Chapters Twilight Sparkle, Part One
Beneath the clear, azure sky of Equestria, the sun bathes Ponyville in its warm, golden embrace. Birds sing a merry tune, and a gentle breeze rustles through the leaves of the vibrant trees lining the cobblestone streets. It's a perfect day in the land of friendship, where harmony reigns, and everypony goes about their daily tasks with smiles on their faces.
Amidst this idyllic scene, Anon, the familiarized in Equestria human, strolls along the bustling streets of Ponyville. Ponies of all kinds trot past, greeting each other with friendly nods and cheerful conversations. Colourful shopfronts adorn the streets, with the sweet aroma of baked goods wafting from Sugarcube Corner, and the glint of gems catching the eye at Rarity's Carousel Boutique.
Eventually, Anon arrives at the imposing Castle of Friendship. Its crystalline spires glisten in the sunlight, and the lush, well-tended gardens surrounding it are a testament to the care and love that Twilight Sparkle put into her home.
Raising a hand, Anon knocks gently on the castle's ornate door. He peers around, taking in the beauty of the garden with its vibrant flowers and bubbling fountains.
"Twilight? Are you in there?" Anon calls, his voice carrying a note of anticipation.
A few moments pass, and the sound of light hoofsteps approaches from within the castle. The door swings open, revealing Twilight Sparkle, the alicorn princess of friendship. Her violet eyes sparkle with warmth and familiarity upon seeing Anon, and a bright, genuine smile graces her face.
"Oh, Anon! Hello, there. What brings you by?" Twilight greets, her voice a melodious melody in the peaceful ambiance of the castle's surroundings.
Anon takes a thoughtful moment, his gaze shifting from the lavender alicorn to the serene view behind her. It's evident he's devising some plan in his mind. Finally, he meets Twilight's gaze again and replies with a calm yet determined tone, "I came by to see you. In fact, I have something to ask you. Would you mind if I come in?"
Twilight Sparkle responds with a small nod, as she steps aside to allow him to enter. "Of course not! Please do," she welcomes, gesturing for him to step inside. With a warm smile, Anon enters the Castle of Friendship.
Inside the welcoming confines of Twilight Sparkle's home, Anon, and the alicorn princess herself, walk side by side through the spacious corridors of the Castle of Friendship. The soft glow of magical orbs lights their way as they head towards the inviting warmth of the living room.
"So what exactly is this question of yours? Is it something about magic? I know you've been curious about that for a while," Twilight inquires, her curiosity evident in her voice as they continue their journey.
Anon glances at her with a thoughtful expression, his footsteps echoing softly against the castle's polished floors. "Nothing like that, no," he replies cryptically, causing Twilight's interest to pique even further. Her eyebrows raise slightly as she ponders his words.
"Although... I suppose one could say it is some form of magic," Anon adds.
Twilight Sparkle's eyes gleam with intrigue. "It sounds to me that you're better informed than even I am about it. If that's the case, why do you need to ask about it?" she inquires further, her curiosity pushing her to learn more.
As they approach the living room, the conversation hangs in the air, anticipation building. Anon glances around the room, appreciating its cozy atmosphere and the warmth it exudes. The soft, ambient glow of magical crystals illuminates the space, casting a comforting light over the various books, scrolls, and magical artifacts that adorn the shelves.
"You'll find out soon enough, don't worry," Anon finally responds, a hint of mystery still shrouding his words, with a mildly humoured tone.
Twilight Sparkle, sensing the importance of Anon's question and his reluctance to reveal it just yet, encourages him with a kind smile. "Feel free to take a seat, Anon. Something tells me this question of yours isn't as simple as it seems."
With a grateful nod, Anon settles into one of the cushioned chairs, making himself comfortable in the Castle of Friendship's living room. Twilight Sparkle follows suit, taking a seat beside him, her gaze fixed on him with a mix of curiosity and readiness to assist in whatever mysterious matter Anon is about to unveil.
"Well, I appear to have done a good job at piquing your interest," Anon says with a mischievous grin. As he speaks, Twilight Sparkle is seen having leaned forward, her avid expression showing her genuine curiosity. A faint blush tints her cheeks as she realizes her eagerness.
"Oh, um... Sorry about that. Please, ask away," Twilight stammers, adjusting her posture and leaning back slightly, attempting to regain her composure.
Anon takes a moment, clearing his throat for dramatic effect, before boldly asking, "So, miss 'Princess of Friendship'... do you know what a French kiss is?" The room falls into an almost complete silence, and Twilight Sparkle's eyes widen in shock as she sits there, nearly frozen in place. Anon savors the tension, clearly finding the situation rather amusing.
The two of them remain locked in silence for what feels like an eternity. Finally, Twilight Sparkle blinks a few times, her eyes refocusing, and she lightly shakes her head as if trying to clear her thoughts. She begins to speak, "Did I... hear that right? I'm sorry, it's just that it sounded like you said-"
Anon cuts her off mid-sentence, a smug smile playing on his lips as he confirms, "French kiss, that's right."
Twilight appears visibly confused, her blush deepening, as she stammers, "French... kiss?"
Anon continues toying with her, enjoying the discomfort he's causing. "You know what a kiss is, don't you?" he asks, waiting to gauge her reaction. Twilight Sparkle, clearly embarrassed by the topic at hand, struggles to find her words in response.
"Come now, I assumed that you'd at least know that much," Anon says, his voice carrying a hint of playful humour.
Twilight Sparkle quickly responds, clearing her throat and attempting to remove her blush, "No, I am much aware of what a kiss is, thank you. You could have at least worded it differently."
Anon continues to tease, his chuckle showing he's enjoying himself. "Is Twilight Sparkle too embarrassed to talk about something as simple as a kiss?" he jests.
In response, Twilight's tone becomes notably more serious as she asserts, "I am perfectly fine. If you must know, though, I have not heard of a French kiss. It almost seems like you came here to mock me about it."
Anon realizes the situation, and decides to recall his efforts. "You're right, I may have gone just a little too far. Still, it's rather fun to get you to blush," he admits, his gaze focused on her.
"Besides, I didn't really expect you to know or anything. It's a human thing; quite honestly, I'd be more surprised if you somehow had heard of it before."
Twilight Sparkle, now sitting more upright and gaining confidence, follows up with curiosity in her voice. "Well, you certainly have my interest, that's for sure. Really, what exactly is a French kiss? Is it just a different version of a regular kiss, or...?" Twilight Sparkle leans in, genuinely eager to learn about this aspect of human culture that has piqued her curiosity.
As Twilight Sparkle leans in, her curiosity growing, an idea immediately takes shape in Anon's mind. He appears particularly eager as he begins, "Well now, that's where things get particularly interesting. Tell me, Twilight... would you consider yourself a pony of research, if the opportunity appeared?"
Twilight Sparkle's eyes light up with passion for the subject. "Absolutely! One of my favorite things to do is to learn more about Equestria. Each and every day I discover something new, and I'd never have it any other way."
Anon then reveals his plan with a hint of nervousness hidden beneath his bold facade. "Interesting... How about we make it something along those lines, then? I'm sure having a hands-on experience would be a wonderful way of having you learn."
Twilight Sparkle, completely dazed by the previous question, stammers, "That sounds like a lot of fun! I love being able to... learn... um..." Her face displays visible confusion as she realizes the implication behind Anon's words.
With a more considered tone, she asks, "Wait, wait, wait... Are you suggesting what I think you are?"
Anon, wearing a sly smile, replies, "But of course. I could, naturally, simply tell you, but where's the fun in that?" The room is now filled with a palpable tension as Twilight Sparkle grapples with the unexpected turn the conversation has taken, and Anon's proposal hangs in the air, awaiting her response.
Twilight Sparkle takes a few moments to consider the unusual situation. She then says, "Of every pony you could have asked, you really went for me? I'm not sure if I should be flattered or confused."
Anon follows her statement with a degree of mystery in his voice, "My reasoning may be unknown, but I can assure you that a French kiss is indeed a real thing." He remains firm in his resolve not to explain it outright.
Twilight Sparkle, ever the inquisitive scholar, expresses her dilemma, saying, "You do understand that I, as a pony that wants to know as much as she can about the world, find it very hard to simply let something like this go, don't you?"
Anon responds with an almost proud tone, "Oh, I was counting on it."
Twilight Sparkle sighs, her curiosity warring with her reservations. She asks, "What exactly would you even get from this? Something tells me the satisfaction of helping a friend isn't your goal here."
Anon moves slightly closer to Twilight Sparkle, his voice softening as he says, "Come, now. Are you really going to tell me you haven't also been curious? Really?"
Twilight takes a moment to reflect, and once again, a blush grows along her cheeks as she struggles to find words. After a while, she says, "You are not to tell a pony outside of this room. This is for nothing more than simple discovery purposes. Do you understand?"
Anon is completely taken aback by her similar desire, having expected a clear rejection. He stammers for a moment, saying, "Are you... serious? Twilight, I was just messing around with you. I didn't expect you to actually-"
She abruptly cuts him off mid-sentence, her tone slightly mocking as she asserts, "Are you really going to tell me that you didn't plan this from the start?" She takes a moment to look at him closely, then continues with determination, "I may not know what a French kiss is, but by the sound of it, it's close enough. There's no way in Equestria you're about to imply something like that, only to pretend it was some kind of prank. Now come here." As she says this, she moves closer to him, her curiosity and determination overwhelming her.
Twilight Sparkle, Part Two
As Twilight Sparkle moves closer to Anon, any lingering reservations are swept away by an inexplicable desire to experience what lies ahead. In this moment, a profound curiosity takes hold, and an unspoken yearning drives them forward, despite their initial uncertainty.
As the two draw closer, their eyes gradually close, and the atmosphere shifts to one charged with an undeniable passion.
Soon, they find themselves in a tender and loving embrace, their lips meeting in a gentle kiss. It's evident that neither of them are entirely familiar with the concept, but it doesn't deter them. The exchange is simple, yet it holds a depth of emotion they both never expected.
After several intense and transformative moments, the two of them unanimously draw back from each other, their lips parting with a sense of hesitation. As they separate, they lock eyes once more, trying to comprehend the profound experience they've just shared. A noticeable blush graces both of their faces, and they remain momentarily speechless.
Twilight Sparkle is the first to break the silence, her voice trembling as she attempts to find the right words. "That was... magical..." She struggles to express herself, her emotions running deep. "Thank you, Anon. I... never expected something like that."
Anon, equally affected and lost for words, takes a moment to gather his thoughts. "Neither did I... I just thought it would be fun to mess with you a little, but... this? I don't know what to say."
As the situation settles, Twilight Sparkle clears her throat once more, then says, "I ask that you remember what I said before. The last thing I need is all of Ponyville hearing about this. It's... not exactly something you want everypony knowing about."
Anon assures her with sincerity, reaffirming, "I wouldn't dream of it. You have my word."
After a few more moments of reflection, Twilight Sparkle's curiosity gets the better of her, and she asks, "So if that was a regular kiss... What exactly is a French kiss?"
Anon, with a light chuckle, responds, "You know... I think that should wait for another time, now that I think about it. It's... quite the experience."
Twilight Sparkle, upon hearing this, appears to be deep in thought for a moment. After an extended pause, she calls out, "Spike? Are you still here?"
In the distance, footsteps can be heard approaching, alongside several vocal "woah" sounds. Soon, Spike arrives in the doorway to the room, holding a large stack of books, evidently out of breath. "I'm... I'm here, Twilight, don't worry! Did you... need something?"
Twilight seems to be plotting as she holds her hoof to her chin. She questions, "Spike, what do we have for today's to-do list?"
Spike, looking at the stack he's holding, searches for something. Upon finding a thin piece of paper, he replies, "Well, some of the ponies in Ponyville were after you for your permission to create a new garden. Rainbow Dash asked if you could check off the weather plans for the next few days so that she knew what needed doing. And... you've got some more reading to catch up on later. You told me to grab some books for it."
Twilight looks over to Anon with a slight smirk on her face, clearly sharing some unspoken understanding with him. Then, she turns her attention back to Spike, her expression innocent and friendly as she asks, "Spike, would you mind doing me a teensy little favour?" Her tone is conspiratorial, and it's evident that she has something in mind, although the details remain a mystery.
Spike responds enthusiastically, his dedication to helping Twilight evident in his words, "Of course, Twilight! What is it?"
Twilight then continues with a playful tone, "I'm awfully busy today, Spike. I just don't know if I'll be able to do all of those things! Would you be my favourite assistant and help me get those things done?"
Spike, upon hearing this request, has a near-fainting moment, dropping his stack of books with a loud thud. Concerned glances pass between Twilight and Anon as they watch him recover. After a few shaky moments, Spike regains his composure, although his expression is slightly confused as he responds, "Oh, um... No, not a problem at all, Twilight! Why else am I your number one assistant? Don't worry, I'll be sure to get it all done in no time!"
With determination, Spike starts to pick up the books he dropped but fumbles in the process, causing some of them to fall again. Realizing his predicament, he glances sheepishly at Twilight and Anon before deciding to simply push the fallen stack away without a word. As he moves out of sight from the doorway, a faint scraping noise can be heard gradually fading into silence.
Upon Spike's departure, Twilight Sparkle turns to Anon and says playfully, "Oh, would you look at that! It would appear I have nothing to do all day," followed by another smirk and a teasing tone. "You were saying?"
Anon, still taken aback by her sudden change in attitude, seems even more bewildered than before. He takes a cautious glance at the doorway, ensuring it's clear, before looking back at her and saying, "Are you... sure? You don't even know what it is, Twilight."
Twilight Sparkle, her focus fully on him, maintains her playful tone and deepening blush as she responds, "Well... you wouldn't want to keep a pony waiting, would you?" She punctuates her words with a light wink, further teasing him.
She then heads to the doorway and closes the door, ensuring their privacy. As she does so, she turns back to Anon and says, "That should make sure nopony disturbs us. You understand, don't you?" Anon simply nods in response, still somewhat speechless. Twilight Sparkle returns to the seat beside him, her demeanor noticeably more relaxed than her usual professional mannerisms.
Twilight Sparkle, now settled in a more relaxed position, leans in slightly and murmurs, "Now, then. Would you care to elaborate on this 'French kiss' of yours?" Her curiosity is palpable as she sits there, patiently.
As Anon begins to explain, there's a noticeable shift in the room's atmosphere. The daylight outside fades, and the ambient noises of Ponyville settle down, leaving them in an encapsulation of intimate conversation. Twilight Sparkle listens with a mixture of awe and curiosity, her eyes shining as she absorbs the details.
"There's really that much to it?" she remarks, her voice filled with wonder.
Anon, sitting with growing confidence, responds, "It's a little more than one would need to know, but I'd assumed you would prefer the details." He attempts to maintain his boldness, but there's a subtle undercurrent of nervousness within him.
Twilight gives a silent nod, captivated by Anon. He continues in a sly tone, "I'd thought as much."
For a while, the two of them sit in silence, unsure of how to proceed. Twilight taps her hoof against the couch while studying it, and Anon looks around the room, avoiding direct eye contact. The room is filled with unspoken tension and anticipation as they navigate this uncharted territory together.
Suddenly, Twilight Sparkle looks up at Anon, her eyes filled with a mix of desire and uncertainty. She leans closer to him and says, her voice barely above a whisper, "Let's be honest, we both know exactly where this is going. Should we just...?" then pointing at the side of the couch.
Anon shifts his gaze to her, his expression slightly surprised by her directness. After a moment, he simply shrugs and says, "At this point... sure, why not?" It's clear that they both desire one another, but aren't sure how exactly to go onward.
Despite this, the two of them are seen to slowly embrace one another, their desire overtaking any reservations. They diverge from the original build-up, drawn together by an irresistible force. Their lips meet in a passionate kiss, their bodies pressed close to one another.
Now, however, Twilight seems to be particularly interested in Anon's prior explanation. Wasting no time at all, she pushes him down onto his back, caressing along him as they continue.
For just a moment, Twilight removes herself from his lips, considering everything that has happened so far. She stares at him, full of desire, as she says, "I believe we've reached that point, haven't we?" Anon once again plainly nods, to which she gives a smirk, replying "That's exactly what I was hoping for."
Almost immediately, she lands a kiss upon him once more, albeit with noticeably more force. Anon reciprocates with similarity, as he uses his own hands to move along her body.
They connect with one another, moving themselves along each other as they continue. Upon becoming more comfortable in their connection, they begin to slowly introduce their tongues, gently brushing along one another's as they delve further into their kiss. The warmth of their closeness runs along them, their touch creating a feeling of sheer euphoria.
The moment feels like it could last together, with neither of them having any desire to stop. It almost feels surreal to them both.
As Twilight prepares to undress Anon, a faint knock can be heard on the door. From behind it, a familiar voice. "Um... Twilight? Are you okay in there?" it asks, with a hint of curiosity. "I did all of the things you asked, but I thought you would've come out by now. Is something wrong?" Twilight, upon hearing this, panickedly rolls off of Anon, bonking her head on the floor. She shakes it a few times, with a small "ow" to follow, before turning her attention to the door.
She softly whispers to Anon, "Don't say a word," before slowly heading over to the door. The anxiety builds upon the two, as she grows nearer. Her ears, adorned with their characteristic purple accents, twitch ever so slightly with nervousness. Soon, upon her arrival, she opens it, to be greeted by her closest friend, Spike.
"Oh, you are okay! That's a relief," he says, before becoming visibly confused. Twilight fidgets slightly, her cheeks adorned with a faint pink blush. She clears her throat, trying to regain her composure."What, uh... What exactly was going on in there, Twilight?" He appears to know something about the situation, despite having no prior hints.
Twilight meets Anon's gaze, her usually pristine mane now a mess, strands of lavender and indigo sticking out in all directions. Her embarrassment deepens as she realizes the state of her appearance, and she quickly tries to pat her mane down, only making it worse.
She quickly turns back to Spike, and nervously stammers, "O-Oh, nothing, Spike! Y-You know how ponies get sometimes. Books, and... research! That's right, we were up to research." It's clear she had no plan for such an occurrence, but decides to try her luck anyway. Spike, surprisingly, seems aboard with it.
"Uh... alright, then... I guess," he replies, having no visible change in his assumptions. "Just... let me know when you're not doing... whatever this is. I'm off to bed, Rainbow Dash had me running laps." With that, he begins to walk off, having no further points to make.
Twilight Sparkle looks back at Anon, with a concerned expression. "Well... at least I didn't technically lie. Do you think he fell for it?" she asks. Anon is seen shaking his head, almost surprised she thought such a thing. "Right... I didn't think so. In hindsight, maybe this wasn't the smartest idea."
Twilight takes a moment to fix her hair with her telepathic magic, her focus evident in the gentle glow of her horn. It's not perfect, but her lavender and indigo mane now falls more neatly around her, the blush on her cheeks slowly receding.
"Look... I might've gotten just a little ahead of myself there," Twilight admits with a sheepish grin, her violet eyes meeting Anon's. She takes a moment to compose herself, exhaling softly. "But really... not a word. I couldn't imagine that becoming the new big thing of Ponyville."
Anon nods in understanding, a small smile playing on his lips. "Believe it or not, I would prefer the same thing. It's strange enough having a human in Ponyville; there's already a lot of attention towards me. This would become a nightmare."
The two share a light chuckle as they finish readjusting themselves. Twilight then breaks the momentary silence, saying, "So, Anon... Just so you're aware, this doesn't necessarily have to become a one-time interaction." Anon's eyes widen in surprise, and he responds, "Is that right?" Twilight gives him a playful smile and a small nod.
He avidly responds to her offer, saying, "I just may consider it. You're certainly a wonderful pony, but that... was something else."
She playfully signals with her hoof for him to accompany her out of the room, and he obliges. At the doorway, Anon asks, "So, Twilight... Now do you know what a 'French kiss' is?" His teasing tone causes her cheeks to almost immediately flare up. She responds by embarrassingly shoving him forward, saying, "Not. A. Word."
As they stand at the entrance of Twilight's Castle of Friendship, facing each other, Twilight says, "Well, Anon... I hope you learned something today... just as I have."
Anon grins mischievously and looks around for observers before leaning in closer. "Oh, I most certainly have. It would appear that Twilight Sparkle..." He pauses for effect, then continues, "is a very loving pony at heart."
Twilight's eyes widen for a moment, and then she sighs, playfully saying, "Oh, just get going, already. Your day has been eventful enough as it is, don't you think?" With that, she bids him farewell, and Anon heads off into the bustling streets of Ponyville, leaving behind a blushing Twilight at the Castle of Friendship's entrance. Despite his original intentions, it would seem that the two truly had one special day.
As Anon ambles through the bustling streets of Ponyville on an ordinary day of fall, the town is blooming with activity. The colourful ponies around him engage in lively chatter and merriment, their conversations blending with the gentle hum of the town. The quaint pastel-hued buildings and vibrant blossoms that line the cobblestone streets create a picturesque scene for everypony to enjoy.
In the distance, the town square comes into view, adorned with a burst of festivity. Banners sway in the breeze, and the scent of delectable treats wafts through the air from the various food stalls. The atmosphere is one of sheer delight, and Anon finds themselves drawn towards the new addition to Ponyville.
"So this is what Ponyville's fairs look like?" Anon muses to themselves as they approach the lively scene. "I must say, they really know how to uphold their culture. I wonder if Applejack had anything to do with this...?"
As Anon navigates through the cheerful crowd, ponies of all sorts can be seen reveling in the festivities. Laughter fills the air, and the mood is infectious. Anon's curiosity leads them to a stall renowned for its exceptional apple cider.
"Huh. It seems she might have been involved after all," Anon reflects, glancing around in search of the orange-coated earth pony. "I wonder where she's at, anyway."
Just then, a faint, enthusiastic voice carries from above. "Well yeah, obviously! Who else makes stuff like this? It's the best!" Anon looks up to see a cloud hovering overhead, with a vibrant rainbow tail trailing behind it.
The source of the voice leans over the cloud, revealing herself to be none other than Rainbow Dash. Her cerulean coat gleams in the sunlight, and her magenta eyes shimmer with a playful glint. Her rainbow-coloured mane and tail stand out like a work of art, mirroring the vivid hues of the fair's decorations.
"Hey, what are you doing here, anyway?" Rainbow Dash calls down to Anon, her voice tinged with a blend of curiosity and playfulness. "I thought you were hanging out with Twilight or something?"
Anon chuckles to himself and replies, "Well... I was. She got quite busy, so I decided to leave her alone for a while. Something about a 'Princess Cadance?'" He shrugs casually, then looks back at Rainbow Dash with curiosity. "What about you? Why are you here?"
Rainbow Dash's expression transforms from slight offence to enthusiastic determination as she responds, her voice slightly raised, "Why am I here?! Look around! This is like, the best time of the year! Nothing but the best apple cider in Equestria, everypony's too busy cleaning up leaves to disturb me... What's not to like?" Anon can't help but be amused by her explanation.
"Didn't you say summer was your favourite season? And... spring, at some point, I swear-" Anon begins, but Rainbow Dash interrupts him, her voice carrying a sense of urgency.
"That's not the point! This is different. We always do a huge run in fall, called the Running of the Leaves, to make sure they come down properly. I've really got my work cut out for me if I'm to beat my score from last year." As Rainbow Dash explains, her wings twitch with anticipation, ready for the challenge that lies ahead.
Anon raises an eyebrow and questions Rainbow Dash, his interest piqued by her choice of words. "A race? That doesn't sound too fair if you've got wings to use."
Rainbow Dash responds with a touch of disdain for the rules in place. "Yeah... they kinda thought about that one. Turns out using wings 'defeats the point' or something, so we've all gotta have 'em tied up instead." She strikes a confident pose, her smile radiant. "Not that it matters! There's no way I'm losing this year!"
Anon takes a moment to consider this information, occasionally glancing up at Rainbow Dash, who seems puzzled by his contemplative demeanor. After a brief pause, he returns his gaze to her and asks, "Say, Rainbow Dash... Officially speaking, what happens in the situation one were to, I don't know... break the rules?"
Rainbow Dash gains an almost immediate frustration as she exclaims, "That wasn't my fault! Applejack-!" She abruptly stops herself when she realizes that curious onlookers have taken an interest in their conversation. With a nervous chuckle, she continues in a lower tone, "...Anyway, if a pony breaks the rules in the run, it's seen as an automatic forfeit. Usually. Just makes sure ponies don't go around 'ruining the fun for everypony,'" she adds, gesturing with a hoof to emphasize the eccentricity of the race officials.
Anon appears more satisfied with this information and responds playfully, "So hypothetically speaking, in the situation two people were to agree to a reward of some kind for the winner of a similar kind of race, breaking the rules would count as an automatic forfeit?"
Rainbow Dash appears somewhat perplexed by the phrasing but replies nonetheless, "Uh... sure, I guess? Something like that."
With a slight nod, Anon heads over to a nearby apple cider stand, takes one, and returns to Rainbow Dash, exuding an air of confidence as he takes a small sip. Rainbow Dash, growing increasingly bewildered, can't help but ask, "...Why are you asking? Are you gonna be in this year's fall run? Because I'll be honest, seeing a human run would be pretty hilarious."
Anon takes a few more moments before lowering the apple cider glass and replying with a grin, "I'll have you know, Rainbow Dash, I'm quite the runner. Maybe even good enough to beat you."
Rainbow Dash immediately perceives this as a challenge and exclaims, "Woah, woah, woah! There's no way you're actually being serious, right?" She eyes Anon with a mixture of surprise and defiance.
Anon, maintaining a silent, smug smile, doesn't back down. Rainbow Dash's competitive spirit ignited, she continues, "Don't look at me like that! Nopony challenges Rainbow Dash to a race and gets away with it!"
Anon, feigning a concerned expression, replies, "Come now, Rainbow Dash. I was simply making a joke."
Rainbow Dash shakes her head vigorously a few times, before insisting, "Yeah, it better have been!"
Rolling his eyes, Anon can't resist whispering to himself, "A joke at how slow you are," followed by a quiet chuckle. Rainbow Dash's competitive fervour reaches its peak, and she leaps from her cloud, landing squarely in front of Anon with determination in her magenta eyes.
"Alright, that's it! At the race track, right now!" she declares.
Anon gives her a good-natured look and says, "Whatever you say, 'Dashie'."
The two of them make their way to the starting point of the Running of the Leaves track. The surroundings are adorned with brown trees shedding their leaves, creating a beautiful seasonal scene. The fallen leaves blanket the ground, forming a colourful mosaic. The track stretches out before them, a wide open field, inviting them to put their speed and determination to the test.
Rainbow Dash wears a grumpy expression as she shoots distasteful glances at Anon. Meanwhile, Anon seems rather pleased with himself, having successfully provoked the competitive spirit of the pegasus.
As Anon and Rainbow Dash approach the starting line, it appears entirely empty, offering a surprisingly calm contrast to the bustling fair they left behind. The track is simple, with just the starting line marked by a chalked line on the ground. It may be bare, but it serves as an effective beginning for their impromptu race.
Rainbow Dash turns to Anon with a stern expression, her magenta eyes locked onto his. "You'd better not try to chicken out now. We're racing, and that's final."
Anon responds confidently, a playful gleam in his eyes. "Well, that was the plan. Why would I give up on a free win?" Unsurprisingly, Rainbow Dash seems even more infuriated than before, choosing to remain silent until they both stand before the starting line.
Once they arrive, Rainbow Dash taps her hoof onto the line and then points forward at the stretch of trees that lies ahead. She explains the race's rules, her voice determined. "We start here, and keep going until we reach the other side. The rules are that neither of us can fly, leave the track, or say anything until the race is done."
Anon offers a light-hearted reply, teasing her, "Something tells me you made that last one up."
Rainbow Dash sighs, her confidence returning as she says, "If I lose something, so do you. Sounds fair to me."
Rainbow Dash positions herself at the start, her hoof grazing along the dirt. "I don't have all day! Let's get this over with already!" she insists.
Anon, however, gives a mischievous response, drawing out the anticipation. "Without anything to race for? Doesn't sound very fun to me, Rainbow."
Rainbow Dash appears momentarily confused before turning to face Anon. She presents her offer, her eyes sparkling with determination. "You know what? Just for wasting my time, I'll take you up on that. If I win, you'll do everything I say for the whole of tomorrow. I could do with a day off."
She shows no hint of doubt, and a few moments pass as Anon contemplates her proposition. Rainbow Dash continues, her confidence unwavering. "If it were me, I wouldn't even bother asking for anything. There's no world where you can beat me, Anon."
Anon, with a smug expression, reveals his counteroffer. "A kiss."
Rainbow Dash's eyes widen in surprise, and she shakes her head in disbelief. "A what now?"
Anon, undeterred, elaborates with a sly grin. "You heard me. A kiss. If you're so confident, that shouldn't mean anything anyway, right?"
Rainbow Dash is rendered momentarily speechless by the unexpected request. Anon, on the other hand, seems emboldened by the turn of events. He continues, his tone slightly playful, "In fact, let's make it worthwhile, seeing as an entire day is quite the ask. A French kiss. I'm sure you know what one of those is, don't you?"
As Rainbow Dash remains her determined self, Anon continues to tease her, his tone playfully mocking. "Oh, is Rainbow Dash afraid of losing? 'If it were me, I wouldn't even bother-'"
Rainbow Dash's patience wears thin, and she cuts him off with a shout, "Fine! I don't care about your stupid French kiss, whatever it is. This has gone on for way too long. Get over here and race me, already!" Her competitive spirit overrides any doubts she may have had.
Anon, feeling that he's achieved his goal, gives a nonchalant response, "If you say so," before walking to her side.
Once they're both in position at the starting line, he turns to face her, adding with a hint of mischief, "Oh, and you don't have to tie up your wings or anything. I trust you'll keep to the rules." He punctuates his words with a sly wink. Rainbow Dash appears momentarily distracted by the comment, but she quickly refocuses on the track stretching out before them. She assumes a running stance, her body poised for the race.
Rainbow Dash then glances down at a horseshoe below them and says, "Once this hits the ground, we'll start." With that, she strikes her hoof against the ground, sending the horseshoe flying into the air. She swiftly returns to her original stance, her eyes fixed ahead, waiting for the horseshoe to clank back to the ground, signaling the start of their race. As moments pass by, the suspense builds between them as they await what happens next.
Author's Note
Admittedly, this one may be a slight stretch in terms of character representation, but given the nature of it, I'd hope it works anyway. I'm aware that Rainbow Dash isn't known as the typical 'always aggressive' kind of character, but for this type of story, I thought it could be fun to explore.
