It was maybe a day or two after I got the invitation to the gala . I noticed that all of my friends were holding similar pieces of parchment, they noticed me from across the town center and all 6 of them trotted over and started talking to me.

“We’re sorry,Anon , If it would've been possible we would have gotten you a invitation as well, but the committee ensured us that all of the spots were already filled” Twilight said with a slightly sad face

“Oh! You don't have to worry about that , I will be attending the gala anyways” I said holding out the piece of parchment I received.

“That’s Amazing!” all 6 of them exclaimed , but then the curiosity set in

They read it further and asked “Why have you been requested to tag-along with Princess Luna?”
Then you told the the story of what happened a few nights ago, they all stared at me, all except Twilight who had a bit of a grin on her face

“Anon, I don't know why you would even be surprised at this , considering the way she talks about you in the castle” she said with a giggle

Everyone including me looked at her in shock as she explained further

“Ever since you got here and I have visited the castle, she frequently brings you up in conversation , it's like she is obsessed with you and cant admit it to herself” “She is also definitely in a much better mood than before, which is a plus if you ask me” Twilight finished off as everyone looked at me and I paused

“Im not exactly sure at what you are getting, Twilight” I said with a confused look

she giggled again "I wouldn't think too much of it Anon, just be respectful to her and show her a good time "

“Yeah, That shouldn't be too hard considering she's a princess" I sarcastically said while I rolled my eyes

“Sweetheart, I'm sure you will find a way through it, and I'm sure she would appreciate it if you show her the same compassion that she showed you” Rarity added

“Yeah I guess Ill take into account what Twilight said and not think about it too much”

"Good Plan" they all said in syncrosin as they all trotted away

…

It was finally December and it was time to get in serious business, I had to pick up my order of fancy attire for the event from Rarity. I helped Applejack prepare her goods for the stand she was setting up, all that was left was just to wait for the day to finally arrive. And it did , faster than I thought. I was planning on just departing Ponyville via train with my friends, until I looked up into the sky and saw an open hatch carriage that was decorated with art of different stars and constellations. I then direct My attention to the mare that was inside the carriage , it was Luna… I stood there in awe for a second until I regained my senses and cracked a smile.

“Hello Anon!” she spoke out as the carriage descended onto the ground and the stallions carrying it regained their footing .

I waved to her as she stepped out and she greeted me with a gentle hoof wrap around my neck, I obligatorily bowed down and she giggled a bit.

“Care to take a ride with me back to Canterlot?” She asked
“I would love to, Luna” I said trying to ensure her request on how to address her

She steps back into the carriage and directs me to go inside as well. As we start the ascent , I notice my friends waving me goodbye while all trying to hold in their giggles, I smile and wave back as I direct my attention to the mare that is right across from me.

Her dress perfectly parallels her mane and fur colors, it is almost just as ethereal with its different shades of purple , and it perfectly matches her greenish-blue eyes as well. I sit there In silent awe .

we both sit in silence for a few minutes until Luna decides to break it

“You look very handsome today, Anon” She says in a more casual manner

“And you look very very beautiful ,Luna, I am glad I am getting to spend the Gala with you this evening” I say trying not to show how confused I was and awkward I felt at the moment

She perks up at this remark, then calms down then smiles

“I wouldn't want it any other way” she says while looking you straight in the eyes with a deep hearty expression

The carriage Descends onto an amazingly lit Canterlot , where you are both dropped off on a balcony of the castle . Its almost humorous, you can legitimately hear from down the hall the rush the ponies are making into finishing off the last few details of the event planning.

You and Luna look at each other and both smile,

This is gonna be the best night ever .
