behind the magnificent waterfall that cascaded from the mountain topped city.

They were unsure but once they landed in an oddly well lit cave, Sky and Blazing was stunned by the almost alien sight before them.

“Anubis?! What in the Tartarus is this?! Does her highness know about this?!?”

“Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! Any bloody louder and she will, sigh* I’m going to show her but I want it to be a surprise.”

“…Anubis…. This is crazy, what is all this stuff and how did you even find the time?”

“When~ your mare-friend is busy for most of the day, you kinda find a way to pass the time….”

“But y-you started college?” Sky said with an exasperated look on her muzzle.

“Yeah but I finish at 2:30 whilst Celestia starts the paperwork that keeps Equestria working at 2:45, she finishes at 5 and I go and give her some much needed attention…. But sometimes I don’t get to come down here and Swan neck and the Nimrod just want to relax.”

“What are you? I’m the Captain of the fucking Wonderbolts but even I don’t manage my time like that! You actually got some screws loose Anubis.”

“Huff* there’s nothing wrong with my mental state…. Oh and please don’t touch anything, some of my projects are not finished and might explode if disturbed.” Anubis shot a glare at Blazing as she was about to poke a tank of acid with a hoof.

“Oooookay I won’t touch anything Anubis….” She frowned. “Hmmmmmm you need a new name.”

“Mmmmmm sigh* I guess so but what?”

“Oh i know!”

“No!” Both Anubis and Sky coldly stated.

Sky began. “I good name for this disguise would be…. Sharped Shade.”

“That’s a really…. Pony-ish name, I don’t know?”

“Well you’re white and black, you have sharp talons too. But I honestly prefer the claws.”

“Oh that’s a good name, you are now Sharped Shade.”

Anubis just shrugged his shoulders. “Guess that’s my name now.”

At that exact moment a set of iron sights was carefully hovering over Anubis’s head, the shooter let out a breath and.

BANG!!!*

Splat*

Thud*

Sky and Blazing let out a blood curdling scream, Anubis’s body hit the ground and was completely motionless.

Then an unfamiliar individual walked out of the shadows with a long stick that red smoke billowed from one end, both Sky and Blazing took an offensive stance. Then the mysterious figure took off the mask and odd looking earmuffs to reveal Princess Silverfeather sporting a wide grin.

“Y-you k-killed Anubis?!?!”

“Wha…. Oh that was Anubis? I thought that was just some home wrecker, although he definitely deserves it. Celestia has been losing sleep over the whole situation from yesterday….”

“B-but you killed him?!?!” Blazing yelled out.

“Ugh fffffuck~, shit that hurt.” Both mares go pale upon seeing the dead body of a female Anubis get up. Grrrrrrrr, Silver did you not hear Sky and Blazing speaking?!”

“Nope I had the noise cancelling ear protection up to max, so I was basically deaf…. But you still deserved that, Celestia has been worried sick about you! You need to tell her that you’re fine, now!”

“Sigh* no not right now, I’m going to the south continent…. Would you like to come?”

“Anubis!!! She needs you!”

“No, she needs to understand that I can protect myself. Hell she has half the entire guard looking for me!”

“She’s just a bit overwhelmed with discovering that her griff-friend is a biomancer! Just go see her and explain that you’re going to the southern continent with two trusted members of the Wonderbolt’s. OH AND YOU SHOULD MAKE SURE SHE’S OKAY!!!!!”

“Like she would let me.” Giving a cold glare at the similar sized hen but his gaze softened. “Sigh* I really should, shouldn’t I…. Heheh, I think this is one of the rare occasions where you have a good idea Silver.”

“So you’ll go and speak things out with her?” She had a hopeful glint in her eyes.

“I will and I’ll show her all of this shit I’ve been making down here but I’m fly her in, I’m not showing the secret passageways…. If she finds out that I’ve been taking some of her special chocolate cakes, she’ll kill me.”

“You’ve been doing what?!?” Silver streaked out.

Sky was getting annoyed with the two hens ignoring her, Blazing just watched with unbridled enthusiasm.

“HEY!!!!!!! You two better not of forgotten about us!” Both hens stopped and snapped their heads to face the now Captain mode Sky. “Anubis stop stealing the princess’s chocolate cakes and Princess Silverfeather stop yelling!”

“Yes ma’am.” Came from both griffons.

“Good, now you.” She pointed at Anubis with a hoof. “Change your form and go make up with her highness! Tartarus knows that she has enough to deal with, she doesn’t need to be thinking that she’s made you run away!”

“Gulp* o-okay Captain Sky.” And with that Anubis flew into a dimly lit corner, when he walked out he was back to normal.

“Please don’t touch anything whilst I’m gone….” Spreading his wings and getting ready to pounce into the air, inadvertently grabbing the attention of all in the make shift airship hanger.

Blazing let out a low whistle whilst Sky made a poor attempt to cover her eyes with a wing, peeking through the feathery appendage. Silver just covered her beak, a trickle of red stained her talons.

Then with one mighty flap, Anubis shot through the waterfall and was gone.

“…so…. What was the thing you used to attack your mate princess?” A now curious Sky asked.

Anubis’s POV

I flew through the waterfall and shot up over the wall that kept the high winds out of the streets, Now gliding toward the castle Anubis started to think about what he was going to say to Celestia.

But nothing came to mind and he was now having second thoughts but it was too late to turn back, as the griffon subconsciously slowed down and glided to the front gates, royal guards flanked him on both sides trying to catch his attention.

Not paying attention to where he was going, Anubis flew head first into the large iron portcullis. All ponies in view winced upon seeing the large griff slam his head and fall to the ground with a thud.

“Excuse me, mr Grimgost but are you okay?” One of the guards guarding the gate asked.

“Fffffffffff~ yeah I’m fine just dazed.” ClimbIng back to his claws Anubis shook the dizziness from his head.

Once the gate was opened raised the thoroughly embarrassed griff rushed in and made his way inside. he knew that the solar Alicorn would just be finishing day court, so he decided to wait in her study whilst a guard went to alert Celestia.

Every cell in his body was screaming at him that this was an awful idea but despite himself, he sat patiently preening with self destructive recklessness.
