It all happened so fast...
No one had been expecting it to happen, no one ever thought that it would happen.
It began with the moon.
It was something noticed by every International space station in the world, the moon was getting closer to earth.
Despite countless theories and hypothesis, no one had an explanation why it was happening, it was like it just started moving on its own.
This of course caused unease and rumors to spread amongst the populus.
Most assumed it was the work of aliens, some said it was an omen that symbolized the end, and everyone in-between were either to important with themselves, work, or just generally didn't give a shit.
The moon didn't stop moving for six days, and six nights. On the seventh day, the moon returned to circling the earth, peacefully.
Only it was 119,450 miles closer than it had been a week ago.
This left the world at a standstill, no one did anything but track what was going on with the moon.
For two whole days, the people who cares about it, watched the lunar spheres activity.
Most began to dismiss it as a natural phenomena.
Others worried that the moon would crash Into the earth.
The usual busy hustle and bustle returned to the cities, towns, and streets of the world on the third day since the occursion.
Everyone began to let their guard down....they were fools.
They came in the night, and with them, they brought fallout.

Twenty five minutes before fallout

"yawn, ugh, why is there nothing good on" I say frustratedly clicking through the channels.
I was sitting alone in the TV room to me and my roommates apartment.
Speaking of my roommate.
"What's taking them so long?"
They were supposed to have gone out to grab a few pizzas for our moon celebration monster movie night, but apparently it must be a busy night at the pizza joint we usually order from.
Cuz they were talking foreveeeeeeeeerrr!
I kept violently clicking until I caught a clip from a movie I knew. Clicking back a few channels, I find a station that it was playing John Carpenter's "The Thing", it was playing the opening credits, which means I finally found a movie to kill some time watching.
My roommate Nix still hadn't shown up, and I was already through the beginning of the movie.
"I'm kinda starting to get worried...." I say thinking out loud.
I unfocused myself from the movie and think to myself for a minute before coming to a decision.
I pick up my phone and unlock it, but as I'm about to go send a message to Nix, until I felt the building shake, followed by my lights going out, my tv was apparently fine though, as it continued the movie.
I Sat there frozen, holding my breath as I listen around for any other tremors, but thankfully it was silent. I slowly stand up and walk over to the closet doorway next to me, being cautious incase the supports in the floor came loose.
When I finally got to the door way I leaned against the frame and looked back to my phone to call Nix.
As I was about to hit call however, I noticed my entire TV had started to glow a mixture of a gold and white aura like light.
The outlet where the TV was plugged into sparked and the TV turned off, then back on again. Although instead of "The Thing" playing, it looked like live footage from helicopter footage, with the local New's logo in the bottom corner.
It was hovering around a sphere of bright white light that suddenly bursted and faded away to reveal two...horses? No, they were to small to be horses, maybe...ponies?
They also had wings and horns, so maybe... whatever the fuck else?
They were on a large, crystal platform that looked like it was floating a good 500 feet above a town not to far from our apartment complex.
"What. the. fuck.?" I ask under my breath.
I straightened myself up and slowly walked over to the TV. As I did so, I noticed a few other things about the wing-a-corn's, mainly the fact that one was weight with ethereal rainbow hair, regal gold armor and a greatsword, and the other being slightly smaller, blue with ethereal star hair, black armor and a scythe.
I stared at the pega-corns with my mouth agape, then look to where I was sitting on the couch.
"Shiiiiiiiiit...was that joint laced!?" I say looking back to the TV.
Another thing that I noticed about them is that they had like, real life big anime eyes.
They looked like they were supposed to be cute, but when I looked into their eyes, it filled me with a sense of dread.
"I don't like where this is going"
I was cutoff however as the wight horse apparently began to speak.
I shit you not, the horse was talking.
" Denizens of the planet Earth!" she spoke with the volume of a high explosion. I grabbed my ears and backed up from the TV. I quickly grabbed the remote and turned down the volume.
great, now my ears are ringing
I checked to see if I could still hear by snapping by my ear, resulting in (thankfully) positive results.
"At least she didn't burst my eardrums" I say to myself.
I look back to the TV to see the wight horse continuing her speech.
Yea I said her, I mean I'm guessing it's a her from how her voice sounded.
"I am Princess Celestia Morningstar of Equestria!" she shouted once more to the cameras.
After Princess Celestia introduced herself, the smaller one introduced herself as well.
"I am Princess Luna Nightshade of Equestria "
Those names sounded so familiar to me for some reason, but I couldn't remember for the life of me why.
Celestia then continued speaking to the helicopter camera's.
"We have seen the cruelty, pain, destruction, and disharmony that has infected this world, and we have come to end it! she said calmly, yet boisterously.
Her voice was so motherly and calm, yet, something about the way she spoke made my chest feel cold, and tight.
Suddenly princess Luna's horn grew a dark blue color, before shifting to a dark silver and blasting up into the sky. The next second latera silver glow crawled through the Windows.
Moving to the window closest to me, I look to where the light was coming from.
The moon was covered in a dark silver aura that gave off an erie bright glow.
The aura around the moon then converged into a circular transcription, something that kinda looked like a....
"Is that-?" I say making my way from the window to my room in hurry.
I start to comb through the bookshelf along the side of my room.
"Shit, where did I put you?" I mutter to myself as I scan the rows of books of wicca, witchcraft, shamanism, and magic, but to no avail.
"I swear to the Asier I better not have lost you" I curse myself.
I then came across a book spine with not title, and mentally cross my fingers.

I pull out the book, the cover revealing that the books title was "Umbarum Liber".
"Thank the gods" I say as I rush back to the window.
I open the book to a particular chapter and started to comb through the pages, until I found what I was looking for.
It was a Transmutation Circle.
Looking back to the moon, I had failed to notice that it went from a dark silver, to a light turquoise like glow.
"I really don't like this" I say backing away from the window.
My attention was grabbed as I heard Celestia speak again on the TV.
" Humanity will no longer be cruel, we will save you from yourselves!" she then started charging up her horn, and it looked like it was for something big.
I didn't stick around to find out as I sprinted back to my room.
I quickly grabbed a large rolled up mat, a large container of salt, a bag of special candles, and sage.
After confirming I had all the ingredients I needed, I hauled ass to the living room and spread out the mat, revealing itself to be a pentacle with a circle on each point, as well as two large circles on each side of the center.
In a hurry, I then shakily pour a solid, unbroken ring of salt around the mat, and tossed the container aside.
Grabbing my bag I take out 5 special candles and place them in each circle on the points of the star.
I reach Into the bag for the small bottles of herbs, only to note there not there.
"Shit, Nix must have been messing with my stuff again" I say in annoyance.
Looking to the TV, it looked like Celestia was almost finished with her (what he was hoping was) spell.
I'm just gonna have to improvise with what we got I say as I run to the kitchen to grab whatever I could use.
"Bay leaf... cinnamon..... lavender...screw it, its what I got" I say grabbing the ingredients and bum rush back to the pentacle.
I place each ingredient in each one of the large circles, I was still missing one thing though.
"Shit, the book!" I exclaim as I bum rush back to my room.
of course I had to set it down and forget about it, I need to stop smoking so much I reprimand myself
guilt trip later, protection barrier now
It didn't take me to long however as I rush back to the living with the book in hand.
As I passed the main doorway though, Nix finally decided to come home.
"Hey dude, check out the moo-" they started
"No time! Get in the living room!" I shouted as I lit the sage and begin the spell.
"Ad Muriae regna, mitto preces, Te peto, a te, Tutela et salus omnia-"
"What's going on?" Nix asks cutting off the spell
I hold up a finger to them and finish reading
"-In hoc anulo condita, Veni, a regnis tuis, Tuum fer, me salvum serva!" I say slamming my book closed and looking to
"Nix you need to-" suddenly, there was a loud boom. We both yelped and covered our ears, and started to massage them to get them to stop ringing.
Suddenly, Nix starts talking to grab my attention.
"Dude..." Nix simply states with a worried expression on their face.
They then pointed out one of the windows and continued.
"What's that?" They asked worriedly.
I look to where they were pointing and saw that a wall of bright rainbow light was speeding at us.
I quickly turn my head back to Nix.
"Quick, get in the-!" I was unfortunately able to finish my sentence, as the wall of light slammed right into us. In a matter of seconds, it went from rainbow, to white, and then to black.
All I could hear was my roommate screaming as I faded Into unconsciousness.

Boom! That was the first chapter of "Earth to Equis", I still got more planned for this story.
