Intermission 5: Preperations (Now with more pillars!)

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Area: Ponhedge
Year: 1993

Scootaloo, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash were standing at Ponhedge, ready. Twilight and Scootaloo both knew that the pillars would be helpful in the battle that was coming in 6 years. Six... a funny number, isn't it? Six pillars, six elements, six years. It all runs back. Scootaloo had helped acquire all the required items to bring the pillars back, the trio knew what they were doing.

Twilight did the spell and now, all of the pillars are back, with Starswirl being the first to comment, "What... what happened?" he asked before realizing, "What have you done?!"

"Chill Starswirl, it may not look it but... we have a plan," Scootaloo said as the Pony of Shadows appeared. Scootaloo immediately did a light embued dash attack to just murder them. "See? I've become a bit of a monster so... heh, don't expect anything to be an issue while I'm here. But now we must ask you six a favor... Equestria has six years to prepare for the biggest war it will take part in and we figure you six could help us considering your power as stories have dictated. And to make things better, you six know not the horrors me and Princess Twilight here have faced, but we have no reason to not educate you six on the monsters you will have to fight," Scootaloo explained, confusing all six of the pillars.

Area: Scootaloo's dream
Year: 1994

Scootaloo looked at everything she had done here, no smile on her face, no glee to be had. Why? Was her memories of the friendship she once had with Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom tainting the glee she should be feeling? The eye in the darkness stared at Scootaloo again, its blood red pupil standing out. "You still feel remorse for doing what you wamted to do," It said, its voice deep and empty of emotion.

"What do you know about remorse? I think you haven't felt remorse in your life and are just trying to twist me, well you ain't doing it. I let you out once, I won't do it again," Scootaloo commented, the truth clear as day. This... thing... in her dreams wants nothing but pain and conflict. The darkness around gave way to a multicolored area, revealing the entity called Blood Rush to be a black ball with a giant eye in the center and a bunch of smaller orange balls surrounding it.

"You know nothing of me? Who's to say that I, a matter so dark, have never felt remorse?"

"I see it in your damn eye! You hold no remorse, no love... only hate. You want nothing but the world to share your terrible fate!"

"So you do know something of me just from looking at my eye? Interesting..."

"Now leave me alone! I will not hunt down your "incarnate" enemy or whatever it is!"

"You say that now but... even Dark Matters like me know you'll twist that eventually."

Scootaloo dared not give reply there. She knew as well, if this "incarnate" was evil, she would but so far as she heard, the "incarnate" was a much better hero than herself. She killed people regularly, he didn't.

Area: Memory Museum Gallery
Year: 1995

Scootaloo watched as Starswirl got well acquinted with Darklight's magic attacks. In that he got hit by them more times that he really should. "Hey! Bearded! Could you maybe try dodging when you see a magic attack coming?" Scootaloo said, angering Starswirl who failed to see the lightning spell attack him. "Come on grampa! You got it!" Scootaloo mocked.

The other pillars had gotten used to fighting Darklight rather easily. Starswirl was trying to be different in his approach due to his sheer better magical prowess. Starswirl looked up at Scootaloo, "Oh yeah? Why don't you beat this thing?" he said but Scootaloo just shook her head.

"Because I have, I've beaten it over a hundred times. I know every in and out of that fight and so I do not need training on it. You do. So just stop complaning and fight it like the others did!" Scootaloo said in a stern tone even as Starswirl shot a single powerful blast that was completely destroyed by the shield Darklight had up, the power of the spell doesn't contribute to draining the shield and yet Starswirl was desperate to use a spell of sheer power to destroy it in one hit, just attacking it is far too easy and seems lazy to him! There has to be a solution that involves a single powerful spell.

Oh... he lost. "Starswirl. You have a lot to learn. You cannot just use full power spells to deplete the shield, those take too long and deal the same damage as a weak one. It isn't based on damage done, but the speed of attacks. Again," Scootaloo said as the battle against Darklight restarted and Starswirl, regretably, attacked as fast as he could as the shield spell fell and Darklight's Mana Prism went to casting more magic.

Starswirl regretted not being able to defeat the shield in a single shot and he, as well as the rest of the pillars, had 4 years left to prepare for 1999. That wasn't going to be fun.

Area: Skyros Outskirts
Year: 1996

Opaline Arcana was following this pony, one calling themself Death oddly, in great interest. This earth pony promised her a way to expand her power in ways never before seen. "Opaline Arcana, tell me. Have you heard of Castlemania?" Death asked.

"The real question is who hadn't. Everypony knows that place. Been wanting to find the place myself to expand my power and make it clear that alicorns are supposed to be at the top of the heirarchy!" Opaline Arcana answered in an... arrogent tone. Death just smirked at that, he knew she'd like what he was doing then.

Opaline and Death kept getting farther and farther from Skyros towards the end of Skyros Outskirts and that's when she realized.

The yellow coated, black cloak wearing, scythe wielding filly stood right there. Opaline felt the sheer power behind the filly's fragile appearence and part of her said to run the fuck away... but she didn't. Why? This filly could kill her in a heartbeat, she's rather be back in Skyros than look at it. "Pleasure ta finally meet ya... Opaline Arcana. Ah'm sure yer confused, ah'll explain," Apple Bloom said as she looked at Opaline and she could swear she saw skulls in those eyes but she gulped her fear down.

"I... I am Opaline Arcana and I request you explain what you need of me to waste my time having this... lesser pony drag me out here!" Opaline tried to demand but it came out more as a statement versus a demand. This filly wasn't right.

Apple Bloom twirled a little syringe in her hoof. "Came ta make ya an offer. Ah can give ya power, but... we must make a deal. Yer parts are simple. Let meh hybridize ya and then sign yer soul ta Chaos which just means yer body, as it was when ya signed, gets reformed every time the castle falls. Mah part from there is help teach ya how ta use yer hybridized abilities in conjection with what ya already knew... ya interested?" Apple Bloom asked that last bit with a smirk, aware Opaline wasn't about to reject more power, and eternal revives were too good to reject.

Opaline sat there for a moment, thinking over her options. She could go along with this but she might lose her, admittedly, already limited freedom... or she could go along with it and not lose her freedom and maybe even gain more... OOOOR she could decline and be forced to get power a different way knowing she passed up on a silver platter of power. Opaline took a breath as she said, "I accept."

Author's Note

Ooooooh shit. The pillars are back and Opaline's been recruted to Sweetie Belle's castle. Shit is going to go far in this next arc :3

Also, if you wanna use my versions of the characters...
Sweetie Belle dialogue color code: 9426af
Apple Bloom dialogue color code: ad3232
Scootaloo dialogue color code: cf8b54
Opaline Arcana: a92d9d
Jonathan Morris: FF3232
Charlotte Aulin:26a4ff
Death(post-OoE): 3c26af
Twilight Sparkle: a66ebe
Rainbow Dash: 6aaadd
Starswirl: 888888

After the first three, you should know that those are the color codes I use for the character's dialogue string. And yes, all of the mane six just use their named color from the color menu of the formating. Included Twilight and Rainbow Dash since they were both alive. For recurring ORIGINAL characters, I might include them eventually. I'm not picky if you forget to use the color-coated dialogue, it's your life and story. Only real reason I included that was because I realized Opaline and Sweetie Belle have similiar color codes.
