A burst of black swirls and smoke, the King growled loudly, glaring off at nothing with gritted teeth. How humiliating this was to a king, being defeated by two ponies, and home décor. He had not returned to avenge his empire, his family, only to be defeated by not just the Elements of Harmony, but each of the ponies individually.
But he could get up after a fight, nothing can keep him down. It’s the unified power of the elements that he needed to stop before they came to their senses.
Before he loses everything forever.
The sixth sense of magic drew his attention to inside this building, as soon as he teleported in. One of the elements were inside, all alone, unsuspecting. This time was going to be different, he had to get rid of at least one, and then nothing could stop him.
He approached the door, composing himself before stepping through. Putting on a more menacing and confidant appearance, standing straight and focusing ahead. The ponies inside the bakery café turned to stare in horror, cowering back as the tall stallion left wispy black hoof steps as he made his way to the front counter. The fear was abundant, with some of the bystanders daring to flee outside.
Just ahead, King Sombra could sense the lone element. But what he did not sense, was any fear from that direction. But something else was there, or it wasn’t, an empty space he could not detect. As he got closer, he could see more over the counter. Just as he stopped, confusion now replaced his expression.
However, his mind was set on finding and destroying the next pony, he called out over the counter.
“I’m here for the harmony element! I know you are here!”
Having been ruler of the Crystal Empire, King Sombra had gone on a few journeys with his allies to various parts of the world, witnessing all kinds of creatures. But the least thing he could have expected, even in the most inner town of Equestria, was the creature that let out a deep growl.
The mass of fur that lay behind the counter, shifted, and then lifted up. Deep grey fur, and a long messy brown mane, this apparent “bear” was forcefully woken up by the yelling. It kept rising, not stopping at usual pony height, but turning completely to meet Sombra at his muzzle. Just and inch apart, a massive, fluffy, grey face snarled. This giant pony was angry, furious, and had a full set of thick sharp teeth and fangs.
And Sombra had just woken it from it’s nap.
A much more reasonably sized pony strolled out to stand beside the monster, coat pink and smile big.
“Hi! Welcome to Sugar Cube Corner!”
The bigger pony growled, and then with messy pronunciation, spoke.
“Big. Bad. Pony!”
Pinkie Pie paused, and stared at the dark king in front of her. A second later she realized.
“Oh, so that’s actually him? Wow.”
She smiled connivingly, “Well, if you need anything “sir”, I’m sure Mud can take care of it.”

The next second Sombra hit the ground outside the building, the wind knocked out of him. The blow was so intense, and pain worse, dispersed over his entire chest and shoulders, he might have believed his ribs were shattered. But the weight that landed on top of him was worse, covering his face and limbs, unable to move. But he did move, his back bending too far in the wrong direction. The beast known as “Mud” bit down on his neck, the massive jaws covering much, and digging into his skin. The beast pushed and pulled the unicorn until he gasped in pain, forcing him to squirm free.
After grasping every limb and twisting her new toy, Mud dropped him, standing up and turning. Sombra looked up from the dirt, eyes widening as he saw the beast was readying a hardy buck. Before he could pull himself away, he was launched further into the street. Ponies gathered, staying to the side to avoid the angered kelpie. But when they all saw clearly who the mauled stallion was, they began to scatter.
Pinkie pranced up to the kelpie, patting her on the shoulder.
“Nice work, we’ll take it from here.”
Just as she said that, Sombra’s eyes went wide. Looking around, he saw each and every Element of Harmony, slowly approaching on all sides.
